Speaker 1 (00:00):
The end times, eschatology, study of the end times, as
we're going to talk about today on simple Man Sermons. Hello,
and welcome to simple Man Sermons, the preachings of a
simple man called by God to share the good news
(00:23):
of Jesus Christ. Now, a couple of things here. I
think we should be mindful of what the Bible says
about the end times and think about them. I don't
think that we should become obsessed by them. I don't
think anybody could accuse this simple man sermons of that
as we don't talk about it a lot here, but
(00:48):
it should be something to think about, something to watch for,
and with that, that's we're going to talk about today.
But some I think, become obsessed with this part of
the Bible. It is a part of the Bible. It
should be a balanced approach. I think unless you're doing
a specific epoch of time where you're deep diving into this, right,
(01:12):
probably not super healthy to read Revelation ten times in
a row and not have read Genesis, ex of the
Clovitka's numbers, Deuteronomy, the Gospels, you get it right, So
just a balanced approach on this. Another thing is we
can disagree on the interpretation of the end times and
still be Christians. Not a shall It's not one of
(01:35):
the pillars of salvation. So we can disagree on this
and still be Christian brothers in Christ. So, just getting
that out of the way, let's start with looking at
the prophet Daniel, who is given a vision of the
end times, the same Daniel that went into the lions den.
(01:57):
This is from the last chapter of the Book of Daniel.
At that time, Michael shall stand up the great Prince
who stands watch over the sons of your people, And
there shall be a time of trouble such as never
was since there was a nation, even to that time.
(02:17):
And at that time your people shall be delivered everyone
who is found written in the book, and many of
those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of
(02:38):
the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like
the stars forever endeavor. But you, Daniel, shut up the
words of the seal of the book until the time
of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and
knowledge shall increase. Then I Daniel looked, and there stood
two others on this river bank, and the other on
(03:02):
that river bank. And one said to the man clothed
in lenin, who was above the waters of the river,
how long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be? Then
I heard a man clothed in linen, who was above
the waters of the river, when he held up his
(03:23):
right hand and his left hand to heaven and swore
by him who lives forever and ever, that it shall
be for a time times and half a time, and
when the power of the Holy People has been completely shattered,
all these things shall be finished. Although I heard, I
(03:45):
did not understand. Then I said, my Lord, what shall
be the end of these things? And he said, go
your way, Daniel, For the words are clothed up and sealed.
Till the time of the end. Many shall be purified,
made whit and refined. But the wicked shall do wickedly,
(04:07):
and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise
shall understand. And from that time that the daily sacrifice
is taken away and the abomination of desolation is set up,
there shall be one thousand, two hundred and ninety days.
Blessed is he who waits and comes to one thousand,
(04:31):
three hundred and thirty five days. But you go your
way to the end, for you shall rest and will
rise to your inheritance at the end of the days.
My comments and thoughts here Daniel sees this, and Daniel
is a wise, wise prophet. Remember all that Daniel did,
(04:52):
some of the things that he did interpretations, And even
Daniel here does not fully understand when these things will be.
And he asks very plainly because he doesn't understand, and
he said, go your way, Daniel, for the words are
closed up and sealed to the time of the end.
I want you to think about that, ruminate on that.
(05:12):
A couple other things I'll point out here. This one
is often brought up. Many shall run to and fro
a knowledge shall increase. Some people might look at that
and be like, look, it's ai, it's right now. It
could be you know, people might have thought that when
Gutenberg invented the printing press, they could have thought, oh, man,
look at how fast knowledge is increasing. We can print
(05:34):
a book. It doesn't take one scribe who knows how
long to write it down word for word. We can
mass print. This has got to be the sign. People
might have thought that when the Internet came about. Right,
look at how the Internet changed society. Now we're looking
at AI. Could it be now? Could be, But it
(05:55):
could have been those other things too. People likely thought
the same thing. It could be people are talking about
a wet wire or a neural link where people get
literally hooked up to the Internet in their brain. Could
that be? It could be again, there could be things
we don't even comprehend, just like people reading this would
not have comprehended the cell phone could talk to anybody
(06:16):
around the world in a moment. So yeah, that is
a sign. But be careful thinking that everything is right.
Now go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed
up and sealed till the time of the end. Now
let's look at one greater than a prophet, Jesus himself.
(06:39):
Jesus talks about the end times. You'll find this in
the twenty fourth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew. Then
Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and his
disciples came up to show him the buildings of the temple.
And Jesus said to them, do you not see all
these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone
(07:01):
shall be left upon another that shall not be thrown down. Now,
as he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples
came to him privately, saying, tell us, when will these
things be, and what will be the sign of your
coming and the end of the age. Jesus answered and
said to them, take heed that no one deceives you,
(07:25):
for many will come in my name, saying I am
the Christ, and will deceive many. And you will hear
of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are
not troubled. For all these things must come to pass.
But the end is not yet. For nation will rise
against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines, pestilence,
and earthquakes in various places. All these things are the
(07:49):
beginning of sorrows. Then they will deliver you up to
tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by
all for me my namesake. And then many will be offended,
will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then
(08:10):
many false prophets will arise and deceive many, And because
lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preach to
all the world as a witness to all nations, and
(08:33):
then the end will come. Therefore, when you see the
abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing
in the Holy Place, whoever reads, let him understand. Then
Let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
Let him who is on the housetop not go down
to take anything out of his house, and let him
(08:57):
who is in the field not go back to get
his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and
those who are nursing babes in those days. And pray
that your flight may not be in winter or on
the sabbath, for then there will be great tribulation such
has not been since the beginning of the world until
this time, no nor ever shall be. And unless those
(09:20):
days were shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for
the Elect's sake, those days will be shortened. Then, if
any one says to you, look here is to Christ
or there, do not believe it, for false Christs and
false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders
(09:40):
to deceive, if possible, even the elect see I have
told you beforehand. Therefore, if they say to you, look
he is in the desert, do not go out, or
look he is in the inner rooms. Do not believe it.
For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes
to the west, so also will the coming of the
(10:01):
Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is there,
the eagles will be gathered together. Immediately after the tribulation
of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the
moon will not give its light. The stars will fall
from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.
(10:23):
Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear
in heaven. And then all the tribes of the earth
will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man
coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And he will send his angels with a great sound
of a trumpet, and they will gather together his elect
(10:46):
from the four winds, from one end of heaven to
the other. Now learn this parable from the fig tree.
When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves,
you know that summer is near. So you also, when
you see all these things, know that it is near.
(11:09):
At the doors assuredly, I say to you, this generation
will by no means pass away till all these things
take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, But my
words will by no means pass away. But of that
day and hour no one knows, not even the angels
(11:33):
of Heaven, but my father only. But as the days
of Noah were, so also will the coming of the
Son of Man be. For as in the days before
the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying, and given
in marriage until the day that Noah entered the ark,
and did not know until the flood came and took
(11:55):
them all away, so also will the coming of the
Son of Man be. Then two men will be in
the field, one will be taken and the other left.
Two women will be grinding at the mill. One will
be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you
do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But
(12:17):
know this that if the master of the house had
known what hour the thief would come, he would have
watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore,
you also be ready, for the Son of Man is
coming at an hour you do not expect. Who then,
is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made
(12:41):
ruler over his household, to give them food and due season.
Blessed is that servant, whom his master, when he comes,
will find so doing assuredly, I say to you that
he will make him ruler over all his goods. But
if the evil servant says in his heart, my master
(13:01):
is delayed in his coming, and begins to beat his
fellow servants and to eat and drink with the drunkards,
the master of that servant will come on a day
when he is not looking for him, and at an
hour that he is not aware of, and will cut
him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites.
(13:24):
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Okay, my
thoughts comments on Matthew twenty four on the Words of Christ.
He says, take heed that no one deceives you. And
I think people when they read this, they think that
these things are the sign of the end. But that's
(13:45):
that's not what it says here. I'm not the only
one that thinks this. I don't even know where I first.
Maybe I got it from just reading the text, but
I've heard other people say it. That's what Jesus says.
People think that these things are, you know, the signs
of the end times. Many will come in my name,
saying I am the Christ. And then he goes on
(14:06):
about wars and rumors of wars. This is a big one.
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. These
are the beginning of sorrows, the beginning of sorrows, Jesus
says himself. Here, but the end is not yet. And
I'll point out something. The disciples ask, what will be
the sign of your coming? The sign that he gives here,
(14:28):
there are there are many things that come before this. Right,
there are many things that come before this. But like
the sign that I see when I read this the sign,
So why I'd say, we have indicators like wars and
rumors of wars, earthquakes in various places. Who will be
hated by all for my namesake. Lawlessness will abound, and
the love of many will grow cold. And this gospel
(14:49):
of the Kingdom will be preached to all the world
as a witness to all nations. And then the end
will come. And then it talks about therefore, when you
see the the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel
the prophet standing in the Holy Place, we just read Daniel.
It's no coincidence he quotes Daniel here Daniel and Jesus
(15:12):
talk about the abomination of desolations. What is that? I
don't know. I don't know, but it seems like some
gregious abomination of a sin that will probably when it happens,
be pretty well known. But to me, that is the sign.
(15:33):
The other things happened before that, or do they happen
a week before that, one hundred years before that, one
thousand years before that. I don't know that. It seems
to be the sign, like the big one, not an indicator,
but like the sign the abomination of desolation standing in
the Holy Place. Also, it seems this will be a
(15:54):
very sudden. Let those who are in Judea flee to
the mountains. Let him who's on the housetop not go
down to take anything out of his house. Let him
who's in the field not go back to get his clothes.
It also says for then there will be great tribulations
(16:15):
such has not been seen since the beginning of the world.
That's a great tribulation. The world has been through some
big tribulations, not the great tribulation. I would argue some
people in eschatology think that some of this has already happened.
The destruction of the temple certainly has happened. That's partially true.
But some people think that all this has already happened.
(16:36):
I would say that we have not seen great tribulations.
Such has not been since the foundation of the world.
The world has seen some pretty great tribulation, nothing greater
than what's come before the flood, the Great Flood, This says,
greater than anything that's ever come. There's been the Black Death,
(16:56):
There's been World War one, World War two, There's been
all kinds of great wars. But it says there will
be great tribulation. Such has not been since the beginning
of the world. So a great tribulation comes suddenly. Also
talks about false Christs and false prophets claiming to be that.
(17:17):
But it seems to be that it will be very obvious.
For as lightning comes from the east and flashes to
the west, so will the coming of the Sun of
Man be. What exactly is that, I don't know, but
it says further down, then the sign of the Son
of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the
tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see
(17:39):
the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven
with power and glory. Seems to be like when he returns,
we'll know, so don't be led astray by people claiming
to be him. Now, this is a big one I
want to hit on. But of the day or the hour,
no one knows. But of the day or the hour,
(18:01):
no one knows, not even the angels of heaven. But
my father only no one knows. I don't know. And
I'm humble enough to admit that I don't know. And
I could study and study and study the Word of God,
which is great, but I'm not gonna know the day
or the hour. Jesus says that. So here's a pretty
(18:23):
big indicator. If anybody says that they do know the
day or the hour, they don't, and that would make
them what a liar. Nobody knows the day or the hour.
Anybody claiming they know the day of the hour. This
has happened over and over again in history. The Millerites
the Great Disappointment. Many many Christians in the past, different sects,
(18:45):
different things, have said they know, you know when they
know the day, they know the hour. But if you're
based as a Christian in your Bible, you will know
that that's a pretty bidding indicator that they're lying. No
one knows the day the hour, Daniel, the prophet didn't
know the day or the hour. Jesus here is not
telling us the day or the hour. No one knows.
(19:07):
So if anybody says they do know, what does that mean?
When Jesus says no one, that means no one? Pretty
clear it is gonna come suddenly, and nobody knows the
day or the hour. What are we to do? Then? Well,
good for us. It says here watch therefore, for you
do not know the day or the hour. Doesn't say
watch because you know. It doesn't say you know, I'm
(19:30):
gonna tell you the day or the hour, or some
prophet is gonna tell you the day of the hour.
It says watch. Vigilance is hard as somebody that has
a military background a private contracting background, staying vigilant on
a post where nothing happens hour after hour, day after day.
That is a lot harder. If somebody said somebody's gonna
come and try and kill you in an hour, you're
(19:51):
gonna be like hyper vigilant. But if somebody says somebody's
gonna try and come and kill you sometime in the
next twenty years. It's hard to stay vigilant, how much
more the generations of Christians waiting for the end. But
we are called to watch. Nobody called it an easy path.
It's a difficult way, being vigilant for something you have
(20:14):
no idea when it's coming. That's hard, But that's what
we're called to do. Watch therefore, for you do not
know what hour your Lord is coming. Now again, I said,
we can be friends and disagree on different things. There
is a subset, especially here and almost exclusively here in America,
(20:35):
that believes in a rapture. I don't get that from
reading the Bible. Now again, we can still be friends.
But I don't get that from reading the Bible. They
will talk about one being taken in the other left.
Here's what it says. But as the days of Noah were,
so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
For as in the days before the flood, they will
(20:57):
be eating and drinking, and marrying and giving in marriage
until the day no enter the ark and did not
know until the flood came and took them all away.
The ones that were taken away. Were they raptured up
into heaven? No, they were killed the ones who stayed.
The most direct reading to me. To me, I could
be wrong about this. The most direct reading for me
(21:19):
is the ones that are taken away are killed and
the ones who were left to go through a tribulation.
The ones on the arc went through a pretty big tribulation. Right,
were protected by God, but they had to build the ark.
They had to endure. They had to get through that.
Two men will be in the field, one taken in
the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill.
One will be taken and the other left. If these
(21:41):
people were raptured up and they were just doing their
daily lives and then boop into heaven, then the next
verse doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.
One will be taken in the other left. Watch therefore,
for you do not know what hour your lord is coming,
or if you're just going to be raptured away he
and you don't have to do anything. What do you
have to watch for? You just just did he bop
(22:04):
around and then boop. I could be wrong about that.
Let me be perfectly clear. Can God rapture all his
people into heaven in the twinkling of an eye. Yeah,
he's God. He can do anything he wants. Do you
get that from just reading the text? Or do you
get that from an eschatology that's been trained and taught
from a tradition in a church where you're reading it
(22:26):
into the text. Look at the origins of the rapture
and all the Christian Church. The rapture came about in
the middle eighteen hundreds. And you know, the words of
God here are six thousand years old, and this came
about one hundred and fifty hundred and eighty years ago.
If you look up the origins of the rapture doctrine,
it comes in part from a teenage girl, Margaret McDonald
(22:49):
in the mid eighteen hundreds. Now, I don't get my
biblical theology from teenage girls also clamped onto by a
man named John Nelson Darby. You might look up The
Great Disappointment where somebody said they knew the day or
the hour based on kind of this rapture theology is
kind of all wrapped up in this, and they're like,
we know the day or the hour sometime in the
eighteen hundreds, right, They're like, we're we're gonna be going up.
(23:13):
This is the end Times. This is it. Obviously that
wasn't it. It was called the Great Disappointment. You would
think that would be the end of it. But several
Christian sects and this kind of rapture theology is tied
up in that, and it came I think from Scotland originally,
that teenage girl was in Scotland. And remember I said
this was mostly an American Christian thing, this rapture, Well,
(23:40):
this came about right around the end of the Civil War,
and America was e wrecked in the Civil War, especially
Antebellu himself, where you see a lot of this today.
Her brother was killing brother and a ton of Americans
were dead. And it's to be honest, as a comforting
theology that oh I'm just gonna did he bop around
it knew my thing and then boop, I'll be in heaven.
(24:04):
I'll point out though, it says as in the days
of Noah, Noah had to build the arc. He had
to go through some time, right, he had to labor,
he had to work for the end Times. Now again,
I'm not saying we can't be friends. If you want
to believe in the rapture, just I would encourage you
to look at it and get it from the text,
not from what somebody tells you or from tradition. Tradition
is not going to save you. The tradition is not
(24:25):
going to save you. Christ is going to save you.
What does Christ say about the end times? Again? Can
God take as many people as he wants into heaven
and an instant and the twinkling of an eye? He can?
I'm not sure I get that from reading the text,
though I spent quite a bit of time on that.
My apologies if you don't, but a lot of people
ascribe to that. Just make sure where you're getting it from.
(24:47):
Didn't read this far, but I've read this one. But
of the day or the hour, no one knows, not
even the angels of Heaven but my Father only then
A little bit further on this is in chapter twenty
five Watch there for for you know neither the day
nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
I don't know the day or the hour. I'm not
pretending to I'm not pretending to have some crazy revelation that, oh,
(25:09):
you know, AI takes over. And I don't even want
to say a date, because I don't want to be
accused of that. I don't know the day or the hour.
I don't. I'm not called to know the day or
the hour. I am called to watch. Therefore, therefore I'm
called to watch, Watch, and be ready. Jesus says that
a lot watch. That's what I'm telling you to do. Watch,
(25:29):
because you don't know the day or the hour. I
don't care who you are. You don't know the day
or the hour. When Jesus says no one, I believe
he means no one. Not John Nelson Darby, not some
teenage girl in Scotland, no one. Not Jim Jones, not
David Koresh, no one. I will also point out that
in Matthew thirteen he says, but of that day or hour,
no one knows. Now the big one, the Book of Revelation,
(25:55):
the last book in the Bible. Now, I'm not going
to go through verse by verse every verse in Revelation
right now in this teaching, but let's wrestle with a
few of them here together. From chapter three. Behold, I
(26:16):
am coming quickly. Hold fast to what you have, that
no one may take your crown. He who overcomes I
will make him a pillar in the temple of my God.
We see this kind of theme of suddenly, like Jesus
talks about suddenly quickly, let's talk about the four horsemen
of the apocalypse, right, just a very vivid and startling image.
(26:41):
We heard about this great tribulation Jesus talked about when
we read Matthew. He said, a great tribulation. We're gonna
hear about some great tribulation here. Now. I saw when
the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard
one of the four living creatures saying, with a voice
like thunder, come and see. And I looked and behold
(27:03):
a white horse, and he sat on it had a bow,
and a crown was given to him. And he went
out conquering and to conquer. When he opened the second seal,
I heard the second living creature saying, come and see
another horse, fiery red went out, and it was granted
(27:25):
to the one who sat on it to take peace
from the earth, and that people should kill one another.
And there was given to him a great sword. When
he opened the third seal, I heard the third living
creature say, come and see. So I looked, and behold
a black horse, And you sat on him had a
(27:47):
pair of scales in his hand, and I heard a
voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying,
a quart of wheat for denarius, and three quarts of
barley for a denarius, and do not on the oil
and the wine. And when he opened the forced seal,
I heard the voice of the fore living creatures saying,
(28:09):
come and see. So I looked and behold a pale horse.
And the name who sat on it was Death, and
Hades followed with him, and power was given to them
over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword,
with hunger, with death, and by beasts of the earth.
(28:32):
Those sound like some pretty great tribulations. Again, we're called
to watch. Famine is part of this. I'm just it is.
We read that right, the black horse, And I've done
some study on this from from when I can figure
dinarius is about a day's wage, it would in this
(28:55):
time of famine, when food is scarce. It takes about
an average day's labor to buy a quart of wheat
and do not harm the oil in the wine. That's
like a I don't know if you can even survive
on a quart of wheat. Doesn't seem like a lot
of calories three quarts of barley, which barley is generally
considered like a cheaper, lesser grain. But three quarts of barley,
(29:16):
maybe you could live on that. It's your whole day's wage,
just like there's nothing else, nothing left over. We talked
a little bit about the rapture. I'm gonna read this verse,
and I said to him, sir, you know, And he
said to me, these are the ones who came out
of the Great tribulation and washed their robes and made
them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, there
(29:39):
before the throne of God and serve him day and
night in his temple. I'll point out those who came
out of the Great tribulation. I also want to read
this because it's beautiful. And he who sits on the
throne will dwell among them, and they shall neither hunger
any more, nor thirst any more. The sun shall not
(30:01):
strike them nor any heat, for the Lamb, who is
in the midst of the throne, will shepherd them and
lead them into living fountains of water, and God will
wipe away every tear from their eyes. Now, let's tread
some about the dragon and war broke out in heaven.
(30:22):
Michael and his angels fought with the dragon. And the
dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail,
nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.
So the great Dragon was cast out, that serpent of old,
called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world.
He was cast to the earth, and his angels were
(30:42):
cast out with him. Then I heard a loud voice
saying in heaven, now salvation and strength and the kingdom
of our God and the power of his Christ have
come for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them
before our God day and night, has been cast down,
(31:04):
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony. Angels, demons, the devil,
they are real. They are a part of God's creation.
Many Christians will shy away from these kind of verses.
Many Christians, I think, spend too much time on this.
(31:26):
We have a temptation is humans to worship angels. We
see this throughout the Bible. Even godly men make the
mistake of worshiping angels, and they'll generally say, don't do that.
So we shouldn't obsess about angels and spend a ton
of time I think on them. But we have to
realize that angels are real, demons are real. Satan is real.
(31:47):
Hacatan the accuser accusing you, and you're guilty. You're not
gonna be saved because you're innocent. You're gonna be saved
because you have a savior. You're gonna be sa by
the blood of the Lamb. Moving on, some sage advice
from Revelation eighteen. Come out of her, my people, least
(32:12):
you share in her sins, unleas you receive of her plagues.
And then from twenty one, behold, the Tabernacle of God
is with men, and He will dwell with them, and
they shall be his people. God himself will be with
them and be their God. And God will wipe away
every tear from their eyes. There shall be no more death,
(32:35):
nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain,
for the former things have passed away. Then you sat
on the throne, said, behold, I make all things new.
And he said to me, right, for these things are
true and faithful. And he said to me, it is done.
(32:59):
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and
the end. I will give of the fountain of the
water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who
overcomes shall inherit all things, And I will be his God,
and he shall be my son. But the cowardly, unbelieving,
(33:23):
abominable murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolators, and all liars shall
have their place in the lake which burns with fire
and brimstone, which is the second Death, and from the
last chapter of Revelation, the last book of the Bible.
(33:46):
And behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is
with me to give everyone according to his work. I
am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end,
the first and the last. Blessed are those who do
his commandments, that they may have the right of the
tree of life. Comments my thoughts, It says here again
(34:12):
he is coming quickly, and blessed are those who do
his commandments. It also says, uh, well, where do we
leave off the tree of life? And many may enter
through the gates into the city, But outside are dogs, sorcerers,
and sexually immoral murderers and idolators. Whoever loves and practices
(34:38):
a lie. It also says, my reward is with me
to give everyone according to his work. Now we have
this thing about no work space theology. I'm telling you
what Jesus says. I'm telling you what the Word of
God says. These are read letters, and my reward is
with me to give everyone a according to his work.
(35:02):
And then it says just below that blessed are those
who do his commandments. Thought I could just do whatever
I wanted, just say the name to do whatever I want, Well,
I would tell you, Jesus himself says Gospel of Matthew
chapter seven. Not everyone who says to me, Lord Lord,
shall enter the Kingdom of heaven. But he who does
(35:23):
the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say
to me in that day, Lord Lord, have we not
prophesied in your name, and cast out demons in your name,
and done many wonders in your name? And then I
will declare to them, I never knew you. Depart from me,
you who practice lawlessness. Therefore, whoever hears these things of
(35:47):
mine and does them will be like a wise man
who builds his house on a rock. Again, make sure
you're getting your theology from God and from the Bible,
not from tradition. Tradition is not going to save you.
And then this will be the last verse that I read.
For this surely I am coming quickly. Again, we see
(36:09):
that quickly. I don't know the day or the hour.
You don't know the day or the hour. Let us
be watchful, let us be on guard. I don't understand
all these things. I don't know the day or the hour.
Beware of any man who says that they do, because
no one does. But it is something to pay attention to.
(36:31):
We are called to watch. Thanks for listening, and have
a blessed day.
