A slow-moving cold front, building heat and humidity, and upper-level energy are coming together over New England — and that means a risk for severe thunderstorms Saturday.
Matt Noyes breaks down the latest in today’s video forecast, including:
🌡️ Temps in the 85–90° range in Southern New England = plenty of fuel
🌀 A wave of low pressure on the front = added spin in the atmosphere
🌪️ 16% tornado chance (low, but elevated for our region)
🌬️ 65% chance of damaging wind gusts
⏰ Timing: 1 PM to 7 PM from west to east
📍 Focus: Western MA, Central CT, Central and Western NH
These storms will be scattered - not everyone sees one, but the ones that do develop pack a punch. Rotation is possible, and while any tornadoes would likely be brief and weak, this setup deserves close watching.
