Speaker 1 (00:12):
Hey, they're Spooky friends and welcome to another episode of
the Scaryish Podcast. I'm Robin Graces is Adam Diaz and
uh it's Halloween.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
It is Happy Halloween.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Yeah, this episode is coming out on Halloween. Thank you everybody.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Happy birthday.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Thank you to everybody who's wished me happy birthday. You
guys are awesome.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
The Spooky Queen was indeed born on the Spooky Day.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
I know our friend ghost Dunks already like wished me
happy birthday over there on our discord.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
And he's wishing that to you from Japan, so.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
He was, he's in the futures, in the future.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yeah, he's monitoring.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Those and uh, I know you know my aunt and everyone.
You guys are great.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
But shout out to all of them who have wished
you a happy birthday.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah. Yeah, Oh and my babe, welcome.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Happy birthday, babe. It's been a couple of weeks since
you guys last heard from us.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
I've been I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I'll tell you what happened. I said, Robin, grab your ID,
we're going to Salem and she said, well, I said, yeah,
we went to l a X. I said, give me
a plane to Salem. And then we landed and we
got out into Salem and I was just like, show
me the witches and they said this is Oregon, and
I say, God damn it, not again, because that's the
second time we've wound up an Oregon. But no, we

(01:27):
went up to Oregon for our friend of the show,
Marcia's wedding.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
You may have heard her voice a time or two
on the show.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
It was very hoa hoa hoa vibes.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Oh my gosh. I had to tell Oudam what it was.
He was like, what is hoa hoa hoah?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
And she sang it to me, sing it. Let the
folks like me, you don't know what.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Ho No, if you don't know what it is, watch
Twilight then you'll know what it is.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
I was like, what the fuck is all this stuff
about Hoa's homeowners associations are so confused now? They had
a wonderful wedding. It was like in the woods amongst
the redwood trees had a little bit of I don't know,
I just assume any giant tree that looks like a
redwood is redwood.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
You are, yeah, they're huge.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
It was a beautiful wedding and beautiful ceremony. Congratulations Marsha
and Georgia beautiful humans. It was really fun going up there. Yeah,
so that's where we were this past week ish and
now we're back and we're ready for the spooky day.
So yeah, I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
I'm excited. I We've already gone over my costume, but
I'm so excited. We decorated our office and stuff at
work today and we're ready. We're ready for Halloween. I
hope you guys are doing something fun tonight for Halloween.
If you're listening to this on Halloween, if it's after Halloween,
then hope you had fun.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
I hope you're having fun every day.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
But yeah, I'm excited. I think this is a much
more chill year than we usually have for Halloween.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
We're not doing a reading this year. In case wondering
there's gonna be a topic, Robin's topic is this week.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
And then there's gonna be a little bit of a
bonus at the end of the show. So once Robin's
wrapped up, don't turn off the episode, just hang on
for a minute because there's a little Halloween special for
you Halloween gift. So it's a trick or it could
be a treat. You don't know, we'll find out, I guess.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Okay, So this was going to be another Robin episode.
It was going to be a me episode, but Adam
wanted to add a little bonus. So I'm a little
bit excited. It's I don't know what he's going to
bring up, so it's going to be an experience for
all of us. I came across this weird conspiracy theory

(03:34):
that may or not be may or may not be
solved recently, and it's a little bit of a an
internet mystery. Okay, so we all love those Internet mysteries.
I'd never heard of this before, and I was kind
of excited to read up on it because it was
something that that I was shocked I hadn't heard about
before because we've covered so many topics and me, I mean,

(04:00):
it's not that mysterious, and that's why I haven't come
across it before.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
You know, you have me really hyper, Well should I
just skip to the atom part?

Speaker 1 (04:10):
But I thought it was fun, it was interesting, and
here we go. So apparently there has been a radio
station that has been broadcasting from like the middle of
Russian Swampland since like nineteen eighty Two, there's been this
radio station that for a long time, for a long time,

(04:32):
no one ever claimed it. It was just this radio
station that broadcasted this sound or a bunch of stuff
that we'll get to.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
This is weird, okay, and Russia swamp broadcasts.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah, so no one knew why it was broadcasting. It
was just this radio station for years that broadcast this sound.
No one knew what it was for.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
So it's just a sound. It's not like hits from
the A, the nineties and today.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
No, it was It's not music. It's not like the
radio stations. It's no, it's no like it's not like
there's somebody reading off you know, what's happening in during
a sports game or the weather or something like that.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Next another ho ho ho of.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
So there was a collection or was is. It's a
little bit of a toss up because there are multiple locations. Now, Okay,
So there was a location of radio towers, electrical lines,
and abandoned buildings in a gated off area a little
distance away from Saint Petersburg. And this is in Russia,

(05:36):
not anywhere in the US. I'm sure there's a Saint
Petersburg somewhere out here in the US. But this abandoned
bundle of structures was thought to be the headquarters of
this mystery broadcast known by a few names, such as
the MDZHB of course, or the UVB seventy six.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Oh, those are the same thing.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
But it brought podcasts the same sound twenty four hours
a day, seven days a week since nineteen eighty two.
And that's a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Now is it like a consistent tone or is it
like a variety of sounds? Is it a Stairway to Heaven? No?
Is it freebird?

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Nothing is Stairway to Heaven or freebird? Those are very unique,
you would know. Yeah, if you've never listened to Stairway
to Heaven, that's time you'll never get back.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Wow, it's so long. My favorite thing about Stairway to
Heaven is Wayne's world when he's looking at the guitar
he wants to buy and he starts to play a
song on it, and the guy who's selling him the
guitar like grabs it so he can't play and point
to a sign in the store that says no Stairway
to Heaven. Stairway denied.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Okay, So this sound is like a do we have
the sound is it download? You can listen to it
on YouTube. There are YouTube videos of just here's what.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
I'm gonna try. I'm gonna try and download the sound
and play it for y'all for like five seconds. I'm
gonna mark the audio so I can edit it in
right here.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Okay. So it's this just pretty basic tone that's intermixed
with the sound of like a creepy sounding foghorn every
once in a while, like a buzz honk type sound
like it'll be like buzzing, you know, basic buzzing, and
then there'll be a horn every once in a while.

(07:51):
And some people have even said that the buzz that
you hear has been decreasing in speed and pitch over
the last few decades. So it used to be faster
when it first started, but over the decades it's slowed
down a little bit, and you can tell there's a difference.

(08:12):
And there's videos out there on YouTube where you can
listen to and there is a bit of a difference
in what it sounds like. But I mean, it's an
internet conspiracy mystery thing, right. You never know if it's
somebody just messing with it or whatever. Hard to trust
things you find on the internet these days, especially in
the age of AI. It's just a mess anyway. So

(08:36):
this sound used to be faster, more high pitched. In
the seventies. Online people have called it like the buzzer
because of what it sounds like. And at some point
it went from one location to two and the sound
was transmitting from both of them, and the second was

(08:58):
near Moscow. So this first one near Saint Petersburg, second
one near.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Moss's is really weird.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Both broadcasting this weird sound, a bunch of sounds, strange
that it's been going on for so long, and at
first no one knew why. No one claimed it. It
was just this strange happening. And some sources stated that

(09:25):
once or twice a week, and some say every few years,
that there would be a man or woman that would
read out some words in Russian like dingy or farming specialists,
like random words like that, and they would throw in
some names, some numbers. It was just it didn't make

(09:47):
any sense.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
So like longing, rusted furnace, daybreak seventeen, benign do you
remember this. It's a long ago movie. It's the Civil
War movie. Yeah, the Trigger where it's obviously for the
Winter's I really thought that'd be funnier. I guess it's
like three years too late.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Well, the problem with you bringing that up is that's
literally in my script and you fucking ruined it. I'm
really annoyed because I was just like, it gives me
homecoming freight car vibes from Civil War. If you guys
aren't big into Marvel movies, fuck you. No. The Captain

(10:23):
America movies are great. Civil War is great.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Winter Soldier is my favorite Marvel movie.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, Winter Soldiers, which is the.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Second one, for those of you who don't know, it
is so good. It's the elevator scene movie. If you
don't know the elevator scene, what the fuck have you
been doing with your life?

Speaker 1 (10:40):
There are people out there that don't watch Marvel movies.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
That scene is worth watching. Just you can watch, you know,
Captain America to the Winter Soldier standalone by itself. Don't
watch anything else, just for the elevator scene. It's so iconic.
It really is.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
I agree.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Uh, it's it's like the speed of our day. It's
like if you slow down, this bus explode.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Of Yeah, Winter Soldiers very good. Civil War is like
an extension of Winter Soldier, I feel like because obviously
it focuses around the Winter Soldier. But yeah, in Civil War,
Zemo uses these words to brain.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
It's like he activates.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Yeah, he activates because the Winter Soldiers brainwashed, you know,
and so these are like his activation words. But that's
what this reminds me of, like somebody who's just out
there tossing out code words. It's just very strange or
or it also reminds me of that season of Stranger
Things where they have the radio station. They're hearing that

(11:43):
Russian radio station who is putting all those code words
over the radio that makes no sense to anyone.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
At the same time, he translated with a Russia to
English dictionary because these are the laziest spies of all time.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
So yeah, so it's this is what that kind of
reminds me of, that it's just some secret code radio
station out there. Some experts say that there really is
no information or underlying code in the signal. And this
is coming from people who are experts in this type
of espionage intelligence field, you know, and they can't figure

(12:22):
it out. And as years passed, these messages seemed to
get more frequent. They also determined that the signal was
not a recording, so it wasn't just yeah, so it
was right right, It's not just somebody just playing the
same thing over and over again. They determined that it
was generated manually. So this signal it operates at a

(12:46):
low short wave frequency. So compared to our modern wavelength
tech like phones and TV, this radio frequency has fewer waves,
and fewer waves means further transmission distance. So I'm not
a scientist. I don't deal with that sort of tech.

(13:07):
Maybe I should have gone to school for that sort
of tech and I could make boatloads of money in
some sort of research. But I don't know how accurate
these statements are. Again, you can't trust everything you read
on the internet, right, But if this signal can transmit

(13:27):
long distances and my phone doesn't even work in Costco
half the time, I think that's pretty impressive, you know.
So like today my phone, my phone can't work in
our conference room, but it can work. Like if I
stand close to the door of the outdoors, it doesn't.
It's so weird. I don't know why that is. I

(13:51):
feel like we have like a cell phone tower right outside.
I don't know. It still doesn't work. But these radio signals.
These short waves they travel across countries, like you can
hear it across the continent type of thing. And these
short waves are used by things like ships and planes.

(14:14):
You can send signals over the ocean. That's how far
these short waves can go, which I find.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Weird that.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
When they go along. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, it's based
on the wavelengths they're short. So in twenty ten, the
signal seemed to get a little bizarre, and I mean
more bizarre than the idea that there's a strange, constantly
running signal.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
I want to make more jokes, but I'm a friend
wants to steal more from your scripts.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Okay, what jokes are you gonna make?

Speaker 2 (14:46):
I was gonna say, like, is the signal starting to
turn into something that's like we've been trying to reach
you about.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I never make that joke. It is only ever you
who makes that joke.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Cool. So when you listen to this sound closely, this
is how they determined that it was generated manually. When
you listen closely, you can hear like phone conversations going
on in the background. You can hear random banging or
going around. It's as if someone just has a constantly
open microphone, okay, and so so I while researching this

(15:22):
and looking this up, I am a little bit confused
by if it's the second Once the second location popped up,
that that's when they started hearing these background sounds or
things like messages more often like they're coming from this
second Moscow location and not from the original. That was
just the buzzing with the horn.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
You know.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
So that's that's something that is up in the air
for me. But continuing on, it was after October twenty
ten that the station changed from the original Saint Petersburg
location to this new Moscow one. So if in twenty
ten it started getting more bizarre, I imagine it's because

(16:03):
it's from the second location and nothing has changed with
the first. So I don't know, it's it's very very weird,
and I guess that's part of the mystery, you know.
But this is when it took on the MDZHB Moniker.
So the new location was near Moscow, and turns out

(16:24):
it was like a Russian military base. Apparently a storm
in twenty ten brought in some dense fog and the
entire outpost cleared out in like ninety minutes. What them,
so it was like it was a military base. They
determined the signal it was coming from this military base.

(16:45):
Then in twenty ten, some storm came in and the
military base just cleared out.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
So a storm came in with fog and people are like,
there's something in.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
The fog or something. Yeah, and they left. They cleared
everything out within like ninety minutes. And it took some
effort in triangulation for people to discover the locations of
this transmission. Uh. And of course there are those who
are urban explorers and they had to go and find it.
And if you you've never heard of urban exploration, it's

(17:16):
it's when people go out to these man made structures
and explore them. And it's not necessarily all man made
like buildings and things like that. It's other things. It
could be old abandoned ruins, modern buildings like malls and
stuff like that. I've seen people go to like abandoned neighborhoods. Yeah,

(17:42):
but like since before four times, I guess it's they're
man made. But it doesn't have to be modern. It
doesn't have to be like a modern abandoned thing. Like
it's not always an amusement park that's been abandoned. It
can be a lot of different different things. Okay, Okay,
so I don't think caves count as urban exploration.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Okay, that makes sense because urban to me means like
dense city.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Yeah, it's just like you know, these man made structured
location things. I think we've watched a lot of videos
of urban exploration before. I like to watch ones where
it's like defunct land. I've watched that, those those that
channel that talks about like abandoned locations, theme parks, things

(18:30):
like that. I also watch random urban explorer videos, like
if it's an abandoned mansion, you know, and the people
just like dipped randomly, and like in the garage there's
still all of their cars and things like that, and
they're just covered in dirt and dust and mud and
blah blah blah because it's just been abandoned and left there.
But there's like Bentley's and Mercedes and things like that

(18:51):
in the garage, but it's just been left because they've
just abandoned everything. I love that shit.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
I can't imagine cars in the garage.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
But sometimes when you're fleeing the country, you leave all
your stuff.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Figure that government would come and take your shit.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
I don't know, but there's so many videos out there
where that's just how it is. I like the videos
where it's like an abandoned Japanese mansion type thing and
it's like it's haunted and then weird stuff happens in
the video. So I don't know, man, that's my jam.
Like I could sit there and just watch weird YouTube

(19:25):
videos of stuff like that. But yeah, abandoned mansions, abandoned
thief parks, that's my thing. I like watching videos on that.
But continuing on anyway, when Urban Explorers went to check
out the location in Moscow, which was the military base,
they saw that the base cleared out so quickly. Equipment

(19:46):
and things like that were just left littered all over
the base. They just left their equipment there, and while exploring,
they found a log that contained messages that had been
read over the signal supposedly supposedly supposedly. You know, I
don't know how real it is.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
I can't say I wasn't a caveat on that this
could all be bullshit. But this is probably a good
point right now to say, like, we don't know.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
It could it could be it could be real, it
could be made up.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
I'm here to tell you the story.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
And then you just said it could all be just
a setup by the Russian government that was just like
you know, the mic, it's just it's it was on purpose.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
You know, maybe someone ordered someone to leave the mic
on right before the fall of the ussr Oh Jesus,
and then they just left it off because there's like
fuck it, let's leave.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
So so people obviously are wondering, why is this the thing?
Why are they're broadcast that go on twenty four to
seven like this for decades? And there are those that
have theorized it's something being broadcasted by the Russian military,
And this one is a really popular theory. It started

(20:59):
around the end of the Cold War. That's when the
signal started. You know, the signal started around the end
of the Cold War. So it's natural for people to
put those things together, right. They've never come out to
admit this or claim ownership over this. The military never has.
One site I looked at said that they think that

(21:20):
it might be a quote unquote dead hand signal, like
if Russia gets hit by a nuclear attack or something
like that, an automatic trigger goes and retaliates and just
nukes the world, so I you know, I'm sorry, Like
if it stops, like if the signal stops, you know,

(21:41):
the dead hand, if you you have your finger on
the trigger, and if you die.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Speed God, this all makes sense, it all, It all.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Loops back to speed. Everything always loops back to speed.
I forgot that earlier said you said we slow down
this buscle explode.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Those of you who haven't seen Speed, it's not a
time to the bus anymore. He has like a bomb
where he's holding a stick and if he lets go
of the stick, it'll looksplode.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Speed is really like two movies in one.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Speed is amazing.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Speed is like you have the bus half of the
movie and then you know, Okay, if you've not seen Speed,
you're missing out. Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullocks, Sandy be
Super Young, super and what is his name? Is also

(22:29):
in it. His his friend Jeff Daniels is in it.
Love him, love him, love him. In that movie Heartbreak anyway,
I know, but it's so old. If you haven't seen it,
what are you doing? You should have seen Speed by now.
But yeah, there's the bust portion of the movie and
then there's the subway portion of you have.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
To take a shot. Here's a drinking game for speed.
Take a shot. Every time Keanu Reeves yells if you
slow down, this bust will eksplode. He yells it approximately
one hundred and forty times. No, he does. He's just
yelling at constantly because he doesn't want anything.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
To go wrong. It's a very good movie, guys. It's
like charming and action packed and thrilling and got some
romance in it.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Got some romance and Sandy b have tons of on.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Screen, so much chemistry. I could just we should just
go watch that movie right now.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Let's just stop its.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
Anytime it's on the TV, guys, we literally will just
put Speed on.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
I literally yell to anyone in the house, everyone shut
the fuck up, and I put the remote down and
we all watch.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
Uh anyway, Okay, so yes, dead hand signal is you
have your finger on the trigger. If somebody kills you
and you die, your finger comes off the trigger and
it blows. So that's the whole point of this quote
unquote dead hand signal is if the signal goes out,
nuclear war across the world, hap retaliation retaliation. Okay, obviously

(23:58):
that's a very stream way of taking the existence of
this signal automatically going to nuclear war's very extreme end
of the spectrum.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
It is very cold wars, though, because that's what everyone
was worried about during the Cold War, Right, it makes.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Sense it could be something that extreme, or it could
be something that isn't as instadathy as nuclear decimation. You know,
it doesn't have to be murder, instant murder. There was
an article that stated it could be a scientific tool,
so something that is used to measure the distance of

(24:35):
the particle layer for radar systems, and that's why they
use that specific wavelength to measure the longer the signal
takes to return, the higher that layer is much less doomsday,
more science. This however, does not explain the military bunker,
and there are no papers or reports on the results

(24:56):
of this test, so that one's a little harder to
be like, yeah, yeah, that's the answer, or that is
the answer, and it's just so.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Like benign that people don't want to accept it.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Right, Maybe it really is used for espionage, so it
wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility entirely, as
quote unquote number stations have been used in the past
as a way to deliver orders in times of war
or situations like spycraft, which was a really big thing
during the Cold War. And these number stations are stations

(25:31):
that literally send out signals in actual numbers, so they
just you know, talk off all these numbers or rattle
off all these numbers, and within the numbers is a code.
But then again this one they say words and things
like that.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
So the joke I stole from you here is this
where you were gonna have it?

Speaker 3 (25:50):
No, no, no, it was.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
It was as soon as I told you I was.
I literally stole it right before you stole it right
out of my freaking mouth.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
The best part is I didn't even read your script
to do that.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
We're just we're so in sync. Yeah, we noticed that
this weekend, Like we literally read each other's sandwiches.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
At the same time.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
I don't know why we we're like this, but anyway, yes,
these number signals. That's not necessarily the case with the buzzer,
because you know, it's it's not all numbers. It's a
sound that just goes. But could it be something similar
maybe with the code words and things like that, But

(26:32):
why would they be broadcasting that same buzzing sound for
so long? If it were really a code, because the
sound is like the same pattern it figuring out what
figuring out what that code would be is too easy.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
That it's what it reminds me of. And I know
you haven't seen this movie is Independence Day, because they
find a signal within like the TV signals that's being
used to coordinate the attack. Essentially, what happens in Independence
Day is the Aliens show. Everyone's like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Boiling this movie.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
It's from nineteen ninety four. Deal with it. I saw
a car today that's an id dot for and I
was like, that will always mean Independence Day. I don't
know who the fuck thought of that, but they're an idiot.
Like this car is named Independence Day. I don't know
what maker model it was except that it's inn ID four. Anyways,
there's a signal buried within our own satellites. They just
use their own satellites, put a signal into it. Someone
finds it, Jeff Goldblum, of course, he's beautiful, and he

(27:27):
realizes that it's like a returning signal. So it just
makes like a boom sound, but it's ending, it's cycling
back on itself, and that's how they realize like they
have so much time to evacuate the cities. So I
wonder if it's a very long countdown.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Maybe so, I don't know. Maybe that's where Independence Day
got it from. Ooh, and maybe it's waiting for a
World War three situation to get brought into action. And
I say this because there is someone who stated that
on January twenty fourth, twenty thirteen, there was a specific

(28:02):
message that aired on the station while he was listening
from his home in the Baltic States. And for those
of you that don't know, because I also had to
look this up, I had no idea. The area of
the Baltic States are Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Apparently those
are the Baltic States. Uh is it really?

Speaker 2 (28:22):
I don't think so what it actually?

Speaker 1 (28:25):
I don't know anything about doctor Doom. I don't know anything,
Like you just know he's.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
Dope as fuck. It's actually Laviia. I think it might
be made up for the Marvel.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
I was gonna say, most Marvel aren't those like no, no, No,
DC's made up cities.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Marvel real Marvel's rooted in reality, which makes it easier
to connect to.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
So it makes sense. I'm a for the record, but
I love Gotham. I think Gotham's cool discussion on the episode.
Whether Gotham is Chicago or New York or whatever. I
don't even remember what ended up being the answer.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
I think in Joker Too, they wound up stating that
it was New Jersey, but I can't I can't remember.
I've kind of tried to wipe everything about Joker Too
from my mind since I've read the reviews.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Oh yeah, we haven't watched it, you know, America for that,
you know we have watched again though. Twisters good if
you haven't watched it, so good.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Also, we're watching Agatha All Along, which is incredibly really good, y'all,
Like if you have watched some of the stuff, if
you watched WandaVision, definitely watch Agatha All Along because it
is excellent.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Definitely watch Twisters. We watched Trap, Trap was actually pretty good.
As one more, we watched Speak No Evil, the one
with James McAvoy in it.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
He's scary in that movie.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
He is scary in that movie, but also very enjoyable movie.
I think we haven't really seen a bad movie in
a while, and I'd like to keep it that way.
So we won't be watching Joker anytime. I know we're
way off Joker too already seen that.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
I know we're way off track yet again. But if
I could just toss out a Halloween movie, if you're
all to watch Tarot. We watched Taro. I really fucking
liked it.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Actually, it was like she with a kid from Spider Man.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
I don't know, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
yah yeah. I enjoyed. It's just like a cheesy horror flick.
We're's like, oh yeah, I get the premise, and it
just kind of sticks to its own rule set. The
characters aren't that dumb, and U it's on Netflix. It
was enjoyable. I was just like, I really i'd watched
that again. And I don't say that about a lot
of horror movies. I'm usually like those people were idiots,
I'm glad they're dead, and I don't want to watch
this again. But in the case of Tara, I was like, oh,

(30:33):
pretty good. It's a fun movie to watch for Halloween,
Like if you just want to watch one that's not
too high stakes or too fucking crazy. I enjoyed Taro
five out of ten.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
But I enjoyed it five out of ten.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
No, it's like six and a half seven out of ten.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
You know what I watched that was like a ten
out of ten. What's that Mexico GP.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Yeah, she has to bring in she has to ruin
it by bringing in fucking f one.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
It was such a good race anyway. So this Baltic
States area is a bit of a distance from Russia.
And I mean our radio stations in here in the
US stop working like when you cross straight straight I
mean when you cross straight lines. No, our radio stations

(31:18):
stop working when when you cross state lines, like going
from California to Vegas, you have to change your radio
even before that. Like it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
It's just like a specific area has a broadcast distance,
you know, like if you were to drive north in
California and stay in California, you'd have to change your radio.
Like you get away from the San Diego stations, you
get to like the Temecula stations, you get to the
La stations. You just keep going north and the keep
getting the static. You keep having to click scan. This
is why I recommend YouTube music for those of you
out there who don't have a subscripent. No I'm kidding,

(31:46):
they don't sponsor.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
I wish to do if we could get sponsored by
like XM Radio or.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Something sthing to the other day and they're like, you
qualified for two and a half three years of XM Radio.
I was like, damn are dark or like.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
They're not doing you know, Spotify. If you want to
sponsor us, that's cool too, amazing anyway. Anyway, so you know, granted,
our states are much bigger than a lot of countries. Yeah,
it's still our Our radio stations don't go that far.
But this person heard the phrase they they were listening

(32:21):
to this this station and they heard the phrase Command
one thirty five issued, which gives order sixty And for
those of you that don't know, order sixty.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Six is what are you doing with your client?

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Order sixty six is where they tell all of what
the clones to murder all the Jedi.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Kill the Jedi. It's the order given to kill the Jedi.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
Yeah, it's just.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Yeah, that's one of the saddest historical, real non fiction
events to ever take place.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
If you are into Star Wars, you know Order sixty
six is. And so the fact that this man one
thirty five issue thing gives the same vibe. It's just
like so creepy, so weird. Maybe they killed all the
Jedi and we don't know because we're ignorant. I don't know,

(33:15):
but uh, it's a supposed message for combat readiness, supposedly,
and I don't have any confirmation of whether or not
this is true or real, but it would be absolutely
nuts if it were. If it were really like, hey, everyone,
get ready, this is gonna happen. I mean, remember a

(33:35):
few years ago when Hawaii had that nuclear scare.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Marint text message that was supposed to be a test
telling everyone this is not a test, you're all about
to die. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
I wonder if it's that kind of thing where it's
just a test of their system and whether you know
they can get the message out of like hey, combat
readiness type thing. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
It sounds super similar to like how we use the
emergency broadcast system, but we only tested at certain times.
It's almost as if the emergency broadcast system had like
one dedicated channel that's just been like that fucking noise,
that emergency broadcast noise. Yeah, just for like thirty forty years,
which is pretty fucking creepy.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Uh, Except it's not a beep. It's a buzz.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
I'm saying, that's our noise.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Oh yeah, yeah yeah, our our emergency broadcast system noise
is really annoying when it pops up.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
It's meant to get your attention, so an unnerve you.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
It just makes me want to turn it off. About
your candle. Okay, So an image was posted on the
Russian interwebs that seems to back up the military communications theory,
so Adam will post it later. I sent it to you,
but I don't know how far up in our messages
it is. It's pretty far, so it's the picture is
like a small framed paper that refers to a broadcasting frequency,

(34:56):
and in it's in the administrations slash enlistment office of
the Russian Army, like it's in their administration slash enlistment
office one of their branches. I don't know. But it
refers to four thousand, six hundred and twenty five killer hertz,
which is the same frequency as the UVB seventy six signal.

(35:19):
So people are saying like it's just a military signal.
There's obviously it's. It's posted up there. It refers to
the signal, so it's not a secret, you know, And
of course None of these are perfect explanations. I don't
explain it very well because again not a scientist. It's
all just hypothetical prediction and being able to be heard

(35:42):
on the other side of the world from its original station.
It just gets people's brains going. People are like, why
am I hearing this? You know, what is it? And
why does it? Why is it being going for decades?
It's just fascinating. I want to know, just tell us.
You know, it's harder to believe in a weird mystery
thing when there's a physical base that it's coming out

(36:06):
of and you can see it, but still pretty weird
that it's still going. A source I read even says
that there may be a third broadcasting station location. Now
it's not a very popular idea. Like, people that hear
about this third location are like, I don't think so,

(36:26):
I don't think it has anything to do with.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
This two two I could buy three yeah nah.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
But but yeah, so anyway, that's uh, the tale of
this strange radio SAT.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
It's weird because you never know how much of it is,
Like I want to know what it is versus I
want to believe.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know what I mean. Yeah, And
the fact that that people are saying, you know, it's
posted up at a military base, like I want.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
To find stuff from people who are not American, where
they're checking stuff that we know as Americans is just weird,
benign American nonsense where they develop a conspiracy theory based
off of that, you know what I mean, Like, there's
gotta be something out there that's like our random just
consistent signal.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
What is the five guys?

Speaker 2 (37:08):
Yeah, like whatever, it could just be something super super
random that, like other people have developed like a conspiracy
theory for I think it'll be fascinating to go through
some of those. If any of you have heard of
theories like that, send them my way. I am super
curious because this was very fascinating. I'm really curious what
this sounds like. I'm definitely gonna make sure that it
was put into that part of the episode earlier. So

(37:28):
if you did hear that it worked, hooray and uh yeah,
good topic, Robin. Thanks all right, So before we wrap up,
it is Halloween in case you're listening to this on
the day it releases, and I wanted to do something
just a little special, so we talked about having a
double stacked topic, and I was just like, I really

(37:49):
want to just read some fucking spooky stories, but I
don't necessarily want to dig into our story time. So
I was just like, let's go see what's out there.
And I ventured into a ghost story subreddit and I
was just like like, all right, you know what, I'm
gonna pick three stories and I'm just gonna fucking read
these things. And that's what we're gonna do. We're gonna
do a quick little like gather around the campfire. It's Halloween,
Let's tell each other some spooky stories. And I'm gonna

(38:10):
tell you some stories from some folks out there on
the interwebs. And you know that they're telling the truth
because this stuff is coming from the internet and you
can't lie on the internet. Everyone knows that some of
these are asking for advice, in which case this is
kind of be like my brother and My brother and
Me style segment. But not all of them are. I
see Robin's eyes moving right now, So hopefully she doesn't
read these and spoil it, because I'm hoping that she

(38:31):
can respond to these.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
As I read them, I'm already editing it like grammatically
in my head.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
Oh, yeah. Also, people who post on Reddit have no
punctuation or commas. It's just an absolute nightmare. But I'll
do what I can and i'll edit it. So this
first one that I'm gonna read is from someone named
sidecar Betty, which sounds hot, pretty hot, and it's called
saw coworker who passed. And this is from one day ago.
So all three of these are very recent, by the way,

(38:57):
So I picked stuff that like just got posted.

Speaker 1 (38:59):
Okay, you didn't want to go back in time.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
No, no, no, I want these to be like now,
all right, So this one goes like this. I just
found the subreddit because I really have nowhere else to
discuss this. M sidecar Betty, you should have emailed storytime
at scaries dot com and you could have talked to
us about your own homegrown horror. If you have one
of those, please feel free to send.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
It to us. All I can hear is like that
song Oh Black Baby, sidecar Betty.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
I'm a night shift nurse. Sounds hot. We recently had
a coworker passed tragically, but I'm newer to the hospital
and only knew him because he transported patients and he
was always in and out of all the departments. I
didn't even know his name. What Sunday evening, someone mentioned
his passing, and when I asked for a description, I
knew exactly who it was. He had a very distinct look, walk,

(39:46):
and air about him. I had a fleeting thought of
how sad the news was, but I didn't really know him,
so I got busy and never really thought of it again.
The next morning, when my shift was done, I took
the employee elevator to the ground floor and to an
area mostly just for staff. As I exited the elevator
to head right down the hall, I saw the guy
who I thought had died just to my left, a

(40:07):
few feet away. I glanced at him and thought, oh good,
he's not the one everyone was describing. Must be someone else.
Then I headed the other direction and went home. That night,
back at work, people were again discussing him, and I
finally asked if anyone had a picture of him. One
of my coworkers pulled up his Facebook and my stomach sank.
It was, in fact the guy I saw in the hall,

(40:27):
one hundred percent, not a single doubt, so I blurted out,
I saw him this morning. When I got off the elevator.
My coworker said, yeah, that sounds about right for this place.
He didn't seem surprised at all, but I'm shook. I
can't reconcile this. I know who I saw without any doubt,
but I also can't believe I saw a ghost. My
hospital is old and known for excellent employee retention, so

(40:49):
I asked several longtime employees if there is anyone else
who works in his department that looks like him. We
wear specific colors for each department, i e. Blue for nurses,
gray for tranport slash radiology, black for our tea, et cetera.
I don't know what art is. They all said, there
is no one else who looks like this man. Anyways,
I'm baffled, Why me, why him? And why can't I

(41:11):
accept the possibility that I did see him. I'm fascinated
by this type of stuff, but I've certainly never encountered
anything paranormal or remotely this bizarre, and I can't talk
about it at work because it sounds insane. I guess
I just needed to get it off my chest.

Speaker 1 (41:28):
I know I've mentioned this numerous times on this podcast,
that I think ghosts are or can be sometimes a
reflection of time, and we.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
Usually mention it in the sense of like a scar,
like something traumatic that happened. But we've also mentioned how
like ghosts move through walls because they're really just walking
the floor plan that existed during their time. So it's
something maybe like along the lines of.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
This, because it doesn't say he died at work. Did
he die at work?

Speaker 2 (42:01):
They don't say. They don't specify how he dies, So
why is he at work?

Speaker 1 (42:04):
It's because it's something like an echo of his image, Yes,
that he's he just did so often. That was what
he did. He was at the hospital, he worked every day,
because that's how nurse life is. You guys are stuck
there in the hospital so so many hours.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
Out of the day. It can be surrounded by death.
And you, yeah, exactly, which is why your coworker was like,
that doesn't surprise me at all for this place.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
Yeah, because I'm sure you know, the walls of a
hospital have just seen a lot. Yeah, and having ghosts
quote unquote ghosts or these entities that just seem to
be wandering the halls all the time, it's not a
shock because it sees so much death. The hospital sees

(42:47):
so much death, so I just think this seeing this
person may have been an echo of his existence through time.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
If I may offer the skeptical take on this, it
does state that this is the end of the person shift.
This is the end of sidecar betty shift. They could
have been very tired and saw someone who looked maybe
not even similar, but like right shape build, and didn't
really look directly at them, just kind of looked out
of the corner of their eyes, and because that person's

(43:16):
face had been kind of in their mind, yeah, yeah,
like your mind kind of made up what the face
looked like rather than actually looking at it, and you're like, oh,
that's him, It's fine, he's not the guy.

Speaker 1 (43:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:26):
And then it could also be that, yes, you are insane,
We're welcome. No, welcome to the club. We'll send you
a cake. So I will say. I was like, I
want to see what some people's takes are on Reddit.
I wonder if Reddit is as crazy as I remember
it being. And this is the first sentence of the
first comment that replies to this, Your third eye is open.

(43:46):
Open is capitalized. I stopped reading comments immediately after reading
that sentence, So all right, that is the first one.
We have two more. Let's move on. All right, We're
moving on. And this next one is written by someone
named Anonymous with a bunch of like interspersed noice an
a mouse with an O and a five instead of
a zero and a five instead of an O and

(44:06):
ans and you, I doubt you want to look them up.
The subject is I had two ghost friends as a child. Interesting.
It goes like this as the title reads, I had
two ghost friends as a child. Wow, that title really
prepared us for what the story was going to be about.
I will recount the memory as I explained it to
my mother. When I was in middle school, my brother, mother,

(44:26):
and I went out to dinner one night. We wore
a military family, so we were just recounting and discussing
all the places we had lived so far and the
people we had met along the way. I brought up
the very first house I ever lived in and the
two friends I had there. My mom had this strange
look on her face, and I asked what was wrong.
She asked me, tell me what these kids looked like.

(44:48):
They were twins or at least very similar age. The
girl wore a sort of bonnet with a little dress.
I don't remember shoes. The boy wore overalls and a
little shirt. They didn't look the same as me. My mother,
who is very much a believer in the paranormal, said
those children I remembered were actually ghosts. I was shocked,
to say the least. I had remembered spending many days

(45:08):
with these two kids. I told my mom how they
used to tell me bedtime stories, and I remembered exactly
what my room looked like at the time. I remember
the furniture I had, the position of my crib, and
how the light from the hall I would shine into
my room, and where the door was in relation to it.
I remember because these two kids would sit where the
light came in and talk to me until I fell

(45:29):
asleep every night. That's cy My mom told me about
how I'd play with them, or how when she would
give me a bath, I would look over her shoulder
and wave to them, what the frick, which might be
one of the most horrifying things I've ever heard a
kid do.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
Dude, I have to go to bed after this, and
I don't want to.

Speaker 2 (45:46):
I'm scared. It's okay. The last one I'm pretty sure
is about skinwalkers. So what the fuck? No, I found
a skinwalker story that was so fake that everyone of
the comments was like, oh, you could have at least
faked this bitter. All right, we're going to keep going
on this one. She just talked about how she was
waving over her mom's shoulder while getting bats when she
was a kid. She said she had no fear of them,
as nothing evil was happening there. She noticed that I

(46:07):
stopped talking about them or to them, and she asked
me one day what happened. I apparently told her that
their mother had finally come and found them, and they
all left together and I never saw them again.

Speaker 1 (46:16):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
I remember the way they looked, although I had never
been able to find any information on them. The house
we lived in at the time was military housing on
Fort Bragg and the land was older. They looked like
TV static, but with depth. I remember explaining to my
entire family when I was maybe five, they looked like
the colors you see when you rub your eyes too
hard or too long. I feel I never get to

(46:38):
share my paranormal experiences with most people, so I thought
I would share here. Thanks for reading interesting. Thank you,
Anon of Mouse.

Speaker 1 (46:47):
I feel like it's anon a mouse.

Speaker 2 (46:49):
God, damn it, you're right, thank you aon a mouse?

Speaker 1 (46:51):
Uh. Anyway, Yeah, you know, I think a lot of
people have these experiences. We have had stories about imaginary
friends things like that. It just seems so specific, like
this is what they looked like, and the fact that
they were fuzzy.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
One this one has that I've not heard another story
before is that the mom showed up and took the kids. Like, oh,
they found their mom and they left. Yeah, that's so sweet.
I have not heard something like that before. It reminds
me of this old Robert Downey junior movie that I've
referenced before about how he has imaginary friends. That movie
is amazing, but that's not it and they're actually ghosts

(47:29):
and then he starts to see them again as an adult,
and he realizes that people that can see ghosts are
there to help them finish their baggage or their like
unfinished business that they can pass on. So he decides,
since he can see them again, he is going to
help them. And it's just a really nice movie. But yeah,
I thought that one was super interesting, So I figured
I tossed that one in the middle because there's one.

Speaker 1 (47:50):
More, which one is the one with Nicole Kidman the
Others where she drowned the kids. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I
never seen it.

Speaker 2 (47:56):
Everyone spoiled that movie for me so many times. I'm like,
I don't need to watch this movie now, which is
a very interesting premise, and it would have been a
nice twist to watch if all those people hadn't ruined.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
It for me. Oh my bad, it wasn't me, It
was not you.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
Oh no, it's been ruined for me way before it. Yeah, yeah,
all right. The last one is from someone named Okay
Willingness three three ninety eight, and it goes like this,
or excuse me. The title is are me and my
friends being haunted by the same entity across the state?
What should we do? Okay, which is basically the TLDR
Let's go. It goes like this, all of my friends
nights seem to have been visited by something similar advice

(48:30):
slash insight question mark. Okay, So I would love either
some advice or insight on what's going on right now.
I've always been kind of an intuitive, sensitive person, but
I've never really had any real encounters worth noting until
somewhat recently. Last week, I jolted awake multiple times throughout
the night and felt slash saw a shadow figure in
my room. My room was pitch black, so it was

(48:52):
difficult to see, but I was still able to feel
a presence and somewhat see it standing in my room.
Each time I was jolted away throughout the night, it
seemed like it was getting closer and closer. No, no,
no sleep with the lights on at that point. I'm
not one to really have nightmares or sleep paralysis or
anything like that, so this was really out of the
normal for me, So I told my two best friends.

(49:13):
The next morning. After I told my friends, one of
them told me the exact same thing happened to her
the same night. Oh no, I thought it was pretty creepy,
but just kind of wrote it off as some weird coincidence,
that's what happens to people that die in movies. But
this morning, my other friend in our trio said almost
the exact same thing happened to her last night, as

(49:33):
well as her roommate, who I've never even met, and
she woke up with a really bad headache. Another thing
to note is we don't live anywhere near each other.
I'm at college at the moment, and live almost three
hours away from both of them. We don't have anything
in common that would make sense for this to happen
to all of us except for the fact that their
friends talked about it. I don't know i e. Mutuals

(49:54):
slash family members that have passed on ghostly encounters, and
we don't even speak about stuff like that, especially not
as of late, for anything about this to make sense.
I would love some advice or any insight on why
exactly this could be happening, because I'm kind of worried
it could be a bad omen or something. It just
feels very eerie that this would happen to all of
us so close together when none of us have ever

(50:15):
really experienced anything like this.

Speaker 1 (50:17):
Maybe it's like a final destination thing, and you guys
should not come together for an.

Speaker 2 (50:21):
Event that's not what a final destination's about.

Speaker 1 (50:23):
Okay, Well, like they all so in File Destination. I
want to say three. They all come together at the
fair at the end of the But the.

Speaker 2 (50:33):
Whole point of final Destination is that they cheated death.
Unless this together, unless this person, Yeah, but that's how
it starts. Unless this person and their two friends. Three people,
I think total cheated death. Then that doesn't hold water here.
So what I think is odd is that they kind
of state that they had this happened to them. It
creeped them out, so they told their two friends. Then

(50:55):
one of their friends said, the same thing happened to
me last night. Then the other friends said, oh my god,
it happened to me and my roommate. So for me,
it's it's not a The first two happened independently on
the same night. That is super creepy. The other two
seem like the fear of what had happened, and that
creepy ass coincidence of ghost Man hitting these two people

(51:16):
at the same time in different locations, like suddenly had
that same experience. Basically, the second wave of experiences may
have come from the fact that they heard about it.

Speaker 1 (51:25):
Ah those first Freddy Krueger.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
The first two specifically, that's super fucking weird. So the
skeptical emmy is like, maybe they're just saying that to
make you feel better or they want attention. But realistically,
if this is exactly what it says is happening, that
is super weird. I would get a webcam and set
it up to record you while you stream to your

(51:47):
hard drive so you can watch everything that happens while
you're sleeping, and I would have all four people do
that and make sure it's saving locally to your hard
drive so you guys can review the footage in the
mornings in case this continues to happen. If it's an
isolated incident, then that that is weird, but hopefully it
has passed. If it keeps happening, then definitely set yourself
up a webcam. So that's my advice, because I am

(52:07):
very curious. They also posted that seven days ago and
I don't see a follow up on it. Oh interesting.
I was just saying, like they haven't said like, oh,
it's happened again.

Speaker 1 (52:16):
I thought you were going to say, like they're dead
something like that.

Speaker 2 (52:20):
No, I'm not jumping to conclusions on that. I'm fairly
certain this person is still alive.

Speaker 1 (52:25):
But you never know, you know, how you know, you
click on their username and see if they've posted anything
in another thread edit subreddit, and you'll know if they're alive.
That's the last thing they've posted.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
They're dead. Well, now I know.

Speaker 1 (52:39):
There you go, guys, Maybe this is actually something that
really does bother them, that actually happened, and they're like,
I have to post about it, and you know, yeah.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
It could be I will say their cake Day, which
I imagine is the day they started their Reddit account.
I think I've heard that in the past. I'm not
a redditor, was about a year ago to the day
they posted nice, so it could be confused. Maybe it
was a ghost guy showing up to give them a
happy birthday on their cakeday. So AnyWho. Yeah, those are
