In this episode of the Road to Growth podcast, we are pleased to introduce you to G. Michael Hopf. Michael is a USA Today bestselling author and a leading voice in the post-apocalyptic fiction genre. With over 40 novels to his name and more than one million copies sold worldwide, Michael has captivated readers with his gripping tales of survival, loyalty, and human resilience in the face of collapse. His books have been translated into multiple languages and have consistently topped bestseller charts across North America and beyond.
A former U.S. Marine with three deployments and six years of service, Michael draws heavily on his military background to bring authenticity and intensity to his stories. He served in various combat roles, including as an anti-tank missileman and heavy machine gunner, and later worked in executive protection before transitioning to full-time writing.
Michael is best known for The New World Series, beginning with the breakout hit The End. The series, spanning multiple volumes, follows the harrowing aftermath of an EMP attack that plunges the United States into chaos. Praised for its realism, moral complexity, and fast-paced action, the series has become a cornerstone in modern survivalist fiction.
Beyond his work as an author, Michael is also a respected publisher and entrepreneur. He is the founder and managing partner of both Beyond The Fray Publishing and Free Reign Publishing— two companies that specialize in nonfiction titles in the realms of the paranormal, true crime, cryptids, UFOs, and ancient mysteries. Under his leadership, these companies have published hundreds of titles from new and established authors alike, becoming go-to imprints for readers drawn to the unexplained and unconventional.
In addition to writing and publishing, Michael offers coaching and consulting services to authors seeking guidance in the craft of storytelling, book marketing, and self-publishing. His experience as both a creator and a business owner gives him a unique perspective that he generously shares with others through podcast appearances and one-on-one mentoring. G. Michael Hopf lives with his family in San Diego, California.
