Sounds good. I'm always down to talk about One Piece,
am I right?
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:07):
One piece always down. Anyway, let's jump into it. Posidon.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
General thoughts, how you liken the g eight arc.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
This was a very fun arc. It was just nice
to kind of watch something where the steaks are long,
just kind of turn your brain off, enjoy the straw
hat shenanigans. Yeah, I genuinely really loved this arc. It
was fun.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
I think that's a good description, is it.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
That's a lot of fun because you knowing that it's filler,
it can't really change anything or add anything super important
happen right wherever it starts. It has to end in
the exact exact same spot. So they the last arc
ended with them falling like from Skypeia using the octopus,
and they landed in this naval base, right. But then
(01:55):
in the next arc, they're probably is going to be
landing in the sea and it's just going to start
as if they as if it like nothing happened, started
as sailing, as if they never landed in this space
and never had these fun sherenanigans.
Speaker 4 (02:06):
Yeah. Did you see that with a lot of other anime.
But I think this is still up to this point
like the longest uh like anime original filler and one
piece and whatnot. So uh, I don't know. There was
a good change of page for this show. One of
the best, uh, one of the best, one of the
best filler arcs out there, I think for sure.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
I wonder how many episodes it was.
Speaker 5 (02:25):
Was it like ten, like twelve something like that, maybe
something like eleven twelve.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
So it's crazy how like with other anime, you could
have a twelve to twenty four episode show and that's
the show, that's the entire anime, and then in one
piece it's like, yeah, we'll have a twelve episode filler
arc where nothing is really allowed to happen.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
I think with this piller arc, I think the concept
of it was originally like they were wanting to do
a movie with it, and it was just kind of
scrapped for that, but they they turned it into a
fun arc instead. If I uh, if I remember correctly,
I could be making that up. So I read things
and then repeat it so you know, people don't.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Lie online source I made it up anyway, presided, do
you have any fun moments you want to talk about?
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Particularly? And it's totally because I am not an s
I m p H. I love the Robin switch up
where she uh I already forgot his name, but it
was the inspector dude. She kind of.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Got CON's name. Yeah, the next.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Game like that.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
She's the goat, he's the future pirate king.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
He's not a goat, he's a shepherd.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Shepherd where she was basically pretending to me the inspector
Andsop was in the commander's office and is like, yeah,
you know me right, and she was like, I don't
know him.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
That's a super funny scene.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
I even like the scene directly before it where usap
like captured and he's all down in the dumps and
like on the more and then they're like, but wait,
there could there he could be the actual shepherd. I
know someone an inspector was supposed to be coming today and.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
He like, oh you figured it out, did you. He
started to be like he's like he's like is this clean?
Is this clean?
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Like he started just going crazy all over the place.
Like his confidence and charisma was just so funny.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
I will say that one of my least favorite parts
about that though, was towards the very start of that scene,
they're they're questioning him hard. They're like, what's your name?
He's like, it's a secret. What division you in? It's
a secret? Like he was doing so bad at lying
and I'm like man, this is the guy that's supposed
to be known for lying, that's like quick on his feet.
And then they threw him one line and he just
worked with it so well, came up with a whole
(04:42):
narrative and everything.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
And then Robin threw threw him under the bus.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Oh yeah, you know, as one does.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
And it ended up coming in clutch because with him
with Zorro, they were able to help each other escape
and Zora can protect him. And at the same time,
now Usap's not in Robin's way and she could like
for tend to be the inspector and go and find
like the plans and the design of the of the
base right to help them escape and find the gold.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
Et cetera. Uh, there's a lot of parks here.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Do you have any favorite moments from this arc?
Speaker 4 (05:15):
I feel like there's so many mimable moments and those
are typically my favorite. So like it's just the comedic aspects,
like even from like right before this arc started, I
guess going back to that and whatnot, just the way
they introduced the arc in the manga. They literally just
they're coming down the octopus. They land on the ocean
and they continue from there and like that's it, right.
(05:36):
They found a way to make that so much more
entertaining and like fit it in seamlessly. And then you
get like moments like Zoro just having dreams and a
sleep that freak everybody out and he's just he's over
there sleeping like that was one of my favorite moments.
And then the LOOPI fall and everybody around. I know
that's a classic, but yes. The third one that I
actually forgot about was how they escape from the cell.
(05:59):
So of her you know, Sanji's trying to break out
and stuff, but I thought it was kind of stupid
that they're sitting there giving them opportunities to try out
this thing in new steps pocket and they're like the
other pocket. So he gets into the other pocket and
stop that one either. But one of those was a
flavor dial, And what saves them and bust them out
of that cell is the fact that Lufy just farted
(06:20):
in his flavor dial. Yeah, so stupid, it's so dumb,
but it's it's fine. It made me laugh, Yeah, and
I forget.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
It would have been one thing if he used the
impact ale to escape, but class pump style, it's like,
let's uh loofy farted in it and it's gonna light
the fire and cause an explosion, blah blah blah.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
But I do.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
It's like, why are they not trying to shoot them
or capture them? But I do understand that apparently this
base tries to not kill people. They wanted to like
arrest them, and they're like, what are they gonna do?
We confiscated everything, Like how's a shell going to stop
help them escape?
Speaker 1 (06:53):
You know?
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Like if you, if if you? They confiscated their bag
and their swords. But I guess you see a shell
and you're like, what's what's Like, what's the matter?
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Yeah, which I guess speaking of the shells. I also
love that like they're already starting to introduce like, uh
these dials from Skypea have some relevance, right, Like the
Waiveriah has some relevance. Uh us up got a big
moment right there. I forgot about as well. Whenever they're
coming down on the octopus, he like swung like Tarzan
down below the ship and like tried to help them land.
It didn't really work that well, but like I was like,
(07:24):
oh man, are our boys growing already?
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Was that was that part of this killer arc?
Speaker 4 (07:30):
It was the episode like right before, so like the
leadoff from Skypeia, they kind of spread that out a
little bit and that stuff that's not in the manga, right,
but it's yeah, them coming down from the octopus, octopus
getting smaller, and then uh so they start to fall
down faster right before they like crash crash land. So
got all right.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
I have two questions, Rip Posidon.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
One, do you have a favorite character from this arc
that's a non straw hat.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Ah. I actually really liked the commander because it's up
to this point. I believe when we see the Marines
all like the commanders we've seen, they're very ruthless and
they're like justice, we must capture them and do whatever,
do whatever we need to do. But this guy, uh
was playing chess literally. Yes, he was very very patient.
(08:15):
He was trying to be very calculated. So it was
kind of nice to see a different type of marine
commander to this point. So I really liked him a lot,
even at the end, you know, when he was like,
you know, we may have not captured them, but at
least we got all of our people to work together,
and that's what he found was important.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
So yeah, I really enjoyed let him a lot this
commander as well. I think he's actually like an underrated
like antagonist in a way, because you don't really see
that patience from very many like antagonists. It's usually like
chase them, get them, capture them, trap them here, or
do this here, like him letting them wander around the
(08:57):
base knowing that there's nowhere for them to escape, and
just like gathering information and intel and plotting his Like
his capture was just fantastic to see some strategy being involved,
and it really opposes Loofy's style of like there's a trap,
well I'm gonna run into it anyway, right.
Speaker 4 (09:19):
Yeah, Well, speaking of which, like Lufy's first interaction with
that guy is also one of my favorites. You know,
one he brings him his food, you know, like you
don't expect to see the captain of the pirate ship
that debated your base, like bringing you food and whatnot.
But right after that, it's it's Loofy having that laxa
daisical attitude of I can get out whenever I want,
like when I want to leave, I'm gonna leave. Uh,
(09:41):
And then that just immediately shifting gears as soon as
like they they mentioned that Zoro is already a captive, right,
so yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Speaking of which, what's it called? The Zoro being captured
was hilarious. And before that, like Nomal's like wandering around
the ship trying to be like nonchalan and sneaky, and
they're like they're talking about Zorol, like they even have
the pirate hunter Zoro on their on their crew and
then we're gonna capture him and kick his ass or
(10:10):
something that they said.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
And Zoroa just turns the corner. Who are you gonna kick?
Whose ash you're gonna kick?
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Like Buddy's just walking around ready to be captured and seen.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
Oh Zoro getting lost moments they're always at the top
of the off of the list. You're just walking around,
nonchalant as hell. Just dude, got to worry in the world.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
It is so funny. There's so many little moments in
this filler arc. But do you want to mention you
mentioned the dials? What did you think Poseidon about like
the dials being used and like the all the mention
of the ship as well. There's a lot of mention
of the ship. Yeah, got of focus here for sure.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
So kind of adding on to what your guys said earlier.
The people who are on I guess land, right, don't
have any idea what these dials are. So you see,
like these marine people, they see the straw has just
take out a little seashell and they're like, ah, what
is that gonna do? You know, we have no idea
what these devices do, only for the backfire, which I
(11:09):
think is really funny. And the ship the old man
having a conversation with usap about oh, I might know
who fixed your ship with that not getting answered.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Yeah, like oh my god, it's like you bring that up.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
Yeah, it's fillers.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
So they couldn't really get into it too much because
it hasn't been revealed. But I do like the fact
that this filler, unlike most filler, takes into account like
the arcs prior right, like the ship getting damaged and
fixed by this mysterious whatever individual. It is like important
(11:46):
from the previous arc and maybe the next arc.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Right.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
We know that they're planning to use some of that
gold to like what's it called, get their ship fixed,
and they want to find the ship, right, So having
the ship be so important in this arc is like
cool for filler. Like most filler is like, oh, they're
dreaming and they're on another island, or they went into
another dimension, or it's like something that that's so like
extracted from the story. When this one like really does
(12:10):
take into account the previous arc. When you see usop
using the dials, which as a non lumpiece vision who
you don't get to see the dials use that often,
is really cool, Like I love seeing the dials used
not in skypea.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
Yeah, and be honest, besides, there was this part of
you just a smidge right that like had some hope
he was that old man was actually gonna reveal some info,
Like yes.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
That was like the biggest thing that bothered me coming
out of sky It's like, who is this man? I
want to know?
Speaker 4 (12:41):
They took him away before he get danced.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Well, I keep I'm saying the next arc, the next
arc they're gonna hire this, and the next dark they're
gonna try to fix the ship. But it's not the
next dark. There's actually another arc with tons of filler.
I am so sorry, which is one of my one.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Right after it's right now one of my.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Oh go ahead, oh.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
I was just gonna say, well, right after this is
one of my favorites.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Gonna love it because I kept watching because I wasn't
sure where to stop, so I did get to start,
like a few episodes of the New are the next arc.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Yeah, the Long Ring Long Land arc.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
I will say it's actually not bad in the in
the manga, but in the anime they made it pointlessly
long and it's pretty yeah okay at times, which we'll
definitely talk about it at some point, but I miss see. Yeah,
it's actually it's only in the anime it's thirteen episodes.
(13:39):
I thought it was longer, but thirteen episodes for that
arc is kind of crazy.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
No, she's gonna like it. I've heard there's some characters
in that arc that are in the card game that
are good in every deck, right, they're not just that specific,
they're in all the decks.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Who yeah, girl, she's really good in the Raise You deck.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
Yeah, yeah, that was it you than I am, dude.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
That's hilarious.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
And but I do love the fact that this is
twelve episodes this arc, and then the next Dark is
thirteen episodes, so it's like twenty five episodes of like
kind of just filler content because like Skypeia and then
the next nark afterwards that your friends have been telling
you about water seven are actual, Yes, And technically Longer
and long Land is not filler. It just has a
(14:29):
lot of filler in it. Like Longering long Land could
have been like six episodes, did not need to be
thirteen episodes. But anyway, that's besides the point. You also
answered incorrectly. The commander is not the best character. It's
Condy Oriano uh any thoughts on him and his meme
looking ass.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
This poor guy went through it this arc. Did he
shows up to do his job, gets beat up by Robin,
throw it into his salary because nobody believes that he's
the inspector. You know, he's a he's he's really he
really went through it. Yeah, they finally figured it out.
(15:10):
Who's trying to help them at the end. He had
one job and he failed to with.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
I think that air cover straw hat he let them go.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Yeah, it was one of the most innovative moves and
anime has ever made to introduce like the next straw
hat in a filler arc, Like they usually don't do that.
So amazing that that And did you have any other
characters that you typically liked outside the marine base because
I guess one of the most appealing things for me
(15:41):
about this arc is just that, you know, in the
one piece world, there's a lot of shades of gray,
Like everything's not black and white, right, We're dealing with
people on all sides, and this is one of our
first times just being like inside a marine base and
getting to see a lot of the marines like as
people like doing things that and bonding with the straw
hats over things that they like cooking or helping people
(16:02):
in need in the medical arena or you know, taking
care of ships. Like there were so many different areas
where you know, you have these marines bonding with the
straw hats over over their shared hobbies. Right.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
So I I really loved the kitchen Jessica and her
crew because there were two I guess chefs, famous chefs
that were coming to I guess assist them with cooking
the meals for the.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Marines, and Soanji and Loofy posed as those two because
no me misled the actual two chefs because they were
asking where where's the kitchen and obviously not me, not
knowing where anything is, she misled them probably to the
complete other side of the base. Anyways, you see Jessica
(16:53):
and her her kitchen staff kind of learn from Sanjy
to not waste anything because she came in thinking that
these two chefs are pretentious, they're stuck ups and all that.
And then Sangi was over there to help prove to
her that I'm a good chef. You know, you're not
supposed to waste anything. Make sure you use everything, and
(17:14):
you know, cook with love and all sorts of stuff
like that. So it was cool to see kind of Jessica,
I guess turn I don't know, to leave, I don't know,
but she kind of learned from Sanji. And then we
have the doctor as well, learning from Chopper and Nomy.
Because the doctor she's scared of blood chance she's like,
(17:39):
how are you a doctor? But you're scared of blood?
But you see Chopper kind of letting her know, like, hey,
these people's lives are in your hands. You need to
do something to save these these injured marines. So you
kind of see Chopper push her to be the best
doctor she can be. So it was really nice seeing
these I guess people who do work for the Marines,
(17:59):
but they're not. They learned to not just I guess
look black and white. They got they.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Got to meet the straw hat to know the people.
And like even Jessica said at the end about Sonjy,
it's like when he was in the kitchen, he wasn't
a pirate.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
He was like he was a chef. The fun fact
about that.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
By the way, I think this filler maybe the first
time that Mary joa or I can't pronounce it is
mentioned those two chefs that were coming to like, yeah,
they came from that place, Mary Joe, and I think
that was the first time.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
I think it's mentioned in the anime.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (18:38):
I do what that is?
Speaker 1 (18:40):
I do not remember being mentioned prior to this.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
I mean, it's just the name of a place right now,
that's interesting. I didn't I did not realize a.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Little cool easter egg.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
I guess for for people that have read past or
watched past.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
Speaking of Jessica, go ahead. I was just gonna say
I thought it was like a cool little twist that
like she's actually married to the commander that you like
so much and whatnot, and all the little little bitty
stats of like you need to eat your vegetables. He's like,
I don't wanna like just little things like that just
really have to like personify them, right or like kind
of bring it down to earth and really show us
(19:21):
their humanity, right, even though they're usually on the other sides.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
I love that scene where he gets Sodgy's meal that
he made. You see Loofy going there try to eat
the meal Saji made, and Loofy gave himself away.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
All right, I am incorrect. Apparently Sengoku and the warlords
met up at that place, but did we know that
they were there? Probably probably like text on the screen
or something.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
Very possible, Like there's a lot of things in one
piece that's just kind of there for a little bit,
like maybe you know it's the manga, maybe like a
single page or or something like that, or a single
scene in the anime, and it won't be relevant again
until for like five hundred episodes, and then whenever it
comes out, they're like remember that one page from yeah,
volume volume seven, page chapter thirty two.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
For some reason, I.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
For some reason, I thought, like Sengoku they were I
thought they were just at like a marine base.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
I didn't think they were there.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
But I guess we bet the have you bet the
gorse at all? Like the four old dudes Poseidon, the elders.
The elders, Yeah, have you met them?
Speaker 3 (20:35):
I think they were in that marine meeting, right, the
war lords.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Then you think you've we've heard the name or the
island whatever.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Mary joa that these two chefs came from.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Apparently all right, I lied Easter Egg Falls source.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
I made it up.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
That's one of the best sources. It mix it up
up on the internet.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Crazy And he thoughts about Usop and the old man.
Other than just not hearing about the thing.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
I loved that when they were bonding they was just
the old man who was talking about how much he
cares about ships and how you should take care of it,
and who stopped kind of I guess learning and listening
to him. You know, we got some bonding between those two.
I actually really like the old man's character too. He married.
He didn't seem like he had anything against pirates really,
(21:32):
because you you in the marine base, right, most of
them are like pirates equal bad guys. But this guy
didn't have that mentality. He had no like, I guess
against them.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
I think a large part of that was, you know,
you heard some of the younger marines around the ship
and stuff, be like the straw hats are stupid, right, Like,
there's other ships that are out there that would be
much easier to steal. Why'd they come all the way
to this one? But I like the as they're sitting
there bysing and talking like that, the old man's looking
around and seeing how much work was put into like
(22:05):
maintaining the ship, and even if it wasn't done by
an expert, he could tell it was done with care, right,
So I think that's one of the things that kind
of softened him up to oosop a little bit right there.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
I agree, Speaking of which aually Guys reminded me in
regards to the ship. It was revealed, and I thought
it was cool to see Nammy, who like tends to
be just like put money first a lot of the times,
and he's painted in that light. And obviously it was
funny the second that they realized that the treasure was gone. No,
imally like, make a U turn, make a U turn
(22:37):
right now, we're not escaping. They have our treasure. And
the commander also was like, I know that they're gonna
come back for their treasure. There's no way pirates would
leave without their treasure. But it was wholesome to hear
that Nami wanted to use eighty percent of the treasure
not for herself but rather for.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
The ship, which I don't know.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
I really appreciated that because obviously Nomy tends to be
scummy with money.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
Yeah, and of course ninety percent of what remains is
going to go into her savings and then the rest divided.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Up and whatever that might be taxable and interesting.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
Yeah, exactly with interest.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Oh my god, I remember Zero having to pay back
like the three hundred interest on something that he never
he never bought on money he never end up using.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Did I give it back to you that day? I
didn't use it. I got them for free.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
Yeah, you agreed to pay with interest?
Speaker 2 (23:26):
You know, I don't know what to tell you preach
a contract. Oh gosh, I'm trying to think. I actually
didn't get a chance to rewatch this entire arc. Poseidon,
Can you remind me on how the arc ends and
how they managed to escape, so if.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
I'm remembering correctly, they are on their way out and
then the commanders like giving them like hey, you start
shooting at them, or like but don't kill them, and
then I'm sorry. The spec the inspector's name. I just
can't remember. You guys are telling.
Speaker 7 (24:01):
Me his name Shepherd, Shepherd, he had one job, and
he's like, I'm gonna take this canon and shoot it
at them, and then it just completely goes berserk and
hits one of them. Y.
Speaker 4 (24:15):
If you forget his name again, just roll with Condoran though.
We'll know who you're talking about.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
Condriano d Oreo, who are destined for greatness exactly?
Speaker 4 (24:30):
That was a spoiler, but you know.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
I can't believe I got spoiled that he's the last
straw Hat.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Gol d Roger, Monkey, d Loofy Corn d Oreano exactly,
Carl du.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
We could be opened about it now, he already told you,
you know.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Yeah, But it does end with them sailing away and
the commander just kind of being like, all right, it's okay.
You know what mattered at the end friendship.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
John, It was never stressed much over.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Jonathan. There we go.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
But it's funnier to say old John, you know, John,
was we go way back?
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Friendship? Friendship prevails all So, yeah, but I really like this.
R G eight was fun, Holly, if there are any
filler arcs, it's just as fun as this one.
Speaker 8 (25:35):
So yeah, I can't think of any Oh okay, One
Piece really doesn't have a lot of like anime original
like filler arcs in general.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
So yeah, like us getting this one and it being
as good as it was was a was a really
fun ride. And uh, I know they have like recap
movies kind of that like have like new animation that
like go over the major arcs of One Piece. And
another little tidbit I remember reading was h this was
one of the I think this is like the only
(26:06):
filler arc that's like included in one of those movies, right, so,
I think it's for the arc after this is the movie,
but like they include arts from like from G eight.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Right, so, which makes me think, I wonder if they're
going to include this filler arc in the Wumpies Live Action.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
Possibly. I like said, I feel like this is one
of the few arcs that just like improves upon like
what the the manga did, right, Like that was such
a cooler way for them to land than than just landing,
right that's kind of anti climatic, So.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
I don't know, it's a cool way for Hooks land.
I feel like we got to see more from the
with dials. We get to see more about the ship
and their love of the ship and kind of transition
from well, in my head, transition from sky Island to
water seven. But obviously we go to fucking long Ring
long Land for a bit. Which on that note, I
think next not next week, but the week after, Poseidon,
(26:59):
Are you good for Longering long Land?
Speaker 1 (27:02):
It's thirteen episodes? Yes, oh yeah, hell yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
The first like two three I watched has been already
super fun.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
So hell yeah, I'm excited. It's good to hear.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
And I also love the opening that has started with
this arc. Typically I skip the anime openings after I
watch them for the first few times, but this one
I really enjoy it.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
She skips bonn Voyage. This is so sad? What what
is next? What was the next one?
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Is the one after? I really like this opening a lot.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
I was hoping I could trigger into singing, but.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Nice tried ice do.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
We're still like pretty short on time. I wanted to
do a potential like tier list in a future episode,
but just a general question, who would you say your
favorite villain is or antagonist is? So far in one piece?
Take your time think about it, damn, And why is it.
Speaker 3 (28:12):
I think it's still Crocodile. I really loved Crocodile. He
was just very calculated, just amazing villain. I loved him
a lot, and I wish, I hope we can see
him again because he's just such a cool character and
is It's fine, he's cool, But I don't I think
(28:37):
up to this point it's Crocodile for me. I think
he had a he was much more meticulous, and I
really like that.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
So I think he's a better, a more fleshed out
villain than Andrew, who just I feel like a little
kind of chaotic for the sake of being chaotic, and
like he could have just left. He could have just
left to his endless verse. He could just went to
the moon be like I want to destroy everything first.
Speaker 4 (28:58):
Little God, very very narcissistic. Yeah, yeah, I like both.
Those are two of my favorite villains in the series.
And Room more for his power. But I think part
of it is the supporting cast around him, right, like
the the group that Crocodile put together with Bond Play
and Number one and then all the other baroque works agents,
(29:18):
Like I feel like that was so much better of
a supporting cast than you know Sky Island. It was
mainly just like a knell, right, Like I don't remember
as well, Like they were fun for while we were there,
but uh, they weren't even really that important to him, right,
So it's uh, I think that was a big part
of it. It's like knowing every member of a band
versus being like, oh, yeah, there's other people playing instruments
(29:40):
around this one person, right, that's true.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
I I do like like that Crocodile had a plan
he was executing and said planned by like pretending to
be a Shiji bukai and he was trying to find
the planic glyft and just more world building and a
bad laugh mafia villain with a cool power, not as
cool as an Nel's.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
Yeah, I don't I don't want to undersell it now though,
because he was very well read, like he knew a
lot about the ruins and every like the history of
the area he was in, Like he was a smart dude,
and he's kind of brute forced the thing because he
didn't really feel the need to try to be sneaky
about it, Whereas because you know, he's this big fish
in a small pond, right, Whereas Crocodile has seemed like
the bigger, the bigger the world around him, right, yeah, yeah, he.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Knows that there's bigger, bigger fish than himself, and he's
trying to like be strategic to get his goals accomplished
versus a Now like, let's be a gamer. We're doing
a battle Royale laugh one day exactly with me. It's
oh what about you, Jordan, who do you think your
favorite villain is up until this point?
Speaker 4 (30:44):
Honestly, my favorite villain is probably Crocodile as well. I
feel like I be cast saying that, but uh yeah,
between him and Candorrean.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Yeah, I think I do like and now more. Even
though Crocodile is probably be a better ridden villain, I
just like it.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Now.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
I am the biggest a Nell Glazer of all time.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
Bud.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
He gives the coolest power.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
So I think if a Nell tried to get the
one find the one piece, he would have found it
by now.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
You know what that's that's a very valid statement.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
Annell is one of the only villains that actually achieves
their dream.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
All right, Crocodile is still my favorite, but I guess
a special shout out to do Flamingo. We haven't seen
a ton from him yet, but he has like a
spiles out of all the villains, like if we're talking
about uh, if we're talking about like.
Speaker 9 (31:37):
Yeah, oh, maybe I should save it for like the
next episode because this is technically like we get to
see him do something right after G eight really get.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
A little taste of his powers. I don't even remember that,
and I really, I'm like, that is such a cool
I will say, I think I have, I guess, a
thing for characters that have like string powers, so I
I that's probably.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Why I enjoyed especially she's a masochist.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Anyway, guys, thank you so much for joining me. Any
final thoughts on G eight as an arc.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Peak peak peak Piller, peak Philly peak Philler.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
I can't wait for G seven, six and five.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Oh, there's there's seven, six and five we have.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
We haven't gotten four, three, two and one yet the
others the other geez, yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Realistically there's a G eight. The other basis probably exists.
Are just probably normal. But that brings into question movies like,
obviously I want to continue with cannon content, but in
the future, especially if like one Piece Manga goes on break,
we could just like rather than making Poseidon read watch
(32:59):
twenty episodes. We could ever watched one movie and we
could talk about it. Some of the movies are ship
and some of the movies are kind of goded, so
it might be worth worth a watch.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Yeah, I think some of the earlier ones are kind
of rough. But uh. The thing you'll love about the
movies besides, is they do a really good job in
one piece compared to other series of like always giving
the cast characters like cool clothing that's like specific to
the movie, right, so we could see a lot of
different outfits and stuff for the for the crew.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Oh hell yeah, Jordan, have you ever watched the Omatsuti
Island movie? Is it one of like the first three
year I think it's one that's early on in the
ugly is that the dancing one there?
Speaker 1 (33:40):
It's like an ugly eye our style.
Speaker 4 (33:43):
Maybe I watched the first like three movies, uh, and
then I watched like some later movies. So I have
not seen all of them, but like some of the
early ones, like they were not that memorable, but I've
probably seen them something.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Well, we might we might have to do that for
a podcast, even if we do two movies. We'll watch two,
you can talk about it. It might not be enough content
in some of those early movies in one movie right,
especially since it's non canon so we can't talk about
like old building or anything like that.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
But anyway, thanks for joining me.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
Guys, check out the anime Dude and Poseidon Mythos on
all the platforms. Shimp hope, and I'll see you all
next time. Later, Gamers, Gamers, the endings are so bad.
