Sydney is going back home to Rose Bend - pregnant and divorced - hoping to settle back into her roots and find stability in a life she once knew in this small town. Although her relationship with her parents are rocky, after the death of sister many years ago, Sydney wants to raise her baby in a familiar, warm place. But even her ex-husband doesn’t make her move easy by threatening to take their baby away by suing for full-custody. But Sydney asks for help from an old friend, Coltrane, who is a lawyer and Mayor of Rose Bend, and is more than willing to help Sydney navigate this impending suit. Even though there’s an immediate attraction and intense feelings grow between these two, Cole is haunted with his own past and struggles with falling for Sydney while still in love with his wife, who died during childbirth with their unborn son.
