Pacers STUN Knicks + RIP Jim Irsay. Tony Dungy, Steve Simon, and Kevin Harlan Join!

(00:00-09:21) – Query & Company opens on a Hump Day Wednesday with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison by discussing the latest news in IndyCar with Roger Penske letting go three key figures from Team Penske an hour before the show. Jake provides his opinion on the decision by Roger Penske and tries to explain the magnitude of the situation by putting it in NFL terms.

(09:21-27:48) – Former Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy joins the program to share his reaction to finding out about the passing of Jim Irsay, states that he owes everything to the Irsay family and the Colts organization for keeping him connected to his father in his final years of life, tries to explain what it was about this city and the Hoosiers that connected with him to make him feel a part of this community, and shares what his son told him this morning. 

(27:48-46:16) – Pacers owner Steve Simon joins Query & Company to provide his thoughts on passing of Jim Irsay. He comments on the exuberance that Jim always had whenever he was around him, applauds the openness he had about his struggles in life, believes that Jim’s spirit was with the Pacers last night ensuring that Tyrese’s shot went through. Steve discusses all the recent improbable wins for the team in the last two weeks and his optimism in being able to retain Myles Turner after the season.

(46:16-1:10:01) – TNT play-by-play broadcaster Kevin Harlan joins the program from New York City to recap last night’s improbable win for the Indiana Pacers in game one of the Eastern Conference Finals, comments on the passing of Jim Irsay, expands on the level of joy that Reggie Miller has with this Pacers team, notes that there was a bit of the wear down effect down the stretch that he noticed by the New York Knicks, and admits that he can’t wait to listen to the radio race broadcast for the Indy 500 on Sunday.

(1:10:01-1:18:31) – After three consecutive segments with guests paying tribute to Jim Irsay, Jake shares some of his thoughts on the passing of the Indianapolis Colts owner.

(1:18:31-1:27:58) – The second hour of the show concludes with Jake and Eddie giving away more numbers for the Indy 500 numbers game!   

(1:27:58-1:51:36) – ESPN.com’s Stephen Holder makes his second appearance of the week on Query & Company, but this time with Jake Query to share some of the things that first come to mind when he thinks of Jim Irsay. He highlights some things that people might not have known about Jim, and comments about the chaotic win last night for the Indiana Pacers over the New York Knicks.  

(1:51:36-1:58:56) – Jake and Eddie give away some more numbers for their Indy 500 numbers game and two pairs of tickets for two listeners to attend the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500-mile race!

(1:58:56-2:09:10) – Today’s show closes out with Jake sharing some final thoughts on the passing of Jim Irsay. Jake credits a lot of the city’s success to Irsay’s decisions as the general manager of the Colts when they first moved to Indianapolis.
