Om Namah Shivaya bedeutet also Ehrerbietung an Shiva. Aber was bedeutet Shiva?
Shiva hat viele verschiedene Bedeutungen. „Shiva“ bedeutet wörtlich „der Liebende, der Gütige“. Aber es bedeutet auch „das höhere Selbst“ und „das Göttliche überall“. Wir können „Om Namah Shivaya“ sagen und es in der Meditation oder im Kirtan verwenden. Es ist die Anrufung des gütigen, liebevollen, höheren Selbst in uns.
