On this segment for The Sabrina Soto Show, Danny Morel sits down for a raw, unfiltered conversation that strips away the polished facade of success to reveal what truly matters in life. When his mother passed away, Danny was forced to confront a jarring question despite having achieved everything society told him would bring happiness: "Are you happy?" The answer led him down a path of profound self-discovery that transformed his understanding of human behavior and healing.

The conversation takes us deep into practical healing approaches that anyone can implement, from simple mirror work and life timelines to meditation and breathwork. Danny explains how these practices help us transition from the frequency of fear – where most of humanity operates – to the frequency of love, where authentic fulfillment resides. This shift isn't just personal; it's planetary, as we collectively move from masculine-dominated energy toward feminine heart-centered awareness.

As Danny promises, when you're truly ready to heal, "the right people, the right circumstances, the right everything will just start to line up."

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to a special edition of Redesigning Life.
Many of you know I have a newshow called the Sabrina Soto
Show Out, and I was able toinvite amazing experts in their
fields just to come in and havea great conversation.
But because it's a show, wehave to edit it down.
Now.
These conversations, they wereso good that I wanted to publish

(00:21):
the raw, unedited version, andthat's what this episode is.
You're going to hear action andyou may hear a crew in the
background, but I wanted topublish this so you can really
listen to the entire chat.
So here you go.
Okay and action.
Danny, thank you so much forbeing on the show.
I'm excited to be here.

(00:41):
Today's intention, I think, isso important because it's about
having your whole body, mind andsoul right Taken care of, and
what you stand for is exactlythat.
I've had you on the podcast.
I've cried with you already, soI brought Kleenex in case that
happens now.
And I think the ability why Icried is that you have the

(01:03):
innate ability to make peoplebecome vulnerable and be
authentically who they are, tothe root of where it all started
, and that's you sometimes pusha lot of buttons on social media
because of that, but from whatI gather, it's like we both
understand the same thing of whowe are today is menu.
It's manufactured from where wecame from, yeah, and what the

(01:27):
life that we have created reallycomes down to the wounds that
we've carried.
Can you tell the viewer moreabout how you heal and how
you've come to be danny merlenow?

Speaker 2 (01:39):
yeah, well, I, I think you know, my story started
when my mom died, and, and whenshe died, I was at a point in
my life where I had it all, or Ihad what the world tells us we
need to have to be happy.
I had the big business, the bighouse, the cars, everything.
And when my mom died, somethinghappened within me that just

(02:02):
like split me wide open and itmade me start asking some very
serious questions about my life, questions that I realized I was
afraid to answer and I havebeen staying away from the whole
time.
The first one was are you happy?
Like I didn't even know, likethat I had the right to be happy
and I didn't even know at thattime in my life that there was

(02:24):
this thing called being unhappybecause on the outside I'd had
it all, but on the inside I was,I was a mess.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
So you had the money you had the wife, you had
everything in the beautifulhouse.
What made you unhappy at thattime?

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah Well, the primary reason I was unhappy, I
discovered, was because I hadbeen living my entire life based
off of the outside and not theinside.
Right, and that came from, orit stemmed from, my relationship
with my mother and my father.
All of us have a mother andfather, which means that all of

(03:00):
us have a masculine and feminineside to us, and when we are
children, we enter the world acompletely clean state and we
look up and we see this man andthis woman and we see from them
what we will in the future, experience in life.
It's as simple as the way theylook at us, and when they look

(03:23):
at us with pride and with joyand with love right, then we
think, wow, life is awesome.
This starts literally happeningin our subconscious mind, and
yet, for some of us, one of ourparents wasn't around.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Or sometimes both.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Or when they are around.
They come into this world withtheir own set of woundings that
has been passed down generationupon generation upon generation.
And so we've got these twohuman beings who are trying
their best but don't know how tooffer love.
In my case, it created both themasculine and feminine wound,

(04:02):
the father and the mother wound, because my mom's mom died when
I was only 13 days old.
When she was only 13 days old,and so energetically she never
received the frequency of love,so she didn't know how to give
it to me.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
She just passed that down.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Right, that's right.
And then you got to hold it.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah, exactly.
And then from my father's side,my father was disowned by his
father, so my father never hadhis father around, so he didn't
know how to share to me thatguidance.
And so, as I was lacking thatlove, unknowingly I found love
in power, success, fame, youknow, luxury, you know, not that

(04:44):
there's anything wrong with anyof that, but for many of us, if
we don't know why we'researching for that, it's the
same as drugs, it's the same aspornography, it's the same as
anything outside of us that weare looking for to heal the root
cause, which is, as little boysand as little girls, we didn't

(05:06):
receive the love we weresearching for.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
I understand what you're saying because I think I
had abandonment issues too and Iwas looking to collect success
because of my ego.
Yeah Right.
So for validation, that's right.
If I get this, then I'll feelhappy.
If I get that.
And I was chasing all I waslooking for love in all the
wrong places, that's right.
If I get this, then I'll feelhappy.
If I get that.
And I was chasing all I waslooking for love in all the

(05:29):
wrong places, that's right.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Right, that's right.
And what happens is that we areborn.
We are born and we are in ourhearts.
We are love, we are abundance,we are everything we've ever
searched for.
But when we are shownsubconsciously and energetically
that our heart and love isscary, we go into the mind and

(05:52):
then the mind creates a storyand a pattern and you are living
your entire life from thatpattern.
That's why you attract themoney you have or don't have
Right, the relationship you haveor don't have, and even all of
this impacts our health.
This is where most illnesscomes from.
Is the body, after so manyyears of this uneasiness and

(06:17):
this pain and emotional traumawithin it, can only hold it so
long and then illness is created.
The body keeps score.
That's right.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Disease.
That's right.
Your life is in disease.
Yeah, now I know that you alsobelieve in energetics, like I do
, and this show, for instance.
Right, I've been wanting thisshow my whole life.
I've been pitching this showfor 10 years, but I think last
year I did the most work on myinner child to understand where
my parents came from, to allowmyself to release, to release

(06:50):
that victimhood right Of.
They did this to me, and once Ilet go of all of that and
understood it, everything openedup for me.
So can you explain to somebodywho's because, look, we all have
trauma with our parents, right?
Sure, I mean, I'm sure mydaughter's like 10 years from
now she's going to tell me I didsomething wrong.
Sure, we're all trying our best.

(07:11):
So if somebody is watching thisand they feel like they're in a
rut, can you explain, like in areally simple way, how the
energetics bring or not bringrelationships, money, success,
whatever into your life?

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Well, you are energy, money is energy, your partner
is energy, yeah.
And so if from within I'll giveyou an example If from within,
let's say, you're a woman, I am,you're a woman right, and your

(07:44):
dad wasn't around, or your dadwas very critical of you, or
your dad was veryperformance-based, then as a
little girl, you learn numberone my dad isn't going to
protect me.
Number two, he can'temotionally support me.
And number three love equalsperformance, right, support me.

(08:06):
And number three love equalsperformance right.
So from that story you go outand you tell life, I'll show
life, I'm going to perform at myhighest, I'm never going to
stop until I'm successful andI'm powerful.
And you see, the problem isthat that action was created
from a wounding Right, and soyour life is essentially

(08:28):
creating or being created from awounding within.
When we heal that part of us,you can have everything you've
ever wanted.
It's just that you're no longerchasing it.
You're no longer chasing thesuccess or the money.
It just shows up, it comes toyou, it comes.
That doesn't mean you don't haveto work for it.
You're no longer chasing thesuccess or the money.
It just shows up, it comes.
That doesn't mean.
That doesn't mean you don'thave to work for it, that's
right.
But doors start to open right, and the partner that you're

(08:50):
looking for number one you findout that the one you were
looking for your entire life isnot out there, it's in here.
That's right, it's in here.
And then when you find thatpartner in here, I promise you
it's like magically.
A partner out there justfreaking, shows up because you
are a magnet.
You are literally calling intoyour life's experience

(09:12):
everything on the outside thatmatches the inside.
And so what's the answer andthe solution?
Heal within.
If you heal within, I promisethe audience, you'll make 10
times the money, you'll workhalf as hard, you'll make more
of an impact, you'll help healhumanity, you'll attract love
and, most importantly, you'lllive out the life experience

(09:35):
that you truly, in your heart, want to live out.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
I think everyone has some sort of trauma in their
life, right?
So in order to start thathealing process let's say,
somebody can't afford to go totherapy what modalities could
you do at home that yourecommend to people who come to
Awaken?

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Yeah, I think that's a beautiful question.
I think number one, before youeven go to the modality, is
awareness, right?
Maybe this conversation isstriking something within to the
audience and I would say justgrab a pen and a piece of paper
and start a timeline of yourlife.
Maybe this conversation isstriking something within to the
audience and I would say justgrab a pen and a piece of paper
and start a timeline of yourlife and on the bottom, maybe,
write down the things that youassociate being positive in your

(10:13):
life.
You know, I remember when I wassix, for example.
I remember to this day waitingat Christmas to open this big
present that I knew was a piano.
And then my brother and Icouldn't wait, right.
And then, two years later, mygrandmother died and I remember
how that made me feel right.

(10:34):
And then, a couple years afterthat, my parents got divorced
and I remember what happenedthere.
And then, a couple years afterthat, we moved to Southern
California and I moved into theghetto and I went into like the
worst neighborhood you canpossibly live in and I was
literally scared.
I was scared at 13 years old,right.
And then after that, well, Ihad to learn to drive and I
drove us around illegally at 13because my mom was too scared to

(10:56):
drive.
So there was a lot of like fearin my life, yeah yeah, and
everything that I attracted wasfrom fear.
Fear in my life, yeah yeah, andeverything that I attracted was
from fear.
And our journey in life is allabout leaving the frequency of
fear and coming into thefrequency of love, leaving the
control of the mind and openingand allowing from the energy of

(11:17):
the heart and the modalities Irecommend.
I mean you could start as simpleas go stare in the mirror for
10 minutes.
That's a long time, tanya, sostart for two minutes.
Okay, start for two minutes, but what will start to happen is
like well, I remember when Idid this, I avoided, because I
avoided truth.
I avoided telling my wife atthe time that I was unhappy.

(11:37):
I was scared.
I was scared of her reaction.
Her reaction controlled myvoice and my truth.
That's not her fault, that's myfault.
I have to take ownership ofthat.
And so then I remember rightand I couldn't look in the
mirror, and that alone was apowerful exercise.
The second one is meditate, which is so difficult for people

(11:57):
to do because we are so in thecontrol of the mind, and this is
why I like to combine breathingwith meditation.
Did you just see?

Speaker 1 (12:05):
that I took a deep breath right then.
Yeah, you did.
Yeah, beautiful, because it'strue, it is true, the breath is
so powerful.
Again, I wish I would haveknown this earlier, but I did
understand the energetics and Ithink what you were saying is
like what drives you, and I wassaying that my ego is driving me
.
If somebody's watching this andyou, you said you had it all
and you were unhappy and theyask themselves am I happy?

(12:28):
And they say no, how could youtell if you're being driven from
the ego and from the insecurityand the seek seeking validation
rather than the pure form oflove?
Well, can I be honest?

Speaker 2 (12:40):
No, of course.
What do you think you're herefor?
If you are alive and you are ahuman being today living in this
world, 99.2% of us are allbeing driven by fear and the
mind.
Fear Fear of being judged, fearof being yourself, fear of
everything.
The energy of planet earth hasbeen collectively masculine

(13:06):
power driven, fear driven.
If you don't look like this, then you're not going to get
love.
If you don't go earn this, thenyou're not going to get love.
If you don't, then you're notgonna.
That's the frequency of planetearth.
What's happening right now, which is so beautiful, is we
started shifting about 10 yearsago to the feminine.

(13:27):
It's like all of us arestarting to realize like, oh my
God, like I'm doing all this, but I'm still not happy.
I found a relationship.
I'm 10 years in, I'm miserable, something is wrong, right, and
so we're all, literallycollectively, starting the
process of going back andreturning into our hearts.
So my answer to everyone is andthis is why I do this work

(13:50):
because I thought to myself myGod, if this was me, what about?
And no one had ever talkedabout this stuff.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Yeah, nobody does, nobody does.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Are you happy?
Now, I'm happy is not the word.
It's like you can't describe inhuman language the word.
It's a level of peace,certainty, effortlessness that I
, you can't put your.
Yeah, you can't.

(14:20):
Yeah, I got it.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
I think I got it and I think everyone at home.
We're all striving for thathappiness, right?
We all want to come home to asafe place, not only in our
homes, which is what drives mypassion is to create a beautiful
home that somebody can be.
It's their sanctuary.
But come home to a beautifullife even if you're by yourself,
but, even more important, ifyou have somebody to share it

(14:42):
with.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
What I'd like to say is I just want you to catch,
like you said, striving forhappiness.
Striving is masculine, right, and I would say remove the
striving, like, just be, just be, just like.
Literally go out, take yourshoes off, return to how we once
lived as human beings.
We didn't have clothes, wedidn't have Nikes, we didn't

(15:04):
have this.
We were in nature, we were buttnaked, running around without
judgment, without shame, withouthiding.
Go and just sit on grass, closeyour eyes and literally all you
have to do is tell source, or,as we call it, god.
Tell God I'm ready, I'm done.
Show me the way.

(15:25):
I want to return to my heart.
This thing called life isn'tworking and I know there's a way
to like make it work, and I'mdone.
And I promise you the rightpeople, the right circumstances,
the right everything will juststart to line up because you and
God are one.
You have just been essentiallyprogrammed to believe that you

(15:49):
and God are separate.
You are literally God living ahuman experience, and you get to
create that experience howeveryou want.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
That's true.
I think I've spent most of mycareer being perfect.
You know, in TV really for thelast 20 years I've been this
like perfect homemaker, and thepeople who really know me know
that that's not who I am, andwhat was the story that made you
think that being perfect waswhat you?
needed to be.
That's what people were goingto like Bingo.
But what you were saying, Ithink we are programmed.

(16:21):
Put on the makeup, that's right.
Make sure your nails aremanicured, that's right.
And now I'm more authenticallyme, and now I'm more
authentically me and because ofthat, more things are coming
towards me.
But it's scary, it's so scary.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
It's so scary to let go and return here.
That's it.
So baby steps, yeah, baby steps.
Start with sitting, start withdoing yoga, start with looking
in the mirror, start withbreathing, start with going into
meditation and don't be so hardon yourself, like, understand,
this is a journey and it's okay.
Where you're at is perfect.

(16:56):
Yes, let go of whoever here'sthe other thing.
Let go of whatever judgment, anger, criticism, resentment you
have over anyone from the past, because they were a beautiful
part of the orchestrated thingcalled your journey that got you

(17:17):
to this moment, that X that youhate.
What you actually hate is notthem.
You hate the part of you thatallowed it.
Right, it's not about them.
They're just a reflection forwhat you have inside, cause, by
the way, you're the one thatcreated and attracted them Right
, let go of them.
Send them love.
Thank you for showing me whatheck, even if it's what I will
no longer allow If you can getto that place, then they are

(17:40):
your life's greatest teacher.
Oh my God, love the shit out ofthem.
Yes, and let them go, yes.
So all I would say is ask sourceor God, or energy, or life, or
the God of your choosing, whatever it is.
Just close your eyes and sayI'm ready, like, please, just
show me the way.
I'm ready to open my heart, I'mready to heal the parts of

(18:02):
myself that, that, uh, that Ineed to heal.
And, by the way, be honest, andI don't even know where to
start, but I'm open to you toshow me what is, and I put my
faith in you and just watch, watch how.
All of the right people, theright circumstances, the right
healing, the right modality.
Your journey is different thanmine and it's different than

(18:23):
yours.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Yes, we all want different things.
That's right, absolutely.
We talked about this before andthis is my last question,
because I do want to get startedon.
One of your favorite modalitiesis breath work.
Yeah, but what happens whenyou're in a situation where you
get rewarded for the persona?
For instance, last time you andI talked, I said I strove for
success my whole life and Ibecame this ultra independent.

(18:46):
I don't need anyone, girl.
And everybody was like yes, badass, and I wore it as a
bulletproof vest to keepeveryone away.
Protect this, but I wasrewarded.
So what happens when it'salmost a prison that people are
stuck in?

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Well, number one, the world is going to reward you
for that, because that's theenergy of the world, the energy
of, of, of the 3d of humanity,is meant to keep you from this.
So when it sees this in you,it's going to go yeah, that girl
, that girl got it, she's.
She's a boss babe.
She got it right deep in yourheart.

(19:22):
You don't want to be a bossbabe.
No, you want to be loved.
Yes, you want to be loved, yeah.
And so what?
Someone who is in that positionneeds to say, okay, listen,
like I'm getting rewarded by it.
But what's my truth?
Like?
What do I feel when I sit down?
Can I even sit down?
What do I feel when I rest?
Do I even allow myself to rest?

(19:43):
How long will I keep chasingRight?
How long will I stay in thisenergy that never allows me to
actually enjoy the things thatI'm creating?
And that's when you get tostart asking some questions that
will eventually lead you toyour heart, and that's and
that's the moment right.
There's fear, and then there'slove, and then the the, the

(20:06):
bridge that that crosses youover is courage.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Okay, I lied and I said that was my last question.
One last, I promise you talk alot about masculinity and
femininity, right, If somebodyis living?
I lived in my masculine for toolong.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
What did that look like for you?

Speaker 1 (20:26):
I was exhausted, I was lonely, I was frustrated, I
was lonely, I was frustrated, Iwas angry and I think a lot of
women now because we're told tobe independent, we are told not
to rely on anyone, we're told tocreate our own, and so Hang on
what happened as a little girl, what happened with your dad?
What happened that caused therewas an abandonment, yeah, and I

(20:48):
saw my mom completely breakdown, lose herself, almost ruin
her life, and I said I'm nevergoing to be that.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
I will never let that happen to me.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
That's right.
So then I went the other way.
I'm like go, go, go.
And then I spent the last 30years just sad yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Yeah, and that unfortunately is the state, and
it breaks my heart, but thatunfortunately is the state of
most of our women today.
I know, and here's like, whenyou journey spiritually, like

(21:26):
what we're about to do, in acouple of seconds they start to
show you things and what we haveto understand as a society is
the key to all happiness andpeace is the heart.
Yeah, which means the key hereon planet Earth is the woman.
The woman needs to find herselfback into her heart.
Can she stay in this placewhere I don't need a man to
protect me and to take care ofme?

(21:48):
It's 2024.
She could stay there, but deepinside she knows that that is
costing her something.
Yeah, and that's the journey.
And then, if it was costing mylife.
It was costing mine.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
And I didn't want to I don't want to teach Olivia
that.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yeah, because when we don't allow ourselves to return
here, it just continues.
And this is where we get to bethe one.
Yeah, this is where you're theone right, you're the one for
your family, you're the onethat's doing the work.
So that, not because ofanything out out here, because

(22:27):
of that, because you love yourdaughter and your kids so much
that you don't want her toexperience what you did no,
that's right.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
I don't want her to look at me and say I don't, I
will never let that.
I want her to.
I want to show her thatvulnerability and accepting love
and help is the way tohappiness.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
So when you say what happens when a woman is getting
praised and rewarded for it, shegets to go into her heart and
ask herself what really matters.
Yeah, is it that praise, is itthat reward?
Or is it that little boy orthat little girl that all she
wants and all they want from usis love, which which, by the way
, is the same thing you wantedfrom your mom and dad?

(23:11):
That's right.
We all do.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
That's right, we all do, and I think once I let go of
understanding.
My parents were also human, youknow, they were just human.
They were in their thirtieswhen they broke up.
That's right, and I'm I'mputting so much of my well, they
did, they did, and once I justwas like they did and it's over.
It changes everything.
Okay, so obviously we're doinga show, so I'm not going to

(23:34):
pretend we're not filming a show.
I want to sort of go behind thescenes and allow some of the
crew and some of my friends over, because I think I experienced
your breath work and I thinkbreath work is such an amazing
modality to unlock a lot ofpented, you know, like stuck
energy, so I invited some peopleover Beautiful, we're going to
do some breath work.
Let's do it.

(23:54):
Are you ready?

Speaker 2 (23:56):
I'm as ready.
I'm so excited for everyonewho's going to do this?

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Can you explain to people who've never heard of
breath work what it is?

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Breath work is beautiful because we have been
giving our breath sustains ourlife, but it also can heal our
life.
It's also the doorway to accesswhat is called the pineal gland
, and when the pineal gland isactivated, it allows us to have
a profound spiritual experience,so powerful that you can see

(24:25):
your ancestors, you can seemaybe your parents that have
passed.
They come back and theyliterally go into your body and
start the healing process.
They remove parts of youenergetically that you've been
holding on to for so long andthe most beautiful thing is it
allows you to just somaticallyrelease a lot of the tears that

(24:49):
we've been holding on to becausewe've been needing to be so
strong for so long.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
Yes, and I know it sounds really woo-woo out there,
but-.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Listen, if you would have told me 10 years ago that
I'd be here talking about this?
No way, no way, no way.
I'm not doing that.
Woo-woo shit.
No.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
