Alla katastrofer går att lösa. Det är Monica Erikssons motto. Som när sjukdomen MS gjorde henne rullstolsbunden. Eller när sonen Jojje förlorade synen. Martin Dyfverman har mött henne.

Hon kunde så småningom återfå rörelseförmågan. Och hon hjälpte sonen genom att inte hjälpa för mycket. Och som i våras, då MS slog ut hennes syn till mer än 99 procent. Många tårar kom, men sen kom kamplusten.
- Tänk om alla kunde se så mycket som jag kan nu!
Monica är livsglädjen personifierad. Utan att se, fäster hon blicken intensivt i den hon möter. Hon halvspringer smidigt på den smala trottoarkanten intill landsvägens framrusande trafik på väg till sin stuga i utkanten av Hofors. Cyklister och busschaufförer hejar glatt. Hon har just skaffat sig ett nytt jobb som telefonförsäljare.
- Jag samlar på pärlor varje dag, sa hon till Martin Dyfverman. Till slut har man ett halsband!
