Speaker 1 (01:21):
This is Freeze the speech personified, and I hope you
get more than you pay for it.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
When you listen to the Talk Radio Review.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Actually it's the Talk Media Review, because there's so many
different facets now to news talk, although we get started
talking about news talk radio, and that I think is
still the main core of our focus here on the
Talk Radio Review. Kevin Casey, who happens to be the
executive vice president just a he's not just a vice president,

(01:54):
he's the executive vice president of Talkers magazine. You can
find these lists all kinds of the news things that
are happening in the news talk world at talkers dot com,
the bible of the talk industry.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Kevin is here to discuss.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
The stories, the top ten stories on the charts, and
the people list as well.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
We're talking about the week of August eleventh to the fifteenth.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
And as we do this program, there is a summit
going on and the request from the Russians is give
us back Alaska. Okay, let's see how that works for them. Meanwhile,
let's start at number ten, Kevin Showy, and go through
these lists.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
We will indeed top stories of the week, as discussed
on news talk radio number ten, the Trump Lincoln Center
plans at number nine, Artificial intelligence at number eighth, DOJ's
Trump Russia investigation at number seven, Ice raids at number six,
a National Guard in Washington, DC number five, the Epstein

(02:58):
filesnumber four, the Israel Gaza war number three, Texas redistricting
battle at number two. This week, Trump, Tariff's economy, and
social security all tied there for number two. At number one,
Trump Putin Summit, and the Russia Ukraine War. The top
people discussed on news talk radio this week. JD Vance,

(03:19):
Barack Obama, and Joe Biden all tied at number ten
at number nine, Sylvester Salon and Gloria Gaynor at number eight,
Sam Alten and Elon Musk at number seven, Jijinping Nrendrum
Modi at number six, Christy Nome and Pam Bondi at
number five, Greg Abbott at number four, Jeffrey Epstein and
Gulay Maxwell at number three. Benjamin nettan Yahoo tied for

(03:44):
number two this week. Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelenski, and
at number one, Donald J.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Trump Yay, okay, the world be without Donald J. Trump.
I guess the question we can all ask ourselves.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I didn't ask if we'd better her off, our worst
off without him? I just said, where would the world
be without him? I have some very strong thoughts speaking
about the world regarding our number nine issue this week.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Artificial intelligence.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Is some really bad stuff floating around about that.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
And so we ought to get to it.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
But as we do this program, we're in the midst
of the conversation going on in Alaska. And one of
the things that I saw there were signs in Moscow
translated give us back Alaska, because the Russians owned Alaska
at one point in time. And so if we're going

(04:39):
to make them do whatever it is that Trump wants
them to do, or is a Linsky in fairness, they
say give us back Alaska, and not much chance of
that happening.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
But there is zero chance.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Zero chances of that, right, But how many people remember
that from history, taking American history or world history, understanding
the Aleutian Islands and as in all those areas, the
Bearing Straits all were part of Russia.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
At one point in time.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
And I remember that, Remember that, yes we bought Alaska
from Russia.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Yes we didn't just steal it like they're trying to steal.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
The price was good too, I don't remember, but it
was in the low teens millions something like that.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, it was like the Louisiana purchase. Some of our
better purchases over.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
The years have been Manhattan, the Louisiana purchase, and Alaska.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
There have been some of the better investments that we
have made in the name of expanding America. The cot
what do they manifest destiny? It was called yes, I
do our manifest destiny. We use some of those words
right now to declare our our spot in the world.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
We're better.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
All countries are created equal, but some countries are more
equal than others.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Using that as a reference to George orwell obviously.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Okay, So the summit can't talk much about it because
it's going on as.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
We do the program. So it'll be more of a discussion,
I'm sure next week. Although I do think.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
That the observations that have been made late in the
week about the Russians, just before the leaders of America
and Russia sit down to try to haggle out a deal,
the Russians have attacked again and they claim they should
take the thing is that one of the suggestions is

(06:31):
that Russia get lost, but you take some of the
territory you've you've got.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
They haven't they won anything, why should they get anything?

Speaker 4 (06:41):
Right? Well, I'm sure that that's what Voladimir Zelensky is saying.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Yeah, and that's he's right. You know what, here's something
to remember. Right after Trump.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Took office, for those of you who are in that camp,
Trump accused Zelensky of starting the war, and most people said, huh,
what are you talking about?

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Even the MAGA people said, what is what do you
you know.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Saying it's another one of these things when Trump says
whatever he wants to say and people take it as gospel,
and in fact it's just bs. And so it's hard
to know what to believe and what not to believe.
But that sure as heck wasn't believable. There's nothing that
you can point to that suggests that there was any
credibility to that statement whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
And hell no.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
I mean, we understand that Ukraine has resources that Vladimir
Putin wants. That's the reason he wants to of course,
we know that everyone knows that, right, and that's also
why he's not going to simply pack up and go
back to Moscow. That's not going to happen. You know,
how this ultimately ends. I have no idea. But you know,

(07:53):
if we think that Donald J. Trump is going to
get Vladimir Putin to just you know, pack up and
go home, I can't iagine what he could do to
make him do to make Putin do that. So we
don't expect that to happen. The question is is will
will Trump be able to get Zelenski to agree to
give up something, you know anything? I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah, well I wouldn't devour him, but then I'm not him,
and I'm not playing him on the radio. But I'd
stick to my the way they've beaten up on the
Russian toil the last two or whatever how many years.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
It's thing's been going on. It's you know, it's just
it's lust on the part of.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
He's it's hard to find the right word you can
use on the radio for Putin.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
That's me struggling.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
This is not a cable show, so I can't say
what I really want to say about him. So we'll
move on and talk about Caltron for a minute. This
is the weekend where you buy four and you get
four free plus a free gift.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Paselano over to toploss dot com, which is the website
for Caldron, and you can see how the program works if.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
You are new to it.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
I'd like to think that every time I talk about
this on the various programs that I do every weekend
around the country, that caltron is on the minds of people,
and if you haven't tried it, you at least know
about it.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
But if you're new to any of the programs and
you hear me talking about you'll say, what the heck
is that?

Speaker 1 (09:22):
So that's why I direct you to top loss dot com,
the website for caltron that explains everything there is to
know everything about losing weight, the simple, non toxic way,
the natural way, and more importantly, how to keep it off.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Top looss dot com works with the drugs, works on
its own. It's not a quick fix. It takes about
a month.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Or so for you see any difference in the ninety
day program or this four month program.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Here, the one hundred and twenty day program is.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
The way for you to really see results and to
feel good about what you're doing. So if you order today,
using the Doug code, dug you buy four and get
four free as I suggested. Plus you get a free
detox cleanser, and using the Doug code you get free shipping.
Nothing wrong with any of that, and really it helps

(10:14):
you get to the healthy self that you want to be.
Huge discount right now, say fifty percent with the bogo.
Go to toploss dot com and there's the amazing no
interest payment plan also AJA gonna get. You can get
started on the program and you can break down the
payments into two or three monthly payments. That's toploss dot Com.

(10:36):
All right, let's get to something else here. Kevin Casey
is here. I'm Doug Stephan. Kevin is the executive vice
president of Talkers Magazine. We're going through the charts from
the news, Talk World, and the Business about the redistricting
the number three item this week on the on the
list redistricting battle. You wonder why in the people list

(10:58):
Barack Obama made it on the list. Well, the reason
is that Obama has gone to Texas to help the
Democrats block the redistricting plan, which.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
I think is kind of clever. And he went late
in the week.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
I guess there was a virtual meeting that got this
all started. The Democrats, as probably most of you know,
have exited stage left to keep the redistricting. And then
the subtitle here, Kevin, the subtext is than in California,
Gavin Newso grand standard that he is, I says, Okay,

(11:35):
if you're doing it, Texas, will do it in California.
But the Californians are not so eager because it's more
complicated a redistrict in California than it is a redistrict
in Texas. Texas is very corrupt and it's easy to
get stuff done like this, and not that California isn't
really very corrupt as well, but it's a different kind
of corruption, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Well, I think that reached districting to you know, benefit
your party is not something that is the sole provenance
of Republicans. Democrats have done it too. Yes, you know,
the what's going on in Texas would, as you probably
are aware, would give the you know, Republicans about like
five extra houses extra seats. Yeah, yeah, which you would certainly,

(12:19):
you know, it's a buffer that they're looking for in
the House. So that's you know, not surprising at all.
We'll see how this goes. I mean, look, jerry mandering
has been going on since as we talked about I
think on the show last time, I was on going
on since, you know, just after the turn of the
you know, into the nineteenth century. So this is nothing new.
Let's let's see where it goes.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Yeah, well it is.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
That's there's nothing it's been said. Here's more true so
far this week on the program than that our system,
all of those who support it and I do, it's
the best system around. However, it doesn't mean it's the
best system. It just is the best one around. And
that doesn't mean that you entity isn't subject to lots

(13:02):
of corruption. The situation with the Epstein files number five
this week on the story list, I don't think there's
anybody around, even if you are a diehard Trump fan,
there isn't a person alive there's any common sense who
doesn't think that Trump and Clinton and probably a dozen

(13:24):
or two other very well known people aren't up to
their mickey in the Epstein thing. And so why we
continue to kid ourselves or we listen to some of
the rhetoric. But where does it go and what difference
does it make? Maybe is the question we all know
that these guys are full of themselves. We all know
that they are sex maniacs. So you know, what's so

(13:47):
Trump's up to his mickey? All right, are there other
reasons not to like him? Or that's maybe two like him?
What do you think, Kevin Well?

Speaker 4 (13:56):
I think that the issue here with the Epstein files
and regarding the people you mentioned is, first of all,
remember there were there were a whole bunch of victims
in the Epstein case, and at this point in time,
none of them have accused either Clinton or Trump or
any of the other people that we've mentioned so far
of any crimes. So because of that, there really is

(14:18):
not much likelihood that we're going to get a lot
of information. Now. People want to get the dirt, They
want to see exactly what happened there, because this is
you know, I mean, this is as tabloidy as it
gets right right, And and you know, some people, obviously,
you know, President Trump's enemies believe that he is probably
guiltier than sin his uh, you know, his supporters believe
he's probably not. But the truth is is that all

(14:39):
the people that we've mentioned had a relationship, and in
some cases a long term relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and
you know, obviously after what happened, they would all like
to minimize the exposure to that of that to to
the public. And but again like no one's no one's
accused Clinton or Trump of of anything except for you know,
having been in the guy's orbit. So you know, the

(15:01):
guy had a lot of people he was involved with.
Were they all guilty of, you know, hanging out with
underage girls? And you know, I don't know, and we
don't If we're saying that we should have Glaine Maxwell
tell us everything she knows and give all the information.
That's just not how it works unless a crime is committed,
and the public doesn't have a right to this information

(15:22):
unless it's part of some sort of investigation. You know.
I think I used the example a couple of weeks
and we talked about this. If you were to die tomorrow,
when people went through all your papers, the world wouldn't
have the right to know all of that stuff unless
there was some sort of crime that you were alleged.
You know what I'm saying here that that just you know,
just because someone dies, is we get to see everything
they ever did.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
That's it. In a nutshell, thank you. That's on your
epitaph as well.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
You can't see now right, that's it is Donald Trump?

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Trunk good, Doug. Is Donald Trump a dictator?

Speaker 1 (15:58):
There are those who have seen what's gone on number
six this week, the National Guard in Washington and the
huzzery that's gone with it.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
People really upset.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
But yet it kind of deserves that sort of attention, doesn't.
I mean, look at the crime spree in I'm not
saying that it's right or wrong, although I do tend
to think that it's Washington at the end of the
day will be better off.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
But what does it lead to the detractors say, oh,
he's a dictator? Okay, does it take a dictator? Straighten up?

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Why should the capital of the United States be the
capital of the country and also the capital of crime?
It doesn't seem to make much sense. But is this
the way to fix it?

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Is the question? And what are you hearing? What do
you hear to the ground there?

Speaker 4 (16:48):
Well, I mean I think the answer is is you're
right there there is a crime problem in Washington, d C.
Trump is not wrong about that. Question is does the
federal government have the right to say, hey, we're going
to fix this. All you guys are out, we're in.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
Well, and then there's the practical side of it that
I think we're looking at.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Let's fix it. It's twenty eight after the hour here
on the Countdown Radio.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
Countdown all across America and talk radio at the Voices
of Freedom.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Don't stop talk.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
That's the noise of Michael Harrison is usually here on
the Countdown with me. I'm Doug Stephan, but Kevin Casey,
the executive vice president of Talkers Magazine, is here with
this this week to discuss the stories, the issues, et cetera.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Et cetera.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
I'm going to step away from the top ten for
a moment and just I'm gonna.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Say something and hold my breath. The Little League World Series.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Is going on this weekend in Pennsylvania, and the people
who are running it have been pleading with the people
in Las Vegas and elsewhere not to bet on the
games because these are just children. Is there no sense
of shame? Is there no way?

Speaker 2 (18:13):
See my god? Yes or no?

Speaker 4 (18:16):
Yeah, it's pretty pathetic. If you need to bet on
the Little League World Series, I would agree with you
on that. Doc.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Yeah, it seems like hey, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah. All right.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
There was a conference this past week in Las Vegas
focusing on the future of AI and where it's going.
A lot of people, twenty five different speakers. I read
into and you'd probably do Kevin as what we do
for a living here, we kind of like to know
a little about a lot.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
And so I saw this thing.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
And I thought I'd read into it a little bit more,
and at the conference and then speaking at another conference
going on at the same time in Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
There were two AI conferences. One of them was.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Featuring people who see a bright future for AI. The
other one was a warning, disturbing warning. The Godfather, so
called godfather of AI, is a Nobel Prize winner named
Jeffrey Hinton, and he says that we're gonna get wiped out,

(19:22):
that AI is getting so super intelligent that it's about
to wipe out humanity. He says we might have a
ten percent on at beating it, but he says the
way it is going now that AI, unless it's given
maternal instincts, will wipe us out.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Now, think about.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
It, I thought, I was, am I really reading this
listening to Hinton or reading some of these stuff and
then watching a video. The mother baby relationship is something
that we can.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Teach e AI.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
So that they will have they be able to care
the carrying AI mothers. Most of them won't want to
get rid of their babies, and that would therefore they
don't want us to die because we've created them. I mean,
I could go on to this and it just gives
me a headache when I look at it. And maybe

(20:23):
even more than that, they're trying to find workarounds. Now
here's this stuff that we've created out of our own gluttony.
If you will, it's like the atomic bomb. After you
do it, you think to yourself, why the hell did
we do that? And now we're back to the greed
or whatever it is. Somebody's satisfying their own lists. I'm
so smart, I can create this, you know. It's it

(20:48):
is really scary. And the AI systems that are around
now have been proven.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
To deceive and to cheat and to steal.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
And they're just I don't even do they exist as
a machine or is just a computer just a screen.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
I don't even know.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
And when I think of AI and something that thinks,
I want to see something that moves, you know, like
the robots you see in.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Some of the movies and TV shows.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Sure, but anyway, thirty to fifty years so now this
guy says, it's reasonable to think that we would be
wiped out, so as that starting morning.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
If this is well, that's that's very interesting. It sounds like,
you know, it sounds like a science fiction clock, doesn't it.
Some of the best science fiction authors of say the
twentieth century, we're pretty prescient about the things they predicted.
Not everything that they predicted or foresaw, and they're thinking
about what technology would bring us in the future came
to pass, but a lot of it did. So you know,

(21:48):
the question is is are the people who are being
like those sci fi authors and you know, thinking down
the line, how is this going to actually play out?
You know, I'm not going to claim to know. I
don't know enough about how artificial intelligence integrates into every
aspect of our lives. As you were saying, you know,
you kind of expect it to manifest itself as as

(22:09):
an entity like a robot coming around saying I'm going
to destroy you, shooting you with a ray gun or something.
I mean, that's the most you know, simplistic form of
imagining it, But I think that you know how how
it will play out in the long run is is
certainly uh, it's certainly something we don't know yet because
it can be altered and it can be taught. But

(22:29):
all it takes is, I guess in theory one one
to go rogue, you know.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
But you can shut it off, you can destroy it,
you can put in a dump, you can crush it
in a crusher, you can throw a minithing.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Once something's been released via the internet, I mean, now, this,
this is this data, this ability to think, the create
the you know, the code if you will, to create
artificial intelligence. Once it's out there, it's out there and
you can't put it's literally like trying to put the
genie back in the bottle.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
So what do you think when you think about the future.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
I'm more worried about what human beings are going to
do than what AI intelligence is artificial intelligence is going
to do.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
I mean, can we right now, can we keep from
destroying ourselves without the help of AI?

Speaker 4 (23:20):
Exactly?

Speaker 1 (23:21):
I suppose that's a yeah, that's certainly a way of
looking at it that makes a whole lot of the
whole thing makes sense, but doesn't make sense you know
what I mean. The whole thing is like, you're gotta
be nuts.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
Speaking of that, President Trump has taken over as the
major controller of the Kennedy Center.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
He wants to change the name of it to the
Trump Center. Gee, what a surprise.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
And then he wants to nominate people that are his friends.
So the reason that Sylvester Stallone and Gloria Gaynor are
among the people on the list this week is because
they are two of the five people that have been
nominated by mister Trump to be the next recipients of
the Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Trump Center.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Whatever the hell it's going to be called. It's laughable,
But yet it isn't.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
I mean, there are people that the cultural to say
he's destroying something.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
I mean, the people don't like him. Some people love
this stuff.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
And is there is there an argument for making it
more about the common man rather than the people oftentimes
that are focused the focus of the Kennedy Center or
although I remember, I.

Speaker 4 (24:35):
Mean the Kennedy Center honors are for are for artists
and and performers. You know, I don't they're not common man.
They're they're you know, they're not they're they're performers, they're artists.
In many cases they're they're wealthy, you know, artists and creators.
So I don't know. I think that the goals to
honor of American culture and in Western culture, and I

(24:59):
don't know that you know that it's it's about, you know, well,
first of all, the fact that I'm not a huge fan.
Everyone has different tastes in culture. Let's just go back there.
Before we started talking about I said, I don't think
Sylvester Stalloan's you know, a great actor. He was very successful, indeed,
and I would never argue that. But would I consider
him like a Brando or someone like that? And the

(25:20):
answer is no. But but but does that mean he
doesn't deserve to be honored. I wouldn't say that he
doesn't deserve it. So, you know, I don't know these
things are these things are very subjective.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Yeah they are. And so you know, it's just we
don't like change. People don't like change. So to see
this being changed to the Trump Center or.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Whatever, I mean, we all know the guy's an egomaniac
and probably the most narcissistic guy that exists on the planet.
Having said that, you know, there are those who why
not call it the Kennedy Trump Center or the the
Lincoln Kennedy Trump Center or something like that. And then
let's go on to stuff that's a little more important.

(26:03):
Although some people may think this is the most important
thing around, I'm not sure that, Kevin and I think
it rises to that Caseion.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
Well, I think that depending upon it, like whether you're
a fan of President Trump or not a fan of
President Trump, I think that the test for everything that
this president and frankly every other president has done, needs
to be what would If you're a Democrat, you would think, well,
what would hould what would we say if the Republicans
did it? And if you're Republicans, you know the same thing.

(26:30):
For example, if if Joe Biden had tried to turn
it into the Biden Center, you can guarantee that Republicans
would have been apopleptic about that, right, But when Trump
does it, they're like, oh, isn't it wonderful? So, I mean,
this is the sort of the homersm that comes with,
you know, supporting your guy or gal as the case.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
Maybe yeah, you know, and there's a side And I'm
going to go back to the to the whole business
of politics and what you really can believe what I'm
thinking the image in my head as I look at
Obama and what he's doing with the Texas issue, and
Trump with what he's saying about Obama. I bring myself

(27:08):
back around to Jimmy Carter's funeral where Trump and Obama
sat next to each other and they more than appeared
to be having a very pleasant conversation, smiling at each other.
Trump was inviting Obama to come play golf at one
of his golf courses and all of that stuff. So
will you wonder how much of this is showbiz?

Speaker 3 (27:31):
Right?

Speaker 2 (27:31):
I mean, think about all of the issues. Is Trump
and Putin? Is this just showbiz? Are the tariff?

Speaker 1 (27:37):
Showbiz is the registrating battle, Showbiz is the war in
the Middle East, Showbiz is Epstein's.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Showbiz is the National Guard. I mean, you can go
on and on with this. It's maybe just showbiz.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
Well, I'll tell you this. The late great Frank Zappa
once said government is the entertainment division of the military
industrial complex.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Uh huh, there we go. I have not heard that,
but I will remember it. Let's repeat repeat that. Will
you please repeat that?

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Frank Zappa once said government is the entertainment division of
the Military Industrial Complex. Wow, some people would agree there
you go.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
I think a lot of people would agree with that.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Kevin and Doug here on the countdown with another focus
on Caltrin for a moment. There are lots of reviews
that you can read. You can understand the science, the
very simple science behind this all natural product by going
to the website toploss dot com and you can order
to your heart's content the Caldron special deals that every

(28:41):
weekend will show up there. Sometimes you get other things
beside caltrin, other products from these folks. The top of
the world producers have garcinia in their toolkit. They have
detox complex in their toolkit always that will support you
losing weight the natural and keeping it off.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
So why not go there right now?

Speaker 1 (29:03):
If you need a re up, you can use the
Doug code Doug and get whatever the best deal is
this weekend. But don't let us sit there and think, oh,
wait a while, maybe there's something better. There's always something
good and you can check it out and feel good.
That's the important thing. You get better and you feel
good when you go to toplass dot com com. Say
it again, Doug, Toplass dot Com for Caldron.

Speaker 2 (29:25):
So the ice raids.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
That we have been seeing in Washington sort of gone
hand in hand with the new takeover of the National Guard,
but they also are continuing in California right at the
heart I've talked about this on the program I do
the American Family Farmer, because it's affected farming so much.
At what point is there enough or is this again

(29:51):
we're back to showtime showbiz.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
Well, that's a great question. I think there are people
in especially the heartland, which holded for Trump, whose industries
are being, as you are well aware, are being dramatically
affected by the ice raids. In fact, there's a clue example.
They're an example of a I believe it's a beef
plant in Omaha which has basically been shut down. The

(30:14):
business has basically been shut down because the operator, the
owner of the business, can't he doesn't have staff. So
and these people voted for Trump. Now, you know, so
I don't know when when this is going to get
back to him that what he's doing is negatively affecting
American businesses. They're not going to like that. I can't
imagine they're going to support him, you know, in his

(30:36):
policies ongoing.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Or his parties, yeah right, or his party yes, all right, Kevin,
thank you for being here. Kevin Casey, executive vice president
of Talker's Magazine. Up next, Stephen jj Wiseman on the countdown.
Doug Now with the Stephen jj Wiseman, who is our

(30:58):
legal authority, And I want to start with the DOJ's
Trump Russia investigation, which is number eight.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
On the story list. What really is going on here?

Speaker 1 (31:07):
And is this confuses people because they don't really know
where Russia is not our friend and Trump tries to
make or used to try to make like Putin was
his friend. So what's what are we trying to accomplish here?

Speaker 6 (31:22):
Well, we're not trying to accomplish anything, but it's kind
of it's kind of typical with what Trump has done.
First of all, he well he was running for office.
He was alleging that the Biden administration in the Obama
administration had weaponized the government against him, which was not accurate.
And one reason I can say that, why you know,

(31:43):
I believe me, was when they did the investigation of
Russian interference with the twenty sixteen election, which was done.
The question was was there any connection with Trump in this,
and so it was investigated, it was determined that they'd
have some meeting, but there was no collusion there. So
he took this as he's being punished. So now he's

(32:05):
trying to bring this up the investigations, saying that the
intention was treasonous. Now, one reason I could say that
I'm fairly confident in these days when you're trying to
decide what's misinformation and disinformation is there was by partisan
investigation into the Russia Trump connection and the Justice Department's

(32:25):
role in it and whether indeed democratic administrations were trying
to get them and they found absolutely nothing. So here
the news is going to be that he's alleging this
and people are going to remember it. It's kind of
like when you see the apologies that and retractions in
a newspaper. Well, people freely see the apologies and retraction

(32:47):
in the newspaper. They see they see the charges that
are brought, and then that's what sticks in their minds.
So this is just more of Trump trying to distract
the public from things like the Epstein papers and again
weaponize the Justice Department.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Well about weaponizing the National Guard, Well, they have weapons,
so I suppose they've already been rep weaponized.

Speaker 6 (33:13):
Yeah, they do have weapons, and that's part of the issue.
The National Guard has never been really trained for domestic issues.
And here again this is where you know, shame on
Congress because the Trump is trying to use the emergency
powers to go into LA and now to go into
Washington and take over I mean in Washington d C.

(33:34):
Their their crime rate has actually gone down precipitously in
the last couple of years. You know, you can always
point out, you know, some horrible crime that happens absolutely anywhere,
and he's using this and Congress is just sitting on
their posteriors and not doing anything. One judge has taken

(33:55):
a position so far, and they're being it's being argued
that the administration doesn't have the ability to change the
police chief in Washington d C. Trump does have more
power over Washington d C than he would in LA
because Washington d C is essentially a federal futurity. Yeah,
so he does have some control there. But the idea

(34:17):
of hauling in the National Guard because somebody is jaywalking,
which is about the equivalent here, is ridiculous. In another distraction,
but they.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Were jaywalking in California and they spent about two months
worth of stuff for nothing.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
I can attest to that. I can't tell you.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
I've been in Washington for a while, but I was
in Los Angeles the weekend of this the first weekend
of the event, if you will, and an establishment there
was a block away from where.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
All the action was supposed to be. Nothing zero. There
was nothing going on. Nothing, I mean nothing going on, yeah,
nothing nothing nothing, all right?

Speaker 1 (34:54):
Quick comment about the redistricting battle in Texas. And this
is like both sides are doing it and they haven't
doing it because they're corrupt, yes or no.

Speaker 6 (35:04):
Yeah, And this has been something that's gone on for
a while, and now California is saying that they are
going to redistrict in response to what was going what
is going on in Texas and what will go on
in Texas. Supreme Court is pretty much in the past
had decisions of you guys decide this isn't a federal question.
Leave it up to the states. Whichever state a party

(35:25):
is in, uh, you know, has control the other ones
that are kind of try and redistrict.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
The word from Stephen JJ Wiseman as we end this
