(00:00):
This is Jen, and I am just about
ready to put up another Shattered Soulstone podcast
for those of you who are still paying
attention to it. And I've got a lot
of stuff. There's stuff from Diablo Immortal. There's
stuff from Blizzard. There's some other stuff that
doesn't really connect
specifically to it, but kind of. So here's
where we're gonna start.
And there's a lot of Diablo Immortal stuff
(00:21):
going on in here. So here we go.
Before we get to the rest of it,
there is a season 34 in Diablo 3
that is live right now. It was posted
on
X or Twitter, whatever you like to call
it.
And it's, it looks like it's going to
be pretty good. I haven't really delved into
much of this yet. I will when I'm
done with this episode.
(00:42):
And, yeah, it's, it's season 34. It's live
now and it's, started on January 31st. So
we're not missing too much because today's, you
know, February 1st. In addition,
Blizzard Entertainment
posted
some relief for people whose houses were impacted
by the wildfires in Southern California. I am
in California. I am not near that vicinity
(01:03):
that had this happen. So this one is
titled Blizzard Entertainment
Donates
USD $1,000,000
to Direct Relief for wildfire impacted communities in
Southern California. This is from January 2023, and
there's just a little bit of stuff in
here.
The recent fires in the Greater Los Angeles
area have had a devastating impact on so
(01:24):
many lives, including friends, loved ones, colleagues,
and members of our player communities.
In the face of such hardship, we're committed
to supporting those affected.
To help provide support to wildfire impacted communities
in Southern California,
Blizzard Entertainment is donating USD
$1,000,000 to Direct Relief. This donation will support
(01:45):
Direct Relief's efforts in providing immediate and long
term aid and resources
to impacted residents,
community health centers, and first responders.
Our hearts remain with those affected both in
the immediate need for relief and the continuing
journey ahead,
towards, sorry, a long term recovery.
Diablo has a thing about the vessel of
(02:06):
hatred
on January 30. It went up on, Axe
Twitter, whatever. And,
so this is what they wrote. Hell welcomes
all.
Thank you to the gaming accessibility
conference for recognizing Diablo 4's achievements in making
sanctuary accessible to all players. Below that is
a screenshot
(02:27):
of the game accessibility
conference.
Best blind and low vision accessibility goes to
Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred. And I think
that's really cool because there are people who
play video games that they're into and they
wanna do, but sometimes
the game they choose, which is not particularly
this one is Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred.
Sometimes they're not gonna be able to see
(02:48):
it, or maybe it's gonna be harder for
them to do. So,
to have this
Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred
being more accessible to people that may have,
maybe legally blind or different things like that.
It's really cool that they're doing this. They
actually won the game accessibility accessibility
conference.
Best blind and low vision accessibility was kind
(03:09):
of the
title that he was given. So I think
that's really cool. Okay. So on January 10,
there's a little bit more here. I did
say there was the
anyway, I'll just get into it. So season
34 is Lights Calling. This is of course
for Diablo 3.
And,
it was supposed to start on January 22,
but they moved it to January 31,
(03:31):
which would have been yesterday.
So here's what we have on this.
There's a season theme. There's,
I'll just read it to you.
Okay. So season theme, looking to turn the
tide of an unremitting war between light and
darkness, the angels of the high heavens have
embedded a token of their righteousness in sanctuary.
Cunning Nephilim seeking an advantage in combat will
(03:53):
undergo an angelic trial, crystalizing a symbol of
their morality into pure, other word worldly
perfection.
The specific celestial force imbued within by the
divine is unknown,
an answer waiting to be sought on the
battlefield.
Go forth, Nephilim.
Season 34
reintroduces
light's calling.
Valiant Nephilim who recover angelic crucibles, a new
(04:17):
consumable item, may use them to sanctify any
equippable
legendary
item, infusing it with 1 of 3 new
class specific powers at random. We wanted to
use the angelic crucibles to lean into the
expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective
prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The high
heavens are home to ethereal splendor bursting with
(04:39):
boundless radiance. We wanted to provide players with
the taste of untainted power as doled out
from heaven itself. Then we have the cosmetic
rewards. So for this one, in season 34,
awards originally available from season 10 are returning.
In addition to the head and shoulders
slots of the exclusive conqueror set, you'll be
able to earn the black soulstone themed portraits
(05:01):
and the scholarly lore master pennant first
introduced in season 10. There's pictures of those.
However, we know it's nice to have something
new to aim for if you've been if
you've participated in previous seasons. We're continuing to
provide new end of journey rewards as introduced
in season 17
with 2 new cosmetic ones for those who
complete the entirety of the season journey. Prove
(05:23):
your worth along the shades of the Nephilim
and complete the season 34 guardian journey to
earn the book of Cain Pet
and the lost civilization
portrait frame. So the book of Cain Pet
is literally a book and it's got, you
know, it's a walking book. It has arms.
It's holding a staff. It has a colorful
gold embedded thing on the front of the
(05:44):
book and a little bit on the back
and scrolls on its back. It's pretty neat.
And then the portrait frame
is,
kind of it's like green and gold
and has some stuff on it. So there's
that. If you want to hear about the
rewards for this one, here we go.
Season journey rewards. If you've been diligently slaying
demons before and reached conqueror in the season
journey each time, you've surely accrued a few
(06:06):
extra stash tabs. You'll earn one additional tab
each season by finishing the conqueror tier or
a maximum of 5.
Guardian of sanctuary, finish a level 70 Nephilim
rift on torment
13, I think it is, difficulty within 5
minutes.
That's that's interesting. Gem of my life, level
3 legendary gems to level 55.
(06:28):
All I do is win, complete 2 conquest
this season. Life goes on, kill Magda at
level 70 in under 15 seconds on torment
13 difficulty.
Money ain't a thang, t h a n
g.
Slay greed on torment 13 difficulty.
Treasure goblins outside of Nephilim rifts will sometimes
open portals to greed's domain, the vault. Take
(06:49):
u there, just a letter u in the
middle. Reach greater rift level 60 solo. Greater
rift keystones could be obtained from any Nephilim
rift guardian.
Power amplification.
Use kunai's cube to augment an ancient legendary
item with a level of 50 plus gem.
And cubic reconfiguration.
Use kunai's cube to reforge a legendary gem.
(07:11):
For the seasonal conquest,
seasonal conquests are additional goals you can complete
as part of our season journey to earn
all the cosmetic rewards you'll need to complete
at least 3 of the conquests below. The
challenges are available in season that are available
in season 34 include sprinter and speed racer
task you with completing acts 1 through 4
at max level in under 1 hour. Wanna
(07:32):
go fast while killing thing? Boss mode in
Worlds Apart are right up your alley. On
a Good Day and I Can't Stop are
making a return if leveling your legendary gems
is more your thing. And finally,
if you're keen to prove your mastery of
various class sets, years of war and dynasty
will be returning along with master of the
universe and master of sets. Best of luck.
And then there's Hadrick's
(07:53):
gift.
So I'm just gonna go through what it
is. If you're playing a barbarian, you get
horde of the 90 savages.
The crusader has aegis of valor. The demon
hunter has gears of dreadlands.
Monk has patterns of justice.
Witch doctor has monk Dougu's regalia. Wizard has
typhoons fail, and the necromancer has masquerade of
the burning carnival. Scooting over to Diablo Immortal,
(08:15):
we have a thing that was on, posted
on X or Twitter. I still think of
it as Twitter.
As Tong Xi's renewal, it's a lunar year
event play now on February 12th. So that's
coming up. You can't play it today because
today is February 1st.
So you'll get there if you want to
do that. And it says complete tasks, defeat
new monsters, and earn rewards
(08:37):
with our limited time event celebrating
Lunar New Year, Tang Xi's renewal.
Play now until
February 12th. Oh, okay. We can play it
now. That's great. I didn't it's sometimes they
put in things and I'm like, I think
they mean later, but no, it's it's there.
Also for Diablo Immortal, do not gaze directly
into the serpent's eye for you may never
(08:58):
return from its stare. Celebrate the year of
the snake with our celestial serpents phantom market
available until February 12. And more from Diablo
Immortal, happy year of the snake from Diablo
Immortal. Celebrate
with our Tong Xi's renewal event available now
until February 12th. And another Diablo Immortal 1,
for those of you that play, it's almost
(09:19):
a Lunar New Year and celebrations have come
to sanctuary. Visit the Wolfsong
Tavern in Westmarch during Tong Xi's renewal to
join the festivities.
And one more, upgrade your gems like never
before during our gem surge event. From now
until February 13th, you can earn polished jade
to upgrade your legendary gems all the way
(09:40):
to 5 star quality. Play now in Diablo
Immortal. Diablo 4 has a thing here called
pursue Celestial Fortune in Lunar Awakening. So it's
kind of as I've noticed when I've started
putting together this stuff, there's a lot of
things that overlap. Like the Diablo
Immortal stuff will have some things that also
kind of match
sort of the Diablo 4 stuff. So, you
(10:02):
know, it's kind of neat. So here's what
we've got. Pursue celestial fortune and lunar awakening.
The long awaited celestial journey has returned from
February 4, 10 AM to February 18, 10
AM PST.
Players in both seasonal and eternal realms can
bask in the moonlight of the lunar awakening
limited time event. A mysterious phenomenon is manifesting
(10:24):
throughout the shrines of sanctuary, enchanting them with
immense and prosperous power.
Enchanting
them
with immense and prosperous power. Celebrators
attribute this behavior to their ancestor, blessing them
from beyond the grave in commemoration of this
joyous occasion.
Activate any shrine found in sanctuary,
non Hantu included, to earn 100% bonus experience
(10:45):
multiplicative for 2 minutes and an enchanted power,
all while earning ancestral favor reputation.
Lunar awakening has dawned. And there are pictures
throughout this.
Everything I'm going to talk about today will
be in the show notes and you can
check it out. To fully enjoy the revelry
of lunar awakening, travel to Ked Bardo and
head to the northern section of town. Once
(11:05):
you're there, you'll meet Ying Yu, the leader
of the lunar night market.
This market is your central hub for lunar
awakening, where you'll redeem your ancestral favor reputation
for unceasing gifts from the ancestors caches and
decorate lunar renewed
renewal themed rewards. Lunar shrines are spread throughout
sanctuary. Fight your way through both dungeons and
(11:27):
the wilderness,
activating lunar shrines and slaying monsters to earn
copious amounts of ancestral favor reputation.
Lunar shrines and ancestors favor. Lunar shrines with
the auspicious powers granted to them by the
returning spirits of ancestors.
During lunar awakening, all shrines have been replaced
with lunar shrines, which below which bestow
(11:47):
a 100% experience bonus when activated
with an updated appearance to honor the year
of the snake.
So that's part of Diablo Immortal as well.
Lunar Shrines function similarly to typical shrines, but
they have been augmented for an extra punch
to celebrate this festive event. These shrines also
have a unique map icon so you can
(12:07):
spot them from a distance. Lunar shrines provide
an exciting bonus effect on top of their
regular shrine power. The lunar shrine effects listed
are listed below. Here's what we've got. Artillery
shrine casts have a chance to summon a
holy bomb.
Wow. Blast wave shrine, each explosion summons a
cluster bombardment.
Channeling shrine, increased attack speed and chance to
(12:29):
reset cooldowns.
Conduit shrine, summon frequent powerful shocking strikes. Greed
shrine, chance to summon a treasure goblin. While
the shrine is active, kill summon a treasure
goblin. Lethal shrine, chance to instantly execute a
stuck a struck monster causing fear on surrounding
monsters. Note this includes elites, but excludes bosses
(12:50):
and other players. Protection Shrine. You reflect all
incoming damage. Damage reflected scales with level and
difficulty. On top of these powerfully
amplified effects,
miserly spirits spawn immediately when a Lunar Shrine
is activated,
allowing you to immediately capitalize on the shrine
specific gameplay augmentation.
You can also conquer reputation levels to earn
(13:11):
awards. There are 10 ancestral favor reputation levels
in total to earn with rewards,
such as a resplendent spark and 6 different
lunar themed cosmetic rewards to unlock, including the
new Trigoul's
consort mount. There's an asterisk after that. Previous
lunar rewards such as the lunar scepter, dragon's
courage, moon moonshot bow, dragon's tapestry,
(13:34):
moon's boot bounty, and Tragoul's consort charismatic can
only be earned once, so you can't like
scale them and take more. Once you've climbed
through the reputation levels, continue
earning additional rewards in the form of unceasing
gifts from the ancestors. And there's these opulent
garments,
that are in Tehale's shop. I don't usually
purchase things from that. They look really cool,
(13:54):
but it's just not for me. But if
you like it, there's, you know, you'll find
this when,
when I put the show notes together. Almost
done here. Alright. Diablo
on x says, at long last an altar
to worship at home. And then below is
an embedded,
thing. And it's it's a lilac shrine, is
what it is. It's just a lilac shrine,
and it looks a lot like the ones
in the game.
(14:15):
So this is from good smile_us
that does stuff with these kinds of things,
little statues and such. And so,
so good smile wrote, all hail the queen
bow down as Lilith makes her grand entrance
into the pop up parade
SP line. Call upon her divine presence when
retribution is at hand. Preorder her now at
(14:36):
goodsmileonlineshopus.
There's a link to that and then there's
a picture of Lilith in there, the little
statue. We also have some Diablo 4 patch
notes in here. So Diablo 4 team has
been monitoring
your feedback as we introduce patches to keep
your experience in Sanctuary smooth. We will update
the below list and denote whether the fixes
(14:58):
are intended for PC,
Xbox, PlayStation, or all platforms. So for vessel
of hatred, here's some game updates. The tooltip
for the I'm gonna say Kaxrun, q a
x, has been updated to more accurate accurately
describe its functionality. The icons for various unique
spirit board rings have been updated to make
them more visually
distinct from each other. Bug fixes. Dark Citadel
(15:21):
fixed an issue where the player could get
stuck outside the maze, during the Farrock encounter.
Fixed an issue where incenses of fortitude and
rushing wind did not persist after dying. Fixed
an issue where the bosses Voroshock and Husert
could target players in stealth. Fixed an issue
where players could infinitely revive themselves during the
(15:42):
impending doom wipe with scrolls of generosity.
Fixed an issue where loot could disappear when
returning via a party member's portal. Fixed an
issue where the witch powers could be swapped
during a cuirass undercity run. Fix an issue
where the description for resolute tributes did not
inform players that it does not affect the
whole party. Fix an issue where the QA
rune was listed as a rare rune at
(16:05):
the jeweler when it is a magic rune.
Fixed an issue where the hireling commander achievement
wouldn't be granted when playing on console
if it was first earned on PC.
Fixed an issue where tempering a glaive or
quarterstaff did not contribute towards the potent alterations
achievement.
And then there's the base game season of
witchcraft.
(16:25):
And here's what we have. The spawn rate
for forgotten altars has been increased. More ravens
of the tree will now appear in headhunt
zones. Some have been saying there's now more
unkindness in the area.
Additional UI elements have been added for tracking
head hunt progress.
2 new whisper bounties have been added.
New icons for head hunts have been added
(16:45):
for visual distinction.
All existing UI elements have been adjusted to
better convey progress of activities and where important
points of interest are notable and notable monsters
are. An additional UI element has been added
to track progress towards spawning head rotten bosses.
There's an armory thing. There's some bug fixes.
Season of the witchcraft has a whole bunch
of stuff in here, and I'm gonna, you
(17:06):
know, I'm gonna put it on my site,
and then you can, like, you know, check
it all out. And then there's another one
I haven't actually looked at yet, but it's,
a video from Diablo. And it is, Diablo
4 season of witchcraft. It's titled the 7
brides of the serpent. This thing is 25
minutes long, and it's got, like, a bunch
of artwork and stuff. I'm sure there'll be
music. I haven't actually looked into it yet,
(17:28):
but I'll I'll do it a little bit
later so I don't take up all of
your time listening and have making you listen
to this. But everything that I'm going to,
do
is going to be up on the Shattered
Soulstone
website,
very soon. And thank you all for listening.
