From July 17th 2025 until August11th we have Mercury retrograde
in fully in the sign of Cancer. This is the second of three
Mercury retrogrades happening in2025, all of them in water sign.
So the first one was in Pisces. This one now is in the water

sign of Cancer. Next one will be in Scorpio.
So we are moving through emotions of the past that need
to be felt, need to feel them, so we can heal them and resolve
them and move forward and createnew space for new experiences.

But the Mercury retrograde oftengets a reputation of being
something scary to worry about. Things are going to go bad.
You're going to have mistakes, delay, setbacks.
I just had some travel and yes, there was a delayed flight.
Of course, these things happen all the time, but people who are
more Mercury dominant in their chart are going to experience
these more. Or if you're in a Mercury Dasha,

or if there's other significant Mercury influences going on in
your chart in your life as this transit happens.
So this started really on June 29th.
So think back June 29th. What was going on at the end of
June for you, especially emotionally, internally?
This is where the story really begins for this transit.

And it's going to go all the wayreally until August 30th.

So about two months really. This is a window of impact where
Mercury hits 10° of Pusha on June 29th.
Needing to communicate, talk about, understand, and
intellectually understand something that is moving
emotionally within you. Pushes about where you find
nourishment, where you find protection.
(02:37):
What really fills your heart andyour soul.
Mercury's understanding intellectually these things.
So these energies are a bit at odds, like Mercury is not so
kind with the moon energy. So when these energies are
together there could be a conflict between the head and
the heart or a difficulty understanding something or
difficulty over analyzing something that is meant to be
(03:00):
just felt and not thought about so much.
So a big part of the modern human experience where we have
concepts and ideas and understanding and so much of our
education in the Western world is about the mind and logic and
what makes sense. And so much of the emotional
world is not about the logic or what makes sense.
(03:21):
It's about what feels aligned. In the same way, weather
patterns don't always make sense, that as best as we can
understand them, they can be unpredictable.
There can be sudden storms, sudden winds, sudden changes of
weather. This can happen emotionally as
well. Emotions are not logical, they
are felt so they can come and goat their own whims.
(03:42):
And that kind of teaches us where we're not really in
control of everything like we often think we are in the
Mercury side of things, the intellect, we think we're in
control. We think we have free will and
of everything and we can make everything happen if we will it
enough. Sometimes that might be true,
but then there's these humbling experiences in life that teach
us to be more present in our feelings and our emotion.
(04:04):
And when Mercury now goes retrograde through Cancer, there
is some need to go back to unresolved unmet needs, unspoken
things, speak those things, meetthose needs, feel those emotions
and let them process fully through.
So there's a lot of ways it's going to show up.

So whether you're rising or moonsign is whatever they are,

And there's some practices, somereflection prompts you can do
for each one. And this can give you some
insight into how to work with this, like actually practically

just not just learn about the transit and say this is going to
happen, but it's a time. It's an opportune time to work
with a certain energy that's only going to be here now.
Like it is unique combination ofeverything going on in the
world. It's just this one special
moment of time. And if we miss it, it's not the
end of the world that life goes on, but it's I think an

opportunity to grow and heal andunderstand ourselves at a deeper
level and really fully be in this moment of this two-month
window. And I've got space in the guide
as well where you can put your own notes of what you observed
during this window. But I'm going to talk through
again some of the highlights of this.
So again, June 29th is when the story really begins.
(05:31):
Start to uncover some emotional and communication patterns that
need to be revisited as we move on through the retrograde.
So you want to look back to June29th, What was surfacing for you
in your relationships, your conversations, your inner
dialogue as well? The moon and Cancer energy,
which is ruled by the moon, has this influence over our emotions
(05:51):
and our mental state. And in the Vedic text, they say
that actually all emotions actually begin with our
thoughts. So if we're thinking
disempowering negative thoughts,we're going to have
disempowering emotions as well. Sometimes this is not just the
mind, right? And sometimes it really doesn't
feel like that at all. It feels like it's just what's
happening. And sometimes that's true, but
(06:14):
there is this also, this potential that our mind and our
thoughts and how we are interpreting what's happening is
creating our emotional state andsomething to be aware of as you
go through this full cycle of how are your thoughts creating
your feelings? Again, That's the Vedic
teachings and the Upanishads andthe Vedas.
Thoughts become emotions. So we actually can influence our
(06:38):
emotions by influencing our thoughts, which we have more
influence over than the emotionsonce they come and go.
And we have even more influence over the breath.
And if we are breathing in a shallow, fast way, that's going
to stimulate the sympathetic nervous system and create more
of a stress response and more stressful ways of thinking.
So this is an opportunity to begin over this two months to
(07:00):
really observe your breathing, how that's influencing your
state. And if you get into a stressful
situation, you'll probably notice your breath becomes more
shallow, becomes more difficult to take deep breaths.
It becomes harder to relax. Now the mind starts racing.
Now the emotions follow. And you might start to see this
pattern more clearly in a new way in a new area of your life,
(07:23):
because it never ends. As long as we're alive, there's
going to be new layers of this, and I've been doing this work a
long time and there's always newlayers for me.
So I don't think I have it all figured out or anything like
that. But I'm continually a student as
well, and I'm my first student of this work as well.
I create these guides for me andI need them just as much as
anyone else and I find them super helpful.
(07:45):
So I share them with you becauseI know how helpful they can be
myself and the many clients I work with.
So that's where the story begins, around the late June
time, those of you who are more intuitive, more spiritually
aligned, doing a lot of spiritual practices, maybe you
have strong 12th house in your chart or 8th house, strong
Mercury influences. You're probably going to feel
(08:05):
these things more ahead of the schedule, like mid June can
think back to what is going on there.
Then the actual retrograde moment is July 17th.
Mercury now starts to move retrograde.
And of course, with all retrogrades, no planet ever
actually goes backwards. They are always moving in the
(08:25):
same direction around the sun. But from our perspective on
Earth, it appears Mercury's going backwards in the same way.
When you're driving on a highwayand you pass a car, both cars
are still going forward, but it looks like the car next to you
is going backwards because they're going at a slower rate
or in just the relationship of the cars.
And that's what's happening herewith Mercury retrograde.
(08:47):
It appears it's going backwards and it has typically a stronger
influence during this time. So the emotions can become
stronger. Now from July 17th to August
11th, this is the actual retrograde period and as
specifically the time where you're most likely going to have
to go back over things, July 17th to August 11th, all the RE
(09:09):
words are RE, elevant, relevant,reverse, realign, review, rest,
restorative, yoga review, reset.These kind of things are
reorganized, realign, these kindof things are all helpful
reminders for the retrograde to think RE.
(09:30):
Any kind of RE word is probably going to be beneficial for you
during this time. And new things, new contracts,
new relationships, new jobs, newliving situations are not the
best if you're starting it rightduring this time.
So between July 17th, August 11th, if you get some amazing
(09:51):
new idea, I want to start this new business, I want to move
here, I want to do this wait a little bit, just let it settle
in. Oftentimes it's difficult to
perceive things clearly during the Mercury retrograde because
the the thinking of Mercury, theintellect is being slowed down
(10:11):
in all retrogrades. It's a it's a reminder and sign
to slow down in the areas related to that topic.
In this case, it's the intellectual experience of our
emotional world with Mercury andcancer.
What brings us nourishment? Slow down there.
If you're thinking of starting anew relationship, it'll still be
(10:32):
there in three weeks. If it's really meant to be.
There's no rush, right? If they're just thinking about
signing a new contract for something, a new job.
If you really need to, if you really need to sign a contract
or start something during this time, at least sleep on it one
night. At least give it some space to
review, to rethink it, to re andanalyze it, to get some new
(10:53):
perspectives. If you're going to a doctor and
they give you a diagnosis, get asecond opinion.
If you're going into some big decision that requires any sort
of ink to paper or any sort of commitment and stake in the
ground, give it a little time and if it's really meant to be,
it'll still be there in a coupledays or a couple weeks.
I've tested this many times. I speak from experience.
(11:15):
So, you know, if you're skeptical, please test it out
yourself, see what happens and just be the observer and try to
prove it wrong. Like just see what happens.
I've tried this many times, likebuying a new computer during the
Mercury retrograde, knowing all these things I know and just
say, oh, let's see what happens.Like I'm just going to be open
minded. I would love this to go very
smoothly, no problems. Let's just try for the best and
(11:39):
test it out. And that particular time, the
whole process was dragged out. Like there's an issue with the
hard drive. I lost a bunch of files that
were very important, bunch of songs I was writing at the time.
I was very disappointed. It was very difficult and the
whole thing was finally resolvedat the end of the retrograde.
So it took about 3 weeks for that whole thing.
(12:00):
From what normally you go in, you trade in your computer, you
transfer the files, you could bein and out in a day with a Mac.
But this was, you know, the whole thing was delayed three
weeks. This kind of thing happens a lot
during retrogrades. Buying new devices, not
recommended. Any new technology, any new
computers, phones, things like that, I do not recommend.
(12:22):
But again, try it out for yourself, test it out, see what
happens from July 17th is when mercury starts to turn inward in
the deeply emotional and transformative nakshatra of
Auslatia. So if you want a little more
detail on what the influence is,here I have that also in this
free guide. The key influences, you can read
about them. Auslatia is a very
(12:43):
transformational energy. So we talked a bit about Pusha,
about cancer, the nourishment side of things.
Oscillation is like the deep, secretive, mysterious, trying to
understand things, emotional intelligence.
It's like psychology. If you ever watch a
psychological thriller, that's very oscillation energy.
There's some sort of mystery or manipulation or understanding
(13:06):
the deep psychology of things, getting under the surface.
That's all oscillation. When you go through deep
transformations and you realize some big insight about yourself
and you realize there was some pattern under the surface,
that's oscillation, a kind of energy.
Now with Mercury, the intellect goes back through this.
You might start to go back through things under the surface
and your psyche that need to be uncovered, and there's so much
(13:29):
growth there. It's like picking up a rock
that's been sitting on the ground for years and you find
there's a whole world underneaththat rock of life forms that was
just building and building there, and you didn't see it on
the surface. You had to lift the rock to
look. So this is part of the
opportunity of July 17th to August 11th to turn over the
(13:52):
stones in your life that have life under them, to turn over
the things that you've put in place.
This could be literally like going through your house and
moving furniture around, cleaning up the cobbles, or
maybe there's actual some cockroaches under there or
something, some ants or whatever.
Literally like cleaning out spaces, turning over rocks,
literally in the garden, turningover rocks, pulling up weeds,
(14:15):
going under the surface to uncover things.
Now if you're doing like psychological work, therapy,
astrology, these kind of things all are about this as well.
You get under the surface. Very powerful time.
Great for slowing down communication and addressing
things that haven't been said orfully processed.
If there's something unspoken that you need to speak, this is
(14:37):
the time to do it now. It can be a little intense with
Auslatia, but do it in a loving,kind, compassionate way of
understanding, seeking to understand.
And I like the phrase of seek first to understand, then to be
understood. So if you're coming into a
conversation like righteous, angry, upset, resentful, needing
(14:59):
someone to hear you, you likely will not be heard in that
situation. So this is a opportunity to
maybe you have something you need to say, but you come into
it with that person first wantedto understand their side.
And when you give that understanding to someone else,
they will give it back. But if you give sort of a
pushing, needing to tell you offkind of energy to someone else,
(15:23):
they will give that back. So this is an opportunity to be
more curious, compassionate, understand someone else under
the surface, great space for them to understand you under the
surface. And if more people live like
this, then we create a very reciprocal, generous,
compassionate world. And if you're around people who
don't live like this or don't value this and you need to say
(15:44):
something, maybe they're not theperson to talk to.
And this is a hard truth of lifethat I've learned many times.
The hard way is that not everybody is so compassionate
and open and wanting to get to the truth of things and wanting
to connect or available for those things.
And if you recognize that's the case with somebody, then it may
be that as much as you need to express yourself, they're not
(16:06):
the person that is available to receive it.
So that's something to do with afriend, the therapist, to guide,
journaling, meditation, something in a different form.
But you can still express the energy because energy is there
inside of you. And to be in motion, the emotion
is energy and motion. So if you have emotion coming up
(16:27):
about somebody when you think about them or think about the
past, that energy needs to go into motion.
And verbally expressing is one way, but there are many other
forms. If that is not the viable option
with that person, it's an opportunity to hear the unheard,
especially within yourself. So things like meditation
practices, spiritual work is a great space to hear this, these
(16:52):
things. In my experience, when sitting
in meditation for a while, there's usually some sort of
deeper wisdom that comes throughand there's a lot of words for
this. But then when we get into the
observer perspective, we quiet the mind, which is what the Yoga
Sutra teaches. Yoga is the quieting of the mind
so that the true self can express and be heard
(17:12):
essentially, and we can see the true self and hear the true self
and we just need to createspace for it.
Easier said than done in modern times, but if you just set a 10
minute timer and just sit there and do nothing but notice your
breath, there was start through the sort of cleaning of the
mind. All the worries, thoughts,
doubts, noise in the mind will be there.
(17:36):
But eventually you get to that inner wisdom and the thing that
needs to be heard and spoken from your spirit to your mind,
your intellect. So the spirit is more like
Jupiter kind of energy, more thespiritual wisdom.
Mercury's more the intellect, the understanding, the
knowledge. This kind of conversation we're
having now is more Mercury, but when you sit in meditation and
(17:59):
when you do meditation practiceslike with me on Quiet Mind yoga,
I've got lots of them there for you.
Those are more Jupiter. You're listening to the guide
within. I, my hope is it just guide you
back to your guide. So I'm creating a mirror for
that for you and then you can come back to your center.

So you might notice some old emotional stories coming up,
ready to be understood and healed from July 17th to August
11th. Now within this whole window,
the next big movement is on July29th when Mercury gets back to
(18:44):
Pusha, going retrograde out of Islesia, back to Pusha, back to
that sign of nourishment, reconnecting to what truly
supports and feeds you emotionally, mentally,
relationally, literally. How you feed yourself is up for
review right now, especially June 29th to July 17th, and then
(19:05):
July 29th until August 21st. That's about a month there of
Mercury going through Pusha backin and forward.
Listen to your belly. Like if you're getting feedback
from your stomach of bloating, gas, stomach noises, any sort of
feedback in the diet, in the digestion, this is a really good
(19:25):
time to pay attention to that. These can be early signs of
diseases. These can be signs of something
you're eating is not really sortof resonant with your system,
what's needed for you. If you're noticing some
imbalances like in the doshas, like if you're really anxious
that's too much vata, you eat a bunch of vata foods like salads
(19:47):
and crackers and dry and cold foods, you're going to have more
Vata energy and then create moreimbalance.
So if you catch that happening, this is a really good time to
recalibrate. And if you're to Vata, you get
more kafa stuff. Oils, warm soups, grounded root
vegetables, sweet potatoes. As a vata type myself, I've come
(20:10):
a long way in my vata journey and I love sweet potatoes.
If I could just eat one food, been asked this question before,
I would be sweet potatoes. If you could just eat one food
what would it be? So before that I would say
smoothies which is more vata blended up ice cold things.
That's very vata. So that was not so good for my
system. And I had a lot of digestive
(20:32):
issues and anxiety and vata imbalances.
I had a lot of dandruff. So these are all vata issues.
And that was when I was eating ahigh vata diet and a high Vata
lifestyle, living in Minnesota where it's very cold.
So if you catch yourself imbalanced, this is a really
good time to get back into balance.
(20:53):

But specifically, you know, if you want to focus on Mercury

It's going to help you through this time as well.
So what feeds you emotionally, mentally, relationally,
physically, literal food. But if there's a relationship
(21:14):
that is not nourishing you, and then maybe it's the time to
focus on the ones that do nourish you.
Your relationship with people, friends, family, technology,
your habits, your sleep, your lifestyle.
Is it nourishing you? It's a really good time to check
in with that and realign and find what really nourishes.
(21:36):
Maybe you really love to take a hot shower or a bath or walk in
nature, or you haven't been doing those things in a while.
This is the time to go back to those things.
And if there's like mentally, ifyou're just learning stuff
because you feel like you shouldbe learning or this sort of
pressure on yourself and that's not actually nourishing you and
(21:57):
it feels like your body gets more tense, you don't feel good.
Like that's not nourishment. So and maybe it's time to
reassess and the media you consume, the books you read, the
content you consume, like, is this really nourishing you?
It's an important benchmark or time to check in.
It's an important checkpoint foryou in the year here.
(22:17):
It's a time to communicate now. July 29th to August 11th.
Communicate in ways that are healing, comforting and kind to
yourself, to others. Let your words be soft and
supportive. Excellent for therapy,
compassionate conversations, learning how to offer and
receive deeper emotional care, any sort of caring kind of
(22:38):
practices or work. Very good.
July 29th to August 11th. But we could say this whole
cycle, end of June to end of August.
All right, then we get the big shift.
August 11th. Mercury goes direct at push 10°
of Pusha and this is where now we are back to where we started
and the end of June, June 29th to August 11th, we are now back
(23:02):
where we started there at the end of June, closing this loop
so we can complete cycles there emotionally.
All the things we've been talking about so far today, it's
a great opportunity to break a pattern and how you think, speak
or emotionally react. Now you might be familiar with
this concept of pattern interrupts.
So like if you notice there's a pattern you have of like every
(23:25):
day you eat this certain food that it's not actually
nourishing, but it's just a habit.
Or you start to get in the conversation with somebody,
start to get in this certain mode that is maybe closed off or
angry or certain emotional reaction.
And now you're kind of in this mode.
Anything you can do to interruptthe pattern when you see, oh,
(23:46):
this thing is happening, it's kind of automatic now.
Anything that interrupted can bereally valuable.
So this is a great time throughout this whole cycle to
explore pattern interrupts. Like maybe you, your pattern is
you wake up and you check your phone first thing in the
morning. You could install an app that
blocks that blocks that app for certain times of the day and
(24:07):
then you try to wake up and do it.
But now the patterns interruptedby the the app that sort of
blocking it. Parental controls.
We need to be our own parents sometimes as adults.
And there's a meme that's like, when I was a kid, I wanted to do
whatever I want and go to bed whenever I want.
And now that I'm an adult, I realized that time is about 9:00
(24:27):
PM. And I just wish somebody would
just tell me what to do with my life.
So, you know, this kind of thinghappens where we want to be
parents. We want to be adults when we're
growing up. And now we have it and we kind
of need to be our own parents again, especially when these
habits come up that are automatic, not actually
nourishing us, and we just need to interrupt them.
Anything you can do, like if it's an emotional thing, you're
(24:50):
having a conflict with somebody,you can interrupt it by saying
like, hey, I'm just going to make a funny face now and make a
bunch of sounds and be silly andmake play on my limbs around and
dance, right? Just anything you can do that's
like what is happening? Why is what is that?
Or if you ever notice, like you get into a conflict and then
suddenly you get a call and now like the whole vibe was
(25:12):
interrupted and you have to kindof like try to get back to where
you were in the conversation, but you can't.
That's a pattern interrupt. So this is a very useful thing
now through this whole cycle, noticing the patterns and then
just anything to interrupt them.But especially through this
whole cycle, this is a theme. But then August 11th, we get
(25:34):
back to Pushya is like we're closing that cycle of the
lesson. From June 29th to now, we can
change the pattern. If something's been building or
repeating since late June, this is the moment to address it,
complete it, and move forward with more emotional clarity and
communication skill. August 11th for 10 days till
(25:55):
August 21st. Now we get Mercury back in
Oslatia still going direct. So we're moving forward again,
August 21st, and this is the integration phase.
We've gone through the emotionaldepths.
Now it's time to transmute what you've learned into wisdom,
presence, and more authentic communication.
So we're levelling up here in our communication, our emotional
(26:17):
understanding, our expression. You don't have to repeat the old
patterns anymore. So this can be very relieving,
but also a little scary when we go into new patterns.
It's like what's happening here,trying to find how to make sense
of things, how to Orient in thisnew routine, this new lifestyle.
(26:38):
But it's about showing up with deeper understanding and
choosing new level of emotional maturity.
Or you don't. And then you got to repeat this
lesson again until the next retrograde, which is going to be
a little more intense in Scorpiocoming up later in 2025.
S My hope with this work is not that we've become over
analytical about transits or overthink it or harsh on
(27:02):
ourselves or trying to control everything.
That is not the point. That's not what it's about.
It's not from fear, it's not from anything like that.
The intention is like it's a certain energy coming through
and we have an opportunity to meet that energy and engage with
it fully and be fully present toit.
When we do these practices, likemeditation and yoga, they are
(27:23):
practices to be present and to be present with what is, I think
when different energies move through and different times
bring different opportunities and different challenges,
different strengths. So this is a particular time
with its own particular signature and challenges and
opportunities that we can grow emotionally, we can mature, we
(27:45):
can improve our communication with ourselves, improve our
relationship to what really nourishes us, what really brings
us emotional fulfillment. To close unfinished cycles so
they don't linger in the background for months or years,
keeping us sort of weighed down,blocked, unexpressed, and locked
up emotionally until it needs tolike, come out in some more
(28:06):
intense way later. We want to address things as
they arise. And my hope with this work is
you're addressing things as theyarise, catching the wave of
energy now. And it's like being fully in the
moment of this unique time. And we can know because of
history. We can watch every time
Mercury's retrograde in Cancer, these certain patterns happen.
(28:29):
And every time all the transits happen, they're just cycles.
We can see the patterns of what's happening, what's
unlocking in the psyche, the collective unconscious, What's
an opportunity for us to work with.
It's super cool. It's like seeing through the
Matrix in a very real way. It's like a very literal clock
of the planets of space and timethat we are measuring.
(28:51):
So this is an opportunity to be In Sync with that clock in those
rhythms. And then August 24th, Mercury
passes 24° Cancer. So now we're in new territory
from this whole cycle. And the whole cycle that began
on July 17th with the retrogradebeginning is now complete.
You move through the full emotional arc.
(29:12):
Now you step into new territory,a new chapter of thought,
speech, and emotional awareness.There's fresh clarity available
for you here. It's an opportunity to trust
your growth and your process from August 24th on can be very
beautiful thing, but things might still linger there.
So I encourage you again to re listen to this episode if you
(29:33):
feel like you get a little lost in the weeds here.
If there's again, unresolved stuff for the past, things that
need to be cleaned up and finished so you can create more
space. So then when Mercury goes
direct, really this whole cycle ends August 24th.
Now it's fully direct out of this whole zone.
That's the time now. Sign new contracts, start new
(29:53):
projects, new relationships, newdeals, new contracts, these kind
of things. This is the time where now it's
more the mind is more thinking clearly because you've cleared
out the cobwebs and the junk of the past.
You've created space to move forward and build upon the work
you've done. And then August 30th, we're into
(30:13):
Mercury and Leo, the whole new energy, whole new cycle.
Starting August 30th, a new voice emerging after the deep
inner work of this retrograde Mercury and Leo invites you to
express yourself with confidence, courage, and
authenticity. So you've created a space to be
more empowered, more authentic, a stronger leader.
And this is the time to speak from your center, not from your
(30:35):
ego, but from your true self authority because you've built
that relationship in this time. Very transformational, like
Mercury is moving through all the transformational Gandhanta
Nakshatras this this year and especially the retrogrades
through these transformational energies like Oslatia.
So mentally, this is a very transformational year, whole new
(30:59):
way of thinking and seeing the world is unfolding for you.
If you are open to it, if you are working with the energies,
if you work against them or don't work with them, life goes
on. Maybe nothing big happens, maybe
something big does happen, but it's not the end of the world.
