Speaker 1 (00:18):
Hello, and welcome to Psychic Teachers. I'm your post step.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Bowen and I'm Samantha Fay, and.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
We are so excited to be with you this week
without July Question and Answer episode. We've asked some great questions
recently and we're so excited to share them with you. Samantha,
where you started.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Song, I'd be happy to our first one, says. I
was just listening to your show, catching up on episodes.
I listened to an episode from April third, twenty twenty
three where you recommended asking for an animal sign from
someone who didn't from someone we didn't get to make
one with before they passed. I've seen signs from my dad,

(00:59):
but I was asking for a spirit animal sign. Listening
to this and thinking about what animal I picture for
my dad. I immediately thought of a bald eagle. I felt, oh, no,
those are two special.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
I see them every now and then in Montana, but
I needed to let my dad decide. Hours later, I
was standing near the center of my home and what
did I see out my kitchen dining room windows. A
soaring bald eagle. It was magnificent. This was my sign.
I was reminded I need to be more present. My
dad is with me and that gives me hope in

(01:33):
so many ways. Thank you for your guidance and impact
on my life. You are making a difference. Oh isn't
that beautiful?

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Well, it really is. And it's a great reminder of
us not to limit the universe, that the signs that
we get are not always the ones we're expecting that
we would assume we would get. So thank you for
this lovely story. And I'm so glad that you know
that You're is with you because he is We love.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Our next one says, can I do a grid from
my home to give healing energy to my family member
who doesn't live with me? And where should I place
it in my home? Well, yes, you can do that.
You might also be very careful about your intent in
what you're doing with the grid, so that universal energy

(02:25):
is taking care of itself rather than particularly an intent
that you may think is lovely and wonderful and may
not be at all what your family member needs or wants.
The first thing that comes to mind is what is
your family member's favorite room in their house and how
might that be a place where they are often around? Like,

(02:48):
for example, I'm thinking in the kitchen and on the
kitchen counter, because maybe your family member spends a lot
of time in the kitchen.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Something else you could do is think about does this
family member live to the east of you, the south
of you, the west of you, and place the grid
in that direction, just like symbolically closer. What I like
to do when I'm setting up a grid to send
healing energy to someone, I like to take a photo
of them and put that in the center of the grid,

(03:15):
and I will usually write their name and their birth
date on the back of the photo. If I don't
have a photo, you can just write their name and
their birth date and then your intention for healing. In
Deb's right, you want to keep the intention as centered
on their needs rather than your needs for their healing. So,
for example, if someone's going through an addiction issue and

(03:38):
you want to send them healing energy, it might not
be their time to hit rock bottom and get to
that next stage of healing, but you can still send
them healing energy that they know that they are surrounded
by love and support exactly.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Those are good ideas, And when I send healing energy
for someone, I ask permission to do that. I don't
just randomly send healing in and a grid or something
like that without asking first.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
I think that's always important. And I like to get
a charger play or some type of bass for the grid,
and I put the photo or the name in the center.
I always put an obelisk or a pyramid shaped stone
in the center over the photo. And then you can
get just four single terminated stones pointing in the four
directions north, south, east, west into the photo and the

(04:25):
center stone, and then you can do other stones in
between if you want. And then you always want a
master crystal, like a wand shaped crystal that you use
to link all those stones together to your intention. Judy
Hall has a great book on how to create crystal
grids if you want more information. Our next one says,

(04:46):
I absolutely love the episode with your daughter, Chloe. It
gave me such great insight into the path that my
seven year old son may be on. I truly love
the stories and anecdotes that Samantha and Chloe shared and
felt like I was in the room with them listening
to then recall family memories of Chloe's psychic experiences. My
son sees energy, spirits, angels, and people's higher cells or souls.

(05:08):
He sees our cat Diego, who recently passed, and other
people's pets on the other side. He can also communicate
with his higher self like Chloe. Because he is able
to see so many unseen things, he is learning to
have boundaries to protect himself from the darker energies that
have tried to come in. I asked my guide several
months ago to send me someone to help my son

(05:29):
understand and manage his abilities, and shortly after I met
my reiki teacher who helps children with abilities. During the episode,
Samantha mentioned exercises she did with Chloe to open her
psychic abilities, including grounding and spinning the chakras. I'm newly
certified in Reiki two and very interested in chakras and
in this exercise for both my son and me, I

(05:52):
sense that we have psychic abilities. I'd like to learn
to be more intentional about how to channel my psychic
thoughts to be a better healer for my self, my family,
and our friends. I would love any more information you
can provide on exercises for this, and a big thanks
to Chloe for her vulnerability and openness. I learned so
much about what my son may be experiencing and how

(06:13):
I can better support them.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Well, thank you so much, and thank you for providing
that great example of asking you shall receive because you
just sent out that request. I would like a teacher
who can help guide my child, and tada, you met
your reiki teacher. I love that I have on my
website an ebook about how to support your intuitive child.
If you just go to Samantha Fey dot com and

(06:36):
click e Courses, you'll find it there. And if you
check out my Chakra Guided Meditation MP Three on my website,
it's the exact thing process that I taught Chloe to do.
But in addition to that, the Sondra Anastasia has a
great system of books that you can find online that

(06:57):
these are the system of books that John Edward used
to help him learn to become a medium, and so
they're really good, practical, hands on workbooks. And again that's
the Anastasia system. So I hope that helps.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Lovely, okay, our next one says, I'll wait before I
go that in case I have not said this on air,
that episode with you and Chloe made me cry because
it was it did because it was so beautiful, so articulate,
Chloe is an amazing young woman. Yeah, she was an

(07:31):
amazing little girl, and to have watched her grow up
to be this poised, charming, articulate, kind young woman is
just such testament to her and to Samantha's ability as
a mother. And what a cool thing that you have
raised such an amazing daughter. I'm just oh say that
about Cluk thank you.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Jib well before she's all upset now because she's the
only child who hasn't been on the show.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Well bring her on, because you know, Tory and I
could have a lot to talk about.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Oh gosh, you guys could do five episodes on your
books because you guys all love and hate the same books.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
I know it's so much fun to talk to Tory
about books, So that would be fun. Okay, think about
that all right. Next one says I've always been a
little on the sensitive side, generally feeling something before it happens,
but especially being in tune with someone else's emotions and
feelings without them saying anything. People often seek me out

(08:33):
to tell me about their problems or get things off
their chest. I appreciate being able to help someone in
some small way. Often I go to an antique mall,
a flea market, or entering an old building that is
currently busy with people, and I get really lightheaded and
I feel like I might faint. It passes and comes

(08:56):
back in waves, and once or twice I've had to
completely leave an old building or an antique shop. I
have no known health problems that would cause this. Is
there a chance that I'm sensitive to energy from objects
that belong to people or energy and old buildings?

Speaker 4 (09:15):
Could this mean.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
I'm into it? Is there a feeling that is commonly
felt in picking up on this kind of energy? If
this is the case, is there a crystal I can carry?

Speaker 4 (09:25):
I love this question.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
First of all, let me recommend before I forget it,
Mary Ann Wenkowski's work. She writes about being able to
walk into a store like you're describing a flea market
or an antique store, and sensing all sorts of information
from objects in that store.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Oh, that's right. And she sells those quince seeds that
her family in Italy makes to prevent you from taking
home headshakers.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
I forgot about that.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Right Kowski, She's just amazing. The short answer to your
question is yes, indeed, you are picking up on information
coming to you from inside those buildings, from objects there.
Samantha once was able to talk to a client years
ago who she Samantha could tell, was affected by a

(10:22):
teapot that she had purchased at a junk store. Samantha
just randomly said that it felt.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Random to me. It wasn't a Samantha, well, so it was.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
We were doing the reading on the phone, you and me,
right were I just kind of I probably interrupted you.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
I don't remember what. I just remember.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
It just popped into my head. I saw this teapot
in like a glass hutch, and I knew there was
a ghost attached to it.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
You did, And she said to the to the quirret,
did you recently buy a teapot from some kind of
junk store? And the woman said, yeah, it's in this
glass guvered and sure enough in Samantha said, we might
want to get rid of the So you asked the question,
could it mean I'm intuitive? We are all intuitive?

Speaker 4 (11:06):
I bet you.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
In the year Samantha and I have been doing this podcast,
we have said that sentence nine million, four hundred and
eighty two thousand times. Everybody is intuitive. What makes what
you're doing unique? Isn't your intuitive ability. Particularly, it's your
intuitive ability in this particular area. And so given that, yes,

(11:29):
there are stones that can be helpful to that, any
kind and Samantha's probably going to be more specific than
I will be, but any kind of dark stone, urmaline, brown,
I'm thinking brownstones for some reason.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Here's Samantha, that means them to ground the energy.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
That's exactly right. Brownstones like tiger's.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Eye or mahogany obsidian.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Mahogany obsidian, any of those colored stones can be very helpful.
And I would suggest if you're going to go into
a place like this, that you wear it in your
pocket on the left side of your body, because that's
the side of our body that receives information. And of
course also blackstones. We know that urmalane or haematite or

(12:14):
any of those kind of colored stones can also be helpful.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
There.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
You know, what I've started trying to do, deb is
trust my own crystal knowledge rather than jumping to Melody
or Cassandra or Judy.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
Uh huh.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
And what I was reading this question, what intuitively popped
into my mind was golden rude isle, like a rudleited quartz,
golden rutlated quartz. I think if she had a necklace
of that, it would be helpful, because what's happening to
her is that she is she is an empathic clarcentient.
And so Deb's right, we are all intuitive, but learning

(12:49):
how your intuition shows up for you the strongest, I think,
is a really good thing because it'll help you navigate
your own energy more easily. And so as an empathic clarcentient,
you are going to pick up on energies not only
in an antique mall or a flea market in an
old haunted building, but you're also going to do this
when you walk into it anywhere, or when you encounter
different people. So don't stop going to these places.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
Just wear a.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Crystal for protection. Put up your psychic shield. Just yesterday,
Chloe and I were going around shopping for back to
school stuff, and she wanted to stop at a used
clothing store that has like all these young kid brands
that she likes.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
And I was like, okay.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
So we get there, and I always carry one of
my crystal sprays in my car, and I said, all right, wait,
wait before we go in, and I sprinted us all
down and she picked out two things and we get
into the car, I sprinted the clothes down and then
we got home we put them right in the wash. Absolutely,
So I think it's just important to remember that this

(13:52):
is an ability you have, and this is how you
can work with it, not just see it as ugh.
I can't go to antique malls anymore.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
I think we need a baseline of knowledge of what
the stones are meant to do, what their universal jobs are,
and then how do they work with us. I just
this past week taught the first session of my three
session to road course in to road Course, and I
was talking about in the box I keep my deck

(14:24):
in and I was saying, and there's some crystals in
the bottom of this box and I'm not going to
tell you what they are. And you can see all
the students in the class en poise wanting to know
exactly what rock I was going to recommend. I said,
I don't you need to figure out which stone works
for you in communicating with your deck, so that the
choice of what stones you might include really do become

(14:46):
your own.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
I think that's such a good point. That's why you're
such a great teacher.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Thank you, dear.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
All right, let's take our first break and we'll be
right back.

Speaker 3 (15:00):

both step and I would light to say a real
big thank you for all the oldest that we've already received.

(16:08):
We are both feeling truly blessed. Thank you and see
you soon. Welcome back.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Our next one says, I first started listening to you
years ago when I was hoping to manifest a baby
and my partner wasn't completely on board. I discovered your
Spirit Babies podcast and was instantly hooked. You open my
eyes to your psychic manifesting miracles and touro courses, and
I'm excited to continue on my journey of intuitive development.
I can now confidently claim that I'm a psychic medium,

(16:41):
though I still have a ways to go before I
feel confident enough to give professional readings. And I finally
gave birth to my son in twenty twenty four. I'm
so happy to be a mom at the age of
forty two. Since giving birth, I've been feeling a bit
stagnant in the manifestation process when it comes to new goals,
and I have a question. I'm hoping you both can
help me with. What does it mean when you ask

(17:04):
your divination tools like a pendulum or to row cards
a question, you receive an answer, but then it doesn't
end up happening. What can I do to get more
accurate answers from these tools. I'm asking because I've been
feeling a bit frustrated. It's hard to keep using these
tools when the answers don't feel honest or reliable. Should
I try a different pendulum or maybe a new set

(17:26):
of cards. Also, just being real here, I was asking
about something I didn't want to do but felt like
I had to do in order to help my family financially.
I was in serious talks with someone about selling my
business to pay off our debt. Now I'm wondering if
that emotional conflict may have thrown off the reading. I

(17:47):
was given an offer, but it wasn't what my pendulum
or cards told me. I ultimately turned down the offer
in the end. Okay, this is such a good question,
and it's one I think both deb and I have
grappled with over the years. For me personally, the pendulum
has never given me accurate answers for myself, which is

(18:08):
why I tend to use the pendulum more for other
people and for healing work. The Toureau cards, they don't
really give me specific answers either. What they do and
what I feel has happened for you as well, is
they hold up a mirror to me and help me
realize what I actually do want or don't want. So

(18:30):
it might be that you were getting these inaccurate answers
so that your guides could be like, hey, yeah, this
might help you pay off some debt, but it's not
what you want. And it reminds me of and I
know I've mentioned this before, but it's one of my
favorite scenes from one of my favorite shows, and it's
when Frasier is dating two women and he likes them

(18:53):
both and he doesn't know what to do, and so
his brother Niles says, I'm going to flip a coin
pick heads or tails. Picks heads for this girl, tails
for this girl. It's every lady's dream. Right as Niles
is flipping the coin, he grabs it and says, you
know exactly what you want this coin to land on.
You want it to be on ahead or on a tail.

(19:16):
You don't need this quarter. Isn't it such a great exercise?
Because Fraser was like, yeah, I do exactly now think
I want fay, And that's how that goes. But it
always taught me that when we are personally consulting the
cards or the pendulum, we pretty much know what we
want the answer to be, and when we don't get
the answer we want, that's instructive. And when we do

(19:39):
get the answer we want. That's also instructive. So again,
just like Carl Young has taught throughout his career the cards,
any inter introspection that we do through something like the
archetypes of the Toureau Cards are really about helping us
to drill down into who we are and what we
want now. Aside from all of that, I also think

(20:01):
the way you freeze the question is important, and we
talked about this on a recent episode. Rather than saying
should I sell my business to payoff debt, what you
want to do is say, is the month of August
twenty twenty five the best time for me to sell
the business to pay off this debt? That might help
you get clearer answers.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
I agree with almost everything you've said, and particularly the
wording of the question. That's absolutely true. Torou doesn't tell
time well, so I don't ever use it to say when.
But what I do ask it to do is to
help me look at various aspects of the question, because
those archetypes will often bring up considerations that I had

(20:45):
not yet thought of in making that decision. Torow is
not going to make that decision for you. It's not
going to tell you what to do or not do.
Torow is, like you say, going to hold up a mirror.
Torow is going to ask you to look at your
own in or knowing as you say. And that's a
really important part of the process.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
You know what else I do sometimes if I'm trying
to make a decision like this, I do two Celtic
Cross spreads, or I'll say, show me what my life
will look like if I sell this business, and I
do the Celtic crossbread, and then I reshuffle the cards,
knock out the energy, cut the cards, all of that,
and do another Celtic crossbread. Show me what my life

(21:29):
will look like if I do not sell this business.
That's also very instructive.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
Well it is.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
That's also a really good thing to say. One of
her questions in one of her comments here was should
she try a new set of cards. I don't know
what deck you work with, but I have lots of
lovely to row decks. I have one deck that has
always been and probably always will be the deck that
I use really for me. I don't think changing deck

(21:58):
is going to change anything. The change has to come
from within you, I think. And the other thing is
timing you gave birth to a child last year, so
you're the mother of a one year old. You've also
got all this other consideration stuff going on. That's what
they Be patient with yourself, and for another Remember that
divine timing is often different from human timing.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
And I know that we live in.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
A world where things are supposed to happen fast, and
I guess, because I'm old, I don't believe that, and
I sure don't always see it that way. And I
truly believe the divine timing part is as it may be,
to wait for it sometimes is freely. In the end,
the only real timing there.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
Is, Okay.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Our next question says, last week.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
I lost my grandma. Oh, I'm so sorry.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
We were incredibly close, and I had the honor of speaking.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
At her funeral.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
On my one and a half hour drive home, I
was searching for an episode of Psychic Teachers to help
me feel connected and comforted and closer to her. I
decided to scroll without looking and trust whatever episode I
landed on would be the one I was meant to hear.
The episode that came up was the Gift of Grief

(23:19):
from twenty twenty one, when Joe mentioned being from Buffalo
and his love for the bills.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
My job dropped.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
I was driving home to Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
I should mention for newer listeners. That was an interview
I did with Joe mccullian, who wrote the book My
Search for Christopher on the other Side and were not
done yet, Pops, and he talks about how he loved
the Buffalo Bills and that was often a sign he
would get from his son in heaven. So it's a
really beautiful story.

Speaker 4 (23:53):
Oh wonderful, Okay.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
I was driving home from Buffalo while listening, and my
grandmother had absolutely love the Bills at her funeral. I
even joked that I'd be lighting the candle I received
for her before every game. So to hear those words
on that particular episode from a fellow Buffalonian felt like

(24:18):
such a beautiful sign. It was truly a gift from
my grandma, from Joe, Christopher.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
And you two.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Thank you for what you do. Your show has brought
so much peace and comfort to me during this season
of grief. I talked with my grandma every day and
know that she is here with me, although not physically.
I'm already seeing many signs from her that I may
not have noticed. Before without this podcast. Thank you for

(24:47):
all you do. Be good, do good, God, bless and
go bills. So let me say that beyond that again,
I'm very sorry about your grandma. Golly, what a lovely,
lovely gift she has given you and continues to give you.
And how wonderful that you recognize those gifts when they come.

(25:08):
You are really blessed and we're blessed that you listen
to this show. Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
All right, Our next one says I used to do
something when I was in my teens that I haven't
heard of anywhere else and was wondering if you guys
would have an explanation. I would lie in my bed
in total darkness and say to myself, I want to
see what will happen, and then I would state a
specific date or destination. I would then see myself flying

(25:34):
in a winding tunnel. I would be traveling the tunnel
for a few minutes until I ap peered at the
other end and could actually see and hear what my
future self would be seeing and hearing. Often what I
saw was illogical to me at the time, but then
it would happen in the future and I would understand
For example, once I saw myself sleeping in a girls
camp when I was in the Army cadets. I was

(25:57):
wondering why when I got there that weekend, and it's
because the guy's camp was being painted, which I hadn't known.
Another time, in my town we change schools when we
get to grade seven. I hadn't visited the other school,
so I asked to see something that would happen at
that school. I saw that I was sitting in front
of the class, something that I would never do normally

(26:19):
because I'm very shy. The teacher was talking about geography.
His desk was installed in the corner of the class
instead of being in the front. I saw his face,
but I had never seen him at the time, and
he had a smoking pipe on his desk. Well, that's
exactly what happened. I would do this regularly, and once
even explained to one of my brothers how to do it.

(26:40):
So was it clairvoyance, reading the Acacia records or some
kind of remote future viewing? It wasn't symbolic like it
is for me now. It was very clear and detailed.

Speaker 4 (26:52):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
Okay, so yeah, that is called future viewing, and sure
I've read about it. It's talked about in the Gateway
program process that we covered on a prior show, and
you can learn how to do it at the Monroe Institute.
I've been able to do it unconsciously in my dreams,
but to lay in bed and just say, hey, I'd

(27:14):
like to see what I'm doing on June first, twenty
twenty six. No, I've never been able to do that.
I think that is beyond cool. Have you ever been able.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
To do that?

Speaker 4 (27:24):
No, how wonderful am I?

Speaker 2 (27:26):
That's amazing, it really is, and I'm more like he is.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
Now.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
I do a meditation where I get myself into my
meditative space, which is my crystal cave in my mind's eye,
and then I do this guided meditation where I see
myself walking to this end of a dock and climbing
into a boat where my guide is waiting for me,
and I ask him to take me to an event
I know is coming up. Then I just want more

(27:51):
information or insight on and same as this listener. I'll
get information, but it's more symbolic and it's not as
crystal clear as my geography teacher caught Caddy corner desk
smoking a pipe and I'm sitting in the front. That's
absolutely amazing.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Truly is wow. It makes you.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Wonder because they say that with every year our pineal
gland gets more and more calcified and smaller as we grow.
And so I wonder if when we're young, preteen and teen,
if our pineal gland is still new and shiny.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
It could be so if I don't know, interesting Okay.
Our next one says, I had an experience the other
day I would love your opinion about like Maine. Last week,
I was walking on a sidewalk near the ceramics studio
I use when a juvenile peregrine falcon dropped a higeon

(28:46):
it was snacking.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
On right in front of me. Yikes.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
I could feel the wind from the force of the
animal dropping. Google said that it could mean an opportunity
or fortune might drop unexpectedly in my lap. I wonder
what you think about the meaning of this. I was
very surprised to identify it as a baby peregrine, but
they are common.

Speaker 4 (29:12):
In my area apparently. Okay.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
My first thought is a baby peregrine falcon learning how
to hunt and catch a bird that was probably bigger
than it dropped it and that was the end of that.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
That just happens.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Sometimes those things just are what they are. I would
invite you to do something different with this, however, First
is what a peagon falcons mean to you? Second, what
do pigeons mean to you? To personalize this event, to
think about what those two birds may mean for you

(29:52):
in your life.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Well, you know, to me, a falcon is wild and free.
Even when you have teamed a falcon, you have to
wear a leather glove because I.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
Don't think you can tame a falcon better.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Well, I mean back in the Middle Ages, remember that
movie with Matthew Broderick and Michelle Lafer.

Speaker 4 (30:11):
No, but I get the idea, Okay.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Well, anyway, they're just wild and free. Whereas to me,
a pigeon is more domesticated. And so I wonder if
it's a symbol dropping into her lap about this juxtaposition
going on in her life. Does she feel domesticated? Does
she want to be wild and free? Does she live
wild and free? And she kind of wants to be

(30:34):
domesticated and have more of a homing center, because I
mean that's what we associate pigeons with, a homing they
have that homing device where they always know how to
return home, whereas a falcon just does whatever the heck
he wants.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
So what do those birds symbolize to you?

Speaker 4 (30:50):
And what and who you are and your life? There
you go.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Okay, let's take our last break and we'll be waight
back to finish some of these wonderful questions and stories.
Welcome back. Our next one says I have been working
on connecting to my abilities. I have a few experiences,
but I'm still relatively new and inexperienced. I've been having
what I can only describe as instructional dreams. I've had

(31:16):
four so far. And the first dream, I was reading
to row for my mother and every card was of
the same suit. In the second dream, I was sitting
with an older man who was showing me crystals and
told me I needed to work with a certain one.
It was pinkish orange in color, but all of the
pink orange crystals at a crystal shop in town did
not have it. I am yet to find this crystal.

(31:38):
In the third dream, I was sitting with a younger
woman who was repeating three three, three over and over.
And in dream four, I was with my doctor, who
I've been seeing for the past twenty five years. We
were talking about crystals and she told me that moldavite
isn't for me. She asked what I was wearing at
the moment, and I told her Libyan desert glass, and
her eyes widened and she told me to stick clear,

(31:59):
to to clear courts. Well, that's really interesting. It does
seem as though you are having instructive dreams, but they're
also very symbolic. You have a lot of archetypes in here.
You have the mother, you have the doctor, you have
a young woman. You also have numerology and crystals. So
I would really spend some time breaking these dreams down

(32:22):
in your dictionary in terms of the symbols and the archetypes,
rather than taking them at their face value. I think
it's really fun to really dive in deep. What is
for example, in the dream you have with the older
man who was telling you to work with a certain
crystal that was pinkish orange in color, Well, what is
pink and orange? That is that connection between the second

(32:44):
chakra and the fourth chakra. So what can you do
to work on those two chakras? The number three three
three is all about the divine trinity. It's all about
creativity and communication and really getting in touch with the
power of three in your own life. So I would
look at moltivate. Why isn't moltivate for you? Do some

(33:07):
research on that. Look into clear courts. What kind of
clear courts did you have? I do think these are
instructive dreams, but I wouldn't take them literally. I would
examine their symbolic representations and take instruction from that. I
would look beautiful about our dreams.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
It's true, this is a treasure trove of information. Okay,
this person writes, I am writing to you as I
am in the midst of grief of losing my dear
cat Minnie. She was a beautiful ginger girl, and she
was our whole world. I have been desperately looking and
asking for signs for five weeks now to know she

(33:45):
is okay and forgives us and is at peace and
still with us. But I have not seen what I
ask for. How can I speak to her and feel her?
Oh golly, this one hurts. I am so so very
sorry about your loss of many I know and understand

(34:06):
how a four legged family member can be your whole world.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
I get.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
I also know that when our four legged loved ones crossover,
the crossing and what happens afterwards is exactly the same
as two legged folks. In many ways, she is free
from that body. She can be joyful, playful, and do

(34:36):
think she might not have been able to do before
she crossed over. She is meeting old loved ones and
new friends. She is connecting to her soul self. She's
busy on the other side. Time on the other side

(34:57):
is different than time on this side. And so what
seems like an eternity of five weeks for you may
be you'll like ten minutes to many you don't know.
First of all, I invite you to be patient, to
know that she may come in ways you're not expecting.

(35:21):
I know that you would like for her to come
and sit down at the foot of your bed and
have a conversation with you. Believe me, I know that desire.
I've had it, I understand it. Then I will tell
you that you may not seek her or be able
to communicate with her in such a direct way. But

(35:41):
I bet you that one night, in the middle of
the night, you're going to wake up because you know
somebody jumped on the foot of the bed and my
sweet Merlin would do that for me every once in
a while. But and that may not be your experience.
There may be a different one for you. But it's
some whole. You will get the assurance that you may

(36:05):
not hear from me, that she really is fine. There
is no need for her to forgive you. She knows,
absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you did
the very best for her. You knew attitude. She knows
that she knows she's at peace, and she wants you

(36:26):
to be at peace. And it's going to take a while.
When I wrote that book about grief twenty years ago,
as most of you know, that book is dedicated to Merlin.
And what I wrote about in that book about that
grief is it's exactly the same as human grief.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
Elizabeth Koopler Ross.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
Taught us that it takes at least a year to
work our way through the emotions of grief. You can't
rush grief. Grief is going to be grief for as
long as it's going to be, So be kind to
you yourself, be patient for you to yourself. One of
the things that may be helpful to you in dealing

(37:07):
with this terrible time is to do some things in
honor of Many. Might you do some donations to a
local animal shelter. Might you plant a tree somewhere in
her honor? Do something that is a public acknowledgment of
who she is and what she means to you and

(37:31):
is helpful to other folks along the way. Those are
some suggestions, But I can tell you that Many knows
that you love her and that she is fine.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Beautifully said Tom. That's what easy getting over the loss
of our fore legged friends.

Speaker 4 (37:48):
Get over it, you don't.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
One of our listeners emailed us that their company now
offers days off for losing a four legged friend. Minded,
I think that amazing. I won't be amazing. Well, you know,
dev to ed the show, and to just offer up
love to all of our four legged friends and how
strong and tough and resilient and loving and lovable they are.

(38:12):
I thought it might be appropriate. We're probably completely inappropriate
to share one of my favorite poems. It's by Charles Bukowski,
and it's called the History of One Tough Mother mm mmm,
and it's it says he came to the door one night, wet, thin, beaten,

(38:33):
and terrorized a white, cross eyed tail as cat. I
took him in and fed him, and he stayed due
to trust me, until a friend drove up the driveway
and ran him over. I took what was left to
a vet who said, not much chance. Give him these pills.
His backbone is crushed, but it was crushed before and

(38:55):
somehow mended. If he lives, he'll never walk. Look at
these X rays. He's been shot. Look here, the pellets
are still there. Also, he once had a tail. I
took the cat back. It was a hot summer, one
of the hottest in decades. I put him on the
bathroom floor, gave him water and pills. He wouldn't eat.
He wouldn't touch the water. I dipped my finger into

(39:17):
it and wet his mouth, and I talked to him.
I didn't go anywhere. I put in a lot of
bathroom time and talked to him and gently touched him.
And he looked back at me with those pale, blue
crossed eyes. And as the days went by, he made
his first move, dragging himself forward by his front legs.
The rear ones wouldn't work. He made it to the

(39:39):
litter box, crawled over and in. It was like the
trumpet of possible victory blowing in that bathroom and into
the city. I related to that cat. I'd had it bad,
not that bad, but bad enough. One morning he got up,
stood up, fell back down and just looked at me.
You can make it, I said to him. Kept trying,

(40:00):
kept getting up, falling down. Finally he walked a few steps.
He was like a drunk. The rear legs just didn't
want to do it, and he fell again, rested, then
got up. You know the rest. Now he's better than ever,
cross eyed, almost toothless, but the grace is back, and
that look in his eyes never left. And now sometimes

(40:24):
I'm interviewed. They want to hear about life and literature,
and I get drunk and hold up my cross eyed
shot run over a detailed cat and I say, look,
look at this. But they don't understand. They say something
like you say, you've been influenced by Selene. No, I
hold up the cat. By what happens by things like this?

(40:45):
By this, I shake the cat, hold him up in
the smoky and drunken light. He's relaxed, he knows. It's
then that the interviews end. Although I'm proud sometimes when
I see the pictures later and there I am, and
there is the cat, and we are photographed together. He
too knows it's bullshit, but that somehow it all helps.

(41:08):
Do you like that poem?

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (41:11):
It didn't trying to hide cry. That is so wonderful.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
I love Charles Bukowski so much and he's one tough
mother mum m And I just think how beautiful the
universe is that this cat came to his door, and
how the two really clearly helped each other heal from
being beaten up and broken down by life. That's what
our animals do for us. And when we're grieving them,

(41:40):
it is hard and it is tough, and it is awful,
but it's also so important to remember the gifts they
gave to us and the gifts we gave to them.

Speaker 1 (41:51):
That exchange is just beyond words and beyond death, it
truly is. You may not be hearing from your departed
loved ones who have crossed the veil and the rainbow
bridge the way you want to, but I promise you
they may not be able to talk to you quite yet.

(42:11):
They're busy, but they know you're loving them. They're aware
of the emotion. Emotion transcends everything, It really does Okay, Samanvah,
let's on that cheerful note of that yat who survived
so many wonderful things.

Speaker 2 (42:28):
It's my favorite last line I think of any poem.
He too knows it's bullshit, but that somehow it all helps.
Is that the best?

Speaker 4 (42:39):
And that's a great, great line, It truly is.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
Well. Thank you guys so much for taking time to
send in your questions and stories. We hope you we've
given you some insight and some resources and maybe a
few things to lap over as well. Remember, as always,
to be the light for yourself and others.

Speaker 4 (42:58):
Take care everyone.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
