(00:00):
We're here eating our Saturday morning cartoon food.
Bro did you go get fruity pebbles?
I got Fruity Pebbles and it has marshmallows.
They like invented the technology to kind of give more
sugar to children. Invent.
To the technology, it's about damn time.
Sometimes I'll come home and I'll like eat it for dinner.
Yeah, sometimes Silas has cerealfor dinner.
(00:21):
Throwback to the teen years. Brenner breakfast for dinner,
that's. Where it's at, if you're over 25
and you're eating cereal for dinner, there's a degree of
depression involved in that process.
Also just mean really busy day. I'm going to actually give that
one to Dave because. Just a degree.
I'm not saying like I've. Been recently in quite a dark
place. I'll give that to you, Dave.
(00:42):
I'll. Give that to you, Chapeau.
My. My cast to you.
Not great at the moment, No. It's fine now, is it?
Maybe. My therapist seems to think I'm
OK. Dave.
Big psychology, right? Big those, Big psychology.
(01:08):
Trying to keep me in their grip.Rachel's giving me the face
like, why don't we watch this episode?
(01:35):
We are squawking Dead, a podcastpulverizing programs beyond The
Walking Dead universe. Sometimes we're giving you,
sometimes we make you laugh. Most times we go deep.
I'm heroes David Cameo and you're actually joined by
Kazimov, 09, Rachel Burt and Bridget AKA Punky Brewster, who
you can find on youtube.com. Slash at Punky Brewster.
That's PUNKYBRUISETER, and todaywe have for you Part 1 of A2,
(02:02):
part recording. We advised that we would be
doing this at the end of our last episode online in our Kofi
Patreon accounts. Basically, we were going to
watch, and we did episodes six and seven of Revival where we're
going to record our watch and react to it in real time, adding
our thoughts along the way, muchto Rachel's chagrin, as you'll
(02:22):
find out, we asked ourselves some questions and broke down
things a little bit further. I much preferred watching
Revival this way because then wecan actually react to the
humorous aspects of it, which isthe thing I basically love the
most about this series, with Melanie Scarfano adding her
little quips and corniness alongthe way.
I think we may do this for future recordings, so please
(02:46):
keep in mind that when we do this, we can only do this for
members. We did keep the studio open for
all who wish to attend. The only requirement or thing
that I would advise doing is to follow our Kofi or Patreon
accounts for free. That's KO,
dishfi.com/walkingdead or patreon.com/walkingdead so you
know when we post the details tothose studios.
(03:08):
We will probably do the same thing again next time.
Keep the studio open and free for you to attend and lend us
your thoughts. And I can't stress this enough,
head on over to our Kofi and Patreon accounts.
Follow one of them or both, whatever tickles your fancy.
You'll be notified when we drop the studio.
Link to our next recording session that you can attend.
Watch a show along with us. React along with us.
(03:29):
Lend us your deeper thoughts as we probe and ask more questions
about what we just watched. In any case, this is the first
of two parts covering the 6th episode of Revival titled
Bloodlines. And without further ado, I
introduce you to our past versions of ourselves from
Saturday morning. Where we go?
Cross my heart and hope. To die.
(03:50):
See him punk, I hate him. See the hoof?
You see the hoof? I did Dave to hoof.
Whoa, wait, wait, wait, wait. There's two things going on in
the screw right now, 20 years before Revival Day.
That's one a lot more than the two eyed speculated and then
woman crying out in pain. We can see all of this where
(04:11):
what is happening. But we have to also say it for
the audio. The audio.
Is not paying. This is a.
Clearly a visual episode. You're releasing this to audio?
Wow, I'm. Thinking ahead.
I'm thinking ahead. You know what I'm?
Saying, oh, childbirth. Triggered.
(04:32):
How do you de age? What's his name?
The guy who plays Wayne Cypress.Grandpa they.
Give him Peter Thomas Roth wrinkle remover.
Newborns are so gross. This comes from loving a baby.
They're gross when they're newborn.
Yeah, look like a little old men, all of them.
Even the girls, because you broke her bones.
Oh. Does that happen from birth?
(04:52):
They're more like bendy. Look at Conrad Coats.
It looks the same. Is he a sheriff?
He's a sheriff, Yeah. Did we fully have the?
Coats from all this oaky crystalwater birth bullet on top of
that. Liberals with your your water
bath, look at the little peanuts.
(05:14):
OK, that's a cute baby. It's going to need you.
OK? Cue the baby like smirking a
bit. You.
Got a fleshy stash? So Tommy in the river not?
Literally. The Nuts finally put some
respect on the Czech name. OK, Yeah, well, I'll give you a
moment. Respect on the Czech name.
(05:39):
Rachel's like dying because I keep pausing.
I am. I'm literally dying.
This is why I got the brains in the family with the new year
older brother. Oh, what's Brent doing creeping
up on Dana? I'm.
With you sneaking. Seriously, that was weird.
(05:59):
Rachel's theory? He's a bad guy with you.
What's my actual killer? Gulp.
Foreshadowing. Maitao is working with the guy
with the burnt face who went through Wayne's files on the
black deer case. Oh yeah, because.
He dropped it in her car, Yeah. Oh yeah.
Yeah, yeah, by the way, you're so right, Bridget.
The pill bottle is this definitely Ms. from the
(06:22):
accident. It just makes so much sense.
Do you mind just giving us? Some privacy.
Yeah, Killer. No.
What you. Trust her.
Oh, you probably should trust him, but that's fine.
I know what's. In them in my files.
Oh, Brent. You were so right, Rachel.
I. Think you're getting?
(06:48):
Corruption on the police force tonight at 7 Extra extra.
Like Rachel right there, then I.Pinned it on another corrupt
cop. Bang Bang.
Cover up for the black deer case.
Everyone thinks I bought 2. Years ago, two years ago, her
mom was killed. My notes are in those files.
(07:09):
OK. She she gave Brent the eyes.
She saw the eyes. She gave Brent the eyes.
Please. Please, this is the guy.
This is the guy. No, no touching.
She's going to close it. Yeah, of.
Course. Because it's Dana algae bloom in
(07:31):
the CDC. I imagine this is how David just
watches TV where he reads everything out loud that he sees
on screen. Processing.
I couldn't do it. Algae blue.
Processing. What does it mean Google Lens to
translate the screen? No, no, no what?
The. Heck.
(07:52):
Wrong with you people. You all need to stop bringing in
candy and doughnuts. She's been shot in the stomach
for Christ sake. I love her, I love her.
She's so. Mad.
I love her. I'm retiring after this, she
says. She's done.
Pterodactyl shots and I feel. Pterodactyl fentanyl Maybe she's
(08:17):
known to get things wrong. This is.
Prefentanyl crisis, by the way. Pterodactyl What that?
What would that even be? That's what that means.
Must have been framed I. Know we got that idiot at the
checkpoint he had a trunk full of.
Reviver parts Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding.
Who gets that first it? Wasn't me, It must I.
(08:39):
Thought you had said it. Somebody said it and then I
questioned, well, how would theyattach it and what would happen
to the person they attach it to?Yes, I know.
Do you do you remember? The division, that's
interesting. Well.
He may be an idiot, but he's an opportunistic 1.
See. I know I'll take care of it.
OK, go. OK.
You love it. You're the one who's yelling at
(09:00):
me. You're.
The Oh nice. Oh nice.
But how? Freaking totally mean no.
Is this the Jacks, by the way? Yeah, it's the Jacks.
Also like how on key he's wearing a checkerboard.
Gross guy, Andrew. Not Andrew.
(09:21):
This one's Adam. I'm a Patsy by the way, I love
JP. He's the guy questioning.
No, no, no, no, no. I took a criminal justice class
at night school. You're a deputy.
To some rich freak. Who would that rich freak be?
Lester Mayjack. To live forever Mayjack.
Well that would be insane. Right, because he's the only
(09:42):
rich guy that we've seen in town.
You don't pay me enough to answer that.
Go find me a Lambo. He's going to go find him a
Lambo. That made me laugh so loud I
moved. The screen, it's someone young.
Brody. 20 Oh no. 20 something. Try 40 maybe?
(10:04):
Try 4017. He's old but young.
Oh, it's his music. But yeah, but it's like anything
Revival. Oh, looks like it's him, but
it's probably not him. He's dating Martha.
Let's nail him. I don't want you dating my
(10:25):
daughter. Sorry, why was his music on the?
Whose laptop was that? Was.
That dairy's laptop. JP is it?
I don't know. The sheriff's laptop, he was
just looking up 20 somethings inthe area because based on the
DNA evidence. No, he said.
There was no DNA evidence. Well, they said it looked like a
20. Something.
(10:46):
Well, they couldn't match it. To anybody on the this very
short revival list, like 51 people of them, only one matches
like around 20 and Martha and Martha's not on the list.
Riverside, I've seen that on theprescription pill bottles, by
the way, now they're in a Riverside pharmaceutical
facility. Which is a Riverside FM.
I was like, dude. No, I, I know, but like, it's
(11:07):
really weird. And of course, this is where the
CDC is. This is where Carla Morale is
leading right now. Yeah, you see, I don't.
Want them anymore? She's hairy.
And then the Henderson's hair doughnuts.
Harry and Anderson, yes, go and.Get he was singing about Harry,
(11:27):
it's OK. It's OK.
I might be Dana Cyprus. Watch that movie.
I busted a stitch to try to do that for you.
OK, worth it. What the?
Hell is going on. Clearly has both of his feet.
Yeah, but wasn't. His foot in the trunk.
They. Reset.
(11:48):
Yeah, I mean, Arlene is already growing back from being dust
wherever they want you to be now.
Oh, that's Miles. Not so subtle anymore with their
commentary. Something on the wall.
Hack and slash. Comic on on the wall with a with
a knife through. It Andrew checks work.
There's a girl on the cover, says hack slash.
Remember CM Punk AKA Anthony Check said.
(12:10):
Cross my heart and open his eye.I will not harp.
Touch your family, basically. Why would you trust the word of
a criminal but OK. Good point.
Where? Is our boy Tommy?
Well, there's your reviver parts.
These captions are on point. Imitates baby.
I can't understand you. Could you speak more clearly?
I. Hate you, I hate you so much.
(12:34):
He's going to go heal. He is heel.
He is heel. I'm not a savage.
You're going to be the Pretty Little face of our boss's new
franchise. Our boss from New York City.
They don't know that Martha's are a Viper.
Do they they Dana went to Adam check when she had him in
custody. Yeah, she told she.
(12:55):
Goes You killed my sister. Anthony over the phone.
Oh, that's right, that's right. Sorry about your family, but I
got to protect. Mine.
I mean, they work for Mayor Delicious, right?
That just seems like the obviouspath.
Well, they're from New York City.
I'm a known criminal. Are you really that surprised?
Right. High profile clients that need
their well fixed. Are they eating it?
(13:16):
Cannibalism closing. MA can't make her payments.
Houses are gone. The bubble burst in 2008.
This is 2009. This is right after the market
crash. We.
Didn't even know that tasty teentreat was a reviver until you
told us. See, I saw worse when I was his
age and look how I turned out. The lovely tries to cover up his
Chicago accent too, which is literally the worst accent my.
(13:38):
Men don't make that phone call. Every last Cypress alive gets
thrown into a wood chipper. Did you get it?
Cypress trees, wood chippers, Fargo toodles, kind of monster,
says Toodles. Sam Punk.
Now, yeah, she hit him again on the arm where he got shot.
Get. A paradox shot now.
(13:59):
We can't. Just get.
There's horror dolls. I think Dana finally
understands. I was going to say this.
This family might have a problemwith.
Payments. Oh well.
(14:25):
Shut that trap of yours. The accent's gone and the gun is
out. Never surrender.
I can't even imagine. Oh.
God, Sorry, my God. Ouch, this is music video like
(14:47):
ninjas. What?
Oh yes that was so good. Welcome to prime time, bitch.
Yeah, welcome to prime time, bitch.
I wish she would have said that it.
Would have been good. Maybe she did, but we're just
too psyched about it. So he's dead.
But what if he revives? Well that was anti climactic.
(15:08):
Anti climactic. What are you talking about?
That was amazing. I just met the whole Brent thing
we found out. Rachel was so excited to be
right, and then it only she's. Right.
You get all that satisfaction and extra traditional execution.
I remember Brent did the Ballistics matching.
And framed McRae. So they're not only doing parts,
they're doing whole revivers. Look at this, Dana.
(15:29):
Who was that? The other truck.
Oh, so it got hijacked? Is it M?
Oh, she got out. It was like the crow.
Who doesn't like the crow? Yes, yes, we know you love the
crow, Dave. Come on, see the Crow, Anthony
Check is wearing the Crow's leather trench coat.
He. Had it on earlier too.
(15:51):
If it was like more prominent, now he's.
Wearing it more now? Yep.
Well, who's your chair is killing people?
There you go, box cutter because.
She was in a box. What's in the box?
What's? True.
It's true. It's true.
You're right, you know she ripped every stitch.
(16:13):
Every all the stitches. Other people's stitches.
There's no coming back from thisman I.
Mean unless there were any one of them are revivors.
No, this guy OK, brother. It is safe to say he is not OK
brother. Brother.
Yeah, baby. OK.
(16:35):
There we go. Yes, Andrew Czech reminds me of
Do you remember the original Superman movie?
I'm sorry, I'm still just takingin what just happened.
That was incredible. One of the three other
Kryptonians, there's Zod, there's whatever.
And the other, the big one that doesn't talk.
I'll show a picture of it once once I edit it.
I really, really, really love the camera angles.
They're. Going Is this the Crick?
(16:56):
More Crick. It's bubbling.
Are they going to show the thingfrom the comic now, Bridget?
Look at her face. Look at her face.
The glowing deer. Going WTF whatever it is.
It's it's a deer, but it's like coming up like like Iron fist
with the glowing hoof. By the way, obviously I I edit
(17:21):
these episodes a little bit, butwhen I listened back to the
deer, deer sounds, I'm going to call it deer sounds near the
camping tent, whatever. It actually resembled kind of
like a human's voice, the way a human cadence to the sound of
the moaning or whatever that wascoming from the creature.
In the camping scene or in the warehouse scene?
You got more of a an earful, I think from the well, I know from
(17:43):
both really. I got you.
I got you. OK.
He's like 75% more attractive than I thought he was earlier,
and he was really attractive. You're saving children.
My loins. Well, I can suddenly have
(18:03):
babies. What's happening with my body?
David's ovaries are throbbing. Yeah, my testicles went up and
turned into ovaries. Watch me drop an egg.
Oh, I don't like that. Stab.
All the stitches, All the stitches there's.
(18:27):
A lot of stab wounds. This is like the Rick thing all
over again. Bridget's face.
Just want to say that out loud. Even if it is comic book, it's
still not going to make sense. Anyone.
Just you guys. Know how are you going to lie
about this too? This is like stressing me out.
I think her arm broke too. She's going to stab him with her
(18:47):
broken bone. Arm bone.
Yeah, baby, but see now you justgave him reviver marrow.
I was just thinking the same thing.
High 5 is he is. Yep.
Is this going to be a transfer situation where he comes?
Great, now Anthony Check can't be killed.
CM Punk is going to live forever, Bridget.
My nightmare. I can help.
(19:08):
I'm a reviver, oh sweet girl. So sweet.
Whatever it is, it's like. A whale.
Anybody Auntie MI get it now, Auntie?
M all right. It's OK, this is the thing that
makes me feel complete. Preparing for disappointment.
(19:31):
Oh. Yeah.
OK, but it has deer hoofs. It's like a lengthier situation,
you know? What I was afraid of.
What is that? What?
It's giving me Nope vibes. In a world of absurdities, is
this too far out the realm? Oh, she's bleeding.
Why is she bleeding? She's crying blood.
(19:51):
Crying blood. Oh hey, what's that all about?
Thank. You all for being.
So kind. To me what?
I'm so confused. So now we know that they can be
killed, but like, were they everreally like to be?
Taken, yeah. It sounds like a mutual thing,
(20:16):
though both were taken in a way.No part of me thinks she just
died right then. Fair, because I'm healing you.
Even if it was the thing from the comics, it still wouldn't
make any sense. It doesn't make any sense.
None of this makes any sense. What in the David Lynch?
Why are you playing that song backwards?
I feel like aliens are an easy scapegoat for mysterious things.
(20:38):
Not a big fan when people use that as an explanation.
I was watching this movie and itwas fun.
Not I mean, I was so invested inthis movie.
It was so good. I was loving it.
And then we got all the way to the end and the answer was
aliens. And I'm like, really?
They were studying the effects of the parent child
(20:59):
relationship, and so the movie was following a mother and a
father. They weren't a couple there.
It was like separate. Separate mother and father.
Yeah, separate mother, separate father.
She was pregnant. She had a child.
At some point something happenedand the aliens made it so that
her child never existed. But she still felt that
connection. She knew she was pregnant.
She knew she had a child. And like the whole movie was her
(21:21):
trying to prove that she in facthad a child.
At the end you find out, oh, it's just the aliens like
studying this connection and andcan it be broken if you remove
the child? Can you convince a mother and or
father that the child never existed?
I think Julianne Moore was in it.
It was beautiful. And then the ending just ruined.
(21:42):
It 2004, by the way, so before the events of Revival, which,
OK, could give context to the show, I guess.
Bridget, is that what you saw inthe comic?
Yeah. So it looked like sort of like a
spider alien with hoof hoofs. It's not an alien.
Oh. Thank God.
You see this like I said on likethe first 2 pages on the first
(22:03):
issue and I was like bro now I don't really understand what it
is but I can tell you with like 98% certain certainty it's not
an alien because of something that happened in the comic.
It's something earthly. Terrestrial.
Could it also be like what the person wants it to be too?
No, it shows up the same way several times to several
(22:25):
different people. That's the same thing that is
branding Blaine Abel's followers, somehow.
Guess yeah, that's my assumption.
Maybe they're touching whatever it is and instead of being
earned to a crisp there. I don't know.
I'm almost like, do they have a second one?
Well, I, I have to imagine there's a lot more something.
Yeah, 'cause why doesn't it leave?
Yeah, this plane is revived. It kind of makes sense that the
(22:48):
revival will be revived anyway, because if the, whatever it is
or whatever the phenomenon is, is a OK, they said limited to
Moore Creek. If Moore Creek is near the
cemetery and cemetery, the people are buried at the water
table, how does it explain the morgue and the Crematory and the
body that stands up in the So it's radio waves, Light Creek,
We're all infected. New York telephone.
(23:09):
I could give you an answer as towhat I think it is, but it
doesn't make any sense and. You don't want to color watching
anyway, so I'm. Just going to leave it.
I should mention though, I frequently go back and forth
between taking notes and then going back to IMDb to get photos
or whatever it's going to be, but this episode was pretty
highly rated compared to the rest.
This is a really good episode. 8.2 out of 10 this is.
(23:29):
So far my favorite episode purely for the M kicking ass
scene. That fight between her and Data
was felt. We all had a reaction when Brent
kicked her in the stomach. Oh yeah.
I knew I was going to scream andI tried to push the mic away
before I did because I didn't want to blast your ears, but
whoa. And the splatter effect when she
hit him in the face of the bedpan.
Perfect, perfect choreography. But was it blood or was it
(23:51):
pissed You don't go? Piss on me.
Yes. Yes, it was a mixture of both,
yes. It looked like the cover of
Metallica's. It was bliss.
Metallica's 1998 album. It's for those who know they
could show on the screen now, actually, this one.
Yeah, that's what it looked like.
(24:13):
It's called Load, by the way. Now you're kind of halfway now.
I don't want to. Metallica was trying to be more
metal than metal. I am so elated to hear Bridget
say that it's not an alien, because I was.
The spoiler we we deserve. No, for real, like I sometimes
you need those spoilers because I'm not going to lie, I was very
disappointed as soon as the ethereal music started playing
(24:36):
and you can see the glow on the side of their face.
I'm like, no, no. It's the 4400.
Don't do it. Don't do it.
And then they showed it and I'm like.
Did it? I think I understand why you
were you're reacting because youlove this show and to have it be
thwarted, right? It's kind of like you saying
about the Julian. Personal preference, obviously.
(24:56):
I mean, some people out there might be like, yeah, aliens.
But me, I'm like, yeah, like. Bridget aliens and the
government didn't even tell her. There's a time and place for
aliens, and yeah, I don't think this is the show for it.
But we're coming in with biases, too.
Well, it's like a trope that's been done, as we talked about in
our first episode coverage of this several.
Times you. Know so.
(25:17):
Now that I'm recalling, I think I remember coming across social
media that were saying what the F at the end.
They loved it all the you like, some people like live tweeting,
like watching all the way through and they're like, wait,
wait, wait, wait, what is this? What is this?
Everything was great about this episode.
What is this? I guess I can't tell you with
100% certainty that there's no alien element.
I don't know. I'm only 8 issues in.
(25:40):
But when I first saw it, when I told you guys, I looked at it
and went what? Because you don't have that
context, you're like, this is the first thing you're seeing.
That's what I saw on the page and I was like, what is that?
It's like got squiggly, like arms, like legs.
And I was like what is this? Your response is basically Jade
on from had he not gone through his journey without the three
(26:02):
seasons, he gets the answer at first.
Without the three seasons of misery and and misdirection and
hallucinations. That's your reaction to that
panel. Would you have understood, or
would you have been ready to accept it had you heard?
Had you heard it at first? Without the journey book.
So like I go in, you know, and it's like about people coming
back to from the dead. So like, this is probably going
(26:23):
to be weird. But that was not the weird I was
expecting. So when I saw it, I was like,
no, I don't want an alien. I don't.
Want this isn't what I want. You're Rachel right now.
Like I said, as I get further into the issues, some stuff
happens that you're like, so you're not an alien and I don't
(26:44):
really understand how or why youexist or or what you are.
Like I said, I can't say with 100%.
I'm like 98% sure. A lot of it, I think, is like,
do you know when you poison thisis like poisoning the well.
It's like when you show some somebody something so
misdirective or leads you down agarden path of thinking that you
can't see the truth when it's right in your face.
(27:04):
Like we said about the miracle, you can't recognize a miracle
for what it is because you're socynical.
What I like about the way that the show approached this versus
the comic book is that as someone who was reading the
comic, this was exciting becauseit was like, you guys don't know
about this stupid weird thing that's going to happen.
And I was like waiting the wholetime, like is it going to
happen? You guys see it as a dumb?
(27:24):
Does it look as dumb here as it doesn't the comic like just like
waiting and so on. And honestly, not really.
It was perfect. That's.
Pretty good. It's pretty good.
It's more like a bluish white, you know, in the comic book, but
pretty good. It's like a 7.2 out of 10 the.
The comic is in color, correct? Oh, it's a good question.
(27:45):
Yeah, that's not always the case.
The comic book sounds. Like The Walking Dead.
But I have the compendium, but it's in color.
But so I assume it's in color. Yeah, we're in color.
Do we want to touch on the titlereal quick before we move on?
Bloodlines Yeah, I hit on it a little bit with the Patty 20
years ago. Bloodlines Martha being born
while she, Patty had cancer. The Czech brothers are all dead.
(28:07):
Supposedly it's the two. Bloodlines feuding the cypresses
versus the Czech versus. The Cypress well.
We should talk a little bit about Rhodie too.
You're poor. Angel baby, I'm really upset
about it. Well, we saw him again.
We did get to see him again. So are you Miles now, Bridget,
you're like the what he's sayingabout that's not your name
anymore. You don't have any of.
(28:27):
That's like super depressing. It's really ham fisted.
They're like, get it, do you getit?
Do you get it? I know I do feel for him though.
You get to seem tortured and stuff.
Well, I mean it's. Really.
Upsetting. It's horrible.
I'm more upset by watching a hotgrandpa put roadie on there.
I was like semi rooting for him when he was having that
conversation with second doctor. Not Ibrahim, but the.
(28:48):
Bleeding the last couple of. Yeah, me too.
Yeah. When he was like, well we're
going to stop doing this. And I thought, OK, maybe he's
going to like see how bad this is, but then here he is
delivering Roadie to bad doctor. It's bad, Doctor I.
Told you guys I said Nope, I don't agree with it and now look
at what happened. Well, see, he got scared.
Absolutely. He got scared and I still think
(29:09):
hot grandpa. From his perspective, he's doing
the right thing. He's doing what he thinks is
right. He's not a bad guy, he's just
making really bad decisions. Well, there's more to his bad
decisions than I think we know, and I think we got a little
sneak peek into that by seeing the flashback and knowing that,
like, this brashness isn't because his wife died or because
(29:31):
his daughter has this condition. This is how he's always been.
Them being having these conditions are kind of like a
limiter. He's less of a always been
because of the delicate people in his life.
The delicate wife with cancer, adelicate daughter with brittle
bones. Dana making terrible decisions
left and right. Pterodactyl shot.
Please. Her dad, right?
Right, It's OK. So what is that?
(29:52):
I was going to say yin and Yang, right?
That the same person just doing different things as a result of
their fear. But isn't it the whole symbol,
the unicursal hexagram? It's the union of opposites.
How you are the same yet expressyourselves differently.
You seem different, but you're really the same.
You're the same hand drawn line.I feel like if anything Dana and
M would be yin and Yang and Pat grandpa and Cancer mom would be
(30:14):
yin and Yang. Not Dana and Pat grandpa.
They're the same. I say that they're the same, but
they do things differently. They choose different paths.
Do they? Dana saves is giving cover to
the revived, while Wayne is moreafraid of them.
He's trying to do the right. They're both trying to do the.
Right thing, sure, but I feel like that's because it's her
(30:35):
sister, not revived in general. But I think we're all a
byproduct of our experience, right?
It had Wayne seen M revive first, maybe he'd do the same
thing as Dana and and keep that from Dana, but he'd be doing
what Dana'd be doing. OK, well.
Great. Think about it.
No, it's fine. It's fine.
I understand. I stated this during the
episode, but I don't know how they're going to lie their way
(30:57):
out of this. One truly killing Brent
extraditiously. Well, everybody knows.
Even if Anthony comes back, there's still many other dead
bodies. Right, that's what I meant.
Where did Jordan go in the eyes of the law?
Yeah, it's like there's like so many things that I'm like, this
is not good. Like, I don't know how you're
going to cover for any of this. Can you finally just come clean
(31:18):
about it? Couldn't they just blame it on a
a rival criminal enterprise? Troop like New York City.
That's true. That's true.
Right. It's a bloodbath that came in
from the outside, right? It's not the inside.
It's not us, I mean. There's no way one tiny little
scrawny 20 year old girl could do all of this.
Nobody's going to believe that anyway.
Like I said in the last episode, very sneakily, Rachel knows how
(31:42):
to cover up murders expertly, which is expert logic covering
Bridget's tracks. Bridget calls Rachel.
I did it again. OK, sorry.
Take the batch phone, but for murder you flip open
Shakespeare's head and turn twist the dial.
(32:04):
I'm not sure. These are compliments.
Instead of like a a a bust of Shakespeare, it's a it's a
Unicorn bust, right, Because youhave your Unicorn onesie,
you're. Blowing my spot up here.
They'll never know, though. They'll never know.
Because it's so obvious, right? Yeah, exactly.
Just like Revival, it's a pickled red herring.
(32:24):
It's. A pickled baloney.
Pickled red herring, pickled baloney.
Before we move on. I don't know, I just very great
episode. Just I agree got.
Everything in all the satisfaction.
A little bummed out about how the whole Brent storyline played
out. I thought there was going to be
a little more to it. Well, you wanted more, Brent is
what you wanted. Well, I wanted more suspense.
(32:46):
The reveal was pretty good. Yeah, the reveal was great.
I just thought, I just thought that that whole storyline was
going to go a little bit furtherthan it did.
Sure. I wanted to know who he was on
the phone with. I wanted to know more about why,
and maybe we will, you know, I'msure we'll get answers to that.
But I just thought Brent would be around to get more in
trouble. There's a couple threads.
(33:06):
Okay, I'm glad you brought this up because there's a couple
threads you can follow now because May appears in the
episode. May, who was prominent in the
comics, now appears. She gives the eyes to Brent.
Dana is like, I don't want to tear a dactyl shot.
Those files are still in the hospital room as.
Far as we know, yeah, but. Brent is not going to get in the
way now of her reading those files.
What are the files, the black deer missing report files,
(33:28):
etcetera, whatever. And she mentions it in the
episode. She botched the black deer case
two years ago and there's a flashback of 20 years ago and
there's all these timelines wedged into the show and what
happened two years ago is the black deer case connected to
their mom's death over the bridge and the car accident.
I'm having to go through physical therapy for God knows
how long, which just tells you. It was like the oxycodone bottle
(33:49):
is just a reminder for Wayne because it's still around in his
visual sight on a thing that he can see always how fragile
things are. I was just so stunned by the
fact that it was just laying outthere for Wayne to see forever.
Not like in a desk drawer or anything like that.
That's why I was stunned by whatyou said, Bridget.
It was like, why is it still outthere?
And it's like, oh, he's just notin a good place probably.
(34:11):
Well. We've seen how cypresses react
to pain meds, is it possible he's taking them?
That thought sneakily occurred to me.
I don't know. There's no evidence of that,
but. If M had a problem, those pills
are probably long gone. They're certainly look like
they're not for consumption. It's just the bottle sitting
there, nothing in it. Taking the rest of them anyway
(34:33):
because based on her condition. Yeah.
Well, now we kind of know we have a little bit more context,
at least mentally that like, OK,maybe she was.
Since the accident, obviously she's been addicted to the pain
meds and like you said, Bridget frequently bringing up the
opioid crisis kind of happening around that time.
So the Sacklers and the. Beginning maybe around that
time. Or at least showing its.
(34:53):
Because it's still. It's still a thing.
It's been a thing since the mid 50s, though it went into
OverDrive in the 2000s, late 2000s because, well, and then
what else that I mentioned in this episode, but the housing
market crash, the the bubble bursting subprime mortgages and
stuff like that in 2008 and thenleading into 2009, people having
so the opioid crisis jumps into OverDrive around that time,
(35:14):
perfectly timed to cure people'sdepression after losing so much
money. So thanks, Fannie Mae, Freddie
Mac and Obama. All right, let's move on to the
next episode. Thank you for making it to the
end of yet another episode of Squawking Dead.
This one discussing Revival's sixth episode of its inaugural
season titled Bloodlines. Now I know that I end off this
(35:35):
episode saying we should move onto the next episode.
That's because we are live watching this episode and you
could have participated in that live watch, watching the
episode, watching us watch the episode, reacting to this
episode, watching us react to this episode by heading on over
to either our Kofi or Patreon page that is
ko-fi.com/walkingdead or patreon.com/walkingdead follow
for free. You could have joined the studio
(35:57):
for free. No software to download.
Never, ever. It's been like that for the last
five years about and it's our way of a getting you closer to
what we are doing behind the scenes, getting closer to us as
podcasters and people including you in and making you a part of
what we're doing. That's why we say we are
squawking dead. And just so you know, we did
record episodes six and seven together of revival.
(36:18):
However, I decided at the midwaypoint of editing the discussion
on both episodes or reaction to or breakdown that I wanted to
split them up into little baby episodes for you to enjoy.
How rare is it that you get to have an episode that is less
than an hour long? Extremely rare.
So I hope you've enjoyed that. In the meantime, I want to thank
our supporters as I usually do, starting with a great MTR, the
(36:40):
greatest issue tier, our junior producers at Real Ryan GM on X
and Instagram, skipping our survivors here because we don't
have any members there. And moving on to our Whispers
tier, members at Kim dot Rowley, the number one on Facebook and
at Skylar Rose PW on Instagram. And XI can't wait to start
editing the 7th episode reactionbreakdown discussion.
(37:04):
That episode is titled Too Many Secrets and I believe we are
going to record the 8th episode in a similar fashion on Friday.
That would be August 1st, about 5:00 PM Eastern US time.
But just in case, if you want toknow up-to-the-minute when we
decide to do that or as we are discussing that, join a
membership tier so that you can get access to our logistics
(37:25):
channel for as little as $4.00 amonth.
However, I recommend following our Kofi or Patreon counts for
free so you're always in the know about a new recording
studio session that you can join, usually for free.
Stay tuned in a couple days, maybe not even for the 7th
episode discussion to be released on podcast platforms
everywhere, including YouTube. And also stay tuned for a very
(37:45):
important announcement either before or after that regarding
us taking a little time off for August.
More of that will be revealed onour social media, but just
remember in the meantime, a short while until the next
episode releases, that we are squawking dead.
