The gang splits up to have a couple very different adventures. Thwompwallop and Smolene go a bit south and encounter, among other things, a fable and an underwater city.
And then Tempo Boy, M.E., and Carfare Camel Chef head North toward the Portentate to track down the previous custodes. They also talk to a mountain and get a lot of mileage out of one secret code. Almost like the DM got tired and just let the plot keep happening.
