Knappt 30 år gammal tog Lena Andersson Nazzal ett stort steg i sitt liv; trots farhågor och förmaningar, sa hon ja till ett uppdrag som sjukgymnast i ett biståndsprojekt mitt i oroshärden som Palestina var då.
Hon hade gott om föreställningar kring vad hon skulle möta men i dom ingick inte att kärleken skulle dyka upp. Men det var precis vad den gjorde; efter bara en vecka stod hennes framtida man framför henne. Hon blev ifrågasatt av sin blivande svärmor som var helt säker på att denna relation minsann inte skulle hålla, men så fort hon och Lena träffades uppstod ett band som höll ända fram till svärmoderns död.
Idag har Lena en vuxen dotter tillsammans med sin Said, som gjort sina föräldrar både stolta och oroade när hon valt att leva som troende muslim.
