Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hello, everybody, it's me Cecily Nobler here with my friend
Stephanie Wilder Taylor.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Hello.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Hello.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
And speaking of Heller, remember when Paul Rudd used to
do that impression of you know how like you'd start
doing impressions of other people's impressions. So that was Paul
Rudd's impression of Medea, you know, of Tyler Perry's media,
and he would do this, you go, Henner, And then
I just started stealing that, like as though I came
(00:47):
up with it. I started doing it. But that said,
I just want to say. I finally watched Paul Rudd's
latest movie. He didn't direct it, but Friendship, and I
fucking hated it, and I just want, oh.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Did you watch it? No?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
It's Tim Robinson. I think you either love him or
you don't, And I guess I just don't because I
was so freaking into it. Do you ever just watch
a whole movie at home? I didn't need to watch
it for work, it was already passed. I was like, oh,
that's on, And I watched the whole thing and hated
almost every minute of it.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Do you ever do that? Yes? What's it about?
Speaker 4 (01:19):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:20):
It's hard to explain it's very It's.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Like the dark, dark version of like I Love You Man,
but not really at all, because I liked I Love
You Man.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
That's Paul Rudd and Jason Siegel. I enjoyed that one.
This is not that.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
It's like a crazy deranged guy and everything's just everything's cringe.
And he makes friends with this with Paul Rudd, who
lives down the street, and he wants to just be
one of the guys, but he's just so cringe and
it's so sad. It reminded me of like a Todd
Sallins movie, Oh Happiness and.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah fucking hate Touch. I saw that on a date
and we broke up right after. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Some people just make things worse, like I yeah, well,
you know I did like I like that movie Happiness.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
I know most people did.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
No, no, no, no, no, A lot of people liked it.
I just and I also liked you know, Wiener Dog.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
I like that one. That was the only one I
honestly can say that. I yeah, he's dark, he's definitely dark.
I just don't but anyway, that's okay. Let me start
with actually I said all that.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
You know what, you know what, Well, I'm going to
start with Robert Redford.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yes, we have to start with that.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
We have to start with And I gotta tell you,
I'm a little scattered because we're recording this.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
You're hearing it the next day, I think.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
But I was up at four am just like looking
up everything, like gotta do my Robert Redford radio lives,
you know. And the truth is, I don't think I
added that much to these stories that were already out
about Robert Redford. But I'll tell you a couple of
things I learned when doing it. First Off, he lived
a really great life. He lived almost ninety years old.
(02:55):
He just turned eighty nine. He was married, he had
lovely had kids. He lived in Utah. Obviously we know
who he is. But he was like very happy guy.
He was like he never got me tooed. He never
got like you know, he never He's just a good
dude that cared about movies but didn't get wrapped up
in anything like he just he was so fucking great.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
So let me start with that.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Is it too late to me too him that I'm
just asking for a friend?
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Who's the friend?
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Barbar Streisam? Are you good friends with a lot of people?
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Don't know those about Stephanie, but she and Streisan are
so close and I don't even know why she's trying
to make bar.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
And a lot of people try to come from my
my Babs and it's not it's not cool, she's she's
she's a straight up kind of lady.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Anyway, girl's lovely hubble. I fucking loved him.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Okay, I have a quick little story. This is Can
I tell a little quick personal story. Oh, I was
showing a guy the way we were because I love
that movie. I love it and I recall that. I
was like, he was like, what would he ever see
in her? She's disgusting? And I took such a fence
to that. I was like, what is it about her
(04:03):
that's disgusting? And he was like, and I kind of
gave him the look like go ahead, what is it
that you don't think's pretty about barbar Stow? And this
is young Barber Streisann, you know, yeah, who's door completely
fucking stunning. And he was like, well, I mean she's
just not traditional, and I was like, what is it?
We had that kind of conversation and he finally realized,
like he shouldn't say what he's thinking in this moment,
(04:24):
but it made me really mad.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
I would be mad. I can see why.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Yes, So, but one thing about Redford is he was
so good at his job in these romance kind of
things that there were rumors almost every time he did
a movie that he was having an affair with that person.
Mary some of them he may have. I think Fonda
he probably did. I think that's been talked about in
her book, but I may have made that up. But
she was very free, and I love that about Jane
(04:49):
Fonda as well. She was like fuck it in sane
with Meryl Streep and yeah, and everybody thought with bet
Meryll is like known for she bangs a lot of
her leading men allegedly really yeah, yeah, I mean allegedly.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
I don't know. I'm not there. Uh so that's kind
of interesting.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
So who was Robert Redford married to?
Speaker 1 (05:10):
He was married to, as they would say in Hollywood Reporter,
non industry they are.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
They would say, there was another thing they used to
say that was so rude.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
It was like a nothing'd basically be like, yeah, married
to a nothing, non, it doesn't matter. But he was
I don't remember how many times I know that. You know,
he lived a very private life. But he worked with
Paul Newman obviously quite a few times, but Cassidy and
Sting and they had this very fun, pranky friendship. They
(05:40):
would prank each other and that's like my favorite thing.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
I think.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
That's so I love when guys do that, especially And
he had a story after Paul Newman died where he
and his wife were like at you know, having dinner
and whatever, and somebody came up and they're like, we
just love you. We're sorry to bother you during dinner.
We just love you, and we love your salad dressing.
And he's like, damn it, that's the other guy. And
(06:05):
then the reporter that he was telling this too, is like,
did you ever buy the Paul Newman like spaghetti sauce
or seldron?
Speaker 3 (06:11):
He goes, oh god, no, I like good food.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
And that's his really good friend. He's making a joke,
you know, Like he was very sly.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
He was so freaking cute, and I don't really have
that much else to act that.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
I think I am in love with him.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
Probably so he was still married to his lady when
they believe.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
I didn't even get into that, but I mean I
think they were married a long time and.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
He moved off. He lived off in Utah.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
I mean he started sundance and was like, you know,
I like to ride horses and I like to this
is I just want to live a different life. He
called once. He called when I was me. He called
me once. It was a wrong number. I was like, oh,
wrong number, sir. No. He I was working for Richard
Dreyfus and he called the mainline and that was exciting
(06:58):
for me. Do you have a sexy yeah? He kind
of did. A lot of people called. One time ed
Asner called and I was like, don't do it. Don't
do it. And I was like, oh, I like did
the marriage And he didn't. He just cleared his throat
and then asked for Richard again. He was not nice
to me.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Oh my gosh. Ed Asner for Richard and I could
tell it really was him. So I was like, oh Rob.
He was like, but Redford very nice. Did you think
about it right before you did it? And go?
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:32):
I got I dare myself to do this, Okay, It's
like I had to. It was like it was like
a tick or something. It was like, how could I
not like ed Asner's on the phone. How when is
that gonna happen again?
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Right? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
I mean maybe his weird throat clearing was a joke
as well. I mean I had a lot of weird celebritiesing,
like the Cosby. When I told you about the Cosby
when I had his number and I just I called him.
I called Cosby right in the office and I was like, my.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Friend, and I are interested in writing helping you adapt
uh that albertscript as though he was just going to
be like, who's this, Let's do it?
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Like he's not going to do that himself or through
a studio. We did that?
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Did? I love that story so much? That is a
classic on board?
Speaker 3 (08:19):
It is a classic on board.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah, that's me and in fact we I played it
as a best of recently.
Speaker 4 (08:23):
Remember what Cecily calls Bill Cosby. Yes, he's like, take
my number, crumple it up, roll it the trash burn it.
I was like, so that's a no. Then on cloud
Albert adaptation.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I mean, all right, you know what we could all use,
and I mean all of us, you know, let's save
let's save that. Let's save that to till till the end. Right,
did he really did.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
He really said that right, one hundred percent, and he
wasn't kidding.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
He was not.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
I mean, now we know he wasn't kidding. I don't
think he was like the the kind.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Shock that he didn't say, like, listen, here's what I'm
going to do. Come over to my hotel room. I
want you to bring the adaptation. I want you to
bring it with you, and we're going to talk about
it over a nice drink.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Over a sprite like I don't even drink, mister Cosby,
which I did.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
I don't know why i'd say that, and we'll have
He's like, no, and he'll mind.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
This.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
My favorite thing.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
About the Bill, well, if I if my favorite thing,
if I had to pick just one favorite thing is
what I mean, Uh, it's that he would he would
he would assault these women, even when they're sick. He'd
just be like, well, here's some cold medicine. Yeah you're oh,
you have a really but you're really nauseous. Well here's
some alka seltzer. And I dropped something special in there.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
For you, alka sexer. That's not like me to say that.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
I blame we're laughing because the it's the Bill Cosby
story is just so upsetting me. Take well, yeah, but
it's also a little on me on that one, like
who does that?
Speaker 3 (10:00):
That's a good one.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
And do you remember you remember my story about Billy
Squire calling the office?
Speaker 3 (10:07):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
I don't know if I did anything weird, but I
think did I not befire?
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (10:12):
I think I was like, oh, I think I asked
for his last name. He got offended.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
But why would he be offended? How would you know
if he just says it's Billy for the memory says
it's Billy. Well maybe he said.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
I don't remember I now, I don't remember the story
now that I'm put on the spot. All I know
is that he was like, it's oh that, yeah, that
I said, I'm sorry, Billy, what's your lesson? He was
like Squire and then as if And the way I
would retell the story is if I'm supposed to just
be like, oh, yes, joke, misstroke, I would still have
(10:45):
to think about it.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
I mean, like I get it, but like, what the fuck?
Speaker 2 (10:49):
He was hot at the time, but it could have been.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
What if it was Billy Idol? How the fuck does
he know that? Nos Billy Idle? He had I bas Billy,
you'd know right, that's true.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
I will tell you this last thing before we really
get into it. But Robert Record was our beginning, so
we have we have death like we've done something already
in case you're right. But one time on my home number,
I got a call and it was a wrong number,
and it was like, uh, David Frankel for Linda Lavin.
And I was like, obviously it was the wrong number.
I am not Linda Lavin. And I was so excited.
(11:22):
I was like, well, I'm back in the game. By
the way, David Frankel directed all the Sex and the City,
a lot of Sex and the City episodes, and also
like Devil Wears Prada, so.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
He was like, he's like a big, like fun director.
So I was very excited already.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Well you had a chance. If he's calling for Linda Lavin,
I know, it's just like my friend I told you.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
From Autist doesn't live here anymore, and Alice, she just
passed away last year. But I was laughing.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
My friend and I laugh and so every now and
then we'll just be like, it's David Frankel from Linda Lavin.
I'm like, yep, sorry, nope, wrong number. That's an old
bread friends, but we're old, so should we should we
move on to Denise because I did promise.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yes, yes, yes, some people have been fast forwarding. They're like,
get to Denise. Well, let me hear it's Charlie Sheen.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
By the way, if you didn't listen, I think we
did a pretty damn good job on the Charlie Sheendock.
We did like like two hours on a three.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
We got into it.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
And they're in two parts and we both love him.
But one of us was a little easier on him
than the other.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
I'm gonna say I think people would be surprised to
know whichness was easier on him.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Actually I know.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
But then I read some other stuff where I was like, yeah,
I want to read that to Stephanie.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
But it's but it's not like I don't agree with you.
He's charming as fuck and I'm rooting for him. I'm
glad he's sober, and I think he is and you know,
like he deserves happiness.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
You know, where people are being I'm realizing that there's
a theme two people that are loving it, and that
theme is that people who people who struggle with addiction.
I'm not saying loved it. Other people don't understand. Yeah,
but I'm saying, like the people that were like, oh
my god, he's so great. There seems to be this
thing in a lot of like Facebook groups I'm in
(13:14):
where anybody who's like a sober person is like, I.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Know, I just loved it. I thought he was so
like grt.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
But I will do a follow up since we're talking
about Hollywood. Charlie Sheen, one of the things I just
read you probably saw this was he's like, yeah, I
meant to Charlie Sheen said this in an interview. He's like,
I meant to thank John Cryer, but I don't have
the right number for him anymore. So, John, if you're
reading this, thanks for doing the doc. And a lot
of people pointed out, dude, you could have gotten John
Cryer's number from the documentarian who had him on your
(13:43):
movie if you really wanted to find So it's like
a lot of the stuff he says is such bullshit,
which again is why his dad and his brother won't
fucking do the doc. That's why they're like, no, fuck,
I can't, I can't, you know, and why John Cryer
is so scared he fucked up his life, and it's like,
don't don't say don't bullshit.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Now we're past the bullshit. We like you dude, Can
I can I play Devil's Advocate? Though?
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Sure, why not? I'm gonna do it. Why don't know
I play Devil's Advocate?
Speaker 2 (14:15):
What if he didn't even know John Cryer at first
was going to be in the movie. Let's just say
because John Cryer was like, yeah, I don't know about this,
Like so what if he what if? It was more
like he felt like, Okay, they got John Cryer. It's
not my movie. It's they made a movie about me.
And I agreed to like open up and tell all
this stuff, but that was up to them that who
(14:37):
they got to do it. And I'm not in John
Cryer's life. So maybe he thought it would be kind
of a weird thing for him to just call John
Cryer who might hate him.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
Now, well, no, because he did say in the same
interview he was like, it was I reached out to
John Cryer to say thank you, but he didn't get
back to me. And that's not like John. So I
don't think I have his number anymore. So I don't
know putting it out on oh.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
God that I did. He was like, I think I
have the wrong number of things said that. They said,
did you reach out to him?
Speaker 1 (15:04):
And he said, no, I don't think I have the
right No, no, I'm sorry he did. And then John
Cryer did and get back to him. And then he's like, so,
if anybody knows John, if you're if you're listening to
this podcast, reach out. And a lot of people pointed out, like, well,
you could probably get it.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
You probably still get it.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
I mean, Chuck Glory could give it to you too,
Like you're still you're on term good terms now, it
just seems like true.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
What do you call it? Like?
Speaker 1 (15:27):
And somebody else was mad that he didn't talk about,
like well, what else are you doing that's good for
the world, Like it's great that you're a good dad,
but like what charity, like anything else that you did?
Speaker 3 (15:35):
You know? But I guess he doesn't have to do shit.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
All he has to really make amends to are the
people that are in his family and the people that
he worked with that he hurt.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
He doesn't have to make amends to the world. That's true.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
I mean, see I'm now I've flipped. I'm on your
I mean I'm I agree now whose side I don't?
And we also both decided that we love Denise Richards.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
She really she really loves him. She still very much
loves him and wants to be chosen by him. It's
just not happening, I don't think. But she and her
second exploy or however many husbands she's had, Aaron who
if you watch Real Housewives Beverly Hills, you'll know Arin
he's no good, He's no bue, no no, And they're
(16:22):
going back and forth. She as most of you know,
Like she posted a really awful photo of herself with
a black eye that she says he inflicted on her.
We saw during an episode how hard he grabbed her
hand and told her to like shut up. That was
on camera, so I you know, I don't know, but
like we know what we saw.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
He's now saying that all of her abuse claims are
completely false, none of it's real. And the reason she's
doing is because she owes me money. So that's her
way out of the money. That's what Aaron And what money?
Where did he even said before that he didn't have
a way to get money? Yeah, Spousal support is what
he's calling it because he got used to a lifestyle,
(17:04):
and he says she's lying about it. I mean, I
believe I'm just gonna say right now, I totally believe Denise.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Right.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
So Aarin responds to Denise's request for a domestic violence
restraining order and says, I he says, it's all a
ruse to cut me off from support. I mean, this guy, like, who, like,
imagine anybody lying in this Like who? There's no there's
a terrible story here either way. But I don't think
she's lying.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
So and so and he's also I don't know if
you're on that article, but I mean he's claiming that
it the place is a wreck because of her. She
like abandoned her animals. I don't believe that.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Erin also claims he has evidence showing that this is
on page six that quote.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Denise won't stop calling him.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Yeah, but she might be calling him for different reason
to like get your get the dogs ready, so I
you know, I mean she could be calling for many reasons.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Yeah, he put one of her dogs down. Oh my god,
I can't even I mean, what kind of a piece
of shit does that?
Speaker 2 (18:04):
And then he's like, yeah, well, all her dogs are here.
Well she I guess they had a change in the
restraining order so that she could go get all the dogs,
so he was probably holding them captive.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
He says Denise is lying about going to the home
to pick up the dogs. He says she didn't even
have room for the animals in her corvette. That's specific.
Aaron also says Denise violently smashed his cell phone and
then lied about it. He denies her claims that he
took her laptop and phone. He says he took pictures
of a computer screen. Oh my phone, just but yeah,
I took pictures of a computer screen. So why does
(18:39):
page six go to a white page.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
All the time? Right? Is that? And then now I
don't even know where I was.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
But he's basically saying, yeah, that she's lying about everything
and that their house was completely like filthy.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
He's the worst.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
But he's the one who's been living there, That's the thing.
There's all these pictures of how disgusting the place is,
right and his whole family is living there. So Okay,
I know we're going to get into another story where
we're going to be standing up for more for the guy,
But I don't know. It's it's very difficult because we've
seen Denise, we have seen her acting a little unstable.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
I think she was drinking. I think she has some
her own issues for sure. We saw it on the show, Yes,
on Real Housewives Your six. Yes, I mean I don't
think that's you know, but yeah, and that's her own thing.
But that doesn't mean that she would make up this
whole thing. No, I don't think she would make up
(19:37):
this whole thing.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Nobodyides and his family is all a bunch of fucking freeloaders.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Oh yeah, that's what everyone's thinking, that she's so bad.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
If she's so bad, get the fuck out of her.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
House, yes, and leave us all alone, you fucking piece
of shit.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Now, he's a total grifter.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
That guy has been grifting and grifting since since early
in the Real Housewives.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
And making weird on Real Housewives. He's like, I made
this mushroom soup everyone should buy. I made this electronic.
He had a weird thing that you supposed to like
instead of taking medicine, hook up these electrodes.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
Just just a Charlottan total.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Allowed it, though she did when she went along with
it and let him like promote his shit.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
She did, And even when they were at a dinner
and everybody was like, what, yeah, hell, this guy is
out of his mind, We're all having to sit there.
It was so uncomfortable, even for the cast. They were
just like, this guy's ridiculous. Yeah, and now we see.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
And I also very much hated that the cast turned
on her and tried to out her for being bisexual,
