Hon slog igenom 1989 med låten ”Talking to the man in the moon”. Sju album och fyra grammisar senare släppte hon sin första singel på svenska: ”Drottningen är tillbaka”, och valdes in i Swedish Music Hall of Fame.
Trots att hon växte upp nära musiker, skådespelare och dansare var sången inget självklart yrkesval för Titiyo. Men efter körsång och flera samarbeten med artister valde hon till sist musiken.
