Quante volte, invece, ti sei rifugiato/a solo nella vita interiore?
Parlare di vita interiore e di vita esteriore significa, innanzitutto, distinguere tra la vita vera, vissuta nel presente, e la vita mentale, che si muove tra passato e futuro.
Il presente è l’unico spazio reale.
Il passato è una ricostruzione: un ricordo diventa un racconto, un film interiore più o meno fedele a ciò che è accaduto.
Anche il futuro appartiene alla mente, poiché non è altro che immaginazione o previsione.
Ritrovare il gusto di vivere significa tornare in contatto con sé, con la propria radice interiore. La maggior parte delle persone vive proiettata all’esterno. Ma quando l’esterno prende il sopravvento, nasce l’ansia: tentiamo di controllare ciò che accadrà e, nel farlo, alimentiamo il caos interiore, perdendo il legame con la nostra essenza.
È importante riconoscere che non siamo i nostri pensieri, né i nostri ricordi. Siamo la coscienza che osserva quei pensieri, la presenza silenziosa dietro di essi.
La vita interiore consiste proprio nel contatto con questa presenza, con la coscienza dietro la mente. Tuttavia, questo può far paura all’ego, che percepisce in ciò una minaccia alla propria esistenza. Nella vita esteriore entriamo facilmente in un circolo vizioso:
- partiamo dalla paura di non essere riconosciuti,
- questa paura si trasforma in timore di non avere abbastanza competenze, sicurezza o amore,
- da lì nasce la lotta per ottenere ciò che crediamo mancarci,
- quando otteniamo ciò che volevamo, sorge la paura di perderlo.
Ci perdiamo, ci sentiamo vuoti senza stimoli esterni.
Ritornare al vero gusto della vita significa riscoprire un sapore profondo anche nelle difficoltà. Perché, in fondo, ciò che conta non è tanto ciò che facciamo, ma la capacità di respirare, di tornare presenti a noi stessi e di essere felici.
