Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yo, what is up boys? How's it going? And welcome
back to another episode of the Rant Cafe Anime podcast
with Me. Today we have anime Ricon who recommended Strike
the Blood. What up, dude?
Speaker 2 (00:11):
What up?
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Guys? It is good to be back and I can't
wait to see the good things that these two have
to say about Strike the Blood.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
And then we have Jordan the anime dude, who recommended vond.
Speaker 4 (00:25):
Yes, sir, what's up everybody? I was excited to watch
that one. I held off just for this so it
wasn't easy, but but worth.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
It, and I am your host, Briggs. I recommended Help
because people in Chat were wanting us to watch HELK.
But then we also recommended Fate Stay Night, which was
my real recommendation. I feel like Help was like Chat's recommendation,
and then Fate Station Yeah two thousand and six, the
original Fates Day Night. With my recommendation.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
I was about to say, don't don't pum that off
on Chat. You got to own your recommendation, Briggs.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
You've made us watch Fate s Day Night two thousand
and six.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
And it was fucking fantastic.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Watched the U foldable version. You could have just said
you foldable, I.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Mean would have been better. That one is better. I
will agree, but.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
If I had to, like rank the four shows I
watched for this week's podcast, I think Face Day Night
two thousand and six might be in spot number four.
The yeah way Briggs has been making us watch crap
here for like five weeks now. I'm tired of him
trying to palm that title.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
Handshakers, we got freaking.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
The smartphone ki, we got King's Avatar, like he's making
not King's Avatar?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
What's the recommended avatar? No?
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Not, there was another one after that. I'm blanking on it.
But the other Chinese anime I can't remember.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
But all I know is Lord of Mystery.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Yeah, Briggs is like one of five and like the
last five weeks.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Losing their mind right now. That okay, let's you know what.
I want to know what you guys have to say
about Fate stay night.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
Let's let everyon go first, because he's the Fate Virgin,
I think, right.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yeah, I've never seen this animate before. I kind of
know the concept of it and the whole Holy Grail
war thing, but that's pretty much, and I know and
I know some characters, but yeah, this was pretty I'd say,
I don't know. Shiro, the main character, just kind of
reminds me of Deku for some reason.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
He's just like this puny weakling who gets overpowered after
summoning the Great Saber from the from the ground and
he's like immediately just overpowered, just like that. Yeah, but
but he.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Didn't get overpowered in the first three episodes. He had
a he had a servant that was overpowered.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
I know, I know, but that's what I'm trying to say.
He will soon get overpowered, but the servant is gonna
pretty much fight for him in the Holy Grail War
because he gets entangled into the whole thing after summoning Saber.
But it first started as you know, regular high school,
and then we get some little sneak peaks about Wren
and she's like the Switch or major or whatever she is,
(03:07):
and with her is her friend what was his name,
fucking know? Was it Archer? It was his name Archer, Yeah, but.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
We don't know her his real name. He is the
Holy Grail War.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
M hmm. Yeah, there's like different classes in the Holy
Grail war, and then they get into fights, and then
Shiro gets into a fight as well with the the
lance guy was it the blue haired guy? Lancer?
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Lancer?
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Yeah, God, there's just so many fucking names to.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Him and not dude, it's the weapons that they will
for the both part. We have sabers, yeah, we.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Have archer, we have lancers.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
I'm said, you don't know their names, like, you can
always just call him by this class.
Speaker 5 (03:49):
So it just to make it easy in that.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
I guess.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
But yeah, the names who I know.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Yeah, but I'm saying, even if you've seen like twenty faiths,
you can always just be like, oh yeah, that's n's answer.
People know what you're talking about. You know, you don't
have to remember the names.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Part of this duel is undercovering who these people are
from history, and once you discover their names, they could
help you maybe take them on. He could know maybe
their strength, their weaknesses. And a part of the game
is supposed to be a rule that once you discover
their names, you're supposed to fight to the death or whatever,
but they don't really do that, so it's not even
really a rule anyway, continue recon on. I've had a correct.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Okay, and then there's a lot of you know, high
school stuff going on, which is which is all right,
it's simple. And then Hiro gets into a little bit
of a fight with Lancer and he gets injured, and
then he gets to summoned Saber at the very end,
and we get to learn a bit more about the
Holy Grill War and the whole thing about you know,
of Saber being summoned and she has to participate in
(04:51):
the Holy Grill War with Chiro. It was okay, just
coun didn't really help with Studio Dean's animation that I
really would have preferred you for over a Studio Dan.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
So the thing is, they're technically different stories. So these
are all from a visual novel, and so Fate zero
happens first, it's like the prequel, and then Fate Stay Night,
Face Day Night, Unlimited Blade Works by Ufoltable, and the
Heavens Feeld movies are all technically happening at the same time.
They're just different routes depending on Shiro, our main character's decisions.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Yeah, and that's that's.
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Where my biggest critique comes in, because as somebody who
actually does enjoy Fate Phase zero is probably my favorite
but the unlimited Blade works is pretty alright. Heaven's feel
was great. It's like I already know the basis of
like the foundation of them setting stuff up, but there
was a lot of info dumping here that like of
stuff I already knew, and then uh, on top of that,
(05:48):
it was just like way worse quality of you know,
everything leading up to the Sabers, like Summon is going
to be like the same in all three paths, right,
so it's like I'm watching the same thing. I've already
seen the same setup, but just like way worse. So
that was where my critique came in.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
Yeah, the worst even.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
Even just the way that they approached it and stuff
they like, there's so much like long winded dialogue of
just info dumping and I feel like you fotable, you
know they have that as well, Like Fay Zero has
a lot of info dumping at the start, but they
make it not as noticeable because there's stuff kind of
going on, right.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
Like they the way that they go about it, it
looks interesting.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Yeah, I still prefer faate Apokrypha though, shut up, come on, man,
the best character.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
I've ever watched. I dropped that.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Ship, but it was the same concept the whole Royal
War character it is and and no, I guess you
could say that, but it had it has better characters.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
Amazing, you know, I get the critique is up Hiro though,
Like as far as characters go, he's very much an
extreme of h.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
He's an extreme that's like very single minded and very naive.
And then, uh, watching that at the beginning can be
a little bit frustrating, right, Like he is trying to
help everybody with everything, so he's just kind of a
push over where they're like, can you clean the school building?
Speaker 5 (07:08):
He's like, I'll clean the school building. Can you fix this?
I'll fix this.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Like he good with his hands, good at fixing things.
So like we get a little bit.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
He's not bad, he's not great, but uh.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Yeah, he's just a nice guy to an extreme, right,
So he does definitely remind me of Deku and Tanjurou.
Like you guys have kind of said I did. I
don't love him either. I'm gonna be honest, I don't
love him as a character either. It could get annoying
seeing his naivete and stuff like that. But I do
think like the reason why he has this self sacrifice
(07:38):
in this heroism does come like they at least they
explain it. It happens with his backstore that he was saved.
He saw this person as a hero, so he wants
to be a hero. He wants to save people like
he was saved, and like he knows people are taking
advantage of him, and he still like helps with a
smile on his face. And I do think there's something
nice about that.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Yeah, I I enjoy Hiro as a character more. I
think after having seen Fate Zero that's what I started with.
So with it's like hard to, I guess, go too
deep into why. I do appreciate his character without like
spoiling any of that.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
So I still prefer the protagonist of Apocrypha, though he
was better than Shiro.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
I haven't seen Hi Poker. Who's the Is that the
pink hair dude?
Speaker 3 (08:24):
No, no he's not. He's not pink hare anything. Uh.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
I forgot his name with him? No, no, it's not dark blue.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
No no, no, it was like grayish.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Oh my club blinde. I asked, maybe, UH forgot.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
It was like grays. I completely forgot his name because
it's long. It's been a long time. Man.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
I feel like the only one I ever see art
of and like stuff about is the Stulfo and he has.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
Pink hair, so I h I don't know characters. Is
he not the main character?
Speaker 3 (08:51):
No, he's he's a side character, but is like the
best girl pretty much.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
That That's one thing I do enjoy about Faith though,
is it almost feels like everybody's their own you know,
they main character of their own lives, and they're all
just kind of coming together for this this cultic ritual
here in the East, So it's a I don't know,
like there is the main character, but also not really
so for a lot of Fates.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
I think I'm definitely very biased upon this watch because
it was the first one I watched in the Fate
series and it got me into Fate, and having watched
Fate zero and Unlimited Blade Works and knowing what happens,
I appreciate this route a lot, or like I just
appreciated a lot more, maybe the nostalgia wise, maybe I'm
(09:33):
a little bit blinded. But there is one Have you
watched this original before Jordan's.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
I have not, so I started with Fate zero and
then I watched it Unlimited Blade Works, and then the
heavens feel trilogy, and then I've delved into a couple
other spinoffs from there, and I know Fate Strange Fake
is a you know, we got the prologue episode recently
ish and then twenty twenty six that's gonna be coming out.
So that's about the extent of what I've delved into
in Fate, and I need to read the visual novel,
(10:00):
but because I've read stuff about it, but not not
all of it myself yet.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
So do you remember who the main love interest was
in Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Works Unlimited Blade Works, yes, yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
And then in Heaven's Field is the other one who
sucks that no one likes.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
Yeah, and I know who it is for the Studio
Dean version as well, but I also know that they
like kind of mixed all three routes together, just trying
to make it its own original anime. So that's I've
heard a lot of critiques about this one, and you
don't see those in those first three episodes because it's
all set up.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
But yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Don't have any very many strong opinions on it myself,
but I hope this arc gets or this route gets
uh gets remade eventually because I want to see it
actually look good.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
You know, I'm gonna be honest. I like this route
in theory like for like love interest wise without getting
into it and spoiling for Recon actually the most.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
Nah, you can spoil it. I'm not. I ain't gonna
watch this shit.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
No, I just want.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
I want to go. I want to go to the
euphotable version, not the Dean version. You can spoil the
Dean version. I want to go to the Fotable version.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
I was about to say, I feel like Briggs ruined
Recon as far as first introductions of Fate, because it's.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Not ruined me. I know I would watch it if
it was you Fotable because I know you Fotable has
great animation.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
All right, they really do chat.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Maybe you're right, Maybe Recon is an anime tourist.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
You know what. You can call me a tourist as
much as you want.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
I will.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
I will say as I really didn't love the Demon
Slayer manga because I've mostly read it. But one of
the reasons I kind of lean into being like a
Demon Slayer hater is because your Potable is so focused
on on Demon Slayer and it makes them so much
money that I understand why they do it, but it
means we get less Fate and like other type moon
stuff from you photable and that just makes me sad
a little.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
Yeah, guys, do you know why does Goku have a tail?
I don't even know why Goku has a tail.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
He's an alien?
Speaker 1 (12:00):
Why Recon? Is that set up for a joke?
Speaker 5 (12:02):
Oh yeah, yeah, don't worry. But you can't just set
up a joke and then not say the joke is.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
It was a joke.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
It was a torst joke. But anyway, don't just.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Move on anyway. Okay, Freezer, because she's.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
A you saying monkeys.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Okay, let's continue. That was your thoughts on Fate, stay night. Man.
I really was hoping that like Rerecon might like it
or order you would like it and want to see
this route. And I was gonna be like, let's let's
watch the story.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
Oh man, this route what I want to do.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
I would have suggested, let's watch this entire thing for
a future week, but I guess that's not happening. Okay,
let's watch unlimited blade Work eventually.
Speaker 5 (12:58):
Yeah, you know what's funny?
Speaker 4 (12:59):
I feel like Blade Works is my my least favorite
between like Heaven's Feel and then I I zero. Yeah,
I enjoyed Heavens Feel, and I enjoyed Fate zero. Face
zero is my favorite, but zero it's just kind of
okay for me.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
It goes Fate zero, Fate Stay Night, Unlimited Blade Works,
and then Fate Stay Night, then Heavens Feel okay. So
I do like Unlimited Blade Works more than Face Day Night.
But there are some things about Face State that's Stay
Night the original that I liked specifically, like the the
love interest and stuff like that. But anyway, mm hmm,
(13:36):
we will get into the next animate. What do we
want to talk about next?
Speaker 3 (13:41):
You got Bond, you got Hell, you got Strike the Blood.
We can go for Strike the Blood if you want
to let it. Let that.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
Why don't we let that good stuff out Bond? We're
all new to it. It's relevant. Let's talk about Bond.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
Bond. I'm glad I recommended this spot. It was a
good watch. I enjoyed it.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
M I feel like a thing going for it like
it had you know what ricaon? You go first?
Speaker 3 (14:06):
You really want me to go first, because I have
more bad things to say than good for this for
this one shot anime Well, the thing is it doesn't
really I mean, first of all, I've seen so much Isaki,
so many is from twenty fifteen all the way up
(14:26):
until now, and this one isn't really any different, so
to say, because I mean, what do you mean, No,
it's not really that different.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
What do you mean he wasn't to another world with
a fucking unique.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Okay, listen, listen, LERI listen.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Let me let me just explain.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
So you got two characters who are the term homesickness,
like they're just fed up of being at home. They're
fed up of the real world and they just want
to experience something new in their life. So what they
do is take a portal to another world. What I'm
I'm saying is I've seen it before. You got characters
(15:04):
and this guy who are being overworked and they're stressed
in life.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
You're saying that this is similar. This is similar because
it's a guy.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
You're like this, Yes, because it's the same. It's the
same concept of how the other A lot of other
characters go to somewhere.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
I'm not trying to laugh that much. But of all
the opinions on this, like I was ready for negative.
I was ready for anything.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Really, no more to say.
Speaker 5 (15:29):
I know, I know.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
That just got me so off guard that this is
just like every other we've seen from twenty fifteen, like.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Other I've seen, other than the fact that it's a guy. Literally,
you're like yonder, I don't like the fact that they
write to another world. Okay, so continue.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
You've got two characters, Rinn and diet your homesick experienced homesickness,
and they want to go another world. It's nice and
you like you get to see their intentions of what
they really want to do. But the problem, the problem
with this anime is that you don't really connect with
(16:11):
the characters so much as the other anime because this
goes by so quick and it's only one episode and
it's only eighteen minutes long, and the fact that the
girl has more screen time than the guy is a
big issue for me because the cute girl, like, yeah,
everyone wants to see written because she's cute and all
(16:33):
that stuff. I felt like Diichi really was left out
a lot in the story. Yeah, you get to know
a little bit about their backstory and shit like that,
but it was a bit of a problem for me
to connect with the characters because it was just so quick.
It was so quick. It was like I want to
see more. Not a lot of things were explained. Well,
it's like, yeah, you have to like use your brain
(16:55):
a little bit to put some pieces bits and pieces together.
But it just wasn't really enough, you know. Sure, the
animation was nice. I mean, the animation was like the
good things I have to say is like the animation
was good, the music was amazing, But that's really pretty
much it. Characters, okay, stories not really there but for
(17:16):
a for a first time anime by Gigick, not bad,
but I wouldn't say it's amazing.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
As somebody that's never seen Empire cooking in another world,
how does he compare? It's a question for recon how
does Daike compare to the character from that? Uh, they're
both Iseki per dagon is campire cooking in another world.
Speaker 5 (17:37):
So I'm just curious that there's a comparison there or not.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
What I'm trying to say is that a lot of
other characters in Isakai that I've seen are also homesickness,
Like they have the issue with being homesick, Like they
don't want to be in the in the real world anymore.
They're over worked or whatever, and they get hit by
a truck and they go to another world or fall
off a cliff and they go to the world and
they experienced all the power and the glory. Same thing
(18:02):
with this anime real they experience something new in their life,
something nice, and they get cool powers or whatever. It's
it's this it's similar concept. You know what I'm trying
to say. No, Okay, you know, forget.
Speaker 5 (18:17):
I get. I get kind of what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
But is oversaturated?
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Okay, I didn't really.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
Think of this as like akai really is I guess
where the disconect is?
Speaker 3 (18:31):
How how is the world?
Speaker 5 (18:36):
I guess literally that's the case.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
But it's a uh, I guess I watched this from
like a thematic standpoint. So they're they're venturing out into
the world to start the journeys because it's a it's
a coming of age type story, right, and it starts
with them kind of doing that in parallel, so we're
watching two different time periods without it explicitly saying that.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
And you know, we eventually see that like ich was
the one that kind of raised this girl before she
went out into the world to try to you know,
make a life of her own.
Speaker 5 (19:06):
Right.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
So I just recently watched this right before the podcast.
I haven't gathered all my thoughts, but I loved how
how in such a short run time they made it
very much show not tell. They they compacted those themes
and were very concise with how they uh portrayed those
and then, uh, I don't know, I thought I did
it really well as far as tackling that uh that
(19:28):
weird period between like, you know, trying to go out
in the world, figure out who you are, find find
your own way, and like a parents maybe tendency to
you know, they're they're worried about you, so like they
because they care. So it's like, uh, the balancing of
trying to let them do their own thing and like
fail on their own and and things like that, while
also still letting them know, hey, you know you can
(19:50):
always come back, you know, the visit or what else
whatever else have you. So I don't know, that was
really good, really sweet, little short fil like it didn't overstay.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
It's welcome in a lot of ways.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
So so I agree for the most part, Jordan, I
do have my my issues along with Riecon as well.
So I think like it looked beautiful, right, The music
was great. I did like the way that it was
too like simultaneous parallel stories happening at the same time,
but I didn't explicitly say, like what was like the
timeline of it, So they're like they're both having their
(20:25):
coming of age story, but they're technically he was the
one who raised her or whatever. I liked that like reveal,
but I don't know, man, I feel like I wasn't
invested at all, Like I didn't care. I didn't have
like an emotional investment for them to actually care. And
I think the problem is just it was just they
tried to do an entire like story in eighteen minutes.
(20:48):
I think at the end of the day, it was
beautiful to watch, but I didn't care that much because
it was just short and slightly underdeveloped. I like when
they show don't tell, but sometimes you need a little
bit of both, you know. I also feel like I
watched the dub and I didn't like it that much.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
I still I'm not watching YouTuber's fucking voice act anime.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
No, But there really.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
Wasn't they did they did good, and they did good.
There really wasn't like a ton of ton of dialogue though,
so I feel like it didn't make that big of
a difference. Uh Regardless, I guess I still need to
watch the subversion. But I thought they did well with it.
I don't know, I like I see I guess where
criticisms would come from. But it gave me like, uh
like shelter type vibes and how it tried to tell
the story without overstaying it's welcome or like overly explaining
(21:35):
everything right, But it was like there was enough context
clues in like the little things to help you pick
up where it was going with it, so like prior
to ever it ever revealing that like dai Chi racer
and stuff, in my mind, I was like, is she
his mom?
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Like?
Speaker 4 (21:48):
Because I kind of saw what they were doing with
it right as far as setting up those those themes
and then tack tackling them in parallel.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
So I enjoyed it.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
I don't know, it was cute, solid, little like seven
point five to eight out for me.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
I do want to say, it wasn't like YouTuber's voice acting.
It wasn't like the main guy like the guy who
does sung John Wu and solo leveling.
Speaker 5 (22:10):
Can you guys tell me, I'm bad with voice actor names.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Like, it wasn't Alex Lee. All right, I'm looking this up.
This is gonna bother me. It wasn't just YouTubers voicing
them rican. It was definitely those professional voice actors. I
think like you had a little cameos here and there.
Uh bonn dub Oh wait, no way.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
It is it is? It is funk Sorry, yeah it is.
It was Alex Lee that voice to me, yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Yeah, professional voice actor voice our main character. And I'm
gonna be honest. He made this guy sound a little
too badass at times for me, I'm just like, why
am I hearing the goat like.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
I'm hearing I'm hearing is sung jin Wu?
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Is that you? It's just like this guy who lacked
confidence and wanted to start a new in a way
or like had these things sounded a little too cool
and like dry for me, as if he was about
to like farm aura on people is what it felt like.
(23:16):
But like as he got older, I do get him
having that like deeper, drier voice. I just felt like,
I don't know, I just feel like for eighteen minutes,
I just a lot happened. It It was it was
beautiful to watch. It was nice to watch. I just
I it's like a seven out of ten, six point
five out of ten for me, it's like this total
shift as well, it was a little bit it was
(23:37):
it was just obviously it's rushed. It's eighteen minutes. Yeah,
for what they for the amount of time they had,
I think they did a good job. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
I also I would have liked it a little bit
less if it was like longer ago, like if it
like overstated it is welcome and like tried to like
over should.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Have been longer. It should have been longer.
Speaker 5 (23:53):
Yeah, it just it's too quick.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Eighteen minutes for for an for an Isaki, it's too quick.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
I see what you're saying. And though, Jordan, if they
just did exactly the same content and reveals in more episodes,
but I feel like.
Speaker 5 (24:06):
They could have been more maybe. Yeah, so I slashed
it out a little.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Bit, explain what's going on, But I like, I do
like not tell. That was my main issue with fucking
Strike the Blood, which we're gonna get into shortly. Well,
we get to rate the anime. Let's let's rate the anime.
I give Bond a six point five out of ten.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Yeah, I give it a six.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
I'd give it an eight. I think my favorite thing, like,
if I had to pick one, was Kevin Pinkins's soundtrack.
So and I know he's done stuff for like Made
in the Biss and whatnot, like all this stuff. Whenever
he does it, some of his tracks just sounds so
like adventurous and like the start of an adventure, So
like the track they chose for whenever they're first going
(24:46):
into the elevator slash tower, and like the the start
of their new lives or journeys. Like I felt like
it was just kind of on point, right, Like it
just felt.
Speaker 5 (24:54):
Like it really fits.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
So I agree, I don't know, it felt like I
felt like a good journey and good choice in that
regard as well.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Maybe given like I have to just judge it off
of one episode's story, maybe I'll give it a seven
out of ten.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
Yeah, I mean, Gigg did well. It's his first anime project.
I mean, so many anime fans would love to, you know,
have their own anime or or whatnot for a first
time anime. Not bad, but I mean, yeah, he did
fund the whole thing, which was expensive, but which you know,
he didn't want to keep going of obviously because it
(25:25):
would have been too much money. It's not bad, but
for a story like this, there needs to be more
because it's I can tell that the story would have
been complicated because there's just so much, so much to uncover,
and it's in eighteen minutes. You can't just reveal everything
in just eighteen minutes. It just doesn't work that way
in my opinion.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
So I will say I do enjoy Gigag's content. Been
watching the Dude since he had like twenty thousand subs
like way back when. Probably way too long, but I
did my best when rating it to try to be
objective and like not let that uh like be too
much of it by I see right, even though even
if it's even if it's there so true.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
Anyway, let's get into the next anime, Strike the Blood,
and then we're gonna talk about help. Strike was recont pick,
Can I go? I wouldn't mind.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
First, Yeah, I want to hear it Briggs first, so
tell me it's good. Come on, boy.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
It was the worst anime I watched this week by far.
I was bored out of my mind. They they did
a bunch of info dumping in the first episode and
then slowly revealed the things that they already Info dumped.
It drove me crazy. It really like the slow reveals
and surprised. She's homunculous. Oh my god, she's an artificial
human designed, so that's you Like, It's like, then, don't
(26:44):
fucking Info dump me all this stuff about the world
and then act like all these characters are surprised, like
I would rather have found out organically. Also, it was
like the exact opposite of Bond. Bond showed, not tell.
This show told us everything. And dude, the dialog, the
dialogue felt so pointless. Seventy five percent of the time,
(27:04):
the conversations that these kids are having just felt like
it was CHATCHIBT generated. It was a homoculous, fucking what.
Speaker 5 (27:11):
Do you mean chat gibt.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
This came out before Chad GBT.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
I was making a joke that it felt like the
dialogue was so and it's so artificially designed. It's like
make high schools talk, but like they're vampires and stuff.
That's what it felt like. Shoot, what else vampires in
the sun also bothers?
Speaker 3 (27:34):
No, what did you think about the what did you
think about the most famous line and strike the blood
which is no SEMPI this is our fight. What did
you think of that?
Speaker 1 (27:44):
About that? I didn't think anything. I was bored in
my mind, dude. It was hard to pay attention.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Just tuning into your Twitch stream and you're just sitting
there like you are so unimpressed.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
I was and get away with watching two episodes, but
I'm like, you know what, I get mad at Ricon
for not watching my picks. He I'm gonna sit here
and watch this one.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
I'll tell you what, Ricon, I watched four episodes of
this one, because that's wow.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Yeah, okay, how the fuck did this get yeast?
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Actually?
Speaker 1 (28:18):
How break five seasons?
Speaker 5 (28:20):
So because I will.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
Say everybody likes it well, and the latter seasons are
more like OVA like and yeah they're they're very like
six episodes, eight episodes, et cetera. So that first season
is like twenty four episodes long. So it's probably better
to think of it as like there's like two full seasons, right, Like,
I don't think there's like five full scenson.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
There's over twenty volumes of the light novels.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
But uh yeah, yeah, so Jordan, what did you think.
Speaker 5 (28:45):
I went into into this expecting to hate it?
Speaker 4 (28:47):
I'm not gonna lie, uh, but but I couldn't bring
myself to hate it. I actually kind of enjoyed myself
while watching it. It felt weirdly nostalgic in a way
that like, uh, like I hadn't ever seen it, but
like it felt like I had right just because I
enjoyed some of those like mid two thousand's anime that
are trying to create their own world and do their
(29:08):
own thing. I heard a lot of high school DxD
comparisons before I went in, but like, honestly, it reminded
me a lot more of a certain magical index, which
I haven't seen a ton of either. But like just
the way it tries to like set up a world
and all the things going on, like felt very average
in a lot of ways. But at the same time,
like I didn't hate it. I don't know, I don't
(29:28):
know how to explain it. Like I didn't love it,
but I didn't hate it. So very solid, solid, little
pick I'm glad you got me to watch this one.
Speaker 5 (29:35):
Recome, I'm not t breaks.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
I wanted to hear.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
We're surrounded by haters, recon so I got to be
like this is it more than I actually did right.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
My viewer cost cut in half halfway through the first
episode of this because.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
You're hating infections, Briggs, It's because you're just sitting there
so unimpressed that your viewers are a board of you. All.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
You're blaming me on your.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
Exactly. You gotta be more enthusiastic when you when you
watch anime.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
Obviously it was peak anime, vampire anime, obviously, you know
hair anime, great anime.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
Honestly, break here's the tip.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
The panting shots and they kept on referencing. It made
me want to blow my brains out.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Breaks. When you see scenes like this, A small tip
for you. Start bouncing around hype and people will tune in.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
That's what you got to do. I can't. I'm not
the anime actually be good for me to get hype.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
I like how I like how like generically anime it is,
and like how unapologetically just kind of okay it is.
So it's setting up all this world building, right, and
it's like a pit progenitor is, you know, a military
force unto themselves, right, they are controlling the balance of
the world because there was three it's almost like the
three kingdoms. They keep each other in check and then
(30:54):
there's a fourth one tossing everything in the chaos, and
I love how they explain all that and how big
these steaks are and how whole fate of the world
kind of you know, is based on this guy. And
then it's like and the secret organization sent a middle
school girl to keep an eye on him like that.
That is like, it was so ridiculous at times, but
it's just like funny at the same time.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Yeah, speaking of which, I made jokes about that too,
poking in chat just to say, who says Bragg's commentary
during the episodes was better than the show. Yes, I
started dubbing it myself and uh.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
Which I will say that part like their most hate
and criticism. I saw that parts that like didn't really
bother me. Like I get like, she's like fifteen, he's
like sixteen. Uh, Like, I don't know, there's like you probably.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
Would have you probably would have enjoyed watching it in dub.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
You know that there's a dub version for this, right,
I could forget it.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
I did see Swoty say that, like the character should
be older, but I do feel like it is important
that whenever a character is almost like brainwashed by by
an organization from like a young age, like their naivete
in the situation, and like their lack of world experience
is a part of the character, so like, depending on
where they go with that, I could see that being
relevant and important, but uh, I don't know. Overall, it
(32:07):
was just kind of funny in some ways, but like
I don't know, just kind of okay. Like I like
that the classmate was a you know, a high level
programmer apparently for this, uh this whole island and kind
of keeps it all running even though she's just like
she's like a sixteen year old high schoolerally unapologetically anime. Right,
It's it's ridiculous but also not.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Bad, ridiculously bad. All right, let's talk about Okay, what
are we rating? What are we rating Strike the Blood
out of ten?
Speaker 3 (32:37):
Eight out of ten for Strike the Blood. For me, I.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
Don't know if I'd probably give it more like a
five point five or six.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
Better than bad and better than face day nine.
Speaker 4 (32:47):
I don't know how you stopped after the end of
episode three breaks Like this is one of the shows
this week that like, at the end.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Of it, going with you stopped at the point where
he got decapitated. You need to see what happens next.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Four episodes, and then like after that, it was the
end of the first Dark and I was like, I'm
okay with never seeing any more.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
Probably like at the end.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
Of episode three, I was like, all right, well, I
can't just end on that, right.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
I already know he's an immortal vampire, Right, what's there
to watch?
Speaker 3 (33:13):
Dude?
Speaker 1 (33:13):
He's fine.
Speaker 5 (33:13):
They didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
Yeah, but maybe if they didn't IMFO dump it and
tell me, I would have been like, oh my god,
the big character says, they already told me.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
You need to see how his girl reacts when he
arises back from the dead. Arise.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
Okay, one last thing on strike the blood that really
bothered me. So episode two, episode two, you know she's
keeping an eye on him. He's trying to live his
life and go do go do normal things. So he's like,
I'm gonna go to the convenience store, you know, the kmvenie,
Like it's right down the road.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
I want to go.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
Bro.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
He has to stop and wait on her, uh, so
that she can come with so, and then you know
that she stops him at a ending machine for for
like a little cat plushy or whatever, and then like
disaster happens and he never got to go to the
convenience store. And that's gonna bother me. Like the little things, man,
you know, it's the little things.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
I agree. Man, I'm gonna give this enemy at two
out of ten.
Speaker 5 (34:17):
Five point five out of ten for me.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
I mean, you're both haters.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
I'm not a hater. That's above average. Econ, you know,
I could have easily given.
Speaker 5 (34:26):
It a five. Probab would probably be more accurate. I'm
just being contrarian with Briggs. All Right, this is all right.
I gotta lean into liking it, all right.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
What about what about Fates Day Night? I don't think
we we rated Fates Sday Night?
Speaker 3 (34:39):
Oh h four four?
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 5 (34:47):
I don't like it.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
Deck Coop Protagonists get out of here.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
I mean, I think I have Fate Unlimited Blade works
at like a seven, So the Studio Dean version also
probably be like a like a four for me. Like,
I didn't hate it because I like Fate, but like,
I think the fact that I watched it not first
really like hampered my enjoyment of it because it is
stuff I've seen for only the first three episodes and
(35:13):
then like I said, it was like info dumping, not
very high quality comparatively, and like, so just writing those
first three or four episodes, yeah, I like my writing
wouldn't be very good either.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
So I'll be honest. The first episode, I was a
little bored rewatching, but then yeah, the second and third episode,
I was fucking getting invested. Dude, I was getting invested.
It had me, it had me carrying.
Speaker 4 (35:36):
Like I said, everything up to that point though, it
is like stuff we've seen, Like it's stuff I've seen,
just not as well. And then like episode three, I
feel like I enjoyed it a little bit more because, uh,
because I have.
Speaker 5 (35:46):
Seen Fate zero.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
But even then, like there was just a lot of
info dumping in that third episode in particular that was
just straight dialogue with like no movement.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
I think I liked this mora as well, just because
I know who kyritsugu Emiya is and from Fate zero,
and I know the reveal at the end of Fate
Day Night Unlimited Blade works because I know that those
two things. I am watching this from a different lens,
and I think I actually enjoyed it more this time around.
Speaker 4 (36:17):
So because yeah, because I know those things. I was
able to appreciate it a little bit, but then I
just compare it to like the info dumps we got
at the start of Fake zero and at least in
Fase zero, like they're just like walking circles around each other.
They're doing all these like weird things that are just
kind of not necessary, but like it kept me entertained
while while we're just getting all this dialogue. So I
don't know, Yeah, four out of ten for the two
(36:39):
thousand and six version.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
I'll give it a six point five out of ten
for me. Okay, I'm trying to try to not be biased.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
By the way breaks just letting you know it's two
against one at this point.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Yeah, but my podcast and we will watch the entirety
of Fate nighte Dean of Kidding. No, no, well, maybe
we'll do unlimited blade works for Fate zero, or maybe
just maybe we do Fate zero first, as I like
one week, or we'll take a two weeks.
Speaker 4 (37:05):
I watch Zero first, and I enjoyed it, but it
is very like in PHOADELP. Peavy at the start, I
will admit, so, I don't know how Ricona liked that.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Maybe we make them started at Blade Works, which is
such the wrong order making you go all the way around.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
Okay, I don't know if there's like a wrong order
on that.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
There's there's really no story to Fate anyways.
Speaker 5 (37:22):
It's just.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
It's just all about characters. Characters with fucking Lancer Archer
and Jack the Ripper and a Stolfo and and I
don't know, swordman, sword girls. You know, all these character names,
saber and all these character names. Just fighting in a
great war. That's pretty much all that is.
Speaker 4 (37:44):
So I will say stories are a bunch of characters
coming in and having their paths cross recon So that's
typically what a story consists of. One of my favorite
things about uh is how, like I said, each character
kind of feels like a main character in their own way,
and uh so on that note, like Fate strange fake
the newer version that kind of continues that main storyline
(38:06):
I'm familiar with when we're getting that.
Speaker 5 (38:08):
I know.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
The novels are written by the guy that did Bacano
and dondadan and that's like a big thing about his novels.
Is not even a big Dondadon guy, but he's very
good about like having every character kind of feel like
a main character in their own way. Right, There's a
lot of different characters that just have like their paths
crossing crossing, So I don't know looking forward to that because.
Speaker 5 (38:27):
I will see there's so much more there.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
Yeah, I absolutely absolutely agree. Jordan completely agree and also
recon like, they're not all independent of each other. They're
all going on within the same world. And like, at
least with these ones, I don't know about all the things, yeah,
but at least with these ones, Fate zero will open up.
Fate zero happens directly prior to fate S Day Night,
So when we watch this zero, it will influence your
(38:51):
opinion of Fate's Day Night because these are relevant characters
that have influenced future characters. Like anyway, let's let's move on.
Speaker 5 (39:01):
To help, Oh help, Okay.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
I loved it. I thought it was so fucking funny.
Speaker 5 (39:07):
I enjoyed this one probably most this week. I liked it.
Speaker 4 (39:09):
I I will say episode three, where it ends off,
I couldn't stop there because best Girl, Best Wife WU
loses an arm and I'm like, all right, well, I
gotta keep watching, right, So I watched four episodes of
this one as well. I'll probably watch more cool, cool,
solid little series. Any opinions from you recon.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Verycon go ahead. I've watched the whole thing, so oh,
you didn't rewatch the first three episodes, I'd imagine you
gotta starting.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Hella is very recent. I already know what happens.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
What happened is very recent. That's fine. That's fine. Then,
I guess you like. What do you like about Help?
Speaker 3 (39:47):
It's very funny, it's good, a lot of action. I
love the protagonist really reminds me of like, what's his name, Hercules.
It's like this, this get this Chad is literally Hercule.
He's the only human who's competing in the tournament to
become the Great Demon Lord, and everybody just loves him
in the tournament and this one girl who is just
(40:10):
trying to make him lose because she refuses to have
a human pretty much rule this rule of the world.
So it's all fun in games, tournament and fights, and
you know, she's trying to make him lose, and how
is she going to make him lose? And she's trying
to change rules, but he always beats her, he always wins,
and it's like, it's funny.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
Great character is good action, good comedy.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
Dude, I don't know if I love the dub as well.
Some of the dialogue is just so stupidly funny. It's
it's amazing, it's actually amazing. Like I am going to
finish this series for sure.
Speaker 4 (40:47):
The manga that's been on my radar for a bit,
because I know it's only like one hundred chapters. I
heard it doesn't like, you know, overstate its welcome or
it's like very compact and like the story it tells,
and from these first three or four episodes of like
watching the anime, it does feel like it's actually building
up to something as well, so like it's it's funny
in the immediate sense for being entertaining and uh just comedic,
(41:08):
like it did make me laugh a few times. It
was kind of ridiculous, but then it feels like it's
setting up serious stuff to kind of go in parallel
with that. So so I don't know, I'm I'm I'm
I'm invested in this one.
Speaker 5 (41:19):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (41:21):
I enjoyed episode two being called like and from Management,
and I sat there the entire time trying to figure
out what the heck that means. And then it was
just an alius at the end of the episode.
Speaker 5 (41:30):
But I'm like, like, what do you mean? And from management,
how's that was that? Like an episode title? What is
this even about? But uh yeah, I don't know. Pretty
enjoyable over you guys.
Speaker 3 (41:40):
You guys are really gonna love what happens in the
later episodes with the Hell because a lot of people
are saying, yeah, he builds up to something, like he
becomes something. And I remember how in the first episode
it shocked me to where he's a human but he
hates his kind.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
Let's destroy all the humans, so funny, it's so funny,
and everyone just buys it.
Speaker 1 (42:04):
And then like even by the like at first, like haha,
he's just like he's just playing into there, like he's
just like trying to convince them or like, and everyone's
gullible and it's just funny, right, He's just a lovable dude.
So he says he hates humans even though he's a
human makes sense to me. But there's a part of
me that's like, maybe he is on the demons side.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
What you'll find out, you both will find out.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
Everything, and maybe he just want to be the demons
and he's gonna be kind to demons, but maybe he'll
also use that power to help humans too, who knows.
I think I like the fact that people are telling
me that, like it actually goes somewhere and it's not
just gags the entire time. But at the same time,
I just liked the gags. I'd be okay with it
just being gags the whole time.
Speaker 4 (42:49):
It felt like it was going somewhere. But then yeah,
the gags were great. Like I said, him just running
with a Steve below him or whatever like along with
it like cracked me up. Them trying to come up
with other events that sound boring on surface level, like
the like stacking cards and then but then it turning
into something deeper, like one of these people's like, wait, no,
you know there's meaning to this. They're trying to figure
(43:12):
out how well you can protect the fortress while also
you know, being this is you know, imperative to becoming
the dmon king, all right, they're testing core character traits here.
It's like, that's not what we're trying to do at all.
We're just trying to sabotage this guy.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
They're trying to figure out how do we make him lose.
Speaker 4 (43:29):
I love that guy watching an anime and read way
too into it and they're like, no, it's it's literally
just a Nissa guy where he's it's not that deep fun.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
Yeah, well, I love the moment where they did this like, uh,
this monster enemy and he has a sword at his
at his side and you're like, really he's gonna take
this at this enemy on and someone's like, well, if
you've noticed he has a sword at his side that
he hasn't used up until this point. And then he
just goes and kicks the monster and then pulls the
sword out afterwards.
Speaker 5 (43:58):
It's a thing.
Speaker 1 (44:00):
Oh my god, this show is I'm giving it an
eight out of ten. Boys, I'm giving this an eight
out of ten.
Speaker 5 (44:05):
That's a good show.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
Sadly it is so underrated.
Speaker 4 (44:08):
So ination to get to the castle here, it's like, hey,
we're coming in, open up or whatever they say.
Speaker 5 (44:14):
I don't I don't think I remember the wording.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
More people need to watch helk do.
Speaker 5 (44:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (44:18):
Like I said, I enjoyed The Immortal Girl too. I'm like,
this show actually has like a bit of a wife
who there, Like she has this cute character I'm invested in,
and then she got her arm cut off. At the
end of episode three and I'm like, well, there goes
the three episode rule. That's how they hooked me.
Speaker 5 (44:30):
I'm like, I, I.
Speaker 4 (44:31):
Gotta make sure she's okay. I can't just stop there.
So so yeah, good little show. I give it like
a seven for me.
Speaker 5 (44:39):
So far, so nice.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
I give it a nine. Oh the whole show, I
give it a nine.
Speaker 1 (44:45):
Okay. On that note, next week, we're gonna be watching
the first and first episode for as many seasonal anime
as we can. I'm gonna aim to do around ten
to twelve. Hopefully you guys can do the same. Try
and watch the most popular ones, the ones we more
or less hop about last week. But if there's any
other ones that you want to watch, go ahead and
watch it, and we'll discuss it and recommend what to watch
(45:07):
and what not to watch for the people that listen
in You lost.
Speaker 4 (45:10):
Me on the whole watching anime part, it's I don't know.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
That sounds like a lot, and this sounds like all
got a lot.
Speaker 1 (45:19):
I would love to do an episode just talking about
all of Fates Day Night, and then all of Fate
zero and then all of Fate Sday Night Unlimited. Blade
works in the future even if we take two. So yeah,
and then.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
That would be to recon so in his schedule. I
know that that can also be a why don't.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
We why don't we re one of all three of
us rewatch sort Out online? Talk about sort Of online?
Speaker 1 (45:39):
How about that at some point?
Speaker 5 (45:41):
You know, you know what's funny.
Speaker 4 (45:43):
You know what's funny is I've never rewatched sort Art online.
I read the album originally and I enjoyed the anime,
but then I've rewatched Sao Bridged a lot, and I've
never rewatched the original, so.
Speaker 5 (45:53):
I've watched like.
Speaker 3 (45:56):
Four or five times.
Speaker 4 (45:58):
I didn't hate it either. I enjoyed it back when
I watch ship. I've just never rewatched it. So that
would be it'd be interesting to see what the actual
shows like, I kind of forgot.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
I feel like, as much as I would like to
do an episode where we just watch an entire fate,
it's didn't be hard for me to watch an entire
fate in one week, and I know it's gonna be
the same for you guys. I'd imagine with our schedule
is being so busy, so it might be one of
those things where we watch in the background for two,
three weeks and then do an episode on it.
Speaker 5 (46:27):
I I would.
Speaker 4 (46:28):
I've seen zero and Unlimited Blade works like a lot
of times, so yeah, at least a few times each,
so I'm pretty well versed. Yeah, and I feel like
I could talk about it whenever.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
Yeah, true, ridycon for me? Can we can we watch
Face Day Night Dean and do an episode talking about it,
and then we'll do work or it's gonna it'll be
nice to compare. I think it'll be a good podcast
comparing them and moving from one to another to another.
Obviously we're doing seasonals next week, but if you could
(46:59):
watch the one in the background, Jordan too, since you've
never seen this one before.
Speaker 3 (47:04):
Man, you really want me to watch the entire Dean version.
Speaker 1 (47:07):
How many episodes are there?
Speaker 5 (47:09):
It's like twenty six, I think a lot.
Speaker 1 (47:13):
So like it's wait, we could aim for like three
weeks from now. You watch it in the background, and
then we could even do it an SAO as a compromise.
Speaker 3 (47:21):
I mean, I don't mind watching it, but I'm now
ill watch it at like two time speed.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
If you if you like it, watch it normally and
if you dislike it, do what you have to do,
but give it a chance, don't go in blind.
Speaker 4 (47:37):
I think I think, I think we do Unlimited Blade
Works first. Let Ricon actually enjoy and get into Fate
I actually enjoy the experience, and then we can maybe
see I can compare.
Speaker 1 (47:48):
I think that's fine. We could do it first.
Speaker 4 (47:51):
I don't want to make him watch the version he's
not enjoying initially and then like end up just not
liking Fade overall because he tries to rush that or one.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
Of the It's one of those things where you, I think,
if you watch it last, you might not like it.
Speaker 5 (48:05):
As much, which is also fair.
Speaker 4 (48:08):
But yeah, if he's not enjoying it initially, then I
guess that's the.
Speaker 1 (48:13):
But yeah, okay, we just.
Speaker 5 (48:14):
Watch Carnival fantast I'm down for that.
Speaker 1 (48:17):
I'm down for that. Let's do Unlimited Blade Works first.
We'll do that first, and then we'll do Fate zero,
and then we'll do Stay Night, and then we'll do
Heaven's Fields Movies or something.
Speaker 5 (48:29):
Heads up Unlimited Blade Works.
Speaker 4 (48:31):
There is an episode like zero that's like, wait, so
we're doing.
Speaker 5 (48:35):
The Flotable version first.
Speaker 1 (48:38):
We're doing the U Fotable Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade
Works version let's go, but that'll be in the background.
So when you had no rush, like we could still
watch watch other anime seasonals, do other stuff and then
like when you're done, like let's say for like two
three weeks type of thing.
Speaker 4 (48:57):
Yeah, that one can be completely based on on schedule
for whenever he's a you know, able to fit that in.
Speaker 5 (49:04):
This might whatever.
Speaker 1 (49:06):
Yeah, this might be a Fate stay night a month
type of situation or a Fate a Fate series a month.
And I would love to get into the other ones
as well, like Apocrypha, even though it sucks Fates what
is Jordan doing one?
Speaker 3 (49:25):
Apocrypha is my favorite one.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
That's probably the worst one that I watched.
Speaker 3 (49:32):
I'm just saying this because I haven't watched any other Fates.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
Yeah, I got it, so Jordan. I would love to
eventually get into the Fates that we haven't seen, like
Grand Order, Yeah, Apocrypha, even if they're bad. I just
I would like to dive into Fate. I think that'd
be a fun future for this podcast.
Speaker 5 (49:51):
It does sound fun.
Speaker 4 (49:52):
When I originally watched like the main series for Fate,
I really wanted to go down the rabbit hole too.
It could be a lot. There's a lot out there,
but like as long because you.
Speaker 5 (50:00):
Have fun with it, right.
Speaker 4 (50:01):
So yeah, I did watch a little bit of like
the Shaft version first. That was the the one I
dove into right after finishing Heavens Feel, and uh, I
struggled a bit. I'm not gonna lie, but I think
it'd be fun if we did it together, So hell yeah,
test out the different different versions.
Speaker 1 (50:17):
Okay, So for next week, we're watching seasonals first episodes.
After that, we're aiming to do an episode on Unlimited
Blade Works, even if it's even if we have to
skip a week, and that's our plan for now. Love
you guys, Shimpoku and I'll see you all next time.
