quick, little written review right there. It doesn't hurt. The crew helps
us out a lot. Alrighty,we've made it to triple match re cap
territory, Tony. Are you readyfor our most challenging recap triple Indy here
(04:05):
as we go off all three divingboards at once. Okay, let's do
it. It was a it wasa interesting week, to say the least.
I'll say a week that got betterand better and better for the San
Diego Soccers, but it didn't startoff great. A Tuesday night reschedule from
(04:26):
the January seventh Water Main Break game, and the Soccers couldn't break through early
to boy Morgan had that chance sixseconds into the match to put him up
one nothing. A couple other earlychances go wanting, and then oh simple
in attention on an overly casual pass, the weight was too slow. It
sent Inouzi Mitchell had a little bitof a bobble there, but Felipe's ball
(04:47):
was pretty slow as well, andUsi takes a gift and makes it won
nothing San Diego. All gifts willbe accepted, and Texas takes that one
nothing lead. Yeah, it lookedlike Texas was kind of throwing stuff to
the wall to see what would stick, and things were actually sticking. Uzi
Tayu just doing his best up topand just being a disruptor. All of
(05:11):
a sudden, the Soccers find themselvesin a place where any little mistake was
being capitalized by the outlaws and reallyputting the Soccers in a very precarious position
early on. And honestly, Ilove the way that Texas played and gave
a challenge to the soccers. Buthere Ua Lasso. Yeah, absolutely beautiful,
great counter down the floor, sentup to Voi and then the one
(05:33):
to two with Felipe and back toDavoi for his seventeenth goal of the season.
This is his last point scored ofthe week. Unfortunately for the soccer's
leading scorer. It was the firstgoal of the first match. But as
we know in the second quarter,to void Morgan's week would be over with
(05:54):
certainly not his season. But Texasreally stayed in this match. You know,
we're going through the highlight sea onSoccer's overtime, Eric Messius. This
shot from long range that you know, it's kind of a double screen.
Juan Gonzalez is semi in the way. Cardon Is is semi in the way.
It gets through the short post.On Boris there, Texas has the
(06:15):
advantage. Boris gets hit in theface on the double save. Here could
have been three to one. Greatdouble saved by Boris, who came in
ill to this match. He wasnot feeling good. It was only about
an hour or so before the matchthat he was officially put into the lineup
and it was a game of challenges. Meanwhile, San Diego peppering the net.
(06:40):
And here's where Eduardo Poile Cortes startsto show up in the highlight.
Real boy, he was good onTuesday night, Tony. He was something
special that day and it was reallya treat to see a performance like that.
And again, it's not just sayingthat the soccers didn't throw everything.
We're at their best because they werereally being caught with some of these chances
(07:00):
and Cortes, whether it be air, through land, through sea. You
know what was the del Mar thing? Uh where the surf reached the turf
and where the surf take a plane, take a train and take a car.
There you go. Concation was beingstopped by Cortes this night. A
fantastic, fantastic performance and the goalkeepingnet it was. And then of course
(07:24):
we're also seeing some highlights of youknow, missed opportunities. Right there's one
for Craig Giles. You saw acouple earlier as well. And right here
this is where everything changes. Andyou know what, I would pause it
for just a second, if ifyou would, Tony, because up until
this point, with four to twelveleft in the second quarter, this was
(07:46):
a match that at one point Idescribed on the match broadcast. I would
stick with this description up to thispoint. It was an NBA team on
a Tuesday night playing a team thatthey were supposed to beat. Texas was
without seven of their regulars, theirtop five scorers, and they were kind
of you know, it's a lowenergy crowd, it's a low attendance crowd,
(08:07):
and the soccers were pretty much playingto the level of the competition,
doing what an NBA team does ona night like that, like, Hey,
you know what, We're gonna kindof cruise through this one and we'll
look up with five minutes left andsee what the score is, and you
know, if we're right there ora little bit behind, we'll we'll push
past them. We'll use our lastfive minutes to win. Point of fact,
(08:28):
they did that. They were agreat team in the last five minutes
of this match, and they wonthe match. But right here, with
four to twelve to go on thesecond everything changes for Phil Salvaggio and the
San Diego soccers because Tavoyd Morgan goesover the wall. Charlie Gonzalez had gone
hopping into the bench just seconds beforethat. At the next time out,
(08:50):
they both get off of the floorand the Soccers needed to recalibrate, adjust
change without two of their most importantoffensive players. And I felt like when
I watched that I watched back thisentire match earlier this weekend because it was
the one that kind of stuck inmy crawl, and I think that's one
(09:13):
thing that I could have done abetter job of noting on the broadcast instead
of just kind of being like, boy, the soccers level isn't there is
It's difficult to adjust to losing twocritical players like your number one and two
scores in Tavoy and Charlie in abig bunk back to back. Yeah,
And if you look at it thatway, it's a matter of a great
(09:35):
job that the soccers did because somethingthat was being asked of this team is
to be dynamic, to be ateam that was able to adjust through health
even if the players were there indifferent scenarios, and that's something that we
haven't seen. There were stoic ina sense and really sticking to their guns
and to their style, and sometimesthat puts the soccers in a difficult position.
But here, honestly, without thoseoptions to go to, just kudos
(10:00):
to being able to have that knowledgeto see you know what, this is
not working. We're gonna have toapproach it in a different way on the
fly, and it's not gonna takefive minutes. You're gonna need to go
into the half. You're gonna haveto have those discussions. You're gonna have
to have the adjustments. And eventhen you have to regulate that temperature.
It's not just the set it andforget it as you go. You have
to be just toying with it.So I think it was a good display
(10:24):
of Philosovazio and the coaching cruise, just being in tune with a game like
this. Yeah, so you know, bottom line, when I went back
and watched it, I didn't thinkthere was really anything particularly unfair. But
I still thought I was a littlehard on the soccers on Tuesday night given
this, given the Tavoy absence, the Charlie absence mid game, the adjustments
(10:46):
that have to be made. Buthonestly, Texas also really really came to
play. And I think the thingwe did the most, the very most
on Tuesdays broadcast is we praised theOutlaws. We praised them over and over
again. The seat avoid going off, Charlie right behind him there he goes
exactly what we were talking about. But this was this was the Outlaws game
(11:07):
to win. They had this one, they had the opportunities. Here comes
pee Wee to change things. Acouple of long goals from that same spot
in this match to any terms tobe determinative pee Wee and Mitchell later.
Yeah, it's almost like this iswhat it had to take to get past
Poya Corthesi's performance. Right, therewas a fantastic accumulation of moments and goals
(11:28):
that overall just took the Soccers overthe edge and to the credit of the
players too. Right, you havea depleted team and there needed to be
some of the Soccers players to stepup, and pee Wee has also been
that having some important moments so farin the season. Here was the spot
where I thought Craig Giles was goingto be out for the rest of the
(11:48):
week, kind of lunging awkwardly atthat ball. And to be honest,
by the time we get to theend of Sunday's Highlights, you'll be able
to count on a hand and thenumber of Soccers players who aren't injured or
at least banged up. It's tothat level now for San Diego. We're
just kind of seeing the early partsof it here, and this is a
(12:09):
string of frustrating moments for the club. This was a frustrating match overall.
And when you get a hot goalkeeperperformance in the middle of a match where
there's also a little bit of disconnection, boy, it winds up feeling like
you're up against a brick wall.Yeah, And to continue that narrative of
(12:30):
hey, the Outlaws played great, they really did, and there's nothing you
can really do with an inspired sidelike this to quell that fire. On
the other side, you just haveto take care of yourself. And when
a great stops great positioning by boil, it just happens. You see,
Craig, the frustration, the handsto the head, just the disbelief of
like did that really not go in? Did that really not? And then
just the counter attack and a chanceonce again of pure joy and happiness from
(12:56):
Ouzi there. But that right there, this is just a microcosm of this
match. It's a frustration on theoffensive side. They get a chance and
they bury it. Pass parto UzziTyu playing forward, first time I've ever
seen him play forward, and ofcourse the soccers answer, right back.
This part of assist to Chiles hugemoment in terms of game flow in the
(13:18):
match, but over the course oftwo games, Uzi Tyu turned Mitchell Cardinis
and turned Guerro Pino in consecutive matches. He took the two best defenders on
the team, two of the bestdefenders in the league, and he's a
defender who is considered not to befast or necessarily that quick, and he
(13:39):
turned them both and he scored greatgoals. This was the ulta. Here's
Uzzi's assist on the power play forfour to three Texas. I will just
say straight up, as soon asI saw this guy, Uzi Tayu,
a player who has been a defenderhis whole career. The first shift I
saw him up top, I waslike, Oh my god, I'm just
such a fan. I'm such afan of this moment, of this man,
(14:03):
of just like this moment in hiscareer being opportunistic and and my goodness,
the level of success he had.I definitely think he and Frank had
some talk about, like, youknow, Frank, maybe you should have
been the defender. Maybe I shouldhave been the one up top. Yeah,
I mean, and you play againstthe best, right like, that's
what happens in growing up. Oneof them has to be the goalkeeper,
(14:24):
one has to be the defender, the other one has to be attacking.
So it's a it's a one onone battle. So he picked up some
some tips there. It's always greatto see out of position players doing great
stuff. Whether it's an out theoutfield player playing goalkeeper or vice versa.
It's a it's a joy to watchthat sometimes. And I'm telling you,
Lasso here now another this is wherePoyo You're just like, well, maybe
(14:48):
POI is just gonna win this gameby himself. I had four to four,
Craig almost gets the flying Wilenda flyingscissor kick. Another great stop by
Poyo counting it down here, butthe soccers at this point in control of
this match. And then a greatturn here it is Christian Guccierrez turns of
gearing, forcing Poile out, tipsit off the wall. Very gentle,
(15:13):
very calm play by Christian down therein the corner, and after it gets
into Messias's legs, it's right therefor Felipe for a simple tap in for
five to four and what turned outto be the match winner. Yeah,
and obviously had to take that. That's the moment that I think as a
player, like even at the endof it, he still got a hand
on it. Boya was fighting andgot entangled there with a defender, and
(15:35):
it had to take just some happenstance, some luck, some fortune to have
that ball just travel there and havethat be the game winner. I was,
I felt, I felt for Poias a as a former goalkeeper myself,
but you know what, at theend of the day, it is
what it is. And for Texasas well, this was a match that
they could have won without Morales andOrtiz and Dontas Andes and de Leon and
(16:02):
Acunte and like all the way downthe line, all the guys that were
out in that match, defenders playingup top. They ran a power play.
They had three defenders on the powerplay. You know, it's like
Cody Ellis in a geara up topand Noosy's down load trying to time people.
And I'm just going like, Imean, this is in a weird
(16:23):
way, it's like delightful, youknow, just to see a team that's
kind of circled the wagons and cometogether, and that was Texas's match to
win. They didn't win. Soccersdo this. The soccers have this level,
they have this ability to win amatch when they didn't play their best.
And while you know, I'm notsaying I caught any flak, but
(16:45):
like, oh, you're so negativein that game, Like you're so negative,
you're so tough on the team,You're so negative. Like that was
not us at our best on Tuesday. And I've seen the soccers at their
best, and I've seen the soccerlose in situations when quite frankly skipping ahead
slightly Sunday, if they had lost, you would not have heard a word
(17:10):
from me of dissent because the clubwas doing the very very best they could
under the circumstances that they had.But I didn't think they were doing the
very very best they could for partsof Tuesday's match, and then they caught
themselves in a match, you knowwhat I mean. It's like you didn't
mean to be here. All ofa sudden, you're here, You're in
the trap. Now you're in thebear trap, and here's Poyo swatting everything
(17:34):
away, and what are you goingto do? You're down for the fourth
time tonight. What are you goingto do? And the soccers took control.
They controlled the last eleven minutes. They really didn't allow Texas unlike Chihuahua.
You know, when Chihuahua took thelead, Chihuahua just strangled the match,
just took all the air out ofit and controlled the ball and the
(17:56):
soccers couldn't really even get the ballback, and when they did there was
Renoso to stop them. You know, that's where the similar similarity is for
sure. But you know, sometimesthat really good NBA team that didn't necessarily
come out of the locker room readyto win finds it in the last five
minutes, and the soccers found thisone in the last five minutes. And
(18:21):
obviously it's a team that we knowhas that category. They are in a
upper echelon talent wise and roster wisewhere they have a chance and they know
that they should be the ones withthe victory at the end of it,
and everybody else knows that. Sowhen that doesn't seem to be the trajectory
mid match, I think that's whenyou know it's easy to lose oneself in
Okay, Well, this can bea slippery slope, and you can find
(18:42):
yourself in a situation where this isgoing to get out of hand, because
we've seen it and this can beone of those matches. Fortunately this wasn't
a case. They were able topull it out. And look, that's
what makes these again. I referto this the champions the championship mentality.
If that's going to be this team, they're going to claw and scratch and
(19:03):
persevere that I'm going to be veryglad to have this team represent the West
in anything here coming up. Ifthat's the that's the aspiration, Because you
know, Savage is still there,Savage still there. You didn't have the
answers for Chihuahua, and you didfind the answers for Tacoma. A tricky
Tacoma, a tricky matchup, atricky setup. So I think that's that's
(19:26):
a positive, and that positive thereoverall. All right, So skip ahead
to Thursday and when we were comingin for this match. First off,
the third kids are out. Don'tcall them Gaslamp, call them the third
kids. But they're gorgeous and they'refun, and we just get this fun,
fun first quarter with six total goals. Soccer's looking sharp. Some really
(19:48):
attractive play this one maybe not themost attractive from Poyo's standpoint is he probably
hopes he could have taken a pieceof that away, but nonetheless, one
nothing or San Diego right off thetop announcing this will be a different match
than what we saw on Tuesday.Texas of course still coming to play,
(20:08):
and who'sy still coming to play?Because listen, if he's gonna score,
how about just four bangers in twogames. Let's just get four of the
better goals of the league in twogames, and this one is a top
five for the year. Yeah, one of the most impressive displays of strikers.
I don't care what his natural positionis for me in these last two
(20:30):
in those last two games, thiswas striker mode. Give them a different
position on on the baseball card typeperformances. But this right here is just
the ability to really go dig deepfor that resource of making that move and
hoping that it goes the right wayand it going past part. I think
Boris himself was just besides himself, like did that really go in? And
(20:51):
yeah, that's that ended up happeninga really fun match. Like you're saying,
different tempo, different different acceleration, different transitions. It was just the
energy was very, very very vibrant. I'd say soccer's got a power play.
Put a new unit out there.Drew Ruggles up top, gets the
ball to his left foot, makesno mistake to tie the match at two
(21:14):
to two. Now again, cominginto this match, Soccer's playing without Ta
Void, playing without Charlie Leonardo deoRivera, who played Tuesday, was sat
out on Thursday. Costa already out. So for the top six gone for
San Diego and then for Texas flyingin from Martentina, David Ortiz and Sebastian
(21:36):
Mendez, and so you kind offelt as this just great play. Flavio
gets it started, Flavio finishes it. Flabo Guzman, welcome to the soccer.
Is your first goal as a SanDiego soccer. He clearly is not
at full strength right now with thehamstring, but this certainly the best flurry
(21:56):
we've seen of him with the newclub. Yeah, confidence booster there being
able to get that scrappy play finish. You get Ruggles here heading it into
the ground, just getting some contacton there, and this pinball action just
ends up with Flavio getting that boostof confidence that he I think needed here
at the soccers and Guerrero Pino getssomething started with a steel just misses on
(22:18):
his shot, but there's pee weeto keep the secondary attack alive. It's
an all defender attack as it's peewee to Serta for four two. Really
well done. And as we talkabout these lineups, the soccers made a
really risky strategic decision Tony, andwe talked about it on the match broadcast.
(22:40):
They decided to constrict their lineup. They have a fourteen field player lineup,
and they decided to create a lineupthat would use only eleven of the
fourteen that would have every position goingin two's, meaning one alternating for the
other, except for forward where youhad to boy with Jan Salazar with Christian
Gutierrez. Now Here is a classicmoment in this match. Sebastian Mendez draws
(23:04):
a penalty you can see on thereplay and you could even see it better
on a different angle. Absolutely nocontact between Phelippe Gonzales and Sebastian Medez,
like literally no contact, did nottouch him ball, no lie situation.
Even though this is later in thematch that Uzi scored that they did not
score on the power play, thatMendez just look turning Pino at Uzie's day,
(23:30):
but just you know, paying offfor Susan in the chat. Every
single time that Mendez touched the ballthe rest of the match, like an
Aztec's game. When the backup pointguard for Wyoming comes in, they just
booed every motion of Mendez, almostforcing him to release the ball sooner just
(23:51):
to keep the booze off of hisbody. It was delightful. It was
a great effort by the soccers fans. Yeah, and you can't say that
that didn't half any effect on theplay because he was on the ball very
late in the game in important matches, and exactly he got it and you
know it just out of that extrabit of pressure. Kudos to the soccers
(24:11):
fans for being intelligent and following thematch, not like you know, we've
seen other players with Wrexham and ManUnited. The goalkeeper fouls somebody and they
switch them out halftime and nobody knowsthey're just doing the goalkeeper. No,
these are intelligent fans here, thesoccers fans are. When it got down
to four to three, it lookeda little scary. Huge play there with
our guest coming up on Salazar helpingset up for Felipe Gonzalez, then Lucas
(24:37):
Romalo gets one back. It's fiveto four. It's exciting, it's a
little bit nervous. Texas really gavea lot of effort. You know,
this is a team that is fightingfor a winning record right now. It
looked like they would absolutely have awinning record earlier in the year. Nonetheless,
I think they've shown a lot intheir second year under Tattoo. Here's
(25:00):
the game winning play, essentially Isctogets it loose and then it's put home
by Christian. We haven't seen Goodieto score very often this year. Just
his third goal of the year.Of course it came in the fourth quarter.
That's that's what Christian does. Nonetheless, huge kind of clinching goal here,
and then the soccers get two emptyneck netters to wrap things up.
(25:21):
Here's the first one. Felipe cankind of walk this one into the net.
Good to still see he had thelegs to get down there on it.
And then later it's a Pino settingup a Scoto right along the wall.
Pino picking up two late assists. That was fun and it's really a
testament to the follow through of thegame plan for this Obviously, They knew
(25:41):
they were going to go run intotwoes. They knew who was in,
and it didn't really matter who wason the other side. We heard rumors
that they may fly some players inthe Texas Outlaws would but here I think
it was a great execution of whatthe plan was. They knew from the
beginning the intensity had to be higherthan what we saw on Tuesday, and
overall, I think it was agreat job also being by the coaching staff
(26:03):
to set up this team for success. And they paid dividends very very well
there. So really, yeah, the soccer's coaching staff had a choice going
into Thursday, do we want tolean on a young lineup. They could
have filled the lineup with young players. They could have filled the rotation with
young players and taking their chances. They said, no, this is a
(26:23):
big game. We're gonna tighten it. We're gonna go the other way.
We've got a veteran team, we'vegot an older team. We're going to
ask them to take more minutes. We're gonna ask them to take more responsibility,
heavier weight on their shoulders because weneed this one and they got it.
Eight to four. Texas. Notthat they can't win the Pacific,
(26:45):
but they all but can't win thePacific. Now it's basically over. The
soccer still have two matches in handwith a thirteen point lead, I believe
over Texas, you know, andnow you're getting down to the point,
what are we fourteen and two?So eight matches left for San Diego,
(27:07):
right, yeah, eight matches leftfor San Diego, thirteen points the advantage,
two point two matches in hand,so if it gets up to forty
six, it'll it'll be over. That'll be it, It'll be done.
So the soccers are very close toclinching the Pacific Division, at least clinching
out Texas. You know, Chihuahua'sthere. If they'd finished with five losses,
(27:30):
that's really kind of the mark. The soccers can lose up to two
more times this year and have absoluteclear sailing to the Pacific. However,
three would put things in trouble. So you know, you got to go
a minimum of six and two downthe stretch, and you've got three left
(27:51):
of those against Empire, so youknow, you kind of like the situation.
However, let's get to Sunday now, be cause here's the fun one
of the week, and it didn'tlook this way early, Tony. I'll
just tell you, like, withlike ten minutes before kickoff, it looked
(28:11):
like it would just be a prettyokay, kind of average crowd. And
then the soccer's put on a showin the first quarter of this one.
Just unlucky for Empires, Ascoto's ballgets deflected in. But then soccers really
start putting on a show moving theball around. We see it one third
time at point off of Corado. That's that's yeah, whatever, But then
(28:34):
here's a great play Chiles Escoto twonothing, just like that four and a
half minutes in the lead would continueto grow even as the crowd continued to
filter in. Tony inside Toyota Arena, the crowd was growing and growing,
but so was the lead for SanDiego. Yeah, and this is again
that same energy of being lethal andreally going and getting ahead of all opportunities
(28:59):
in early in the in the quarter. And I'm I mean, I will
you know, take your word forit, because you were down there and
you can really feel it. Onceyou're next to the boards, you understand
the dynamics, what's in the air. And so for this game to turn
out how it did something more thanspecial had to happen in or just you
know, just opportunities that the strikerstook, because look, Fabien, I
(29:21):
like Fabien. I'll give him that. I like what's happening with him individually.
Nineteenth goal right there of the season, goal in every match, but
the Soccers come right back. Chilesnets one all of a sudden three points
for Chiles in the first quarter. The folks in the front office who made
the trip were asking me before thematch, how close is he to seven
(29:41):
hundred. I said, well,he's six away right now, he's two
away after this highlight, he's twoaway because he had two goals two assists
in the first quarter to get tosix hundred ninety eight points for his career.
Just a brilliant start to the sockfor the Soccers to be up five
to one, and I really thoughtlike, oh no, Craig, you
(30:02):
aren't going to get you seven hundredon the road in Empire, are you
a spoiler? Alerty would not,But Marco Fabian here gets his second and
I stick with it. Play asthey had been defended the first time.
James puts it back in the middle, and this is where things sag a
little bit. For the soccers, who I need to now note Tony,
(30:22):
we're running mostly in two's again, playing their third match in six days,
and so that five to one lead, when it becomes five to three in
a hurry, it feels a littleprecarious because you know that the normally,
the strong foundation that the soccers havefor their fitness and their level is going
(30:47):
to be tested on this day, third match in six days, and a
lot of guys banged up. Yeah, and you get to that situation where
you're just obviously hoping that you don'tget another injury that's just going to sync
that battleship. And I think it'sa death by a thousand paper cuts that
we've seen many other teams just tocome to. And this is a situation
where whoever is out there, nextman up is going to have to step
(31:11):
up and do their best and that'snot always going to be pretty. And
look, having Boris Pardo in thegoal, that is something that is incredible
to be able to rely on inthese moments where, yeah, you don't
have the players that you might meetat the end of the day, but
Boris is going to get you coveredin net. You see it right there
through Ruggles gets completely wiped out.Might be worth going back and looking at
(31:33):
one more time. Ruggles gets cleanedout. There's no foul called on this
play. Coming up right here frombehind Dielna Claude Deelna la Francois. He
takes out Ruggles. Ruggles leaves thematch. Ruggles does not return to the
(31:55):
match after that play. Soccer's fightingtheir way for six three. Really cute
moment. There's a kid in thecorner there, That's what Kraig Childs is
pointing out. There's a kid inthe corner that kicks at the ball as
it goes across the as it goesright here. See that Candy kicked at
it. He tried to kick itout. I see you, I see
(32:15):
you, I see what you triedto do. It was really I was
seeing delightful for the second time inthe in the podcast, but it was.
It was. It was a verycute moment. Uh not so cute.
Jada Hurradro gets it to six'four. Now, this is ten
twenty left in the third and bythis point, Tony and really by the
second quarter, a real crowd hadgotten into Toyota Arena, and as you
(32:38):
noted, I'm down on the floorand I can feel the energy down to
the floor. I'm like, thisis a this is real. And so
when you start rallying like this agoal and then a second goal. Alan
Perez gets this one. You know, parto. Third match in six days,
tough situation. You feel the energysit Hourado again. Sixty six.
(33:01):
This was a crowd of forty twohundred, forty two hundred at Toyota Arena,
A legit, legit crowd. Believeme, man, I've pinged teams
for lying about their crowds and exaggeratingand embellishing. This was a real crowd,
real energy, and I'm like, they're in real trouble. But guess
what. At sixty six, herecomes our guest, wan Cho One Salazar.
(33:24):
How about it? Big celebration.Let me tell you the booze were
raining down on One Salazar from thisbig crowd as he gets all fired up
and it fires up the team. Here they come the Christian Taserta connection delivering
beautiful Wallace score for eight to six. And you do feel pretty strong at
(33:47):
this point, all the way untilfive minutes in the fourth when here's the
how tired the team is Riley.Yuri takes the ball at his own yellow
line, dribbles three guys, beatsParto. It's eight seven. I am
telling you man being down that youcan see Pino there. Pino normally cannot
run Yuri or stay right with Uriat this point in the game. These
guys, because what you didn't seein the highlight was pee wee also got
(34:10):
knocked out in the second quarter.By mid third quarter, when Max Rodriguez
had taken three fouls as the fourthdefender for San Diego, they had Mitchell,
Surda and Pino for two defensive positions, so they were running. Instead
of running in twos, they wererunning three for two and here you see
(34:31):
the end result. Fifty six secondsleft. The guys spread out, not
the energy to get back. Adribbling ball gets through Perez NEETs at it's
eight eight overtime. It should havebeen over right here. Chiles has the
win on his foot, misses it. By the way, in the fourth
quarter, Surda had the win onhis foot, didn't take a touch.
(34:53):
Great play there by a Rosco tocome out on felipe. Overtime. Soccer's
played pretty darn well in overtime, despite being so tired of Roscoe forced to
make a couple of saves, andwe get to the shootout. Three round
shootout, Childs goes first bing bomb. I mean he'll he miss it.
(35:14):
He makes it every time. It'scrazy, absolutely leth You know the shootouts,
you can definitely tell the heavy legsbecause the players, for the most
part, they can try to dribblearound and if that's their style. That's
one thing we see Escoto trying hereand almost chipping it over the goalkeeper Rod
old school. But when that youget that immediate shot, the legs are
(35:37):
just tired and you don't want tohave to have a maneuver. An extra
burst of energy there. Michael Fabianhaving words with boris good to see there.
But that's just an example of whatthese players are going through this whole
game. After overtime, your legsare done here it is up one nothing.
(35:57):
Bottom of the third part. Comingout, he was aggressive. He
came out on Fabi on shut downthe angle. He came out on James,
shut down the angle. We talkedto him right after the match,
Tony. He does his research. No one watches on the soccers more film
than Boris Pardo. He watches morefilm than any coach on this team.
(36:19):
He knows these guys, he knowstheir tendencies, he knows what to read,
he knows how to read it.And it wasn't Boris's greatest match.
He made some big saves in thefourth quarter. He had twelve out of
twenty for the game. He doesn'thave the kind of numbers that will get
him Goalkeeper of the Year this year. You know that run is going to
(36:39):
end of two in a row.But the reason you have a veteran and
the reason you have a guy inthere playing his third match in six days,
is you get to that shootout situationand you have a level of experience,
confidence, preparedness that is unparalleled inthe league and just no one you'd
(37:00):
rather have in the entire league ina situation like that than Boris Parto.
Yeah, and again it's that experienceand shootouts is a lot to have to
do with being able to be patient. Yeah, it's only five seconds,
but those five seconds either it's astandstill or they go incredibly fast and the
balls behind you before you know it. And the style that Boris has is
(37:22):
yet he tries to get out makehimself as big as possible close those angles.
So the option for a shot isgoing to be either instantaneous. The
opponent's either going to shoot quickly andit's going to bounce off his big frame,
or he's out there to his line, because then that's going to give
you the only option to either tryto dribble left or right, and then
(37:42):
you might rune out of a timeand he's quick enough to be able to
close that angle on the side.So shootouts is one of my favorite things
in indoor soccer, and the executionand style of Boris Pardo cannot be understated.
There bottom line for me three matchestriple match recap here on Soccers overtime,
My pride and joy in the team, my satisfac as Tony just disappears.
(38:08):
My satisfaction in the soccers performance justgrew and grew and grew as the
week went on. I thought Tuesdaywas, you know, a somewhat disappointing
match for San Diego. I thoughtThursday, the team was shorthanded and in
some weird ways kind of up againstthe wall in that match, and they
came through with a really representative effortdespite the circumstances. And then Sunday.
(38:30):
I mean, buddy, being downthere on the floor, it does change
your perspective. And we talk aboutit. How you know, when we
were up there in the top rowof the terraces, there's things you can
say that once you get down there, it just feels ridiculous. And I
could see the fatigue on the soccersplayers in the fourth quarter of that match
in Ontario, I mean, beyondeverything else. Craig was limping. Gutierrez
(38:53):
took a knock where he really wasstruggling to run the fourth quarter in overtime,
like struggling to run. He tooka bad knock. I think on
most nights he wouldn't have even beenout there in the fourth quarter, and
he was out there because he hadto be Pino. At one point in
overtime, Tony went down right infront of me. He went down hard,
(39:15):
and Pino was not a guy whojust lays down. And the ref
and then an opposing player and anotherplayer was like waving Kara Wikarod, who
was filling in for Paul that night, a trainer like waving her on the
field, and then the other playerswere like, no, no, stay
off, Kara, stay off,Stay off, because if she came on.
That meant Pino had to go outand had to wait until the next
(39:37):
dead ball to come back on,and like the Sockers literally couldn't afford it,
and so they wound up leaving himout there like writhing until the throbbing
went down enough for him to putweight on his foot again, and then
he just kept playing. It wascrazy pee wee and ruggles leaving in the
middle of the game already without fourof your top six players, your top
(39:59):
two scor is, your top twoplaymakers along the way, and then another
group of like four guys that gotbanged up along the game. Max Roarvegez
gets three fouls, they bench himlike the list was shortening, get shortening,
get shorting. By the end oflike are there eight guys playing for
our team right now? At theend out of sixteen? Do we have
(40:20):
like nine? Maybe? It wascrazy. So I am telling you so
many teams would have lost that match. So many teams would have lost on
Tuesday and lost on Sunday, Likeabsolutely, the team we're gonna play and
talk about later that's coming in onSunday, Kansas City, they would have
(40:43):
probably lost all three of these matches. Yeah, this week they would have
probably lost all three of these matches, and the Soccers won all three.
They took eight out of nine points. So you know, if anyone was
out there Tuesday going Craig's down onthe Soccers or Craig is too negative for
Craig and Tony, you're talking trashabout this team, Like I am telling
(41:05):
you, man up, up,Up, Up. It is how this
week went. I guess with thereverse up up up there there you go,
so it looks right on the screenjust going up that I really thought
that this club on Sunday showed methe kind of metal that you have to
have to win a title. Yeah, and it's it's stepping up right that
next band up mentality and whoever isthere is just going to have to be
(41:29):
a warrior, right like Guerrero Pino. Literally it's in his name, He's
a warrior. And that's one ofthe instances of this team really persevering,
pushing past any in all adversity, and at the end of the day,
it's it's a gutsy performance, notjust in Ontario but just overall with all
the travel, with all the situationsthat they've dealt with, so far.
Again, it's a testament to howwell this team is built to the core,
(41:52):
and a lot of it has todo with our guests coming up here.
That you great, it's fantastic,all right, We're yeah, we're
going to bring on one Salazar heremomentarily. I just do want to say
one last thing, just big shoutout to the Empire franchise. Got a
chance to talk with Gunner Burnt afterwardsa little bit. You know, always
see my boys Doc and Philly. There's Doc in the chat right now.
(42:15):
But they're really doing things well inEmpire right now. You know. They
they took a chance on faby On. You know, we took a chance
on Donovan slightly different but similar stylemove. It's paying off. They've they've
been really marketing Marco pretty well fromwhat I heard up there. Faby On
once he got on ESPN. Oncehe got he was on the Big podcast
(42:36):
right with her Gomez. Yes,yeah, And since then they've had two
crowds of close to eight thousand kumgetting into the arenas. So you know,
they're they're doing a great job upthere. They're really doing the best
job that they can obviously, youknow, three and thirteen. It's not
(42:57):
their year this year, but brightdays ahead for the Strikers franchise. Salute
us to a team that's doing thingsthe right way. Okay, let's bring
on our special guest. He isa rookie. We something completely off our
radar just a few weeks ago,a few short weeks ago. Now he
is an integral part of this club. He is the pride of Columbia.
(43:20):
He is the pride of Point LomanNazarene University. One Salazar is making his
soccers overtime debut right now. One, Craig and Tony here with you.
Thanks so much, brother, Hey, Tony, cos Craig, how are
you looks Craig. Craig also sowe can do both whatever you guys want.
(43:51):
Thank you for having me, andthank you for the invitation. I'm
really please and honor to be herewith you guys today. The pleasure is
absolutely ours. One. Well, let's start things off. Real basic team
question up top three games, threewins, six days, A lot of
miles of those legs over the courseof those three matches. How much of
(44:13):
a feeling of relief, of gratitudeto come away with eight out of nine
points? No, I mean forus, that was our goal coming into
the week. One thing they toldme here when I got here is that
the soccers don't lose, so hereexpectation is to win every game. So
for us and our preparation was allabout winning the three games. And as
(44:34):
soon as the whistle blue and Pardojust he saved the last shout out pik.
I was so happy and relieved thatwe accomplished that because that was something
that we wanted to do. Sothat was a great relief and part of
the team that we put that through, regardless of everything we are going through
with injuries and stuff that you guysmay mention before. Yeah, and it
(44:55):
took a lot of by everybody. It's a team effort and your contribution here
on Sunday, well that celebration upon Artario. Could you just take us
through that moment and and what youyou were going through with you know,
a couple of hand gestures, youwere talking to yourself, you're talking to
everybody, a little bit of this, a little bit of this, you
know, just dig it through thatmoment. Yeah, it was just like
(45:17):
you said, it was just firstof all, it's an emotional game for
me. Every day, I'm provingmyself to the team and the coaches because
I want to be part of thisorganization and I want to be part of
the team, and I want tohelp the team as much as I can.
Uh. And then the game justtook a different route and we were
winning six three, and then weend up tie game six to six.
(45:39):
And then I shoot the ball withmy right foot and it goes in,
and I was like just trying topush my team, bring it up because
I know that we can win. These games. Used to bring some energy,
and then I started to hear likeyou said, everybody's boo boo boo,
and then I was like, getout of here. Pretty much,
that's what I said. So II was pretty happy to help the team
(46:01):
and put a little bit of alittle seed to help win the game.
But it was a great effort bythe whole team. We're gonna get into
your you know, youth and gettinghere to America and getting to college and
then of course to the pros. But here you are. You're you're in
the MAASL. You're with the SanDiego Soccers, the flagship franchise in the
(46:22):
history of indoor soccer. Seventeen championships, six modern championships, two in the
last three years. I could goon in terms of, you know,
the win and loss record, everythingelse. For this club, it's a
team of veterans. One you knowthis. It's a team of players with
years of experience playing indoor, yearsof experience playing together. You were a
(46:43):
young pup. None of them knewyour name. Like a month ago before
you played in a futsal exhibition. So what has this journey been for you?
What has it been like to mixinto a team like this and try
and find your footing. I meaneverything has been a new experience for me.
I never played indoor before. Ofcourse I played indoor with friends,
(47:04):
but never at this level, neverwith this pressure and then this responsibility.
And when I got here, Iwas able to see the quality of the
team right away. The first gameI watched it was December thirtieth against the
Tacoma Stars. I was in thestands watching that game, and I had
like two days of practice. Iwas like, wow, like these guys
are so good. Every single oneis like I was like, I don't
(47:28):
even know if I can do thisif a money is with you at this
level, But I stay positive andthen I think that's because I'm doing good,
is because I am around so manygreat players. And I got to
give credit to my teammates because they'vebeen super friendly with me and they actually
been taking care of me and helpingme understand the game and situations of the
game and how everything works out.So having closed, being closed with Craig
(47:53):
and turas Brand and Charlie Costa Taboy, all those guys with so much experience
that they just bring me that experienceevery day and then I can learn about
the game. But it's it's great. I mean, I'm playing with one
of some of the best players inthe league every day, So that's that's
(48:14):
a blessing for me. Yeah. And you know, in talking about this
bringing new stuff into the fray, you also brought something new I imagine from
p L and you your style ofsoccer into the transition into the indoor game.
What is that transition bin like intothe pro indoor soccer. Uh,
you're mentioning that you played with friends. Did you play at the Peninsula YMCA
(48:37):
pretty you know, beat up fieldout there. It's one of those things
that indoor soccer players around the townknow that that's one of the places that
has open gates and you can maybehop a gate or to get some reps
in no I. I used toI played on this because I live in
Samrco. So I just play aMonday league in Escondido. Used to play,
(49:00):
but that was it. But thetransition is it's been it's been challenging
for me because I I've always beenplaying outdoor and I've always been a winger,
so my position is out wide inthe field with a lot of one
bwe attacking opportunities, speed crossing, shooting from outside. So here I had
to kind of change my game alittle bit and transition into playing in the
(49:22):
midfield or like this week I wasI was told by by the coach to
play up top. So it's differentthings that I haven't been used to.
But I my my willingness to learnand to just help the team helps me
at least get to get through thegames and score go here and there and
help the team win. So butit's been a challenging transition for me.
(49:44):
But every every day I feel likeI'm getting better and I feel that I'm
getting more into the indoor world,so I'm getting more into the game.
So I'm excited for that. Ican thank you. Every once in a
while, I mute myself just becausebecause I like to mess up the show.
(50:07):
It's just a little little little goblinmove. Uh No, what what
I was just saying is that,uh, there's many a journey of many
steps to become a great indoor player. There are so many things to learn
and to to incorporate into your playingstyle and also into your metabolism, which
(50:27):
leads me to my next question.Playing outdoor, obviously there's a much bigger
pitch, there's much further to run, but there's also many moments where you
might be walking on the field, whereas in indoor you gotta go out there
and you gotta burn, baby burn, and then you gotta burn out of
there, then you're gonna come back. What have you found in terms of
the fatigue factor the difference between outdoorand indoor. I'm gonna be really honest
(50:52):
with you guys. I've never beenmy legs have never been so shocked.
But after playing in there at thislevel, I've never filled it type of
tiredness ever, And I've played inreally high level games, but I've never
felt that my legs are actually gonnagive out in the middle of the game.
And actually happened to me on Thursdaywhen I was cut up on a
defensive play and then I had todefend for like a minute and a half.
(51:15):
And then that's why I think aboutpeople like Christian like Gutierres, because
he's always running and defending in thein the offensive line, so he's always
doing that hard work, and it'slike it's so hard, so challenging,
and as soon as I realize I'vebeen working on my finness little by little
different now because now I have tounderstand that it is a minute, but
(51:36):
it's one hundred percent all you cando and then go and rest and then
go again. Wow. Like yousaid, in outdoor, you do a
sprint, but then while the ballson the other side, you have some
time to rest and to jog andmaybe walk. But here there's no time
for anything. You have to goone hundred percent and not just physically but
mentally, so focus every single timebecause you have to follow your guy.
(51:58):
You have to know the path, you have to know the movement. Everything
is so fast. It's it's great. I'm enjoying it. It's fun.
It's really fun to play too. When I started getting it. At first,
I was a little first earty becauseI didn't understand anything what was going
on and practices and h But thenI'm getting it a little by little and
I'm getting I'm enjoying it way morenow. I feel you there in the
(52:22):
fitness factor. I played my firstindoor imagine a year, and my quads
are on fire. I can barelywalk. So in the same but different
Juan Pedal. I mean, thiswhole game in a sense is different from
the outdoor game. You were saying. You know, you're a winger,
you're striker at times up front, right, but the defending somebody else has
to take care of that. What'sit been like now having to be a
(52:43):
defender? You're essentially it is apretty matter of defense that you're the first
defender whenever possession is lost or itstarts going the other way. What's that
been like now, transitioning and defendinggone walls and all these different elements.
Yeah, I mean the wolves issomething that I've been getting used to.
Of Course, everybody knows there's wallsin outdoor, so you have to kind
of be aware of the pass andalso the wall stuff like that. Like
(53:07):
I said, even outdoor, Iwasn't a good defender. I was the
type of winger that I would likejust kind of shade defend and kind of
look that I'm doing my job defensively. Just because I knew that I was,
my attacking abilities was going to kindof make for that defensive part.
But here, now here is that'snot the case. You have to commit.
You have to offend one hundred percent, and and really it's it's also
(53:30):
not just all the running, butalso know when to run, how to
follow your guy, and the communication. So it's been challenging, but like
you said, a little by little, day by day, I'm getting better,
and I'm grateful for the opportunities I'mgetting as a rookie, as a
first year, and grateful with thecoaching sself for giving me the chances to
be playing in these games and likeI said, helping the team to keep
(53:53):
winning these games and win the championship, which is the main goal that everybody
haves. Know, I think apoint of pride for the organization one is
that you are a graduate of thecollege Draft. This is something that is
new in MASL. It's an opportunityfor college players like yourself, and of
course you helped lead Point Loma tothe first men's conference title this past season.
(54:16):
You were all packed west. Youhad a great year coming from cal
State San Marcos and transferring over toPoint Loan Nazarene. What what was your
time like at on the Peninsula? Now, Poloma was the best thing that
could have happened to me. WhenI joined Poloma, I was one of
the lowest moments of my life becauseI didn't have a team at the I
(54:37):
played for three years a Castasa Marcus, but I decided to transfer. Uh,
just because I'm personal things and stuff. But I when I went,
Phil and Brett called me the headcoach and the seistant coach for Poloma.
I was with no team. Iwas playing your PSL. I was feeling
really down. I was like,I don't know if this is going to
(54:57):
end up happening. And they gaveme the opport tunity. So I joined
in the spring of twenty twenty threeand then I played the whole year with
them. But Poinoma is the mostbeautiful campus I've ever seen. We have
our field right by the beach,so or or view with the ocean,
so we will train on the fall, we'll do like four thirty training,
so we will like end up trainingin the sunset. So this is like
(55:20):
the movies and stuff like, thisis beautiful. And then my teammates were
great. I got along with everybodyreally well. And the trainings and Poloma
just prepare me for what I amtoday and soccer wise made me a professional
and hope now I am one.So thanks thanks to them, I'm here
for sure. Kind of want togo off script just a little bit as
(55:44):
far as like your your friends, your pals growing up, like, who
don't really see you know, footballRapid or Football foot Sale, it's not
really that brand. What do youhow do you explain this type of soccer
to them? Is that something that'sintriguing them? People are like, okay,
I might want to give us atry, bring some more Columbian talent,
and what what are those conversations?Like, Yeah, in Colombia we
(56:05):
have a lot of futsalt, futsaland like micro football, so it's like
like a street street like uh streettype of game futsal, but we don't
have anything like indoor. You see, like Mexico has the two professional teams,
Monterey and Chiuagua. Like, wedon't have any professional indoor back in
Colombia. So how I explain thatto my friend is like retas but really
(56:28):
high high high, high high level. It's like because we play six,
we six a lot over there, but just for fun. You know.
It's like no rules, there's nothree lines, there's not like you have
to follow you guys. You justdo whatever you want to do and play
just because you want to stay inshape or you want to train. I
just explain to them it's like playingwith your friends, but at an extremely
high level, a professional level, where you have people watching you and you
(56:51):
expect to do your best every day. So that's that's kind of how I
explained to them. But theyf youwatching the games and they see like it's
fun, it's fast. You haveto be super technical to see you making
fast, it's it's really hard. It's definitely really hard. Well, I
love it, and the crowd inthe chat is loving your honest answers as
well. Won You've been a bighit on the show here so far.
(57:14):
Last thing I'll leave you with, what what have you been most impressed by
so far? It could be anopponent's move, It could be anything,
but just being in the M As L. So far as a young
pro, what spens what's been themost impressive to you? No, I
think it's just the way uh theplayers use the bottom or the food to
get away from situations and escapes. It's I'm something never seen like that.
(57:38):
Like in outdoor you're not used touse the bottom of your food too much
because you don't want to stop theball. You just want to take your
first search direction into a space. Not be that way. You can be
that defender right here is like holdingthe ball and using the bottom of your
food to kind of move the ballone side or turn or like fake this
guy this side and go to theother side. And I see a lot
(57:59):
of player do it, like myteam Charlie does it a lot to do
a lot of costa so good doingthat. And I'm every day trying to
implement, like do that in trainingand stuff. It's hard. It's hard
for me, but that's one ofthe things, the way they use the
bottom or the food. I wantto get to that level so I can
use the bottom of my food thatway, so I can create chances to
score and to pass. That's that'sone of the things. I'll be like,
(58:20):
Wow, I want to I wantto get to that level for sure.
Oh my god, I love thisso much. I mean yeah,
just hang out with Lao and Charlie. Charlie the pass, show me everything
that you do, show me everyone of these moves. You will be
putting up forty goals in a heartbeat. One listen, incredible debut here on
Soccer's Overtime. I'll be on themic on the PA at snap Dragon on
(58:45):
Wednesday is Columbia takes on Panama andthe Coca caf W Gold Cup tomorrow,
So I don't know if you're cango cheer on your your female countrymen tomorrow
afternoon, but I'll be out thereat the snap But I can't wait to
see you on the floor on Sunday. Best of luck for all of our
fans here, and thank you somuch for your time now. It's my
(59:06):
pleasure, guys, and thank youfor having me. And I look forward
to you know, keep doing mybest in the training ground and in the
in the field to to help thisteam win and get two guys, know
you a little bit a little more. And I'm the organization O Bro and
all defense I do want to sayone thing before you guys, just want
to say thank you to Defense andeverybody watching, because they've been super welcoming
(59:28):
with me and and super super nicein the games and even on my debut.
And I mean it was my firsttime signing autographs and being with the
kids, so that that was greatfor me. So I just want to
say thank you for all defans andI look forward to seeing you more.
Thank you. I love it,straight from the heart. One thank you
so much of a greatmans of yournight. Thank you guys. Oh wow,
(59:51):
great stuff man Wan Salazar, Wowwow, wow wow. But I
think these two back to back stellarinterviews. Not to hate on any body
else that's been on this season sofar or any before, but I've really
just it's it's touched my soccer purehardness in many ways. And and what
interesting just insight right like the bottomof the foot, it just makes sense
(01:00:14):
like there's no cleats, you aremore tactile, like it's just it just
makes so much sense. And andwow, just a great insight there.
So fine you're gonna say about though, incredible stuff, great stuff all the
way around. Yeah, yeah, you think about the inside of the foot
you think about the top right, you think about the toepot, you think
(01:00:37):
about that outside. But guess what, the ball of your can wind up
being the thing that controls the ballthe absolute most uh in indoor. Brilliant,
brilliant, ten out of ten.No notes. Great appearance by Wan
Salazar. Let's get through the restof the show. We did start an
hour late today. Let's get tom ASL news. Did everyone stay up
(01:01:00):
length? We got some ten o'clockerslistening out in Baltimore. We got some
nine o'clockers in case I'm not sure, but either way, Commissioner's Office,
saludos from all of us. It'salways great to have you back on the
show. Woof almost Chiuaba almost lostto someone other than Monterey, Kansas City
(01:01:21):
coming close to two all the waytill overtime, and then in less than
thirty seconds the Savage win. Andyet another example, Tony, of one
of these two Mexican sides so farthey are undefeated. Norte de la Frontera
(01:01:42):
Chihuahua wins it three to two,and Kansas City has pushed both Monterey and
Chihuaba to overtime. On their bluefloor at Cable Do Arena and they have
come away with only one point eachtime. Oh so Impressivejanoni and the Savage.
Yeah, and this is the teamthat from the Savage first sees me
from a comment stat it really looksto be the team that can take it
to anybody in this league. Andso they can seemingly turn it on.
(01:02:06):
But what Savage has done and GenoniMartinez the Hippas is is nothing sort of
incredibly impressive that that record is stillstanding still. And there's a reason why
they took it to San Diego sohard. This is a good team.
They have the components, they havethe structure, they have a great way
of playing, a great mentality andhonestly, they're gonna be a challenge down
the line, and that's gonna bethe team that you're gonna have to watch
(01:02:29):
the most film on. So forChuwaba, we know, I mean,
you know, I'm not here tojust keep giving them roses every single week.
They're not unbeatable. The soccers canbeat you well, the soccers can
beat Monoey, The soccers can beatanybody. There's no perfect team in this
league. But the Savage, youare playing so very well. They're just
(01:02:51):
they look composed. They are takingcare of their situations. They are handling
their business and I'm very impressed witha Chiwaba Savage. Don't worry in the
chat injury updates coming up. We'regetting close to soccers news. But on
the Kansas City side, you know, comments coming to town, comments coming
(01:03:12):
west to play US and to playEmpire coming out of the Golden State.
Pretty interesting. I don't know ifyou saw this, Tony, but you
know, John Sosa is a kidthat I've followed. He's not a kid,
he's a parent, he's an adult. He is a guy that I
have followed on Facebook since we wereteammates in that I was announcing the US
World Cup team in the in theWMF World Cup in twenty fifteen when we
(01:03:37):
were going around the country in theUnited States and ever since then. You
know, he went to the SoccersI think a year later, so you
know, we followed each other onFacebook. You know, I follow his
family and over the weekend, JohnSosa, who is still second in the
MASL and assists this year, putup a Facebook post saying my time with
(01:03:59):
the comments is done, thank youto the organization, etc. So on
and so forth. But that heis no longer an indoor player for the
Kansas City Comets. I did reachout to a source with Kansas City today
to confirm that, and they saidthat, you know, you will continue
to see John Sosa on the rosterfor the Comets, but you will not
(01:04:21):
see him on the floor for thecomments probably the rest of the year.
Another player who is I don't knowif he's in the same situation, but
he is on the roster and notplaying and not hurt is Leo Gibson,
who used to be the head coachand is one of the four hundred point
club and is the all time Cometsleading scorer and is kind of mister Comet.
(01:04:46):
And Gibson is not playing in thatmatch against Chihuaba. Zach Regitt,
who is playing, hit a goalfor two to two, and his celebration
was to pull his shin guards outof his leg and put them up to
the crowd. And one of themhad fourteen written on it, which is
Leo Gibson's number, and the otherhad nineteen written on it, which is
John Sosa's number. So something's goingon there. We are not privy to
(01:05:13):
the drama that is happening in KansasCity. But the fact that Casey has
gone from seven to one to eightand ten, and I'm counting the four
overtime losses. I'm just counting winsand losses here. They're eight, six
and four, They're eight and ten. They've lost nine out of ten games.
This corresponds with Gibson and Sosa, the two veterans who know the most
(01:05:39):
on that team, no longer playingfor the club. So mysteries abound in
the MAASL. But to me,I think there's a pretty direct correlation between
Sosa and Gibson not being on thefloor and Kansas City going from a team
that wins close games to a teamthat loses is every close game they play?
(01:06:01):
Yeah, and we did hear justthat there might be some sort of
happenings that the players are privy tothat we are not. That just kind
of puts the comments in a headspacethat isn't conducive to playing well. And
that's ultimately what this league and everythingthat we cover is about, is that
if it's not if it's affecting thewins and losses affecting the games, it
(01:06:23):
has to be I hope reported Andthat's not always a case and whatever is
happening over there is clearly now seepedinto a point where it's affected not just
the play on the field, butjust across the board. And yeah,
no soccer players writing numbers and dedicatinggoals is definitely a happening of some sort.
So we'll see how that develops asit keeps going. You know,
(01:06:47):
I'm just seeing something in the chat. I didn't have it in the menu,
but I think it does bear mentioning. You know, Empire, the
soccers lost or beat Empire, andPower loss to the soccers. Stephan Meetovich
didn't play for Empire on Sunday. He was also not hurt. I don't
have anything I can report on Soccer'sovertime on this, but I did hear.
(01:07:11):
I did hear secondhand that was notan injury situation for Stephan Miatovich.
And it's not a discipline situation eitherfor Stephan miatovid So whether it is a
dispute, okay, they said onthe broadcast he's no longer a member of
the team. Well, there yougo, there you go. So something
happened and there was a parting ofthe ways with a I don't know,
(01:07:34):
the second best player on Empire.Other than Barbara or other than Fabian.
Barbara just came out. There's Barbarato see that. Sorry, sometimes something
pops that I just say it.Other than fabi On, maybe the second
best player on the team, MiaTobit. So you know the drag situation.
But these things happen in sports allthe time, and when the money
(01:07:56):
isn't at the level of the bigleagues, the idea of walking away becomes
a lot more realistic. Yeah, and again it's it's part of this growth
of the league itself. Where it'dbe it'd be really nice to really have
that sort of attention and coverage andwarranted and have people on the beat to
make sure that these things don't gounnoticed. But that's the nature of where
(01:08:20):
them s L is right now,and hopefully it grows into that position as
it keeps going to have these storiesout there, not just the same story
twice on the m s L page. And yes, I apologize, I
was not privy to the broadcast becauseI was at the match Sunday and Ontario,
(01:08:41):
so I did not get the chanceto go back through the whole match
and watch it through. So Idid not hear that that that Philly and
the Doc addressed it, but youknow, shout out to them, kudos
to them for doing so. SoYeah, weird stuff happening along the way
for some star players. Meanwhile, guess who's taking advantage Baltimore the team that
(01:09:01):
started the year out with weird stuffwith van Zella and weird comments from lawyers
and Max, Ferdinand and Roque allbeing pushed off of the team and then
starting off so terribly and losing toeverybody along the way. And now see,
I knew you were lurking, Brad. I knew you were your geo.
(01:09:24):
Whoever's in the goals and boards,Oh it's Brad, Okay, Yeah,
I said I would wear a Blastjersey on the show if they made
the playoffs this year, and I'mhere to tell you they're probably gonna make
it. I just want to sayto all of the folks in Baltimore,
(01:09:48):
you're welcome. The broadcaster curse canalso be a broadcaster spell. I'm an
outstanding wizard and I might have spelledcast you right back into the playoffs for
the tenth time in ten years. In the MASL thirteen to six Blast over
Utica. Ricardo die Guess, exof Florida gets five goals. Early goalkeeper
(01:10:15):
Mike Zierhoffer throws in a hat trickin the fourth quarter. The most insane
stat that it's ridiculous. Stop playingon a basketball court, Baltimore. Give
me a break. It's not evena hard throw. Yeah, it just
rolls in. And you know,I'm enjoying the celebrations for zero Hoffer two.
(01:10:36):
And it's it's a part of thegame that that is available as a
goalkeeper. I would have loved to, you know, play throwing destines from
a goal, but you know,it's it's an element that exists. You
know, the other goalkeeper can alsodo the same, but you know,
it's just different. Different situations aresituational. I think I've said that before,
The situations are situational. This situationwas hilarious. I mean, I've
(01:10:59):
seen and Zella throwing enough goals.I've seen Boris throwing a goal in Sonora
before. I mean, you cando it. But throwing in a hat
trick, like at some point, just put a keeper back in do us
a favorite? That's pretty incredible.I mean, yes, absolutely, A
hockey goalie scoring is one hundred timesx on an indoor keeper throwing in a
(01:11:21):
hat trick, because it's just that'sall that means is you played in Baltimore.
All that really means is you playeda match in Baltimore, because every
match in Baltimore offers the keeper theopportunity at least to throw in a goal.
Uh. And then if you're ifyou're goofy and you just keep rolling
sixth attacker down ten eleven and twelveto six, yeah, you can throw
(01:11:43):
in a hat trick for that matter. Just ridiculous. But listen, I
voted for Zieroffer for Keeper of theLead of the Week, and I voted
for Diegas for Player of the Weekas well, because I mean, those
are great performances. Five goals forDiegas. Listen, they've they collected peiris,
They've collected da I guess they've collectedit, maybe enough tropics to push
them over the top. Yeah,And look, we were talking about early
(01:12:06):
in the season and looking at somevideos and maybe that stuff worked. The
hype was real and it was justa concoction for success and it's leading in
a positive direction. Obviously, someother teams need to do some some losing
and putting up thirteen to a UNICAteam that has you know, has some
talent. Isn't easy. But Ithink what's going on in Baltimore is just
(01:12:30):
one of the situations where they neverwant to really miss playoffs and that just
they they're getting it done somehow, and it's it might be one of those
streaks that just happens. The Undertakerwent twenty one to zero for WrestleMania's maybe
you know, we can have thesame thing here for Baltimore Blasts. Never
missing a playoff. Hey, Imean, I just have to accept the
(01:12:55):
realistic possibility that this is going tohappen. I'm looking at the Blast schedule
right now. Milwaukee is coming tothe Baby Baby Field. They do go
to Utica. That could they couldlose three in a row. At the
beginning of March. They go toUtica, Chihuahua, and Monterey. They'll
certainly lose the two games south ofthe border. They could lose at Utica.
That could be three straight losses. But they've got two heat games three
(01:13:19):
heat games on the schedule the restof the year. They go to Texas.
That could be tough depending on whatlevel of team the Outlaws have.
They host Dallas that's an auto dubthey're probably winning all four of their home
matches the rest of the way.So if they win all four of their
(01:13:41):
home matches, if they lose thefour tough road matches but beat the Heat
twice, well okay, that's sixwins. That's eighteen points that would put
That would put Baltimore eighteen more pointsat thirty nine. And I think we
talked about that. That means ThatansasCity has to find four wins out of
the last six matches in their scheduleto make the playoffs. Well, I'm
(01:14:06):
here to tell you that they playthe Soccers twice in their last six So
if unless they're gonna beat the Soccers, they're gonna have to sweep their other
four matches to make the playoffs. Those other four matches are at Empire,
host Saint Louis, host Utica,at Saint Louis. They can do it.
(01:14:29):
They can sweep those four games. So you're telling me there's a chance,
I'm telling you there's a chance. And if they beat us, if
they beat us on March twenty third, goalsen boards for the first time in
the history of the podcast, makesure this goes up on the screen.
Tony's saying, go soccers. Savethat, Save that clip, Save that
(01:14:50):
clip for all time. I justwant that in the future. I want
that for future set, future reference. That's beautiful right now down there,
just so we can and just takea screenshot. Boom, no soccer there,
it is there, it is.So that's a ton of fun.
(01:15:11):
Okay, hey, you know it'sreal. It's real. Baltimore wins one
of their tough road matches. Theyare almost a shoe in to make the
playoffs if they only do the minimum, beat Harrisburg twice on the road and
win their four remaining home games. It means Kansas City has to get at
(01:15:35):
least four point at least four winsat the last six regulation wins at that
matter, they need all the points. So it's gonna get dicey. And
this is the race in the East. I don't think there's any other race
other than if you're excited about twoversus three. You know who has home
field in the first round of thejunior matchup. That's it. The West
(01:15:58):
is decided, obviously. Uh,you know, it's just a matter and
it's going to sort this way.Chihuahua is going to finish second, So
it's just a matter of whether Texasor Tacoma finishes third or fourth. But
this is the race. One ofthese two teams isn't gonna make it.
Baltimore and Kansas City, and it'sgonna be a lot of fun to see
how it shakes out down the road. Yeah, I would hate to,
(01:16:19):
you know, say, I don'twant to see it happen, just just
for the chaos of it, justbecause it does make it a little bit
of fun, and you might geta free jersey out of it, Craig,
They're gonna send me a Venmo request, you know that. I'm gonna
see it. I'm gonna get mystance to make if it's jersey, and
I'll be like legitimately okay about it, And I'm gonna get a Venmo request
(01:16:42):
for one seventy five from d Hale. I love that. Oh can't can't
let the week escape without tweaking thenose of the stars. Sorry Taco Masters,
you lost to Dallas. Just abelly a a young king laugh.
(01:17:09):
It's just a grim night from theMSL is what they said in Tacoma when
when the ball went in for blasparensA grim night. Oh man, where
(01:17:31):
was coast on the play. Washe on side? Somebody check on Coasta.
We have video, The angles havebeen sent. We're never trying to
show you the video, but wehaven't. Sorry, Taco Master playing without
(01:17:53):
Chris Toth, playing with an injuredNick Pereira. It's fine, it's touff.
Yeah, tough, tough, tough, tough night, tough night for
the Taco Masters. It's okay.It was a grim night, though.
It was a grim night for justa sad night dark cloud. This week,
(01:18:21):
Uh, is Monterey ever gonna lose? Probably not, probably never,
But you know, I kind offeel like they've got a half chance to
lose this weekend because it's one thingto to just truck over the line to
Texas or to to to go up, but they've got a northeast trip this
week. They're gonna be cold,They're gonna have to play two games in
(01:18:43):
a weekend. It starts at Harrisburg. I mean, you know, honestly,
Moneraly should kill Harrisburg obviously, Butthen the Sunday game, it's the
afternoon kicker against Utica at twelve o'clockWest Coast start. You know, I
put that on the list of mayberight, like probably not probably never.
But here's a five match road tripfor the Flash, and you know,
(01:19:09):
if they could just find a wayto kick two games, then all of
a sudden, the Shield would bein play. I don't think it's gonna
happen. I doubt it'll happen.But if there was a spot, I
would say Sunday at Utica would bea spot. You could look at that
game, and you could look atthe Savage match and go, well,
(01:19:31):
it's not impossible for them to dropthose matches. Yeah. And on the
converse there, if they go throughand win every single one of these matches,
get every single one of those points, I mean you just have to,
you know, take your hat off, because that's a performance and that
just seals it. Right. Likewe've been talking about the travel that the
soccers have done, and we've beentalking about how grueling these matches have been.
(01:19:54):
Finishing off away at Chihuahua, it'sgonna be a real test of this
team. And look, if theydo go in and just absolutely keep destroying,
keep taking care of business like theyhave all props do them, and
that's gonna be all she wrote. But there is that chance. I do
like also just the agent of chaos, callum, watch just watch them lose
(01:20:15):
in Dallas. Sure, sure, sure, I'm not even gonna I was
about to make another bet. I'mnot even gonna bother. I'll do it.
I will buy a Sidekicks jersey.I will, I will go.
I'll be in Houston at some point. They're close, right from what I've
been told about that. Yeah,I'm sure the team store has it.
(01:20:41):
That's beautiful. I think I've stillgot someone. The last time, or
in twenty nineteen, when I wentto Dallas, someone gave me a sidekick
scarf. I think I have asidekick scarf somewhere in the house. So
if they beat Monterey, I willI will proudly display the sidekick scarf up
here on the subsequent Soccer's overtime broadcast. I can promise you that that wraps
(01:21:02):
up m ASL News. Kansas Citycomes West. We talk about that,
all right, Soccer's News. Here'shere's our injury round up. Here's where
we are as of now, asas the best information I have as of
Tuesday, February twenty best news.Leonardo Deo Rivera warmed up Sunday at Toyota
(01:21:23):
Arena. I actually thought he wasgoing to play. They did the safe
thing, they held him out.I'd say he's probably eighty percent barring a
you know, setback of some sortover the next five days. I'd say
he's eighty percent or more to playSunday against Kansas City and to be back
in the lineup. It's just been, you know, a rough thing.
(01:21:44):
He missed those five matches with theknee. He came back, We've had
this really heavy minutes load, workload, and after that Tuesday match where Leo
had to run in Tues where twoof his teammates on the offense and the
attack side were out in the secondquarter, it was just a little bit
too much for him, too fast. Yeah, it's that low's management with
Leo where we saw him even atthat away match in Chihuahua, where you
(01:22:06):
know, sometimes you got to taketo see who's even going to play.
In those matches, he was playinghurt, He wasn't playing one hundred percent
anywhere near, but it was amatch where the soccers felt like him being
in there would give them a betterchance to do that. And so I
think that was an opportunity for somerest if they didn't have a chance to
really take it to Chihuahua. Butwe saw what he was able to do,
(01:22:29):
not at his best health wise, and he got himself two goals.
So if this is going to bea healthier Layo coming back, that's nothing
but positive news. Just kind ofbringing that calmness on the ball, that
bottom of the footness that one thousandwas talking about, like that's the personification
of that type of play is withLeo Androturos and there and hopefully hopefully he
(01:22:49):
had more more good news anything else. Well, when I saw the boys
up in Ontario on Sunday, Iasked our injured players, you know,
situation in their words, when theythought they'd be back, And Charlie Gonzalez
said to me he thought he wouldplay this Sunday against Kansas City. Now
(01:23:09):
Leo thought he would play last Sundayin Ontario. So would I be surprised
if the Sockers kind of took thesame path, had him a week behind
Leo, had him go through warmups on Sunday and then not play.
That could happen, you know,it all depends on how things shake out
over the next four or five days. But Charlie is probably fifty to fifty
(01:23:31):
to be in the lineup. Andby the way, so I gave him
the chat too. When I wassaying Lao's eighty eighty five percent, I
don't mean his overall health. Imeant his chance to be in the lineup.
So I think that's his opportunity toplay is eighty eighty five percent.
If Charlie isn't one hundred percent,he should sit because April matters a lot
(01:23:55):
more than late February, especially theway things are shaking out right now where
it looks like Monterey will win theShield. So I agree with the sentiment
let the players get healthy. TuVoi told me it would be at least
another week that he's targeting the startof March, so you know that March
third chihuaba game. I think allthese players, Leo, Charlie, Ta
(01:24:19):
Voi, they want to be readyfor that match. They want to be
ready for that Chihuahua match on Marchthird. Anything that happens between here and
there is a bonus. They playthe Comets or in free Fall and they
play Empire. So you know,I feel like this club can win even
without our top players against those clubs. But I think you're gonna see at
(01:24:44):
least one of them back this week, if not two, and I think
you could even see two or threeback by the Empire game. But it's
really the Chihuahua match Tony that Ithink these guys are truly targeting. Yeah,
and that's one that they want backbecause that's something that is going to
really put the confidence into the andthe momentum into the team where they know
there's no team in the West thatcan even close yes their first place,
(01:25:06):
but you still have that semi blackguy because you didn't beat Chihuahua and haven't
beat them yet, So that's gonnadefinitely be a circle on the calendar.
And at this point of the season, it's just health as wealth. That
is the most you know, themost potent currency that the soccers need to
have in mind. And I thinkthey're being incredibly smart with load managing and
(01:25:27):
just taking it slow and if needbe, breaking case of emergency. But
as for right now with the situations, I think playing the long game is
a smart play here and peaking atthe right time because again, you still
need that chemistry to be there. You can't just throw them right out of
the gate. You need to makesure that the situations are right for everybody,
and I think that if we dosee either Leo or Charlie back,
(01:25:49):
that's gonna be a huge push atleast for everybody that's been contributing so far.
And you know, guys a depth, guys like Sean Callahan who got
injured, you know, with aACL earlier this year. Those are the
guys you really miss in these situationsbecause you'd be like, Okay, Charlie's
out, but we got Sean. We're fine, We're settled. The difference
(01:26:10):
is there's no soccers too this year. So when you look at the young
kids like Quentin Ivy or Ed Willlet you know, even Jan Salazar for
that matter, Max Rodriguez, theseare young guys that would be able to
play practice, gaming and game outweek in and week out for soccers too,
and then get the call up whenneed be. And instead it's a
(01:26:31):
tough call for Phil Silvagio and cheekyLuna to say, well, you know,
we're just gonna flood the lineup withall of these rookies, you know,
Julian Garcia, etc. We're gonnajust put all of these rookies in
the lineup and let them play KansasCity's putting a lot of rookies in their
lineup. They've lost nine out often matches. Their whole season has been
tanked. You know, the soccersway has been like, Nope, we're
(01:26:54):
not gonna play the rookies. We'regonna play the veterans even harder, and
we're gonna play them longer, andwe're gonna play them more. So it's
it's a sticky, wicked If youhad that M two, if you had
that second team, I feel likeyou'd have a lot more reliability bringing these
kids up. But the soccers havebeen in a period with very few practices,
and it's difficult to just go,hey, all right, five rookies
(01:27:16):
go into the lineup. We're goingto survive this because those could be the
mistakes that cost you the match. And overall, just the pathway towards being
a soccer isn't easy, right,Like, it has to be the right
fit to make that team, andobviously, if the players are there with
the talent that they have right now, there's no way of showcasing it outside
(01:27:38):
of those trainings. And you evenheard, like you said, Kwan Salasar
saying like I'm here to prove myself. I'm here because I need to get
better, and that's what he's workingthrough. He's getting some minutes and that's
a testament to his talent and hislevel of play right now, right off
the gate, not knowing the gameitself and learning as he goes. But
ultimately, like look looking at thatsoccer team last year too, is yeah,
(01:28:00):
they didn't do so well, butthat experience is incredibly invaluable, and
just that real time, you know, just setting foot at the arena,
it's the same field, the samesame area, same boards. You get
that experience, but that's just notthere, and it's not a matter of
wanting to risk that. It's notit's not the smart play. At this
point, there's still longer in theinjury update. At least an SD wants
(01:28:25):
to know that we're going to keepgoing. It's we're only halfway through.
So sorry, uh, Gabriel Costasee him with the with the cast on.
Still he's got at least another twothree weeks with that cast on.
Once the cast comes off, hecan get back into practice, he can
get back into fitness. So thesoccer is realistically for co star targeting.
(01:28:45):
I haven't heard this but I wouldguess like the Milwaukee Kansas City road trip,
which is the week before the finalweekend of the season, I think
that would be a fairly realistic timeto try and get Coasta back, to
try and get him a couple threegames before the playoffs, to get his
legs underneath him, And then thatbrings us to pee Wee and to Drew
(01:29:06):
Ruggles. Pee Wee is just awalking wounded fife and drum corps of his
own. I heard one of thetrainers talking about It's like, it's what
part of him isn't banged up rightnow? He is just a walking mash
unit. So I'm pretty sure thatPee Wee is going to be out this
(01:29:32):
week. I don't have an officialword on that, but just from what
I've seen now, he's as toughan sob as exists on the club.
So if he did play, Iwill equally not be surprised, but I
would I would personally pencil him out. And we showed you the play that
(01:29:53):
Drew just got his ankle smashed.I wouldn't be surprised if they're both out
this week, But stay tuned. There is a week to recover. There's
a week for Paul Savage to dohis magic and all of the technology to
do its magic. So not impossible, but I'd say personally, I'd say
doubtful for both those guys this week. And I think once again, you
(01:30:16):
just need to be really targeting Marchthird as the next Circle of the Wagons
game, and then guys who aren'thurt, like out of the lineup hurt.
But yes, Craig Chiles is bangedup. Yes, he tweaked himself
on Tuesday and played through it.Guerrero Pino got smashed at the end of
(01:30:38):
the game. He was barely makingit through the match at the end.
Christian Gutierez took a major knock inthe fourth quarter in Ontario. He was
having a hard time moving in overtimeand he toughed it out. Flavio Guzman
came to this team with a badhamstring and has been negotiating it through four
(01:30:59):
matches in ten days. If anyonecould use just two weeks off, it's
probably Flavio Guzman, and he's notgonna get it because he's one of the
only guys that's available, So youknow, Leo, Charlie Duvoi, Costa,
Drew Pee, Wee, Chiles,Pinot, Christian that's ten guys.
It's a sixteen man team, it'sa twenty man roster, and that's ten
(01:31:25):
guys that have something going on.So you know, it's crazy how fast
this can happen. But then whenyou get to three matches in six days,
it's not crazy. It's only it'sonly crazy that when you don't have
(01:31:46):
a lot of depth, something we'vetalked about since season six, episode one
of Soccer's Overtime. You know,No. M two, A lot of
guys from Poyo to Roho, Mohika, you know, all these guys out
the door, Horado, you knowout the door. Those are guys who
would be in the lineup when thewhen the soccers have injuries. Uh and
(01:32:11):
and now we're down to rookies orto double shifting. So it is what
it is. But the injury roundup is rough. We already talked about
Kansas City toy Runners ready to kidup. We want to keep winning justin
so that's a no from me,dog, but h I appreciate you.
(01:32:36):
Randy Jackson. Just reference just alwaystickles me for st It's one of those
things like if executed correctly, itjust love it so a critical week to
heal up it is. It isa boot scoot in Sunday is Country Night

(01:33:27):
game entry should be a lot offun on Sunday. I always like to
see Kansas City come to town legacyfranchise. First time these two franchises met
was nineteen eighty two, So talkingabout forty two years of competition between the
Soccers and Kansas City intermittently and thisshould be this should be a fun evening
(01:33:49):
on Sunday. Yeah. No,I'm really looking forward to seeing a team
that's fun to watch, like thisis still a team that can take it
to anybody. As we were saying, earlier to any buddy. They took
the Mexican teams to the limit. And while I don't necessarily want to see
them take the Higo soccers to thelimit, because again, this injury list
is just one of those things. It's domino effect. Because there is an
(01:34:11):
injury here, another player has toplay longer, opens themselves up for injury,
and it just kind of cascades fromthere. And that's what we've been
seeing here. So I think that, you know, it's going to be
a test to really come in andcement the soccers as what we make it
happen. We just put all thesethings in together, mcguy for it and
a win comes out. And sofar it's been working this season. But
(01:34:34):
I'm not a fan of it,but it's just a nature. So far.
Should be a good game, shouldbe a really, really a good
game, all right. Last thinglooking ahead, of course, we'll have
the broadcast Tony and I will havethe broadcast with Melissa May with our TVX
Sports video grew Sunday at five o'clock. As I mentioned obliquely when Jan Salazar
(01:34:55):
was on, I continue to doPA for Snapdragon Stadium major soccer events.
The Conker calf w Gold Cup isgetting underway tomorrow with group stage action and
group stage play will continue in SanDiego on Saturday and then on Tuesday next
(01:35:15):
week. Double header in fact,Tuesday next week. So Soccer's Overtime must
move once again. Like me atthe first table I sit down at sequon
for poker, I'm at the mustmove. We're going to be moving along.
So I'll just or is that's productionmeeting, Tony? Would you prefer
Monday or Wednesday for Soccer's Overtime nextweek? I think I'll take a take
(01:35:42):
a Monday on that just I've reallylike to flex that muscle. Double podcast,
let's double decorate. I think it'sit'll be good to get that info
out and you know, hopefully weget capture more people to go and see
us. That's that's snap dragon, you know, go see some Gold Cup
action, some great stuff, greatstuff happening outstanding. Okay, So programming
(01:36:03):
note to everybody listening and watching.Next week, Soccer's Overtime will be on
Monday night at five o'clock. Onthat show, we will reveal this year's
Star Wars night kits as well asour military night kits, which the clubs
will be wearing that following weekend onMarch first and March third, respectively,
(01:36:25):
so stay tuned for that. We'lltry and wrangle up a guest from Sunday's
hopefully exciting win over the Kansas CityComments. But Tony and I will be
with you Monday instead of Tuesday, because as talented as I am and as
versatile as I am, Tony,I cannot do PA at Snapdragon in the
(01:36:47):
middle of the first half and hostthis show. Yeah no, I think
you know, just showing some humblenessthere because I think you can. Greg.
Actually, it would be a badshow, and it would be a
bad PA. It would be badall the way around. Just I mean,
(01:37:09):
I'll be across the glass. Whowill wave at each other that day,
We'll be in the press box.I mean we can. We can
make it happen. Just use somesnap Dragon Wi Fi and it's decent.
It's okay. Snappagg and WiFi isokay. But yeah, So that'll be
Monday next week. I can't wait. Big Soccer Week in San Diego coming
(01:37:32):
up. All right, that doesit? This edition of Soccer is overtime.
It's through to bring in Bobby SouthBay available on the County nat album
