Povel Ramel-sällskapet förklarar:
Radioserien hade som inspiration den serie musikkomedier som hette ”Road to …” med Bing Crosby, Bob Hope och Dorothy Lamour. I ”Johan Blöth” innehades huvudrollerna av Povel själv (”Bing”), Egon Larsson (”Bob”) och Brita Borg (”Dorothy”). Som författartrio fungerade Povel Ramel, Roland Eiworth och Sten Kärrby, med Roland Eiworth som någon slags regissör och ordningsman. Povel skrev naturligtvis visorna som förekom i serien, och de musikaliska effekterna leddes av William Lind. De som medverkade i övrigt var bl a Martin Ljung, Hanny Schedin, Bengt Widner, Sven-Arne ”Bagarn” Henning, Curt Eiworth, Ragnar Falck, Roland Eiworth, Sten Kärrby, Gunnar Fellenius, Diana Miller, Alice Babs och Flickery Flies. Dessutom förekom en hel rad gästartister, som Anna-Lisa Söderblom, Max Hansen, Ejnar Haglund, Sune Waldimir, Thor Modéen, Sven Arefeldt, Yngve Stoor.
