Som en av få nu levande konstnärer har Ernst Billgren fått en egen utställning på Nationalmuseum i Stockholm, Sveriges största konstmuseum. Utställningen har mötts av hyllningar och uppskattande recensioner, bland annat i Kulturnytt på Sveriges Radio.
I 40 år har Ernst Billgren varit en av Sveriges främsta och mest omtalade konstnärer.
Resan dit är fascinerande. Med en mamma som beundrade honom och gav honom stor frihet, en styvpappa som inte mindes hans namn och en biologisk pappa han aldrig träffat. Ernst Billgren själv har i stället odlat en alldeles egen form av självständighet.
