Der kicker ist längst nicht mehr nur das gedruckte Sportmagazin. Heute ist er ein digitaler Player mit beachtlichem Umsatzanteil aus dem Onlinegeschäft: 70 Prozent der Erlöse des Olympia-Verlags werden digital erwirtschaftet. Neben Werbeeinnahmen setzt der kicker zunehmend auf neue Geschäftsmodelle wie das Abo-Modell kicker+ mit inzwischen über 10.000 zahlenden Nutzer*innen.
