people from my studio in Brazil. My friend and business networking partner Kudania Aj

(00:22):
joins us again for Chat number ninefrom New Delhi, India. AJ hosts
the global podcast show The KAJ MasterclassLive, helping people learn better earn better.
Today's Chat number nine with Aj wherewe always talk about what we always
talk about, business opportunities, andnow we're going to talk about the upcoming

(00:43):
exhibition and conference Indiasoft twenty twenty four, the twenty fourth edition in January seventeen
to nineteen in India. Welcome onceagain to this very special series on India
and Brazil on the kJ Masterclass Liveevery fortnight along with my steamed friend and
podcast host Tom York. You cansee him on the screen he is smiling.

(01:07):
We explore together our nation's journeys inbusiness, culture and politics as well
as podcasting as we strive to findour routeful place in the double arena and
Tom is joining us live from Campinas, Brazil. He has spent his whole
life there. He's an American knownin Brazil as King of Multicultural Communication and

(01:30):
Networking with a we have the experiencein market development and product management across DABS
businesses. Tom is the founder andhost of three business podcasts. He's a
public speaker and also an author. His deep expertise and extensive network provides invaluable
insights into Brazil's giant MAK landscape.Welcome to the show once again, Tom,

(01:53):
Hey Jay, thanks again for havingme. It's always great to be
chatting talking about business opportunities between Braziland India. Absolutely absolutely, and today
we'll be talking about India's Soft twentytwenty four Business Beyond Boundaries and that is
going to be held in Ulai,Indiaga, imagaon seventeenth to nineteenth January in

(02:17):
next year. So want to understandfrom you, Tom, what is it
that you see for Brazil in thatevent and then we will come down to
India. This is a big event. A lot of you know, interest
is there, so a lot ofpeople will benefit from that event, India
Soft event for the general public, you know, we'll be putting out the

(02:38):
links for joining from the Indian sideas well as brazil side. From the
Indian side, this is the eventlink. So tell us a bit about
the interest that it has gated inBrazil. What do you think Brazil can
make from this event? Wow ajWe've talked about this before of what and
how Brazilians perceive India and opportunities forbusiness in India, so it's been part

(03:04):
of our other chats, but definitelythe technology industry has been a highlight when
when you talk to general Brazilians,Brazilian business people, even myself. For
years, technology has been a focuscoming from India. So the competencies,

(03:25):
the areas of development have always beenstrong. We've mentioned others like recently both
automobile, building, pharmaceuticals, otherthings, but the technology and this India
Soft it's its twenty fourth edition,so this has been going on and looking
specifically at the focus sectors which willbe covered at this exhibition. They all

(03:53):
run across what's happening today in Brazil. So we're looking here and I want
to show it's artificial intelligens robotics, smart manufacturer, big data and analytics,
fintech, fintech in Brazil. InIndia, you pay everything is being paid
right here and we become cashless societies. So blockchain health is a growing need

(04:21):
here in Brazil. Noting from thehealth standpoint, but how do you grow
the technology side of that? Soeverything again is being connected to that,
So into the focal point cloud computing, cyber security. I recently interviewed a
person on one of my podcasts andshe prepares persons to be members of boards

(04:45):
right And one of the things shementioned when I says, what are the
skill sets for persons wanting to beon a board today, she said,
a skill set for a board membertoday has to pass through cyber security.
And I found that sort of asurprise. But then when you think about
it, ransomware and everything else inthe world has becoming an everyday event.

(05:08):
So from a corporation, from acompany standpoint, you really need to have
an understanding of cybersecurity, agrotech. We've talked about agriculture, which in Brazil
is growing. That's one of ourhighest collaboratives of our national gross national product
is the agriculture industry. So it'sacross the board. Solar energy talk,

(05:29):
software development, web mobiles, that'sthat's the rice and beans of every day
here in Brazil, all right, but there's always something new coming IoT edge
tech, right. Education is nowbeing driven towards technology at all levels here
we talking about primary college, whatever, Security electronics drones. Drones are everywhere.

(05:56):
Almost everybody has one, you canbuy one and you can use them,
and so this type of technology, this covers all segments of brazil economy.
So from a Brazilian standpoint, theinterest from Brazilian companies to go to
India to take a look at theIndia soft and see what's available is very
strong and a driver to that. Here in Brazil, we have the India

(06:19):
Brazil Chamber of Commerce all right, well established, highly connected in India,
and they're leading a trade mission. So the India Brazil Chamber Org will be
taking participants from Brazil. And aswe've mentioned in other chats of ourselves,

(06:39):
most Brazilians don't speak English. Sothe advantage of being in a trade mission
sponsored and coordinated by the Chamber isactually to create a group to have persons
who have Brazilians will who have alot of insight into India, into the

(07:00):
industry, to be part of thistrade mission. To do the footwork before
going right, to prepare the Brazilianbusiness persons of how to better take advantage
of a trade show. Obviously bethere in presence to set up meetings with
Indian companies and persons, and thenafter the show to help with the follow

(07:21):
up really to help generate or totransform leads into business. So that's happening.
So from a Brazilian standpoint, myrecommendation to our Brazilian listeners is to
look at this very carefully, andit's the best way to go. Because
even for me, if I wereto go to India by myself as a

(07:43):
business person, I can say it'sdifficult because I would call Ajaj I'm coming
all right, and I'm sure ajwould help me. But to be part
of a structure of a mission,it's more profitable, it's more practical,
and it's more objective you'll come awaybecause all exhibitions are large, lots of

(08:05):
people, thousands of visitors, Soto help focus and come away objectively with
results, that's importance. So Ican't over highly state that of how Brazil
should be able to and I'm talkingabout Brazil anybody in the world, and
I've seen there are over seven hundredforeign missions the go to INDIASOFT. So

(08:28):
literally the world is looking at thisevent and we'll be going to the event.
So the need to go with someonehelping in the organization I think is
a no brainer, right right right. In fact, more than a thousand
information technology and technology companies are convergingthere and connecting with each other. And

(08:54):
this is this becomes a big platformfor you know, a large number of
international delegates. It's at a pertfor business alliances, get first on information
about latest innovations. And you know, this is this is a good opportunity
for a lot As you said, initially, we have shown about this link
about this event link and for peoplewho are who want to register from Brazil,

(09:18):
uh, they can do this throughthis this particular link through the India
Brazil Chamber dot org. And thisis this is what I think that can
be helpful. Wes. I guessthey can also directly go there, but
I guess this has much more somesomethings in in the in the Portuguese language
that will help them, you don'tunderstand it better and get information the way

(09:41):
they want. And I just wantto mention together with that link, they
will find the page. Obviously mostof the informations in Portuguese, but they
will also see two of the personsfrom the local chamber. One is Pegro
Gadelia and the other is Mota.Guillermi. Mota has years of experience with
business in India, right, sothey both do have international experience and they're

(10:05):
members of the Chamber. So boththese persons, Pedro Gadeli and Guillier Mimota
will help lead this trade mission, and obviously the structure from the Chamber not
only here in Brazil, but moreimportantly the structure the infrastructure they have in
India will be hosting all right andhelping in the local logistics, the planning,

(10:31):
some of the transportations, some ofthe participation in the events that circulate
around the major event. So it'sI would say, it's the way to
go, absolutely absolutely, and forpeople's people who want that link directly clickable
link, then will certainly put itout in the show notes as well as

(10:52):
YouTube description in some times so thatthey can that that will be helpful for
them to directly get to the websites. Now, this is a big event.
This is a big event happening nextyear from seventeen to nineteenth January.
And this also gives an opportunity seeinformation technology. Everybody knows about artificial intelligence,

(11:13):
all these things. Technology. Informationtechnology is growing at a very fast
pait in India also, as peopleknow already, India has a good resources
and level of understanding about information technology. A lot of Indians are outside,

(11:33):
you know, adding value to alot of global firms in India. Also,
this is growing at a very fastfait. And to help people understand
India's information technology including the business processmanagement sector, it's as much as two
forty five billion dollars at the momentand that constitutes around you know, around

(11:56):
seven point four percent of the GDPas for the latest and later on it
is going to be you know,it is it is going to rise to
a much much higher level as thebecause India is also growing at a very
fast weight. In fact, youknow, it is good. It is
predicted that India will be five trillioneconomy by twenty five, twenty six and

(12:18):
seven trillion economy by twenty thirty. So that's that's what the website also says.
So these are all great opportunity andit will become the third largest you
know economy in enjoy by twenty thirty, so you can understand how India is
growing and what role almost ten percentof India's GDP and will be part of

(12:43):
the you know, growth of India'sstory, Indian story will it and BBM
Business Process Management will be a partof this. And in this new year
when we'll be talking about this, you know, India Soft twenty twenty four,
then I think all these things willbe at the back of the mind.
So it's like a first early movementadvantage. You get into this and

(13:05):
be a part of that big storythat India is moving towards by twenty thirty.
This is what I say, anda lot of you know, and
that is where a lot of interestshould be there in India. As I
said, more than a thousand companiesboth from information technology and technology sectors.
This event has been sponsored by governmentindustry and also you know, co hosted

(13:26):
by the Technology Park of India. And there are hosts of other information,
so much of information. I guessa lot of you know, the audience
who is interested will need to goand look at you know, shift that
to the website and find all thatinformation for themselves. One of the things
I've always been attracted to conferences andexhibitions. Obviously talked about the multiple focuses

(13:52):
of the business sectors. But whatI've always taken away from my visits and
participations in events are to focus onthe tendencies because obviously, many times we
will see what is happening, whathas happened, what's happening right now,
But tendencies and startups, smaller companieswho are coming with a new idea within

(14:16):
everything we just talked about, thatsometimes is the seed for business opportunity because
many times, as a small businessperson I'm including myself, we may think
we're too small to be a partof something. But I've always found there
is no such word as small asyou go by yourself. And what I've

(14:41):
always done is to look the curiosityof seeing, of looking, of touching,
of meeting people and seeing what theirnew ideas are. And many times
you see that and you will hearthat at an international exhibition like the INDIASOFT.
So there will be people established companiessaying what they're working on innovation.

(15:03):
I'm sure you'll find smaller companies withsomebody has a bright idea, younger old
Indians who have brilliant ideas, andso those are the tendencies and so those
are the opportunities that I see ofbeing small, starting small and becoming large
and becoming big, absolutely Tom.And you see the type of focus sectors

(15:26):
that this or a conference and eventhas can be of importance to a small
player in this in any of thesesectors or even the larger players. Artificially,
intelligence, we are now learning towardsbeen worth, you know, people
are getting attuned to that. Andyou see all these sectors blockchain, from

(15:48):
that to aggreeay to solar energy peopleare talking about, from animation, movies,
you know, gaming, yeah, you know, yeah, we are
virtual reality, augmented reality where andmobile apps. So there is nothing which
is not there for the practical wayof life that we are living. So
everything is there. And so evenan individual who is who has something to

(16:11):
do with anything related to information technologyand technology or any of these sectors,
would want to make the full benefitof you know, of all the of
events like this wherever it is now, this is a big opportunity. A
lot of people from Brazil, eventhe you know, the chamber has given
that link, so from there theycan connect with these people and their own

(16:33):
language but across the world also peopleare finding in such events, you know,
very very important and especially you knowafter COVID, much more world is
opening of people want to visit theseplaces and it will be in India.
It will be at a centrall relocatedplace, you know, the progative Maidan
which has yes recently held held theIndia International Trade Fair. So it's something

(16:55):
very closely located, centrally located andwhere anyone can you know, can just
you don't find it easy to reachan online. Also it's there so people
can connect how much they can benefit, they can connect with businesses across that
work. And when we've mentioned thisin our previous chats, and I just
want to bring that up of againbeing part of a mission of going and

(17:18):
we know you know that you're anIndian, how Indians are receptive all right,
Indians are receptive to foreigners. Andthere will be many companies going,
many persons going from a Brazilian standpoint, and we've talked about this on our
chats, the how do Indians dobusiness and how do Brazilians do business?
So just culturally being there and havingthat understanding is the first step of developing

(17:42):
new business relationships of being in Indua, seeing how Indians do business among themselves
and others. That's a learning experienceby itself, and that should not be
overlooked. The power of just beingthere, obviously with the group that can
help you and guide you. Ithink that's the best takeaway anybody could ever

(18:02):
have of going to an international exhibitionfrom again from the Brazilian standpoint, absolutely,
And you see this is that aftera long time now a lot of
companies will look at India as analternative to China because you know, with
the world situation, people looking atChina in their own manner, and because

(18:25):
India has got this got this strengthalso in terms of you've got competitive research
and development, labor costs, youknow, right, So you have got
all of these things in one place. So a lot of companies can benefit
from there from from this place. As a lot of people even in website
you see they get their website webdesigners from India because you've got that technical

(18:48):
knowledge here. A lot of peopleare into this sector. I think it's
an opportunity. I really think fromthe standpoint it shouldn't be overlooked and it's
time. January is from a businesssense it's the start of a business year
almost throughout the world. Absolutely absolutelyso, Tom, we will bring in

(19:11):
when this event happens, we'll certainlytry and bring as much as possible for
the audience. What exactly you knowwe could together with all this three day
event and bring that to our audiencefor this particular you know, particular show
you know, India Business Chat withTom and J. So we'll try and
bring that. So, Tom,if you have any final closing points,

(19:33):
please add that and then we'll gofor it. I just want to say
that we have a whole shopping listof opportunities to talk about, so our
chats in twenty twenty four will certainlyhighlight several of these areas that we've mentioned,
and we'll take let's say successful andeven nine successful segments from persons who

(19:59):
have vis visited and we can talkabout that in the future. Absolutely absolutely,
Tom and me will continue to addvalue as and when you know this
not only this event as a likeevents like this keep up coming with this.
It's set up on this very specialedition of the KJA Masterclass Life India
