Welcome on in to Stick to theGimmick Episode one hundred and ten. It's
me Spin Davis with my boy MartinDavid Harp here to bring you another grand,
excellent, entertaining episode of STTG.It's a beautiful day outside. It's
been a beautiful week. Hopefully youguys have been able to enjoy the weather

(00:38):
while respectfully abiding by the rules ofsocial distancing and hopefully everybody's taking care.
So, yeah, Marty, what'sup? Nothing? Nothing, nothing,
He's got nothing. He was justtelling me how he hasn't done shit in
like a week, and I'm guessingthe last thing that he did was hang

(00:59):
out with me to watch take Over. Now that was that was two weeks
ago. That was two weeks ago. You're right, losing track of time
whatever. We had talked about watchingBacklash, but we did not. Yes,
we did not watch Backlash together. But I watched Backlash and then I
told you to watch the main eventof Backlash because it was really good.

(01:19):
And we're gonna get into Backlash afterwe give the skivvy on what happened in
NXT the over the last couple ofweeks kind of do a smorgash board because
the storylines run intertwined and some advanced, so we'll talk about that. I
didn't get a chance to watch ae W this week, so not gonna
have much on that end, andthen after Backlash the aftermath, I do

(01:44):
want to talk about Raw because I'mnot gonna lie. I thought it was
pretty good and I saw some stufffrom SmackDown too, so we'll get into
that, and then we will narrowdown our brackets to the championship. We
will pick our two final four matchupsand then conclude that thing next week.
So we are on Twitter at Gimmipo. We are on Facebook at facebook dot

(02:05):
com slash stick to the Gimmick.I am on Twitter at Spinney Rassling.
He is on Twitter at Martin DavidHarp. All right, let's dive right
into NXT. What's the first thingyou want to talk about, Marty Um.
I mean, technically we didn't talkabout last week either, right,
correct, So I'm trying to thinkI was gonna say because there were storylines
that advanced, so those ones wecan kind of again do with like a

(02:29):
schmorgsh borg Um. There were obviouslya lot of good things that happened on
the last two weeks. I thinkwrestling has actually been pretty damn good over
the last couple of weeks as awhole, and it was it was really
entertaining to me, just the qualityof the matches, and again with the

(02:49):
plexiglass there and stuff like that.I think that the you know, overall
feel of it is uh, youknow, coming back for me, and
usually summer is a bad, badtime, I'm for it, but I
think it's actually been pretty decent, especially recently. So I'm just gonna go
ahead and off the top of myhead, and the first thing that comes

(03:13):
to mind for me that was thecoolest thing on NXT was Santos Escobar and
the reveal behind the mask of Phantasmo. How there was Roo Mendoza and walking
while behind him and we were talkingabout this before, how we knew he
was probably up to something when itcame to those cars and the you know,

(03:37):
the carjackings and the and the youknow attacks from behind whatever in the
parking lot, and damn they reallykilled it with this one. I've never
been more intrigued by the Cruiserweight Championshipthan I am right now, and it's
because of how developed this character isin such little time, the way that

(03:57):
he connects with you on the promos. He's looking at you straight on and
he's very stern with his tone.I was telling you before, I think
that he's well advanced in the Englishlanguage. I mean, ANDRADI even had
a you know, a little bitof a tough time at first to cut
promos, but this dude was juststraight up on point. He's obviously got
a feud going on here with DrakeMaverick, and Maverick got a nice phantom

(04:23):
driver through a table for his troublesand that was a thing of beauty.
I really like the way that theythey molded this guy into this character so
quickly, and I think it it'sgonna connect so well as that like lead
Heal and not only just to leadHeal in the Cruiserweights, but like this

(04:44):
is something that you can elevate oncehe's done with the Cruiserweight picture, because
that's definitely gonna happen if this factionjust keeps going and keeps rising like this,
and and just not even in NXT, but the overall picture of the
main roster, the Latino talents likeAngel Garza and Andrade and Umberto Carrillo,
like there is so much talent rightnow for the Latino side of the w

(05:09):
WE, and they're killing it rightnow, and and I'm very enthralled by
the abilities of all of these competitorsand and the characters that they're developing him
into. Yeah I agree. Um, like I said, well, not
like I said in this but previously, uh fourth wall break, We've recorded

(05:32):
this aspect before, and yeah,it was it was a bitch. Technology
is a bitch sometimes, but anyway, Um, it took his character from
someone that was like kind of justlike my like just like a little happy,
go lucky, you know, yeah, to someone that was like not

(05:56):
fleshed out, but like had likemore dimension literally in a week. And
I also think that it was likedone properly, like how they had what
was it two weeks ago, wherelike Drake came out to talk to him
and then they surrounded the ring andthen he headbutted him and they kicked it

(06:16):
off that way, and then youlike you said, he cut that promo,
which also the fact that it wasthere's no one there and he cut
the promo without a mic like helpeda lot too. Oh for sure.
Um, like there's little things wherelike it works like that, and then
there's like big things where it doesn'twork, but overall it was great,
Like it definitely brings more eyes tothe Cruiserweight title and it's good to actually

(06:43):
see a program moving forward now andnot just dealing with the tournament that's been
going on for like what two monthsnow? Yeah, yeah, something came
out of it and that's that's thebest part. And again I think I'm
just like, I'm intimidated by thisdude because he's got his guys behind him
now, and this is another factionthat's developing here in NXT, and they're

(07:03):
going to go places just because thisguy, he said he's the leader of
leaders and he's going to turn theminto leaders. It's almost like he's like
the Seth Rowlins of NXT, honestly, like yeah, but in a different
way. In a different way.I think they call themselves e Legato del
Fantasma, so which also we'll seewhere that goes. Like I said before,

(07:25):
that name Phantasma did not stick. No betta redo on the name.
Yep, it was just two vomits. It was too long. But let's
jump into this. So Marty andI were kind of asking ourselves what was
next for Adam Cole after an exttakeover in your house because he got done

(07:46):
with Velveteen Dream and the parking lotbrawl and all that stuff. And obviously
Velveteen can't compete for the NXT Championshipif Adam Cole is still champion. So
what happens this past weekend and nextWell, everyone's trying to gun for the
North American Championship. Johnny Gargano gota pinfall over Keith last week because of

(08:09):
a he'll he'll tactic with Candice Larreygoing down and he got a roll up.
Then we had, you know,Finn Balor ask the camera or tell
the camera that he was coming forKeith Lee, and that kind of boiled
into Keith Lee saying that Adam Coleis the next one in his sights.

(08:33):
So there was just a meeting offour minds in the ring this week,
And when it looked like it alwaysgonna all get crazy, mister Regal came
on with a very flashy smile andbasically made a very awesome triple threat for
next week for the North American Championshipfirst, which is Keith Lee, Finn

(08:56):
Balor and Johnny Gargano, which yes, please that's that's gonna be the hell
of a match. Yes, please, And not only that it's for that
title, but the winner of thatmatch on July eighth, which I think
is just the following week or itstwo weeks after, it's two weeks after.
Yeah, on July eighth, we'lltake on Adam Cole for the NSC

(09:20):
Championship in a winner take all likeboom we have. Me and Marty literally
been talking about that for a coupleof weeks, which like that match finish,
Oh for sure. No, theNorth American Championship match is gonna end
in a finish. Yeah, theNXC title, yeah, they take all
the winner take all matches ending ina non finish. There's no way that
they're gonna throw both of somebody,No, especially when you have Carrie and

(09:43):
Crosses lurking. Yes, I meanthat's exactly why I think it'll be a
non finish is because of cross Andthat's what I was texting Marty when I
was watching that live because that endingto the NXT episode two weeks ago was
so awesome and it was completely unexpected, and I think that was sweet when

(10:05):
they just brought Scarlett out after AdamCole just won a match and she put
the hourglass on the apron. Nowthis week, Keith threw the hourglass down
on the ground and then we sawCarrying Cross come and crush the glass and
Scarlet's handling the sand and obviously there'simpending doom on whoever is getting into Carrying

(10:30):
Cross his way, which, bythe way, Bronson Reid called him out,
and that's a match happening next weekafter like JOBB or that. It
was like one hundred and forty pounds, Yo, Leon Rouff, I like
this dude. He was super excitedcoming out. That guy was just so

(10:50):
wiry. He came out and hewas like stomping on the apron and like
did you see the way he likehe like hung from the the ring rope.
Yeah, Like he was like upsidedown all sorts of energy. That
was his first um entrance on TV. He'd been he'd been doing jobs for

(11:11):
the last like two months. Sogood for him to get into the get
his own entrance, and I betyou he's gonna get in like the Cruiserweight
picture or something as soon. Butuh, very strong showing from Bronson this
week. Uh, And he calledout Carrie and Cross, so that that
right there. That'll be good.Um. I don't want to get away
from the that title picture thing yetthough, because I feel like there's a

(11:35):
there's a lot of likesibilities in thatthing. You know what I liked about
that whole like meeting of the mindsin there. It was like Johnny like
talking about being the only triple crownchampion, Finn talking about he doesn't wait
in lines, he cuts in them, uh you know, Keith and Adam
verbally drawing like everyone got in likethere they have their say, and this

(12:00):
is one of those rare cases whereI'm like, damn, I love all
four of these guys. Oh yeah. And then there was the comment by
Cole about how he comes into whereFinn was and surpasses him, which was
like a little bit of a thingat and at New Japan or Ring of
Honor, no not Ring New Japan. Yeah r New Japan. Yeah.
I liked the line about Finn saidAdam Cole was a nice transitional champion,

(12:24):
and I was like, that reallydidn't make sense. He's been champion for
like yeah, yeah that and Adameven laugh that one off. But this
is awesome. I mean I knowthat, you know, you're supposed to
split your storylines in half. Butthis is the cool part about what ww's
been doing for the past couple ofweeks, including on the main roster,
is acknowledging that not everyone is intheir own little space. This is an

(12:50):
connected place that all of the lockerroom sees each other. So why can't
things intertwine? And this is likemain event type stuff that we're looking at
here between the North American Championship inthe NXT Championship. So I'm very much

(13:11):
looking forward to that triple threat becausethat that's gonna tear the house down.
They better give them at least twentyfive thirty minutes for that one. And
I mean from that too. Shockingly, the thing that I want to see
the least is Johnny Winn I knowthat. Yeah, Like that's the the
least wanted outcome for me of all. He just doesn't want to see Johnny

(13:31):
Argane kick out of like ten Sunsetdrives. I mean we've seen, like
they have like a three off MattLike we've seen it. It's just something
that like we're familiar with. Iwant new. Yeah, Keith would be
great, Finn would be amazing,Like I think it actually is Finn,
like I think it'll be Finn.Yeah maybe maybe. Do you think they're
gonna take the strap off of KeithLee that quick though? I mean it

(13:56):
for like three or four months.I mean most people don't have the North
American Championship for as long as then XT title though. Yeah, that's
true. Usually you would have toelevate Keith I think at that point.
But I mean, all these guysmixing it up love that. I mean,
what if they So what if theylet's say Finn or Keith wins,

(14:18):
and then you got that winner takeall match in two weeks, two or
three weeks, which which will havethe non finish Let's say Cross gets involved,
which obviously I think is the outcomeof that. Um, what if
they then make it a triple threatmatch with all tips with both titles on

(14:39):
the line, oh winner, likewinner take all? Or what if they
do a triple threat match completely differentwhere it's like you take the title of
the person you pin. So noone wants to pin Cross because he gonna
have the title. So if youpin Fin, you take his belt.
If you take pin Adam, youtake his belt. If Cross pins one
of them, he takes both. Here goes Marty with his fantasy booking.

(15:01):
That's going way to ahead for me. I'm sticking. I'm sticking straight up
here on the the next week,That's what I'm paying attention to. You're
still on the North American Championship match. I'm still on that, and then
I will make my inference on whathappens next. How about that? Okay,
let's transition over to the women's tagteam. Well, first match there,

(15:24):
because you talked about Cross, let'stalk about Champa. There was the
silent promo, like not even promo, but the backstage where they were like,
what's next for you? When hedidn't say anything. Oh yeah last
week when he drove off. Yeah, he could put on Twitter recently that
he was like n XT for life. I think there was like speculation that
he was leaving or something. Theywere saying he would have he might have

(15:46):
gotten to a program with Randall. But yeah, no, I don't know
what's next for Champa, but we'vebeen speculating that he'd you know, gonna
get back to his roots and kindof use that match with Cross that he
got I want to say, Barrybut like lost, yeah, and and

(16:07):
get back on track. But okay, now can we talk about the women's
eye Okay, cool? Before this, I do want to say that,
um, the women's tag Team Championshipsare as hot as they've ever been.
They have been showcasing those on Rawand SmackDown so nicely. So well,
Bailey and Sasha are doing top notchwork right now. I briefly touched upon

(16:33):
how I love what Bailey's doing inher character, how it's developed, and
how she's really found a groove asa heel. I mean, and Sasha
is just you know, tagging alongfor the ride, same thing. But
they've really been building that that women'stag division so nicely. I mean,
it was kind of in limbo whenwhen Alexa Bliss and Nicky Cross we're holding
it, And that's no detriment towhat they've done from when they instituted it

(16:56):
to now. Yeah, yeah youcould say that. You can say that,
but like it like legitimate storylines rightnow going on. The Iconics are
on fire and they have been sincethey've come back. So glad you know
they came back. Oh, absolutelyworried that they were just like silently released
or something like that. Nope,Nope, And they're doing top notchwork.

(17:18):
They have a beautiful new finisher.Uh. It's kind of like the Carl
Anderson and Luke Gallows finisher, butlike reversed. Um. I think that
Bailey and Sasha have been doing amazingas I said before, and again no
detriment to what Alexiblis and Nicki Crosshave been you know doing in the ring,
because they've really improved, especially Alexei. Um. But I think that

(17:42):
that is pretty much run its course. They've been together for like a good
year now. Um. But whatI love about this is that there's they're
bringing back credibility or they're giving credibilityto these tag championships and they're finally doing
what they said they were going todo. So they took it to NXT
and faced off against SHOTSI and TiguanKnox, and I thought it was a

(18:07):
pretty damn good match. And what'snice about this is defending the titles and
seeing that they're defending the titles andgiving them credibility because they picked up a
win, you know. And andthe cool part about the end of this,
which I completely did not see,was Eo Sharai coming out and defending
the good NXT name after Sasha andBailey. We're trying to get one over

(18:30):
on the two NXT women, soEO gets in there and mixes it up
with them. I don't know whatthe hell that's all about, because we
don't know who's next for EO.We do know that Charlotte's back on the
main roster, so I don't knowif this I don't know if this is
about Bailey and Sasha one of thosetwo going after EO, or this is

(18:53):
just a one off making EO lookgood. I think that was it.
I think it was here's our championkind of thing, not a planning the
seed type of thing. I wouldn'tmind seeing Bailey dose straps going against Ioshara.
I wouldn't mind Sasha seeing seeing Sashago against Ioshara either. Yeah,

(19:15):
you know, I think either couldbe really good. Um, but I
like that they put a good spotlighton them. UM. Pretty solid match
with uh sticking in the women's divisionwith Cayden Carter against Dakota Kai, I
thought that was a really good one. Um. There was a really wonky

(19:36):
finish with Aliyah and I can't rememberif I faced Zialie. Yeah, that
was that was really wonky. Werelike it was that was that was prime
WCW. Yeah, roll up andthen she kicked out and then she just
pinned her again and one like afterafter they forgot to finish after Robert Stone
puked. Yeah. UM, sogood showing for the ladies this week.

(20:00):
I really wanted to point that out, UM and like the women on the
main roster. Not this week withOscar and nia Jack because that was not
great, but the week before thatOscar and Charlotte tore the house down.
Just so good, such a goodshowing, um, which I think they
have another match this Monday for thetitle. Oh that's good. That's good

(20:22):
because our Oscar one. Yeah shutup, Uh, let's go over to
UM. One of the undercard storylinesI like this, by the way.
Uh so Damian Priest had a matchwith Killian Dane high Killian Haven't seen you
dhen He came out and I waslike, Wow, that guy still exists.
I completely forgot about him, completelyentirely forgot about him. Like his

(20:45):
like the like UM news footage stufflike came up like and I was like,
I was like who is this AndI was like, oh yeah,
Killian Dane, that dude still exists? What happened to him? When was
the last time I saw this guy? Because like they were building him up
as like a little bit of amonster for a second and then he just
straight up disappeared. Yeah, don'tknow, don't know, but good to

(21:08):
see him back. Worked a prettygood match there with Damien Priest. Priests
got the win there by the waythey're making Priest into this tweeter now,
which I like because I think thathis personality is kind of showing through h
I feel like that's how it needsto go. He's more authentic and he's
not using these cheap manners to win, you know. The it looks like

(21:30):
the night stick isn't being used quiteas much. We do know that he
is going to face Cameron Grimes nextweek because Cameron and him have gotten into
it and uh he punched him inthe face last week when Grimes was bragging
about how he beat Finn and Priestcouldn't. And then as a result this
week Cameron Grimes slashed his tires anddrove off. He's such a goof dude.

(21:55):
I love that guy. Uh Sothat's a nice little match that we
can have their next week as well. What else happened. Let's see um
tag team match that opened I thoughtwas pretty good, pretty good. Breeze
and Dango, man, they lookgood. They looked really good. Yeah,
Dango Dango looks great. Actually,I'm not gonna lie. I thought

(22:15):
the spoof on Imperium's entrance was awesome. Usually you know it's it's a little
tacky, but this one was prettyfunny. They just put Imperium's music to
like DM. Yeah, that onewas one of the few that actually like
worked it said Emporium. That wasgreat. Um and and like the facial

(22:37):
expressions on on Bartel and Likener itwas great too. The finish was a
little weird because the DDT didn't connecton the on the roll up quite as
nicely. They didn't even replay it. But overall the match was really good.
I really love Imperium on this one. Um Indue Share tried to get
involved, but Ony and Danny attackedfrom behind. I saw on two or

(22:59):
five Live apparently Into Share came backfor the revenge on Only and Danny,
and we've got a jumbled mess inthe tag division. Well still don't forget.
Yeah, they had to showcase thereare four teams stopped it. Yeah,
but yeah, it's all they got. They got those four teams.
That's it. It's all they got. It's all they got. That's okay
though four teams, four teams isa lot. Come on, it's enough.

(23:23):
It's enough. You'll be all right. I mean, we'll tell what
you got undisputed too. But they'renow in a program of Velveteen and Dexter,
which that was interesting, Velveteen cuttinga promo to the cameras, which
there's a lot of stuff too thatwe are talking about that like almost has
to be taken with a grain ofsalt because of I mean, right now

(23:44):
it is Saturday, June twentieth thatwe're recording this, but Friday the nineteenth,
a lot of stuff came out onTwitter. Oh yeah, yeah for
sure. Um, I'm sure thata lot of plans might be changing,
So for sure, for sure. And we'll get to those, um when
we're done talking about the wrestling sceneitself, because I do want to touch

(24:07):
upon that and um at least, you know, kind of go over what
information and stuff came out. Butyeah, British wrestling stuff. But they
had had paired Dexter and Velveteen upwell, Dexter wanted to be paired with
velveteen is because he made his drawingand gave it to him. I do
want to say that the little likewhen they had the promo in the ring

(24:30):
at the beginning, I think itwas two weeks ago, and Dexter kept
showing up and Roddy kept freaking out. That's the dumb comedy spots that I
think work. M No doubt.Um, what did you what did you
think about the uh the therapy session. I actually thought that was pretty fun.
I don't know what's going on sayingKyle Kyle, but like I don't
know where he is where he can'tdo anything or travel or like he's not

(24:52):
really involved. But that was definitelythey were not in the same room.
They weren't absolutely not Like they definitelyhad a camera doing Hile and a different
camera doing those three and they likeI didn't I didn't notice that or whatever
a couple of weeks ago. No, even when they were in the last

(25:12):
limo ride was just the three ofthem. Interesting. I think, I
like, I don't know what's goingon with that. Why he's like not
around huh, Hopefully everything's okay,But that Beard is looking raunchy at and
and all of their beards are lookingraunchy, like bringing Roddy had a beard.

(25:36):
But the the roor Shock test stuffI found it was pretty good comedic
route. Um, looks like thatis just still going to continue with Loomis
and them. Um so there there'sa lot going on at least with Yeah,
yeah, at least um let's see. Uh, Mercedes got a nice

(25:57):
little vignette that was cool. UhSo the women's division just keeps getting She
was another one that stacked what Mercedes, Dude, they have a lot of
talent, bro, They've got alot of talent and um, some of
them are being used as you know, audiences and stuff, but they've They're

(26:22):
deep. They're very deep. Uhdid we miss anything on this episode.
I don't think we did. Idon't think so. Okay, uh main
roster stuff. I did want totouch upon the greatest slab the Uh let's
try that again, the greatest wrestlingmatch ever. Orton and Edge did not
have the greatest wrestling match ever, but they had the greatest wrestling match of

(26:47):
the year. I can unequivocally saythat. And it was like, I
don't know what the exact time ofit was it was over forty. If
it was over forty, man,I'm telling you man, it was is.
It was very great to see bothof those guys that have done this

(27:07):
for so long in their careers andone of them who hasn't even had like
a real match in nine years, put out a product like that. I've
been meaning to watch it. Ijust haven't gotten around to it yet,
because that's the only thing I wantto watch. Absolutely incredible. Randy is
doing his best, he might bedoing his best character work he's ever done

(27:29):
in his career right now. AndI see a lot of people that are
like complaining. They're like, Randyhas so much potential and he's doing what
he's doing here, Like why ishe just kind of mail it in for
like periods of two to three yearsand then all of a sudden comes out
and it's just the best damn thinggoing. Like he is so good when
he's sadistic, He's got this likeswitch flipping in his head right now.

(27:55):
It's it is so just well,it's what they do every time entertaining.
He gets boring, they turn him, heel the fans love him, he
turns face. He gets boring. They turn him heel. The fans love
him face literally like that is hiscareer arc every single goddamn time. Well,
we know how good he is asa heel. He's never been a

(28:17):
bad heel. As a face,Yes, he gets steal, but I
also think that he likes to ribhimself when he is a face, Like
he doesn't take anything seriously when he'sa face. Yeah, but that match
with Edge Man, I'm telling youthere was callbacks like, uh, Edge
hit a rock bottom, Randy hita pedigree. Uh, I don't think
any of them hit a stunner, but they both paid tribute to Eddie Guerrero.

(28:41):
Uh. Like there were so manyfalse finishes, but it was organic,
it wasn't forced false finishes. Andthe physicality and the there wasn't like
a single botch in that match, dude, Like it was so well presented.
Um. I know that everyone hatesthat it got that tag greatest wrestling

(29:02):
match ever, and that kind oftakes away from it because it's not.
But damn they lived up. Theyjust about lived up to those expectations.
And I applaud both of them becauseI'll never forget it. I mean,
I'm that's a match I would goback and watch over and over again,
and now I'm not lying like itwas. It was damn good. It

(29:23):
was damn good. The other thingfor Backlash, the other one that stuck
out to me was the well one, the women's tag match where Sash and
Bailey won, But the match betweenDrew Mcatyre and Bobby Lashley another really good
match. I love I love theirWWE title picture right now, and I'll

(29:45):
transition over into Ray You're in asecond, because I did want to talk
about Randy and Christian with Christian backcalling him out and basically turning into the
Red the Legend Hiller again, youknow, kind of reliving this, this
moment of his um. The intertwiningof stuff is just so great. Um,

(30:07):
did you see the punt that hehad on Christian after Rick Flair?
Uh? That was really well. That was really well executed, really well
executed. Um, Bobby Lashley anMVP. That that stable that they're building
is awesome because they have their seton Shelton Benjamin and now Apollo Cruise.

(30:33):
Apollo Cruise won with a dirty rollup on on Shelton Benjamin or he used
the ropes to assist so we couldbe seeing a more aggressive, more you
know, bends the rules Apollo cruise, which awesome because one they're gonna push
Apollo pretty far now because he's gotnew music, so that's always an indicator.

(30:56):
Really awesome music, by the way, and they've really been spotlighting him
on television in the last month,so I'm very happy for Apollo and if
they get like you know, there'sa lot of speculation online like this is
like a new era of like anational domination type thing, you know,
with the black talent and stuff likethat. But I mean, organically it's

(31:17):
working really well. An MVP atthe Helm is just doing just amazing work.
Amazing work, and I've been continuouslypraising him for that. So it
looks like he's not done with DrewMcIntyre Lashly that is because Lashly's severing ties
with Lana. That stuff I thinkwas really good. I can touch upon

(31:42):
the Seth Rollins ray Mysterio story.Dominic just coming out of nowhere and he
was like a bolt of lightning attacksSeth from behind when ray Masterio was distracting
him on the on the via satellitecamera. That stuff was really cool.
Dominic basically, he's he's an athletickid like it's crazy and he's big too,

(32:06):
like it's it's weird. So that'scontinuing. I believe they said that
Ray Mysterio is coming back to Rawnext week, so that feud with Rollins
is also continuing along as well thetag Championship stuff. It's a little wonky,
but we finally get a match nextweek with um the Street Profits and

(32:30):
war Raiders. We have a Kiratazawaand a stable of ninja's now with this
Giant seven three ninja that has notbeen revealed yet. That's another thing.
But I mean, overall, Rawwas really good, and it was the
first one I believe that Bruce Pritchardwrote because Paul Hammond is no longer a

(32:51):
part of Creative on Raw, andthey consolidated the teams between them and SmackDown.
M Speaking of SmackDown on the onlything I saw was Matt Riddle beat
aj Styles. Yeah, that's allI saw. That's all I saw.
Uh, And Bray came back orsomething follow the Buzzard's Bray Oh really yeah

(33:15):
with Broun Yeah, Okay, cooldown for it. I'll pay attention to
that going forward. Okay. Uh, Now that I've regurgitated everything that's happened
on ww television. H let's getinto this. And I don't want to,
you know, mention you know, names, because there's so many that

(33:37):
I don't want to say the wrongname or whatever. But there were some
very concerning reports coming out about Britishwrestling and I only saw them on on
Friday because I had been avoiding wrestlingTwitter because that's what that's what I do
when I haven't watched new episodes. But there's this hashtag speaking out and I

(34:00):
forget what the promotion was in Britain. I think it's like britt rests or
something. But there were a handful, more than a handful of talents and
like superstar talents that were accused ofsexual assault and all kinds of heinous things

(34:20):
against women. And it's just it'svery sad to see it's not welcome in
this community. It's it's barbaric. It's it's unspeakable that these people behaved in
this manner. And um, youknow, like this is another thing too
about wrestling fandom that I can't stand. You know, if it's somebody that

(34:43):
somebody likes them, they're automatically jumpingto a conclusion that it didn't happen,
and I'm all for innocent until provenguilty stuff, but when it comes in
a wave like this, it's justit. You have to believe, you
have to believe the women and it'sit's terrible and you feel horrible for those
women. Forget the talent there piecesof shit. Um, it's just a

(35:08):
very it was a very sad dayin the wrestling community. There were a
lot of names, uh in nXTUK, there were a couple of names
in AW I believe um, justtalents all over, even some I believe
in a ring of honor, justanyone in the British pro wrestling scene and

(35:30):
it's just unspeakable stuff. Hate it. It's you don't want to see it
anywhere in the world, not onlyjust in the world of wrestling, but
just wanted to make a point onthat that completely denounced it. It's it's
bullshit and I hope those women, those courageous women that came out what they

(35:51):
said are okay in the long run. Here yeah, I mean the list
of in the British wrestling is justlike, there's a lot, um,
there's a lot. I mean,WWE released Jack Gallaher you do um allegations

(36:12):
and then I mean, like there'sjust a whole bunch. I know Asbury
is someone I don't know like thedetails of it, but his name is
out there. I mean, God, there's the list goes on top talents
everywhere. That's again, I don'twant to name any names because I don't

(36:32):
want to mistake anything. I mean, like even against other wrestlers, Like,
there's a lot going on. There'sa lot of things going on.
I know, I know Legaro isone of them because I've seen a lot
of people after his apology, we'rejust like, go fuck yourself. Um

(36:53):
and I mean, and then ofcourse when you come over to the WWE
side of things, there's Riddle, which was a big one, which this
is the one that kind of hitit on the nose because it was like,
I know that SmackDown was taped forFriday, but all of the stuff
came out about Riddle, and thenthe Friday Night SmackDown almost centers around him.

(37:16):
Yeah, like his debut, hepins a Jay styles, it ends
with like the whole like the talentin the ring dancing with him. I
know it's hard to like not makethat what your episode is like when it's
pre taped. But at the sametime it was like it's a little tone

(37:37):
deaf. Yeah, it's definitely, yeah, definitely tone deaf. And Riddle
is one of the riddles, oneof those, uh that has actually come
out with a statement from a lawyer. And I think I saw some stuff
from his wife that was completely youknow, denouncing those allegations. But again
I'm not gonna get into it becauseI don't know any story. All I

(37:58):
know is whoever did anything like thatagainst uh, you know women just overall,
anybody that does it is piece ofshit. If the hope is that
any of this stuff is untrue, just any sliver of it is untrue,
but it's just it's such it's garbage. Yeah, that's And then with the

(38:22):
Riddle thing, there was it washe came out and said that he's the
one that's being harassed and that hiswife also said the same thing. But
again, you know, you don'tknow who's telling the truth. I mean,
obviously you side not on Riddle sideright now. And then there was

(38:43):
more with velveteen Dream yep, thatall happened god months ago, where there
was like the underage kid that hewas talking to I guess more came out
with more screen grabs and more screenshots, and I guess he's deleted as Twitter
lead to his Instagram. That's whywhen I said we were talking about Dexter
and Velveteen, I mean, whoknows that that's going to continue? Who

(39:06):
knows that Velveteen is still going tobe signed in a week? Right?
Right? So yeah, yeah, all this stuff coming to light, it's
just so it's so disappointing because welove we love the world wrestling. I
mean there's obviously the you know, the tycoons and the people that are you
know, the rich guys that runall of the stuff, and they're they're

(39:29):
not great people, um, butthe talents themselves is just people you connect
with you just never know, andit's just it's so hard. It's so
hard. Um. But what's evenharder as being those those women that experience
such heinous things. So I justI just wanted to bring that to attention,
not to down everybody, but hit's definitely a story that's been making

(39:51):
its way through and hopefully we'll geta little bit more clarity in the coming
weeks on these allegations and everything that'scome out. So let's do this.
Let's finish out our brackets. Marty, do you have yours pulled out?
Do you do? Okay? Easyones? Okay, these are the final

(40:15):
four matchups. Let's start on theleft. I have in my hand,
I have Sean Michaels against John Sena. I am the same. I have
to go with Big Match, John, do you I'm going with Big Match
John? Heartbreak kid. We've alreadybeen over this. Just timeless competitor,

(40:43):
really amazing talent, somebody who reallychanged the game. But it's just seen
a superstardom for me, superseeds everything, like he's just he's the man.
Yeah, and I heard you,but I don't know. I don't think

(41:04):
he convinced me. I think Istill have to go with HBK over John
Cena, mostly just because it's likeHBK I think of, you know,
obviously the Undertaker matches his matches withStone Cold, you know, the feud
with Triple H, Like I thinkof that kind of stuff. And with

(41:25):
John it's like literally with him,the whole attitude era, not attitude but
ruthless aggression era kind of like iswhatever to me? Like, yeah,
there was the year long feud withthe Rock. There was this build up
with Roman, there's the aj stylesone, there's the stuff with Kevin Owens.
But like that's such a microchasm likeof his entire career, Like that's

(41:49):
like four years compared to his likewhat eleven twelve thirteen year career. Yeah,
but Sean Michaels, I guess evenif you look at him, it's
like a microcasm because the attitude arrowhe wasn't there. We're not even talking
about like his his rockers years toLike yeah, for me, that kind

(42:10):
of goes out the window diesel stuff. His stuff starts with Brett for me,
okay, um, and then youknow, built into d X and
then when he comes back. Butyeah, I don't know. I'm still
so split. But I think it'sI think it's HBK By literally a hair.

(42:32):
Okay, that's your pick, you'regoing with it. I'm going with
it, all right. Uh,this is a spectacle. You we could
talk about this for hours and hours, but so we don't get cut off
here by the world of Zencaster,I'm going to speed this up. I
have the Rock versus Stone Cold, and I am going to go with the

(42:57):
Texas Rattlesnake, and they had onehell of a trifecta of WrestleMania matches.
Amazing feud over the Intercontinental Belt beforethe attitude aera settled in, or just
as the area settled in. Um, you can't get better than it.
Rock In Austin, I think isthe best feud of all time. Um,

(43:19):
it's the chemistry between the two,the verbal cues, all of the
segments that you can think of inthat time period. We're just unforgettable.
And the reason I have the edgehere to Austin is just there. There's
something about Austin with his I don'twant to say demeanor. It's just his

(43:40):
brashness, you know, like he'sjust in your face, f you.
I'm gonna stun you, I'm gonnatalk crap to your face, like it's
just untouchable. And Rocky I alreadypraised him that to the to the highest
suns last week. I just gotto give the edge to Austin here though.

(44:07):
Now for me minus CM Punk versusStone called Steve Austin all for Fox's
sake and everybody, everybody's sitting backfor twenty minutes. This is the few
that I wanted the most. Ever, I still sit by it. I
still want it, although I guessit wouldn't be as good as it would
have been four years ago now.But you know, all I think back

(44:31):
to is that face to face thatthey had when Punk was the leader of
the Nexus. Austin was backstage andhe asked me if he could do can
you say that alphabet backwards? Ican whip your ass backwards? Literally more
sparks flying in that two minute promothan like so many feuds that they try
and build right now, Like itwas it's almost like sting Taker, where

(44:53):
it was like it makes so muchsense, why did it never happen?
And you've got that, and thenyou've got the promos that they had when
they were building up the w Wtwo K thirteen, where it was Punk
and Austin backstage just jabbing at eachother with I think it was Michael Cole
was like a moderator. I mean, like literally my two favorite wrestlers,

(45:20):
and it's the perfect Yin and yangwhere it's like they offset so much that
I think it would be just flawlessmatch, Like if you could have Punk
in his four hundred and whatever fortyfour days. However, many days it

(45:40):
was few like that Punk versus StoneCold see Boston Attitude era. I think
it would be like the best viewed, the best match ever. And it
hurts me to say this because throughmy bracket, Punk has beaten The Rock
and Triple H to come up againstStone Cold, but I have to take

(46:05):
Stonecold? Who All right, soyou have your final set. I have
my final set, John Cena versusStonecold. I can't wait to get into
that one. Next time we dothis podcast is the Rustlemania fourteen rematch of
Stonehold versus Shan Michaels. As muchas I would love it to be Shaun
Michaels versus CM Punk, I justI can't see Punk edging out over Austin.

(46:30):
Woof, what a table we haveset. That's awesome. All right
again before this cuts off, andI'm gonna do this like an auction reader.
We are on Twitter at gimmicod. We're on Facebook and Facebook dot com
slash Stick to the Gimmick. Iam on Twitter at Spinney Rasslin. He

same for us so we can continueto talk your ears off. That's all
I got. I want to getout of here before this decides to stop
again and I have to edit this, so Cianora. Hopefully everyone has a
great week, enjoy the weather, and I'll leave it to Marty to tell

(47:15):
you about the exciting things we haveplanned for you on episode one hundred eleven,
three straight integers of one. Ido also want to say that it
was a three sixteen PM that Isaid that I wanted Stone Cold to go
into the finals, so that's kindof cool. Random doesn't mean anything,
but you know, kind of cool. But yeah, we've been having major

(47:37):
issues with this shit today, soI'm gonna try and rattle this off real
quick. Props to Spencer for havingto edit all of this, because it's
gonna be a nightmare and I'm gladI don't have to do it. So
oh well, but next week Episodeone one one, the good old episode
three. If it's in Roman numerals, well I guess it's III man whatever,

(47:57):
who cares? Episode one of elevenNext week, after my birthday,
My birthday is next Wednesday. ThisWednesday. I guess if you're listening to
this podcast, this week, thisand next is always weird. It's it's
a Wednesday. Podcast will be afterthat. So we got a good birthday
guest, and it's gonna be noneother than Jonah Hill. Never misses a

(48:22):
beat, never misses a day, never misses a week. So that's what
we got. Episode one to eleven, we'll talk about God. That'll be
after the North American match, sowe'll get that one out of the way.
We'll get probably a lot more informationabout everything that's going out wrestling world
right now. That's about it,though, one eleven next week, you

(48:44):
boys, that's it. Good Bye,
