People, amiright? The most obvious observation from our reaction livestream is the further cementing bond between #JoelMiller & #EllieWilliams, with all it's peaks and valleys (but mostly by way of punny humor). What's not obvious is the human drama in which they suddenly find themselves engulfed.

Considering this is a #Livestream #reactionvideo, there's no unedited episode recording available; however, consider following either our Patreon or Ko-fi accounts so you don't miss out on future recordings: recordings are FREE to attend, but schedules aren't posted on Social Media. (00:39):
Ru is ET. ER, and we're here to talk about
the last of us is fourth episodetitled, please.
Hold on to my hand and we're here to do our reaction to this
episode. No notes.
Louis doesn't like that. You're already late.
If so, that's just forgive us Louis to speak.

(01:00):
You know, we work so hard to gethere on time.
Okay. I'm Mitchell graduate popped in
to say hi. Hey Mitchell.
Yes, I'm happy. Every time you even check in
telling us that you tel telling us you haven't seen the episode.
We still want to say hi, it's really really special and I
appreciate it every single time and Louis Martin.
Hi, forgive us and the Kira. Hey, I had to pee and then we

(01:23):
were talking about Yellowstone for a hot second.
Well, they were and I haven't seen it yet and seen any of it
yet, but hi everybody. Okay, so Mitchell said, also,
the next episode will be this Friday, February 10th, because
of the Super Bowl on Sunday. I saw that when I started the
episode, there was like a thing that came across.
It said that and I was like, that's weird.
Why do they want to ruin our lives?

(01:45):
What to God. That's hard on us, though.
So well, we'll go yeah, we'll golive that day too.
So no worries. I think weren't they in Kansas
City in this episode? Yep that's right.
Okay. Well Kansas City's played in the
Super Bowl Sunday. So that's that's pretty cool.
It should. Her on Sunday.
Anyway everybody it's a city in Philadelphia think yeah the

(02:10):
Eagles, right? They made the Super Bowl.
Yeah. Numbers to go down, you know I
mean they want their numbers to keep going on future episodes.
By the way, I can hear Filly from here.
There are still partying about being the Super Bowl.
Anyway, sure. Thank you to your do two days
early, nice? Yeah, oh, don't be late.
Okay, will be our always. All right.

(02:31):
Slave driver over here for a lotless.
Yes, you know. Anyways.
Alright, we watched a pretty shorter episode 02 Kira with her
little Oaks. Now she's in The Whispers here,
probably, but I have no idea, but she joined the subscription
hate Sakura. Thank you for joining.
Get on in here curl because there's a link to join us.

(02:51):
In the Discord is because your Whispers human Tears.
Like, I can't wait for him to read my comment.
I'm gonna show you on stream andruin everything.
You make everything better to cure.
Thank you, thank you for always being here.
Okay. This episode is actually
slightly shorter than most of the episodes.
Actually a little shorter than infected but it is definitely
one of the shorter ones. Last week's episode was a was 80

(03:13):
minutes, an hour and 20 minutes. We budgeted our livestream
accordingly, not like some people, we know I actually
appreciated this episode. I think a little bit more
because there was a lot more motion obviously than the last
one, you know, like we didn't really go anywhere in the last
one. Technically speaking we can went
back got a lot more emotion. I was like excuse me.
Oh yeah that was game. A lot of emotion last week.

(03:33):
He Shania next product by Samsung.
But yeah, I mean this episode had some emotion in it too, but
I think it had a lot more movement into the overall plot.
They actually make it to Kansas City from where they were in.
Massachusetts, that was pretty cool.
And Skip all the bad parts. What did you guys think of this
episode? Let's start with Sharon because
it's been a while since things have worked out that you could

(03:54):
be here with us in the reaction video.
I like it, maybe not as much as last week because last week.
So I really love, I love how much humor they put into the
show. The dynamic between Ellie and
Joel is just It's at the end when they were just laughing
together. I was almost tearing up at that,
like, it was so sweet. We didn't see an infected but
like Joel keeps reminding us. The infected are really the
danger in this world as much as the people are, right.

(04:17):
That was a good reminder. As we see, the people are the
danger, because they come into the town, and they get attacked
immediately, but I thought Walter White was the danger.
Hmm. Maybe if they were in
Albuquerque, I was just gonna say the wrong area.
Is that one of those jokes out of Ellie's?
Book. Yes actually, is that a yearbook

(04:37):
charity? I took a page from your joking,
aside. When they were at the gas
station, I think was a right in the opener.
It kind of did remind me of the gas station and Better Call Saul
was just kind of like, where is my brain right now with?
Why is this all going to make a phone call to Kim After All
These Years? Anyway oh God, did you get that
charity? I don't know.
That's just sad for me then how are you feeling a Bridget and a

(05:00):
little bug this weekend, huh? Yeah, I'm tired.
I don't feel Oh, super great. I already called out of work
tomorrow. Oh wow.
You're lucky. I'm here.
Look at this, everybody. Round of applause for Bridget
for toughing it out and being here with us today.
Commitment now don't go to the bathroom during the stream.
This is the live stream case, not a pre-recorded getting, you
could do whatever you want because you know, as diarrhea,

(05:22):
if I have to it's come in either.
Way Dave, Simon runs and your jeans.
So right, so avoid it at all costs.
Thank you Sherry. Thank you for the couple things
right from a video game aspect, okay?
Well, how far did you get? Let's start with that.
Okay, not very far. I'm not gonna lie to you.
So, with me being sick, normallya player of the weekend and I

(05:44):
just wasn't feeling it because Iwas I was in bed, a lot of the
time. So I spent some time today
working on it, the music and what was happening in the game
was stressing me out so bad? I was picking up.
My fingers is what I do when I'mlike really anxious.
The same thing, I didn't get very far and Then I kind of was
like well I don't know to do I want to have some perspective

(06:05):
for the episode of this kind of like what I'm some like
responsible for this. Let me just watch part of a walk
through which I hate, I don't, Idon't watch walkthroughs.
I'm not a walkthrough person. I did recently and my husband
like oh man like picked on me sohard because I was give a shit
about walkthroughs because I would rather just play a game
he's like wrecked. If I spend all this time reading
how someone else got through it so will you read it rather than

(06:27):
watched it though? So that no I ended up watching
it. I was like wow.
Is watch it. I know this is like, it's twice
as bad. So, honestly just feel like what
I watched it and it wasn't much further than I had made it.
And I watched it for like longerthan I was playing it.
So the person was just like getting every single collectible
and stuff, so it was like takinga really long time boring.

(06:49):
I know, so that's meet by the way, that's me.
When I play a game is just I'm acompletionist.
It's terrible. Yeah.
Watch out for less than an hour.I played for probably about 45
minutes to an hour, and it got to a point that I was just like,
well, this is the amount of would have played roughly 28.
There's not really any story that's happened.
It's just sneaking which like, boom if you're especially if

(07:10):
you're watching it, I don't playAssassin's Creed.
I'm not into that. That's for my husband.
He likes that I don't like this.Sneaking around is for thief.
I just want to go in fighting like guns blazing, but I kept
getting killed that way. So I like had to sneak as I was
getting so anxious and frustrated, so I just stopped
but as it turns out, this episode isn't even in the game.

(07:31):
None of this isn't the Kansas isn't real so it doesn't matter.
Nothing matter at all. I looked it up because I was
like, who is Kathleen? They made up this character for
the show, which is fine which makes me wonder like, oh, should
I have looked this up before? I did watch all his nonsense
Garden. All right?
Before I wasted all my time because I still have to play it.
So I like what did I was what was I doing?

(07:52):
As it turns out the group that Ihad encountered in the game is
called the hunters and their in Pittsburgh, I think they're
supposed to be anyway. This Group is supposed to be
like the same group kind of but they wanted to give more depth
of emotion and more gray area of, like, no one's a good guy or
a bad guy, like, they're all just doing what they can to

(08:13):
survive, or, you know, or whatever they think is, right?
It's like that Old Chestnut thatwere familiar with in The
Walking Dead. You're right.
Are you trying to say that people from Pittsburgh lack that
Nuance? I didn't say that.
Clearly the showrunners said that so suck on that, Pittsburgh
I You didn't even bother puttingit on VA is like, no, no, it's

(08:34):
the showrunners. That's what's actually takes
away the showrunners. Okay, I will say kind of jokes.
Those are in the game. Yeah and you know what, a couple
weeks ago I think after the first episode I had seen like
one of those Super Cuts from thegame of all the punny jokes and
not all but you know nice and Ice torrent of punny jokes from
Ellie bad? Yeah bad.

(08:55):
There's so bad. Joe was not about it in the
game. No Joel is just always liked.
Stop it. Stop in the show though today.
We did get a little of that fastforward to like when Joel's
like. Okay.
Alright, that's pretty funny. I felt like that was the first
time Joel had laughed in 20 years, the worst joke.

(09:17):
I was so gross. Yeah.
But those are always the best. Yeah, maybe it's the first
thing. He said, it's so stupid.
It's so dumb. I mean, when I was working in
the restaurant, one of my favorite things to do, without
we go to my customers would be just tell them a stupid joke,
because if you can get your customer to With you then you've
got them. You know what I mean?
And so you go up you're like, hey, I got a little joke for you
and they like, oh yeah, that's funny.
You know, even though it's stupid I liked was the face.

(09:38):
Don't but then they like you or at least they kind of dropped
their guard a little bit, right? You've made a connection with
him in his stupid jokes. Will do it.
Yeah, Louis seems to think that that's true to the.
She says, the jokes are great tohear says, yes them laughing.
At the end was really nice moment.
I knew they would root. I knew they would ruin it.
Yeah, well yeah, obviously low Sakura says yes we are
essentially more important anyway responding to you Bridget
for being here. She says, oh my god.

(09:59):
I've not watched any of the playthrough this.
Week. I seriously need to catch up
with without passing where we are on the show.
Well, apparently, rigid saves you some time a little bit, I
guess, maybe so thankfully, that's what Bridget does.
She's here to serve and put pressure on herself to be a
perfectionist. And literally, yeah, it's like
that's my Mo, right? So yeah.

(10:19):
Well, you're still on brand, geta little peek into my psyche.
Everyone. Well, we all have our thing
apparently last week, as I was relisting to the show for the
blog this morning, I realized how much of a conspiracy theory
I am threatening myself to be. So apparently Fred was Federer,
was there from the jump. It's a plant emic.

(10:41):
Oh my god. You're worse than I am.
And that's saying something Ivan.
I will Fast imagination, man. I don't let myself say the
things out loud usually, but Bill had a way of bringing it
out of me, not Bridget, but BillI whole do.
I hear they're the same person space.
I know that. The magazine in the back was

(11:02):
straight out of the video game. Yes, exactly.
That is something I wanted a comment about there.
Were a handful of direct scenes in this episode, because they're
changing the story. So, it's smart that there,
including these little pieces for people to stop complaining.
Yeah, because like Ellie doesn'thave a gun at this point in the
game. Hmm, so none of that would have

(11:23):
happened. The jokes were there.
The magazine was there. The comic book.
That is a thing that we see what, what comic book.
I'm assumes the comic book Route.
I'm sorry. So the scene in the car, or in
the back of the truck where she's like, grabbing all that
stuff, once she stole that stufffrom bill, which is really funny
because, well, he's not gonna live my looking.
Oh, I told her not to touch thisin the video game.

(11:45):
That's what. Okay, I wasn't clear on where
you were stop. It was so funny and then that
she was messing with Joel about that.
Why are these Pages stuck together in the video game that?
That happens to a yes. It's the exact same line.
The reason that she starts talking to Joel Isn't like oh
hey check out what I got it was she's like oh man and he's like
I thought you were sleeping and she's like I got to the end of

(12:08):
this comic book I'm sorry because I got onto like this
tangent earlier today where I was like you found a comic book
and you like Checker the back ofit and it's a Dark Horse comic.
And I was like, is this a real comic?
And then I had to look it up andit's a tie in to Fear, The
Walking Dead. It's not real.
It was made up for this, it's called Savage Starlight.
Sci-fi comic about them. A doctor Starlight, who can

(12:31):
Travel faster than light, the speed of light, something to
that effect, okay, something like that.
Yeah, definitely flash, definitely happy.
I'm sorry. I thought she introduced that at
the end. I was excited that there was
like this potential for that to be in there too, but no, that
didn't happen. You know, why don't we jump from
there? To the end actually of this
episode where there are illusions of Kathleen?
I think looking for these two boys, these two young men or

(12:54):
boys like one looks definitely older and they are depicted in
some of the drawings in the roomthat they find where they were
holding out in. I'm right.
He had the little Superman, the little mask drawn on Sam, as the
younger one and Henry is the older one.
Oh, so that's the Henry. She keeps going on and on and on
about, right? This is a kid.
Yeah, I mean, she seems nutty right?

(13:15):
Like, I mean, you don't really know you don't really, really
know and for all we know she hasa good reason.
That's the thing. Like we're brothers dad.
That's a reason. Well, that's a whole other
reason though. Maybe we love, I got the feeling
that she thinks that Henry is this big Mastermind behind All
these attacks or whatever and it's like this little kid.
So is this is like a super genius?

(13:36):
Or I was assuming it was like a grown person who is caring for a
child. I was thinking the same thing.
Yeah. Clearly there's an element of
what we often refer to as kids in the apocalypse.
What are you gonna do? Cute kids in America right here.
Just play that play that tune. Yeah.
Well, I was thinking, like, we're getting the house Carl
then the opposite of your like, Sam Anderson.

(13:58):
And you get the other says, brother Ron Anderson, is there.
All over the place. Kids in the apocalypse,
especially kids born after the apocalypse.
Except for Judith, obviously, because we're stupid, if she's
great. But I'm eager to see what this
is all about their like, playingpretend, and they have guns and
they're telling Ellie and Joel to shush.
And it's a nice little interesting setup for the 24

(14:19):
like this. Two-parter episode Whispers.
Well, they are wearing eye mask little baby halfa.
It's like it's like The Whispersexcept with superheroes.
Whoo, I don't like that at all. Well, anyway, there is a general
sense of creepiness throughout all different sides of this
fact. And except for like the doctor
who only seems like the normal one and yet he was a part of or

(14:42):
involved in fedra, it seems likeif I'm not mistaken.
It's funny. Because we've painted fedra
especially me last week and sortof this like Insidious
governmental, bullshit planned, emic organization that skirts
the freedoms of others. They were set out through the
federal government and then thisguy seems like the only normal
person a person that we as the audience we steps, right?

(15:04):
I guess based on Kathleen's allegations he was selling out
his neighbor's. So it was a real Nazi Germany
parallel there. Mmm.
Yeah. Assuming that's even true, she
could be totally crazy. There could be some sort of
exposure to Mercury or somethinghappening.
I don't know crazy because she'sbeen living in the apocalypse

(15:25):
for 20 years. That's kind of a Vibe.
I was getting to like a Mad Max type situation.
Oh, in there. Vehicles.
Yeah Walking Dead. Eternal just said Kathleen's
group reminded and then of them of the CRM - 2 helicopters but I
was thinking they were like morelike a Mad Max version of CRM
because they weren't shiny and new and all matching uniforms.
They all had cobbled together stuff.

(15:46):
They had a truck that had lookedlike it had panels welded on it
and stuff painted on it. And yeah, that's like they had
matching uniforms. They all had like, like
mismatching face masks and helmets and yeah, it reminds me
of that movie. What was it called?
Was it doomsday. Let's go to the comments like
walk. He did his Turtle says that this
episode is like is like the father-daughter dynamic.
Joe that Joel and Ellie have those morons laughs because you

(16:07):
know, we're funny. Yeah, she says she got jokes.
She reminds me of. I can't think of her name on
Fear Charlie. Oh.
Okay. Secure his Charlie interesting?
Maybe. Yeah.
I can dig it obviously. Like next level.
It was doomsday. Okay, well, what is doomsday
again? Sorry.
Justice backtrack and 2008 film directed by Neil.
Marshall it starred Rhona Mitra and Malcolm McDowell, which

(16:29):
least. Okay, right.
There's an Action that happens. And then an entire portion of
the city is quarantined and they're told that everyone there
is dead but it's not true. They have like their own weird
Mad Max civilization, that they've created, they've run
amok. Yeah.
It's kind of like, Lord of the Flies meets Mad Max.
I'm Malcolm McDowell is trying to get things trying to get

(16:51):
water out of people. No, that's a different movie.
Whoa, he's gonna do a lot of just be sci-fi shit too.
It's just weird. Post-apocalyptic stuff it's like
going from Like Clockwork, Orange to today.
The guy where I did not mean to him with the rocket is Walking
Dead. Eternal, they thank you.

(17:14):
Thank you, which is based also based on a video game which
scared the pants out of me. It's a good video game.
You youngsters, you know, you grew up all the 3D rendering and
opengl and DirectX in all those fancy Graphics while you must
look on Doom is if it's like what this is not scary at all.

(17:35):
Meanwhile 1994 version of Dave was playing do and it was just
absolutely. I was reading the comments and
he just came out of my face. Like I'm not even Here, what is
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, go play Doom now, thank you very much.
Let me share my screen. As I play Doom on the internet,
the world. Why you bump your?

(17:55):
I hope you're streaming on Twitch to.
I am just really gonna do it this way.
I'll pass the copyright for the music.
Anyway, it's good sometimes to recover from this disaster.
Louis, is she shot Morgan? Oh, Ginny.
Yeah, to, here's his oh, Jen. 80didn't change my mouth, I'm
sorry. Whoa.
Whoa this isn't the boys. That would be Ashley anyway, but

(18:20):
when you saw Ashley, you thoughtit's Ginny in Magic.
My first thought was Kolby. Oh yeah.
Good point. Good point.
I don't know. The impression I get of these
people. Is that like you said, charity,
I don't know if they're good or they're bad.
It just seems to me like, no matter what we think of them for
now, Joel Just judging from the last few episodes was formerly
part of the fireflies did not like, fedra from the jump.

(18:42):
Obviously doesn't really want toside himself.
Anybody know, connections to people which, you know, tessie's
and Joel, he wasn't with the fireflies.
It seems like he was with the fireflies in his much, as he was
trying to keep his brother alive.
Quote-unquote to get to Boston qz, let's say, or I don't know,
maybe afterwards for a little while until he met Tess and that

(19:02):
made it so that he would just forget everybody who cares.
I don't know, I don't know, maybe I'm wrong if you guys
think otherwise, I think he was more, like, Tommy during the
fireflies, but even he got disillusioned with that, but
remembering the episode. One when the truck when they get
in the truck and they leave to go to work and there's a desert
storm and bumper sticker. Oh I didn't see that.
I got zoomed. It was Joel's truck me.

(19:23):
Now that he said he says that Tommy was an Operation Desert
Storm and nodule. Okay, nodule I'm guessing it
must have been hit but even I know that's not really
important. But, you know, eyes, I assume
that Joel was the Operation Desert Storm, veteran 92.
He did make it seem like it was only, Tommy, the joined up.
Yeah yeah, yeah, well clarified,that.
Yeah. But it was, it was Tommy the
salami Tommy's a joiner apparently.

(19:43):
That's Thing he wants to save the world.
Like most of us feel like when they when we watch these shows
we are but turns out we're like a bill we're about bells and
maybe all these you know, this town is basically a bunch of
slightly less Billy bills. Imagine if a whole bunch of
bills join together and formed atown, that's how these people

(20:05):
are acting. That's a trick question because
pills would never join together.Exactly.
As to say Build Together playingtogether, it would have to be a
town of bills and Thanks. This is joke there somewhere.
I'm afraid to Hero says, Melanielynskey is getting cast as a
psychopath more and more often her.
First big role was as a total psychopath because she was Rose

(20:28):
on two and a half and she was a complete and utter nut job on
that show too was it was awesome, including shoving,
Charlie in front of a fucking speeding train just by Charlie
Sheen. When Charlie Sheen left the
show. I just I love because she's got
that voice. So, Like it's just very
unassuming. It lets us have comedic timing

(20:49):
Yellow Jackets fireflies, I mean, whatever it's all insects
she was on Castle Rock, she wasn't necessarily crazy on
there. That's fine because I have to
admit something that I haven't really said out loud on this
show ever and it's that I have this really weird attraction to
her. It's very strange.
She was on a lady. This is exactly how my wife

(21:09):
described her attraction to her like oh he's kind of
good-looking Pedro. Pascal!
Unassumingly attractive you like?
You have to take a second look to be like, oh yeah, Melanie's
the same way. But for me and you know guys we
whatever everything that moves, but like her, it's like you kind
of have to do that s looking like, oh, yeah, mmm.
Yeah, it's also like the roles that she takes she as an actor

(21:31):
takes on these really really smart unassuming rolls to the
you mentioned yet Yellowjackets names, I love the shots in the
scenery when they were driving in this in this episode.
However I would have been super duper duper lie.
About driving over a big-ass Bridge after 20 years of no
maintenance and make a point of world Beyond when they had to

(21:52):
cross the river and all the bridges were falling in blown
up, right, st. Louis, right near st.
Louis about Madman Across the Water.
I always forget the water. Yeah.
So there's a really cool show called togetherness with Mark
duplass in Melanie lynskey and aSteve's.
This is which my friend Joshua go back and forth like trying to
say no you're a Steve's. This is now I'ma Steve's.

(22:13):
This is funny. And of awkwardly looking guy,
great show. It's on.
I think it was on HBO. Yeah, that's right.
Also on HBO. So, if you're watching The Last
of Us, you might take a detour at some point and watch the
short-lived. I think to season comedy
television show. Really, really great.
And she is amazing in that show. She kind of starts off like a
little slow and then all of a sudden she kind of owns her

(22:35):
character just before you cross into season two I'm sorry to
detour. This is how much I really like
this character and this actor and now why I'm so attracted to
her? Let's move on everybody.
I hope she becomes really, really interesting on the show
because right now, I really don't know what to think of her
as opposed to the last episode where I really leaned into my
paranoid. Not schizophrenia with regarding
bill and his conspiracy theories.

(22:58):
So, I'm kind of on the fence about how I feel about her
character Kathleen. Where do you think she lies on
the spectrum of Good Guy versus bad guy?
Or oh, she's crazy town. Yeah, I think she's, I think
she's a little Loony Toons. What if it turns out that she's
kind of, right? And these kids are kind of
cuckoo bananas, dangerous in superhero greasepaint and their
faces. And well, then this show was
going in a very strange Direction, which maybe it is, I

(23:22):
don't know. Do you see you never know guys,
you never know the song at the end that they played at the end
of the episode is called true Faith by new order.
It was released in 1987, it's an80s trouble because there's
trouble, but the B-side of this album is called 1963.
Now Pac-Man. Do you want that shit away?

(23:44):
When was that Hank Williams songreleased?
And is that where we get the title track for this episode?
Where does please hold on to my hand?
Come from, which I spelled wrong.
Actually, in the Title. I don't think that was in the
song lyrics. It's all never get out of this
world alive. I think the Hank Williams, huh.
Mmm, watched him like five times.
Sakura says Walking Dead. Attorney was asking because I
haven't seen it good. Probably better off.

(24:06):
Ask your assistant right, you'renot miss every time.
People try to make a doom feature film and some have been
made. There was one Netflix release of
that came out like maybe a couple years after the game came
out with her like Doom 3D. I think it was they came out
with another Doom remake. I heard it was also garbage,
just don't do it, just leave it.Along to here says, I feel like
I saw her always a bit off-kilter.

(24:26):
But yeah, she's full-blown. Crazy.
Welcome to Turtle, says, I know I'm like on the movies.
Well, it's okay. We just leave lived longer.
That's the only Edge we have messing with me.
You're clearly. Okay, you're fine.
We'll teach you things. It's not like old people.
Do anyway. Sakura says, no way.
I'm driving over that bridge. Good, because we want you and
Richie didn't all those people'syour family safe.

(24:46):
The ones you care about. No way.
I'm walking to the Charles is the Joe Kelly told Joe at the
end made Joe laughs was funny. It wasn't It's just like dumb
jokes. Sometimes they just like invade
its theory. In fact, you like these
cordyceps. It's just sometimes it just
burrow their way into your lungsand she's just boom.
And then all of a sudden you can't stop laughing.
And also story was pretty good. Yeah.

(25:08):
Have to ask you a question but you serious question, you know,
what is it sometimes sometimes it's not the delivery but like
how if somebody reacts to it andjust an off way or catches you
then the other person start let's start It's laughing.
And then you start laughing at your own joke, obviously.
Like I do all the time and then that magic happens, right?

(25:28):
If a bar for Laughs up just like, put it on and then like
all of a sudden like is what we what was that?
Then you all start laughing at. What the hell is?
What's that? You tried it, you tried.
It's just that you guys. Oh man, Hilarie Burton Smith is
on that show. I mean Hilarie Burton.
Hilarie Burton before she was Hilarie Burton Morgan.

(25:50):
Right. That's I think that's what you
meant. Like, not Negan Smith and
anyway, There's a super and said, I don't, I don't blame you
for that. That I love that.
That's good. It was so believable.
I didn't even notice. I like my head is like that's
wrong. But why is it?
Why is it wrong that? Meghan Smith.
Yeah, Kelly Brennan Smith everybody.

(26:12):
Welcome to Prime Time bitch. Yeah yeah, yeah.
Freddy reference. Should I have said, I have gone.
Welcome to Prime Time, bitch. Well, Bridget, how did you feel
about this episode overall? All right, I was happy.
There was a movement. That was good, but I was a
little curious, what they were going to do with it, because
this portion of the game is not its anxiety-ridden but it's not

(26:35):
thrilling in any way. So, so it makes sense that they
created a character that would kind of Riles things up.
Can I just say? I'm so angry about the truck,
elaborate the truck blocking theother post two seconds.
Oh, the S10, the pickup, then it's gone.
And then all of the goods you have, Bill are gone and that
aggravates me on such a level. Maybe that's an allegory,

(26:59):
because I have this feeling coming out of the last episode,
was just really wholesome, that this was the port in the storm
of like, things that are just going to go wrong from here on
in and for a while, which makes sense, which is why I wasn't so
terribly upset. Also, we've gone through The
Walking Dead and beyond my brainis conditioned to bad shit
happening. You're a Bills and I know that

(27:22):
he would have had bug-out bags. And you don't have a bug out
bag. Dude.
At least got her one sack of random crap that she's thrown
together. Come on Bill would be so
disappointed in you. Well, Bill never had a kid, you
know. So where's your bug out bag?
Dude. Joel didn't have a bag.
What's wrong with you guys? Maybe over the years, he just

(27:42):
stopped being a prepper ish person.
You had the opportunity. This is what, what's the point
Bill had everything? I had a really weird thought
talking about bail for a second. It creeped up on me a couple
days. For the weekend and I thought,
what if Bill didn't die, but if he said that to Frank to kind of
ease is mine and I thought to myself like oh maybe be sword,

(28:03):
like the games is because maybe he's still out there somewhere
and I would love to show up later on.
It would really be sad to their love story though, but it would
be well, Hulan terms of the TV show, I don't think it would
take away from the love story but the thought, like jumped
into my brain about like how Maybe he said that to Frank to

(28:25):
maybe ease his mind, but, you know, sometimes people say I
want you to go on without me, it's almost more comforting to
know that. Oh, he's gonna die in my arms.
Well at least I won't worry about who's going to take care
of him. Then we know if we get to a
point in the show where looks like both Ellie and Joel her and
I will go bill just show up and I know but right and save the

(28:45):
day because there was a feeling that I got in my mind that
wouldn't it be something? If Bill said there's still
people out there that I kind of care about and that Maybe my job
here on this Earth is not done and so that it's just the
sneaking weird feeling. It's similar to the feeling I
have about Ellie's powers or quote, unquote powers like for
the audio podcast and I don't know, maybe just something to

(29:06):
take the Pulse on every now. And again, see if he's still out
there, you're such a conspiracy.I have to tell you guys
sometimes when I think of something, because if it does
show up, then you're like, hmm. That's interesting conspiracy
theory, Dave, Sheridan. Shake of her head.
Never mind everybody gets another.

(29:27):
It's reminds me of another conspiracy theory that we heard
endlessly in The Walking Dead. I'm just gonna leave that there.
Where is he? No, no, no, no.
We're going out. That would be something.
What if he does? But what if is it was the actor
and we all go, it's he is like no, he's a different character

(29:48):
on the show but we've been waiting for him for so long.
But what if his name on the showis Heath?
And then you're really Confused or like this.
What if what if this? It's like when a little kid
tells you stuff like, look blue to this that time, remember that

(30:10):
time? Remember that time gave by Ellie
had magic powers and then you say yeah, yeah, it's cool.
That is cool. Yeah.
Okay, thank you. Says, I feel this episode was to
bring Joel and Ellie closer to really be a reminder that Joel
to Joel that she needs him. I felt that too.

(30:31):
I felt that sort of happening. I feel it ebbing and flowing and
I feel like he she's more than cargo and at least cares about
her too because she's a kid, she's a living being.
Louis is how do you, how do you go into the City?
And not know people are going tobe there.
I thought it was dumb. You know.
I was thinking the same thing. What are you guys?
Laughing at you, I'm laughing because Walking Dead Turtle
says, I'm liking how the show isgoing?
Are you talking about this show? The Last of Us, you know, if

(30:56):
it's this show, I'm not sure what you're, what you doing
disagree, cancel, this is top-notch shit on your
subscribing to, folks, I mean, why is I'm yelling at you guys.
The hosts not the audience is onpoint, okay?
I'm sorry. I was very interesting.
Question are point. I was the same way.

(31:17):
I was like, okay, so you're going to go into the city where
all the action is real, that people might be and then they
pass by the Black. Boston qz like why are the doors
open? And didn't turn right?
The fucker guess we're going on foot because I'm not going
through this city. Let's just back this shit up.
That guy does come out holding his stomach look help.
And guys remember and fear when I fear season for that's how

(31:42):
Alicia, that's how they stopped out and John and Morgan in that
in Swati, because Alicia came stumbling out into the road.
Whoo, whoo! Whoo!
Whoo, whoo, whoo. And then, they came up to see
what's wrong. She's like, Bang.
The end of that season 10, whatever mirror, and the
apocalypse never stopped herself, but like it's just,

(32:02):
it's John and Morgan. Okay, they're gonna stop because
there will just redirect. Anyway, I don't kill people.
Neither do I life is precious? Yeah, because it, what are we
calling the Gunslinger and the karate, man?
Right when Joel realized Ellie had the gun?
I mean, I was like, is he gonna let her keep it?
Or is he gonna take it? We just watched Of Thrones last

(32:24):
night and I had this feeling like when the Arya and the Hound
were together and the Hound was teaching, Aria, how to kill
people. I feel like that's what Joel was
doing with Elliott and make sureyou keep your finger, you know?
But it was like, it was funny. My not sure if I, like, how he
grabbed the gun to, to make surelike, oh, this is why you do
this. Yeah, it's table this way, but I

(32:45):
do like the tug-of-war that he'shaving right now about not only
keeping her safe, but keeping her whole as a child.
Well, he's like his Life was so on pause, and he must have seen
other kids in the apocalypse that aren't like her, but he's
it's just maybe he's to reminding him of his daughter
and they are getting close and he doesn't like it.
And there's a goofy and she makes like inappropriate jokes.

(33:08):
There's enough similarity there for him to see her as kind of
like Sarah. Will she just listened to him?
She agreed to the rules. And one of them is we do this my
way and he like don't question it and she's constantly like
yes. And then immediately Doesn't do
much faster. Which yeah, she asks him about
his past because of the gun but he's like you're going to shoot

(33:31):
your ass off and she puts it in her.
Let's rock. Why are you doing this?
My wife is watching some of the show with me and I was on time
do is doing the same thing. You were.
I was kind of like, picking up my fingers to the frickin skin
and she's like, what are you doing?
And I'm like, you know, she's she is funny.

(33:52):
Okay, I'll give you that. But she's being so dangerous.
She's like why? Like honey listen?
Okay, listen people get killed For Less on these shows, and
she's a kid. She's like, yeah, you're right.
She is a, she should be a kid. I'm like, honey, no shouldn't be
again. What you do and these shows its
don't do it. You need to not be a kid but
also be a kid and then she kind of got it for some reason.

(34:14):
Like okay, I'm a little pressed that you understood?
What I said, Carl got it. He fucked up.
He learned from that mistake andhe never did that fucking
mistake again. So he was a kid but he was also
So, a kid that mostly did smart stuff about all the time.
He didn't get in the house, but that was probably the best
decision for that day. He's in the house.
I refuse to that Alicia's Dead. Walking Dead material says yes,

(34:36):
it all depends on what we're notanymore.
They're prepping her for a spin off.
I don't think she's either. Okay.
Well, welcome to the terms is because if she's dead, then they
character destroy her. Yeah, I don't think she is
personally. That's My personal take my
personal opinion to there's a heated argument about it at the

(34:57):
time. Right.
On a move on from this. Yeah.
Louis says, speaking of moving on, he tried to keep his
daughter safe and I think he thinks that when tried to keep
her. Yeah.
So I think there's a little bit transference to she sees the
Sarah that could have been in l.a.
Maybe that's why. I said, there's a little bit of
a tug-of-war confusion because like, when he sees Ellie
possibly already, he's thinking of what would I do with Sarah?

(35:21):
And he's starting to realize that.
Yeah. This girl's been in the
apocalypse. She knows shorts or knows what
goes on and she needs to know how to survive and Sarah when
she saw how Joel didn't stop to help those people.
She was mortified and she didn'tget it.
And when Joel does what he has to do with that kid, which
that's another thing that we should probably talk about.

(35:42):
The K2 was already shot. Who's kind of crying.
Mommy, Ryan, Ryan is his name, right?
So she does what he says. She goes into the hole.
Get in your hole. Okay, just bringing that up from
ICC. Seven worker finale of Fear, The
Walking Dead. We were talking about a lot, a
lot of Fear, The Walking Dead references today, she allows
Joel to do what he has to do with Brian and sort of questions

(36:03):
it but not really. But in a way that says, have you
kill have you killed innocent people?
What do you guys think of that moment?
There's they're obviously the human day-to-day part of me that
was going. He's no longer a threat but I
guess since he's alive. He might tell somebody, they
might get their older brother, to beat up, beat him up.
There's no winning at that pointthough.
He's lying to save his life whenhe says we can trade with you.

(36:26):
That's not what's going to happen and you're naive if you
think that's what's going to happen.
And I hate to say that because Iwant for people to be good but
they're not. Well but the thing is is not
like they just unprovoked killedthat guy.
He was trying to kill them and they started it when they threw
a brick through the fucking windshield of the truck and they
majorly fucked up. They were defending themselves

(36:47):
in every sense but I did try to look at it from the other side
there. Well, I was thinking that this
town we don't Who they are and they might be coming to get us,
which it seems like that is sortof what's Happening Henry.
And what was the other guy? The other kid Sam radioed for
backup or something and this wasthe guy like what, right?
This is the guy so this is why I'm like is like Kathleen is not

(37:09):
sunny but also I'm sort of wondering if that's true sort of
right because what if it ends upbeing that these kids are like
whoa major cuckoo bananas but they have their shit together I
mean I'd love that for them but But for that I love that for
you. That's like how that called
town. It's Randall from the from the

(37:33):
Walking Dead Season. One, two, three, yes, yeah yeah,
yeah, which is an honorable estate myth, that Shane is right
and in hindsight, is Shane was right?
A lot of the time just not always he's right all the time
sometimes. Here Glen eyebrows out.

(37:55):
You mean my day Library? I can't do it.
It's like it daily food. Like yeah.
Sorry Glenn. I don't know why.
I gotta like he's like that was like yeah.
The audio podcast is worthless and worthless.
Worthless secures. His bride was an idiot.
Yeah, well, good luck. At the same time, a kid.

(38:16):
So is that what they're playing with like?
He's still a kid, right? And he's calling for mommy.
He didn't seem like a kid until he was shot.
In the back by a lie that was meant to make you feel some type
of way in the moment about fusing.
Yeah. Emotionally confused tears as I
wanted him to just shut his face.
He was literally trying to kill Joe seconds before that.
Yeah. And I again felt that too, but I
did feel like it's an apocalypseif he's paralyzed put him out of

(38:38):
his misery. I don't even know if he's
paralyzed, probably doesn't evenmatter, right?
Well, she shot him in the back and he said he couldn't move his
legs. It seemed like he was, he was
down. That's not gel.
Did him a favor I guess in the apocalypse.
Lois says she reminds me of Jenny.
Wait, we were revoked Kathleen. I can see that.
Yeah. Except Jenny wasn't but as crazy
like she actually had squeezes. Every reasoning behind her

(39:00):
Madness, she wasn't just crazy. But then again, maybe the show
is making us think that she's crazy just to turn around and
say that she's not because that's kind of where I'm coming
from. Tend to do that because we don't
have the whole story, right? We're just getting these bits
and Bobs and our experiences filling in the blanks, not only
with in life, but in shows, we're just all over the place.
Maybe Henry is like the dread pirate Roberts like replace.

(39:23):
Somebody figures with another, he's a little kid.
See that? That makes what Bridget just
said earlier. I like that for him.
All I would love that for him. Oh, that makes that more apt.
I would love that for him if he was the dread, but I am not
drunk. Pirate Roberts.
Why is he Andre? The Giant is that's in this is

(39:44):
my buddy here in a peanut. Anybody want a peanut.
So it's very clear from Austria right there Bo Anyway, before I
even got on, I was like thinkingto myself.
What is there to really talk about in terms of reactions?
And a lot of these items allow really like straightforward
except for 33 was pretty meaty. Well, through a lot of emotional

(40:07):
and character development, but raising has been pretty like
straightforward will be more to go through later when we talk
about the missing music and the specifics and what the cast and
producers have said about the this episode and all that kind
of stuff. But for the most part it's like
this. It is what happened.
It was a really Be straightforward episode.
As I was getting the water just before.
Just before we got on. I was thinking like, oh, it's

(40:27):
like literally The Quiet Ones. You have to watch these episodes
when they are quiet and steady and less dialogue and some
places and there's like Nuance in terms of what's happening, it
feels like there's a lot more totalk about when less happens and
this episode a lot happens and so it like you said pretty
straightforward. We're going One Direction.
This next episode is going to bethe second parts right up of

(40:49):
this storyline. Yeah and then I like that, they
held it back and then I Cool. We'll move on and move them out.
Yeah. And I have to finish this are in
the season. You had said in the first
episode or the first reaction that there were nine.
I just looked up on IMDb and there in 10.
It was nine, for some reason youwere right, I think, but IMDb I
think they just changed it when I checked last with the title in

(41:11):
the runtime where it's now 10 episodes.
Interesting. But then again, they haven't
really released. Unlike The Walking Dead In Fear,
The Walking Dead. When they release almost all
the, the titles for the episodes, they haven't even had
and the trailers for With episodes down in the chairs for
all the episodes. Others in the spoilers for the.
So if you want a good recap for the next season, just just tuned
in to IMDb, they'll have all theteasers for all the episodes.

(41:33):
Well, as you got am, see, if youwant all the spoilers.
Yeah, just as father, Twitter account, do AMC.
The other walking fear TWD on and Twitter Walking Dead
underscore him. See on Twitter just and then
they'll take them down below whoI think we messed up.
Nah, just kidding. The leave them up.
So I do want to make one more quick.
Comparison to The Walking Dead universe.

(41:55):
So, Joel tells her you haven't seen the world in the world.
Beyond one of the big themes, was these kids have never
experienced a world, that wasn'ta zombie world and like when
they're in the high school and they're dancing and Imagining
the dance and all that, and I got a wrong event wrong end of a
telescope season. 1 was go and Ikind of got that Vibe here when
they're driving a Nellie's looking at all the remnants of

(42:17):
our world, the empty floating docks and the following train
trestles. And obviously An overgrown and
ruined. And that was something I thought
about, you know, like she's never experienced any world
other than the qz. Right.
Did she see the plane in the last episode was, I?
Yes. That's right.
I thought that was so jarring tohear because we complain about

(42:38):
stuff like that. All the time riding in a plane
and how it's cramped and it's not nice and it's expensive and
it's uncomfortable and the errors recirculated it's gross
and like, right. We don't like it right for her
to be like you were in the sky. That's Straight out of a Louis,
CK b 2, which we set on the psyche as before.
Well, then how many times and Crowley times do you get in your

(42:59):
car and go? All it's like a spaceship that's
my fucking car. I do this shit every day but you
know it's seeing the world through new eyes and that's what
Joel's It's. So it's just you see the world
differently than the old hatefuldestructive world.
It's a race reminder of what we have.
I've been trying to say that on a serious note.
That's one of the biggest takeaways I get from these.
The shows is how lucky we are. How Wow.

(43:23):
Lest they even when things are shitty really shitty seemingly.
Right? Well we have our health in a
time where most people have goodhealth.
They live longer child. Mortality is dropping fine but
it's there's never been a bettertime to have a child than now
it. Well let's say the past two
centuries. Let's say or past Century let's
just go with that. It means you don't have to
sacrifice your kids in Winter, to be your workers on the farm

(43:46):
and in like half of you don't make it, you know, you have kids
to work the farm. It's never been a better time to
be alive. But and yet we're like you.
In the last episode. Bridget how the malays right?
Oh, my shitty life, with my dumbemails Wing, humans are never
happy with our lives. It's a, it's a double-edged
sword, the right on the one hand.

(44:06):
Yeah, we're never happy because of the other edge of the sword
which is, there's a part of us that's always in some meager
way, trying to do better or do more or want more out of life.
And so sometimes, in order to goin that direction, we kind of
look down on the more malays shitty boring things in Our
Lives because we want that better thing, whether or not we
have the drive and the gumption to get that thing is a whole

(44:29):
other story. But because that part of is
like, ah, my shitty email, my dumb airplane.
Am I'm in the middle seat? Getting a 12 dollar sandwich.
Just we just take these things for granted.
You're sitting in a chair in thesky.
Louis c.k., I'm done. I'm gonna credit him because
looking funniest thing in the world and your Wi-Fi is out.
Look outside, you're in the clouds, trying to channel the

(44:52):
voice too. I just As comedy special last
last night, fucking great, greatto see him on stage again.
Anyway, to here says, I felt more bad for Randall than I did
for Brian. I was very conflicted over
Randall as well. Walking to Charles's episodes,
45 minutes. So it makes sense.
Yeah, 51 runs out. That's why that's why we've gone
right at 10 or we were able to tears.
Is how many episodes will this season be and 10?

(45:12):
This so far, as we can tell, hashtag, bring brick back home.
Oh yeah, I hope so. That would be so great for him
women. I see him, I love him, I love
that for him. Yeah.
Oh, there was one thing that I wanted to touch on before we go.
What do you think is in the ground that has been cratered
in? Oh yeah.
What a giant fungi. Like it's a big giant fungi.

(45:36):
All connected under that's worth.
Making it move but say that a little louder.
What? It's a Tremor.
It's Tremors. It's finally happening drama.
Nothing fungal related. Right?
That we think it's drums. Think it's the movie Tremors?
No a Tremor. Dave, what did they have a name?
They had an The Tremor, they call me big worms.
They at ridiculous, names for that, but yeah, rust is in one

(45:59):
of the blog's that we wrote. Do you think it might be over
time? Anyway, do you think we might be
in trowing? This might be an intro to what
the bloaters might look like that.
Was my thought? Well, then why don't you say
that's why I was like, well, andthen I stopped you.
You don't want to be the crazy guy.
That said, that you wanted me tobe the bill.
It's gonna know it's gonna be something weird.

(46:20):
I don't know. The thing is, I don't know what
they're going to do. Because I've been played through
enough a the game to know if there's other special infected,
I sigh. I assume that there are because
I already thought of a bloater, which was a horrific giant
clicker. Basically that just blew things
that you blew Spore packs that you would you like, isn't a

(46:41):
thing in this. So they have to kind of, so
there's something else, I feel like, but it's something
something something gross. I like walking dead Eternal
style. It's a Creature From Hell, from
what it looked like, Which brings back to mouth.
Yeah, it's just actually from Doom, it's a floating head with
how many eyes I forget. And then it shoots Fireballs

(47:02):
from its big head to case somebody got.
Yeah, it's gonna be disgusting, right?
Because you have to replace spores with the like mycelial,
tenderly viney things. It's gonna look like a big pot
of being Sprout. Spaghetti.
Yeah, maybe like there's a blue. There's like a character on, on
my hero Academia are lack that de que fights.
It's just like, it's like this, this This the guy is all muscle

(47:25):
fibers so I thinking that's whatit's going to look like.
I'll probably post about in the blog but the sarlacc big fuck.
It's just a big mouth. Is that what you're saying is a
big old trimmer mag be hole in the ground?
Wait, what be whole qualify be whole.
It sounds a little full of bees.My guy, Dave, gotcha.
I gotcha. It's like pew pew.

(47:50):
Look, sometimes I just want to censor myself.
Okay, I've got a foul mouth and so sometimes I just like to try
to keep it. Clear.
Cool. I love that for you anyway.
So I think this is gonna be the end end of this reaction video.
Damn, is always stealing my coollingo.
You guys know I see whenever yousay something cool.
I'm like, hey, let's just keep reusing this until everybody

(48:12):
hates me for it and and that my dear friends is the end of the
reaction portion of this particular discussion of The
Last of Us is fourth episode 2. Titled, please, hold on to my
hand and now we bring you to thefull episode breakdown where we
discuss the finer points of thisepisode.
I hope you enjoyed it. Take it away.
Dave way, our squawking dead, a podcast pulverizing episodes

B, Ru is equal. TR and we're here live with you
to discuss the full breakdown ofthe fourth episode of The Last

(49:00):
of Us titled please. Hold on to my hand truthfully.
I did want to bring up this article that I don't think we're
going to have time to look into so I'm saying it now so that I
can drop a pin in it. When you visit the blog to check
out my thoughts. Michelle.
Goldberg of the New York Times wrote an opinion article on the
Last of Us advocating. Specifically regarding episode,
3, long long time, the last of us is actually conservative,

(49:22):
basically. He calling Bill, a conservative,
and Bridget you. And I run the reaction video.
We're like, yeah, definitely a Libertarian because the Gadsden
flag, the don't tread on me, essentially.
Yeah, and guess who sent me thisarticle?
My mother-in-law, your mom, my mom, my mom akka.
That's right. Isn't she great?
So cute. So I read the article and look,

(49:43):
it's written. Well and it does praised The
Last of Us however Michelle Goldberg who was actually on a
debate stage alongside Michael Eric Dyson.
Debating against Jordan Pedersonand Stephen Fry.
They were debating basically, isit possible that the left can go
too far essentially and identitypolitics politics and all that
stuff? And they were trying to argue
that left, doesn't go too far and it's actually the right.

(50:05):
That's the problem etcetera. So what the gist of the article
is in my opinion, a fundamental misunderstanding of what
conservatism is and who the right are essentially, the
reason why I brought this up because I wasn't going to is
because I actually read another article today from Barry Weiss
from From her new, I guess journalistic effort called The

(50:25):
Free Press. And she actually wrote an
interesting article about something that we often talked
about on the show. And that is why it is so much
that we yearn to be a part of The Last of Us the communities
in the last of us. And that's basically the
survival being the hierarchy, the highest of the hierarchy of
needs and maintaining our familial and the community
connections as a necessity, right, Bridget.

(50:47):
This is something you brought you brought up a lot recently
and I had recently had to updatea via clip and it was
Wonderfully written particularlyon the note of going back to
Jakarta or Indonesia and Malaysia and all those kinds of
countries where you have such drastic income inequality.
And even in those communities where there's a drastic divide
between the rich and the poor, there's this cross community

(51:09):
taking care of one another essentially and tying it into
this article and The Last of Us and how it doesn't have to be
the way that it is in some areasof this country and in many
other different countries, we don't have to lose the world to
lose community. Really, we have to just figure
it out in this newfound landscape and I really like it.
I can link to the New York Timesarticle but it's behind a pay
wall. But I will be making the full

(51:30):
article of Michelle Goldberg's article in the New York Times
available in our Kofi and patreon for those who support
us. If you buy some coffee, I'll
take a screenshot of the articleso you can read it yourself.
It's not terribly long at all but I will also link as
alongside its Barry Weiss's article to.
I just think it's great that people that don't normally
comment on stuff like The Walking Dead or the last of us

(51:51):
or that used to Remember The Walking Dead was.
The biggest thing at the time, it was kind of cool to see that
zombie horror seepage into popular culture because
obviously The Last of Us is doing gangbusters all over the
place and so I will link to those articles in the blog so
you can check them out later. So check to see if there was a
viewer. I think with this, yes, I did

(52:11):
not. There was this time even even
higher than last week. And so now that you said it I'll
link to whatever article that isin the blog too because it is,
it's getting bigger and bigger. It's going crazy with Pedro,
Pascal hosting SNL last Saturdaynight to which was funny as
hell. A lot of viral viral shit coming
out of magic. But I did watch the clip of the
Mario Kart Mario. Yeah, yes.

(52:33):
Yeah, it was, it was good. That's really funny.
It was so funny. My friend, Josh sent it to me.
I think, I think during what ourreaction, I think it was, I
judge to watch it before a reaction video, but I didn't
think we'd have enough time to talk about it, essentially.
I watched it with Evelyn to this.
It was really, really kind of funny.
And if the apocalypse dramas have taught me, anything is that
we have to really, really try hard to try to understand one

(52:53):
another in order to work together as is evidenced by this
episode which is what we're talking about.
Let me read some of the commentsbefore we go to First
Impressions and that is Thomas. Is this live or recorded?
No, I'm just talking a lot, Thomas, Sun's Up guns out.
Thomas says, let's talk about the Stay Puft.
Marshmallow Man, shaking up the floor and then that room.
When is it going to appear? Probably the next episode?

(53:15):
And it's probably what we said in the reaction video is, is a
bloater and share. And he says, live from New York,
Carol is chicken. It's squawking night.
More laughter anyway. No, no, it wasn't no.
No Livery was subpar shit. Listen to Queen.
It give the queen of puns heard a do.

(53:37):
The joke was good. It was your children.
For a plastic one. I was watching a breakdown today
and one of the things they were talking about was yes, it could
be a bloater. But it could also be how would I
suggested like a mycelial Network that has eaten the floor
out from underneath? It's all bean sprouts down there

(53:59):
now and they're like, pulsating and stuff.
I'm not the only one that thought that I see.
Okay, let's look an underground Cavern full of my seals that are
waiting to burst out essentially.
I mean, that makes sense becausethe bloaters So much to do with
spores and they're not doing that so maybe the bloater would
be different. I think, you know what, unlike
the praise that I gave them for episode 3 In keeping old

(54:21):
building Frank Under Wraps, I think they kind of gave up the
ghost in either the teaser leading up to the 5th episode,
which is, by the way, will say it again, the fifth episode is
available early on Friday night on HBO Max not HBO HBO will Eric
publicly on Sunday night. They're copying the AMC.
E+ Playbook and making it available early on HBO Max.

(54:43):
This is clear things up by the way because of the Super Bowl.
So, Thomas is what if it's Madison?
I'll give you something to fear.I mean, she would be the biggest
monster on there, right? I would be way more upset if I
saw hers that a bloater. She's the reason I prices have
skyrocketed. That's what we're somebody say

(55:06):
that. No, I just made that adjusted
because I was looking for that. I was looking for Tom as it's
no, thank you, play me? I take that as I take that as a
compliment. I think so too.
Yeah, Thomas Lovell. Which thank you very.
Very good president. All right.
I ruined it. I'm sorry.
I ruined it anyway. You really did that twice.

(55:29):
That's two jokes Dave. Come on my watch is entering.
Blame it on your hearing Joel before the show.
I told the ladies that just likeJoel in this Sewed, my right ear
is acting funny. I can't hear Too Well, out of
this year, this year's the good ear but even that one is acting
funky. I'm hearing like bass sounds a
lot stronger and something that's freaking me out right

(55:50):
now. But yeah, here we are.
I had something applicable to the show though.
So I'm gonna cut it in here. Joel mentions, that he has a
hard time hearing out of his right ear or Ellie notices it.
Rather, I read that that's a play on something that is a
feature in the video game. There's a button that you hit on
the video game and it leans, Forces Joe like focus.

(56:13):
And you can see the Silhouettes of everything that's in the
background, like all the enemiesthat are in the background.
So is this, like hyper Hearing in video game?
Is that in the second one part to Orleans that?
Well, no, it isn't. That, okay, that's, that's,
especially funny because the only way they clickers can see,
or Bladers who used to hear you.So it's maybe it's kind of a
play with Joel losing his hearing and hearing being

(56:35):
necessary for the echo location of the monsters, right?
Which, by the way, I've I heard that in the game.
It's not. Like they can hear like long
distances, their hearing is sensitive but shorts it has a
small radius essentially pie visas and tries to just try to
play bass in the kitchen. I hear it.
I hear it. Do we have a button that can
push for Dave to be to hyper-focus?
You know, usually a much more inthe town top of thing, I think

(56:56):
hearing throwing me off. Anyway, let's start with Rachel
because, you know, I want to know what you think is, cute.
I don't know if everyone knows this about me, but I love stupid
dad jokes. So Much.
I laughed way too hard at every single one of those joke, I
think I started crying but she told the scaregrounds it was so

(57:24):
funny and I could not concentrate on anything else.
Those jokes were just running through my head the whole time.
Like diarrhea. It was great.
Yes. Yeah, it's hereditary.
You know. Yeah, I've heard I heard from
this year. Books.
On the note of puns on second watch, I notice that.

(57:47):
The author's name is, Will Livingston, that's a pun to, or
at least the sort of anagram of some kind.
It's the will to living ton or livings ton because they're not
living right there, sort of dead, it's the will to live
will. Anyway, I just thought it was
kind of cool. I like, hey, you know, Hey,
Nobody's reacting to that. Okay, let's move on.

(58:07):
Then after Ellie told the first joke about the LG bra, I said, I
need this. But right now I want this to be
a real and it is a real book. No way is it.
I didn't even bother to look at it.
You can find it for real. It is a room.
Let's plug it in the blog Price's dad, jokes are the best
jokes and Thomas is what if Rachel is Ellie?

(58:29):
I thought it was really cool. The shootout scene felt very
much like a video game, right? Like the guys in the background
sounded straight out of a video game.
I was like, that's cool. I don't know if they did.
I'm sure they did a purpose but I thought that was pretty cool.
I did enjoy how this episode Literally move the story forward
by means of travel. We see them.
Cover a lot of ground. A lot that I'm grounded.
Yeah, I wanted to make a commentabout how clean that 20 year old

(58:52):
truck was but it wasn't a garagefor how long so it might have
been that going. Probably heated garage too.
Yeah, I was gonna say but no no rust after 20 years, that's the
little, hmm. Well, he probably didn't take
it. Many places they start.
I know that they started to walkto all the locations that were
trying to go to, at the very least, we're trying to get into
a running regiment. I'm in Michigan, where half the
vehicles here are made of rust. So, Maybe it's different in

(59:14):
other states. No, no.
In the Northeast, Massachusetts.New Hampshire and all that.
Yeah. No salt trucks, winter?
Yeah, but there won't be any salt trucks.
That's true but the salt does mix with, like the concrete.
Sorry at the salt, the snow and the rain mixed with the concrete
that there is a fact there, I think, but I guess it doesn't

(59:35):
really matter right? As evidenced by the fact that
bill deconstructed the battery to keep it long term storage in
the fridge to probably didn't get much.
Juice out of it. Anyway, it was tarped over to
right, just, there you go. Yeah, there you go.
That's true. I mean, you don't tarp over a
truck in a garage expecting to use it frequently.
So they're not, right? Not like in Brooklyn where we
type over even our ship boxes outside though.

(59:56):
Not indoors. Brian says I loved how they were
showing how it was showing Mother Earth taking over
civilization. Stead of neatly mowed grass at a
present, you know, cynic Radio podcast actually mentioned that
as well in comparison to The Walking Dead.
I just listened to their episodetoday.
I think it was a Syndicate spelled CI + ik So if you want
to look them up there episodes like about 45 minutes, no, they
did a good analytical breakdown, that's one instead I let you

(01:00:19):
know I like plugging in people'sshit.
You're there already here Bridgit.
We might as well give him more more meat, you know?
No no. They just stopped.
Now they just stop this episode.Don't leave now.
Leave later papa says who mows all the lines during the
apocalypse. Brian sighs.
We had a truck cover and in a garage bill is very intelligent

(01:00:39):
and Benny he took care of it. Yeah.
Yeah that makes sense too. Because his give me some Meet
Dave. Vadai say no and I mean maybe
later like I said later Thomas says 45 minutes is less than
three hours. Yeah, suck my dick, to be fair
the pocket at the end of the day, I'm happy when the podcast

(01:01:02):
and upcoming below two hours. It's lately the last year or so
we've been pretty lucky I think and even with these doubleheader
episodes, the reaction and the full breakdown the title.
Comes from the Hank Williams song.
Yeah. Right Ilona.
Forsaken is the second. He says, Dear God, please hold
to my hand in the lyrics of the song and the last song that
plays at the end is a version oftrue Faith.

(01:01:25):
By New Order, Bill calls a new order jackboots thugs.
Also another cute little thing was when they're driving and you
see the loves last sign. And then the RV's below it, that
was a little call back to Dublin, Frank.
Also, because this isn't an Arby's and it's star B Star B.
Was a restaurant. They didn't give free lunches
and they were in love for anybody.

(01:01:46):
Who is interested, the cover of that true Faith song was sung by
lahti kestner kestner. So K EST en, ER, that's
something for you and I'll be embedding in the blog.
The songs are pretty telling to.So like if you go back to the
Hank Williams song, the song is basically about Glory fading
nature. Love fading to because he talks
about how he's a love when they're first in love.
It's like the springtime and theflowers are blooming, and

(01:02:08):
everything is gold. But then she leaves and
everything turns dark and gray, right?
They say so, Interestingly enough in the video game, it is
a Hank Williams song. Also it's not the same song.
It's All never get out of this world alive, which is what I
said during our first stream because I didn't know that it
was a different song. Wow, that's interesting.
So what does that say, right? One of the lines is alone and

(01:02:30):
forsaken by fate and by man. Oh Lord, if you hear me, please
hold on to my hand, like you said charity.
Oh, please understand. It's not only about love, it's
about God. I think the in God and nature
forsaking him as well essentially just like the idea
of True Faith. Which even that song is about,
it's sort of like about abandoning Faith or breaking
trust. Both breaking trust and having
trust your trust broken and likewhat are the consequences

(01:02:53):
essentially? There is some themes that are
playing with each other and thisone too.
In this episode, Brian says Joe mentioned, how when they were
out in the woods, that it was too remote for zombies.
I thought that was odd at first.I thought this was pretty odd,
but then it kind of, makes sense.
Right, based on how these infected act, they want to
gather in places where more people are hypothetically
speaking, right? There's no people to infect.
So there's a It's going to be out there.

(01:03:13):
They want to be with their like,The Little Mermaid.
They want to be where the peopleare just.
So for people who are just tuning in, who don't know what
we do, we're primarily a podcastthat breaks down The Walking
Dead universe. So it seems that sometimes we
have those Notions smuggled in but it's interesting to see how
the purpose of these infected are to propagate and the purpose
of the Dead is more of like ID. We need to just consume we just

(01:03:35):
keep consuming. There's no end to the consuming.
We don't get full we keep eating.
That's like the biggest difference between the infected
in the and the walkers in the ewoking dead.
There was a joke there because we talked about what if a walker
wanted to have sex and then I won't remind you of what I said.
Yeah we had in the beginning of one of our episodes.
We opened up with a question that was asked on Facebook about
what if a walker want it could have sex and then I explained

(01:03:57):
how that would be terrifying andwhy there's a clip there
somewhere I think it's in the beginning.
One of the fear, all sets I havelisten I listen to it I remember
that conversation very it was more one-sided because of the
horror. But yeah so it's interesting to
see that these infected their sole purpose is Just propagate
the fuck out of everything. Essentially, the even the biting
is not at not about eating as much as spreading.

(01:04:19):
So just just very interesting for our crowns.
Zombies are hungry. No, they want to spread.
Yeah, I'm sure they eat. But yeah, it's just like the
cordyceps in life. What did I do?
Think they eat? I mean, if it's a fungus, do
they like, just like absorb the, there are host.
Yes. The fungus each service?
Yeah, essentially. And then he died like, like I'm
say Frank, we learned all about it, that it was about the fungus

(01:04:40):
that takes over the ants. So, what it does is it, guys,
Guides the ants to bite onto leaves where they can suck the
sap out of the leaves. And that's what the fungus
thrives on, and then the ants die and then the fungicide or
accept the, the AF die in the fungus goes to the Leafs and
then it transfers to other theirtalk about how smart, water,
some other and yeah, right. The new smart.

(01:05:01):
Yeah. Created.
This, what will that ones? That one was about?
That was a different one about slime mold.
It was really interesting and a little scary to be honest.
It really was. These things are smarter than
Some people I've met so JapaneseRPGs casting the slime molds as
the weakest anyways I was I had something there and I learned
all Walking Dead Eternal. He says Walker's having sex

(01:05:24):
while that conversation sounds perfectly, it was horrifying.
It was horrifying. My answer was even more.
Horrifying, go find it though because it was funny too.
Yeah, it's at the beginning of one of the episodes.
If I think of it, I'll bring it up because of the Fear, The
Walking Dead season 7. Episode to episode, I think we
had a conversation about what itwould be like for babies Walker
babies. He's and that was also equally

(01:05:44):
horrifying. Let's read some comments Pi V
says, when I was a kid, I saw that X-Files episode where the
ancient fungus controls people'sbrains, I'm still traumatized
guys. Know how I feel about X-Files
Thomas says, I had a fungus once, but a little penicillin
took care of it. I read you loud and clear before
I could spread it. Nice viruses.
Why wouldn't walkers have a libido though?

(01:06:06):
Eating is a primal Instinct justlike the SEC.
Just sucks that drive. And that was part of my answer.
Let's keep going. That's a variant in the
frightening. This picture.
Here's the thing, though. What's worse to be bitten or to
be humped? I'm just saying humped.
Please please take just eat me. But you're both clothes.

(01:06:30):
I mean, you can tell me why not for long anyway.
Let's keep waiting here. Banging, Let's Race to the door.
Okay? Okay.
If you guys do, you guys have anything?
That stuck out to you in this episode as well, besides
Walker's PP. There's no way in hell.

(01:06:50):
I would have driven over a 20-year old bridge that hasn't
been maintained in 20 years preach.
Yes. Yeah, and the way around, but
speak to go build a fairy or something.
Fair, yes, across there, right? Like in The Walking Dead World
Beyond any way you build a raft.Yeah.
Well that's funny how I bring that one up again, plenty of
nail polish left the a few of the acetone or whatever that is.

(01:07:13):
Probably better than the gas after 20 years.
Yeah, I think that would separate to make their the
situation as it got wheat over time.
So that's why they had to keep stopping to get gas.
I don't think it gets weak. I think it would just not work
anymore and separate. Yeah, that's that's the problem.
Oh, look. Lois is like this time guys?
Yellow is lemon after giving it,by the way, for context, we're

(01:07:38):
not beating up on Lois. She was beating up on us last
episode because we were late like a minute late.
Two minutes late. So we're having fun people,
okay? But actually dovetailing off of
what you just said about. This is Ellie's first impression
of the world, something that wassaid after the episode was
something had Craig Mazin it said and it was violence is
ugly, but easy. I mean I'm distilling it

(01:08:00):
basically Ellie is learning about the world.
Like you said like she just seeing these things for the
first time Ellie is experiencingfor the first time what it is to
kill somebody and how easy it isto commit murder.
Rather he says she already killed somebody.
It's not her experience in killing somebody for the first.
Mmm, there's a difference between killing somebody and
murdering somebody essentially. And I have a feeling because
weeks, or I sorta know what she's referring to and this was

(01:08:23):
more of like, you could have notkilled this person in this
instance. And yet you're figuring out that
you have to, like, we're figuring out that we had that
they have to. We know that we know that, but
she doesn't know that. So I just find it funny that she
is learning this stuff without any sort of moral framework to
kind of anchor her. And like the questions that we
would Would normally have on this show that we, that, you

(01:08:45):
know, because we grew up in relative safety, we didn't grow
up with all this violence surrounded by us, but she
doesn't have that, this is her, she's 14 years old, she's known
the world up to a certain point within the confines of the qz.
And so I just find it interesting that she's learning
from Joel had a live essentiallyand said, the federal taught her
how to hold a gun apparently, not well enough.
What? But not to murder and shoot

(01:09:06):
like, well, no, my point is if fedra taught her, how to hold a
gun, I'm sure. They also taught her to shoot to
kill. I'm not sure.
I mean, it just doesn't seem like Don't seem like the good
guys but you also can't teach somebody or instilling somebody,
what it's like to murder somebody.
I don't think they're right because really unwise of a
government agency, to teach its citizens, how to use guns.
If your goal is like oppression of the general public that

(01:09:29):
dreams really stupid. Yeah, but they would do that and
time immemorial. If somebody wants to take power,
you any tyrannical government. Usually takes away the guns.
First Brian. So back to work, is fun to thank
you for checking in Brian. Thank you.
Okay. So Lois says she looked like she
know Oh, what she was doing withthe gun in that room?
I don't know about you guys, when I was watching that at
first, I was kind of panicking because like the way she was

(01:09:50):
kind of fiddling with it but I still felt the same way on
second watch that she didn't know what she was doing.
Not that she didn't know what she was doing.
That is just like good. She's like, holding it.
Like that's like almost pointingat her face.
She was she was pulling out. Travis Bickle.
What what what is that from fromTaxi?
Okay. Oh gotcha.
Got you only practicing in the mirror talking to me?

(01:10:11):
You talking to me of talking to me.
I know you ain't they nobody else around here?
Yes. Did you come in here?
It says as it's a firearm owner,I had so much anxiety for the
opening scene when she was holding the gun.
Poor handling poor Trigger, Discipline pointed at ourselves.
That's exactly what I'm talking about walking to Eternal says,

(01:10:31):
it was funny how Joe, last Ellie, who taught you, how to
hold a gun. And Ellie said, feathers and
Joel said figures, that was funny.
Yeah, I agree. How could you not read my hoard
pun? I just did, didn't I?
Okay. So I wanted a dovetail little
bit more on what is learned because throughout this episode,
there's a very interesting thingthat comes up that kind of
crosses over between different people in this.

(01:10:52):
In this episode, Joel says, Tommy was a joiner.
He talks about him being in Desert Storm and even that
turned out to be not what he thought it was going to be
right. I saved his ass then he joins up
at the fireflies but now he hears that he's left them as
well. I have this weird feeling that
Tommy's going to go chain-smoking to some other
thing and that thing is going tobe a cult, some sort of cult but

(01:11:13):
Does bring us more like a quitter than a joiner.
Wait she's a Thomas or Tommy. Tommy Tommy.
Okay yeah I guess so. But like there's a span of time
in between then and then but he still keeps joining.
Joel never said that he was a consistent.
ER he's just a joiner but there is also like the idea of purpose
and I don't think Tommy's necessarily wrong.

(01:11:33):
When Ellie says, what's the point?
What is the thing that gets you out of bed?
And yes he says family but is that enough?
That's more my it's my question to you guys.
Because that is obviously a TWD Watchers wet dream.
When you hear that answer. Oh, he said family like TWD
family. Oh, yelling like to be together
and we survive and we do the things to survive.

(01:11:54):
And we stayed a Ghillie, is it enough?
Because by my estimation, Joel his sole purpose in life for the
last 20 years plus. Because before the apocalypse he
had to take care of Tommy Tommy, basically almost practically
lives in their house pre-apocalypse.
You know, he's basically taking care of him.
Obviously Sarah his daughter posted.
Eclipse, his soul thing in life, was basically to take care of

(01:12:15):
Tommy. It makes it seem like that.
At least when he describes it, he join test, his crew just to
keep watch over Tommy when he was with the fireflies and he
kept, he saved his ass. Essentially, this is something
said I said in the first episode, I feel like his whole
raison d'etre is this out-of-the-box familial
obligation to protect family, like his whole thing, and it's
proving true. In this episode, his whole
purpose of getting out of bed inthe morning is to take care of

(01:12:37):
someone is to protect someone. But what if he take that away
and then you have Kathleen because even after After
toppling fedra, you think that was a win game over, we're good.
Let's focus on building this community.
No, it seems like Kathleen is hell-bent on getting Justice for
her brother by finding both. Was it Henry and Sam Burrell if
I'm not mistaken. Yes.

(01:12:58):
So you have Perry This military man that's doing everything in
his power to follow her but likeat the same time don't you think
it's a bit weird? Because even I said in last
episode, it seems like she's sacrificing a doctor.
She sacrificing the safety of her people just to find these
kids. You think that winning the war
was enough? So what happens when you take
away someone's purpose, they can't feel the satisfaction.

(01:13:19):
They need another purpose. So that what's that's what makes
me worried a little bit for Joel.
What if Joel of protects Ellie, takes her to the thing?
What if Tommy dies? What is Joel do?
Now, that's what makes me wonder.
And that future could look like Kathleen where you have to find
something new to go after and that thing might be crazy and
maybe she is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.
So the question is, is family enough and is their value and

(01:13:40):
purpose, depends on the family. Hey, Okay there and Jake's as
far as purpose goes and that depends on the individual
person. Family may not be your purpose,
but maybe you can find another purpose.
Maybe Joel gets Ellie, safe, where he needs.
She needs to go and he can find another young person that needs
help getting somewhere. You know what I'm saying?

(01:14:01):
Like you can always find anotherpurpose if you want to but you
have to want to but it has to not be like an obsession right?
I guess if there's nothing backing up that purpose then it
overtakes you, right? And then you just have to find
another place. Other thing too obsessive
because it lets that's what it looks like for Kathleen when her
brother died, she didn't have anybody to share that success
with. So she just continued on this
thing. This Warpath sounds like I guess

(01:14:22):
I can make it a little maintenance for cats.
I think that's more like slumming graveyard.
It is Obsession. She's so bent on Revenge that
she's letting the things that really matter to save people
slide like the pulsing molten rock monster underneath the
building that she's like, oh, just lock it up and we'll just
shut the building off, you know.So the building itself All

(01:14:43):
right, it's underground. So I think called in Lord of the
Rings, the balrog, sorry the balrog, that's what it kind of
like, thank you. That's the next music You shall
not pass. You shall not pass.
That's my terrible terrible. Joel impression, that's better.
Morgan. I need to see it.

(01:15:13):
I need to see him with this staff standing there because now
I'm picturing. Okay, I have to read this
comment because it is worth. While Thomas says when to walk
us have sex is that baby? A called a crawler.

(01:15:37):
But it's Louis is or another family so that's kind of what
I'm saying is family enough to be a purpose though.
Or does it keeping your family alive?
Yes. Yes.
It's because you're printing hasenough to be a purpose.
But then what happens when it isn't that?
What most people do now like nowthat's our purpose.
Ideally, but we like what happens on that again?

(01:15:59):
Strands on the family. I'm alive.
Wait, you keep myself alive. Yeah, but what happens when That
passes you by what happens to you after that?
What do you mean? Because he doesn't need me
anymore. That won't happen.
My point about Joel, is that washis that is in continues to be
is pre-apocalypse and continues to be his sole purpose.
He just keeps finding chain-smoking family to be the

(01:16:20):
protector of but he does not have any Ambitions of his own.
Like, I like eating shitting andmaking money.
But we will what is what ambition is there to have in the
apocalypse. I want to be a dentist later.
Like, what it, what is it? What do you mean fission is
there Enslave live and helping other people, stay alive, that's
a good point. It kind of makes that's also I

(01:16:41):
will say that's also the appeal for us.
Oh but he's saying about all theextra garbage in life and all I
had to worry about was keeping myself alive and keeping my
family life. Suddenly my days are full and I
don't have time to be worried about anything else.
Nobody cares. What shoes you're wearing in the
apocalypse? Yeah, yeah, exactly.

(01:17:01):
And so that's the appeal of rat.Race is a literal rat race.
Wait, it's not is not a metaphoranymore.
It's a little exciting racing these rats to get to this to the
food. They were yeah.
Before they do the whole reason why I even brought that up is to
kind of compare Kathleen to Joeland Tommy because I can see that

(01:17:21):
it's the parallel of a sibling and assembling lost and exactly
do with yourself. After that but Joel still has
hope Kathleen. Does not Kathleen has lost her
hope well and it's essentially isn't Kathleen, no different
than in As Carol going after everybody, that killed Henry
essentially. Right?
Yeah, we saw that worked out at the expense of the people who

(01:17:41):
are sooo survived right. Not to bring that Chestnut up
again. But like, so they go, they go
through the trouble to bring down fedra because I want a
better life but they're not having a better life because
she's so bent on Revenge but they're all going to die anyway.
Right. And not taking care of their
food supply, Supply showing up the defenses and obviously
they're so desperate that they have to concoct these schemes

(01:18:03):
and I'm sure that's common Ivor I Oh no, maybe it isn't, you can
comment on that all you want butlike they have these schemes
around the city to stop strangers and get more supplies
from other people that may be, just like them that escaped
other key disease, right? Exactly.
It was a, he knew he recognized it right away.
So dog-eat-dog world. You, when you play the game of

(01:18:26):
thrones, you win or you die, andthey're all gonna die.
If I don't tell you shoot to kill in the apocalypse.
Well, yeah, but it does kind of bring up the idea that isn't it
interesting how like they had toI'm the monster to defeat the
monster and now they have to be the oppressive force on others
in order to survive which we don't know.
We don't know enough about this group yet.
I mean their oppressive on strangers because there's no

(01:18:46):
Unity anymore. It's us or them Humanity doesn't
matter anymore. Yes that is 100% true on a
practical utilitarian level but we as an audience live in
relatively peaceful times. So it's a very interesting
confrontation of what we've got going now versus what we're
looking through. A pane of glass into another
world where, well, this is the The cost of having survival be

(01:19:07):
the the first Axiom or the, the highest on the hierarchy of
needs. Well, you have to lose a little
of your Humanity. Keep your yourself alive, let's
say. And so it's very confronting and
there's a part of your brain. Oh, I would obviously be the
wreck at first obviously at first, not later, but I would
obviously be the Rick, but maybenot.
I think they're doing a good jobmuch in the way.
The Walking Dead does of having us confront our Humanity, in a

(01:19:29):
peaceful time, with the black, or the necessary, shrugging of
humanity in. Did you survive?
And then we have to ask ourselves these moral questions
of what would I do? And Rachel would shoot to kill
first no questions asked. I just I don't know I'm saying,
I don't know what I would do andthat's very well.
I've gone on you. I'd be dead.
I would kill people for really be dead.

(01:19:50):
I love I've talked about the here as fuck and yeah, there's
no doubt in my mind that wasn't a situation where the guy was
like I may have fallen for the oh I need help but like Ellie
shoots the guy who was clearly attacking jolt.
Like there's no question you would you I would have shot, you
would have shot him to David. You would have killed that man.
If he were attacking the person that you were with that was
saving you protecting you. You would have killed that

(01:20:12):
person. Ya know after watching the
second time, ya know it. But that's, that's kind of my
point. It's like I'm not there.
So I don't have that high blood pressure, steak sort of
situation. So I'm upon watching it again.
I actually wrote down what the kid says, before he gets shot.
Brian. Vry am not be our.
I am Brian Costello. If you watch this further, he

(01:20:33):
says you're going to pay This iswhat we're gonna bust through
the door. You're going to pay you just
killed yourself motherfucker like what?
Okay, and then afterwards, it's like a child.
He is a chart. That's I think what?
Got me the most. It's okay, it's over startling
part about it is like you see him from afar?
He doesn't look young. He looks like he would be like a
regular mid 20s 30s. Person breaks all blurred out

(01:20:54):
and everything him. You see him up close as the
intention of The Narrative of the trying to hit you.
With is like here. Look at this.
He looks like an NPC. Hey, babies babies be having
babies. He's gonna be kids fighting you
trying to kill you. Yeah.
And like, let me just read you what he actually says.
It's like, it's okay. It's over, we're not fighting

(01:21:15):
anymore. It's what it's, what traffic's
you're paralyzed. It's what should I do?
It's what children say when they're getting in trouble.
Right. I just bullied a kid in like,
no, we're not fighting anymore. This mommy and he says, my mom
isn't far. If he can get me to her.
We could trade with you guys. We could be friends.
Yeah. It's uh, Is so startling and it

(01:21:36):
does remind me of what Sharon and I were talking about when it
comes to revolutionaries, specifically the biggest
indicator of how they can go wrong, is the French
Revolutionary War where? Yes of course, it was
oppressive. People who are going hungry, let
them eat cake and then French Revolution happens and it gets
dark and ever and just like Kathleen.
Everybody's getting Inquisition to the guillotine, collaborators

(01:21:58):
are put to death and people wereput to the guillotine up to the
early 1900's. I want to say remember the last
one was, right? From the twenties I think it
frightening lie into the 20th century which is how how
ingrained that violent stain of culture managed to permeate
France up until that point up until like almost the first

(01:22:18):
world war. That's crazy pants.
So they're kind of illustrating it really well here in Kathleen
and what she does and how everybody's going along with it.
Just like everybody had to go along with it in federal.
Let's say when they were under Federal control, they went from
one oppressor to another oppressor and of course nobody's
going to Got back to the revolutionaries because those
fuckers beat the other fuckers. So, nobody's gonna speak up.

(01:22:40):
You know what, they're not as bad as the other guys until they
realize it that they're going hungry and maybe some of their
people are getting killed among those people are salmon Henry.
And what I said in the last episode, after really looking at
the episode killing the doctor, not telling their own people
about whatever it is underneath the concrete.
It's like going after these kidsat the expense of everybody

(01:23:00):
else. And I was thinking to myself,
she can't be that crazy. Yeah, she can be that.
Daisy, doctors don't do too wellin this book, mock elliptic
World. Apparently, even again don't be,
don't be a doctor in the apocalypse and it does, does it
kind of go back to what you're talking about about family
because this doctor happened to deliver Kathleen and yet she
turned on that family. For the sake of her own Revenge,

(01:23:22):
I don't know if I'm ready to call Kathleen crazy.
I don't know enough about her actions to me.
Don't say crazy yet. I feel like I did to me.
She has her reasons and we don'tknow what they are yet.
That's what I said in the reaction video and then I guess
they're painting me into a corner where I go with my
original gut instinct like, oh she has, he might have her
reasons. These kids might be even crazier
than her, and obviously, one of them is responsible for her
brother's death. Do we know their kids?

(01:23:43):
Why do we think their kids? What they saw me like, see them
right at the end. All then, at the end of the
episode them, why don't we? Yeah, that's Henry and because
of the, the drawings on the wallwhere they were hiding out,
that's literally them because one of them, a Superman.
Yeah, Henry is, isn't the greasepaint?
Yeah. From the photo, he had the, he

(01:24:04):
has, he had, Like a little mask or sampey Sam.
Sam. Sam is the William Henry is the
bigger one. Yeah.
And Henry is basic. I'm ready?
Yeah, he's like a teen. Yeah, he's a teenager.
Yeah, I love the way she kept going on about Henry and we got
to find Henry. It felt almost like he wasn't
real. Like it was somebody, she made a
break for them to go. I was gonna be like already dead

(01:24:25):
or some, right? She's like in Henry did this and
in redid that and Henry's responsible for this and I was
like, is this even somebody realor is this just some shit she's
made up because what God of You see who it is, but I'm like what
she's after these kids like it there after baby, that she's
kind of nuts. Was the like Henry probably
radioed in to these people. I'm like she's really see right.

(01:24:46):
That was the way she kept bringing up Henry Henry probably
really like you have no idea andyou're just telling these people
this that and the whole I'm willing to ignore this giant pit
of pulsating, whatever. I'm willing to just turn around
and be like, I'll deal with thatlater.
And not tell her people go aftertwo.
Children to be right? Who could really go anywhere in

(01:25:09):
this city could literally be anywhere, but they're going to
send their meager resources of people to go look for these two
kids. Yeah, and not only it's
generally be anywhere. Think that the thing that really
got me into thinking that, like I said, I was on, where Rachel
was at? I was totally, like, maybe she
has her reasons, but then when she said this is, this was the

(01:25:29):
thing. Out of all the things out of all
the effing things, she says get more guards.
Rides around our Provisions. Like these two are so
threatening on top of like, let's not tell our people about
this. Pulsating, Fung Fung, meat,
monster fungus monster. I don't know.
These kids are so dangerous thatthey need more guards on their
food because they ran out of food in their old Hideout.

(01:25:51):
They're obviously going after our food, maybe they are.
I mean, I wonder if these kids do see and I'm gonna contradict
what I just said, because of youRachel, let me throw more
evidence in your direction and that is one of the drawings in
the room is Of one of them as a superhero obviously is hovering
over. A, what appears to be either?
Ephedra Soldier or a revolutionary?

(01:26:12):
So, because it's an, it's a figure in riot gear essentially.
So could be ephedra Soldier. So, they were part of the
Revolutionary War. Let's just call it.
They were that skilled enough tobe a part of it, or they were
that Savvy. Enough to have a clear role in
it or it's them fighting. The people Kathleen and her
people, I don't know. I mean this whole like Henry's
the one who killed my brother. Do we even know that that's

(01:26:34):
actually True. He read her brother out to
federally, that's the thing likethat's what she thinks when we
die because she's also asking the doctor.
She's also blaming the doctor solike we don't know. 100% if it's
actually Henry or if he just is like this bitch is crazy.
I got to get away from her and he goes or it's more like so her
brother died and maybe Henry wasthe one who and hauled ass so
she automatically pinned it on him and Sam, right?

(01:26:57):
Right. And it's like I said, she could
be focusing more or less on Justice than on keeping her
people fed safe short. It up all those things.
That's the thing on purpose, when it turns into an obsession
isn't gonna matter, if they're all dead from the pulsating bean
sprout among under the floor, among so many things with that
can go wrong. So let's call it the sarlacc

(01:27:18):
again. Hey, I'm going with follows bean
sprout. Monster mouth.
Horlicks I like it. I did want to mention that
Lieutenant Perry. Who is the very handsome
right-hand man? Max, that's Jeffrey price.
That's who plays him from every price voiced, Tommy in the

(01:27:40):
games. Yes.
And the inside the episode, the chemicals in is I don't want to
ruin anything, but I know for a fact that is not the first nor
the last time that someone who voiced somebody in the video
game will be on the show. Kirsten Luther was one, was it
Mario? Yeah, we mentioned that Kirsten
just posted a clip of her meeting the actor.

(01:28:01):
Ian Alexander, the actor who plays live on HBO's, Out of us.
So she just had an interview with him now lab, it doesn't
appear in the video games until the second part.
But apparently level show up in the series as far as the how
this is going to go. It's interesting, but we will,
I'll post that interviewers in the blog think I'm going to be
done with the games. I think it's some point, it

(01:28:23):
might not even matter, right? Unless you play the whole thing
all the way through and then youcan backtrack and write notes
and whatever. Yeah, but it's I really want to
get through the game for the sake of this, but I Look, it's
going to matter a ton. Yeah, but maybe, maybe päivi
says you're practically asking for jokes about pulsating, beat
monsters. I am actually.
Thomas is a pulsating monster inmy pants.

(01:28:44):
Meat, monster bean sprout monster.
It's a bean sprout. Fungal meat monster substitute.
Right? It's me.
It's The Impossible game anyway.Louis has maybe she'll kill her
brother and Henry's Henry seen it.
Yeah. Maybe her brother went against
her. Oh, that's that's that's
interesting Theory actually hmm.Yeah and she's just using Seeing

(01:29:05):
Henry, and Sam as an excuse, as a way to hide it.
Yeah, well, which makes it even more hairy Perry.
That is probably says Louis is, who knows?
Who knows. But maybe there's more to the
story. Yeah.
And that's that what I said? The reaction.
It's like, I'm trying to hold judgment, but everything she
does. Makes it seem that she's just
more bent than worry, about the whole reason.
Why should they overthrew Federer in the first place?

(01:29:26):
Which is freedom to keep people safe in the manner in which they
want to be safe, okay? Thomas is Troy Baker is supposed
to be in it. Yeah, that's Troy Baker.
Yeah, but we will know. That's going to happen later on.
Louis says, he knows something in needs to shut him up.
Whoo, me. I like that even better.
She thinks Henry are Sam knows something and she needs to get
them before, they find somebody in the revolutionaries that they

(01:29:50):
will tell that it to essentially.
So it's not about getting him for ratting out her brother.
It may be something that Henry and Sam know about that.
She doesn't want getting out essentially that I like that.
I like what Joel says in the beginning, when he mentions that
they had plows so that they can get the Tanks through this, the
highways and stuff like that. And she goes, you'll, he goes,
you'll be seeing a lot of those included, like tanks,

(01:30:10):
helicopters, Etc. But he says something very
innocuous and he says, but they'll Fight The Wrong Enemy.
Just scattered around. Now, what do you think he means
by that? It was really almond as it was
like, really weird just almost said it in a throwaway manner
because it makes you think it was in reference to.
They ended up fighting people, right?
Which they did. We saw that in the Masquerade,

(01:30:31):
itch, seen in the mass, grave inthe previous episode on.
That you're fighting against nature.
Oh, please couldn't win. Okay, okay, couldn't win.
It was impossible. They tried and obviously they
were brutally beaten down. Yeah.
You can't fight a hurricane, right?
But you being like or you can't same thing.
You can't fight a virus with tanks and helicopters
essentially also but you're right, but it could also refer

(01:30:54):
to people. I kind of thought it was a
reference to boat, That's The Wrong Enemy shouldn't be
fighting, people should have been banded together to fight
against this, but on top of that, you're fighting nature and
you can't fight nature. So right?
But you also you also have to consider where they're headed
towards to and it's not Federer. It's the fireflies so that kind
of makes me wonder from which perspective he's talking.
So if it's the fireflies they'reall scattered.

(01:31:15):
Refers to what like their whole thing is about the Cure rights.
He's kind of like saying, it doesn't matter just like to
contrast saying Tommy's a joiner.
There's no point Humanities not going to win and it's just
interesting to see like everybody seems to have their
purpose or making up a purpose. Like Kathleen is making up a
purpose to keep her going and it's weird to see that Joel Like
firmly placed in the center but he too is not immune from this.

(01:31:38):
He keeps talking to Tommy as if he's a joiner.
But he himself is always had somebody to protect.
So I just think it's he's like he's a hypocrite.
Essentially He's a hypocrite. He acts like he's not affiliated
with anybody even led to a pointand then all of a sudden he's
being infected by her wanting toprotect her, his obsession his
whole reason for being ever. So I just it's it's really cool

(01:32:00):
to see narratively walking to Turtle says at least Kathleen
isn't Jade is crazy. I her Jadis.
Anyway, lows as she is scared and scared.
People do irrational things, uh-uh.
All right. Would you classify her as being
scared, though? Unless it's going on, Louis his
theory that she's scared of, what they had, what information
they have to use against her. I like that.
And maybe the brothers the excuse or is just something she

(01:32:22):
made up just to get at them bestshe's blinded by Vengeance and
that makes more sense to me by the way, I had best.
So yeah, I think it might be a good thing that I can't
comprehend that crazy and maybe again, Live in comfort in front
of a glass pane. And so, it's hard to put
ourselves in her shoes and thankGod.
I'm gonna be so sad. When that beautiful white hair
gets soaked in blood Perry's here, fairies it sanitary, and

(01:32:50):
he's a sexy beast. I hope he makes it sure do.
What did you call him? When we were watching the
episode, I was like, who is this?
Delicious tall drink of water orsomething?
She's like, oh, it's the prettiest flapper girl in the
20s. Know she goes.
This tall drink of water. Water.
No, I called him. We do long Invaders like that

(01:33:10):
baby. It took several showers clean.
Cleaned up non-crazy beta blow-dried beard concrete
non-crazy beta. That's what it was.
Those lousy told you baby. I also told you when you said
you were worried about him dying.
Yes, it will. So now we know the dead type
just for reference. Yeah.

(01:33:32):
I like a good. Yeah.
That was from the Which episode was up from the tales of Walking
Dead. Episode, was that from?
That's from a lot of. Yeah, this is the dead type ever
since it came up, they just repeating theme.
Thank God. We did hasn't gone away Veda.
Hey, nacho, unavailable, dead type.

(01:33:52):
Right. So it started with nacho.
That's yeah, that's yeah, sorry.I just kept going to, it's
great. Yeah.
Glenn beta natural this dude. Yeah.
He's dead meat in a die. Yeah, I just signed your death
warrant, countable Burt. He's he's gonna be he's gonna be

(01:34:15):
dragged into the pulsating. Sarlacc sarlacc pit.
That's what I'm, that's what I'mthinking.
Kathleen told him to leave it alone and he's not going to be
able to. He's going to get like dragged
Under The Impossible fungus or real Boba Fett.
Maybe there you go, Rachel's wetactually no because if you lives
she won't be intimidating more. So No survive, no survivors.

(01:34:38):
Nobody survives the. Wow, what a tragic love.
Like, he's so hot. He's just so alive.
I used to live for me. Let's see the other in the next
episode, in the first decide forthe next up, it's like the
second date. Maybe he'll die in the second
day part 2. That's how, you know, he's meant

(01:35:01):
for you. If we see this dude, make out
with a bean sprout monster. Do you think I don't know might
be like that on the line Razor'sEdge of Attraction?
She's a monster weird. Oh to be those bean sprouts.

(01:35:28):
Oh gross. I know this is this is as
somebody with last week's episode but I just want to say
how weird it is to watch parks Wreck after watching that it's
not at all. So weird.
No, I was gonna say on the note of Whispers a that thing at the
end, the how the the episode ends with Sam doing the thing

(01:35:49):
like Allah may Allah Alpha really like in the promos for
The Walking Dead that wasn't a mask.
He was paying on his face, it was the Ouroboros like she's got
on her belt, fair enough, my notfridge.
It's his dirt circles around hiseyes.
For okay. Yeah.
Just the way dirt circles is notin circles, not what people

(01:36:12):
really dirt call the guy make upearly start circles dirt, so
they just put dirt in tentacles around dirt circles.
Duh, you know, Bridget Bridget. Yeah.
You have a way with words, okay? It's other, let's just circle

(01:36:33):
sounds like Sound like some confused.
Aliens came down when you said Dark Circles, by first thought
was like they miss the crops just one for the different.
The dirt circles aliens. I go to the desert instead of
yeah Beach. Yeah.
I mean my first thought was you went like Browntown like well,
it's like an anus, the dirt circles.

(01:36:54):
Oh, there's anuses everywhere. We go to a, but David, you dirt
circles personal problem. It's not gonna say anything to
do with me. I'm gonna die.
Dog is trying to clean his butt on the carpet.
You know that's the dirt he's creating dirt Circle anyway.
No no no be brought around it in.
You went there that wouldn't even be a circle because it's

(01:37:15):
dragging you need to take responsibility for what I
thought. Clearly you know I'm in the
wrong here. That's fine.
That's why Thomas is. Maybe maybe she has to find
Henry because she she he has theloop.
She likes to use for the zombie sex.
Walking. Dead Eternal says Nico.
It did make out with a zombie Walker.

(01:37:36):
I mean Alpha. Yeah, I hear ya, bro.
Emojis David. You're disgusting Thomas.
I'm disgusting disgusting. I'm disgusting.
Well, you're in good company. I suppose shall we?
Yes, I know where this is going.Do you know why the Scarecrow
won an award? Because of his dad?

(01:38:02):
Dark circles. Why is that?
Can't make it without everybody disappointing ending.
Now, getting, thank you very much for joining us on this live
stream. Discussing, the last of us is
fourth episode. Yeah, this the dirt circling
ending with the sarlacc circle with the impossible.

(01:38:23):
Me take Circle. It's impossible for circles in
