４月「今月のオススメ児童書」（Navi:藤木優子）紹介作品は理不尽な校則を自らの手で変えようと立ち上がった中学生たちの話　工藤純子作『ルール！』（講談社）です。（2022年4月から同年9月まで朝日中高生新聞に掲載された連載小説に加筆・修正され、2023年１0月講談社から発売）中学二年生で文芸部所属の知里（ちり）が受けた学校での屈辱的な出来事。これをきっかけに文芸部の仲間、そして生徒会も加わり、校則の見直しをかけて学校側と対話を重ねていきます。疑問に思うことをそのままにしておかない、当たり前を当たり前と思わないー時代の変化とともに考えさせられる作品です。作者は『となりの火星人』『あした、また学校で』そしてJBBY　日本国際児童図書評議会「おすすめ！世界の子どもの本　2022」選定図書に選ばれた『サイコーの通知表』「いじめ」の問題を加害者と被害者からの視点で描いた話題作『だれもみえない教室で』（以上、講談社）など学校を舞台に子どもに寄り添った作品を多く書かれている人気児童文学作家　工藤純子さん。番組の終わりに作者の工藤純子さんよりさくらラジオリスナーさん宛に頂いたお手紙をご紹介！！最後までぜひ聴いて下さいね。

April's “Recommended Children's Book of the Month” (Navi: Yuko Fujiki) is “Rule!” written by Junko Kudo and published by Kodansha, whose story is about junior high school students who stood up to change unreasonable school rules with their own hands. Chiri, a second-year junior high school student who belongs to the literature club, is humiliated by an incident at school. This incident triggers a dialogue between her fellow members of the literature club as well as the student council and the school, to revise the school rules. This is a work that will make you think the importance of not leaving questions unanswered and not taking things for granted with the changing times.

The author is Ms. Junko Kudo, a popular children's literature author who has written many works for children set in schools, including “Tonari no Kaseijin”, “Ashita mata Gakko de”, “Saiko no Tsuchihyou” which was selected as one of the “World Children's Books 2022” by JBBY and “Daremo Inai Kyoshitsu de,” a popular work depicting bullying issues from the perspectives of both perpetrators and victims (all above published by Kodansha).
