Welcome to a new episode of Game 7: The Sports, Business and Lifestyle Podcast. I’m Michael Elkins, labor and employment attorney founder of the law firm MLE Law, and your host.
My guest this month is New England Patriots Offensive Lineman, Marshall Newhouse. Marshall is a Super Bowl Champion and 10-year NFL Veteran. But Marshall is far more than a professional athlete.
Marshall is one of four current NFL players on the Athlete Advisory Board for the National Football League Players Association’s “One Team Partners” which is an investment arm of the league’s union. The OneTeam initiative aims to help athletes maximize the value of their name, image and likeness rights through three components: group licensing, athlete marketing, and venture investing.
Marshall is an investor with experience in private equity, venture capital and as an angel investor.
His investment base ranges from fitness brands like Peloton, to plant-based food brands Impossible Foods and Superseed Life.
In this episode, Marshall and I talk investing, business and how the modern athlete has evolved, taking greater control on and off the playing field.
This is a great episode for anyone who has an interest in business and sports. So sit back and listen to my conversation with investor/athlete, Marshall Newhouse.
Enjoy the episode!

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
