In gesprek met presentator Thijs de Jong vertelt sportjournalist Johan Stobben vanuit Peking hoe het eraan toe gaat op de Olympische Spelen. Zo nu en dan voelt het voor Stobbe alsof hij in een gevangenis zit, maar gelukkig is er op z'n tijd wel de mogelijkheid om een biertje te drinken.
In deze eerste aflevering van Radio Peking wordt vooruitgeblikt op de wedstrijden van zaterdag. Nederland maakt zowel op de 3000 meter schaatsen als de mixed relay bij het shorttrack kans op goud. Vooral een gouden medaille voor Sjinkie Knegt zou Stobbe fantastisch vinden. ,,En die kan hij zaterdag zomaar al winnen.''
