Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yo, what is up?
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Boys?
Speaker 1 (00:01):
How's it going? And welcome back to another episode of
the Rant Cafe Anime Podcast. Yes, we did talk about
the fall season already, but now we actually watch some
of the shows and can give a little bit more
than just a synopsis. So with me today we have
anime recon what's up gamer?
Speaker 2 (00:18):
So boys, it is good to be back and we're
here to be recommending and talking about seasonal anime. My
personal favorite, Boo this sucks.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Jordan the anime Dude, is also here. How's it going?
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Well, it's up everybody. I'm happy to be here, but
a little sad that they made me watch anime. I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
I watch an anime get in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
I haven't watched seasonal anime since last season. It's crazy, yeah, crazy,
all right?
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Most popular on the list. We got one punch Band
season three, and I think we already kind of hit
the nail on its head last time by saying it'll
never live up to Matdhouse's first season with the animation,
but the story and the characters are lovable. I had
a lot of fun with episode one, how about you, guys?
Speaker 2 (01:03):
It was very, very bad. Unfortunately, brings bad.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Fuck up. What do you mean it's bad.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
It's just Episode one was full, and I mean full
of crappy still frames that I couldn't barely enjoy it barely.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Man, it's so bad.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yeah, I guess I just don't care about that that much. Like,
don't get me wrong, drinking like an epic fight scene do.
I wish it for it to be better. But when
they're like just doing like comedic jokes and having conversations
and establishing characters, I'm okay with it.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
I just I like, I've watched all three, I've watched
all the both episodes. Episode two air today. I just
I'm not really enjoying it at all. I'm not even
laughing anymore because of the amount of still frames that
it's just hindering with my enjoyment of actually, like, you know,
fully watching the anime sitting down actually laughing. I'm just
(02:00):
like with a with such a still face, like mid face,
I'm not even smiling. I'm not even laughing.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
It's just like you're the image you're looking at right
one p Man, This.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Pretty much man, George, It's it's not the same as
it used to be.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
What are your thoughts I'm throwing slander out there, but
you guys are gonna hate me for this. I actually
haven't watched episode one yet. I didn't watch any of
the sequels yet, so I watched all the non sequel
anime for the for the seasonals.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
But all good, all good. I think there were definitely
a few You're really not missing much. There were definitely
a few times in episode one where I'm like, you
know what, a little bit more effort would have been
appreciated one hundred percent. There's a few times and like
you could tell they don't give a fuck about this scene.
They're just keeping it still frames. But overall, I think
maybe I'm a little bit biased, but I do love
(02:47):
One punch Man and just seeing these characters and the
way they interact. Even without the most fluid movements or
a little bit of some PNG One punch Man, I
still genuinely enjoyed the first episode and was looking forward
to the second, which still classifies as a w FM.
I wanted to watch Up with two. I wanted to
watch Up with two. I will watch it. I'll watch
(03:08):
the rest of the seasons.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Do you want me to break it to you about
episode two?
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Do you want to break the bad news even more
still frames a clock.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
That's correct, I will say, even though I haven't seen it.
Like usually when a show this popular starts getting hate,
the hate kind of snowballs a little bit where it's
a little bit overblown. But even with the amount of
hate I've heard for it, it looks like the scores
are still decent. So like hopefully, like I said, if
people are enjoying it, hopefully they're able to continue doing
so throughout. Like I saw like as bad.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
As Jordan I saw on Twitter, like ratings for like
first episodes and stuff on Twitter. One punch Man was like,
go on the real lower side, like really really long
with Twitter is just a bunch of losers.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
But it made the chart, right.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
How many it made the chart, But it was like
super low for the score of it was less.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
It was super low the score.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
I feel like if it was less, that means it
was top. However many that was right.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Twitter is just a bunch of rage bait, extreme opinions,
echo chambers, and then you go into the real world
and you realize, Wow, everyone on Twitter is just a
It's just an exaggerated version of the reality for everything.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Yeah, yeah, you know, they try to make their opinions
very succinct, and then also like there's a little bit
of monetization the value there now too, where you know,
it's like the entire post itself is clickbait a lot
of the times. R Yeah, just trying to help be
as extreme as possible to.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
I always try to explain it, dude. I always try
to explain this to non content creators when they're like
talking about people doing things. I'm like, you got to
realize they're doing it for the views. They're doing it
for the views. I literally say this to my girlfriend
all the fucking time, because she gets super involved on
like watching YouTubers and drama and this and that, and
she's like, but why would they why would they be
(04:50):
stupid enough to say that. I'm like, it has thirteen
million views, it doesn't matter if they're getting canceled anyway.
Side real.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
But but here's the thing, all right, A lot of times,
I know people can post low quality videos and stuff
to Twitter now, but a lot of times what you're
gonna see on there are p and g's and if
you watch one punch Man, apparently it's the same thing.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
So so you're saying I should watch it on Twitter.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
That's what I'm saying there. I feel like I've basically
seen the episode. You know, it's see.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Even chat one frame man, one frameman. I still I'm
telling you I enjoyed it. I still enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
You enjoyed it, but so many others do not.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Don't get me wrong, I do think you're a couple
of moments throughout where I'm like, this is a little
bit bad in regards to like the lack of effort
and budget that they put into certain moments. But there
wasn't any like crazy fights in episode one, so I
don't care save the budget for that. I'm down.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
I feel like that's what kind of hurts a lot
of people and stuff is with the show being as
popular as it is and not receiving the level of
love it probably probably deserves. Yeah, but as we see
up there right, like a seventy five average is pretty
dang good for I mean, season three, it's gonna be
the people that saw the first two seasons, so that's
gonna inflate it a bit. But I think people are kind.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Of liking it so and it's the most popular influence
you too much. Most popular, most anticipated, and it's above
Spy x Family Season three, which I would say has
gorgeous animation. I watched the first.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Popular, most anticipated, but completely under delivered and disappointing.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
Sad that's the result that we got.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
I will see what I once I have some big
moments that I know that are gonna happen in this season.
Once those get animated, I'll judge it. If those are bad,
then I'm.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Like, Okay, no, m that's fair. Family breaks.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
I like the episode one so far. It was just
really cute. The whole family was together, A bunch of
little things went down. We got we got crane operator.
I don't know what the fucking what the word is
for those. It's such an.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Excavator, claw machine, the claw machine, crane.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
The excavator type thing, and we had it. We had
like a mech battle with that, which was kind of cool.
Auzzie is I straight up like, end of the day,
I'm gonna throw on apps. So the Spy Family every week,
it's just wholesome, it's cute, it's funny. I want to
see it get deeper into the plot than it already is,
because not that much happened in episode one. It was
more just hey, reminder, these are the characters that you love,
(07:22):
and I still love them. Yeah, okay, how about you recon.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Pretty much the same formula, same Shenanigans that we've seen
in the first and second season.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
Pretty much wholesome family.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Missions happen or or crazy events or whatnot, and uh yeah,
you see some badass action here and there, and then
you go back to pretty much being a wholesome family
on your moments at school. What was the noble noble
kid's name is it?
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Damien? Damien's like, yeah, Damien, Damien.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yeah, Damien just making fun of Aunia as always, and
then Anya just hating him back with her friend Bell
was Betty, Yeah, Betty.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
I only watched the first episode.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
It's you know, it's pretty much what we've seen before,
but I like it.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
I'm enjoying it.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
It's fun, it's wholesome, it's cute.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
You get from spikes like.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Es.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Episode two and three apparently had a lot more plot driven,
which was which I appreciate. So one was kind of like, hey,
these are the characters that you love. Let's get some
fun activities going on, a little a little drama with that.
With that overworked man going crazy whatever. But episod two
and three apparently we get more to the plot of
the actual story why this family kind of came together
in the first place. I do want to see more
(08:40):
stuff with your and her backstory and like her being relevant,
but we already talked about that. Let's keep the train moving.
I'm assuming no one here is watching m ah A.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
So drop.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
I do enjoy m AHA as a series, though, and
I will say I've I've seen a lot of people
uh going crazy about Invisible Girl finally getting her reveal
for character design.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Oh yeah, I saw pictures. I saw pictures of it.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Everybody's hyping that so much, and it does crack me
up that, like, one of the coolest character designs in
the series is invisible for ninety percent of it.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
Like that's amazing.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
I feel like her Coochy's nerving himself on this series,
right like or I guess maybe he just gave himself
more time to come up with her design. But I
figure that's worth at least a shadow.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Jordan and Ricon saw pictures. The Dulgens crazy Adulgens have
been going crazy.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Okay, the average one punch man. Enjoy your experience with anime.
I just look at pictures and I act like I've
seen it.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
You know, all right, Ricon, you're not watching it. I
already know, no to your eternity. Season three. I have
not finished season two, so I'm not watching it.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
This is a very good season, Breaks, very good season.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
I'm really excited for the season based on what I
read of the manga. But I yeah, I haven't delved
into it yet either.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
So it's they have. They have completely shifted the season
something more unique. Instead of it being like, uh, the
fantasy world that that it normally is, we actually go
and it takes place in like a city or like Japan.
I think it takes it takes place in Japan where
Fushi is like still in control and everyone thinks of
(10:18):
him as a god and shit like that because he
still has the trees, he still has the big tree
and all his big roots, like connect everything together in
his power source and you get new people and all
that and all of his friends that well that that
would probably be a spoiler, to be honest, if I
say anything.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Let me sum it up for you in two words.
Here breaks that everything recon just said time skip park.
All right, those are always high. Those are always fun, right,
So every time you get through the time skip, it's
a it's a good time.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Honestly, if I say anymore, it would probably spoil you.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Like Modern day Japan. Yeah, pretty much, it's been amazing, Okay,
I want to watch it. I will say the first
three episodes for Up So to Your Eternity are beautiful.
I think it's such a great show. I did start
to like lose a little bit of interest at certain
points throughout season one, but season one was fantastic. I
do want to watch season two and three at some
point for sure.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Definitely definitely not a perfect show, but I love the author,
the same author as a silent voice, and I love
how she does characters. And then it kind of turns
into also like a battle shown in some ways, right,
So it's like a little bit of best of both worlds.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
In that regard Drew, there's a less action, more slice
of life. But the slice of life is really good.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
I like it so far.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
It just it just makes you connect to all these
characters that you like that you really really love throughout
the show. So it's definitely worth.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
It, all right. The next most popular, which I can't
believe this is the next most popular, but it is
the next most popular. My status as an assassin obviously
exceeds the hero The Heroes, which actually had better animation
than One punch Man exactly.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Surprisingly, the animation for the show is really good.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
It's just.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
A kira Oda. I think he wrote one Piece or something.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
He wrote dragon Ball and one piece can combine.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Is Oda's first name, Akiro.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
No we got a Kirata dragon Ball and I Heiro
Oda one Piece, And I feel like you had to
be done on purpose, as like he just rest.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
I just blanked on his name until you said it,
so that was off the top of that. He honestly
not a bad show so far.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
This might like be he just he's he's just a fan.
I don't I don't know if these names are that popular.
Maybe they are, Like there's no way, there's no way
that wasn't done on purpose.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Did you watch this? Breaks? What did you? What did
you think of?
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Did watch it? And I think it's better than a
lot of the other anime I watched, But everything else
I watched was also really bad. I'm trying to remember
which one this was. This one he has like the
assassin ability but then when he gets transported there, his
stats are like better than the heroes and he goes
invisible immediately. He Actually, one thing I liked about the
(13:01):
show is he like became friends with one of like
the Knights or trainers there, which is one thing I
didn't see coming exactly. I think this is actually one
of the better anime this season, and I will be
watching more.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Yeah, yes, SAME's It's very trophy in a lot of ways,
like it has the whole class teleported to Anisaki world.
But I like how the main character is kind of
doing his own investigation, doing his own research, kind of
coming to his own conclusions and everything isn't there's a
lot of questions. We don't have any info about this world,
but he's kind of coming to his own conclusions by
(13:33):
interacting with the different people in it. Right, So, like
you said, the Ekman Night character, the handsome guy that
looks like he's from an Automa game, he kind of
threw me for a loop, and I like him more
than I thought I would initially, So I like the
thing that they have kind of going on.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
So I agree. I like their dynamic, and I do
like the fact that it's a little bit of mystery with
the world, like we know they weren't summoned for the
reason that was presented to them, right.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
No, No, it's completely false saying. And then there's a
lot of policy in the background of you know, they
have their own motives and we have no idea what
those are, right, So I like that he was kind
of investigating what that could be.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
So underneath all that, the King is the most suspicious character.
He's plotting something. He summoned the whole class for everyone's
thinking thinking, oh, we're going to be here, We're gonna
fight the demon lord. But no, he has other plans
and the protagonist has absurdly high skills, and he's investigating
all that, and like you all said, the Handsome Knight,
(14:29):
he's actually helping the protagonist because he's also he doesn't
side with the king or anything. He has more of
like his own thing going on.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
In a lot of way, but more of a peaceful
coupe from what we see, but we don't know the
politics around it of like is it justified, is it not, etc.
I think the most suspicious is probably the Queen because
her eyes are like lazed over. Jesus has no.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
The Queen is actually controlled by the King spoiler alert.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Okay, yeah, I didn't know that.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Pretty that's all I'm gonna say. Okay, that's all I'm
gonna say.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
No, no more.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
I like the fight scene it started out with that
that first episode because the backgrounds look really cool. They
were like fighting on a roof. There was a couple
of different assassins, and like I said, the actually actually
wasn't too bad.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
So yeah, yeah, all right. The next anime is called
My Friend's Little Sister Has It in for Me. I
did not watch this one because I didn't want to.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
Yeah I did.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
I was looking forward to this.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yeah, I watched it, and honestly, Briggs, this is probably
not something for you.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
I could tell by the name. And I just hads
next on this one, to be honest.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Honestly, this is almost similar to the case of like
the the girl who has a crush on this guy
and she likes teasing him. And as soon as this happened,
I'm like, oh great, this is fucking Uh what was
this one teasing anime?
Speaker 4 (15:54):
Uh? What's this Slice of Life teasing anime? I completely
forgot about?
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Or yeah, yeah, it's hockey or Nagatoro. Yeah, both of
these anime instantly sparked that and like, yeah, it's that
all over again. It's pretty much the same thing. She
likes him, she teases him. Why is she so annoying?
Why is she trying to you know, you know, not
like bullying, but like trying to get his attention in
(16:20):
all sorts of ways. But this is pretty much what
the show is about. It's it's cute, but I wouldn't
say it's really for you.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
Briggs.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Yeah, I agree, you know, I was.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
I was really excited for this one. I've always wanted
to delve into the light novels. They say there's like
game development in it that first episode. I don't know
if it's just the anime, but there was like is
a likable main character. There was a lot of not
game development. There was none that actually took place in
that first episode, but there was a lot of etchy
type moments. So it actually threw me for a loop.
(16:50):
I did not expect that. I looked at this title,
I looked at that picture and I and I went
in not expecting that, and little you know, I don't
know what that says about me, but I got bamboozled,
so I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought
I would, but it's still maybe at some point.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
All right, all right, Campfire cooking in Another World with
my absurd skill. Season two. Season one, considering the absurdity
of this topic, was actually kind of fun. I like
season one. I didn't watch Eason two though.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Very very fun. That's that's all I'm really gonna say.
Nothing has really changed for this as well. The formula
is the exact same, just an overpowered character with absurd
cooking talent, with the shopping skill, feeding his wolf, the Fenerer,
who does pretty much all the work for him by
killing monsters and shit like that, bringing him back ingredients,
(17:40):
and he just cooks up delicious food. Watching this was
with an empty stomach is pretty hard. But other than that,
really it's just a fun show.
Speaker 1 (17:47):
Actually never finished season one. The shows is the vibe,
and I do want to watch more. I'll absolutely want
to watch more. It's an awesome show.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
He's the guy that some of you guys watch. Shake
my head, this is fun cooking, Pobe.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Let's get into some some non sequels so me and
Jordan can say something.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Finally, finally, The.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Monster wants to eat Me? Does anyone want to go first?
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Before your anime?
Speaker 2 (18:14):
I spoke a lot, so breaks you you talk Kevin.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
The Monster wants to eat Me. I liked a lot
of things about this show, but I overall hated it.
And I feel like everything that happened in episode one
could have happened in like seven minutes. I just feel
like it was so slow. I knew what was going
to happen just off of like reading the description and
(18:38):
like the title's name, I knew where everything was going.
And like the actual ending of episode one, I think
the message making a sub real quick thank you so
much echo for the Tier one, appreciate the fuff that
you dude, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you,
thank you, thank you, thank you. So what I was
saying was the actual ending, and like the message of
(18:59):
the show where she was. I watched this a little
while ago, so I'm trying to remember. I remember it
ending with like she wanted to die, right, but then
now she's trying to find meaning in life or something
along those lines.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
They got a transfer student, Yeah, they got.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
A transfer student. She was like almost eaten by a
yokai and then she clearly had some trauma with her past,
and now she has like a new friend who's a
fucking mermaid that she's gonna protect her, but not yet
that also wants to eat her, but not yet. She's
like the Heasoca of Uri.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
She's waiting for her to mature a bit more so
her body is a little bit more tastier.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
I don't know. There was a lot of good things,
but the entire time I was bored. And at the end,
I'm like, I liked the idea behind this, it just
wasn't and things look beautiful. I think it was just
the pacing. I think I just have TikTok brain rot.
The pacing was just a little slow.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
All right. So my opinion on this show, it feels
like the type of plot I normally wouldn't watch. You know,
I'm not gonna say I'm in love with all that,
But what really did capture me was the pacing. I
love the pacing. It took itself slowly, It didn't try
to rush things. It just it has a certain vibe
to it, right, this aesthetic of like the water around
(20:13):
her really just letting you sit in the moment of
her loneliness and where her headspace is at. The soundtracks
are beautiful, and it just kind of let you sit
in those moments and experience them with her right Like
it didn't rush itself. So I love the pacing. The
pacing was great. This is what's such a solid first episode.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
I do you feel like some of the conversations, some
of the conversations has felt so irrelevant and she was
like she.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
Was like needlessly poetic with like the way she internally monologued,
so and I like that like they would transfer from like,
you know, a conversation with her friends where they're kind
of talking, and then even in a crowd she was
kind of isolated and alone, where it like slowly turns
from that to like she's just kind of in her
own head thinking things to herself, like surrounded by water,
(20:59):
like she's still kind of stuck in the past. So yeah,
I don't know a lot of things. I do like
about how it handled things. Uh still like doesn't feel
like a show I would normally watch, but maybe that's
why I enjoyed it so much.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
So I think I need to watch episode two. You
kind of brought me back in because there are so
many little there's little things I liked, but the overall
product I didn't.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Like, so like, yeah, maybe in love with it, but
like I did enjoy.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
It, maybe because I knew what was gonna happen in
episode one based off of like I usually go into
things without knowing anything, right, I like going him blind.
I don't even like watching trailers per se. And now
for this one. I watched the trailer. I fucking read
the description, talked about it with you guys, knew the title,
we theorize on what was gonna happen in the first episode,
and then it just all happened. It was just it,
(21:41):
just fury.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
I was right right that synopsis. It stuck out like
a sore thumb.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
But I think I'm still all about it because because
of that. The first episode was just like I think
I know what's gonna happen, It's taking a million years
to get there. Maybe episode two, since there are things
I liked with episode one, maybe episod two will be
better for me.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
I will say, I have no idea where it's going
from here. I couldn't tell you.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
And that's maybe what I'm excited for. They're gonna fall
in love and then she's gonna eat them either reacone.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Pretty much all the points that you guys covered.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
There's not really much to say.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
I found this okay, but like you said, Briggs, it
was very slow in.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
The first episode.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
But episode two and three does pick up, so it
does get a bit more excited.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Are we gonna get yokai battles where the mermaid fights?
Speaker 2 (22:32):
No, Unfortunately, you're gonna get shown an esque to bring
you the bad news. There is no. There's not really
action in this is.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
There is there more romance because nothing?
Speaker 2 (22:42):
So yes, the Uri. The Uri does start to spike
up a little bit, like you can sense it. It
is there. It is definitely there.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
All right, let's move on to my most anticipated anime
of this season, my personal favorite song, Santa Claus.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
I'm not gonna give my thoughts yet. I'll let you
kind of break the ice their brakes, but I will
say before going into all the shows for this season,
last time we talked about seasonals, I was very skeptical
of this one. I was not looking forward to it.
It just looked kind of silly and I'll leave it
at that was That was my very general impression.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
So there is a scene in episode one that I
am in Love with Don't get me wrong, was episode
one amazing overall? Maybe maybe not. There is okay, there's
a specific scene that I just love the transition of
this dude getting stabbed and then transitioning to like people
looking up with like smiles on their faces. It's snowing,
(23:40):
and you have the bells ringing. He becomes Santa Claus
as he whatever you get, you get the jacks turning
into Santa. You have all these like these funny moments
along the way and afterwards, but that moment of getting
stabbed and then the bells start ringing and everyone's so
happy but he's fucking dying on the floor is just
(24:03):
a chef's kiss. That's why I watch anime.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Production value is very good for this one. I will
say I didn't know if the like the quality of
what they did would go down or not with with
all the different changes with that studio, but no, it
was pretty high quality.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
So it was good.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
There's there is so much craziness in Shenanigans in the
show that things don't make sense, like a shootent, bringing
a bringing a gun to school, what you mean, average
day in the dude, I don't know about that break up.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Did they have a did they have a gun? I'm
trying to think I remember it.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, the girl no, there was there was
also guns available, but uh, the kid turning into jacked
up Santa Claus and a lot of action naked Santa
Claus muscular. There is so much shenanigans in the show.
It's crazy. It doesn't make any sense, but it is
very fun to watch.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
It's just something new what was going on lot wise.
But I'm gonna echo you Briggs and say that while
I was very skeptical going into this show, it was
probably the favorite, my favorite among the things I watched
as well. That's very good. The aesthetics were beautiful, and
it had this very unique feeling where it was like
doing its own thing. It didn't feel like it was
trying to copy anything else. Like I don't really know
(25:18):
what to expect, but I'm just kind of in for
the ride along with it as I'm going, and uh, yeah,
everything's just really beautiful as you go. So like the
the whole scene of her trying to stab him for
like a couple of minutes and then kids being kids,
kind of going back to that, the sister teasing him
anime and stuff. He was like, I watched those back
to back and it's kind of the same thing. It's like,
(25:40):
is she into me? If she's really mean to me?
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Right?
Speaker 3 (25:41):
And he had that same thought process as like he's like,
you know, she sat there trying to stab me for
a couple of minutes, that must mean she likes me,
you know that that typical teenage thought process.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
So that first that first scene very fun. That first
scene she was she was she was like, I'm going
to kill you by the end of the day or
something like that, or I'm gonna take you out. And
he's like, she's gonna confess by the end of the day. Hilarious,
Sorry to cut you off, And.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
He ended up confessing, no, no, not at all. I'm
in it with you right here. This was just a
fun ride where it's like had a good mix of
good action, good little comedy, just natural comedy from like
the characters and how they are and how those tea
teenage hormones kind of are, and enough craziness and wackiness
to where you don't really know what to expect with
what's coming next. Right, Like I I felt like a
(26:30):
roller coaster just through the first episode, and like, I
have no idea where it's going from there, so interested
in finding out what happened to the missing girl, interested
in finding out how all the Sanda stuff is going
to play out, and more about the world, just with
the inherent mysteries of why are there no more seasons?
What happened to Christmas? And all these other things that
like they don't really have anymore, they don't ever hardly
(26:53):
have snow, they just I don't know. S that's up
a lot sets up a lot in one episode, all right,
so I'm up in a lot.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
I will say Sanda. I haven't had a show where
I watched it and wanted to make a YouTube video
in a while. And like, I started writing a script
when I watched Sonda episode one, and I think I
realized what it is. Sanda is the type of show
that like made me fall in love with anime. It's
just such a stupid concept. It's so stupid that it's
(27:24):
never going to be done in any other form of media.
Most likely. It's so unique in that way. It's got
good animation and it's just fun anime Jack Santa Claus
unique concept. It's just something that can only be done
through anime, and it reminded me of why I fell
(27:46):
in love with like weird different anime in the first place.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Yeah, closest comparison I could think of would be like
Tim Allen's the Santa Claus movies, but like those are
kind of silly, where something like you know, shaves a
couple hours later he has a full beard again because
he's forced to be Santa Claus. But uh, yeah, like
you said, this is just a very anime specific aesthetics,
So I don't know, I get.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
I only watched episode of one, and I really hope
I don't end up taking this back, but I haven't.
I haven't you this far you will, like on a
seasonal episode of Rank Cafe. I don't think I've talked
to this fondly about anything.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
Well, I will say I think part of what helped
me with it was I went in with zero expectations.
I went in very blind. I didn't know what to expect,
and uh, I think that helped a lot as far
as just being blown away with the initial impressions show.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
I agree, let's move on to something bad. My gift
level nine ninety nine Unlimited gotcha backstabbed in a backwater dungeon.
I'm out for revenge? Guys? Is he out for revenge?
Did he get backstabbed in a backwater dungeon? Is his
unlimited dotcha? But it's Level and ninety nine find out
in the first episode.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
So I didn't watch this one, but I will say
the maid looks kind of like Hestia from Don Machi,
so I see the appeal already.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
I was thinking that as well. I was thinking that
she just needed a boot ribbon.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
It really bad, Jordan, don't watch it. It was really bad.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
I read the first half of the first Light novel
of this one, which is why I skipped it. So
I feel like I still.
Speaker 4 (29:16):
I'm gonna have to disagree with you, bro.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Okay, I'm genuinely not even joking. This is one of
my favorite shows of the season.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
Let's go why. It's not even an easy way.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
No, it's not. It's it's actually a fantasy. All the
characters that live there is the concept is so interesting.
Everybody in this world or so or like most of
the powerful people or the beings hate humans because they
think they're weak and they're useless. Completely well, Light after
(29:51):
getting backstabbed in the dungeon, he decides to so, so
the way his powers work, the gotcha them. He was
summoning complete trash stuff because he was always on the
surface and he never really knew how it works. But
in the dungeon, when he got backstabbed and he activated
a teleporter, he got sent to one of the deepest
(30:14):
levels into big, high leveled monsters. And over there, the
deeper you go, the higher the chance that has got
youa system will get will get him better characters. And
that's when it is it is no, no, it is
gotcha because you get random characters, but they will be
(30:36):
of high status.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
He's in an area that has increased time.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
I mean, yeah, yeah, he hasn't. He hasn't. He's an
area of a Yeah, it's not easy. He remember he
got teleported there because of a trap. It's just random occasion.
So he got lucky and over there he kept on summoning,
and now he has just a huge army of wife
who warriors and beasts that all just are on command
(31:05):
and call him Master Light. And from there he spent
three long years leveling up to nine ninety nine and
now he's gonna go and get revenge on all of
his old comrades who portrayed him, and he is going
to become the villain to strike war on this entire
trash world.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
By far, the worst anime I watched this season, not
even so don't get me wrong. Episode one bad, Episode
two even worse EPISOCE two. It's like everything that might
be interesting about this world, he's in the dungeon. He
needs to work his way back up because he got
(31:44):
hit by a trap and ended up on the bottom floor.
But then his gotscha power kicked in and he was
able to survive. Got a high level gotcha three year
time skip. In episode two, there's no struggle all a
wife who I'm gonna do my and mind? How cool
would it be? How cool would it be if he
got sent to the bottom floor, barely survived, uses his
(32:06):
gotcha the ability to climb his way back up train struggle,
go through the floors, and then get his revenge.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Briggs, who needs that? You just got at times To
get to the.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Point later in this episode, I have an anime for
you that I think both of you guys watch. We'll
bring this together where these two opposite into the spectrums.
I hate this like they well like.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
By the way Briggs, I know you're not gonna watch this.
Speaker 3 (32:28):
It was so.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
I wanted two episodes of this, by the way, Chat
made me watch two episodes. I was ripping on epilode
one and it's like, you have to watch episode two.
It's even worse. And then it was I know it
was all a trap. I know it was all a
trap where like he like he's getting like beaten up
or something, and then like a whole party shows up
to his rescue and then it's super nice to him.
(32:51):
Such an obvious trap, right, But it was just like
everything felt like rush to the point, rush of the point,
rush of the point, rush of the point that it
felt like it was just like glue a bunch of
random things together. It felt so unbelievable, Like everything felt
not believable.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
Brings just to let you know that Light is so
overpowered then episode three and probably beyond, because when I
saw on episode three he is just pure. He's just
pure flexing. I feel as pure flexing his powers. Nobody
can beat me. Now I'm the villain.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
I don't mind the overpowered protagonist, but like the journey
from like the whole thing is they set him up?
Is this weak taking an advantage of person. He's a
weak person that was taken advantage of and they just
like boom Episode two, Army of Wife Foos. I'm gonna
lose my fucking mind.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
It's it brings. You just said something about having TikTok
brain earlier and like wanting fast pacing. This is the
fast pacing where you are.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
I wanted fast pacing with deep, with deep, an inner
monologue with the Monster wants to Eat Me. I wanted
like the good writing of the Monster wants to Eat
Me to get there a little bit faster.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Recond at least you know what you like in an anime.
Bricks here has no clue.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
He's like, I'm looking. I'm really looking forward to his revenge.
So far, he got one, he got one member so far,
and he's going to get the rest of them. I
can't wait to see their reactions.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
It's so good.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
I just love how opposite you guys reactions the shore.
What was glad I didn't watch you. I don't want
to be a tiebreaker.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
It just chat forced me to watch episode two, and
it was the worst day of my life, all right.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
I did not want come on, like this guy is
so much more better than the og light. Like, you
gotta agree with me, right.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
What og light like the main character in the show, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
From death note, this light, this light is so much
better than the og light from death Note.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
I gotta agree with the stop stop stop the better
for sure.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Exactly, That's what I'm saying, He's the better villain.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
I just feel like the interesting power, and like I
feel like a time skip just ruins the cool power,
and like the world and the system, you know, it
has ruined so much.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
I will say it. I'm a sucker for like random
randomization and powers and stuff and games that have randomizers
R and G. Gotcha's Yeah, those are fun watch play
out and I will say them skipping past all that
was kind of what ruined it for me in the
novels as well, whenever I tried to give those a chance.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Yeah, don't get me wrong, what was that? What was
that anime? Where fuck from the battle Frontier Frontier something
didn't he like max out his luck or agility? I
thought he had a good luck stat too, and a
made a difference. And something about that I like.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
That is that is inherently kind of fun.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
Yeah, it's fun. Shows are, but you got to see
him like go through the process of like working his
way up and training and like fighting enemies, and like
he was really good. He was OP to begin with,
but like you saw the process a little bit. Dude
hit a mansion up two underground, nineteen billion wife wos
(36:07):
that wanted to smell his feet.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
What I'm getting here is, if you like the destination,
you like this show. If you like the journey, you
might not, So.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
Yeah, you know what it is.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
I think I want a fast paced journey. That's what
I watched.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
You barely get that. You barely get that anymore. Man,
There's it's been. It's been like I don't know how
many journeys you get in anime these days, but it's
always a big time skip. Like the anime just want
to get to the point already instead of these journeys.
So yeah, my expectations for these journeys are just slow
and you get what you get. You get a time skip.
I'm like, Okay, he's OP. Well let's see where this
(36:44):
goes from there. I know he's just going to beat
the shit out of everyone, but this is going to
be fun anyways.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Okay, I did not watch the next one. But I'm
sad I really didn't want to watch it dusk beyond
the end of the I.
Speaker 3 (36:58):
Actually kind of like this one. It's a PA's original.
There's a lot of mysteries. It's kind of sets up
right away, so it's a it's an East Gay in
the same sense the Doctor Stone is right, like it's
a y. He wakes up in a futuristic world where
things are very different. There's androids and like cool fights
that involve those, and then uh, on the back end
(37:19):
of that, there's a lot of you know, politics kind
of going on in the world that he doesn't understand,
or William type stuff with authoritarian governments and I think
they're actually called orwell. So it's kind of very on
the nose there, So, I don't know, very interesting little
show so far. It was like a like a five
minute segment where they explained like how the future version
(37:43):
of marriage is like polyamory or whatever, and like it.
I feel like they dwelled on that a little bit
too much. I don't know if they're setting up a
harem or whatever, but they sat there and talked about
that for like five minutes.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
Jordan Jordan's you know, yeah, you get the harem you
do get all right.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
I don't know. I was like, I don't know if
they're setting that up, but it is fun.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
You get the Harry Coln Jordan the funniest common in chat,
all things considered, I think the main character and Dusk
Beyond the End of the World is a thousand times
worse than Gotcha man.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
How I want to say he's an android? Okay, I
don't have strong opinions on him yet. He hasn't really
done much. He's good with his hands. He knows how
to fix stuff, but he does there's something about twenty
thirty six, which or twenty thirty something, which is the here
he's from. I don't know what happened with fashion back then,
but he walks around wearing like a crop top the
(38:36):
entire time, so and they don't wear that in the future.
So he has that twenty thirty sense of fashion, you know.
Aside from that, not a ton of strong opinions on
him yet.
Speaker 4 (38:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
I've watched all the episodes so far or four episodes.
My opinions on the main character is still pretty much
the same as the first episode. He's not really that special.
It's just my issue is he's being overshadowed by the sidecarres.
I find them a lot more interesting than the protagonists themselves.
But the most interesting thing for me about Dusk Beyond
the End is how captivating the world building is. It
(39:10):
is so interesting, it is so good, and that's what's
keeping me watching this anime because I want to find
out more about this world. It keeps building up on
the world building more and more and more, almost I
would say, like Mushell Coo Tense did with the world building,
So I want to keep wanting to.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
Original with So I really like to material people or anything.
Speaker 2 (39:29):
PA works great animation as well, good visuals for this
for the show as well, So always.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
Worth checking out their anime originals.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
Nice. All right. From this point onward, we're already like
twelve shows deep into the list. I think we take
turns picking a show that we watched.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Okay, all right, sure sounds good.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
Jeordian would like to go first.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
Uh sure, sure. So while we're still on the topic
of you know, the level nine ninety nine, gotcha, and
you guys haveing different opinions on that, I watched a
show called Hero without a Class who even needs skills?
Speaker 4 (40:00):
Oh yeah, I've seen this, and you.
Speaker 3 (40:04):
Know, this is a fantasy show where the hero or
the main character is classless. He doesn't have a class,
you know, so he's not able to get skills. But
who even needs skills because this man, he's a hard worker.
He puts his he's very driven, he has that chip
on his shoulder and he just trains a lot.
Speaker 2 (40:22):
He uh, you know, breaks, this is what you wanted.
This is what you wanted, Briggs, you wanted upper training
and all that. You gotta watch this one.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
I went into it expecting to hate it. I actually
kind of enjoyed it. So there was a lot of
fights in the episode. A class we even need skills?
Speaker 4 (40:39):
Where is it?
Speaker 3 (40:41):
But yeah, so it's it's one.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
Don't tell me. It's in the O N A section.
It's probably in the O A section.
Speaker 1 (40:46):
It is a I didn't see it, damn it.
Speaker 4 (40:49):
Yeah, keep going down soon apparently.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
It's ann a. But uh, it's one of those things
where you know, whenever people or whenever these shows have
like skills and stuff, they're still doing things you can
do manually. Like it just kind of does it for them,
is what it kind of gets at. So you know,
he sees it done he has. He trains really hard
until he's able to just do it himself, and because
he has those fundamentals down, he's a little bit more
(41:11):
flexible with how he's able to utilize it. Right. So
it's fun little first episode, a lot of fights in there.
It's not like amazing production value or anything. It's probably
gonna get a lot of hate, but I I'm gonna
have it as like my guilty pleasure for this season.
Speaker 4 (41:23):
Some nice Oh yeah, definitely goes.
Speaker 3 (41:26):
It's like a good little list. I feel like you
guys are both find it.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Speaking of as, I actually watched one as well. I
watched the Wild Last Boss appeared, not because I was
going through this list. It was just like on one
of those like random anime sites and got that epilote
came about. I'm like, I remember seeing this. I'm gonna
watch it. There's like one episode out right now. It
was It's all right. It was kind of like reminding
me of Overlord, where I got a guy who played
a game got like reincardinated or got incardinated into that
(41:51):
world as his character. So instead of like an overpowered
like skeleton, he's an overpowered like wife fu. He still
goes back to like where his base was and like
fawns over some memories and stuff. There's not as many
servants or like NPCs that he's dealing with yet. However,
there was one fight and it was kind of bad ass,
(42:13):
like they went to do like a quest and they
took on some orcs and it was just like, oh
my god, like she like she came to the realization,
or he came to the realization like how much op
he is compared to the world, similar to eins And
it was in that moment where he's like, I don't
even need a sword and he just started popping heads.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
The orcs.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
Heads started exploding, and the final one was like a
little tapped like the giant orcs. Noggin just explodes.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
Like a wild buss.
Speaker 4 (42:42):
Is pretty good. I like him.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
It was like fun. It was just fun. It wasn't
good but not really, but it was fun. And I
will probably like put that on at night and just
like shunting and out of it.
Speaker 3 (42:54):
This sounds interesting enough. He is the last pose that
appeared out of nowhere. Rican. Do you have any I
guess that you want.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
To Yeah, I actually got two from this list that
i I'm so shocked that they're not rated high. And
I know for a fact that they're going to be
super underrated. But the first one, have you guys checked out?
Told Youma wants to be a common Writer.
Speaker 1 (43:20):
No, but I wanted to. It was too it was
too long on the list.
Speaker 2 (43:23):
It was so good is it? I just know it's
not a sequel. It's not a sequel. It is just
such a good, interesting show about It talks about multiple
characters who are average looking at all that stuff, but
they have potential and skill in like they have this
(43:46):
hidden power within them and like it. But it all
starts with the protagonist. First of all, you know him
as a told you where as a young kid, he
wants to be a common writer just from watching the
shows and all that stuff. And he just continues for
years practicing a pose to perfect it and all that stuff.
And from that he got powers and he beats up
(44:07):
his bullies at school and all that. And now at
forty years old and he has a job, and he
still has and he still retains that dream of becoming
a common writer. And when he goes to a festival,
he finds a common rider mask puts an puts it
on and then he just fights bad people. And the
villains in the show are called the Shocker Gang, who
(44:29):
are the main villains, and yeah, they just do go
do a bunch of random stuff like rob stores or whatever,
and then he just comes in and saves the day.
And regarding other characters, they're also from different shows that
are inspiration to these characters, so they dress up as
them and then they go out and pretty much fight crime.
(44:49):
But it's just so funny, it's so good. The Common
I'm surprised that this is not more popular, is it? What?
Speaker 3 (44:57):
Well, I was gonna say, Common writers like a very
popular or franchise. Yeah, I didn't know if you'd seen
any of the others and if there's like references to
those or no.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
I I've actually never really watched Common ride or anything,
but I've heard of them. I've heard I've heard of
it from Japan, but I've never really seen anything.
Speaker 3 (45:12):
Heard in the seventies. So that's why there's been like
a lot since then, which is why I didn't watch
this one this time around. But that's interesting.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
But I'm surprised in shock that this is really low.
It's got great animation, amazing action, huge Okay, and of
course the a lot and a lot of jiggle physics
as well.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Yeah you said action. I was kind of you know,
using off a little bit there, but but jiggle physics there.
Speaker 1 (45:42):
There is another one, who did you want?
Speaker 3 (45:45):
I did? I did? Beat Breakers? How was it or
beat Breakers? I didn't quite know what was going on,
but I feel like they're using this to tame us
to because you know, did you Moon are basically AI, right,
and then there's a bunch of AI stuff and the
main character like, I don't trust AI, and I feel
like there's this to tame us to make us, uh
trust a I because the digimons like, you don't trust me,
(46:08):
and he gives them those those like puppy dog guys
and he's like, of course I trust you. Now you're cute.
You're like a little fuzzy digimon. Right.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
So yeah, I was against A until the anime girls
started coming out.
Speaker 3 (46:18):
Yeah that's what I'm saying, And then uh, I don't know,
fun little fun little start, but like it felt like
they're I almost felt like I missed stuff like with
A being like the first episode of like a new series,
like there's like talking about stuff that happened in the
past that wasn't there, and then uh, the fights were
kind of okay. But the main guy has a digimon
(46:38):
that's called Gecko Man that's like fights with his tongue,
and like that's always a little weird to me because
like he put his tongue down like the dog digimon's
throat and stuff like that. I'm like, what am I
watching going on?
Speaker 1 (46:47):
I used to I did not get that that low
on the list, but my one that I did get
to was The Banished Court Magician aims to become the strongest.
Speaker 2 (46:58):
Oh god, Honestly, some good shows are like way at
the bottom of the list and I'm surprised or not
ruand tire for the season?
Speaker 3 (47:07):
Yeah, oh summer oas and stuff. Is this one just
a regular show here, Briggs?
Speaker 2 (47:10):
Or yeah, yeah, this is a regular show, right, It's
another one of them. It's just another one of those
thearty But guess what he's power exactly.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
The way he got kicked out of the party was
so stupid. It was so annoyingly stupid. There's something about
this anime that I actually kind of liked at times,
with like the main character and like maybe the people
that he meets afterwards but the initial party interaction was like,
how could you be a court magician? You only use
supporting magic, And then like he didn't try to be
(47:47):
like I could use other magic. I just wanted to
support you guys. And he wasn't like show me what
other magic you do. They're like, you're out of the party.
You're not even a court magician anymore. Ben, we're evil, guys,
We're bad. He was underground, so he probably didn't want
to use his overpowered spells and they cause the entire
place to try to rubble. Hedn't want to overshadow these guys.
He was just helping them in small ways and it
(48:08):
was just like no community. He even came to help
them afterwards with like a and then the girl just
burns up the documents. This show sucks. It felt so
forced for him to get banished and then the show starts.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
No, no, this is this is probably written by somebody
who plays video games with their friends. They're always the
support character and they feel very underappreciated. Okay the amount
of appreciated, and they got kicked off the team. So
you know, I assume that's probably what happened here. Very
realistic in that regard.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
The amount of series that follows a character getting kicked
out or banished from a party is starting to really
get trendy for a lot of people. That's why you
see just more of them now being produced every season
or so. But man, like, this whole trend of getting
kicked from the party started I think because of one anime,
(48:59):
which was the the original banished from the hero's party
and he opens up a clinic on the countryside. Like
this show alone was popular enough to completely start this trend.
Speaker 3 (49:12):
Wow, it's so funny because I feel like I always
missed the show that starts the trend, and then I
watched all the knockoffs.
Speaker 2 (49:17):
That it's just crazy, and then just more shows copied
the same thing. Oh, you're kicked out, but guess what,
he's overpowered.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
Funny. I don't even know.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
Lord's party, but you're so overpowered.
Speaker 1 (49:30):
I don't even know what original show you're talking about.
So I'm on the same paper as Jordan, but recon
mentions the show and immediately someone in chat with that,
So that anime was so fucking sick. I love that show.
Speaker 3 (49:39):
I can picture it in my head because I've at
least seen stuff about it.
Speaker 2 (49:42):
It was genuinely good. It's called banished from the Hero's
party and something something, but he opens up a pharmacy
on the countryside, Like instead of being a instead of
being a hero fighting fighting the demon Lord and all
that stuff, He's going to be the hero and do
medicine for people pretty much.
Speaker 1 (50:00):
So yeah, all right, did anyone watch one Dance? I
was waiting to watch it but never got to it.
Speaker 4 (50:05):
Yeah, I saw episode.
Speaker 3 (50:07):
I think the hates a little bit overblown, but the
dance scenes do look really bad for the CG.
Speaker 2 (50:11):
It is so deserved, the hate, it is so bad.
Speaker 3 (50:15):
There was also like a scene where like he was
like watching a referencing a music video, which I get
why they did, but then they just kind of let
it sit there and let it play through, so it
was like two to three minutes of just watching a
live action music video.
Speaker 2 (50:25):
I don't know, man uh.
Speaker 3 (50:29):
And then there was like the dance scenes like that
are supposed to be big and climactic towards the end,
Like it's supposed to be a big scene that's like
revolutionary for him as a character, him as a person. Right,
it is like the worst looking thing, but the worst
looking part of the episode, Like that's so bad.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
I really thought Matt Outen was going to do something good.
Speaker 4 (50:44):
But but I.
Speaker 3 (50:45):
Do think the hates a little bit over blown. I
see how low the score hat that much?
Speaker 2 (50:49):
Okay, it's when Jordan, when you have an anime show
that is all about dancing, you expect to see good dancing,
but then when you but then has failures.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
But I would probably go and read the manga and
like be fine.
Speaker 2 (51:04):
Right, Like, the animation outside of the dancing is good,
it's solid, but when you come to the dances, they
just use such outdated models and crappy CGI that it
just completely ruins.
Speaker 1 (51:19):
That's really sad. I will say it look good as
much as I'm the type of person that doesn't care
that much about good animation at times, like with One
punch Man, for example, I expect the fights in One
punch Man to have that effort in So for Wan Dance,
if they had bad animation but the dance scenes were good,
it'd be fine. But like if the dancenes are bad,
that's kind of like a major factor.
Speaker 3 (51:41):
It's just like I just want to say, like a
bad CGI model just kind of doing its thing and whatnot.
But it was less so that like that was a thing.
It was more so the part where they had that
was supposed to be like the big moment at like
the end of the first episode, right, and then it's
like it lingers on this bad looking dance sequence.
Speaker 1 (51:58):
It's just Cgi will say, someone in chat just said,
or Saucy Weeb says, the dancing in the manga is
so much better than the anime, and that's really sad
because the animes will stay enhance that aspect. Something like
a manga, it's hard to show something like dancing. So
if the manga is better than the anime, that's horrific.
(52:19):
I'm gonna read the manga. That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
But like I will say, at least watching that first
episode like as a glorified advertisement for the manga. I
watched it and I was like, I get the hate
for that dance sequence part, but but yeah, it was
at least not bad enough where I could see myself
reading it, right, Like I was like I might sit
down and read this at some points.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
Fair.
Speaker 2 (52:39):
As soon as I saw the studio for this Madhouse,
I was like, oh, I'm really excited to say this,
but it's just that how can Madhouse produce these types
of dances and say like, yep, this is great to air,
Like really, how would the audience feel if they How
would your audience feel if they saw something like this?
Of course they wouldn't be happy. They will immediately think
(53:00):
this is trash And I dropped this in episode one.
But fun fact though I read I dug a little
bit deep into the production for this and the dances
were actually captured using mocap with real dancers.
Speaker 3 (53:13):
Really yeah, but yes, I feel like if they would
have maybe just like animated hope for it or something
and did like a little bit of.
Speaker 2 (53:19):
But the biggest problem is that there's just no cleanup
within this mo cap. It is very rough, very stiff.
There's no cleanup. Bad models, bad animation, It's just completely ruined.
Like that's just it, like very said.
Speaker 1 (53:36):
And sorry, what were you saying, Jordan?
Speaker 3 (53:39):
I was just saying I had some good music as
far as like the opening was good, some good little
rap vibes in there.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
Do you mind moving the mic is a little bit
closer to your mouth or it might be.
Speaker 3 (53:47):
My on my end me, Uh can you hear me?
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Now?
Speaker 3 (53:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (53:53):
You're good? Hello, you recon talking with Jordan Okay, I
do want to say before we wrap up one or
two more anime each for you too, if there's anything
that you did watch that we haven't talked about.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
So Georgian one, one big one I want to touch on.
I think it's probably the highest rated ona is.
Speaker 2 (54:13):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (54:14):
It's called may I ask for one final thing? So
it's like a question. So it didn't have like a
bit of an otome game feel to it. But like
the the main character, it starts out with her in
like a ballroom gown at the ball and her fiance
she's had since childhood, not only knows their engagement but
announced this in his engagement to somebody else. And all
(54:36):
the guys in the show so far are very cartoonishly villainy.
But I will say the main character, the girl, she
likes to throw hands and she I've never seen somebody
look so happy after bathing in the blood of their enemies, right,
like in a non psycho assassin way, but more of
a she just threw hands and like bloodied everybody up
kind of way, right. So it was interesting. It was
(54:56):
actually better than I expected it to be, and uh,
I think it's one of the higher rate. It shows
the season so far.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
Nice noise.
Speaker 2 (55:02):
Yeah, everyone is prising the first episode because it was
It was quite good the first episode.
Speaker 3 (55:07):
Yeah, not bad at all.
Speaker 1 (55:08):
Recon your pick.
Speaker 2 (55:11):
Have you guys seen Genosia?
Speaker 4 (55:13):
No, I really want to talk about this Gnosia.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
So I'm sure you guys are probably Jordan the most
you've seen anime related to among Us, right, like astrolost
in Space or Talentless Nana. Genosia probably is the most
accurate representation to among Us. It's basically among Us, an
anime of among Us where you get different characters. They're
(55:37):
on a spaceship and there are aliens called Genosia, and
they are on a mission to completely destroy humanity. So
these characters are on a ship and one of them
is an impostor, a Gnosia alien who shapes themselves as
a human. But they can't lie, but they but everyone
(55:57):
goes through the same thing as an among Us, through
different phases like the free time phase where they get
to know each other and all that stuff, and then
in the end they go through the voting phase to
vote out the most suspicious person, and then the most
suspicious person goes into cryo sleep, and then and then
and then they get to see whether that was a
(56:18):
Gnosia or not, and if it's not, they keep going
to the different rounds and all that stuff. But the
interesting thing about this for the main character is that
he has the power to go through a time loop.
So if the humans lose, he will go through a
time loop. Again.
Speaker 3 (56:37):
That sounds like cheating, but I feel like.
Speaker 2 (56:41):
That's the that's the interesting thing. It is cheating. But
every time the Gonosia is different because they caught onto
his powers, so it's not going to be the same
person every time. It's completely different.
Speaker 3 (56:57):
That's kind of wild. So it is like he's just
playing among us over and over.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
Yeah, he's just playing over and over again until he's
like until the humans win. But as the episodes go by,
more characters are then introduced, so and then the Genosias
just get more smarter and smarter, and it's it's so
it's very interesting, very.
Speaker 3 (57:15):
Actually, it sounds really interesting, And I know we talked
about it prior, which is why I'm sad like I
didn't give it a chance. And last anime for me, Briggs,
all right, I want to tell you what I watched
instead of Gnosia. So I watched a Gatherers Adventure In.
You know, wats.
Speaker 2 (57:38):
Did you get? I can't even think that stuff that
we talked about.
Speaker 3 (57:42):
I started talking about Gatherers Adventure in and how it's
basically just the.
Speaker 2 (57:47):
You know, Briggs, did you capture what I said?
Speaker 1 (57:51):
He just checked out on Meosia. I heard it sounded interesting. However, okay,
Jordan's pick, I get all your face talking so enthusiastically,
but I couldn't have to do what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (58:04):
Yeah, it's not good. I was just proud of myself
for actually watching it. So I was like, this is
my trash. He's the guy I refuse to watch campfire
cooking or anything that starts a trend. But all the
bad copycats, you know, I usually end up checking those out,
So uh yeah, not good. But I was just proud
of myself that I have mentioned. He goes around gathering
stuff after he's goied through another world. He has all
(58:25):
these skills. Basically every word of the dictionary is like
another skill, so he keeps finding those out. Every time
he's like fly, he ends up flying, or if he says, uh,
you know, scan, he ends up finding all the ingredients
throughout the forest to go and gather those right, and
he it's it's kind of boring in that way, but
it gets a cute little dragon mascot at the end.
Speaker 1 (58:44):
Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (58:47):
Yeah, and you know it looks really cute. The mascot's
name is Bee, So I might keep watching some more
for bees. So just you don't want gathering the stuff
that watch all.
Speaker 1 (58:58):
Yeah, I do the same thing. I watched another one
where a guy had like an Amazon cart. The entire
entire show. You gotast KaiA with an Amazon cart or something.
But I've watched like two or three like that.
Speaker 2 (59:11):
Don't forget about is a vending machine.
Speaker 3 (59:14):
I need to watch that one. That one, actually I
watched the first episode. It was pretty pretty much so bad.
Speaker 2 (59:19):
It's so bad.
Speaker 3 (59:21):
They're all pretty bad, but you know, it's it's one
of those things. It's one of those things.
Speaker 1 (59:26):
Did anyone watch Let's play? I did not, And you guys, no,
I don't know that.
Speaker 4 (59:32):
Actually, no, I haven't seen that one yet.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
Actually, let's let's play. Oh wow, it's like it's not
even that low. It's pretty low. It's below digimond break.
It's a wrong com.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
I'm still waiting for that Disney Twisted Wonderland one.
Speaker 4 (59:50):
I'm so looking forward to them.
Speaker 1 (59:51):
It's coming to Disney Plus. I actually bought Disney Plus
the other day for something else.
Speaker 2 (59:55):
Why just watch it online?
Speaker 1 (59:58):
I was show that I watched. It's not an anime,
and I couldn't get it online. It wasn't out yet,
but it was on Disney Plus, and I said, fuck it,
I'm paying the ten bucks for the worst show of
all time. It's called Chad Powers. It's so bad. It's
so funny. It's so funny. It's a football show, and
I just wanted to watch it. And I also, in
(01:00:18):
the back of my head, I'm like twisted, Disney Twisted.
When Norton Land's coming out, I'll watch those episodes and
then I'm gonna fucking cancel my subscription.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Yeah, Powers, all right, I'm very excited for this dude,
Chad Powers.
Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
Jordan. Watch it. It's so funny, but it's so bad.
It's like it's just like this university or college football
star gets like canceled and loses loses his position as
like starting QB. But he comes back to another team
with like a wig and a prosthetic nose, and like
he goes from me like this like fuck boy, pretty
(01:00:51):
boy to like he puts the wigand know what he
puts on make him like pretty ugly and he changes
his voice, but he kind of is like a better
person in this role. It's just so, it's just so
fucking funny.
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
Google just knows I'm a weave. I tried to look
it up and like, one of the top results is
what powers does Chad have? And it's talking about bleach like,
but I see it, I see it. I might have
to check that out. If it's a comedy and it's
about football, those are usually pretty funny.
Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
Anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:01:19):
I hope everyone enjoyed anything else. Any final thoughts, guys.
Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
I think those are really it.
Speaker 4 (01:01:26):
Really we talked about.
Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
Yeah watch Sanda wat watch Yeah everything the theme of
this episode, so.
Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
Oh watch Tom wants to be a common writer and
watch Gnosia very underrated, What amazing shows check.
Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
I'll check those out, all the I'd watched all the
bad eyaskay, and just so you can make fun of
it with friends. Love you guys, shin pock you and
I'll see you all next time.
Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
Hey,
