Happy New Year! I'm so excited to be back on the podcast after taking some time away. Life has been lifeing, but I'm here and ready to help you tackle the big goals you've set for this year.

In this episode, I share an amazing insight I learned from the book 10x is Easier Than 2x by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy. If you've been feeling like you're not making enough progress toward your goals—or even like you're falling behind—this episode is for you.

I'll walk you through a fresh way to measure your success that’s empowering, motivating, and rooted in progress, not perfection. Whether you're decluttering your kitchen, building a business, or connecting more with your kids, this mindset shift can change the way you see yourself and your achievements.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Focusing solely on future goals can feel like chasing the horizon—always out of reach.
  2. Measuring success by looking backward helps you recognize and celebrate your progress.
  3. A backward-focused mindset reduces stress, comparison, and self-doubt, keeping you motivated to move forward.

I have been away for awhile and.
I'll be honest with you.
Life has been lifeing and I'venot been doing a good job of
managing all the things, but mygoal is that you will be hearing
from me weekly here on thepodcast.

their hair out.

Some insight that I learned thatI really think is going to be
helpful for you, especially aswe are working toward these big

(00:46):
goals that we've set at thebeginning of the year.
But before we get into theepisode, um, I wanted to make a
couple of announcements.
The first one is if you have notbeen a part of the, let's get
more time virtual.
Well summit.
It is coming in February.
So please stay tuned for moreinformation about that.

(01:08):
It will be February 20th throughto 22nd.
You don't want to miss it.
It's going to be great.
Also the new year success bundlefor busy moms.
It is coming here as soon aswell.
It is a bundle with 16 awesomeresources totally for free that
you would normally have to payfor.
That are all designed to helpyou make this new year a

(01:30):
successful one for you.
So, um, definitely check out theshow notes for the links for
both the summit, as well as thebundle.
And make sure that I see youthere because it's going to be
really great.
I mentioned earlier that Ihaven't been doing the best with
juggling.
All the things here.
Especially with working home.

(01:50):
I easily get distracted and Ihave a hard time with staying
focused, but things have changedsince I started using magic
mind.
Magic mind is a mentalperformance shot that I take in
the mornings when I have severaltasks that require me to focus
and concentrate.
So instead of drinking anotherlatte or red bull, I like to

(02:10):
drink magic mind.
And I feel calm and focus.
It's kinda like when Mario getsthat mushroom inside of super
Mario, you know, the game.
So instead of growing andjumping higher, like Mario does,
my superpower is a sharper mindand increased productivity.
Anytime I take this magic mindshot.

(02:31):
So I can focus on creating newcontent for real happy mom for
extended periods of time.
Or I can just really knock outtasks without feeling like I'm
all over place.
Plus, I can manage a busyschedule and.
Still feel calm, which is reallysurprising, considering all the
things that are going on aroundme.

(02:52):
So no more feeling like squirrelbrain or getting easily stressed
out.
I mean using magic mind foryears and I absolutely love it.
And I want you to give it a trytoo.
So I want you to go to www dotmagic, mind.com and experience
the mental clarity and calm thatI do.
So I want to share with you whatI was thinking and the download

(03:15):
that I had while I was drivingin the car.
When I was.
Really reflecting on this newbook that I'm reading it is
called 10 X is easier than twoX.
How world-class entrepreneursachieve more by doing less?
This book is by Dan Sullivan andDr.
Benjamin Hardy, if you'reinterested.
definitely go on Amazon orwherever you get your books and

(03:36):
check it out is really, reallyhelpful, not just for
entrepreneurs, but I think thiswill help you grow in all areas
of your life, whether it betime, money, relationships, your
purpose, or even your business.
So I'm going to share with yousomething that has really stood
out to me.
As I've been reading this bookand I hope it is helpful for
you.
As you are looking at.

(03:59):
How you are progressing withtheir goals, especially if you
feel like you are so far behind, you're not making any progress.
You just feel like you're afailure or maybe you just feel
like you're not good enough forwhatever it is that you're
working towards, whether it be,be cluttering, the kitchen,
trying to.
Start a new business, or maybeit's just trying to connect with

(04:20):
your kids a little bit better.
this has really, really helpedme with how I see.
Myself and how I'm makingprogress.
So, let me stop and I'm going togo ahead and share with you.
What I have been learning.
So I'm in the process oflistening to an audiobook called

(04:41):
10x is easier than 2x by DanSullivan.
I was drawn to this book justbecause I have this knowing
inside of me that knows that Icould be doing so much more,
that I'm capable of so muchmore, but I feel stuck and I
feel small when I'm supposed tobe so much bigger, so much

(05:03):
brighter.
This book has been really I'm inthe part of the book where he is
talking about the gap in thegame.
And this is a really interestingchapter that I'm probably going
to listen to multiple times.
And the reason is because it'sreally got me thinking about the
reason why a lot of people feellike they're not successful and

(05:26):
why they're unhappy with thestate that they're in.
And they explain it sobeautifully in the book, but
what actually happened?
I've gathered from it is that alot of times we're so focused on
our goal.
We're so focused on what it isthat we're trying to achieve
that, that future way out there.
And we're working and strivingtowards it and making progress

(05:48):
towards it.
But it's just like trying to runand get to the, to the horizon.
Like it's always moving.
Like you're never going to catchit.
And as a result, people getunhappy and are dissatisfied
because.
They feel like they're neverachieving the, the end goal

(06:11):
because the end goal is alwaysmoving and going further and
further away.
But the real way to reallymeasure your success and measure
how you're doing is to lookbackwards.
And that's something that Idon't do often, but when I do do
it, I always am just amazed atwhat I've done and what I've

(06:34):
accomplished.
And basically in the book, theout there just talks about
measuring your, your successright now, measuring your,
measuring yourself based off ofwhere you were before.
So for instance, if I'm trainingfor a marathon, let's just say

(06:56):
I'm training for a marathon.
If I look back two years ago,two years ago, I could barely
walk a mile, but now I'm able torun three miles to four miles if
you push me.
And that is a huge win comparedto where I was before.

(07:16):
Now, can I run the 26 point, what is it, one miles?
Right now, absolutely not.
But I definitely can run fourmiles and I feel like I'm not
about to die.
Which is considerableconsidering how I couldn't even
do one.
So when I look at my, myprogress that way, it's a lot

(07:41):
more.
Exciting.
It's a lot more motivating thanlooking at, oh my goodness, I
can only do four and I still, you know, have 22 more miles.
I need to run that.
That doesn't excite me.
That makes me just feel worse.
So looking at your success bylooking backwards, I think it's

(08:03):
a beautiful thing that we can doto help motivate ourselves, to
help us stop comparing ourselvesto.
Help us stop beating up onourselves so that we can
continue to make efforts andtake steps towards the goals and
the dreams that we're workingtowards.

(08:23):
So I know that there are alldifferent things that we're
working on, whether it be atwork, at home just personally
professionally, financially,health wise.
There's so many different.
Aspects of our lives that we canapply this to and I just wanted
to remind you that You aremaking progress.

(08:44):
You you are definitely betterthan where you were before and
to Look in the past and look atwhere you were A few months ago
a few years ago and see how muchprogress you've made and you'll
see that You have definitelycome a long way.
Yes.
There is still more improvementthat needs to be made but You

(09:07):
have definitely You'vedefinitely made progress and
this will help you to not lookat everyone else and look at the
world and look on the outside toget validation or to feel like
you are enough or accomplishingenough, but look at what you've
already done.
Look at your past and see thatyou've made progress.

(09:28):
You are awesome and you gotthis.
So that is it for this episodeto find the links and things
mentioned in this episode.
Make sure you check out the shownotes.
You can find them below whereveryou are listening to this
podcast in the description, aswell as going to row happy
mom.com.
