Today is the last chance to book a reading for this season at https://www.quietmindastrology.com/reading

On Thursday, July 10th, we experience a Full Moon in Sagittarius, within the Purva-Ashada Nakshatra—one of the most forceful and clarifying lunar mansions in Vedic astrology.

This episode explores why this full moon is so emotionally potent, artistically charged, and spiritually clarifying. The full moon always marks culmination, celebration, and emotional illumination—a moment when we can’t ignore what’s rising to the surface.

In this case, the light of the full moon shines in Purvashadha, a Venus-ruled nakshatra whose very name means “the undefeated.” It carries the force of water, the fierceness of truth, and the quiet determination of someone like Rosa Parks—a Purvashadha Ascendant—who simply said “no” to injustice and sparked a movement.

This nakshatra is symbolized by a winnowing basket, an agricultural tool that separates the wheat from the chaff. That’s what this moon is asking of you:

What’s real? What’s noise? What’s ready to be burned away so that your deeper truth can be heard?

You’ll also hear:

– Why Venus rules this full moon and how to use that to refine what you truly love

– What Apas, the water deity, teaches about emotional expression and purification

– How to work with the element of force (Ugra)—not aggressively, but creatively and consciously

– Why emotional rituals, music, journaling, and literal fire ceremonies are powerful tools this week

– A look at inspirational Purvashadha natives like James Hetfield and Trent Reznor, and how they express this burning, purifying energy through music

You’ll be invited to:

– Use the 80/20 principle in your emotional and creative life

– Identify what’s draining your energy and what fills your cup

– Filter through relationships, projects, and patterns that no longer serve

– Consider doing a burn ritual, journaling session, or emotional release practice

(00:00):
On Thursday, July 10th, 2025, wehave a Full Moon in Sagittarius
in the Purva Ashada Nakshatra. So the Full Moon, as always, is
a time of completion, celebration, a fulfillment.

(00:20):
It brings things to the surface that need to be seen and
acknowledged. It actually brings up more water
in the grass. It actually brings out more
animals at night because there'smore light to hunt.
So we see this happening in the sign of Sagittarius, which can
be adventurous and leading us into new growth in the

(00:42):
nakshatra, the smaller star inside of Sagittarius called
Delta Sagittari. This nakshatra or lunar mansion
or star is about some certain themes that we're going to talk
about today and how you can bestwork with them.
And if you want to know how to work with everything in your
chart, you can get your free birth chart at Quiet Mind

(01:03):
astrology.com and you can schedule a reading there.
And the links are below as well if you want some clarity on how
to work with all these things for yourself.
And the first thing to talk about is what a full moon is.
So again, it's a culmination completion and a good day for
doing some sort of celebratory practice.
Also, there tends to be more emergency room visits on the day

(01:26):
of the full moon. So it's a good day to proceed
with caution and it can bring upa lot of stuff to the surface.
So in Pervashata, you can think of pervashata purification.
Now there are two other pervas, Perva Vajapada and Perva
Vaalguni. Those ones don't necessarily
associate with purification in the same way.

(01:46):
So not to confuse those, but Pervashata is purifying and a
shot of means undefeated or unconquered one.
And the symbol for this is a winnowing basket.
So I don't know if you've ever seen one.
You can look it up on YouTube, but it's a pretty slow process.

(02:06):
But it's a very necessary process to separate the wheat
from the chaff, to harvest wheat.
So it's a way of separating things that don't actually need
to be in your life from the things that do need to be in
your life. So when this full moon comes
through, it brings to the surface what needs to be
filtered out of your life and what needs to be harvested,

(02:31):
separating the wheat from the chaff, metaphorically, maybe
even literally if you work on a farm and it's the nakshatra is
ruled by Venus. So Venus is about desire, love,
beauty, art. So we are purifying and
filtering through what we reallylove this week.

(02:51):
So as you go through this week, just look at what do you really
love? What do you not love?
What do you want to filter out? What do you want to keep in?
And there can be very literal ways to do this, like the 8020
principle, which has been shown through all sorts of fields,
like in so many contexts. So like 20% of the work you do

(03:12):
will make 80% of your income. And they're probably spending a
lot of time doing things that aren't so important that you
could filter down. And this can keep sort of
compounding over time as you do these sort of things.
Maybe 20% of the time you spend on your devices or phones or in

(03:32):
your hobbies or your free time produces 80% of your happiness
and fulfillment of your free time, your hobbies.
So maybe you really love like playing an instrument or doing
an activity, but you're only spending like 20% of your time
doing that. So this is a good time this week
to filter through those things and really assess as you go

(03:54):
through the week what things arebringing you the sense of
fulfillment and what things are not.
The powerful thing about this nakshatra is it's very
determined, very able to persevere and work through
things. So if there's something like a
truth that needs to be spoken, this is a good week to address
those truths or get to the truthof the matter.

(04:18):
A famous ascendant who has Pervashada ascendant is Rosa
Parks, who is famous for not giving up her seat on the bus
during segregation in the 60s inthe US.
And it's basically like seeing the injustice in a situation,
seeing like this doesn't really make sense.
This isn't really fair doing something about it.

(04:41):
And everything I've seen in whatshe says, it was a peaceful
situation. She just said no, I'm not going
to move. And they called the cops and
they brought her to jail. And there was no violence or
anger or frustration. It was just this truth of the
matter of this is not just this is not right.
It had a huge snowball effect tothe civil rights movement in the
US. So these little choices are very

(05:06):
conscious for people who have perva shot in their chart like a
moon or ascendant. But for all of us now, as we go
through this week, it is something that is present and to
be conscious of, and it's more easy to spot these things.
Another example, two people who've been very inspirational
to me are James Hetfield and Trent Reznor, the front men of

(05:29):
Metallica and 9 Inch Nails heavymetal bands.
So there is an element of force or ugra in the Sanskrit force,
in this nakshatra. There are actually some pretty
influential verbachata people who have this as well, have been
very forceful and use it as dictators, as rulers.

(05:49):
But those are two examples of people using the force of this
energy in a forceful way in music and art, which is the
Venus side of this. So this is a great week for
musical expression, listening tomusic, listening to more
energetic or even aggressive music, like if you're into metal
or heavy music, hit or intense music, this can be fun and

(06:11):
energizing, especially if you like to go work out or move a
lot of energy. This is a great thing for that
and those two, actually, Reznor has a song called Burn and
Hetfield has a song called Fuel, all about fuel and fire.
So there is a purifying energy. Metallica also has a song called
Purify. So there's a purification energy

(06:34):
here, a burning energy. This is actually a good week for
doing some sort of physical ritual burning.
Like maybe you want to write down the things that you're
filtering out of your life that you're ready to let go of.
Write it all down, RIP it up andburn it.
So in the Vedic tradition, that's called a puja and it's
there's a lot more steps to it or a lot more ritual to it.

(06:54):
But if you're familiar with thator some sort of puja ceremony to
be very powerful this week as well.
But more sort of westernized approach is literally just
writing down the things you wantto let go of and just burning it
with intention of this intentionto, I am now letting go and
releasing these things and no longer serving.
Then you can do that physically or energetically or in

(07:16):
meditation as well. So with that, there's a
purification, there's the burning energy, there's a
winnowing energy filtering the wheat from the chaff, but
there's also the Appas deity associated with this.
So there's kind of a mix of a lot of elements here.
And Appas is the water deity. So the way this shows up is a

(07:38):
lot of times these people have big international influence
working overseas, working with emotions and having an emotional
impact on society. As the people I mentioned,
obviously musicians work with emotions a lot.
So working with your emotions this week is very favorable.
And this could be through therapy, through meditation,

(07:59):
through spiritual practices, through journaling, actually
getting in the water if you livenear a body of water or if you
have a bath, taking a bath, being in the water, energy
drinking lots of water. Very favorable this week as
always, but especially this week.
And that water has an element offorce.
Water is very adaptable. Water can deteriorate and wear

(08:23):
down rock so the softest thing can wear out the and transform
the hardest thing in elements. So water can be a strong force
of nature. I actually had a hurricane
passed by where I live a couple weeks ago and it destroyed a
bunch of structures that weren'tdidn't have a strong foundation.

(08:45):
So that's an element of this kind of energy like Pervasada
is. It destroys the structures that
don't have a strong foundation like water can do.
Obviously fire can do that to the purification of element and
the burning element. But think of the water side of
like expressing your emotions topurify, to get to the truth, to

(09:06):
express what needs to be expressed this week and filter
out what needs to be filtered out so you can get to the truth
of the matter. Another ascendant who has this
is the singer Lord who has a newalbum coming out and
controversial album cover, whichis very Venusian.
And these people tend to move towards controversy, but in a

(09:26):
sort of creative way or sort of non direct way.
So the force comes out in an interesting way.
Sometimes it is very direct, butgenerally it's more creative and
sort of interesting approach to how to have an influence on
society or make a statement or influence change.

(09:46):
Again, Rosa Parks is a great example of just simply not not
getting up a sort of peaceful protest and having a huge
snowball effect. So this week maybe you need to
quiet quit your job. That's sort of the modern
version of this. I don't recommend that.
I think it's sort of passive aggressive.
I think you should be just focusing on doing what you love

(10:07):
and move towards that as best you can.
And that's a big part of what I teach and what I'm so passionate
about in astrology is like the birth chart is a map of your
consciousness, of your expression and your gifts.
And the more you move towards it, the more fulfilled you are.
And the more you don't do it, the more you suffer and
struggle. I can say for myself, the more I
suffer and struggle when I'm notmoving towards my purpose and

(10:29):
not expressing my gifts. Maybe you feel that way as well.
So astrology gives us the map and the guideline to do that.
And if you want more guidance onyour chart, you can book a
reading at quietmanastrology.com.
You can sign up for the wait list for the mentorship, which
will be opening in August and it's just a few weeks away
really when we start the mentorship class.
This is my most in depth, thorough training to help you

(10:50):
understand every part of your chart and how to read charts and
how to interpret every piece of the chart.
So I'm excited to share that. And this week we also are going
to have Saturn go retrograde in Pisces.
We're going to talk about that. And then the special episode and
Mercury's going to go retrogradein Cancer.
So that would be a special episode as well.
But right now the big thing is on Thursday, the the Sun and the

(11:16):
Moon are opposite each other. So this is a full moon.
So it's bringing all these things to the surface, the truth
to the surface, to filter out what is not true, what's not,
serving you to purify and to help you connect to what you
really love and what really matters to you.
And then we'll talk about the Saturn and Mercury retrogrades
in upcoming episodes. If you found this episode
