(00:17):
We are in mid July. Justexperienced the worst heat wave in Ohio that
I think you've had in like twentysomething years. I think it's what the
news said always start off these podcasts. I talked about the weather, but
it's especially pertinent today because it isa freaking sauna out there, absolute sauna.

(00:41):
Just went golfing in it yesterday.Luckily had a little bit of rain
there, but you know, niceto cool you down a little. But
that makes sense because it is themiddle of summer. So that's why it's
super hot outside. And that's enoughof out the weather. What's up,
guys, Stick to the gimmick Episodeone hundred thirteen. Your boy Spend Davies,

(01:08):
your other boy Martin, David Harpbringing you the best in wrestling today,
w W, n XT, AW, Dynamite, whatever pay per views
they got going on, Everything goingon along in the world around in the
world of wrestling. Hello, what'sup? How are you doing? You're

(01:30):
asking me because this is fucking souncomfortable to sit like this right now.
Yes, so a little predicament herefor Marty. You know, when your
chords get a little flimsy and youhave to put them in certain positions for
them to actually work, because there'susually some frayed wires in there. Maybe

(01:52):
sometimes you got like a little shortcircuit. I don't know how you would
describe it with those little chords, but like a perfect example was when you
have a phone charger and I remember, specifically for my NV two, I
had to wrap it three times andbend it like forty five degrees for it
to charge because the chord was sobad at the time. Marty's having one

(02:15):
of those issues with his microphone becausethe USB cables getting all bent out of
shape. Luckily they are cheap andeasily replaceable, but still nonetheless a nuisance.
Yep, big paint in the ass, Giant pain in my ass in
the ass ASTTG. We are apart the BTR podcast network between the Ropes

(02:39):
of Brian Fritz. We're also onTwitter at gimmipowwere on Facebook at Facebook dot
com slashtick to the Gimmick. I'mon Twitter at Spinney Rasslin. He is
on Twitter at Martin David Harp.So we did get the chance to watch
NXT together, first time since whateverthat pay per view was named in your
House. Yeah, first time it'sin your house. That me and Marty

(03:00):
got together and watched NXT, sohe caught up with the second night of
the Great American Bash. We alsodid tune into fighter Fest for night two
as well, so we'll be goinginto all that good stuff. So we'll
start here. Obviously, the bignews of the weeknd wrestling, and not

(03:21):
just not just in NXT, butlike literally in the whole company is Keith
Lee wins the NXT title from AdamCole, who had a four hundred plus
day rain come to an end.And Keith Lee's the first person to ever
hold the North American Championship and NXTChampionship in the same ring, so Keith

(03:51):
obviously earned it. Hell of amatch, hell of a main event with
Adam. We were kind of goingback and forth a couple of false finishes
there, you know. We wehad originally predicted that Carrying Cross would get
involved and there would be a nonfinish, but they decided to go with

(04:12):
the route of making Keith the guyand having Carrying Cross watching from the rafters
as he was celebrating, which setup a beautiful picture. It was a
really nice shot. But thoughts onthe match, thoughts on what goes on
next, for Adam Cole. Whathappens with carrying cross in this whole ordeal?

(04:36):
Where are we going? I don'tknow, man, So I definitely
was under the impression that it wasgoing to get a non finish, at
least for now. I knew ifthere was a finish though, it was
going to go to Keith, andobviously that is what happened. My only

(05:00):
takeaway from it, like, themost important thing that I get coming out
of this is Please, for thelove of God and all that is fucking
holy, do not take Adam Coleout of NXT. Like that is the
only thing that I see after thisis Please, God, don't take him

(05:21):
away from NXT. We took alittle bit of a route that did please
Marty, And maybe we'll get intothat a little later when we talk a
little bit about raw because there wasone scenario where he's like, if they
have to do it, this wouldbe it, right, So we'll get

(05:42):
into that a little bit later. But sticking on to NXT here, now
that Keith's the top guy carry it'sprobably the first in his way you would
have to assume, right. Imean, he's definitely not holding both belts
for a long time. Like,he'll be double champion for a minute,
a month, maybe two, andthen he's dropping that North American championship first,

(06:04):
right, the question is to who, And I think a really good,
you know side of it, withthe mid card talents that need to
get that kind of upper restaurant onpush. I could see someone like Cameron
Grimes being that guy, you know. I could see someone like I could

(06:26):
see Finn being that guy, eventhough it's a little bit below him.
I could see Damian Priest being thatguy. I don't want to see Dominic
Djakovic in another feud with Keith Lee, so let's leave that one to the
side. But he would make senseto be another to be a North American
champion. But they've they've got alot of options for the North American strap.

(06:50):
I mean, Anex's in a reallyweird place right now because you've got
Carrie and Cross coming in and he'sbeing booked as a fucking monster. So
it's like and they they're interjecting himin the in this title picture where obviously
after Keith won, he was ina skybox which apparently Full Sale has skyboxes.

(07:12):
Who knew um and overlooking Keith Soit's like, obviously you assume that
that's that's the next step, isCarrion's going towards Keith. But then you
have Adam Cole who had the beltfor what was it four hundred days or

(07:34):
or something, and it's hard tobelieve that he's going to lose and disappear
and not get a rematch or anything, you know what I mean. Like
it's hard to imagine that he's justhe lost and he's gone. Right.
They used to do that in NXT, but like not really anymore. Like

(07:56):
when when someone loses the belt andthey're moving up, they at least get
like one more rematch sort of programbefore they go up. Yeah, and
then they lose and then they moveup again. I don't want to see
Adam Cole move up, not evenI'm not even saying move up. I
don't want to see Adam Cole movedown at all, um because NXT is

(08:18):
where he can wrestle how he wrestles. I think it's the best place for
him right now. With Sean mightlike with Sean Michael's being the person who
is producers of some of these matches, I feel like it just fits.
It's a perfect fit. And yeah, there's still a lot of feuds where

(08:39):
you know, we didn't see it. We never saw Finn versus Adam Cole
in a feud um. We neversaw the blow up of the Undisputed era.
And if you're going to try andmove them up to the main roster
and then have them break up onthe main roster, you know, it's
not even gonna be a breakup. They're just one week. They're just not
going to be together anymore. AndI feel like literally just the breakup of

(09:03):
Undisputed Era could be a six monthfeud in itself, Like that could be
a six month story. Yeah, you have so many different outlets to do
it too, Like you could havesomeone in their turn face that you wouldn't
expect, you could have someone youknow backstabb somebody else like, and there's
obviously four options like yeah, Imean you could go any route, so

(09:28):
many options with that. I wantto see that explored. And again,
it's just weird to think that theywould just kind of move Adam Cole.
And the other thing is if theymove Adam Cold, then they're moving undisputed.
You're not going to move Adam Coleand you're not and leave undisputed in
NXT, like that's not happening. They lose their luster without their leader exactly.
So you think if they're moving AdamCole, that also means they're moving

(09:50):
Fish and Kyle, O'Reilly and Roddy, And it's like, are all three
of them ready for that move?Right? Especially when Creative comes out gives
you, you know, an awesomefirst three or four weeks, maybe you
know, a couple of months tops, and then you get lost in the

(10:11):
shuffle. Yeah. The other thing, too, is is we don't need
another fucking stable on the main onRaw SmackDown. Yeah, you're right,
don't fucking need it right now, there's like five and it's the last thing
we need to just clutter that awfulCreative Like it's just unnecessary. So hopefully

(10:31):
they stay there. And then theother side of this coin is Champa,
who's been missing since he faced cross. I don't know if it's a personal
decision because he doesn't want to bein the performance center because he has a
daughter with the Corona that they're horriblyfucking keeping in check, or if it's
a creative decision, whether they're likeChampa, we're just gonna move you to

(10:54):
the side for a second until wecan get a spot for you, or
we figure out what we want todo, make people for it about you,
and then just come out of nowherewhen you come back. And again,
i'd hate to see him move up. I would see I don't see
him going up before Cole. Ithink Cole would go before he does.
But he again was my other choicefor to take that North American strap off

(11:20):
of um Keith Lee. Okay, you know, maybe that's maybe they move
him onto that. Who knows.I genuinely don't know what's next for Champa.
I'd hate to see him move up. I'd like to see him continue
doing something. And obviously I thinkit would be you know, with Carrion

(11:43):
more than likely being in the titlepicture. I think it would fit well
to be in that North American Championshippicture. But there it's just like a
weird like middle ground area for nXT right now, because there's a lot
of shuffling going on, a lotof like old dogs who are dropping belts

(12:07):
to new dogs, and are theold dogs going are they staying? It
could be that like are we ina transition period? Are we at the
crest of going into a new eraof NXT and we're like going downhill into
it now, like I really don'tknow where we are. It's really weird,

(12:31):
like even the women's picture, Likeyou've got Eo versus Tegan and it's
Tigan's first championship opportunity. There's Ria'snot even in talks to being in the
women's title picture. And then youhave like no other previous challengers who are
still even being talked about the tagtitle pictures. It's is a weird place

(12:56):
too. You've got Imperium who havethe belts, and then the whole title
picture for that's weird because it's allbrand new tag teams other than Undisputed,
but Undisputed is doing its own thing. Velveteen's dead because of everything that happened
with him in the allegations online. He has literally not been mentioned at all

(13:16):
on TV, So yeah, it'sjust weird. And then you've got people
like Dexter Loomis who are getting moreface time. So it's like that like
new era where it's like we're makingthese new stars, We're trying to give
them more space, but shit,we still have these old stars that are

(13:39):
grounded and they are established and peopleknow who they are, and we need
to find the middle ground between them. It's like an experimental period the way
I like to call it, Likeit's just different and it's really really hard
to see where it's going next becauselike if Champ, if Champa stays,

(14:00):
you like you've got like it's likea branching thing. If Champa stage,
you're going one way. If Champaleaves, you're going the other. If
Adam stays, you're going one way. If Adam leaves, you're going the
other. Like, very different outcomescould come from either decision. M Like
there could be lifers in there, though you never know, Like Johnny seems
like he's going to be a lifer. Yeah, And that's why that's why

(14:20):
I'm saying I think Champa, That'swhy I said Cole i'd see would go
move up before Champa, because Ithink Champa would be like he's next to
Johnny where he's like, I justwant to be an NXT M, which
I mean you can make the occasionalappearance for somebody when they're up, like
Survivor Series or like you could.I mean, we had our first NXT
match at WrestleMania this past year,so I'm sure that that's gonna make its

(14:43):
way up at some point because it'sits own independent brand. Like I wish
they would act like it though,Honestly, like I wish they'd act like
it's its own independent brand and stopmaking it a quote unquote developmental. I
understand it is still kind of developmental, but it's also not because they're not
really bringing up developmental talent in NXTanymore like they were back when it was

(15:05):
pre taped. Right now, you'regetting people off of the indies who are
just getting used to WWE's style beingput into NXT. Correct. It is
no longer developmental, it's no longerlike it turned it to its own thing.
Yeah, like it's it's but Imean, I wish they treat it
that way and it not be like, Oh, Matt Riddle's going to smack

(15:28):
down watch Matt riddles debut. No, he's an NXT superstar on the NXT
brand. Leave him there. Andif you're gonna do shit like that,
like I understand Charlotte came to NXT, bring other people over, Bring people
over that will fucking kill it.Let me get an Adam cole versus Kevin
Owens feud, like do shit likethat. Like, you know, there's

(15:50):
people who would be happier in NXT, like just move them if you're going
to be moving superstars and shit, treat it like a third brand. Move
people from the red or blue brandto the gold brand. It's not hard,
right, And they've done that withlike Finn Balor and you know,
Brizongo and you know they've come backto there, but that's they started.

(16:12):
They coach from NX you like amotherfucker, and they they've put Finn and
Brisongo you can count, but youalso can't because they have like a six
month absence, granted because it wasbecause Fandego got injured, but you know,
right right, Finn's really the onlypowerhouse that they've put in while they've
been poaching powerhouses the whole time.Look at Bianca, who was one of

(16:34):
the bigger powerhouses of the women's divisionand she's literally fucking missing in the women's
division on the main roster. Thewoman who ran the women's division for two
years has not been on TV forthree months. Yeah, both her and
Bianca. That that isn't that's prettywild. You know, the Viking Warriors

(16:56):
or Raiders whatever, the fuck theyare them. We're killing it in NXT
gone Ricochet Powerhouse in an NXT gone. M So treat it like it's its
own god named division already. Yeah, so its own thing. That's what
it should be. But yeah, regardless, it's a weird place. I

(17:18):
don't want to see anybody get movedunless it's, you know, bringing some
people to NXC. I understand thatwe've got a surplus of talent and NXE
the surplus of talent in WWE initself, so it's a little hard to
me. It definitely feels like there'sa shift. I mean, i'd like
to see a superstar shakeup. Iknow, I think we just saw one
not that long ago, but I'dlike to see one that actually included NXT,

(17:42):
which they was I think it wasduring was it right after Survivor series
where they did the last superstar shakeup? Yeah, when they were like considering
NXT a third brand and they didthe shakeup and NXT was nowhere to be
seen, but they poached superstars fromhim. M So I'd like to see
a third one where they actually includepeople getting moved to n XT. All

(18:03):
right, there's a nice ran aboutNXT I think that's the most that Marty's
ever talked on this podcast. I'mvery proud, very proud he had he
had thoughts on his mind and putit through it. It's it's hard.
It's hard to put your finger onthe pulse of NXT right now because it
seems like it's changing, changing, for sure. Yeah. So rest of

(18:26):
the matches that we had, bythe way, Keith and Adam was a
classic, phenomenal match. Keith hittingthe second rope moon Salt, which is
more difficult than the one at thevery top turn buckle, nasty move.
Favorite spot of that one was probablywhen he did the choke slam slash spinebuster,
got him up all the way inthe air and slammed him. Yeah,

(18:47):
that was a great move. Adamhad a good UH Panama Sunrise,
but that was not the best UH. That was not the best UH Canadian
Destroyer we saw this weekend. We'llget to that momentarily, but very good
match. A couple you know ofthose you know, false finishes, but

(19:11):
it really wasn't to the point whereit was, you know, unrealistic.
That was a good part. Andplease stop calling Keith Lee's finish out of
the big bang catastrophe. Please. That's that's all I got there. Um,
rest of the matches will just godown the card since we spent a
good time, you know, talkingabout the state of NXT. We had

(19:32):
the street fight between Candice Larrey andb Am, which was okay, you
know, I was, I wasall right with it. Good spot in
the back where um me a dropkick Candice through the through a table like
she fell backwards. Um, prettybrutal. I did like the finish.
The finish was really nice. Yeaswinging the swinging neck breaker onto the chairs

(19:56):
was really nice. The rest ofthe match little slow, but again where
we've been over this a million timesif you've listened to this podcast about Mia
Yim's pace and how I can't getinto it. But Candice gets the win
there. And then you had JohnnyGargano against Swerve. Scott thought this was
going to be the match of thenight. Didn't really hit all cylinders for

(20:18):
me. It was good. Itwas good. I think maybe a little
too it was. I think itwas based a little too much on the
elusiveness of both of them. Howthey could you know, not counter but
like stay away from each other's likehot hottest moves like. There was a

(20:41):
lot of flipping and you know, avoiding contact, but it still was a
good match. You know, Johnnyhad a slingshot spears. Swerve hit his
sick look and finisher where he flipsthe dude off of the the top rope,
not them and buckle, but justthe top rope of the ring and

(21:02):
does a flip. It's a reallysick, sick move, but he hit
that on him. Um, I'msure they'll, they'll, they'll link up
again. But Johnny ended up gettingthe win. I forget how Swerve got
stunned, but he got stunned, and then Johnny took advantage with the final

(21:23):
beat, which is his ul outside. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's it. That's it. Thereyou go. So he hits that,
then he hits the the final beatand then gets the one two three,
So Johnny and Candice both get thevictory there. Then Johnny says that
he's got unfinished business with fim Balor, so it looks like that's the next

(21:45):
thing for them. We had thetrio's match, which was Legato del Fantasma
against Drake, Maverick and Brizongo.Pretty solid match. I liked this one
because it was fast paced right offthe jump. Um and and they are
quick, quick as a hiccup, man, quick as a hiccup. I
really like this faction that Santos Escobaris building, um a lot of I

(22:12):
was telling Marty when he was comingout. Dude just exudes charisma. He's
got a really good future. He'sgonna get elevated. And it was a
good finish too, because it justmakes um Escar looks strong again over yes,
yep, and Drake's lost twice tohim now like that. Yep.
And Drake got put through a tablewith that move, like three weeks ago,

(22:33):
four weeks ago, however long itwas. Um side note, Marty,
tell the audience what you think aboutJoaquin Wild when he comes out.
Oh, I said that he lookedlike the dude at the gym that tries
to sell sell you steroids. AndI feel bad because because I'm really in
with this stable, I really amJoaquin. He did he belonged in the

(22:56):
Jersey Shore. One of the two. It would come out with the top
or no, the front facing ballapp Yeah, yep, that's yeah,
that's what did it. That's whatdid it. Um shots, He ran
over Robert Stone in the back withher tank. Uh comments on that oh
my god, really bad segment.Marty looked over me and goes, are

(23:19):
you kidding me? Oh? Iwas laughing so hard though, because Stone
was selling it so good. Ilove this guy, I do, and
I know he can be entertaining becauseI watched him in TNA when he was
Robbie. Um, but he wasselling us so good. He's like,
I robe my leg, I brokemy leg and shots he literally said eat

(23:40):
my tank again, which oh shots. Had a random match Tony Nice versus
Bronson Reid because apparently at the prerecording of the pre recording, um,
what was it, Tony Nie wastaking on Leon Rouff and then like he

(24:00):
was toying with Leon ruff he couldeasily beat him, and Bronson retook exception
to it. So Bronson Reid endedup standing up for the the guy and
ended up taking on Tony Nice redbeats Nice with that flying splash oscilla.
That dude is a big cat,a big cat. But I do like

(24:25):
him. I think that he's ableto get to that mid card status.
If you just keep him on TVas is, you'd be again just giant
powerhouse. So he's like bigger thanKeith Lee, doesn't exactly move like Keith
Lee, but a powerful, powerfulman in the ring. And then again

(24:48):
with Tony Nice, I need toget that guy a manager because he's too
good. He's too good in thering to not be on TV. But
his personality is like watching paint dry. So get the man a manager.
I'm on that train. We alsohad a little little promo there for Eo

(25:10):
Sharai and Tiguan Knox. They didkind of like the prime target thing,
but it wasn't the prime target thing. Quick note here Marty asked me this
too. Why is Eo shari underwaterwhen they're doing this stuff? Yeah,
it doesn't make sense to me.But also at the same time, I
think it is pretty badass, andthey distort her voice and then you know

(25:32):
she's talking in Japanese and you know, like it's intimidating. It's almost like
a horror movie. So there theymight go be going that route with Eo,
just like in presenting her as achampion, which is again completely fine
with me. And then you gotTigan. I what I did like hearing
from Tiguan here and saying stop callingme the comeback story. You know,

(25:55):
I don't need your pity like I'vebeen back for on television for along.
That really kind of makes me think, Okay, yeah, she she's over,
you know, talking about the injuries, and I would be too,
because everyone that's the only thing anyonetalks about when it comes to Tiguan Knox
is how she's persevered and all thatstuff. She wants to win the title,

(26:18):
uh, and not have it beabout some comeback story. She just
wants to do it to be thebetter woman, which I respect that.
So I'm really looking forward to thatmatch next week. That should be a
good one. Um and Marty willbe watching, watching for the Pikachu face.
But but that's okay because because Tigancould go in the ring and we
all know that EO can too.Wrong Pipe, oh god, oh make

(26:45):
it over there, I'm keeping I'mkeeping this in here. Oh wrong Pipe
take over Live on the podcast YouHere Here, first episode one thirteen.
Spencer is Dead take Over Martin rippingpiece. Okay. We also had some

(27:07):
matches for announced for next week.Damien Priest taking on Cameron Grimes. That's
what I thought was going to happenthe second night of the Great American Bash,
but it did not m oh shoot, sorry I glossed over. Mercedes
Martinez made her return, and thefunniest part about this was me and Marty

(27:29):
were guessing who was gonna do thejob against Mercedes and her return, and
I said, Santana Garrett. Hegoes the buff redhead. She comes out,
and we both looked at each otherlike, oh, I didn't know
her name, so I just knewher by buff redhead. So I inadvertently
had said the same person that Spencerwas saying. And she came out.

(27:51):
We're like, oh shit, andlike we both assumed that we were right,
but we were both right. Wejust said the different different ways.
Yeah, so that was a funnymoment. But Mercedes looked fine, Um,
you know nothing, you know colossal. I was surprised that they're billing
her as a heel. She comesout and like a mask looking thing,

(28:11):
almost looking like, you know, like Jimmy Havoc kind of mask. Um,
but she came out she was gettingthe boost from the crowd, so
I was like, Okay, Iknow they're gonna be booking her as a
heel. Um, So what whatwas your opinion on on on her return?
I know we haven't seen her onTV in a while. Uh yeah,
yeah, you know your basic returnFor me, nothing nothing stand out

(28:34):
for it. But it wasn't bad, right, So that's where I'm at
too. That's where I'm at too. Uh hold on, I gotta see
what our matches are for next week. Oh lord? Um, like I
said, we do have Damian Priestand um Cameron Grimes. We also have

(28:59):
Teagan Knox and Eosharai for the XTAWomen's Championship, and those are the only
two matches they have announced. Soa lot of room, a lot of
room to do stuff and and becreative about it. Looking forward to that.
So, guys, I will saythis, I got Marty to watch

(29:22):
some AW. It's true. It'strue. I got him to watch some
AW and he did enjoy a coupleof matches we will mention. The one
that stood out the most was theeight man tag match between It was FTR
and the Young Bucks together taking onthe Luca Bros. And Butcher and Blade.

(29:48):
There was one spot in the matchthat was the most insane thing I've
seen in an eight man tag matchbefore. And like I was saying,
Adam Cole did not have the bestCanadian industry royer of the week. It
was easily Ray Phoenix jumping off ofthe back of his partner and I forget

(30:14):
who he was doing it too,but he did a Canadian Destroyer off of
his partner's back onto the outside andthe way that they came in so hot,
the way it made it look wasjust unreal. And I kept looking
at Marty through this match, probablyfour or five times, and I looked
at it him and I said, how do you have the balance to do

(30:34):
half the ship that Ray Phoenix does? Like, Ray Phoenix is probably like
top three for me and just wrestling, just he is so fun to watch.
He's so fluid, like it's Imean, Pentagon Junior is good,
don't get me wrong, but there'sjust something about Ray Phoenix and his ability

(30:56):
and his fluidity in the ring thatI don't think anybody can top. And
he needs to be a singles Butthe thing is, you don't want to
break up that tag team because theyare so good together. Yeah, That's
what I've always said is in regardsto AW, I think the Luca Bros.
Are the best thing that they have. Like I I've enjoyed like every

(31:17):
single match I've ever seen them infor the most part, you know,
minus the nonsensical mayhem bullshit that happens. You can explain that too if you
want to, Oh yeah, becauseI mean so, the first match was
a tag title match with Hayman Pageand Kenny Omega Versus was a private party,

(31:38):
yep. And that match was good. It felt like a normal tag
match. They I guess they instituteda ten count that doesn't really go into
effect that often, but it helped. Like that match felt like a tag
match. I knew who it waslegal the whole time, so like that
helps. And then obviously you goto the Young Bucks Bro's match and it's

(32:00):
just fucking nonsense. There was peoplerunning everywhere a lot of the time,
like just randomly, someone would comeinto the ring and start attacking somebody.
Someone would just randomly start attacking thepeople on the apron. A lot of
a lot of mayhem in the match, and it's one of my biggest gripes,
always has been one of my biggestgripes about Young Bucks matches and the

(32:22):
aw tag matches in general. Butit was nice to see that first match
be like an actual tag match thatwasn't just nonsense crazy the whole time.
Like granted, it got out ofhand a couple of times, like any
tag match will, but it wasn'tlike, oh, the whole last third
of the match was no tags, who's legal, no count outs, no

(32:42):
counting kind of stuff, right,And that's what Marty always blames the Young
Bucks on that he's not a fanof Matt and Knicks matches that kind of
spiral. They spiral because you know, it's every the action is so fast
and furious, so I guess it'skind of, you know, a preference
thing. I have no, Ihave no issue with things breaking down,

(33:02):
Like I'm I'm watching this because Iwant to see all the all of the
crazy moves that these teams have. And I think it was a nice little
touch how the Revival or Sorry FTRended up doing moves with their counterparts like
with the Young Bucks like Scott orSorry, Dax Harwood and you know,

(33:25):
Matt Jackson teamed up for a doubleteam move and then you had Cash Wheeler
and uh, you know Nick Jacksontag, you know, tag for a
move like that. Stuff was coolto me, especially because the FTR Young
Bucks rivalry over the years, talkingabout how you know, each of them
wanted to face each other, butlike just seeing them in the ring together

(33:46):
for the first time was really cool, really weird. Um. And then
on the other end again you havethe Lucher Bros. Who were just fantastic.
And then I look at Marty andI said, I feel bad for
the Blade because Butcher is just agod awful wrestler. In my eyes,
I just don't think he can move. I think he's terrible at selling.

(34:07):
I think I hate putting people down, I really do. I don't like
because because I know how hard itmust be to be a professional wrestler.
But and he's got a great lookand their tag team has a good look,
but he's just not good. He'snot good. I don't think so.

(34:29):
And I was actually laughing because therewas somebody there was like a prominent
wrestling name on Twitter that talked aboutthis match. Maybe it maybe it was
Matt Hardy, but he mentioned threeof those teams that he didn't mention Butcher
and played when like talking about howawesome the match was. So I was
like, Okay, that kind oftells the story. That tells the story

(34:51):
a little bit, But I dolike the way that they planted the the
seeds for that FTR Young Bucks feudbecause they're a friendly misfire. And then
it turned into the Luca Bros.Hitting that nasty freaking uh package was a
package pile driver looking thing, uhfor the one two three uh. And

(35:13):
it was good to see Pentagon anduh Raef Phoenix back. So that was
the highlight of the AW. LikeMarty mentioned, the Omega Page versus Private
Party match was outstanding. Um anduh, he he didn't stay. He
was done after he didn't want tosee Seu in dark order. You know.
We saw then, Yeah, wesaw the Nila Rose uh, you

(35:37):
know handicap match, and I wasI keep telling him, like, God,
I love I love this wrestler.I I am not usually a fan
of powerhouses, you know, likethe people that can't you know, move
too much and all that stuff. But like again, and I know it's
probably unfair to keep putting you know, comparisons and stuff to like Nia Jax,

(36:00):
but that was the first thing wethought of when AW came out.
They're like, oh, this isgonna be their Niah Jacks, their powerhouse,
their timidation, you know, andshe just comes out there and kills
it. She's so good, Nalais so good. And she mentioned that
she's going to get a manager andnot she didn't reveal it, so we
don't know that yet. Um.But the you know, the handicap against

(36:22):
the two the two jobbers, thatwas actually enjoyed that segment. You mentioned
to me that the Orange Cassidy andChris Jericho match was good before you left,
so I did go ahead and watchthat, and that was an outstanding
main event that was really good.Orange Cassidy. I don't think a lot

(36:45):
of people realize I didn't. Iknow that he is a gimmick walking.
I understand that. But twice nowtwice first against pack At Revolution, secondly
against Chris Jericho, which by theway, boosted the hell out of his
stock to be facing somebody the youknow, with the accolades and the you

(37:09):
know, the high on the totempole of the wrestling history and someone like
Chris Jericho for for Orange Cassidy togo and it was a legit twenty minute
match, twenty minute main event, and you know, Jericho, he busted
his ass off. He was hewas working faster than normal. He wasn't

(37:30):
he wasn't mailing it. In hewanted to make Orange Cassidy look good and
and he freaking did. Orange Cassidyput on a show in that match.
I recommend it if you have notseen now. Orange Cassidy did not go
over Chris. Jericho did hit ajuice effect, and it was awesome because

(37:51):
Orange Cassidy has a Superman punch. He was setting up for the Superman punch
and Jericho hit the judice effect whilehe was in mid air, which made
it look more devastating, which wasa really good finish. But just throughout
the match, there was just somereally good moments and that was a very
well put together main event, perfectfor television. So I would recommend that

(38:16):
you guys watched that match. Idon't know if Marty caught up with it
or not. I know he sawit about things on Reddit, but I
did not end up watching it,but I did see some stuff about it
on Reddit. It was it was, It was good, and I know
you don't like Jericho matches, butI'm telling you this one was a really
solid one. And it wasn't yourtypical go through the motions Jericho being older,

(38:38):
you know, like, it wasn'tone of those deals. And then
of course, next week on aw we have the AW World Championship on
the line, Brian Cage challenging JohnMoxley at Fight for the Falling, So
that is a another pay per viewtype of feel that they're going for.

(39:05):
We also have an outstanding match comingthere that I didn't think that we'd see
h in a while, but theybooked it already, Luca Bros. Versus
FTR. That's the other big oneon that card, So I am very
very happy about those two. Sothat was the recap of the two wednesdays.

(39:30):
I did want to dive in alittle bit to raw because I thought
that the opening segment was outstanding. We had Heath's later return looking jacked as
all hell. I hate that hedid the job to Drew McIntyre, but
they're making it seem like they wantedto give him a farewell, you know,

(39:54):
you know, a farewell, afair farewell if you if you say
that, he seems like. Sohe keeps on saying like June eighteenth or
something, and Zach Ryder's also beentalking about sorry, July eighteenth. Zach
Ryder's also been talking about July eighteenth, like over and over again. So

(40:16):
something's going down that day, youknow. Obviously that's probably when the non
compete clause ends for them and thatstuff. So be on the lookout for
all that talent that got Let gobet you, they're just gonna be popping
up around, you know, allover the place, you know. So
that would be really good to seethose those people getting back into work.

(40:40):
So that's really nice. Don't reallyhave much else to say about raw if
you wanted to mention it. AndI hate this because it's really been a
good few They've built it so wellsince like May. But Seth Rollins and
Raymisteria at now it's called the horrorShow at extreme roles. It's not extreme

(41:04):
rules the horror show. It's thehorror Show at extreme roles. They are
going to have an eye for aneye match. You want to explain that
one to the best of my knowledge, to win the match, you have
to take the eye of your opponentouts. So, who's ready for Seth

(41:27):
Rollins to rock and eye patch fora while? Do we have an exacto
knife? Is that the way youget an eye out of somebody? Who
the fuck knows? It's like, come on, man, they were doing
such a good job with these two. They were doing such a good job.
They got Dominic, of all dominicslooked awesome. I personally now want

(41:47):
to see Dominic get in the rings, see what happened, because I remember
what he was doing, the frogsplash to brock Lesner and all that stuff
he's been training. I know he'syoung, but still I want to see
him getting the ring at some point, right, you know, like the
the you know, the stuff withwith whom Berto being involved and Alistair is
really weird to be involved in this, but he is, um, you

(42:09):
know, buddy Murphy's been getting alot of good singles matches out of that.
It's it's been good. It like, so for them to put this
I for an eye thing, Idon't know. I don't know what it
is. I don't know how they'regonna pull it off. Are they gonna
get a freaking fake eye from PartyCity? I have no clue, no

(42:30):
clue. But we also have theUS title picture. I've been also,
you know, harping on this fora while. But MVP doing outstanding work.
Uh he is facing Paula Cruz. They introduced a new United States Championship
belt. I think I am inthe minority. I think it looks nice.
I do, uh, you knowwhat it reminds me of. It

(42:52):
reminds me of the TNA World Heavyweighttitle in like twenty eleven. That's what
it reminds me of. Um.I do think that the person who photoshopped
you know, the blue at thetop of the title makes it look nicer.
But obviously design teams you can't.Sometimes there's better designers out there than

(43:13):
the ones that are on the onthe payroll. So but that feud's been
money. MVP also trying to turnh Cedric Alexander, which I think would
be outstanding. Again, MVP staken all these underutilized guys and like giving
them, you know, hope andlike a purpose in the company, Like

(43:37):
I have never been more invested intosomeone like Bobby Lashley. And all it
takes is a manager like that. You know, if Cedric gets a singles
push out of this and he's competingfor you know whatever, you know,
mid card title, it is pleasebecause we know how good Cedric is,

(43:58):
you know, have him, havehim in a few with Rick Ricochet.
They'll get both of them on TVbecause Ricochet's been on TV the last couple
of weeks, so that would makeall the sense, you know, and
the way the way that MVP's treatingit. He's like, you know,
why doesn't Cedric Alexander have the threesixty five special that they're promoting and stuff
like that, and like the facialexpression of Cedric Alexander was great. It's

(44:22):
like, it's a good question. You can arguably say that Cedric Alexander's had
a better main roster career than Ricochetso far. Um other stuff, the
women's tag team titles. It wasat Sasha and Bailey again running the show

(44:43):
everywhere. They are going to endup defending their titles. I forget against
who though they Oscar and Kyrie SteinThat's who it was, So they're doing
that next week. Kyrie stains back. That's another person that returned to to
Raw. Had a good match, real good match with with Ala, Sasha,

(45:06):
Oscar and Bailey, really good mainevent. I mean, they women's
divisions are killing it. I've beenkilling it, and I know it sucks
that, you know, people likeBianca and China are on the outside looking
in, not even on TV.I mean you've even got Ruby Riot,
who's on the Kurt Hawkins streak rightnow, uh Live. Morgan's been off
TV for a couple of weeks becausethey're trying to probably put her and Ruby

(45:30):
back together at some point. Sothat's a little bit out of the out
of the you know, out ofthe ordinary. But overall, I think
RAW has been pretty solid. Showin Orton looked like they're on a collision
course for Extreme Roles as well,So keep an eye on that one.
And then that is your Raw update. Any applause nothing, I don't know.

(45:53):
I don't know if you're Your rantabout n xt was longer than that,
but I was trying to compete withit. I do want a circle
around though, since you talked aboutRAW and I talked about an xt um
because you said we talked about itlater with Adam Cole. Yes, the
so Drew McIntyre is facing who isit again, Dolph Dolph Zigger? Wow?

(46:17):
I keep forgetting that. That showshow much whatever. So he's facing
next Sunday, right, That's whatit is, what he's facing him at
Extreme Roles. It's next Sunday.Yes, then okay, um? And
what I said would if I ifI see Adam Cole move up one way,

(46:43):
I think I guess I'd be okaywith it is if at the end
of this match Drew McIntyre versus DolphZiggler, we get Adam Cole coming out
with undisputed era to attack Drew McIntyreagain and holding up his belt again just
like they did at an X,And that would literally be history repeating itself.

(47:07):
Yeah, that's That's really the onlyway where I'd be like kind of
okay with it. You put themright into that main event feud Withdrew Um.
But again, I'd be okay withoutit. But I think it's the
only thing that makes sense other thanjust like shoehorning them into a show,
right, I agree, and thatand that would be cool because then that

(47:31):
means, hey, they're actually payingattention to what happened in the past,
you know, like and they dothat every so often that that makes you
like, oh, wow, theyactually do have a long term view of
things. Yeah, and then youhave things where history completely is erased and
nothing happens like Alistair Black or whatis it, you know, like just

(47:55):
having like random people tagged together thathad like long ass feuds. That's something
that always gets to me. Ihate that, Okay, final thing I'm
gonna mention on the podcast before Ihanded off to Marty to talk about episode
one fourteen. The best account thatI've been following on wrestling Twitter is what

(48:17):
will Mongo do next? Steve Vicmichaelwhen he was in WCW as a part
of the Four Horsemen, might havebeen the worst talented, least talented wrestler
I've ever seen. And that includespeople like Vince McMahon, Like he when

(48:39):
he hits the ropes and he isscreaming it one, it's entertaining as hell.
Please go follow on Twitter. There'sa there's an account called That's our
Mongo hashtag Mongo mondays. Can nevermiss out on it. My buddy Chris,
my co worker, always sends methese these videos in the ridiculous.

(49:01):
He'll send me about promos, He'llsend me about botches in the ring.
He'll show it. Just show mesome of the worst work that I've ever
seen in my life. Marty constantlyasked me because I've gotten him on the
train now and he's like, howdid this guy get into the business.
But the hilarious part is that hewas for like a couple of years.

(49:23):
So do yourself a favor. Lookup Mongo Monday's go go to you know
the Mongo Twitter accounts and entertain yourselfbecause you will be laughing hysterically all the
time. And that's what everyone needsat these times, need a laugh.
So make Mongo. He'll make it. He'll make you laugh. I guarantee

(49:43):
you he'll make you laugh. Allright. We are a part of the
BTR podcast network. Brian Fritz.Go listen to his podcast, even though
it's not very recent, they didhave one around WrestleMania. So giving a
subscription, leave a comment and welike the same stuff for us because we

(50:08):
would love it. That would onlymake us more popular, and that's what
we want. We want to reachmore people. We are on Twitter at
Gimmi Pod. We're in Facebook atFacebook dot com slash stick to the gimmick
once again. I am on Twitterat Spinney Rasslin. Marty is on Twitter
at Martin David Harp. My voiceis starting to go now. Luckily I

(50:30):
didn't choke to death on this podcast, but I hope that provided a little
bit of entertainment for you. I'mgonna go get a glass of water because
again voice is getting dry. I'vebeen talking for a while now, it's
been fifty minutes. Fifty minutes isquite a bit. Sometimes we'll go like
for an hour and twenty, butwe went we went for fifty today.

(50:52):
But we'll see. We'll see howMarty drags us out. I am going
to get that glass of water, sit back, and probably take a nap.
So I will see you guys nextweek and take care. How far
from the mic do I sound rightnow? I was laying on the ground

(51:12):
while he was going through his diatribesthere. Episode one fourteen next week talking
God, it'll be pretty much justI can't even give you a preview for
it because we really don't know what'sgoing on in NXT, as I talked
about in the beginning, so itreally really depends on what happens Wednesday night

(51:34):
with NXT. Obviously, Spencer's goingto talk about AW. We might preview
Extreme Rules. Who knows. Itsounds like a dogshit show, so I
don't know, maybe, maybe not. I'll air on the side of probably
not. But episode one fourteen nextweek talking the next chapter of NXT.

(51:57):
You know, whatever happens in AW, whatever happens in just the wrestling world,
but that's it. Episode one fourteennext week. Obviously you always think
I'm gonna forget, but I'm justnever gonna forget to bring up that guest
host that does the most, JonahHill, number one fourteen for him one
hundred and fourteen times next week, killing it like always, He'll be here,

(52:22):
we'll be here. We're always herefor the most part, but he
is always here. Not for themost part, he is always here.
One fourteen next week, your boys, Jonah Hill, stick to the gimmick
talking wrestling. That's it. Goodbye,
