Monday and that forty happen quick, boys, quick, I'll take that.
Gotta take what you get around these parts library.
Speaker 8 (02:10):
That's a one.
Speaker 6 (02:14):
Time to reuse recycling.
Speaker 8 (02:18):
Make it enough forty points on the board. Cowboys have
that right back.
Speaker 9 (02:26):
Let me take that.
Speaker 8 (02:27):
Yeah, I'm gonna take that back night a little bit.
One hundred yard rusher, oh yeah, one hundred.
Speaker 7 (02:32):
Yard receiver, Yeah, another eighty yard receiver, George Pickens, you
should have had one hundred yards if you count pass
interference penalties.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
He always give that exactly.
Speaker 8 (02:40):
He's been phenomenal in that regard league in it.
Speaker 7 (02:43):
Then you turn around you have Dak Prescott, who was
dealing doing his thing offense.
Speaker 8 (02:48):
Lead.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:49):
We gotta start the show by talking about one Cowboys defense.
Speaker 8 (02:56):
If they're serviceable, they will win football game.
Speaker 9 (03:02):
The Cowboys defense.
Speaker 7 (03:02):
The Cowboys de run by one Matt Eberflues, Matt Eberflus,
he made the adjustment.
Speaker 9 (03:07):
He did it do his own coverage?
Speaker 10 (03:09):
Uh?
Speaker 8 (03:09):
Not as much?
Speaker 6 (03:12):
Yes, No, I have temporary you know, memory loss issues.
Speaker 8 (03:15):
On this show, specifically for those for.
Speaker 6 (03:18):
Those that are listening, you know, ore, who do we
call our family talking cowboys friend cowboys family?
Speaker 3 (03:26):
I believe when we're giving scouting reports throughout the week
and we're informing you know, our listeners, and I think
we alluded to the changes that would be uh play
a key role in this Dallas defense being successful.
Speaker 6 (03:42):
Can you guys remind me did we talk about man
a man a little bit? Can we talk about bringing
additional blitzer a little bit?
Speaker 8 (03:52):
And that happened a little bit.
Speaker 6 (03:54):
It was effective, It was sticky.
Speaker 8 (03:58):
What is this voice talk about lint? You know, being
in lint in somebody's pocket.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Perhaps a lot of third down situations yesterday, third and
longs Yeah, would you say contested passes, force turnovers, turnovers perhaps.
Speaker 6 (04:19):
Smack sie.
Speaker 7 (04:25):
Strip sack?
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Would you say, thank you?
Speaker 6 (04:31):
Okay, I want to keep it.
Speaker 7 (04:33):
No, And that's that's what happened. It wasn't perfect, but
it was dog gone good. And if you're playing good football,
epis right there.
Speaker 8 (04:42):
There you go.
Speaker 7 (04:44):
If you're playing good football on the defensive side and
giving extra possessions for your offense to take advantage of,
that's the change in the football.
Speaker 8 (04:52):
That's all you need, especially with the way this offense
has been playing.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
Yeah, I see a lot of our family are saying
in the cha No, see what you got to punish
your shirt on. Well, that's because that's what the Cowboys did.
They went full Frank Castle on those guys yesterday, and
we finally get here, you get to sit here and
say that the defense also joined in on said bullying activities.
Speaker 9 (05:16):
My word, So I know full Frank Castle.
Speaker 8 (05:20):
Well, I liked it.
Speaker 9 (05:21):
I loved it till I loved it.
Speaker 6 (05:23):
I'm right, damn smack in the middle of my right mind,
if you know, you know, it felt so good to
see it.
Speaker 8 (05:30):
So I know.
Speaker 6 (05:31):
There's so many goal post movers. I mean, you guys
could could work for the NFL grounds crew the way
you're moving goalposts nowadays. Wow. But at the bottom line,
is any football listen, perse nickity, listen the Cowboys defense. Yes, yes, true,
multiple things can be true at the same time. Yes,
(05:52):
the Washington Commanders were without Terry McLaurin, and yes they
were without Deebo Samuel and I hear you when that
it's one hundred percent correct, But I checked, and I
just checked again this morning because I want to make
sure that I was in fact right. Dab smack in
the middle of my right mind. One of your all
pro corners wasn't on the field. Okay, your second string
safety wasn't on the field one year Thomas. He had
(06:14):
my grains last week and it kept him out of
this game. Okay, So you had a second year cornerback,
seventh rounder Traquezy Bridges, who you, guys, most of you
didn't even know, was on the team his first NFL start.
Speaker 8 (06:29):
And by you, guys, who are you talking to, I'm talking.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
To the few people this shoe shouldn't fit. Make sure
you tied up real nice. Okay, you didn't know who
your Queasy Bridges was. You didn't know who Elijah Clark was.
A rookie, undrafted player. He got some rotation at safety,
one of the most important positions on the defense that
keeps giving up chunk.
Speaker 8 (06:51):
I was impressed with what he did. I'm excited I've
gotten through the first half of film.
Speaker 7 (06:55):
I'm going to go back through the second half where
the defense really took over the third and I'm gonna
go look at it, but so far, so good. I
think Clark played well. Yeah, minimum snaps. I mean, he
didn't play a ton, but he.
Speaker 8 (07:05):
Was out there.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
And I got some notes here, Luke McCaffrey, that's the
third round pick, right. M Oh, we give a lot
of a lot of heat to our third round pick,
Jayleen Tobert for not stepping up. Sure, Oh okay, so
give that same smoke to Luke McCaffrey, especially since he
was going against hmm no second year, seventh round pick
who just started for the first time. Let's give that
a shot. And then where was this grace this whole
(07:29):
Oh well, they didn't have McLaurin. No grace for Dak
Prescott and the Cowboys when Ceedee Lambis three games. You
know why there was no grace giving because offensively, no
grace was needed because Dak Prescott. But on what did
he do? He had Jaalen Tobrick getting seventy yards to
help avoid a loss in against the Packers with the
toe drag on top of that, and then in the
next game you walk to New York and you walk
(07:50):
the New York Jets with Ryan Floyway having a breakout
game one hundred and fourteen yards.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
I don't know, man.
Speaker 6 (07:56):
I think they say elite quarterbacks are supposed to make
their receivers better. I think that's what they said. So
you're telling me Jane Daniels isn't elite he can't make
his receivers better against the statistically worst defense in the
league that also was without an all pro corner and
also on a third arguably a fourth string safety plane
some reps as well. I'm not trying to hear. What
(08:16):
I am trying to hear is the fact that Matt
eber Fleus when he said nothing was off the table,
that man was a man of his He meant it.
He went out there and he ran man coverage and
almost forty eight percent of the time he did almost
forty eight percent.
Speaker 8 (08:29):
That's compared to of what we used to see. Far
as a huge imp improvement in that regard.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
It looked huge great. Was it perfect? No ospres took
a little too long to get there for my liking,
but eventually it got there. He started to send an
extra blitzer, Shama Shama, And then what happened when the
Shama got the oh it was a fumble recovery. But
to Davion Clowney, who also, by the way, had his
first sec with the Cowboys, and then Donovan Zrokuo, he
(08:58):
got in on the party guy two club forty one.
Speaker 11 (09:03):
Speaking of when you're considering the science lad that we
were talking about last week, and how yeah that seeds
to step up to maybe just be like a mid
level defense and I don't know, force if you turn over,
make a couple of big plays, then don't break situation.
Speaker 9 (09:20):
My goodness, guys.
Speaker 11 (09:21):
And it wasn't a time and possession game really, but
consider the clock drain because we did our thing. The
Dallas Cowboys did Isaiah stand back.
Speaker 6 (09:32):
There you go recovery.
Speaker 11 (09:35):
It was a good game, it was. It was a
really good game. You barely one time it was a possession,
but that's all right. I didn't care for that first drive,
just five plays touchdown. I was like, all right, guys,
what are we doing? Did you not listen to me
on Friday?
Speaker 8 (09:47):
And everybody else did? And they scored on one play
on a drive, I mean, what y Yeah.
Speaker 6 (09:51):
They seventy four yards, so they spit in his face
on that thirty five Yes, exactly.
Speaker 8 (09:55):
Yeah, and then they go down right before halftime and
they throw it all.
Speaker 7 (09:58):
That's Undervonte Tiams was like, the hell with you. If
you want to move, you're right, You're right, no moving goalposts.
We talked about winning time of possession. Now we're making
a stand. You gotta win time exactly.
Speaker 11 (10:08):
But to be fair, really quickly, if we're talking about
get your popcorn ready. The last one, which was kind
of for whatever reason overlooked last week, guys, killers of
the Fowler Moon.
Speaker 6 (10:20):
That's true.
Speaker 11 (10:21):
Jaydan Daniels sacked three times or twice I said three,
but granted he was hurt in the third quarter and
also forced fumble.
Speaker 9 (10:30):
I don't know, it's just that prediction that was correct.
Speaker 8 (10:35):
That could have Yes, Isaiah stand back.
Speaker 6 (10:38):
You mentioned forty eight percent. Man the man with a
huge uptick in the coverage.
Speaker 8 (10:42):
I love it. I'd like to add a little extra
to that.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Okay, Cover three oftentimes can be perceived as cover one
outside of the fact that there's four underneath cover guys,
mostly the linebackers aka those guys plus strong safety rolled down.
Speaker 8 (10:56):
In the box.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
So oftentimes three can look like one and play like
one depending on the route concept. If you were it's
a factory in cover three and categorize it along.
Speaker 6 (11:07):
With cover one.
Speaker 8 (11:08):
Okay, you're over eighty percent yesterday.
Speaker 9 (11:11):
Jeez, that seems good.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
It's a bob.
Speaker 6 (11:14):
That's great, Bob, that is great.
Speaker 8 (11:17):
I like that.
Speaker 9 (11:18):
Yeah, I like those words.
Speaker 8 (11:20):
I like those words. Just say we're loud today.
Speaker 6 (11:23):
I like it.
Speaker 7 (11:24):
And with all of this to be said, the offense
still elite. I think we kind of knew that going
into the week. That was the whole conversation, Like that was.
Speaker 9 (11:31):
The biggest argument.
Speaker 7 (11:32):
The biggest argument is the offense is elite. They get
Ceedee Lamb back and boy, there is no uptick. There
is no problem with what happened with Ceedee Lamb and
George Pickens and back in the fold. On the same field,
Cavante Turpin got involved. Jake Ferguson still did his thing.
He had two touchdowns in the red zone. He's becoming
a web red zone weapon. Offensive line looked great. How
(11:53):
many times was Dak Prescott sack yesterday?
Speaker 6 (11:56):
Saddle?
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (11:57):
How many times can you sadle? Is that zero? In English?
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (12:01):
Okay? Interesting?
Speaker 7 (12:02):
So with all that being said, offense still their defense
stepped up. They weren't perfect, but they stepped up that
all to say, Patrick, you got your.
Speaker 8 (12:11):
Sign you ready? I am ready for that.
Speaker 6 (12:14):
Let's just go ahead and get this.
Speaker 7 (12:15):
Let's just gohead and get it out of here. This
take does not imply that the Cowboys will win.
Speaker 8 (12:20):
Does not a super Bowl.
Speaker 10 (12:21):
It does not.
Speaker 8 (12:22):
It does not imply that that's the case. Yes, Isaiah,
stand back.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
You know we have a love hate relationship with next Gen. However,
I'm going to use it to prove a point today.
Speaker 6 (12:33):
You love it today today.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
Win Playing two high safeties yesterday, uh huh, Cover four
the core, the Little Washington Commanders had one hundred and
twenty seven passer rating.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Okay, win.
Speaker 6 (12:50):
Playing Cover two the Commanders had eighty eight passer rating.
Speaker 8 (12:54):
It's a big difference, too high safeties.
Speaker 6 (12:57):
Drop it all the way down those single high covers, now, Kyle.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
When playing Cover three yesterday, they had a sixty four
passer rating.
Speaker 8 (13:05):
Wow, it's getting the lower.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Versus Cover one that they had a forty eight passer rating.
And that's a lot of man and press single high.
The highest passer rating they had was sixty four highest
versus two high safeties one hundred and twenty seven, just say.
Speaker 8 (13:25):
Keep an eye on it.
Speaker 7 (13:28):
All right when we come back here on Talking Cowboys?

Speaker 7 (13:47):

Speaker 1 (15:54):

Speaker 7 (15:57):
Back here on Talking Cowboys. It is a victory Monday
is a forty burger Monday. You're Talking Cowboys. Glad you're
with us with Patrick no C Walker, Josh Rodriguez and
Isaiah stand back, Chris Beam in the back. We do
have some smelly stickers coming up in the next segment.
We got some brand new smelly stickers. Yeah, it is
(16:18):
a fresh new batch. They're gonna be nice to scratch
and sniff. I can't wait to open these up. We
had one of the family members send these. I'm looking
for the DM that sent these or the email or
whatever it was. If you sent these to me, I've
lost it. It's been a while. Go ahead and send
me another message so we can give you proper credit.
(16:38):
Because it's really cool and these are great.
Speaker 10 (16:40):
This man.
Speaker 7 (16:41):
Yeah, so these guys were awesome and we can't wait
to use them. Coming up in the next segment. With
that being said, we talked a lot about coach Eberflus
and the adjustment that he made on the defensive side
of the football, the response by this team going from
week six to week seven, it felt like a completely
different ball club. And being in the stadium yesterday, I
(17:02):
mean Isaiah can speak to this because we had a
couple of conversations about it. But the energy in the
stadium was not the same as what it has been,
especially compared to that Packers game.
Speaker 8 (17:14):
And was it surprising, Yes, it was very surprising. It
was an amer America's Game of the week.
Speaker 7 (17:18):
It was kind of a It was a decent crowd,
wasn't a perfect crowd, but the atmosphere just wasn't electric
like we've been used to seeing as a part of
the stadium. And at times in the game even it
was quiet. But once the Cowboys got going, the crowd
came back to life. And I think it was a
residual effect of what happened in Carolina. I think it
was the way that Carolina We're going to get exactly.
(17:41):
The fan base was was KOI. It was Koy fan
basey Isaiah Coy, Isaiah Coy fan base after that Carolina game,
and then they clicked in the.
Speaker 8 (17:50):
Gear as soon as the team did, so it was
that CD touchdown.
Speaker 7 (17:53):
It was certainly I thought that was the case because
even after the opening touchdown, you immediately get a stop,
you're loud about it, and then the punt drug paulls
your back. You go down and give up a safety,
and then you give up a touchdown. It's like, oh
my gosh, we touchdown was a huge.
Speaker 9 (18:07):
Doron plant pain. Great idea.
Speaker 8 (18:09):
Listen, that was uh, scootmaker was scoony SCOONEYO. They put
school on the Scoomaker on doron paint.
Speaker 9 (18:14):
That's either way. Maybe a tight end maybe not a
tight end on der on pain.
Speaker 6 (18:18):
I don't like that. Yeah, I don't like them.
Speaker 8 (18:20):
Not fun.
Speaker 6 (18:21):
They just never do that again.
Speaker 7 (18:22):
But how much credit does coach Schottenheimer deserve for taking
Coy fan base and getting them back on the game,
taking what happened in Carolina and putting it in the
review mirror this week to have the type of game
that they did against Washington yesterday really quickly.
Speaker 9 (18:36):
In the chat, Pete Candela is the one that sent you.
Speaker 8 (18:39):
It's Pete.
Speaker 7 (18:40):
Okay, thank you, Pete, I'm gonna find your your messages,
then go ahead and send me one just in case.
Speaker 10 (18:45):
Go for it.
Speaker 6 (18:46):
All right, I'm gonna jump right in. This is going
to piss Andre off because Kyle asked me a question,
So I guess I gotta talk. Sucks to be you,
doesn't it.
Speaker 10 (18:54):
Now?
Speaker 8 (18:54):
You're being Patty today?
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (18:56):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
I like it.
Speaker 6 (18:57):
Bottom line is, give shut. I'm a ton of credit.
Give eber Flus a ton of credit for being willing
to listen and being willing to be malleable as far
as you know, he's hearing his players say to him
both in front of the camera and I'm sure a
lot more behind closed doors. They want to see more
man covers. They want to see you know, certain skin
(19:19):
schematic changes. Send more guys. Don't just trust the four
man front when you know that that's not getting home.
Send another guy every once in a while. So you saw,
I'm not going to say a full scheme upheaval, but
damn that did not look anything like the scheme we've
seen through the first six games. Now, credit that to
eber Flus, but also credit that to Shatenheimery is well.
Being willing to challenge Matt Eberflus to do such a thing.
(19:41):
We had a conversation on this show last week that
was like, Hey, is it time to fire Matt Eberflus,
And every single one of us said no, because it's
too soon. That's not going to change anything. What you
need to do is force him to step outside.
Speaker 9 (19:51):
And it's more than a Matt Eberfu's plot right problem
And then what.
Speaker 6 (19:54):
Did you see yesterday? Right? Half of it was schematically changed, fixed,
and then the execution was there.
Speaker 11 (20:00):
At first, he didn't feel like that right away though,
especially one of over zach ERT's wide open touchdown, Like,
to me, that was a schematic failure.
Speaker 9 (20:07):
I don't know if that was on Shamar James. I
don't know if that was on K nine.
Speaker 11 (20:10):
But you see something like that and you're like, oh,
here we go, Like it's going to have to be
one of those things where the offense has a score
on every single position in order to keep us in
this game.
Speaker 9 (20:18):
That didn't turn out to be the case.
Speaker 11 (20:19):
And a big part of that, for me at least,
was the very next play after that touchdown, Deron Bland
to fight in this entire game. This is like twenty
twenty three Deron Bland at his all pro caliber. It
was an outstanding game for Deron Bland. And you saw
it the entire game, not even including the pick six,
(20:40):
which was legendary.
Speaker 6 (20:42):
Before they got it. Love. You had the stop on
the two point conversion, amazing. You had at least two
stops in open space for third down stops to keep
those those chains from moving drag, and then he added
the pick six. But let me say this, and I'm
gona thor to Isaiah because i just want to know
how good. What I'm about to say is go you
feel okay? Are Here's the Washington commander's result of each
(21:04):
of their offensive possessions. This is not going to sound
like the Cowboys defense did this, but old boy punt touchdown,
zach ertz okay, So punt, touchdown, punt, punt, turnover on downs,
punt touchdown, end of half, fumble, lost interception, pick six, touchdown,
turnover on downs, punt. If you give me a defensive
(21:25):
effort like that every week and production maintain your offensive productivity,
I'll take it. Fight the sky is absolutely the limit.
Speaker 11 (21:36):
But you have to consider, and I know this is
going to be brought up when you're just Devil's advocating
for against the Cowboys.
Speaker 9 (21:43):
Excuse me.
Speaker 11 (21:44):
They didn't have their top three receivers, that's understandable. Yeah,
you also didn't have your top receiving or secondary out there.
That makes sense. It kind of is a wash at
that point. But when you consider Dallas defense getting stops period,
getting stops, Jade Daniels didn't look crisp out there. He
wasn't throwing great.
Speaker 8 (22:06):
He's beat up.
Speaker 11 (22:07):
He didn't have great throws out there, and the receivers
were not helping him. He had three drops in that
first half. It was tough to see the Washington offense
sputter as they did, but the Dallacy defense was opportunistic
at the very least.
Speaker 6 (22:21):
This coaching staff did exactly what it needed to do.
I mean, would you have loved to see it sooner? Yeah,
you don't want it to take seven seven weeks to
get there for you to get there, but you know,
better late than never, because you're still with that. You
are now in second place in the NFC East and
you have eleven games to play. What improvements do you guys?
Speaker 8 (22:43):
Truly?
Speaker 6 (22:44):
What am I missing? Yeah? What if you croomers, do
you guys, believe can still happen with the person that
you have. M Oh, you said need to versus can can? No? No, can? Well,
you know what I will say. Donovan is rock who
got the monkey off his back. So let's see if
(23:04):
his if he started to come in bunches. Now, Geneveon
Clowney looks to be finding his groove, so let's see
if those come in bunches for him. So there's there's
hope there. But I would still like to add something.
I don't know exactly what it is, but we talked
about it. It's putting on the GM hat. I would
still be willing to make a trade.
Speaker 8 (23:24):
Yeah you think, so what would you have?
Speaker 9 (23:27):
I think I had add a couple of forty burgers?
Speaker 8 (23:30):
Oh yeah, hey yeah is that right?
Speaker 9 (23:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (23:38):
We are so transitioning here did we take the white shot?
Speaker 6 (23:41):
Here? Beam he took the shot bread? I'm great, how
are you.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Or not? Not?
Speaker 9 (23:48):
Justus the bread.
Speaker 7 (23:51):
Who also had he also is a Georgia cat. Then
here's the thing, text Brett. Every time that we get
a forty burger.
Speaker 6 (23:59):
So i'd stop.
Speaker 8 (24:00):
Yeah, I know, I know, I've stopped, just asking what
I'm saying. You know what this Texas. That's what it is.
We have some breakfast burgers, oh my breakfast burgers for everyone. Yes,
and we also have some honeybur chicken billets.
Speaker 9 (24:11):
Oh yes, come on, come on, man, you guys one
of these hats.
Speaker 8 (24:17):
Yeah yes, oh yeah, I'm like I love it, so
I love it.
Speaker 6 (24:21):
Well, we appreciate you, guys, know, we appreciate you.
Speaker 8 (24:24):
Who wants a breakfast burger? Yeah, honey butter, you want
the honey butter chicken biscuit? Is that your favorite? To Mario,
you like the honey butter chicken biscuit? Honestly, so the
honey butter chicken biscuits is the most popular that we.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Don't Yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll shout out to water Burger
a little forty action.
Speaker 6 (24:40):
Appreciate you, Mario.
Speaker 8 (24:41):
Thank you, all right, Garrett, appreciate most all right. Oh,
there's a lot of breakfast burgers.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
This is it.
Speaker 8 (24:48):
Got the bag? Hey we have a forty burger song now, yeah.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
Phil's getting burried loud lady, what a burger?
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Forty burger grease that throwing lasers threatened needles in the lane.
Speaker 7 (25:11):

Speaker 8 (25:33):
You've got like a bridge here, very how about that?
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Hmm was awesome.
Speaker 8 (25:47):
Ki is the same dude.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
That's why.
Speaker 8 (25:50):
That sounds like something Isaiah would listen to just normally
on the way to work.
Speaker 9 (25:54):
That's a steadfast.
Speaker 8 (25:56):
You can put it in the gym.
Speaker 6 (25:57):
Yeah, yeah, that's.
Speaker 9 (25:58):
Ay at you chicken biscuits.
Speaker 6 (26:00):
This is what we're doing, all.
Speaker 8 (26:01):
Right, No, no, no, we need to watch the white
shots better.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
Yeah, alright, the one shot.
Speaker 8 (26:14):
Some good stuff.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
All right.
Speaker 8 (26:15):
We're gonna take our second break when we come back.
Speaker 7 (26:18):
We're gonna eat our water burger in the middle of
the break, so you don't have to listen to us
do that. But we're gonna have some smelly stickers, and
we got brand new smelly sticks and they're awesome.

Back here on Talking Cowboys, This segment of the show
is brought to you by Invisi Line, the official smile

it's brought to you by a Black Rifle Coffee Company,
the official coffee of the Dallas Cowboys. I hope you
took advantage of the promotion that they're going on right now.
Like that Black Rifle Coffee. You show up in your
(29:09):
Cowboys gear on game day and you get ten percent
off your entire purchase, right percent, ten percent. So you
had an opportunity yesterday. Your next chance is on Sunday.
Speaker 8 (29:20):
Every little bit of a Black Rifle Coffee company get
ten percent off. Boys, let's go. It's on game days.
Speaker 7 (29:27):
On game days, all right, it's time for a little
bit of smelly sticker at you. But before we get
into smelly stickers, I've got a little accountability.
Speaker 8 (29:36):
Oh, a little bit of accountability.
Speaker 6 (29:38):
Okay, we do that here.
Speaker 9 (29:39):
Well, one person chose a loss last week, we.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Do that here.
Speaker 8 (29:42):
Let's not jump ahead of it. Let's not jump ahead.
Speaker 7 (29:45):
One person chose a loss last week out of this group,
and it was me, and I was hoping the Cowboys
would prove me wrong, and sure enough, they certainly did.
Speaker 8 (29:54):
So. I apologize for picking the Washington Commanders last week.
I didn't know you had it in yet.
Speaker 7 (29:58):
You were just coming off of a lot to the
Carolina Panthers where you gave up two hundred yards to
Rico Dowdle on the ground and through the air, So
I wasn't very excited about this matchup. And boy, that
that turnaround real quick. Congratulations guys, you had it in
you and now I think the hope is there for.
Speaker 8 (30:16):
The rest of the season. I can pick the Cowboys
again with some emphasis. We'll see if I do that
again on Friday.
Speaker 9 (30:22):
It's all about remaining consistent and doing that again and again.
Speaker 6 (30:25):
You just told Nate's mean, what's there. I'm sorry, I'm
familiar with your game.
Speaker 8 (30:29):
I'm familiar with your game. We did use memes on
pregame Live yesterday.
Speaker 7 (30:33):
Also had Dez Bryant crash our set like three or
four times yesterday.
Speaker 8 (30:36):
It was really funny. He was having a good time,
having a really good time, really good.
Speaker 6 (30:44):
It was fun, It was a lot.
Speaker 8 (30:46):
It was good to see Dez again and he was
he was very very cool. Yeah, yeah, make sure he's
all right today. I think he's good. He's good. All right.
Speaker 7 (30:54):
We've got some brand new smelly stickers. Want to shout
it out to Pete, and of course he was the
one that's in it as well. Go ahead and send
a message just as well. But these are really cool
and they're very unique. All of them are completely different.
Speaker 8 (31:07):
They so I like that We're gonna get to get
creative again here with some of these smelly stickers. I'm
gonna let Josh start it off.
Speaker 9 (31:15):
Let's kick us off, boys, kick it.
Speaker 11 (31:16):
So when we're talking about forty burgers, you got to
consider how those points are accrued. I mean, granted, the
offense was doing great, they were driving along, they were draining.
Speaker 9 (31:28):
The clock, if you will.
Speaker 11 (31:30):
One thing in particular about yesterday was Deron Bland and
able to make a forty burger a combo meal if you.
Speaker 9 (31:41):
Got the fries and you got the shake.
Speaker 11 (31:44):
Yeah, give it to Deron Bland because he had an
excellent game, like we talked about, say the two point conversion, Yeah,
pick six efficient tackler for me, drawn Bland all the way.
Speaker 7 (31:54):
We didn't talk about it enough. I think in the
early parts of this show he was playing before tackle.
I mean he was that's all the way through, I know.
But I'm just re emphasizing because he had an incredible game,
and I think people are gonna harp on the pick six.
Speaker 8 (32:09):
It was an incredible play, but it was before that.
He was all over the field yesterday and it was refreshing.
Speaker 6 (32:15):
Playing out of his mind.
Speaker 8 (32:16):
Yeah, all right, Patrick, your next no smell.
Speaker 6 (32:18):
Doesn't have the Burger smell. All right. So for me,
without spoiling these guys's picks, we want to give equal love.
The defense is going to get a lot of love
with these smelly stickers. I'm going to go ahead and
hop over to the offensive side of the ball. And
there are many choices, and I went back and forth
between at least two or three, you know, DAK and CD.
(32:40):
CD came back had zero Russ. But I'm landing squarely
on that dog. George Pickens. George Pickens gets the popcorn sticker.
Why because Absolute Cinema so an ode to Josh Rodriguez
this segment on Fridays, Get your popcorn. That's how why felt,
(33:00):
and I'm feeling now every week when it comes to
George Pickens, you never know what he's gonna do, but
you know he's gonna do something, and it's gonna before
I maybe it was a pre game dance. Yeah, the
huddle pregame huddle started there, And so popcorn because George
Pickens is absolute cinema. He was out there doing it.
Like Isaiah pointed out, he was doing it selflessly as well,
(33:22):
with the blocking and running his routes crisp, even when
he was the decoy on that particular route. And then
of course you had the fact that he was downfield
making those unbelievable catches regardless of the some lot the
sunlight couldn't even defend George Picks.
Speaker 9 (33:39):
Oh man, the sun deserves a smelly sticker.
Speaker 6 (33:41):
So popcorn for George Pickens, absolute cinema, Absolute cinema.
Speaker 8 (33:47):
All right, Isaiah just skipping over playing Well, it's because
I forgot who your guy was.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
I need you to go all right, here we go.
Speaker 8 (33:56):
You gotta see this right here.
Speaker 6 (33:58):
Is that a hot dog got a glass piece. This
is a struggle sandwich.
Speaker 9 (34:06):
For those that grew up, that is a piece of
white bread with a hot dog, and in poverty.
Speaker 6 (34:10):
The struggle sandwich is.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Struggle sandwich is when you don't have all the ingredients
to make it the way which you typically would make it.
You know what, You know what I'm saying. So why
is that that's a hot dog in between a piece
of bread? You got one piece of bread. It's the
in cap. Okay, this this, this is the tail end
of the bread.
Speaker 9 (34:26):
It's worse when it's the cap.
Speaker 8 (34:28):
Bro This is this is when you usually no, that's
not the incaps. Look it's it's got.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Metaphorically it is in cap. You got two pieces of
bread left and the thing and it's both in caps.
So you got two bad selections. Okay, So but the
main ingredient I'm dying to here with this is the
main ingredient is what the glazy and all that was
(34:55):
the struggle bread because these aren't his guys, but you
know what he made it for. So he took those ingredients,
he made himself a struggle sandwich that was satisfying and delightful.
And because of that, we're eating chicken biscuits from water
Burker this morning.
Speaker 6 (35:14):
That is the glazy.
Speaker 8 (35:17):
I'm gonna send this to him.
Speaker 6 (35:23):
Right there in the front. Baby.
Speaker 8 (35:24):
Oh yeah yeah, like the yeah sticks like these. This
show is the best thing, man, better than last year smelling.
Speaker 9 (35:34):
You're phenomenalre gonna get me fired, But I love it.
Speaker 8 (35:39):
Struggles sandwich the main ingredient.
Speaker 7 (35:41):
I don't know if Friday didn't get us fire, they
just haven't reviewed the tape.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
They reviewed the tape.
Speaker 6 (35:50):
Peter sent in the glizzy Oh goodness these Wow, it's
gonna be awesome.
Speaker 8 (35:55):
Yeah, I've got to like clear my tears here.
Speaker 7 (35:58):
Autorable mentions oh man, oh boy, along the same lines,
but not really.
Speaker 8 (36:04):
This week, for those that may not.
Speaker 7 (36:06):
Know, was the final week of the Texas State Fair
up at fair Park. This was the final week of
the Texas State Fair. And as a part of the fair,
you can get street corn. You get the cob and
it's got some yeah, I got a little low te
mix on top. That that that special stuff on top.
And if you look at a corn on the cob,
(36:26):
it's a lot of corn kernels put together.
Speaker 8 (36:29):
Right.
Speaker 7 (36:29):
It takes a complete corn on the cob in order
to pull all those corn kernels together. Right, that's what
this is. It's corn on a stick. It's corn on
a cop. Everybody's seeing a corn on a cop. It's
a corner, it's shaped like a corn on a cop.
But when you can put it together and get it.
Speaker 8 (36:51):
All working in the right direction, all of a sudden,
it's just a delicious treat. It's caught.
Speaker 7 (36:59):
I'm giving mine the Brian Schottenheimer for pulling this team
together and making something delicious out of a week seven opportunity.
And that's exactly what this is a little streak corn
action here. I'm talking cowboys for my spelly sticker today
and ode to the Texas State Fair. Got a chance
to go out there Saturday enjoy it.
Speaker 8 (37:16):
So it's one of a kind warning it's coming.
Speaker 6 (37:19):
Can we say that.
Speaker 7 (37:26):
It's from my twenty like twenty twenty one right that
it's been a minute, ye, corn on the cop.
Speaker 8 (37:32):
You guys are gonna get me fired this morning.
Speaker 6 (37:33):
I had a joke incoming.
Speaker 10 (37:36):
Do it.
Speaker 6 (37:37):
That's amazing.
Speaker 8 (37:39):
Nah, that is a that's a good one. That's ahead
to do a good one. There you go, street corn baby.
Speaker 7 (37:46):
Brian Schottenheimer gets my smelly sticker for pulling it all together.
All right, we've got a little bit of time left,
of course, everybody's probably happy about the win. If you're
a Cowboys fan, you've got a little bit of a
ruggle internally of how to see this forward. Right, how
are you going to handle what happened yesterday against the
(38:08):
good football team. I know they're banged up, but Washington's
a good football team.
Speaker 8 (38:12):
You get the win like that. What should the expectation
be moving into the Denver Broncos this week?
Speaker 6 (38:17):
I don't know what. It's gonna be a tough match,
and right the reason you don't know is because we
we We said this after after they went against the Jets.
The defense showed up in a big way. You got
five sacks on justin fields. You were able to get pressures,
you were able to stop the run, you were able
to run the ball. I am fully confident that the
(38:38):
Cowboys will continue offensively to do what they need to do.
It was a bad day off the office for the
rushing attack and Javonte Williams and getting that push up
front on the ground, but they corrected that, so that's
gonna stay correct. I'm confident in that. What I mean
when I say I DK, I DK about the defense,
Like can this defense do it? Two consecutive times. We've
(38:59):
seen them do against the Jets, but then they floundered
against Rico Delrico. Uh, and then they bounced back and
they did it against Jayden Daniels and Crosskey Merrit and
the Commanders just need to see if you can do
it against a Denver Broncos team that's going to be
more persistent in trying to establish the run. And then
bow Nicks he can he's a mobile guy as well.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (39:19):
And they're those guys in Denver. They're believing. Why are
they believing? Because they were getting wopped by the New
York Giants and came back and won that game thirty
three thirty two the fourth quarter.
Speaker 9 (39:30):
I don't have the fourth it was thirty three in
the last eight minutes of the game.
Speaker 6 (39:34):
Because you know that game was concurrent to all in
the fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
It's rough.
Speaker 6 (39:38):
So what I will say is what the Cowboys defense
needs to do is figure out a way to replicate
what they did against the Commanders. But also keep in
mind going against this Broncos team, especially in Denver, foot
to the floor, because if you allow this game to
remain anywhere within striking distance, they will do to you
what they did to the New York.
Speaker 11 (39:59):
Even if it's not within shrekking distance. Again, thirty points
in the fourth quarter, you have to consider that.
Speaker 6 (40:04):
But what a collapse.
Speaker 11 (40:06):
One thing the silver lining of this game. Granted, I
don't think the defense was as shut down as you
would like, but then again, it's like comparatively what they've
been playing over the past few weeks, compared to last week,
compared to this week, night and day. It certainly feels
that way. And a big thing for me, the silver
lining has been the turnovers.
Speaker 9 (40:25):
That was awesome.
Speaker 11 (40:26):
Forced turnovers, Doron Bland, defensive touch mar James, defensive touchdown.
Speaker 9 (40:31):
Keep doing those things.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
Well.
Speaker 7 (40:32):
Then you scored off of both of those turnovers, both touchdowns,
one of them a defensive touchdown. The other one was
a drive after the fumble that was recovered by by
Jadavian Clowney.
Speaker 9 (40:41):
Funny how turnovers result in points sometimes, certainly, and.
Speaker 7 (40:44):
I think the twenty two points on the board, you're
gonna look at that and you're gonna say, oh, there's
twenty two points there.
Speaker 8 (40:49):
Remember seven of those came in garbage time. You did
give up a.
Speaker 7 (40:53):
Two minute drill at the end of the second quarter.
That's something to keep an eye on and then off
of the safety and then the free kick. That opportunity
ended up in a score for Washington too. So, like
you said, not perfect, but you can still clean things up.
You're not expected to win every game forty four to zero.
You're gonna give up points, You're gonna give up drives.
I thought the way they spaced out those drives, yeah,
is what gave Dallas the opportunity on offense.
Speaker 8 (41:14):
To do what they did.
Speaker 11 (41:15):
Absolutely, and if you're able to replicate a performance like
that cleaning things up, and for Maddie refluse to say
I'm running more man because this is the result.
Speaker 6 (41:23):
This Cowboys offense is averaging more like thirty points a game.
So mathematically speaking, if you just hold the opposing team
to the twenties between twenty and twenty nine points, you're
probably gonna win the game, hopefully, hopefully, But also make
sure you got your oxygen mask ready, because that's another
aspect of it. In Isaiah can speak to it only
ever put on an oxygen mast. Right, It's not just
(41:45):
that it's not just that the Broncos are a challenging team,
it's that you're playing them in Denver, so altitude is
it's a real thing. Yeah, it's a real thing.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Yeah, for real, for real.
Speaker 7 (41:56):
I mean we had conversations about that the last time
we went, when we were in the preseason, and and
that was the case. And you see it everywhere every
time you walk into the stadium. It's there, mile high city,
like highest elevation above sea ba blah blah blah blah,
like they've got it everywhere.
Speaker 6 (42:10):
It's in the state that when you walk into the
locker roomkeet from the buses right there, it says, Altitude
sickness is a real thing. Yeah, it's you get tired
quick out there, and there's no way that you can
prepare for that.
Speaker 8 (42:19):
So it is what it is.
Speaker 1 (42:21):
You've got to be able to.
Speaker 9 (42:21):
Have your guys, need them all out there wearing Bain masks.
Speaker 3 (42:24):
Seriously, this is going to be I mean, obviously we'll
get into it as a week goes on, but this
could be a shootout. Man, do you think this could
definitely be a shootout? That means we talked about it
last night on the post game show. Sean Payton is
one of the most prepared coaches in the league, and
he has all his weapons.
Speaker 8 (42:40):
He has he has.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
I mean, you saw it on display last night against
the Giants. Buckle up, buckle up. It's gonna be gonna
do like that phrase anymore. I know we're dealing with
Hopefully hopefully you got tapped on the chin one time.
Hopefully you don't get tapped double tapa. But yeah, there's
a lot to get to this week in regards to
the Broncos. I wanted to will wait till tomorrow to
talk about mister Jones' comments, for one following the game,
(43:04):
