scene. That fight between her and Data

A little bummed out about how the whole Brent storyline played
out. I thought there was going to be

I just thought, I just thought that that whole storyline was
going to go a little bit furtherthan it did.

But I just thought Brent would be around to get more in

threads you can follow now because May appears in the
episode. May, who was prominent in the

What are the files, the black deer missing report files,

two years ago and there's a flashback of 20 years ago and
there's all these timelines wedged into the show and what
happened two years ago is the black deer case connected to
their mom's death over the bridge and the car accident.
I'm having to go through physical therapy for God knows
how long, which just tells you. It was like the oxycodone bottle

is just a reminder for Wayne because it's still around in his
visual sight on a thing that he can see always how fragile
things are. I was just so stunned by the
fact that it was just laying outthere for Wayne to see forever.
Not like in a desk drawer or anything like that.

It was like, why is it still outthere?
And it's like, oh, he's just notin a good place probably.

Well. We've seen how cypresses react
to pain meds, is it possible he's taking them?
That thought sneakily occurred to me.
I don't know. There's no evidence of that,
but. If M had a problem, those pills
are probably long gone. They're certainly look like
they're not for consumption. It's just the bottle sitting
there, nothing in it. Taking the rest of them anyway

because based on her condition. Yeah.
Well, now we kind of know we have a little bit more context,
at least mentally that like, OK,maybe she was.
Since the accident, obviously she's been addicted to the pain
meds and like you said, Bridget frequently bringing up the
opioid crisis kind of happening around that time.
So the Sacklers and the. Beginning maybe around that
time. Or at least showing its.

Because it's still. It's still a thing.
It's been a thing since the mid 50s, though it went into
OverDrive in the 2000s, late 2000s because, well, and then
what else that I mentioned in this episode, but the housing
market crash, the the bubble bursting subprime mortgages and
stuff like that in 2008 and thenleading into 2009, people having
so the opioid crisis jumps into OverDrive around that time,

And then we got all the way to the end and the answer was
aliens. And I'm like, really?
They were studying the effects of the parent child

relationship, and so the movie was following a mother and a
father. They weren't a couple there.
It was like separate. Separate mother and father.
Yeah, separate mother, separate father.
She was pregnant. She had a child.
At some point something happenedand the aliens made it so that
her child never existed. But she still felt that
connection. She knew she was pregnant.
She knew she had a child. And like the whole movie was her
(21:21):
trying to prove that she in facthad a child.
At the end you find out, oh, it's just the aliens like
studying this connection and andcan it be broken if you remove
the child? Can you convince a mother and or
father that the child never existed?
I think Julianne Moore was in it.
It was beautiful. And then the ending just ruined.

It 2004, by the way, so before the events of Revival, which,
OK, could give context to the show, I guess.
Bridget, is that what you saw inthe comic?
Yeah. So it looked like sort of like a
spider alien with hoof hoofs. It's not an alien.
Oh. Thank God.
You see this like I said on likethe first 2 pages on the first

issue and I was like bro now I don't really understand what it
is but I can tell you with like 98% certain certainty it's not
an alien because of something that happened in the comic.
It's something earthly. Terrestrial.
Could it also be like what the person wants it to be too?
No, it shows up the same way several times to several

different people. That's the same thing that is
branding Blaine Abel's followers, somehow.
Guess yeah, that's my assumption.
Maybe they're touching whatever it is and instead of being
earned to a crisp there. I don't know.
I'm almost like, do they have a second one?
Well, I, I have to imagine there's a lot more something.
Yeah, 'cause why doesn't it leave?
Yeah, this plane is revived. It kind of makes sense that the

revival will be revived anyway, because if the, whatever it is
or whatever the phenomenon is, is a OK, they said limited to
Moore Creek. If Moore Creek is near the
cemetery and cemetery, the people are buried at the water
table, how does it explain the morgue and the Crematory and the
body that stands up in the So it's radio waves, Light Creek,
We're all infected. New York telephone.
(23:09):
I could give you an answer as towhat I think it is, but it
doesn't make any sense and. You don't want to color watching
anyway, so I'm. Just going to leave it.
I should mention though, I frequently go back and forth
between taking notes and then going back to IMDb to get photos
or whatever it's going to be, but this episode was pretty
highly rated compared to the rest.
This is a really good episode. 8.2 out of 10 this is.
(23:29):
So far my favorite episode purely for the M kicking ass
scene. That fight between her and Data
was felt. We all had a reaction when Brent
kicked her in the stomach. Oh yeah.
I knew I was going to scream andI tried to push the mic away
before I did because I didn't want to blast your ears, but
whoa. And the splatter effect when she
hit him in the face of the bedpan.
Perfect, perfect choreography. But was it blood or was it
(23:51):
pissed You don't go? Piss on me.
Yes. Yes, it was a mixture of both,
yes. It looked like the cover of
Metallica's. It was bliss.
Metallica's 1998 album. It's for those who know they
could show on the screen now, actually, this one.
Yeah, that's what it looked like.

It's called Load, by the way. Now you're kind of halfway now.
I don't want to. Metallica was trying to be more
metal than metal. I am so elated to hear Bridget
say that it's not an alien, because I was.
The spoiler we we deserve. No, for real, like I sometimes
you need those spoilers because I'm not going to lie, I was very
disappointed as soon as the ethereal music started playing

and you can see the glow on the side of their face.
I'm like, no, no. It's the 4400.
Don't do it. Don't do it.
And then they showed it and I'm like.
Did it? I think I understand why you
were you're reacting because youlove this show and to have it be
thwarted, right? It's kind of like you saying
about the Julian. Personal preference, obviously.

I mean, some people out there might be like, yeah, aliens.
But me, I'm like, yeah, like. Bridget aliens and the
government didn't even tell her.There's a time and place for
aliens, and yeah, I don't think this is the show for it.
But we're coming in with biases,too.
Well, it's like a trope that's been done, as we talked about in
our first episode coverage of this several.

Now that I'm recalling, I think I remember coming across social
media that were saying what the F at the end.
They loved it all the you like, some people like live tweeting,
like watching all the way through and they're like, wait,
wait, wait, wait, what is this? What is this?
Everything was great about this episode.
What is this? I guess I can't tell you with
100% certainty that there's no alien element.
I don't know. I'm only 8 issues in.

But when I first saw it, when I told you guys, I looked at it
and went what? Because you don't have that
context, you're like, this is the first thing you're seeing.
That's what I saw on the page and I was like, what is that?
It's like got squiggly, like arms, like legs.
And I was like what is this? Your response is basically Jade
on from had he not gone through his journey without the three
(26:02):
seasons, he gets the answer at first.
Without the three seasons of misery and and misdirection and
hallucinations. That's your reaction to that
panel. Would you have understood, or
would you have been ready to accept it had you heard?
Had you heard it at first? Without the journey book.
So like I go in, you know, and it's like about people coming
back to from the dead. So like, this is probably going
(26:23):
to be weird. But that was not the weird I was
expecting. So when I saw it, I was like,
no, I don't want an alien. I don't.
Want this isn't what I want. You're Rachel right now.
Like I said, as I get further into the issues, some stuff
happens that you're like, so you're not an alien and I don't
(26:44):
really understand how or why youexist or or what you are.
Like I said, I can't say with 100%.
I'm like 98% sure. A lot of it, I think, is like,
do you know when you poison thisis like poisoning the well.
It's like when you show some somebody something so
misdirective or leads you down agarden path of thinking that you
can't see the truth when it's right in your face.
(27:04):
Like we said about the miracle, you can't recognize a miracle
for what it is because you're socynical.
What I like about the way that the show approached this versus
the comic book is that as someone who was reading the
comic, this was exciting becauseit was like, you guys don't know
about this stupid weird thing that's going to happen.
And I was like waiting the wholetime, like is it going to
happen? You guys see it as a dumb?
(27:24):
Does it look as dumb here as it doesn't the comic like just like
waiting and so on. And honestly, not really.
It was perfect. That's.
Pretty good. It's pretty good.
It's more like a bluish white, you know, in the comic book, but
pretty good. It's like a 7.2 out of 10 the.
The comic is in color, correct? Oh, it's a good question.
(27:45):
Yeah, that's not always the case.
The comic book sounds. Like The Walking Dead.
But I have the compendium, but it's in color.
But so I assume it's in color. Yeah, we're in color.
Do we want to touch on the titlereal quick before we move on?
Bloodlines Yeah, I hit on it a little bit with the Patty 20
years ago. Bloodlines Martha being born
while she, Patty had cancer. The Czech brothers are all dead.

Supposedly it's the two. Bloodlines feuding the cypresses
versus the Czech versus. The Cypress well.
We should talk a little bit about Rhodie too.
You're poor. Angel baby, I'm really upset
about it. Well, we saw him again.
We did get to see him again. So are you Miles now, Bridget,
you're like the what he's sayingabout that's not your name
anymore. You don't have any of.

That's like super depressing. It's really ham fisted.
They're like, get it, do you getit?
Do you get it? I know I do feel for him though.
You get to seem tortured and stuff.
Well, I mean it's. Really.
Upsetting. It's horrible.
I'm more upset by watching a hotgrandpa put roadie on there.
I was like semi rooting for him when he was having that
conversation with second doctor.Not Ibrahim, but the.

Bleeding the last couple of. Yeah, me too.
Yeah. When he was like, well we're
going to stop doing this. And I thought, OK, maybe he's
going to like see how bad this is, but then here he is
delivering Roadie to bad doctor.It's bad, Doctor I.
Told you guys I said Nope, I don't agree with it and now look
at what happened. Well, see, he got scared.
Absolutely. He got scared and I still think
(29:09):
hot grandpa. From his perspective, he's doing
the right thing. He's doing what he thinks is
right. He's not a bad guy, he's just
making really bad decisions. Well, there's more to his bad
decisions than I think we know, and I think we got a little
sneak peek into that by seeing the flashback and knowing that,
like, this brashness isn't because his wife died or because
(29:31):
his daughter has this condition.This is how he's always been.
Them being having these conditions are kind of like a
limiter. He's less of a always been
because of the delicate people in his life.
The delicate wife with cancer, adelicate daughter with brittle
bones. Dana making terrible decisions
left and right. Pterodactyl shot.
Please. Her dad, right?
Right, It's OK. So what is that?
(29:52):
I was going to say yin and Yang,right?
That the same person just doing different things as a result of
their fear. But isn't it the whole symbol,
the unicursal hexagram? It's the union of opposites.
How you are the same yet expressyourselves differently.
You seem different, but you're really the same.
You're the same hand drawn line.I feel like if anything Dana and
M would be yin and Yang and Pat grandpa and Cancer mom would be

yin and Yang. Not Dana and Pat grandpa.
They're the same. I say that they're the same, but
they do things differently. They choose different paths.
Do they? Dana saves is giving cover to
the revived, while Wayne is moreafraid of them.
He's trying to do the right. They're both trying to do the.
Right thing, sure, but I feel like that's because it's her

sister, not revived in general. But I think we're all a
byproduct of our experience, right?
It had Wayne seen M revive first, maybe he'd do the same
thing as Dana and and keep that from Dana, but he'd be doing
what Dana'd be doing. OK, well.
Great. Think about it.

I understand. I stated this during the
episode, but I don't know how they're going to lie their way

out of this. One truly killing Brent
extraditiously. Well, everybody knows.
Even if Anthony comes back, there's still many other dead
bodies. Right, that's what I meant.
Where did Jordan go in the eyes of the law?
Yeah, it's like there's like so many things that I'm like, this
is not good. Like, I don't know how you're
going to cover for any of this. Can you finally just come clean

about it? Couldn't they just blame it on a
a rival criminal enterprise? Troop like New York City.
That's true. That's true.
Right. It's a bloodbath that came in
from the outside, right? It's not the inside.
It's not us, I mean. There's no way one tiny little
scrawny 20 year old girl could do all of this.
Nobody's going to believe that anyway.
Like I said in the last episode,very sneakily, Rachel knows how

to cover up murders expertly, which is expert logic covering
Bridget's tracks. Bridget calls Rachel.
I did it again. OK, sorry.
Take the batch phone, but for murder you flip open
Shakespeare's head and turn twist the dial.

I'm not sure. These are compliments.
Instead of like a a a bust of Shakespeare, it's a it's a
Unicorn bust, right, Because youhave your Unicorn onesie,

Because it's so obvious, right? Yeah, exactly.
Just like Revival, it's a pickled red herring.

Before we move on. I don't know, I just very great
episode. Just I agree got.
Everything in all the satisfaction.
A little bummed out about how the whole Brent storyline played
out. I thought there was going to be
a little more to it. Well, you wanted more, Brent is
what you wanted. Well, I wanted more suspense.
(32:46):
The reveal was pretty good. Yeah, the reveal was great.
I just thought, I just thought that that whole storyline was
going to go a little bit furtherthan it did.
Sure. I wanted to know who he was on
the phone with. I wanted to know more about why,
and maybe we will, you know, I'msure we'll get answers to that.
But I just thought Brent would be around to get more in
trouble. There's a couple threads.
(33:06):
Okay, I'm glad you brought this up because there's a couple
threads you can follow now because May appears in the
episode. May, who was prominent in the
comics, now appears. She gives the eyes to Brent.
Dana is like, I don't want to tear a dactyl shot.
Those files are still in the hospital room as.
Far as we know, yeah, but. Brent is not going to get in the
way now of her reading those files.
What are the files, the black deer missing report files,
(33:28):
etcetera, whatever. And she mentions it in the
episode. She botched the black deer case
two years ago and there's a flashback of 20 years ago and
there's all these timelines wedged into the show and what
happened two years ago is the black deer case connected to
their mom's death over the bridge and the car accident.
I'm having to go through physical therapy for God knows
how long, which just tells you. It was like the oxycodone bottle
(33:49):
is just a reminder for Wayne because it's still around in his
visual sight on a thing that he can see always how fragile
things are. I was just so stunned by the
fact that it was just laying outthere for Wayne to see forever.
Not like in a desk drawer or anything like that.
That's why I was stunned by whatyou said, Bridget.
It was like, why is it still outthere?
And it's like, oh, he's just notin a good place probably.
(34:11):
Well. We've seen how cypresses react
to pain meds, is it possible he's taking them?
That thought sneakily occurred to me.
I don't know. There's no evidence of that,
but. If M had a problem, those pills
are probably long gone. They're certainly look like
they're not for consumption. It's just the bottle sitting
there, nothing in it. Taking the rest of them anyway
(34:33):
because based on her condition. Yeah.
Well, now we kind of know we have a little bit more context,
at least mentally that like, OK,maybe she was.
Since the accident, obviously she's been addicted to the pain
meds and like you said, Bridget frequently bringing up the
opioid crisis kind of happening around that time.
So the Sacklers and the. Beginning maybe around that
time. Or at least showing its.
(34:53):
Because it's still. It's still a thing.
It's been a thing since the mid 50s, though it went into
OverDrive in the 2000s, late 2000s because, well, and then
what else that I mentioned in this episode, but the housing
market crash, the the bubble bursting subprime mortgages and
stuff like that in 2008 and thenleading into 2009, people having
so the opioid crisis jumps into OverDrive around that time,
(35:14):
perfectly timed to cure people'sdepression after losing so much
money. So thanks, Fannie Mae, Freddie
Mac and Obama. All right, let's move on to the
