To a lot of us, the Olympic golf tournaments brought a lot more excitement than anticipated. Though the viewing hours in our part of the world weren’t ideal, there were a few great storylines to follow and stacked podium in both the men’s and women’s tournaments.
This episode we begin by recapping all of the action from Tokyo including:
Full rundown of the men’s and women’s podiums
A Cinderella story more than 3 years in the making for the nation of Slovakia
The chaos of a 7-man playoff for bronze
Another display of dominance from the best female golfer in the world
Potential team scenarios and adjusted leaderboards should the event have went with a different format
As the Olympics wind down, so does the PGA Tour’s regular season. This week’s Wyndahm Championship represents the final opportunity to crack the top 125 and qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs (and the excessive bonus money that comes with it). We spend some time talking about which players are at risk of slipping out of the top 125 as well as a few big names who need big weeks since they’re currently on the outside looking in.
