Den globala vindkraftsindustrin som vi känner den började i Danmark på 70-talet. Som en reaktion på skenande energipriser i följderna av oljekriserna började uppfinnare, studenter på folkhögskolor och framsynta företag på den danska landsbygden utveckla vad som skulle komma att bli den dominerande vindkraftstekniken världen över: turbiner med tre blad som snurrar medurs.
En av dessa personer var Henrik Stiesdal. I avsnittet får vi höra hans egna berättelse: om hur han som tonåring byggde sitt första vindkraftverk till sina föräldrars gård och sedermera, via ett samarbete med en lokal smed, licensierade sin design till den dåvarande jordbruksmaskintillverkaren Vestas. (Och, ja, det är alltså samma Vestas som med avstamp i Henrik och hans kollegas design kom att bli världens största tillverkare av vindkraftsturbiner.)
Sedan dess har Henrik spenderat nästan fem decennier inom vindkraftsindustrin. Vi får höra om när han 1991 var med och installerade världens första havsbaserade vindkraftpark. Om varför han tror flytande vindkraft är näst på tur att genomgå en industrialisering (och vad hans egna företag, Stiesdal, gör för att snabba på den). Vi får även Henriks syn på den danska politikens roll i utvecklingen — och på hur det gick till när han mottog det prestigefyllda Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering för sina insatser inom vindkraft.
