Working Hands Captivating. Insightful. Raw. These are a few words used to describe Joshua Jarman's songwriting and performances. With performances that each seem personal and unique, Joshua is known for engaging a crowd and gently ushering them through the pains and triumphs of human emotion... at least as he sees it. Treating the acoustic guitar like some forgotten limb, Joshua unveils percussive qualities of the instrument, plays the rhythm structure, and creates lead lines all at once. No loops. One take. His ability to do this while singing leads some to remark his music as surreal. Especially when seen live. Minor chords aided by the thumping heart of the acoustic guitar accompany Joshua's impacting vocals. A conviction that can heard and felt by the listener. Joshua regards this style of playing to the influence of artists like: Jon Gomm, Newton Faulkner, or Andy Mckee. He quotes his muse as 'The benefit of all beings,' and dedicates his work to the relief and understanding of human suffering. "There are reasons that my songs are sometimes sad. Depression has been no stranger to me, nor those around me. But, the Blues are medicinal in music because they are relatable. You never know what healing powers a song can have on the mind. Because music has done so much for me, for my mental health, I owe it to the world to sing these songs." Joshua is an Award Winning Charleston, SC local who has been featured on Fox News, ABC News, Balcony TV, 9 to 5 Magazine, Fix FM and even at local schools. His performances and hosted events numbered over 250 in 2017, helping him gather product endorsements from Shubb Capo Company and Nicola Brand Strings.
