(00:16):
It is the final episode of Maytwenty twenty. Stick to the gimmick.
We're on number one oh eight nowas we move into the belly of summer.
We've got in your house in thenear future coming up here, got

(00:38):
backlash as if anyone cares, andFighter fested a w and all that other
stuff going into the new season. What's up, guys, Spencer Davies,
Marty Harp here to bring you anotherepisode. I'll stick to the gimmick STTG
with your boys, checking in seeinghow the wrestling world is doing. Marty,

(01:06):
what's up man? Nothing? Ido want to say though, that
summer doesn't start until j twenty one, so we're not in the belly of
summer. We're not in the bellyof summer. What body part of summer?
Are we in? Esophagus? See, it's perfect. You get things
wrong and you just don't correct them. It's like you can just ignore all

(01:27):
those issues. It's fine. Okay. So what we're gonna do, and
this one is what we've always done, is we're gonna go through n XT
and then we're gonna talk a littlebit about aw because Marty gets annoyed by
that. But I want to talkabout it because I watched Double or Nothing

(01:48):
and then I watched the following Dynamiteand significant things did happen. So we're
gonna talk about that, and thenwe're gonna wrap it up with our brackets,
in which we are in the Eliteeight now. I think unless we
have to do the second half ofour Sweet sixteen, I can't remember,
but when we pull up the brackets, we'll definitely remember. So before we

(02:13):
get started, like to remind you, we are on Twitter at Gimmipower and
Facebook at facebook dot com slash stickto the Gimmick. I am on Twitter
at Spinney Rasslin. He is onTwitter at Martin David Harp. So I
think the most obvious thing we gottastart with here when we talk about the
Black and Gold brand is the pitfight, And now that Marty's gotten a

(02:35):
chance to see it, I thinkthat it's a good idea to Delvin to
something that we haven't seen on Wtelevision in like twenty years, maybe longer.
I think it's the most you know, it's very similar to the lions
Den, and you know, Ikind of posed that idea on last week's

(02:57):
show when they advertised it, andI thought that would really give it a
good authentic feel. I told Martythat you should just let him go in
there and make it, you know, straight up just a real fight,
because they've both done you know,MMA type stuff, and he's like,
Nahn, you're crazy. And it'sfunny because the first, like the first
major thing that happened in this pitfight was Matt Riddle kicked Timothy Thatcher's teeth

(03:22):
out, two of them real, which I don't think that was real.
You don't. I do not thinkthat was real. Really, Yeah,
Okay, explain yourself. The bleedingstopped way too soon if okay, So,
and I think that he I thinkhe bit into a blood capsule that

(03:50):
looked pretty. That's a hell ofa good blood capsule that I don't know,
man, because here's what I saw. I saw Kurt trying to separate
Matt from tim after he got himin the in the in the ribs,
and while Thatcher was down, Riddlecame over and gave him like a little
punt. Yeah, and I thinkhe got him like that. That was

(04:13):
my first initial reaction, just becauselike Angle was there trying to separate him
and get him into like their respectivecorners where he was going to start counting,
but Riddle came in with like anextra shot, like right afterwards,
even when Angle was separating him,and I truly think that he got him
like square. But even if thatwasn't planned, I think that it looked

(04:40):
perfect because there was like an actualanimosity between these two and again, knowing
that they both have fighting backgrounds,I think gives it a little bit more
of that realism that blends into thewrestling aspect of it. The setup of
the cage I thought was really good. The fact that they went up top
and you know, did some moves. There was like a rip coordine,
there was you know, tiger suplexup there. They teased that they were

(05:02):
going to go from the top tothe bottom of the cage. The submission
hold from up top was beautiful,uh that Thatcher had on Riddle, And
there was like a really badass photoof that actually, Um, but I
like it just because it this introducesa whole new element of you know,

(05:24):
how hard it is for you know, people coming over from mixed martial arts
to get over in w if theydon't have you know, quote unquote a
personality. This is an easy wayfor that to happen. And yes,
I would like to see this used. I don't want to say more frequently
because you don't want to take awayfrom you know, but this the mystique

(05:44):
of this environment. But put Brockin there for God's sake, you know,
like that'd be something really cool tosee. Um, you know,
especially in you know, Matt Riddlesworld where he's done both as well.
You know, like it's just it'sauthentic if you have the right people to
put it together. And I thinkthat for a trial run on an XT

(06:06):
and in the main event it passedwith flying colors. For me, Yeah,
I thought it was really good.I really liked how they did the
match. I liked that they gotrid of the ropes. Yeah, yeah,
because they because anytime they were tryingto rope break, all they could
do was grab under the cage andand nothing happened. You know. Um

(06:27):
Riddles, Uh, floating bro fromthe top was really nice. Um Thatcher.
This really got me into you know, how hard he actually connects,
how physical he is, um,you know, the rights, the like
I said, the the unique Europeanuppercut Um. I think he's really seamless
in his transitions to submission, holds. I think those were really cool,

(06:51):
just you know, going from asingle leg crab to an STF. I
think he got a cross face inthere. Um. But like the way
it ended I thought was really goodtoo, because it really helped Thatcher get
over as somebody believable now who conqueredMatt Riddle and literally made him pass out.
So and the final image you know, of the camera dead panting the

(07:15):
Thatcher on top of the the cageor whatever, like it was a really
good boost to him. And youknow, who knows what Matt Riddle does
after this, and you've already textedme that they're moving him to smack down.
We're gonna get Yeah, presumably,I don't know if that's true or
whatever. But for Thatcher specifically though, like this was huge for him,

(07:36):
I think, and uh, wellexecuted, so good job on the main
event there, Um, talk aboutthe Cruiserweight Tournament because I know that Marty
wants to talk about this subject becausehe texted me this morning and we're recording
on a Friday afternoon as per usual. The Triple Threat Cruisers was really really

(07:59):
good. Truly enjoyed uh watching thesethree mix it up. It was Drake
Maverick, Jake Atlas and kusha Um. Right out of the gate, they
had Atlas looking strong. He didin a soup. He did a moonsaalt
on the outside. Uh. Hedid his DDT on on Drake. It
wasn't great looking, but it gotthe job done. Um Kushida. Uh,

(08:20):
those right hands that he had thathe uses, man though, those
are those are pretty devastating, eventhough he's just a you know, a
cruiser, someone who's smaller. Thosepack of power for punch um. And
again, I love the way thathis finisher is literally an arm you know,
an armbar coming off of the turnbuckle. It makes it that much

(08:41):
more devastating. And even like it'sit's like a move into a submission,
it's not just a submission from thetop like because there's impact going from the
top of the turn buckle to theto the mat um. But uh,
while this is being done. Uh, And you think that Maverick side of
the match, because they did areally good job of, you know,

(09:03):
really making you think that Kushida wasgonna win, because that he seemed to
be the most obvious pick. Butin this storyline, you know, like
Drake's just never given up just likehe beat Kushida last week and in this
following week's episode was able to outsmartboth of them, and while Kushida had
Atlas in an armbar, Drake cameover and got the pin. Now we

(09:30):
fast forward to the replay when he'sinterviewing with the backstage reporter and Drake has
shown that Atlas is tapping before thehand comes down for the three count.
In this we have a little bitof, you know, a controversy or

(09:52):
whatever. But as soon as Drakesays that he's you know, he'll do
another match, will do them amatch that Kushieda comes out of nowhere,
Shanks's hand says, no, youdo it, you do it. So
apparently we have our finals with DrakeMaverick versus l eo Vel Deafantasma. But
here's here's what Marty wants to know. And I'm gonna leave it up to

(10:13):
him because he brought this up,and I think it is actually a very
fair discussion and you didn't really everthink about it with submissions and how they're
turned into pins. He has onequestion for y'all, and I'll let him
pose that to you now, becauseall right, so this is what I
texted Spencer this morning, which doesn'tmake much sense to me. So if

(10:37):
you go back and watch it,because she has got the armbar in and
his legs are going over Atlas's shoulders, so I mean technically he's pinning him
like we've seen pins, Like allyou need to do is drape a part
of your body over their body.If their shoulders are down, you get

(10:58):
pinned. So technically he's pinning Atlasin my eyes, but it's never counted
as that, Like you never seesomeone get counted as a pin with their
shoulders down when they have the armbarin on them. And Spencer brought up
the fact that maybe it was becauseKushida's shoulders are down too, it negates

(11:20):
it being a pin, to whichI responded, how do you explain the
figure four lock? Because that isalso the same thing where their body part
is draped over the other person's bodypart, both shoulders are down from both
people and it's counted as a pin. Doesn't make sense to me. And
then the part that muddies it evenmore is Drake coming in and putting his

(11:41):
shoulder over Atlas while Kushida's legs arestill over Atlas. How does it become
Drake's pin. It's to me,it's just like something that I've never thought
of before. But like when ithappened, I was like, this doesn't
make any sense to me because everythingI've been taught previously in the world of
wrestling refutes everything that happened in thatfinish thin. So if anybody had an

(12:11):
answered for me on that one thatI'm not seeing, please go right ahead.
But like, because the thing is, if Drake had put his arm
over Kushia's leg, which was thenover Atlas, I will I'll take the
point away because technically he's pinning Kushida, right, so it would have been
him getting a victory over Kashieda insteadof yes, yeah, but that wasn't

(12:35):
what happened, and so he putthe pin. He put the cover over
Atlas second, which means that he'snot the legal person pinning. It doesn't
make sense to me. It isvery you know, I never thought of
it, And then I texted Marty, damn it because he's right in the

(12:56):
figure four. The only thing Iwould say is that the person that's applying
it has their shoulders up. Iguess, but I can guarantee you pinfall
where the person who was applying itwas on their back and they went with
the pin when they started the count. Yes, yes, watch, the

(13:18):
creators are going to just come rightafter you. Creative teams just gonna own
in a Parti's email and be like, listen, your son of a bitch,
you found us out. Don't saya word about it. I just
don't. I don't get it.And maybe I'm missing something. Maybe there
was some rule explain forever ago thatI missed, but it just doesn't make
sense to me. Okay, nowthat we got your point out of the
way, because I know you wantedto say that so so badly, h

(13:41):
decision to put Drake going into thefinals against Phantasma and what happens in that
finals because Phantasma did come up toMaverick after the match and shake his hand,
and clearly this is gonna be aclash that's people are gonna need to

(14:03):
pay attention to because one there's thePhantasma storyline and two there's the Drake storyline,
So there's kind of two things happeningat once there. Yeah, so
I don't know. We talked aboutit last week where if this ended up
being the match we weren't sure ifthey were going to pay off two storylines
in one match, But I don'tknow. I think it at the very
least, we see the Phantasma thething continue on and get a little bit

(14:24):
of a jump start right entirely what, Well, this would really wouldn't make
sense, but I wouldn't put itover WWE creative head, even if it
isn't an XT. What if Phantasmahad his goons cost him to really make
it look like he's getting screwed overhere, Oh, to make it seem

(14:46):
like he's the victim. Yes,even in the title match, which would
again make not very much sense, but in the longer term payoff here,
I honestly wouldn't be shocked if somethinglike that happened right right, And that's
I'm saying the same thing. Um, they'll be there, will be on

(15:07):
my prediction right there, Uh,phantasmas goons screw him over to make him
look like he's really the victim here. Uh, and then thereby giving Drake
the the interim title and and Iseriously have no idea how things are done
behind closed doors there, but Drake, you know, getting to this point,
I didn't see that happening at allwhen it first started. So uh,

(15:33):
okay, let's let's move on here. Uh the tag team match,
it was Riah Ripley and Eosharai againstCharlotte Flair and a mystery partner. That
mystery partner ended up being Chelsea Green, and uh, we had another Charlotte

(15:54):
Winna. Charlotte wins. She wondirty though she had the legs onto the
rope with the leverage thing. Ibelieve she got the pin on Eo while
Ria was outside and she was pissed. Eo and Ria both hit each other

(16:15):
during the match. Chelsea even hitCharlotte during the match inadvertently. I saw
this as away with even though it'sl L, Charlotte wins. Okay,
we got Chelsea Green to win finallysomething and over somebody that was in the
main event picture in the women's division. That's how I saw it. Yeah,
because they put Chelsea with Charlotte fora reason, Like there's no I

(16:41):
had no idea who the partner wasgoing to be. But now that they
put Chelsea there, that means that, Okay, she's gonna get pushed to
this guy eventually, Like and especiallyI don't know if you saw the post
match stuff, but Chelsea Green droppedRobert Stone already. Oh really, yeah,
that was that was on our nexttease Twitter she fired him or something

(17:03):
like on camera. So I don'tknow what where she's gonna go. Maybe
she's gonna be Charlotte's lackey. Sorry, I don't because I kind of liked
the Robert Stone branches because like hehad a at least a having a manager
is a good thing when you're firstin there. And Chelsea's only been why

(17:25):
on screen for like three or fourmonths, Maybe like they must have something
planned for her. What do youthink? I think so too. I
think that they're kind of like groomingher up. Do you think that she's
gonna be like, I don't wantto say Charlotte's lackey, but like uh,

(17:45):
you know, understudy or something like. No, I think it was
just them trying to get her intothe limelight a little bit. Okay,
Okay, so it's completely different,Okay, gotcha, all right. I'm
just curious in that because obviously, you know, you know, Charlotte's taken
on EO and Rhea in a triplethreat at takeover in your House. Um,

(18:07):
so that's settled. That's going tobe for the NXEC Championship. Good
on that. Uh, I'm justgonna go. I'm just gonna keep scrolling
through the rounds here. Um.Johnny Gargano took on Adrian Atlas Uh for
like three seconds. By the way, Johnny's music got remastered or added lyrics

(18:30):
added in, and I like thata little bit more than what he first.
My favorite part of this match though, was Beth saying that the dude
that he was facing was a newcomerand debuted in twenty seventeen. That was
my favorite part. That was freshlegs, fresh legs. Um. Johnny

(18:52):
took care of business after Alanis triedto do what he could um. And
then after that in we had aparody of Johnny and Candice in their room,
MIAs making fun of it with aflashlight up to her face, and
then she gives it over to Keith. And so I was actually more right

(19:19):
on this than Marty was, becausebecause Marty thought that there was gonna be
a mixed tag matchet takeover. Sowhat they did was instead they split it
up. It's gonna be Candice versusMia next week and Johnny versus Keith for
the North American championship at in yourHouse, So it's still a storyline that's

(19:41):
together, but they're not having amatch together. I also I did like
the Mia and Keith Lee like housepromo that was making fun of the ridiculous
Johnny and Candace promos. Yeah, that was good. That was good.
That was pretty well done. Iliked that one. I thought Teagan coming

(20:04):
in with one slice of pizza fromGarganos was pretty good too. She literally
let them slice. But no,Yeah, that was good parody to advance
the feud. And like I said, Mia and Candil getting on next week.
Um, there was a quick littlepromo package. Well we'll knock out

(20:26):
both of these. Actually, umImperium did their thing uh to basically talk
about their upcoming opponents with One andDanny And then this was nice. Actually
One and Danny got their own thing. We haven't seen them actually, like
you know, they've only been reallyon screen as wrestlers, Like we really

(20:47):
haven't heard them cut promos. Wehaven't really heard them talk much since they've
been an NXT and that's been likethree years. This was nice. This
is a good change of pace.Um basically talking about their upbringing that you
know, Oney was brought up inBoston and Danny Birch, you know,
getting brought up in England. Therewas two choices. He could either laced

(21:11):
up a pair of boots to playfootball or you could use these two used
to use these two hands and thenonly basically saying that he had to fight
his way out of where he grewup in you know, Roughneck, Boston
area. And then the two metup at a pub. Now this was
funny because they both had glasses ofwater and they cheersed a glass of waters.

(21:32):
But it was cool. They werebasically you know, talking about Imperium
and also themselves talking about how theyfeel like they've never been more on fire.
Something's just clicking right now. Andlike I told you too, like
last week when they had that matchagainst ever Rise, I felt that they
were way more aggressive and way moreturned up to eleven, you know,

(21:56):
and it looks like, you know, they're feud with Imperiom or there a
match with imperiod is gonna be reallygood. I don't think one and Daniel
win the first time, but Ido think they're eventually going to win those
straps agreed. Yeah, Um hada women's match Shotsy black Heart against Roquel

(22:17):
Gonzalez. Shots he came out withher tank eat my tank. Uh,
I'm gonna say that every time Imentioned Shotsy black heart now and she faced
Roquel Gonzalez and Gonzalez. This wasGonzalezs like first big win. Um,
even though there was interference from DakotaTigan tried to help and all this,

(22:38):
but you know, Candacel Ray cameout and got in her face like it
was a big jargle, you knowmess. But Roquel looked pretty good.
I thought the finisher with like thelike one armed power bomb slam thing,
that was nice. Shotsy nearly killedherself by trying a coffin drop off of
the second rope on the other side, he committed suicide. Good god,

(23:00):
I mean, yeah, that wasa hell of a spot. But I
cringed. I was like, ohmy gosh, because she like overshot it
and like literally, if Roquel didn'tgrab her, like, she could have
really messed herself up. Um.But this that's where I do gain you
know, respect for shots She putsher you know body on the line and

(23:22):
she's pretty pretty dang good about whatshe does. Um, So I think
that uh, big win for Roquellbut Shotzi obviously gains a lot from this
just being a daredevil. Um,Finn and Damian are gonna get it on
it in your house. That's prettymuch all. Uh. They reviewed what
Damien said last week, and thenFinn kind of just responded, Um,

(23:48):
I don't think he really said anythingmuch of substance, right as usual,
No, Finn, Oh okay, never mind, No, Yeah, it
was just your basic running the mill, keep the feud in your minds promo,
right, Um, okay, hereabout what you think about this?
Uh, William Regal and Adam Coledo a negotiation via zoom. Clearly,

(24:18):
Adam Cole was supposed to have hischampionship celebration this week. I don't know
what that got stopped for. Maybeyou know, somebody just couldn't make it
or something like that and they hadto postpone it. But instead he ended
up negotiating with William Regal about howDream doesn't deserve this and blah blah blah,
and you know Cole's you know,he digged at you know, Regal's

(24:42):
real man man character, like itwas kind of cool that it was also
good to see, you know,Regal's face on an extra television again and
that just like that disapproving snarl isjust so it's so beautiful. What did
you think about this segment? Andobviously we're getting a championship match out of

(25:03):
this at Takeover, where the stipulationis if Dream loses, he doesn't get
a shot at the NXD Championship anymore, while Adam Cole is champion. The
segment itself was good. I likedthe back and forth between Cole and Regal,

(25:26):
and when it comes to Velveteen notbeing able to challenge Adam Cole anymore,
I think that Velveteen is gonna lose. And I think that if and
when Cole loses it, he'll loseit because Dream like interferes or something.
Ah, So that's just gonna continue. Yeah, that would be my guess
because it'll, you know, makeAdam Cole lose it in a non clean

(25:51):
way, and it'll make that havesomething to do with each other afterwards it
or it'll like interject a teena itwill be like a triple threat match for
the title or something like that becausevalveteen can challenge for it because it's not
an Adam Cole fair But here's theI kind of want to see this one.
This feud end because it just itjust hasn't connected with me on the

(26:15):
main event level as much as passones have. It's just kind of there,
you know, like even even dreamsfeud with Champa to get to the
the NXC title match was like, really, I was really invested in that.
This one, it's just I don'tknow if it's because of the you
know, the the current conditions orwhat whatnot of you know, COVID,

(26:38):
but like, I just can't getinvested in this one now the screen that
much, so it doesn't help.Yeah. Yeah, the complete opposite is
something like Champa and carrying Cross. So Champa goes at Leon Roff, you
know, he hits a quick fairytaleending on him, and then uh,

(27:00):
you know, Scarlet's out there watching, and then Cross comes up on the
screen just his eyes, which Ithought was pretty badass looking. His eyes
are you know, in black andwhite, and he you know, basically
cuts the promo like that it's it'sgonna be something he's never seen. Blah
blah blah. This is the one. This is the match I want to

(27:22):
see the most. Crossing Champa.Yeah, I agree, Like I think
that's more of a main event thanthan Dream and Cole right now, Like,
I'm legitimately invested in that. It'sthat match, and then it's the
triple threat women's matches that I'm lookingforward to the most. Yeah, I
definitely want to see that Champa andCross match the most. I'm wondering if

(27:48):
they're going to have that open maybeI'm curious. I believe the pay per
view is June seventh, by theway, so that is not too far
away. I think that that's it'sSunday, it's a Sunday, then that's
next Sunday. Well done. Uhyes, so it's a week from this

(28:12):
coming Sunday, is what you're saying. Yes, okay, got it?
Boom. I don't think I missedanything else on the show. Uh,
Like I said, Cannie and mea go at it next week, and
then did they say Imperium and onyDanny are gonna get the championship match next

(28:33):
week too? I'm not sure Iwouldn't be able to answer that. I
appreciate your honesty, That's also whatI will. I do also want to
say though, them having the likelittle bit of crowd helped so much.
That helped me. You liked it. Okay, so you did. You
liked it? Okay, you justjust a little bit of background noise,
Like I said, it's uh,you know, it just kind of helps

(29:00):
and and and hearing just even thebecause you can just treat it as if
it's like uh, an indie show, you know, like with very little
you know, but you still hearthe reactions of a boo or a cheer
and a chant of you know,a chant here and there, and it's
just like, Okay, there's alittle bit more normal, you know,
this is a little bit better. And um, you know, having the

(29:26):
uh the boards there kind of remindsme of like a hockey environment. They
used it Ria crashed into it.Um, that's something I guess you can
you can use to your advantage ifyou want to, you know, brace
for impact or something like that.So not too shabby, not too shabby.

(29:47):
Um. Do you have anything elseto say on NXT before we move
on to uh double or nothing?Ah, do not do not? Okay,
Uh, let me read off theresult from double or Nothing and then
I'm just gonna give you a coupleof moments that I thought were really good.
Um. I thought this was welldone. It was similar to WWE.

(30:11):
I just don't like when pay perviews are that long. It like
los literally four hours. Um soI was admittedly like losing not losing interest,
but I was getting tired. Umso. Uh in the In the
Buy and the Best Friends won thenumber one contendership by beating Private Party.

(30:33):
UH. Casino Ladder match went tothe Mystery who was Brian Cage who is
managed by Taz. We'll get intohim in a second. Uh. MJF
did beat Jungle Boy in singles match. UH Cody won the TNT Championship by
beating Lance Archer. UM Chris Statlanderbeat Penelope Forward. We called that one

(30:56):
too. UM Dustin Rhodes uh squashedSean Spears. UH sheetah beat Nila Rose
in which was I honestly couldn't saymy match of the night. UM Mox
beat Brody Lee. UH and thenUH Matt Hardy and the Elite beat the

(31:18):
Inner Circle. So as far asthe UH predictions went, I don't think
I did too shabby. I can't. I can't help that Ray Phoenix ended
up not being able to participate inthe Casino Ladder Match. I also couldn't
help that Britt Baker couldn't participate inher singles match with kristat Lander. So
other than that, I think Idid pretty good on those Um. The

(31:40):
only thing I was really surprised aboutwas Sean Spears just getting buried, like
literally just buried by by Dustin. But I think there is a longer term
payoff there. Uh so, uh, since you snarkily reacted to Cody and
Lance Archer's match, Um, Codywinning the TNT Championship. So this is

(32:01):
basically like their television Championship, theirIntercontinental deal, you know. Basically.
Um, I thought this was agood move because honestly, you needed to
get Cody some credibility. He's notlike winning all that much, you know.
Um, and I thought he.I thought he cut a pretty good
promo on Wednesday. He said he'sgonna put up the title every week.

(32:22):
Um. So this is gonna bean open invitational every week. That's what
the TNT Championships about. Um.His first match is gonna be against Jungle
Boy next week, which will bereally good because Jungle Boy is really good.
UM. I like, I likethat if if that's the purpose of
the title, if it is liketheir Intercontinental Belt or television Championship. That's

(32:45):
exactly what should be done with it. Uh. Second thought, Um,
Brian Cage, this dude is afreak. He looks like an X man,
Like, have you seen this dude'sface, Like he's got an easy
even, like the facial hair evenreminds me of like Wolverine. Like,
but this dude is jacked to themax. Um. I think putting a

(33:08):
manager like Taz with him gives himcredibility right off the batum. And also
if you just watched him in theladder match, he was just destructive.
Um, he's got an F fivein the bag, but it's a release
F five. Um, he's gotyou know, the power bombs. Uh.
You know, he's just a reallyrugged type of competitor. Looking forward

(33:30):
to seeing a lot more from himbecause there's just like a mystique about him
right now. M and his firsthis honestly his first singles match or his
first you know, pay per viewsingles match is gonna be with John Moxley
because he won the Casino Ladder Match. So they're gonna go edit it fighter

(33:50):
Fest for the world title. Um, the Casino Ladder Match fell a little
short for me. There were somethere were some good spots, like dark
he killed himself like three different times. Uh. The skateboard spot was cool
where he went through the ladder andthen he got thrown at a ladder by
Brian Cage um, which was reallycool. Uh. I thought that the

(34:15):
standout star this was actually kept SabianUm, who's the super bad guy who's
with Penelope. I thought he wasthe standout of this. Uh. I
it just it probably didn't have thesame pizzazz that it would have if Phoenix
was involved. That's that's where I'mat there. Uh. Orange had some

(34:37):
really good parts, Like I knowyou hate him, but but he he
was trying to reach the the casinochip without a ladder. Uh. He
was asking people how to win thematch. Uh, which is pretty It's
pretty good, uh and pretty onpoint and pretty on par with the with
the gimmicks. So I really loveit Orange just being Orange. Uh.

(35:01):
The other thing, uh, asI said before, Sheeta and Rose was
my match to the night. Uh. This was physical, dude. I
wish that WWE had a dominant heavyweight, Uh, you know, woman like
Nila because Nila just delivers, likeI've not seen anything bad from her.

(35:22):
Um, She's really good with hercues. Uh. She is able to
sell well. She is able tolike really really physically look intimidating, uh
and delivers everything like ruthlessly. Meanwhile, Sheet on the other side, she's

(35:44):
more finesse, She's uh, she'smore adaptable. Um. Sheeta ended up
getting the wind by the way.Um, but it was a really good
contest. Um. I think itwas the better match of the Women's Championship
in the World Championship. I thinkit was honestly the better match Mockx and

(36:07):
Lee. They they did good.Uh, it just wasn't what it was
hyped up to be for me.The cool spot was Moxley getting the paradigm
shift on to Brody and then theywent through the ramp. That was nice.

(36:27):
Um they did they did the theclear blade spot or whatever, and
then Mocks actually ended up choking himout. It wasn't even he didn't even
beat him with the paradigm shift. He kicked out of the paradigm shift.
Um, but they had him winby Brody passing out, didn't kick out
like one or something. Yeah yeah, yeah. They made Brody look,

(36:49):
you know, very strong there.Okay. Uh. Multiple thoughts on stadium
stampede. I thought this was awesome. I really did. Uh. It
was very creative there were everybody gottheir shine and I think that's very important.
Um they didn't, you know, just have someone watching, you know.

(37:10):
Um. First things first, AdamPage having him come in with a
horse like five minutes late was awesome. They redid the Sammy Gavary getting chased
down by a cart, which wasreally good. Uh. The gimmicky one,
you know, that was a littlea little corny for me, Like
they had Santana and Ortiz fighting MattHardy and then like Matt Hardy like changed

(37:35):
gimmicks throughout when he was getting drowned. Also pretty with everything that just happened
with Chad. Oh yeah, Ididn't even think about that. Um,
so they had that they had uh. I think that My favorite part was
when Hangman was in the bar andthen Jake Hagar sat down and joined him

(37:59):
for a drink. They both theyboth just took a drink and then they're
like, all right, you wantto do this all right, and then
they just ended up having a barfight. Kenny came over and helped him
out. It was just really goodseeing Hangman back. I missed that dude,
Uh, he's just he just gotthat it factor for me. So
they ended up beating up on Jake. I thought that the Bucks doing a

(38:25):
moonsalt off of the field goal postwas very creative and awesome. They also
had one of the Bucks jumped fromthe stage or the stands through a table
that was on the field. HJericho had a Judas effect on the Jaguars
mascot, which was really good.Matt Jackson was hitting a Northern Light suplex

(38:50):
on Sammy Gavara for the length ofa football field, even though you know
they cutting away or whatever, butlike it was really it was really creative.
They Adam start at the one endof the field and then all of
a sudden they were at the fiftyyard line, and then they were at
the you know, they got intothe end zone, so they treated like
a touchdown and then Matt started dancingand celebrating in the ref threw a flag

(39:16):
on him for excessive celebration, andthen he ate a superkick. There was
a point where Jericho almost pinned Iforget who he almost pitied, but he
almost pinned one of the members ofthe Elite, and then Aubrey Edwards counted
a two and Jericho demanded a challenge, so they went in a challenged booth.

(39:38):
He had the challenge flag on him. It was really funny, you
know. They didn't take it tooseriously, and then again, that's what
you like about these matches. Theydon't take themselves too seriously and they can
still deliver really well. I believeit was Hangman that came out with the
line marker for the field and heran it over Chris so Chris had a

(39:59):
bit white stripe going down him.Um. Like, there was just so
much that was good. And thenthe spot with uh Omega putting Guvara all
the way down with the one wingedangel was just devastating looking. It looked
really good. Um, and thenthat's how they got the win So Stadium

(40:22):
Stampede. I. I really likedit. Um. I don't know if
you can recreate that again with anybodyelse, because there's just a very unique
group of individuals with with amazing talent. Um. But it did his job
and it definitely deserved the main eventout of the whole card. This wasn't
particularly like the best pay per viewthey've put on, but it was it

(40:45):
was solid, like I'll give ita three and a half out of five
type of thing. Um did thejob and there were, you know,
enough moments where it was it wasgood. Okay, that was a handful
mouthful. UM wanted to discuss howthe Revival or i should say FTR,

(41:07):
made their appearance on Dynamite. Solisten to this. We had a truck
pull right up to the building, right on the outside and in denim jackets

(41:30):
a la Scott Hall and Kevin Nashand blue jackets on. That's awesome.
How don't you like that? Sowhat happened was they came up, drove
to the stadium, got up outof their car while the young Bucks were

(41:52):
getting beat up. Young Bucks aregetting beat up. I forget which which
but it's it's beside the point. But oh it was maybe a Santana Ortiz.
But they beat up that tag teamfirst, and we're kind of protecting

(42:13):
the Bucks. And while they're protectingthe Bucks, then they kind of teased
debt, Okay, this is gonnago down. So it looks like we're
gonna end up having a feud betweenFTR and the Bucks, but it's gonna
be one out of respect. Ithink it's cool because they both brought up
their tweets from like four three orfour years ago about how you know,

(42:37):
save this tweet FTR and the Bucksare gonna gonna wrestle one day and it'll
be great, and both of themtweeted the same thing. But I thought
it was really cool just to seethem on there and I missed Surpervival,
man. I mean, I knowit's not the Revival. They're known as
Dax Hardwood and Dax Hardwood and CashWheeler. I believe it is m tr

(43:00):
uh. It apparently means fuck therest. That's what they're they're going with
there, because it was Fear theRevolt before, but no, it was
it was, but now it's changed. It's changed because they're there, and
that might be it still might meanfuck the Revival, but it's standing for

(43:22):
fun the rest on the and thet shirt. Um thoughts. I know
that you don't. It gets annoyingto see WW talent jump ship. But
in this case, the way thatthey handled their terms. They served out
their contract, they requested their release, they were finally granted their release,
and now they went somewhere that theywanted to go. Um feelings on uh

(43:46):
FTR being in aw and um,just how stacked that Tag Division is now.
I mean, I'm glad for thembecause they were getting just so poorally
fucking used ever since they came upfrom NXT. So I'm glad that they're
out of WWE and they can finallylike because you know, they're amazing wrestlers.

(44:07):
I'm glad they can finally like dostuff again. Yeah, they're still
using they're still using the shatter machine. They hit the shatter machine and then
they hit a spike pile driver aswell. Um, I'm lucky. I'm
looking forward to it. They're they'regonna create some great moments there. Um.
And and you know that they hadthey had to have had a great
relationship with a lot of people thatwere in management there. So, um,

(44:30):
I think that's a really good moveon the part of All Elite.
And uh, it's it's it's fun. I mean, I know, I
know, it sounds kind of kindof weird. It's fun to see you
know, different things like that happenor or you know, like when Brody
went over and then Matt went overin the same night. Now you see
the revival over there. I knowa lot of people don't like to say

(44:51):
that it's you know, like peoplein WW that didn't work out or that
or you know like that are justlike it's like a retirement home or whatever
like that. It's not. There'sthere's still a lot of young talent that
that's that's making it there, andit's like a it's like a melting pot
almost, like if you see BrianCage and there, Brian Cage was like
the TNA champion. If I understandcorrectly, I was gonna say when you

(45:14):
went from there's a lot of youngtalent over there doing stuff, I was
like, do you want to transitionover to Chris Jericho versus Mike Tyson.
Oh god, okay, yes, let's let's say our piece on that one
trash. This is an example,Yeah, this is an example of where
AW does things incorrectly. Now,before I say this and before I do

(45:35):
kill it, I will say thisonce. Good on them because they got
publicity? Yeah, well did they? Though? Is anybody what do they
say? What's the saying? Nopublicity is bad publicity? Because listen,
you have all these social media videogoing around of Mike Tyson saying I'm back,

(45:58):
I'm back. He though, Butpeople. They I think wrestling companies
need to realize that that dude islike really awkward and weird when you put
him in scripted segments. Agreed,But just just bear with me here.
So you have all those eyes onTyson's return. Okay, what'sn't Tyson's next
move? Okay, now he's goingto present the TNT Championship. He didn't

(46:20):
do a thing. He didn't doa thing at double or nothing. All
he did was stare down Jake Robertswhen he tried to interfere with a snake.
Is it so he's advertised that hewas going to be on the show
on Wednesday and we still didn't seehim until the final segment. I was
like, Okay, Inner Circle helda Pep Pepper rally, which was actually
quite entertaining. I'll give him that. Jericho and the Inner Circle stuff is

(46:43):
really good. Um, but thisis where it kills me. So yeah,
you have eyes on your company now, Okay, you really do you
have eyes? When I'm getting updatesfrom sports companies on my phone and I'm
getting pushed notifications with sports companies onmy phone about where Mike Tyson is,

(47:05):
You've done a good job even ifeven if it's crap, but but but
but but big butt, are youreally gonna base this feud of Chris Jericho
and Mike Tyson from an episode ofRaw ten years ago in the long Lost
Land of guest Hosts? Like that'swhere you know, that's where it is,

(47:32):
right, that's the basis of thisfeud. Yeah, I know.
And it's also because their encounter wasbeat for beat Tyson in Austin. It
really was. And I'm not gonnalie when I heard when I heard JR
on it, I'm like, whatthe hell are you're? Am? I
living in uh And it's a inyour right, it's a worse version,
it's a watered down version. AndI don't know what they're gonna do with

(47:54):
this um And like you said,Tyson's just really awkward in that ring.
By the way, that shirt musthave been really well woven, because Tyson
could not get that thing off.He was trying to rip it, like
literally for twenty seconds straight and itjust looks so bad. But I was
like, damn, that's a reallygood job on aw shop, Like they

(48:16):
really you can't tear that thing off. But you know, they ended up
spilling it out and then they hadto get the you know, the superstars
to hold them back quote unquote,And it looks like those two are gonna
be sparring verbally. I don't thinkthey've got the gall to actually put Tyson

(48:38):
in a ring. Maybe they'll dosomething as an enforcer. I saw a
rumor that maybe Henry Sujito is gonnabe transitioning into the world of wrestling from
MMA or boxing, MMA, whateverit is, that he was involved in
some type of combat sport. Maybethat's there in you know, like who

(49:00):
knows that. Like Tyson came outwith a bunch of people behind him,
and there was this one just idioticlooking dude with terrible face paint. I
don't know if you saw the pictures. Yeah, he looked like the zombie
from ECW. Yeah. But anyways, like he was with a crew,

(49:21):
So we'll see what that crew askedto do will be Maybe there's a feud
between them and the in your soI don't know. I don't know,
because they didn't really address it toomuch. Uh yeah, I don't know,
but it looks like this is gonnabe a summer summer thing that might
last a little while because we don'tknow when Fighter Fest is. They just

(49:42):
said it's gonna happen sometime this summer. They really haven't given a date.
They just said it's gonna happen sometimethis summer, so they don't know yet.
Probably safer that way, No,yeah, for sure. Um,
but I just thought it was funny. That's the way they put it.
They're like, yeah, they're gonnahave fighter Fest. It'll be sometime this
summer, like literally word for word. Uh. But yeah, that's what's
going on in the world of adub And I know that Marty didn't really

(50:06):
pay attention much to it, butI thought that it was important to put
it out there because there was alot of stuff that happened there, um,
raw stuff. Just real quick,I just want to say, they're
advertising Rayma STEREO's retirement coming on Monday. That's not gonna happen. Seth Rowlins

(50:27):
is involved in a feud with himright now. Seth and his you know,
Messiah character, which he's killing itby the way, he's outstanding doing
this stuff. Um. I don'tknow really what kind of faction that you
want to compare that too, maybelike legacy or something. Even though there's
not like second generation superstars in it. But like Theory and Murphy are clearly

(50:47):
like his one and two. Um, maybe it's like you know that what
was the Edge the Edge group calledI forget it wasn't just Edge, right,
but you know what I mean, you know him as a mentor.
It's like he's the triple H Nowis what I'm going for? Uh there's

(51:09):
yeah, backlash is happening way downthe line here. They're still you know,
advertising the Edge orton Best Match Everthing. Um. By the way,
before Charlotte atter win on Wednesday, she did lose. She didn't get
pinned, but she did lose amatch. She shouldn't know that. Okay,

(51:30):
Nijack's number one contender. I knowyou're very excited about this. Yeah,
great, let's have her injure morepeople like she just did Takyrie saye
yeah no, I can't wait tosee that on Monday. Good god.
Uh oh, big news. ApolloCruz United States Champion. Finally pulled the
trigger on him, finally pulled thetrigger on him. And good for him.

(51:51):
Man, that's a that's a hardworking individual right there. Very happy
for him. Okay, That's allI wanted to say on that SmackDown of
course coming up. But we can'ttell the future. So I'm gonna pull
up our brackets, finish us out, and then get you out of here.

(52:15):
I think that we're on the rightside with four matchups, right we
are. We're on the right sideof four matchups, and then our elade
eight will be set. That iswhat I'm seeing. Markup zoom in Okay.

(52:40):
My one in four matchup, theRock versus Chris Jericho. It is
impossible to have the Rock lose thismatchup, even though Jericho is has much
more longevity, it is impossible totake out probably someone who changed the game

(53:04):
on the microphone, like completely changedthe graam agating the microphone like there and
and not only that made wrestling mainstream, as did the other one seed on
this side of the bracket. Ihave Rock versus Punk okay, and we've
seen this, yeah, but I'mI'm gonna take punk over Rock, okay.

(53:30):
Um. I feel like literally thatsummer of punk like rejuvenated me with
wrestling, and it was an outstandingsummer. It's something and and just it
brought it blurred the lines and Ithink that's what was cool about it,
and like for the entire time thatPunk was in the company, he was

(53:52):
doing my favorite stuff, so Ijust have to go with that. And
I'm still pissed off that he lostto the Rock, so I can't have
it. You know, my favoritestuff with my favorite stuff with Punk was
actually a match that he lost, and it was the stuff with the Undertaker
at twenty nine that was my favoritestill should have been the one to end

(54:12):
it though. It should have absolutelyshould have absolutely Okay, Uh, this
next one, I have a threeseven matchup. I have Triple H versus
Mick Foley, and wow, theseend up just kind of blurring together like
perfectly, so Triple H actually endedmcfoy's career. Um Adder's request, Um

(54:36):
god, this one is really tough, because oh man, this is hard,
This is really hard. I gottago with Mick really over Triple H,
over over over H. Yes,because actually Triple Han Bork and that

(54:57):
just reminds me of the Summer Slamor the WrestleMania where he had the white
powder all over and I actually I'mtaking Triple H over Bork. Okay,
So I mean I would take work, but Triple H had you know,
everything with three Dax and then hisfeud, Witchhun Michaels and yep. So

(55:20):
remember I had the upset with Mickbeating Bork, so upset here with Mick
beating Triple H. It's just there'sjust an inherent badassary about Mick Foley and
he doesn't need to tell you likethis, dude. It is literally the
underdog of all underdogs. He wasn'tin amazing shape, he wasn't very fast,

(55:47):
you know, like, but heconnected with you on a different level.
At least he connected with me,And like, it's just I can't
got Triple H is a legend too, man, There's no doubt about it.
But there's just something about about Mickand his just grit that just speaks

(56:12):
to me. Okay, to thebottom half. One seed Stone, Cold
Steve, Auston, four seed,Andre the Giant. That's one of the
easier ones of this around for me. Mine is also not that hold him
on luck on my phone again.Mine is Austin versus Batista. Again,
not hard for me. Gotta goAustin, Gotta go Austin, Gotta go

(56:34):
Austin. And I don't really thinkthat needs much explaining. Here's mine,
I got Sting versus the Undertaker, something that should have happened. It honestly
should have happened. Should have pulledthe trigger on that a little while go.
Maybe it happens in the age ofthe cinematic match. Who knows,

(57:00):
maybe not, But I've got togo with Taker here. I have AJ
and Taker, and I took Taker. There we go that all right?
AJ meets the finish line going upagainst t Yep. I have an interesting
Elite eight here. I have afive seed to three seed to one seed

(57:22):
to two seed on one seed toseven seed to one seed to two seed.
Yeah, I got Brett versus Seawan, Michaels, Kurt Angle versus John
Cena, Cmpunk versus Triple H andStone Cold versus Taker. Gonna trigger some
people with that first matchup. Ohman, I will read you my matchups

(57:44):
next episode where we will be inthe Elite eight and we will narrow it
down to our final four. Ithink that sounds like a good plan.
So let's save those results there, and that's all I have to talk about.
Do you have anything left to talkabout their marty in the world of

(58:05):
wrestling? I do not u onemore thing to mention here. Untimely of
course, after Shad Gaspard passed away. It was only a few days later
that Hanna Kamura, a wrestler inJapan, passed away. And I just
want to sell our heartfelt condolences andbasically say that people suck online. Don't

(58:32):
let it get to you, andif it does get to you, reach
out to somebody. Where I standon this on n x T yeah,
yeah, it was during EO's entrance. Yep, twenty just twenty two years
old, is just in it's unexcusable, Like you just can't can't really put
that one into words, but ourheartfelt sympathies and condolences to family of Hanna.

(58:58):
All right, Uh, I willleave it to you, Marty before

Pima pants because that's where I'm currentlyat. We've been doing this for like
an hour. I was waiting forspensor for like half an hour, so
you know, I haven't gotten upin a little bit. I drank a
