Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to a special
edition of Redesigning Life.
Many of you know I have a newshow called the Sabrina Soto
Show Out and I was able toinvite amazing experts in their
fields just to come in and havea great conversation.
But because it's a show, wehave to edit it down.
Now, these conversations, theywere so good that I wanted to
(00:20):
publish the raw, uneditedversion, and that's what this
episode is.
You're going to hear action andyou may hear a crew in the
background, but I wanted topublish this so you can really
listen to the entire chat.
So here you go, please, on setand action.
Michael Beckwith, I can't, Ican't, I cannot believe you're
(00:45):
in my house.
This is my house.
I know, michael, I don't thinkyou understand that you have
changed my life.
I'm going to get emotional.
You're the reason why I havethis show.
I know that you probably getthis all the time, but you
(01:07):
taught me the key to beinggrateful and you know I think
it's something that I didn'tunderstand how much it would
unlock the universe for me andit changed my entire life.
When I saw you, I watched theSecret before you were on Oprah
(01:31):
and there was something when youstarted speaking on the Secret
that it was as if the universeunlocked possibility for me.
So can you teach or can youtell the viewer?
This whole show is about yourroots and embracing your roots
and embracing the things, theadversities you've come through,
to be where you are.
And even if somebody is goingthrough something, can you
(01:55):
explain to the viewer just yourphilosophy and how gratitude
really is the key to joy.
Thank you, I know that was avery, very long introduction.
I apologize.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
No, it's okay.
And what you said about meassisting to change your life,
that's the music to my heart andmy ears.
That's why I do what I do, andgratitude is the key that
unlocks the door.
It's like it's a vibrationalfrequency, and when one trains
themselves to be grateful, opensthemselves up to even taking
baby themselves to be grateful, opens themselves up to even
taking baby steps to be gratefulfor anything, the vibration of
(02:30):
your body is lifted and we tapinto the field of infinite
possibilities that begin to flowthrough us.
It's as if you know we may haveheard this when you were
growing up you know, if youdon't stop crying, I'm going to
give you something to cry about.
Yes, Well, the universe says ifyou don't stop being grateful,
I'm going to give you somethingto be grateful for.
So what happens is you create avibrational match to unlock
(02:52):
possibilities that you may noteven know exist because they're
outside of your present way ofthinking.
But just being in the field ofgratitude opens up possibilities
, opportunities, possibilitiesare amplified.
You begin to see things thatpreviously may have been there,
but you couldn't see them beforebecause the perceptual windows
(03:14):
were dirty with complaining orworrying, anxiety, anxiousness.
So it's a practice, it's atraining, but it literally
changes the chemicals in yourbody.
You begin to produce tonicchemicals that amplify the
immune system, create acoherence around the brain.
(03:34):
You basically change yourbiology by being grateful, yeah,
and then opportunities open up.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
I start my day with
five things to be grateful for.
I even created a journal thatmy daughter and I do in the
mornings, and it's somethingthat's free, right.
But I think a lot of people whoare listening to this maybe
aren't in a space where maybethey don't like their job or
they don't like their partner,so they say, well, I don't want
to tell the universe thank youfor the thing I'm not happy with
(04:04):
, because then I'm just tellingthe universe that I'm okay with
it.
So can you explain thephilosophy behind that?
Speaker 2 (04:10):
It doesn't work like
that Right, when you shift your
attention to something to begrateful for, there's like a I
call it energetic shape-shifting.
So let's say you have a part ofyour life that you don't like,
you place your attention on thepart of your life you're
grateful for and since we arenot really totally flesh and
blood, we are vibrational beingswe start to shift the vibration
(04:33):
of our being, which begins toalter even the areas in our life
we don't like.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
So if you are just
finding that, okay, I don't like
my job, but I do have a washerand dryer that works Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
My heart is beating,
I'm alive, I exist.
So what happens?
I become available to guidanceand wisdom that can now come to
me intuitively or through directknowing that assists me in
changing those other areas of mylife.
Now, if I continue to justcomplain about those other areas
of my life, I'm in resistanceto them and I amplify it Right.
(05:13):
But if I shift my attention towhat I'm being grateful for at
the same time, beginning tocreate a vision, beginning to
articulate what I do want, theenergy flows in that direction
Right, because everything isvibration.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Can you explain that
to you?
When you and I spoke and Iwanted you to be on the show I
speak about vibrations, but Ithink when people hear
vibrations and universe and allthese words, they either think
two things it's too woo-woo and,you know, it's a little too out
there, a little too hippiegranola, right, right right.
Or it's they think, well, I'mreligious.
(05:47):
Or you know, I can't believe invibration because I believe in,
you know, fill-in-the-blank God.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah Well, today all
of what we're saying is science.
Forty years ago it was woo-woo,but today you can actually get
on a machine and measure thethought forms.
You can actually do biofeedbackand actually measure your
thinking.
And there are some thoughtsthat are vibrating low and
there's some thoughts like love, gratitude, peace, compassion,
(06:14):
kindness.
They vibrate at a much higheroscillation.
So it's not woo-woo anymore,it's now scientific.
So if an individual trainsthemselves to stay in gratitude,
scientific.
So if an individual trainsthemselves to stay in gratitude,
they're actually in a highervibratory field which, like
attracts, like you actuallybring into your life those same
(06:34):
kind of vibrations, those samekind of people, circumstances
and situations that match that.
Yes, it's a vibrational matchRight.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
It feels like magic
when I'm vibing.
And it is like magic to mebecause out of nowhere I'll get
an email, Out of nowhere I'llget a phone call, Out of nowhere
I'll bump into somebody and itis.
I can't explain it, but itworks that way.
But then when I'm in a funk, things start going wrong, Things
start breaking around the house, so it really does work that
(07:04):
way.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
It's like attracts,
like that's the law of
attraction, yes, and then whathappens is the law of attraction
is a linguistic convenience, for actually we have everything
we want within us as spiritualbeings.
For people who absolutelybelieve in God, as you were
saying, we're all spiritualbeings having a human
incarnation.
We arrived on the planet witheverything.
(07:26):
We are fully franchisedexpressions of the infinite, but
we have to unpack it.
So with that awareness, when webegin to activate the law of
attraction, we begin to feelgratitude, thanksgiving,
appreciation, we start toactually go into what I call the
law of resonance.
We start to resonate with thefeeling that I already have
(07:50):
something, and then that goesinto radiation.
We start to radiate thatfeeling.
And then what happens afterthat?
It starts to show up, itcondenses itself.
We call it manifestation, itmanifests.
The invisible becomes visible.
So you go from attraction toresonance, to radiance
(08:11):
manifestation.
So people have to train theirmind and heart to stay in the
gratitude vibration.
Sometimes it's hard, it is.
So there's like three levels ofgratitude Find something to be
grateful for, you know.
And then there's being gratefulfor even the challenges,
because the challenges carryseeds of activating potential.
(08:35):
Can you explain that a littlebit more?
There are gifts within us,there are powers within us.
There's intelligence within us,but sometimes a challenge
coaxes it out of us, right?
You know, we don't try to runaway from challenges.
We say that challenges we learnhow to navigate challenges, so
it activates our potential.
(08:56):
A challenge is a gift in workclothes.
And then, as so as we begin tolook at life, challenge is a
gift in work clothes.
Right, it's coming to teach ussomething, there's a lesson in
there.
And then the third level ofgratitude one is being grateful
for something.
Two is being grateful for thechallenge Difficult.
Thirdly, you start to grow intoan awareness where you're just
(09:19):
grateful for nothing, right, youjust have an attitude of
gratitude.
And then what happens?
The universal presence fillsthat up with more and more to be
grateful for.
Yep no-transcript.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
I had my whole family
.
We went through a really hardfinancial time At that time.
I was a teenager and I feltlike my life fell apart.
Yes, it was awful, but Iwouldn't be where I am now had
it not been for that challenge.
I was in my early 20s and I wasin a job that most people would
(09:59):
say is successful.
I was making good money, but Iwas miserable.
I was miserable and I watchedthe Secret A friend had
introduced me.
I had to pay $4.95 to downloadit because it wasn't the book
yet, it was just on the computer.
And that night, after watchingthe Secret, I fell asleep.
I woke up for some weird reason, at 4 o'clock in the morning.
I couldn't go back to sleep, soI wanted to be on TV doing
something creative.
(10:20):
I didn't know what thatopportunity would be and I went
on Craigslist and there was ajob posting.
It didn't say what it was for,but they were looking for
someone who had TV credit andwas a designer.
I threw in my resume.
That was my first HGTV show.
Had I not woken up at 4 o'clockin the morning, had I not
watched the Secret the nightbefore, had I not sent that
(10:40):
email, my life wouldn't be whereI am now.
And so that goes to show you.
I didn't have connections inHollywood, I didn't have an
agent, I didn't have anything.
But because what happened was Iwatched it and I remember your
face and, knowing that anythingis possible, I started going
well, it's going to come to me.
I just knew it.
(11:00):
And I started training for ajob I didn't even have yet.
So can you explain that?
Speaker 2 (11:05):
You said I knew it.
Yes, I knew it.
So you were already in thefeeling of it happening before
it manifested.
That's what the whole teachingis about.
It is done unto you as youbelieve.
Now we would say it is doneunto you as you feel.
So you felt your way into thatdynamic and it had to show up.
Four o'clock is a good time towake up, really.
(11:26):
That's when I wake up everySunday.
I wake up at four.
Why?
Because I have to get ready togo speak at Agape.
Yes, so you know four o'clockis really.
There's no psychic energy inthe air, there's no debris,
there's no mental debris, because most people are sleeping
.
So you wake up at four.
There's a clarity.
So you woke up at four.
Your intuition guided you tolook on Craigslist, for that's a
(11:51):
weird place to look it was.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
You can get free
sofas and jobs on television,
your career got jump-started.
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
But it was your
intuition and your direct
knowing from the feeling tonethat it's happening.
And that's where we have tohave people live.
We have to live in the feelingtone that it's happening.
It's happening right now andthen it unfolds.
Now that's a training.
People have to actually monitortheir thought, monitor their
conversation.
What's coming out of your mouth, you know until you're actually
(12:22):
sitting in the feeling ofgratitude.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
You brought up agape,
you invited me and the
experience I think was just Ican't explain it the vibration
that was in that center, yourteachings, it was something I
think a lot of people, everyone, should experience.
But can you explain to somebodywho's watching, like, how did
you get started?
How did you start the AgapeCenter?
Speaker 2 (12:47):
Agape Center is
celebrating its 38th year.
I'm the founder, so that's kindof a long story, but anyway, I
had to give up my resistance tostarting a spiritual community.
You know, I had a very intimaterelationship with the presence
I call it the presence, that'snever an absence and so I was a
(13:09):
spiritual therapist, you know.
I worked with people five toeight people every single day,
six days a week, and I waspulled to start a community.
I didn't want to, I wasn'ttrying to be a public person,
but eventually I had to yield tothat calling.
Why?
Speaker 1 (13:24):
didn't you want to be
a public person?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
I was kind of shy.
You know I liked the smallgroups.
You know I had a destiny callto speak and I went to speak one
time and it was natural itflowed for me.
But you know, when you'regetting ready to start a whole
spiritual community, people sayyou know, when you're dying,
(13:46):
your whole life flats in frontof you.
Well, that's what happened tome when I started a community.
It was like my whole life, whatam I doing?
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
But eventually I
couldn't say no to the inner
calling.
My whole life, what am I doing?
But eventually I couldn't sayno to the inner calling, and so
it's one of the most inclusivespiritual communities in the
world, in the United States.
Everybody's there, as you saw.
Everyone's there.
All religions, cultures, ethnicities are all in there,
celebrating the divine presencethat's within all of us, called
(14:16):
by millions of names, and soit's a wonderful place for
regeneration, healing, renewal,inspiration celebration right
there.
It's beautiful.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
If somebody's
watching this and they feel sort
of stuck in a rut, where do youthink what's the easiest way to
start transformation?
Speaker 2 (14:35):
where do you think
what's the easiest way to start
transformation?
There's so many techniques.
What you can do is when you goto sleep at night, right before
you go to sleep, you can justwrite down what it is that you
really want in life.
Not ego desires, but what doyou want your life to look like?
Just write it down.
(14:56):
You know, I like to have a lifein which there's a tremendous
amount of peace, prosperity,health.
You know, write it down.
You can even be a little bitmore specific and then, right
before you fall asleep, you readthat you feel that it's
happening.
What does that feel like?
Then you go to sleep.
That starts to work on yoursubconscious mind.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
While you're sleeping
.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
While you're sleeping
.
Then, when you wake up, letthat be the first thing you read
.
Don't jump on social media, don't look on your phone.
Read it.
You're still sleepy.
Now it's called the hypnagogicstate You're in between sleep
and awake, so your mind can beprogrammed better.
You just read it, you feel thatit's happening and you go on
(15:37):
about your day finding somethingto be grateful for.
That's one spiritual hack, soto speak, that will help
jumpstart you, changing yoursubconscious tendencies.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
I know that hack of
like the feeling is where the
magic happens and the way that Iunderstand it.
Please tell me if I'm wrong, like correct me if I'm wrong.
When I want to manifestsomething, whether it's a job or
a relationship, I pretend thatit's happening.
I close my eyes and I feel asif it's happening and I try to
(16:09):
hold that for 17 seconds and Idon't know where I made that up.
I think I read that somewhere, but that vibration goes out into
the universe and attracts thatsituation towards me.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Is that true?
We live in a return to cinderuniverse.
Tell me about that Whatever yousend out comes back Like karma.
Yeah, so 17,.
One to seven is eight, which isa number of manifestation.
So you're actually feeling thatit's happening and that is the
key.
You're doing it Perfectly.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
That's it.
And I tell my daughter when Iwas trying to explain to her the
law of attraction I mean she'sso young but I said, imagine
that you have angels up inheaven and they don't know.
No, and yes, they only knowwhat you're thinking about and
when you're thinking about itthey want to bring you more of
that.
So if you're thinking about badthings, they don't know that
it's good or bad, they justbring you more.
(16:59):
So try thinking of the goodthings constantly so that you
get more of the things you want.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
You are describing
the subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind does nothave a no or yes.
It only knows what you'reinterested in.
So if you're interested in love, if you're interested in beauty
, peace, abundance, wellness,well-being, then that becomes a
part of your personal law.
Everyone has a personal law.
There's a law of the universe, but we all have our personal use
(17:25):
of that law.
Most people are using itunconsciously.
They've been programmed byenvironment, circumstances,
conditions and situations.
But what you're teaching yourdaughter is to have a personal
relationship with the law byconstantly placing her attention
on what she wants to experience, not what she doesn't want to
experience.
Right, because I'll do that.
(17:46):
But but yeah, but it gets.
You get what you're interestedin.
So if you're constantlythinking about what you don't
want, the universe doesn't knowyou don't want that, right.
It just knows you're thinkingabout it, right so they're like
sure we'll give you more.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Yeah, that's what
you're thinking about, what you
don't want.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
The universe doesn't
know you don't want that, right?
It just knows you're thinkingabout it, right?
So they're like sure, we'llgive you more.
Yeah, that's what you'rethinking about.
Yes, so you have to shift andbecome interested in beauty,
interested in love, interestedin abundance, interested in joy,
interested in kindness, interested in service, and then
that begins to multiply, magnifyin your life.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Yes, Multiply magnify
in your life.
Yes.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
What are your daily
practices?
What does Michael Beckwith do?
I wake up and I generally standand I'm grateful, I bow and
surrender to life.
Then I ask for the power tohandle every assignment that
comes to me.
Today there's my assignment onmy to-do list and then there's
always things that come thataren't on my to-do list.
(18:37):
Somebody calls I need some help, whatever the case may be, so I
ask for that assignment.
I go into the kitchen, I drinksome warm water with minerals
and lemon at the beginning, Imake a special tea.
I go to the gym, I work out, Icome home, I make my smoothie,
drink my smoothie, meditate andthen get ready to go into the
(19:00):
office.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
I saw that you
brought me a smoothie.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Yeah, we did.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
So can you tell me
about this?
Speaker 2 (19:05):
This is a miracle,
really.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Okay, tell me.
People have always asked me youknow, what do you do?
You have a lot of energy, whatdo you drink, what do you eat,
et cetera, and I have certainingredients that I would make my
smoothie with.
So one day I was in Costa Ricaand I'm writing down I want to
design my own green drink.
And I end up helping this man'swife who was going through some
(19:28):
spiritual changes.
So I finished working with her, sitting down, writing, and he
says what are you doing?
I said I'm writing down thisgreen drink I want to develop
and I start to describe what Iwanted.
And I went ashwagandha and Iwent all the super grains, et
cetera, et cetera.
And he says I'll do it for you.
I said you'll do what.
He said I own Neutral Rise.
He said you've helped my wife.
(19:50):
You tell me the ingredients.
We'll have our chemists andbiologists work on it.
So they took what I wanted andcreated this green drink.
So what would have taken me afew years to put together
happened inside of a year.
Do?
Speaker 1 (20:04):
you see what this?
Speaker 2 (20:05):
is.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Well, of course,
you're the master of it, so it
happened Do you see it andyou're like yeah, I know, I am
the one who teaches this.
Speaker 2 (20:12):
So before a year was
out, this was created.
This superfood greens drink.
It's called Adaptazin AdaptazinFrom NutriRise.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
And what do you mix
it with?
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Water.
Well, this particular one isalmond milk that I made myself.
Of course, you did Blueberries, avocado, the superfood, greens
and some protein powder.
Please, it's a basic one.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
So this is how you
start your day.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Oh Wow, does it taste
good.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
That's delicious.
Yeah, that tastes like avanilla milkshake.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
It's magnificent, but
it has all of your minimum
daily needs for your body dimple.
That's a meal.
This is a meal.
My daughter would love this too.
Yeah, the teenagers love itbecause they don't have to hold
their nose to drink it.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Yeah, oh, my gosh
Michael, that is so good so.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
I don't leave the
house without drinking that.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
I'm not going to
either.
No wonder you're glowing,michael.
Leave the house withoutdrinking.
That I'm not going to either.
No wonder you're glowing.
Michael, I cannot thank youenough.
I really.
I started off telling you howI'm so grateful for you.
I cannot believe.
I don't know if you rememberthe first time I saw you, I was
on a panel and you walked in theroom and I audibly gasped Like
I could not believe I was inyour presence.
So the fact that you're sittinghere in my house am I dreaming?
Speaker 2 (21:31):
You're dreaming
yourself awake.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
I feel like I am
dreaming right now.
This is beautiful, I cannotthank you enough for how I'm
going to cry again, how you'vechanged my life and how I knew
you before I had my daughter andbecause of you I've created
this life for me and herBeautiful, and you've allowed me
the.
(21:53):
You've given me the strength toknow that I am responsible for
my own life.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
And that I have the
anything is possible.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
Yes, yes,
responsibility means the ability
to respond rather than react, Iknow so you have now moved into
the space of responding to lifefrom the feeling tone of
gratitude and thankfulness andappreciation.
So then, life brings that rightback to you in ways beyond your
wildest imagination.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
I'm beyond grateful
for you.
I'm beyond grateful for yourtime.
I cannot thank you enough.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Cheers.
Thank you for the invitation.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Cheers.
You've inspired me.
You've inspired me to createthis life, to create this show.
I hope that you're alsoinspired at home to make the
small changes, to redesign yourlife too.
You're the best.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
We're becoming our
inner architect for our own
design.
Designer jeans.
I love that Spiritual designerjeans.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
There you go.
