SPEAKER_00 (00:01):
We're on good country.
Let's ride.
Remember that?
Is he still doing that?
It's Wednesday.
It's a live chat.
It's John Deere Classic Week.
BMW International Open.
Really, whatever you want.

(00:22):
Last week, before we go toScotland, we being figuratively,
I'm not going to Scotland unlesssomebody wants to send me there,
but I'm, I'm not going, but theboys are going for the Scottish
open next week.
And then of course the open atport rush the week after.
So get ready to adjust the sleepschedule, get ready for a little
bit of coffee golf, get readyfor all that fun stuff and get
ready for the next hour in whichthis time is yours.

(00:44):
Questions, concerns, Get them inthe chat right now.
I'll go through as many as I canover the course of the next hour
or so.
And we will start where wealways start.
That is with the weather and itis with the one and done
selection rate so that ifanybody comes in after the first
five minutes we can just directthem straight back to the

(01:07):
beginning of the show and wedon't have to cover the same
questions numerous times so herewe go let's ride the weather
forecast for sylvis is uh hothumid little chance of rain
until sunday and in terms of aweather edge Not one in
particular.

(01:27):
So low 90s on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The winds are a little bitworse.
And I say a little bit basicallyfrom 9 miles an hour to 11 miles
an hour on Friday.
But it is mostly throughoutFriday.
There might be two hours in themorning on Friday morning where
it is a touch better.

(01:48):
Probably not worth it.
firing off a bunch of stacks.
If this, if this forecast staysthe same, it's going to be
scoring conditions.
These guys are likely going totake it apart over the course of
the first two days.
Saturday could be a little bitmore troublesome.
Um, winds getting up into the, into the teens and, and you
know, 15 miles an hour ofsustained winds.

(02:09):
That's, Pretty impactful on agolf ball.
And then Sunday will cool off alittle bit, but that's when
there is some rain in theforecast.
Now we are days away from that.
That's probably going to change15 times between now or then.
But for right now, for ourpurposes on this Wednesday
afternoon, probably not much ofa weather stack, assuming things
stay just as they do.

(02:30):
One and done selection rates.
And I'm trying to Make sure Isay selection rates because this
is not really projectedownership.
This is about as good of, quote, projected ownership as you could
get because these really are thesite-wide selection rates on
officefootballpool.com.
Denny McCarthy, 20% in what?

(02:53):
Three million entries thatOffice Football Pool has?
Ben Griffin, 17%.
Jason Day, 13%.
And then a gap.
Those are the only three golfersover...
uh, 9% JT posting at a MichaelThor Bjornson at seven, Chris,
Chris Kirk at seven, Jake Knappat five, Lucas Glover at four,
nobody else above 3%.
So a lot of people use BenGriffin last week, 20 to 30%,

(03:15):
depending on the league that youwere in.
A lot of people will use DennyMcCarthy this week.
And those that did not use BenGriffin will use him this week.
Jason day kind of sits in thereby himself.
Uh, nothing to agree just hereat the top of the board.
We don't have a 30% selectedplayer.
Um, There's a lot ofopportunities.
I'm sure we'll talk about this.
The board is just wide open.

(03:35):
I wrote about this just beforewe even move on any further.
I wrote about this in mynewsletter for this week.
This is historically wide open.
I've been collecting the oddsfor about seven years or so.
This is the most golfers between25 and 35 to 1.

(03:56):
in a single event.
There was 14 of them when Iwrote about this that I've
tracked.
So the only time before that was2024 in Mayakoba.
There were 18 golfers in thatclosing odd price range.
And I think that is imperativeto know because a lot of the
comments that I'm probably goingto make today are going to be

(04:18):
guys that are very, very closeto one another.
You know, If there are 14 guysthat have very similar odds,
what else can we look at?
Can we look at their ownership?
Can we look at their selectionrates?
Can you just pick the guy thatyou like more, right?
We're going to be splittinghairs a lot.
So I think it is reallyinstructive to realize how tight
this field is based on a LasVegas odds perspective,

(04:40):
especially when you're lookingat the one and done selection
rates and whatever else we moveforward with.
So you're probably going to hearme say that quite a bit over the
course of the show.
I want to remind you all thatright now, DraftKings is giving

All right, let's get to some ofthese questions here.
Rue Bright says, yo, Rick,Putnam is showing up all over
the place.
Can he win?
I do not believe so.
So I will roll against AndrewPutnam here.
My apologies if he wins.

(05:44):
Good on you.
This is my website,RickRundGood.com.
I'm in dark mode.
I'm feeling dark mode this week.
Let's get after it.
Not only statistically, but theeye test for Andrew Putnam last
week was pretty bad.
And I realized that he finishedT8.
So we were on the verge ofhaving a golfer lose.

(06:05):
So actually, I will tell youthis.
In the last five years, he's theonly golfer to lose as many
strokes as he did ball strikingand still finish inside the top
10 of the golf tournament.
And it's exactly similar to whathe did at the Canadian Open.
This is being held together bythe need to gain 10 strokes in

(06:26):
the short game categories.
The need for that.
That only lasts so long.
We've seen this time and timeagain.
If he is going to drive it, likehe is, and if he is going to hit
his second shots, which I'lltell you what, a lot of wipey
right misses.
The stats bear out not a goodball striking week.
The eye test was like a lot ofwipey left to right stuff that

(06:48):
was going way too much left toright, way more than he intended
on his lines.
This is coming to an end, is theway that this stat profile
looks.
What was the final number onlosses to Mina?
So if you guys missed this onthe second cup pod yesterday,
it's a More of a professionalgolf podcast that we've rebooted
from CBS.
Now it's an independent project.

(07:10):
We set the line that Arminacould name, I think it was 68
and a half, just professionalgolfers.
Just named them.
Off the top of her head, nocheating, no looking it up.
Sit down, write it down on apiece of paper.
I set the line at 68 and a half.
She crushed the over.
The final number was 111, whichmakes me now think that if I
were to do it, I think the lineshould be set around 500.

(07:33):
I mean, once you get past, they're going to be very, very
random, but I think I couldprobably 5X her.
And then I think the stretchgoal would be like 800, and I
think the insane number would be1,000.
I don't know if I could...
If I just sat down for eighthours and did it, I don't know
how long I could go, but I think500 is a really, really good
number.

(07:54):
So, yeah, she did a good job.
Hey, Rick, can you please take alook at the best putters on
bentgrass?
Yeah, so...
A couple different ways we coulddo this.
I'm going to go to the HolyGrail.
I don't know what time frameyou're looking at, but let's
just go since the start of 2023.
We'll go on pure bent grass.
You could also do bent boamixes, and we'll sort by strokes

(08:15):
game putting, and we'll findguys with a decent number of
starts.
No surprise, Denny McCarthy'snumber one, 20 starts.
He's gaining 0.86 strokes perround.
Vince Whaley, 14 starts, 0.71.
Matt McCarty, only five.
measured starts during thattimeframe, 0.7, Andrew Putnam,
Chandler Phillips, PearsonCootie, Jacob Bridgman, Taylor
Montgomery, the, and KevinKisner are the other ones that

(08:36):
gain a half a stroke per round.
If you look at it from like asalary perspective, actually all
the four most expensive golfersare all very good putters on, on
bent grass.
And then there are some losersbefore you get to sung JM and
Luke clan.
So have at it.
Enjoy John.
Chris says, Hey Rick, top 10%.
My one and done pick has to beBen Griffin, right?

(08:59):
Yes, it does.
And I've, I've done the samething.
So I'll ride with you there justto kind of put into perspective.
So I don't have to have the BenGriffin conversation all the
time.
I'm happy to have it once indepth.
He's been phenomenal.
Another complete gain inDetroit.
Now, one, two, three, four, fivecomplete gains in his last six.
And the only place that he lostwas, in that stretch was around

(09:23):
the green at the Travelers.
He's been awesome.
I've said it a thousand times.
Every question has beenanswered.
There is no reason to thinkthis...
It's obviously going to stop atsome point, but there's no
reason to think it's going tostop anytime soon.
One start here, T5.
I've rolled him out in just avariety of formats.
I've bet him at 16 to 1.

(09:44):
I'm playing him a lot for DFSpurposes.
I am...
using him in a lot ofone-and-done scenarios, just
like tears on splash, like justa lot of Ben Griffin, and we'll
roll with that.
Lawrence or champ last man in?
I'm a Lawrence guy.
Ventura or Springer?
I'm a Ventura guy.

(10:04):
How do you feel about AdamShank?
I know he missed a lot of cutslately, but he seems to be the
ultimate boomer bust here withcourse history.
So I would say I probably don'tfeel that good about Adam Shank,
but sometimes you find, youknow, a Chris Kirk who...
starts to pop and plays well.
Let's see what we've got here.
We have not seen really anythinggood from Adam shank since the

(10:28):
Byron Nelson.
And before that Sony.
So two, two good starts thisyear, very far apart.
A lot of miscuts.
The history here must be reallygood for, for this to pop up.
Yeah, it is three top sixfinishes in his last five.
Um, Those were really good teeto green weeks.

(10:49):
He's not had a lot of good teeto green weeks.
The approach plays bad.
The form.
He's not only just missing cuts.
He's kind of missing cuts prettybadly.
So no, that's a bridge too farfor me.
I'm 15th out of 150.
The one and done.
Should I use Griff Griffins thisweek or at the Wyndham when no
one else has him left?

(11:10):
Use him now.
Cause even if, even if half thepeople above you use him, you
still have a chance to move up.
Um, and you don't have Dennyavailable.
So that is, I think you have toplay Griff.
Does Tom Kim have to join themilitary?

(11:31):
What a strange question.
And it's a reasonable questionconsidering that's how strange
golf can be.
I don't think so, Jordan.
Um, Somebody will have this andI'm going off the top of my
head.
So for people who don'tunderstand, South Korea has a
mandatory military service thathas to be fulfilled by the time

(11:51):
you are X years old.
I cannot remember what thatnumber is.
I want to say it's 28 years old,might be 29, might be 32.
I don't know what it is, butit's like a two year mandatory
military service.
You can get out of it, however,by doing a couple of things,
mostly like meddling at Olympicsor at Asian games or at Pan

(12:14):
American games, I think is alsoincluded.
I want to say somebody got outof this recently.
Was it Sungjae and Siwoo?
I think they teamed up and wonthe Asian games or won the Pan
American.
I don't know off the top of myhead.
I can't remember if it was TomKim or not.

(12:35):
I want to say it was Sungjae andSiwoo, but someone, someone can
find that out for me, but it'snot a ridiculous question, but
he would still probably have atleast five or six more years
until he has to start fulfillingthat.
Hey Rick, are you bullish onDanny McCarthy's chances this
week?
Yes.
Um, quite.
So the good thing is, sorryabout that.

(12:56):
Um, This is not a long golfcourse.
Denny McCarthy is obviouslybetter on shorter golf courses.
He is one of the best putters inthe world.
We're starting to see upticks inhis approach play, and he has
just been really, really goodhere.
If you start looking at the last12 rounds at TPC Deer Run,
you're probably not going tofind anybody who has a better

(13:17):
history here than Denny.
T6, T6, T7, where he's gainedstrokes in all three of those
off the tee.
He has gained strokes off thetee here in four out of his last
five.
He's obviously putted very well.
So I think this is a golf coursethat he has been able to outpace
his ball striking at because itsuits him better.
And then he's just a world-classputter on every single surface.

(13:37):
Pin loving the second cut.
Thank you.
Where would the crew finish thisweek if you played best ball?
Ooh, best ball or scramble?
If we got to scramble...
We would TPC deer run.
If we got to scramble, we couldshoot.
Okay.
So we scrambled at not all fourof us, but are not, you know, it

(13:58):
was me, Greg Musso and Michaelbreed.
We scrambled at TPC riverHighlands to a 58.
Now that's a shorter golfcourse.
And we played it shorter.
Uh, we could probably shoot 62or 63 is every day.
If we scramble, uh, We couldprobably win the golf

(14:18):
tournament.
I think we could win the golftournament if we scrambled.
If we had to play best ball withno pops, we'd probably shoot
like 14 or 15 under, which wouldnot be good enough to win the
golf tournament.
I found, I found Chan Kim in thedeep dive, but then heard you
mentioned him on the second cut.
He's going to win now.
Yeah.
I, Greg was a lot more bullishon him than I am.

(14:40):
You know, the, the, the, theproblem, or I guess the good
news is for Chan Kim is thathe's$7,000 and the bottom of the
range is, is really bad or thebottom of the board is really
bad.
So Chan Kim has played like onegood tournament.
in the last couple of months.
It just happened to be last weekin Detroit.
And it was a complete gain, really good stat profile, four
strokes from Tito Green, addedanother three and a half with

(15:01):
the putter.
We have not seen him play wellbefore that since Putakata.
I was up at two o'clock thismorning.
Sorry, I could not go back tobed.
I don't know why I can't stopyawning.
I'm very cozy right now.
That's why.
But T7, T5 at the Valero and inPunta Cana, and then he missed
like five straight cuts.
So I think the Greggers was inon Chan because of the known

(15:27):
upside and just trying to catchhim on the way up.
He was more bullish on Chan thanI am.
But from a perspective of howbad the bottom of the board is,
I'm in on that.
Hey, Rick, can you tell me whatyou've done to Mike Cavalunas
and the Cutline podcast?
was a previous go-to of mine.

(15:49):
He produced funny andinformative content.
I've done nothing with him.
I don't know.
I don't have a professionalrelationship with Mike at this
time.
I like Mike a lot.
He's a great dude.
I have nothing to do with him.
He can do anything he wants.
I don't know what happened tohis podcast.
That's his podcast.
It's not my podcast.

(16:09):
So I have no idea.
I hope he's doing it.
I hope Mike's doing great.
He's a good dude.
Back in the day, we hadStricker, Zach Johnson that
dominated around that course.
Let's find today's candidate.
So the best candidate to go on amultiple year run?
How about...

(16:36):
I mean, I guess it's Denny.
He already has three top sevensin a row.
And he's going to be one of thefavorites to win this week.
So I guess it's their best fourplayer cut line bet.
Any odds?
All right.
I looked, I saw this questionbeforehand, so I went and just
clicked some names.
Ben Griffin, Chris Goddard, MarkHubbard, Keith Mitchell.

(16:58):
Plus 298.
Good luck.
Wow.
You're in the top 20 of the Rickrun.
Good one and done.
Still have Ben Griffin.
Yeah, you should play him.
What criteria do you use todetermine whether a bobblehead
is worth your time and money?

(17:23):
A younger me and the guy that Ifight against has no criteria.
He wants them all.
I want them all.
I want the ones that I have noaffiliation with.
Even at this point, I'venarrowed it down to unique, and
cool, and it has to kind ofcross a couple of items off for

(17:47):
me.
I saw the Fernando Tatisbobblehead where he's spinning
the bat, and I was like, wow, that's cool and unique, but I
have no affiliation to FernandoTatis or the Padres.
I don't care about them.
That's a pass, as much as Iwanted it.
The ones the Yankees do with theSeinfeld crossovers I think are

(18:10):
amazing, and I want them all, especially the one.
So I have it behind me.
It's right.
It's actually right here.
If you can see it, it's Georgepulling the golf ball out of the
whales blow hole.
So that's like a perfect one.
And then once they give away agolf tournaments for winners.
So like Nick Taylor has abobblehead.
Um, I've got the cam Davis onecoming.

(18:31):
Uh, those are great too, butlike that can be a slippery
slope too.
Like, do I need a Tony Finaurocket classic one?
Kind of, but kind of not.
Do I need all the winners fromthe previous John Deers?
Probably don't need like a BrianHarmon one.
There's like some weird ones outthere.
There's like a Rory McIlroy SanFrancisco Giants one when he
threw out the first pitch.
I kind of want that one, but Iam trying not to.

(18:54):
I'm trying not to.
It will become a problem.
Kevin, your thoughts.
Is Jaeger or M better?
Okay.
The Sung Jae Im stuff is verybad, and I'm probably not
touching it until it turnsaround.
Yeah.
Yeah.

(19:27):
He's usually a pretty good ballstriker, but I know he hasn't
been as hot recently, but hefinished third at the Canadian
Open and he hit it better at TPCRiver Highlands.
But we're getting a little bitof improved putting.
We just have to marry thosethings together.
And then he's got two goodstarts here.
So of those that you mentioned,Kevin Yu is the guy.
50th out of 401 and done.
McCarthy or Goddard up or aflyer on Lawrence?

(19:51):
You probably can't playMcCarthy.
So you're in the top eighth.
20% of the field is going to usehim, but probably half the
people ahead of you are going touse him.
It's tight.
It's tight on McCarthy.
I wouldn't mind if you pickedanybody else, like Thor
Bjornsson or Jason Day, quitehonestly, or literally anybody

(20:12):
else.
I would prefer maybe notMcCarthy.
It's close.
Thoughts on Coivin and Ben Jamesin this weaker field?
A couple of M's, right?
Coivin out of Auburn, Ben Jamesout of Virginia?
Um...
they haven't done as much as Iwould like, but I think that
there is precedent for this golfcourse to not need.

(20:33):
Uh, why can't I find Corbin?
How do I spell his name?
Jackson quick.
Oops.
Jackson.
Okay.
Um, You know, there's precedentfor young guys to not need
experience at TPC deer run.

(20:55):
Is experience good?
Would I rather have like LucasGlover's history?
Sure.
Do you need it?
No, there's no secrets here.
Just go out and execute the golfshots.
And a lot of these guys canexecute the golf shots.
Jackson Quiven has not been thatgood.
Ben James, I don't think hasbeen that good either.
So I haven't been here asBenjamin.

(21:16):
But I'll double check.
And yes, University of Virginia.
This is a little bit better.
9.8 strokes from T degree forBen James at the Valero for
gained at Oakmont.
Really, really bad putter.
It's probably not played thisgolf tournament before.
He has not.
Yeah, I mean, I don't I'mprobably not getting to either
one of these two, but I think Iwould prefer James.
Do you like Lee Hodges thisweek?

(21:38):
You know, everybody was veryexcited about Lee Hodges last
week, and I was kind of iffy.
Got off to a really hot startand then faded on the weekend.
I accept the fact that he isputting together a really good
profile.
I just kind of hate the way hehas been fading on the weekend,
right?
I mean, it's now what?
Three in a row where he's gotthree good finishes, but plays
well in the opening round, thenstruggles over the final three.

(22:00):
Plays well in the first three, then struggles on Sunday.
Plays well in the first two, then struggles on the weekend.
Maybe he's just better than thefirst round leader.
This is a super chat, soHimichu, thank you.
This is appreciated, neverrequired.
Jake Knapp, Kevin, you or DennyMcCarthy?
It's probably McCarthy, thenKnapp, then you.
It's pretty close.
I'm pretty bullish on Knapp.

(22:20):
I think he's just got immense...
upside in talent?
Immense.
And you want to get him when thegoing is good, and that's what
he's got right now.
And yeah, I like Knapp, but Ithink that Denny is probably a
touch safer here.
Does Ali have any favoritetreats to consume while you're
podcasting?
Okay.

(22:41):
You have a Yorkie.
So Ali is a Yorkie dachshund.
So Jake has a Yorkie named Ali.
That's funny.
You know what?
We just got them.
They're...
Pumpkin hamburger.
They're like little pumpkinthings, but they're flat like
hamburger patties.
He goes nuts over this.
Absolutely goes nuts over this.

(23:02):
Can we do a deep dive on JacksonSuber, the other young Jackson
in this field?
Let's ride.
Let's do it.
Jackson Suber.
So he's a pro now, right?
Three point.
Yeah, this is much better.
This to me looks like a guy whois finding his...

(23:23):
who is finding his place on thePGA Tour.
Had a good Corn Fairy Tour lastyear, off to a little bit of a
rocky start in 2025.
Now getting to play against someweaker fields and putting up
better results and the statprofiles are coming along.
Yeah, this is a lot better.
$7,000, I think it's well worthit.
You said you didn't like ZachJohnson.

(23:43):
Is there a reason?
I heard he always plays wellhere.
Yeah, he just is annoying and hestinks.
I don't know.
If you want to just ride...
Zach Johnson's like, and it iselite course history.
Don't get me wrong, but like themost elite of it was from 2009
to 2018.
He's old and it's okay.

(24:07):
Nearly 50.
He's going to dominate thechampions tour.
Is he going to dominate theseguys?
I doubt it.
Um, played well at the masters.
Okay.
History, history and experiencegoes a long way there.
Outside of that, it hasn't beenall that good.
So I'm not going to go to battlewith Zach Johnson because of
what he did 15 years ago.

(24:31):
He's going to crush.
Second Cut is the best.
Everyone should support thisventure.
I appreciate that.
Yeah.
So we took it back from CBS orwhatever.
They canceled it.
They retired it.
And we said, screw it.
We'll do it ourselves.
We're not ready to give it upyet.
We did 1,500 episodes.
We did it for 10 years.
Well, it was around for 10years.
I did it for six.

(24:51):
We weren't ready to give it up.
So we're going to do itindependently.
If you know any sponsors whowant to get involved, we're
growing it.
The guys are working for free.
I don't know how much longer Ican get them to do that.
We're working hard on that.
And Mina's done a great jobproducing it.
We've got some potential homesfor it.
But yeah, we'll see.

(25:11):
I'm excited about it.
Can you do a deep dive onPearson Cootie?
Yeah.
So all of his stuff has been on,not all of it.
I shouldn't say that, but it'sbeen corn fairy tour stuff and
he's been crushing it.
So last time we saw him on thePGA tour was the Charles Schwab
challenge.
6.4 strokes gained there.
He finished T16.
All of his next four resultshave been better than that.

(25:32):
And they're all corn fairystuff.
So T12 runner up third T7.
This is a very good ad for Rickrun.
Good.com.
Obviously, because I've got notonly all the PGA tour stuff, but
corn fairy senior tour live andtheir strokes gained.
DP roll tour and their strokesgained Asian tour as well.
Those are the six tours that Icover right now.
Hopefully more in the works.
I want to, I'm not going to saythat, but I hopefully more in

(25:55):
the works.
So yeah, this is really good.
You just have to kind of knockthem down a little bit and say,
okay, obviously those four cornfairy tour results are not
equivalent to PGA tour resultsand that's okay, but he's still
playing a lot of really goodgolf right now.
Outlooks for Putnam to me, notstrong.
Bazaydenhut or Kanaya?

(26:16):
Okay, let's probably not Takumi, but let me just take a quick
peek, and then I'll pull upBazaydenhut's profile.
I love Takumi Kanaya.
This is not a very good-lookingprofile, especially on a week
that you're going to have tomake a lot of birdies.
And the Bazaydenhut one, if Iremember correctly, I think he's
cooled off a touch, but let'sjust look.
I'll give him the benefit of thedoubt here.

(26:37):
Yeah.
T12 at Oakmont was really goodconsidering the fact that he
lost two and a half strokes offthe tee.
He's probably not going to losetwo and a half strokes off the
tee here, although he did losethree off the tee at Travelers.
That could have been a couple ofwater balls, though.
Yeah, so that's okay.
So he's played here twice.
2023, 2022, he gained strokesoff the tee both of those years,
which I think is important and, again, instructive because he

(27:01):
often loses strokes off the teebecause he's not a very good
driver of the ball.
But this place, you can get awaywith kind of a lot.
If you want to club down, youcan club down.
If you want to, like, you're notin a lot of danger off the tee.
And then from there, he's been amuch better player.
So I could see some improvementhere.
So out of those three, Nate, I,I much prefer, uh, is it now or

(27:23):
never for Ricky Fowler mightjust be never.
Let's take a look.
Yeah.
Ah, boy.
He's capable.
It just doesn't make a lot ofsense when and why it's
happening.

(27:44):
Charles Schwab, he had a goodresult, but that's an
unsustainable six strokes thathe gained with the putter.
Love what he did at theMemorial.
If I could get that every week, just a complete gain, six
strokes from tee to green, loveit.
But that's very few and farbetween.
I mean, really hasn't done thatoutside of that event in 2025.

(28:07):
Hasn't played here outside of2020, which I don't care about.
Miss the cut if you do.
Not much to get excited about.
If you look at the other guys inthat, who else is in that
eighth?
Oh, by the way, I'm testingsomething out.
I now have the ability on hereto do these little designation

(28:28):
bubbles, which I could saysomebody withdrew or whatever.
I loaded in for the Mondayqualifiers.
I just thought that would becool.
If you think there's somethingelse I could do that would be
cool to designate things, let meknow.
But I did load in those.
I have complete control of thesenow.
I can make them say anythingthey want and I can put them
anywhere or on any golfer.
I shouldn't say anywhere.

(28:50):
Other guys in that 8K range, I'mprobably just going to prefer...
I'm going to prefer ThorbjornOlsen.
I'm going to prefer KeithMitchell, believe it or not, and
I'm not a Keith Mitchell guy.
I'm going to prefer NicoEchevarria.
I'm going to prefer KurtKitayama.
I'm going to prefer MarkHubbard.
I would take Ricky over Putnam, but that might be where I draw

(29:11):
the line.
If JJ Jakovic won thistournament...
Oh, that's a statement.
Sorry.
It says JJ Jakovic, MichaelThorbjornson's caddy, won this
tournament with Ryan Moore in2016.
Got it.
Thank you.
Yes, okay, I'm finding you here.
Siwoo Kim pops up here fromAlex.

(29:33):
Pretty miserable the last coupleof weeks.
The problem with Siwoo is ifhe's not interested, he is not
interested, and he is going topunt this golf tournament away.
Exactly what you do with theRocket Mortgage, right?
He plays well through the firsttwo rounds, things start going
sideways, and it is just likedeuces.
Maybe I'm going to WD or maybeI'm just going to hit nine golf

(29:55):
balls out of bounds.
Like, who knows?
So I don't get a sense of greatgrind from Siwoo.
Really bad record here.
I will probably just try to grabSiwoo at Wyndham and call it a
day.
I'm usually not the 333.
Oh, oh, oh, I misread that.

(30:18):
Yes.
So I owe Armina.
I told Armina I'd give her$3 foreverything.
Every golfer she named, if shegot over, I didn't think she was
going to name 111 of them.
She said I could, they'reopening up a new, I don't know
if I should say the name of therestaurant, but they're opening
up a restaurant here nearby thatis like the third location of a

(30:40):
place that she really likes.
And she said, I can pay her bytaking her there.
So that's what I'll do.
We went there on her birthday.
She loves it.
So we're going to do that.
That's going to be the paymentfor her.
Okay, I've answered a couple ofthese questions, which is good.
So let's see here.
Was saving Xander and Hovlandfor the playoffs, but with a

(31:01):
recent surge of segment threefor one and done, should I use
one of them in tandem?
Oh, so you have to use two.
You should use, it depends onwho else you have left.
Do you have Hatton left as well?
I would argue you could use RonManhattan and still save those

(31:21):
two for the playoffs, somethinglike that.
If you are going to use one ofthem, I would use Xander.
I appreciate that Joe mama, uh,cash me or Keith first round
leader.
So here's part of the reasonthat I'm in on, on Keith this
week.
And I don't, you know, I'm not abig Keith Mitchell fan.

(31:42):
And I think there's a reallygood chance.
He gets off to a good start andstruggles the rest of the way.
So this is the, um, tier one insplash, which is basically the
top, you know, eight or 10players.
So Ben Griffin is in a, in a,you can't even see him on, He's
in a league of his own.
The X-axis is strokes gainedover the last 36 rounds.
The Y-axis is strokes gained atthe John Deere Classic.

(32:03):
Ben Griffin is in a tier of hisown.
Look at Keith Mitchell.
A surprisingly good second thereon this chart.
And the other thing about it is,from a statistical standpoint...
Where is he?
From a statistical standpoint...
he's getting beat up over this10 strokes that he lost at the

(32:25):
rocket classic last week, whichis very, very bad.
And I hope he doesn't do itagain.
It's unlikely that he does itagain, but that, that, that
punts his last 36 rounds.
And he still is showing up therepretty well because he was going
to like a 10 tournament run.
That has been really good.
And then of course he must havegood John Deere history to also

(32:46):
be on that chart.
And of course he does three outof four and made cuts.
Has never gained strokes withthe putter here.
So I think there's maybe achance that he finds something.
So yeah, I'm with you.
I think he's going to, if heplays well, it's more likely it
happens on Thursday and Fridaythan it does on Saturday or
Sunday.
Mina, she called it off at about90 minutes, I want to say.

(33:09):
And then, of course, afterwards,I started telling her names.
She was like, oh, I could havegone for a lot longer.
I don't know.
She was pretty stumped.
She got stuck on Sahid's name.
She was like, what's that guy'sname?
It starts like, Sa, Sa.
She kept saying that.
And then she like, I think itdrove her nuts and she couldn't
get past it, but it took herabout 90 minutes.

(33:33):
What are your top three plays?
7,500 and below.
Okay.
Kevin Roy, I think is a prettyclear one for me.
Quietly playing beautiful golf.
Top 20s.

(33:53):
Metrics are awesome.
This is a Kevin Roy field.
Okay.
Love this profile.
I think he's a pretty clear one.
Tristan Lawrence, I think, is a1A or a 2.
Also quietly.
Look at what he did.
So this is another good ad forRick Rungood.
T8 at the Rocket.

(34:14):
Awesome.
T12 at Oakmont, awesome.
He missed the cut to KLM open, but didn't miss it by much.
The stat profile wasn't bad.
Fourth at the Sodol, theEuropean Tour event, where he
gained another four strokes onapproach.
So we've got three really goodresults in his last four, and I
think this is a pretty good spotfor him.
I do.
So that's another one.

(34:35):
And then probably, if you wantedto go to Lee Hodges, I'd be
fine.
If you wanted to go to...
Emiliano Grillo, I'd be fine.
If you wanted to go to AustinEckroot, I'd be fine.
But those other two are prettygood.
Big lead in one and done.
Oh, you used Griff.
Just play Jason Day.

(34:56):
It's a lot closer, Corey.
You can probably play any one ofthose guys.
I would probably just play JasonDay.
But the options for those whoare just listening are Day,
Poston, Knapp, and ThorBjornsson.
So many options there.
Very, very tight.

(35:20):
Please don't start naming abunch of players in the chat and
I have to dig through like TyTryon and Ken Duke comments.
Yeah, Max Homa is broken.
Are golfers drug tested?
Yes, they don't release thething though.

(35:41):
What's the crawl?
Oh, you don't like that.
You don't like the ticker at thebottom.
I mean, give Rob a break forlike five minutes.
We'll take the ticker off.
All right.
It's giving him seizures.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I've answered a lot of these, which is great.

(36:02):
Ninth out of 101 and done.
I've already used Griffin.
No, you should use...
That says...
Am I better off going withMcCarty to retain position?
I think you mean McCarthy.
Don't click McCarty's name.
That would be Matt McCarty.
Click Denny McCarthy's name.

(36:22):
No idea what's wrong withSungjae, but it's been bad for
about since the start of theyear.
Not very good.
One and done.
Ben or Denny.
I'm about 5 million behindfirst.
It's Ben.
My betting card.
Do not bet what I bet.
This is just for conversation.
My goals and aspirations andrisk tolerance is way different

(36:45):
than yours.
So don't bet what I bet.
But I've only bet two names thisweek and I'm okay going to
battle with that.
So I have bet, like I said, BenGriffin at 16 to one, Michael
Thorbjornsen at 35 to one.
That's it.
I'll go to battle with thoseguys and I'll save my money

(37:06):
for...
Next week.
I need a Rick Run Goodbobblehead.
So believe it or not, I don'tknow if you can see it.
A buddy of mine had a Rick RunGood bobblehead made and it is
back there and it looks a lotlike me.
It's very creepy in a good way.
Like I love the real ones.
I don't know if you guysremember there was an old
company.
I think it was called BGEBDABG.

(37:28):
Three letters that started witha B and they used to always just
be those standard like kind offrumpy looking bobbleheads.
And everybody was the sameshape.
Everybody was the same size.
And then as there was anothercompany that started coming out,
I think it was ForeverCollectibles or whatever.
They started doing around theearly 2000s, they started doing
more action bobbleheads andskinnier guys and kind of made

(37:51):
it look like them and differentposes.
I like the realistic ones.
And this one looks a lot likeme.
It's kind of crazy.
In on God or Up.
Is Bud Colley a sneaky good oneand done play?
I think he's a little bit toosneaky.
I think he's definitely cooledoff.
It's going to be fine, but Ithink it's a little bit too

(38:12):
sneaky.
I would rather play Day orPoston or Thor Bjornsson or Nico
Echevarria or Jake Knapp orLucas Glover.
I mean, didn't even really talkabout Lucas Glover.
Like Lucas Glover is a prettydarn good option for this week.
There is probably not a golfcourse in the world.

(38:34):
that I could find that LucasGlover has been an overall
positive putter in his last sixstarts at.
And that's what he's been doingat John Deere Classic.
That's what he's been doinghere.
Mina says, show the bobblehead.
All right, hold on a second.

(38:54):
So real quick, first off, here'sthe Zander one from winning the
Wayne and the PGA.
That's the Xander one.
And then this is the one.
This is, I mean, scarilyaccurate, isn't it?
Like, it has like a wedding bandon.

(39:16):
I don't know if it's going toself-focus.
It is.
Like, how insane is that?
It's pretty good.
It's pretty good.
All right.
Where was I, Mina?
Where was I?
Answer that, answer that, answerthat.
Mentioned Ekro, he is myfavorite cheapest option.

(39:44):
He's the last guy that I'm...
I think he's$7,000 flat that I'mcomfortable with.
Then maybe Chris Ventura wouldbe the absolute lowest option.
Could you beat Nick Dunlap in amatch right now?

(40:05):
Oh, I laugh.
I laugh.
No.
No.
I couldn't.
I hope he gets that figured out.
So this comes up.
I shouldn't say a lot because Ithink people have gotten
somewhat used to it.

(40:26):
Rick Rungood does need to bebetter on mobile and tablets.
And it hasn't gotten better.
So I'm in between two systemsnow.
The system that has the cheatsheet, the custom model, and the
golfer profiles is much betteron your cell phone horizontally,
much better on a tablet thansome of the other pages on the

(40:48):
website.
The problem that I've run into, excuse me, because I'm not a
coder, obviously, is there'sjust so much data.
And I would have to kind of paredown a lot of it.
And I don't know if I want to dothat.
So always on my list though.
In on Grillo for the most part,in on Hisat's name.
So the thing with Rio is thatthere are a few guys in his

(41:13):
price range that are actuallytop 10 talented players and that
you would not be at allsurprised.
Or you'd be surprised if theyfinished inside the top 10.
You would not be at allsurprised if Rio finished inside
the top 10.
Doesn't always happen, but he'sa very, very good player.
Finds himself in the mix muchmore frequently than not.

(41:34):
Okay, this is a good one sincehe's considering one of the, or
oops, not Jordan, JT Poston.
Since he's one of the favorites, let's look at Poston here.
Because on paper, this isexcellent golf course for him.
Obviously, the success that he'shad around here, he won here in
2022.
He finished sixth in 2023 and hefinished 30th last year.

(41:57):
It's been a bizarre year forhim.
Really bizarre year.
Lost the putter to start.
Found it.
Had some good results.
Now he can't hit it well.
I mean, he's lost a lot ofstrokes on approach since before
that, since the Valspar.
I mean, he's been a pretty bigloser since the Valspar on

(42:18):
approach.
One good week.
It was the PGA Championship.
Good week to do it at.
But this is not super inspiringstuff, especially because his
best thing is approach play andputting, right?
Go find a fairway, hit it close, and make the putt.
I'll tell you what, though.
He's actually, despite...

(42:40):
He has played well.
He has good results at deer runin spite of horrible approach
play.
I mean, he's putted the coveroff of it.
Six strokes gained last yearputting.
He finished 30th.
7.3 in his T6, and then the oneyear that he gained strokes on
approach, he won.
God, that feels a little...

(43:02):
Fool's gold.
I just don't like the way thisfeels.
It's a very bizarre statprofile.
I mean, I'm interpreting it theway that I'm interpreting it,
but I don't like the way thatthat looks.
The Holy Grail is this seasonand last.

(43:24):
The stats page is this seasonand last season, but I've got an
update where you're going to beable to adjust that.
Let's look at Hayden Springer.
I saw two questions about HaydenSpringer in a row.
Not super inspiring.

(43:47):
Has lost strokes to the field infour out of his last five.
Played well at the Rocket.
Well, I shouldn't say he playedwell.
He drove it well and he puttedit well, which are two things
you need to do.
But this week is not going tolet you get away with that.
And he is not a very good secondshot player, at least hasn't
been as of late.
Yeah, that's probably not forme.
Potgeeter pass.

(44:09):
Just like, let's just check in.
So I also put this in mynewsletter of which you can
links in the description.
So I don't have to scrollthrough this.
Now, of guys who have won on thePGA Tour in 2025, Pocketer's got
by far the highest missed cutrate.
He's missed the cut in 65% ofhis starts this year.

(44:29):
Now, he's made the most out ofeverything that he's made the
cut in, but he's already veryvolatile on a golf course that
is not nearly as good as lastweek and having to deal with
being a winner.
Pass.
The only red flag about MattMcCarty is that he hasn't been
good.
Is that right enough for you?
I'm a believer, although I didfinally just start benching him

(44:52):
in my fantasy, my season-longfantasy.
I've gotten nothing out of him.
He's just so reliant on gainingseven or eight strokes putting
right now, which is not the wayhe did it on the corn fair.
It's not what he did in thefall.
It is just so bad.
Valamaki?

(45:14):
Probably don't have much of anopinion on Valamaki, but let's
take a look.
Yeah, I don't.
It's exactly what I expected.
Some decent play.
It's kind of similar.
He's got to gain three to sixstrokes with the putter.
He's probably not going to dothat.
7,300 is probably a little bittoo expensive for that.

(45:40):
Luke Clanton.
My general opinion on LukeClanton is that the pendulum has
swung a little bit too far.
He was the greatest thing sincesliced bread.
Then he struggles a little bit,and now he's back down to$8,700.
He's way better than that.

(46:00):
The approach play isnonsensically good.
He is a streaky putter, which isfine.
We knew that.
The results are fine.
And he finished T2 here lastyear.
I'm in on Clanton.
I think it's swung way too far.
Del Solar deep dive.

(46:22):
Cristobal Del Solar.
Got off to a pretty decent startlast week and then really punted
it away on the weekends.
Canadian Open, yeah, he's likean 18-hole player.
He's like an 18- to 36-holeplayer right now, having a real
difficult time putting multiplerounds together.
So it would be very, veryshort-term investments on Del

(46:46):
Soler.
Is it a Glover week?
Yes.
Quade Cummings.
Cummins, sorry.
Sorry, Quade.
Is he the only guy with a Qname?
Woof.
That Detroit golf club profileis about as bad as I could ever

(47:08):
imagine.
Losing strokes on approach andputting to the tune of like 10.
Not good.
I've got anyone not.
Okay.
So you've used M day posting Kimavailable in my one and done.

(47:28):
Oh, you have anybody but them.
I don't know what your positionis.
If your position is good, playGriffin.
If it's not, play Lucas Glover.
Gim Reaper is snicking up onpeople.
Let's look.
Doug Gim, I'm happy to say, is aname that Armina...
Whoa, he put the bucket cap onfor the headshot.
Good on you, Dougie.

(47:50):
Love that.
Armina hates when I wear mybucket hat because I look just
like that.
I look pretty bad in it.
That's not a good look, Doug.
Complete game at the Rocket.
I want to be in on this.
He's picked up strokes from teeto green in six out of seven,

(48:11):
which is good.
Putter's not.
Okay.
All right.
Okay.
Six out of ten.
Six out of ten for Gim.
Philip Nolte.
Oh, in on Hubbard.
Yeah, I think.
So, John, I think I might havetalked about him on Monday.
Hubbard is a pretty goodintersection of recent form and

(48:31):
history.
The form coming in is prettysound.
He missed the cut at the USOpen.
I don't care at all about that.
Has the T5, the T7, the 13, allgood stuff.
And then his John Deere classichistory is pretty strong.
At least the last four are.
No worse than 41st, two top 15finishes.
One of them was a T6.
Yeah, that's no problem there.
I'm fine with all that.

(48:53):
Philip Knowles...
Why can't I spell his nameright?
Usually it gives me spellingerrors.
There we go.
It's okay.
It's okay.

(49:14):
Played great in Raleigh on aCorn Fairy Tour event to start
June.
So he played four times in June.
T8 miscut.
That was the Canadian Open.
35th in Wichita.
That was Corn Fairy.
And then 34th, the Rocket.
I guess the good news is it'sgoing to be a weak field.
If you wanted to play him at 60,okay, 6,200 is pretty good.

(49:36):
Yeah, I wouldn't mind it.
Crillo's headshot, he justchanged it, I think.
They just updated the newheadshot.
So I have this tied to theofficial PGA Tour headshots.
So what I'm assuming happenedhere, give you a little look
behind the scenes.
What I'm assuming happened hereis he got a new sponsor.
I don't know this to be sure, but I'm assuming he got a new

(49:57):
sponsor.
And was like, yo, we got to redomy headshot.
That's part of the contract.
So we got to get this done.
And they were like, oh, dude, our professional photographer
left.
He's not here.
And he was like, okay, I'll justtake a photo of you with my
iPhone and we'll post that untilwe can get you a real headshot.

(50:18):
Because this is not framedproperly.
This is clearly low quality.
This is at a bad angle.
It does not look like everybodyelse's So I'm assuming that's
what happened.
And I bet you in the course ofthe next week or two, he will
have a new one in there.
Okay.

(50:39):
Real quick.
Let me knock out these lastthree here real quick.
Jacob Bridgman.
It's a lot of red.
And the problem with this isit's almost a perfect X, by the
way.
Look at that.
Boom.
Boom.
What I hate about this is it'ssomething different every week,

(51:03):
which I hate.
I mean, it's literally a perfectX, which is not enjoyable.
So that is usually a no for me.
Is it a Denny week?
Yes.
Is there a wave advantage?
Probably not.
What are your thoughts onSvensson?
Is it Adam or is it Jesper?
I'm assuming it's Jesper whomissed the cut last week on a
golf course that should havebeen really good for him.

(51:24):
Drove it well, putted it reallyterribly.
I'm probably okay with this.
Yeah, he's a talented player.
Again, that combination ofdriving and putting is not as
valuable here, but he's, Ithink, more well-rounded than
just a two-trick pony.
Rob, I've annoyed into donating.
He says, thanks for turning offthe crawl.
Was quite jittery.

(51:45):
So I just have to annoy you.
And then stop annoying you toget the super chat.
No, I'm messing with you guys.
Appreciate it.
Okay.
I'm going to go grab a quickUncrustable or something.
And then I've got a couple morethings I need to do.
And then I've got to run out.
So I'm going to put a pin inthis right now.

(52:07):
But I'm going to say, oh, let'sgo see what the Splash Sports.
Our Listener League was on pacefor a huge overlay.
Let's see what it's at now.
It still might overlay.
$742 out of$1,100.
That is usually much fartherthan that.

(52:30):
So if you want to get in now, itwould be a good time to do that.
$25 an entry, completelyguaranteed.
So if it overlays, it overlays.
You're still going to pay itout.
The other thing, so theylaunched this MLB Streak.
So it's like ESPN beat thestreak.

(52:53):
So if your guy gets a hit, youmove on.
So it's like Survivor, but forbaseball.
I kind of love this.
I used to love the MLB beat thestreak.
And they just launched those.
So I appreciate the...
Who do I have for tonight?
Sal Frelick.
What time is that game?
I'm cutting into my Uncrustabletime, but now I'm curious.

(53:20):
Sal Freelick plays for whom?
Milwaukee.
Oh, is it over?
Oh, crap.
Oh, he got two hits today.
Maybe just hasn't updated yet.
All right.
I think I'm through.
He was two for five.
Easy game.
All right.
That'll do it.
I will talk to you guys anothertime and goodbye.
