(00:00):
Hey everybody, welcome to the podcast today. It is a very windy day here on the ranch.

(00:08):
It's been a very busy week. My meditation group is on Mondays and that morning I was busy,
you know, drank my coffee, did my laughter exercises, feeling really good. I had everything
planned out for what we were going to talk about and then I looked out the window. And

(00:33):
in my cow pasture, I saw two dudes that did not belong there. The bulls smashed a fence
and were in with the cows. Not good because if any cows are cycling right now, that means

(00:54):
I will have January babies and that is not something that I want or any of my little replacement
heifers. I'm not ready for them to get bred. Number one, I want to choose the baby daddy
so that it has the best chance for success. And number two, it is too early. So I calm

(01:17):
my husband because if he's anywhere near, I can have reinforcements to deal with this situation
but he is not. Okay, so out I go, may or may not have said a few pasture words, out I go
to convince these two dudes who are quite delighted to be with all the ladies that they

(01:47):
need to get back into the crow and I need to drop them. And as I go out to do this, I'm thinking
yeah, this is either going to go really well or this is going to be kind of a disaster.
Let's just hope really well. So I grounded my energy, I called in my heavenly helpers, cow

(02:13):
angels, anybody that wanted to help me. I asked my dad, my neighbor Frank, absolutely. So I
go out and I kind of like where they all are because they're not too far away from the gate
into the crow that I need them to be in and I'm thinking, huh, this might be okay. So luckily

(02:36):
for me and because I spend a lot of time with my cows and have like created this situation,
I was able to go out there, shake my bucket full of oats and have some highland ladies come
running. And so I ran into the crow, I poured the oats into the trough and a bunch of ladies

(03:02):
came in and then I went back and I circled around. Meanwhile, the bulls are fighting with each
other, which I'm okay with as long as they don't smash anything and it's keeping them a little
bit distracted. So maybe I can, you know, ease them into the crow without them realizing
what's actually happening. The other lucky thing for me is they took a liking to one of my

(03:25):
highland ladies, Nora. Thank you, Nora. Also my grandma's name, thanks, Grandma. And followed
her in and I got to shut that gate and then I did a laughter yoga celebration dance. Very
good, very good. Yay. And looked at them and said, I win. So now I have my bulls in the

(03:47):
crow, but I have quite a few cows in there with them. And like, well, next step in this process,
this is where I really called in my heavenly helpers because I needed help sorting off the
cows that I didn't want in there, especially the ones with babies. And so I did my magic,

(04:10):
may or may not have used my hip to therapy, boys asked my heavenly helpers to help me. My
neighbor Frank and my dad, who both passed away and were good cattle people. And you know
what, we got it done. I probably sorted off 15 ladies. There was still one that I wanted
to get out, but I ran out of time because I was time to go to work. My neighbor drove by and

(04:35):
I waved at her and I'm like, dang it. I should have flagged them down. I'm pretty sure that
it would be a valid excuse to be late for school that they had to go and stop and help a neighbor
prevent early pregnancies. I sent her a message after and we laughed about it and she said,
absolutely any time. My great. And so all that was left in the crowd at this point was a couple

(05:01):
of moms and about five ladies that hadn't capped yet. So I know they were safe. And nobody was cycling.
Is nobody was having that energy and I was super, super happy. So then I got to go to work.
I was off though. I had to tell the ladies my story and then it took me a full hour to like come

(05:23):
back to my energy of everything I had planned and then I remember what I wanted to talk about.
You know, and it's interesting because we talk a lot about our perspectives and my mindfulness
group. And it was that morning too earlier. I was woken up at 415 in the morning by my dog who
is barking because something was really bothering her. And she's a big dog and she is a protector.

(05:47):
That's her breed. She's a ditch puppy. So I'm not totally sure all the breeds that she is,
but she is super protective. And as you know, I could be mad that she woke me up at 415 in the morning
or I could just say, good girl, you're doing your job. I'm not going to be mad about that. And I'll
just go to bed earlier tonight. And then I ended up doing a bunch of cowgirl aerobics with

(06:12):
the cows before work. And yet I still managed to get it all done and get to my job on time,
which was pretty cool. And again, about perspective, I could have, you know, been annoyed and mad
that it disrupted my day and that I needed to go do all of this. And then I almost didn't get breakfast,
but I did. I managed to shift my energy enough. I had done my laughter yoga exercises before this.

(06:40):
So you know I'm going to encourage you all to do those because it works. And so I was in a
grounded stable place to go deal with the shenanigans. I did swear at my balls. And now they're in
bull jail. They lost their pasture privileges because of this because, you know, can't have it.
It's not time yet. When it's time, don't worry buddies. We will let you out to do your jobs.

(07:05):
And so again, let's, you know, when things don't go as we have them planned, I invite you to look at
your perspective on it and can you shift it and find the good parts or even look at it as you
handled it. Even if it didn't work out the way you wanted, you still did your best. And you did

(07:27):
what had to be done. And it's okay. It doesn't have to be perfect. It doesn't have to be exactly how
you wanted it to be or how you need it to work out. Like, because we can get caught up in that, right?
That overthinking or I need this, this, this, this, and happen. And let's face it, we're in a world full of

(07:50):
change. We were talking about a dark night of the soul that could be happening collectively.
And so that is very, very possible. And we're going through transformation and it's messy.
And it's going to be even probably messier, but there's also hope.

(08:17):
And so I invite you to be in your life. Be in your life. Do what you need to do. Do what you need
to do to protect your energy, to protect your peace. And you need to have your tools. You know,
if I wouldn't have done my laughter yoga exercises that morning, which is dancing, so how wonderful

(08:38):
is that? Maybe I wouldn't have been so calm dealing with all this situation. Because, you know, there's
been others cases where my bowl's got out and I had a really hard time getting them in. And it was messy
and I probably, I did cry and I swore a lot. But I was very stable and grounded on Monday morning.
And even though when I got to work, I was still a little bit rattled. And, but it's okay. It's okay to be

(09:03):
who you are. It's okay to feel what you feel. We are processing a lot. There's a lot of different
types of challenges. Use your tools. You can do it. The guided meditation I have for us today is
the spirit within. And so I actually record the journey first and then I do this part because I

(09:31):
need to see where it takes us. And it was pretty interesting. Pretty interesting where this one
took me. And I don't, if it doesn't always happen. And I don't want to say too much because you're
just going to experience the journey. But I will say that it was powerful. And this journey affected

(09:53):
me as I was recording it. Normally I record it and then I do it. I listen to it. This time it happened
during it. It was really, really a cool experience. So I'm going to invite you to, you know, give yourself
the time and space to really be in this energy of this guided meditation and enjoy it. It's cool.

(10:15):
Okay. And so I'm just seeing how much shine I have.
Yeah. As I look up my window right this second, my cows came up to visit me and they're all looking
peaceful. I am still waiting for some first cat peppers, but they're not in a hurry right now.

(10:35):
And that's very much okay. Very much okay. All right. So I'm going to wrap this part up and we are
going to do our guided imagery. Just become aware of breathing, putting attention, they're gently

(11:03):
settling more comfortably into the support beneath. Take three big deep breaths,
three big deep breaths. And on one of those breaths, if they haven't already,

(11:25):
I find their way to closing.
Remaining focused on the sound of my voice,

(11:52):
as all the other sounds begin to drift into the background, because they're
unimportant to pay attention to, only allowing you to relax even more as you gently and easily
release any cares and worries and let go. Let's do one more big deep breath in.

(12:20):
And releasing and letting go, giving yourself a gift of this time and space,
as you simply continue to be and breathe, breathe and be.

(12:47):
And even though there may be a drifting away from the sound of my voice,
there's also a sense of when to come back to it in an easy and effortless way.
At this point, allow your concentration to go to your feet. Imagine getting a sense of

(13:15):
walking in a place that's quiet, peaceful and secure. And with every breath,
give permission to allow this comforting sensation of walking in the peacefulness,
through legs from toes into heels, ankles, knees and thighs,

(13:42):
becoming aware of a comfortable sensation walking through the quiet of this place.
With every breath, continue to sense even more, the air,
like it gentles something that sends a warm and nurturing sensation all around,
through the midsection, the solar plexus, there is a letting go,

(14:09):
becoming even more comfortable as a deep inner calm begins to form.
As all of this senses begin to heighten now and more and more, there is an awareness of all
that is around in this quiet and peaceful place, continuing to feel even more calm as this

(14:33):
comfortable sensation moves through your chest, breathing easily and effortlessly,
making way through this place that is very secure.
Noticing the sounds around this place? Listen, the peacefulness of it all speaks comfort in a special way.

(14:57):
Being and breathing, breathing and being, being here now, your head, your neck and shoulders
beginning to give way into comfort and whatever was piled up there now just slips off in easy release.

(15:26):
In a moment or two, begin to imagine choosing a particular spot in this place, secure and comfortable,
taking ownership of this place and this spot of deep comfort, reclining and rejuvenating,
allowing yourself to drift into an even deeper comfort now.

(15:53):
And with each and every breath, comfort now seems to double in strength and a feeling of all
as well swirls around. The warmth and gentle something of the air seems to wrap itself around
even more, comforting, calming all around and all through. As though there is a wholehearted

(16:20):
agreement about the spot in this place, reaching out and reaching toward
and as connection is made, arms, hands, fingers releasing, it is all comfortable and easy.
Imagine now settling into the comfort that awaits in a greater way there, this spot within

(16:48):
the place is peaceful and welcoming. And in a moment now, we'll count backwards from five to zero
and we'll reach an even more comfortable imagery state at zero, breathing and being,

(17:12):
being and breathing, allowing yourself this time to relax, allowing yourself this time to go on
this guided journey. Five, four, three, two, one and zero, deeply, deeply relaxed, deeply relaxed.

(17:40):
And now, since the door of the imagination has already been opened,
feeling more centered now in the place for today, what if the place could become more sacred?
Let it be sacred today where truth can arise and be everything that it can possibly be.

(18:09):
Imagining now that sacred energy comes all around and all through.
And when ready, bring an image forward that stands for the spirit within.
Freely and easily let an image of spirit arise. Imagine it in a way that makes sense to you.

(18:34):
Feel what you feel. See what you see. Hear what you hear. Know what you know.
Let the image come forth freely.

(19:00):
And in a way that makes sense to you. No way to do this wrong.
As you let your senses heighten and with any or all of your senses come to know the image that
stands for the spirit within. The spirit within image begins to reveal itself.

(19:24):
Perhaps there might be a sense of it in some way connected to your being.
What is the essential thing about the spirit image?
How does it feel to be with it?

(19:46):
How does it feel to be with it?
How does it feel to be with it?
How does it feel to be with it?

(20:28):
Imagine entering into a conversation with spirit within.
What would you like to ask?
If you're not sure what to ask, ask, how does it feel being your spirit?
