Speaker 5 (00:49):
Dallas Cowboy.
Speaker 6 (00:52):
It was a Vegas style beat down and Week eleven
of the NFL season thirty three sixteen. The final score
as the Cowboys take care of business. The new look
defense lives up to the expectations and they take that
defense from the Raiders that Isaiah Standback all of last
week on this show on Talking Cowboys labeled as trash
(01:17):
and took them out to the curb in Las Vegas.
Finals score thirty three to sixteen. The Cowboys get their
fourth win of the season. Happy victory. Tuesday, Cowboys Nation.
This is Talking Cowboys presented by Black Rifle Coffee Company,
live from the Star in Frisco, Texas, in.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
The SBC Studios.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Welcome in, everybody. We've got Patrick No C.
Speaker 6 (01:37):
Walker, We've got Isaiah Standback with Chris Beam in the back.
I'm Kyle Yeomans, glad you're with us, Hi gou welcome,
long time you'll see Bud.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah. No, we saw each other like six hours ago.
Speaker 6 (01:50):
Oh postgame coverage. I know Beamer and Patrick were just
getting off the plane.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
Fresh off of two hours of sleep. Yeah, but it's okay. Yeah,
when you walk going with that victory dub, quite the dub,
it's very impressive, very impressive, And of course it started
off with you know, very emotional, emotional tribute to Marshawn kneeling.
It was it was beautiful, and I want to say
(02:16):
a couple of things real quick to that. Number one,
the Cowboys having Marshan's jersey in his locker, having his
jersey on the sideline, the t shirts honoring him, the
helmet decals that they'll wear the rest of the year,
all of that was just beautifully done. And I also
want to give a shout out to the Las Vegas
(02:38):
Raiders organization for their tribute, not just with the moment
of silence and you know the Jumbo Tron tribute and
things like that, but their shirts, the nine eight on
the back and the call the audible on the front.
That was just absolutely fantastic as far as mental health
support and awareness goes. So again, very heavy hearts to
(03:00):
start the game. But they did exactly what they said
they would do. The Cowboys did. They said they were
going to go out and honor Marshaan by playing relentless football.
They were going to have high motors, high effort, and
you saw it. So not only did you see execution,
not only did you see scheme, but you also definitely
saw guys flying around. Talk about a guy like Malik
(03:22):
Hooker for example, you know, fresh off of IR Stint
only had a couple practices under his belt out there,
like his hair was on the fire.
Speaker 7 (03:31):
I mean, then you saw some of the we're getting
to it, you know.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
I'm working my way down, and you saw guys like
Kayln Carson. I'd be remiss if I didn't give Kayln
Carson his credit. He was He was really good in coverage,
he was excellent and tackling. And what did we say
that Cowboys fans had a question mark about Kalyn Carson.
It was his tackling. Yep, oh, he wanted to smoke
last night. And it went down from there. Linebackers, the
marioon over shown. Yes, Agent zero made his return. He
(03:56):
was flying around out there looking good, young man looking good.
And then that defensive line and I'm going to say
this name, and I'm going to throw it to isaiy
Quinn will you quinnen will quinnin a widio?
Speaker 5 (04:15):
Did he have an impact on the game.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
The biggest of anyone, literally on the biggest is the
largest of his career, the plug, the biggest largest. Everybody
else seemingly played better because of him. Everybody Kenny Clark
played better, also played better than defensive men's played better,
linebackers played better, guys.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Had more favorable matchups.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
It's because of him across the board.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
This isn't just like Isaiah, this is flex Isaiah.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yeah, you're talking.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
About the same Queen Williams that had eighteen percent pressure
rate on his pass rushes, the same Quinn Williams that
had one and a half sacks on twenty eight drop backs.
Speaker 7 (05:06):
Hmm, high of the season.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
Interesting, James Houston got a sack, right, that's James Houston.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
Davian Clowney was all over the place last night. He
played well.
Speaker 7 (05:20):
Interesting, guys, Just Jonathan got a safety safety.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
As a rock play. Maybe the team was just that bad.
Maybe they were just I mean they are, yeah, I
mean they're pretty bad. But we talked about that.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
I said that you can't move the goalpost now when
we had already we moved the gold pad that was
already that we already went Canada football and moved the
goal posts.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Okay, so we did that already. We already let the
people know. We told you that stopping that you know
they were talking about listen, but we told you that
their defense was trish.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
I told you that they were going to score for two.
They did it. Should have missed opportunity.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Yeah, by the way, yeah, you would want.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
To be that was not CD.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
That was the past. Listen.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
It wasn't a perfect.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
That pass if your CD, that boy was catching, that
boy dropped back and through the ball. It was a screenplay.
They both so they both do they both? Yes, ball
touches your hands. As a receiver, you're supposed to bring
it in. They got the button, but it was a past. Yeah,
they both with no pressure.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
They got the bread. They can get us.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Then, yes, unnecessary unnecessary screen played five yards down the field,
but no, listen, proud of what they did yesterday.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
I expected them to do exactly what they did.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
It was good to see offensively that US have a
balanced attack.
Speaker 5 (06:38):
Yeah, it was good to see that.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
It was good to see the productivity between.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Between Ceed Lamb and George Pickens and Ferguson being a threat,
being a threat in the zone. You know, he only
had sixteen yards receiving, but he had a touchdown. Like,
you don't have to be dominant, you just have to
be a threat. I think that shot he did offensively
in terms of the scheme allowed for everybody to win.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
I like that.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Defensively, yeah, I like that. I like those words. Defensively.
You saw that. You saw what these guys are capable of.
The We saw five, five to one, we saw four
to three, we saw a four to two five, We
saw all the looks. We saw every single linebacker. If
No C would have been labeled as a linebacker, he
(07:26):
would have been in a game.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
Every linebacker that we had played, yep, every single one
of them. And they all made contributions yep. And they
were put in situations to be successful based upon their abilities.
We saw the to begin the game, we saw Demo
and Murray and Mary's Leafoul and then we saw Logan
Wilson get in there. We saw Shamar James get in there.
We saw literally everybody and their mama who played linebacker
(07:49):
get into the rotation and their mama and defensive line
was fresh. Linebackers were fresh. This is what you want.
I know a lot of people are like lots of rotation. Now,
whether they were trying to see what these personnel groupings
look like together, or whether they were just keeping guys fresh.
I think it was a combination of both. Either way,
(08:09):
I can't imagine that anybody had more than twenty snaps
in terms of at the second level. They probably they
were all just rotating through. So it was good to see.
I was good to see Revel. I was like pleasantly
surprised by Revel. I had no I had zero expectations.
That's fair, that has zero expectation.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
We said it on the air.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
He was solid, hadenalty, he had the one penalty, but
I take that penalty because that boy was in his pocket,
like lyn oh boy, So I take that all day long.
So I was highly impressed by him. I was unaware
of his game.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
Yeah, So I liked it.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
I liked it.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
So you talked about the snaps at the second level.
I just pulled up the snap counts from last night.
Would you like to take a guest on who played
the majority of the snaps for the linebackers? Murray was
not Kenneth Murray. Kenneth Murray played twenty six percent twenty
six snaps, forty three percent of the snaps. This is
what you would you like to take another guess? You're
(09:03):
probably gonna say Demo, Demo was number two, Demo was
number two one, may.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Well more, this does not yes, Logan Wilson the number one.
Speaker 6 (09:15):
Guess the number one and number two snap counts at
the linebacker position where Logan Wilson won to Marvin Overshown
two and Wilson had thirty four snaps and Marvin Overshown
had thirty one snaps. Wow, so that's fifty seven percent
for Logan Wilson and fifty two percent for de Marvin
Overshown of defensive snaps that they played in the game. Now,
(09:37):
one thing I did notice upon rewatching this morning was
Logan Wilson wearing the green dot. I anticipated him to
wear the green dot at some point down the line
because that week one, but the first week with a
team that says a lot about what they do in
trusting him.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
First off, you can tell he's a smart dude.
Speaker 6 (09:55):
And you could tell it definitely is something about his
football IQ and what he was able to do coming
in with a bye week to digest the playbook and
to be able to and a lot of that is
regurgitating the play call, but you got to know the
play call in order to do it.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
It was here, he was here for two weeks.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Pretty impressive. He was here for two weeks, I mean,
and he passed the test for me. Was he perfect?
Speaker 2 (10:16):
No?
Speaker 6 (10:17):
But nobody was perfect. And it's still one of those
things that you want to take one game at a
time and it should only get better exactly. And I
think your your level of competition goes up this week.
So you're going to get another really good test and
really good benchmark this week as to where you should
be with this new loot defense defense against the Philadelphia Eagles.
But you can only play who's in front of you,
(10:37):
and you can only check the box that you are
currently working on.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
And they checked that box yesterday for me.
Speaker 6 (10:42):
And that's that's why I don't like the people talking about,
oh it was.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
The two and seven Raiders.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
I get it.
Speaker 6 (10:47):
Yeah, that's what I understand, already talked about it. But
that's who's on the schedule.
Speaker 5 (10:51):
Now.
Speaker 6 (10:52):
You get to turn things around and make things happen.
You got to get the paper. You get the paper game. Listen.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
I remember sitting here talking about if you were to
add a dominant interior defensive linemen alongside Kenny Clark Osadgizua,
what that would then force teams to do. I said
that it would discourage teams from running the ball. They
would just discourage teams running the ball straight downhill and
(11:20):
they would have to do what I try to attack
the edges. They have to try to outflank you, right,
and then your linebackers are too fast to be out flanked.
What did you see the Raiders try to do yesterday?
Speaker 1 (11:32):
They tried to attack the edges.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
They had no choice but to try to attack the edges.
And then when they couldn't do that, they started trying
to throw the ball out to the edges.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
Right.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
They tried to throwing it out in swing rousers, started
throwing it out on a little nice little things along
the line of scrimmage, but adjacent to the snap of
the ball, and you couldn't because the guys were too fast,
and even when there was a bunch of space, you're like,
oh crap, there's too much space. Any Oh okay, yeah,
there's multiple guys. Hiden you I loved everything about that.
(12:01):
That is what you want to do. You made these
guys abandon the run. If you can make teams abandon
the run, it's a lot easier to play defense, I
tell you, and keeping to the defensive side of the ball.
Trust me, ladies and gentlemen, we will get to offense.
But I'm so impressed with what the defense was able
to put together against the Las Vegas Raiders. I'm just
(12:23):
gonna go to hand hold this up for the audio only.
Cole or Isaiah, could you read this? This take does
not imply that the Cowboys will win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Thank you very Miley face, Thanks very much.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
This sounded like a kindergarten class.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Yea, this defense looks look the best of at any
point this season. Now, they had at least one good
game against the Jets five sex, but it just it
wasn't like this. I mean, the pressure up the middle
was almost instantaneous.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
For where was it from up the middle?
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Quinn Kenny, Those guys were getting after it oh the ends,
and then it kind of worked itself back. Now, what
I want to point out I mentioned this earlier, but
I would be remiss if I didn't draw a gold
circle around Kayln Carson.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
Kayln Carson.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
So now suddenly we have a situation where you're going
to have a very fun competition at cornerback because savone
Revel is back and he played I think, with nineteen snaps,
and on those nineteen snaps, Savone Revel was targeted on
he was targeted twice, only one reception. Okay, do you
know who had the most defensive snaps of the entire
(13:34):
Cowboys roster, Kayln Carson. He was the only one who
played one hundred percent of the snaps, sixty snaps. I
think kyer Elam is going to ride that bingch. But
my point being, at savone Revel gets ramped up more
and more. Now it's Revel versus Kaitlyn Carson, right, and
(13:59):
then Lotbady Stewards out there out there, and then what
you want to see is, okay, well Kayln Carson, Yeah no,
See he's getting all these these reps.
Speaker 7 (14:07):
Now what is he doing with them?
Speaker 5 (14:08):
Well?
Speaker 7 (14:08):
I will tell you what he's doing with them?
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Okay, he allowed only four receptions for a total of
fifty five yards twelve.
Speaker 7 (14:15):
Point two percent target percentage. Yeah, is that good? Seems good? Okay.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
Not only was his coverage stout, but again his tackling,
his willingness, his ability to to in the open field
to take down guys, to not allow them to get
the mistackle, plus the yak after the catchep Kayln, Carson
looked every bit the part of seat belt.
Speaker 7 (14:39):
Now we will see if he can stack.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
Days like this against better we are, against better opponents.
Speaker 7 (14:44):
We will see. Here comes Davonte Smith, Here comes a J.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Brown. Now we're not going to say that their world
beaters in the air. However they are dogs.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
They are.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Then you got Rise, then you got Kelsey.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
I will say that is good, Brown Star.
Speaker 7 (14:59):
It's a good foundation at the base.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Shout out with Kaitlin Carson built on shopping, especially shout
out to dron Blam.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
Oh and the assignment that he had, Yeah, big bounce
back for him to huge bounce back. It was great
to see that response. He got torched until Steed the
week before, but with the sign of a competitor. Is
how you respond yes, right, and he came back and
he handled Rock Bowers.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Brock Bowers is a freaking dude. He's a freaking dude.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
He still got some of it, he still got his
yardage and he did all that, but he's.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
A freaking dude.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
And Deron Bland was in his hip pocket and had
him flustered and frustrated. He did, you can go back
and look at the TV copy. Bron Bowers was like, dude,
get this dude out of here, Like, can you please
get him out of my head?
Speaker 5 (15:39):
Please? He did.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
And to put numbers to that, and of course Deron
Bland wasn't only assigned to Brock but overall, Dron Bland
was targeted eleven times. He allowed only five receptions on
those eleven targets, no chunk plays, totally fifty yards, allowed
no touchdowns, twenty three point four percent target percentage. So
he played exceptional as well.
Speaker 6 (15:58):
And last Friday, whenever we hit did the over under segment,
the over under for Brock Powers was at seventy and
a half.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
He got seventy two. Congratulations Isaiah, you got that one done.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Jean, wait, did on you gotta barely?
Speaker 6 (16:10):
Did?
Speaker 7 (16:10):
Cide and George both score touchdown.
Speaker 5 (16:13):
They did first time they did.
Speaker 7 (16:16):
Who could have such a thing? Yeah, yeah, yeah, the call, sir.
Speaker 8 (16:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
So we'll get to the other on the other side
of this break because I know, uh, Kyle is gonna
want to do that right now.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
So we'll get to the offense.
Speaker 6 (16:29):
Yeah, let's get to that first break. We'll talk about
the offense. Then we'll flip it to the defensive side,
because I know you guys want to talk about the defense. Yeah,
I know you want to talk more about the defense.
But the offense played quite well as well in the
thirty three to sixteen win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
More talking cowboys right after this.
Speaker 8 (16:47):

did see some texts and some tweets from the family

Speaker 3 (19:34):
And everybody was really excited about it all.
Speaker 6 (19:36):
I even saw one, uh, somebody was commenting about Isaiah,
like they really enjoy Isaiah's work across the board.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
We do.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
We really appreciated it all the kind words.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
We love you guys. And we do a lot of homework.
I just hope you know.
Speaker 6 (20:12):
Like there's a lot of late nights and Patrick running
on two hours.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Of sleep and he's been watching pretending hard.
Speaker 5 (20:19):
I woke up.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
I was watching the game this morning, like trying to
stay awake. And that's why I've got the triple shot
of espress.
Speaker 5 (20:26):
Like check this out.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
And to that point, if we're ever saying that somebody
is trash, they're probably trash. We're ever saying that like
they're probably trash, right, Like when the Broncos Week was here,
we told you that defense was was nasty.
Speaker 5 (20:42):
We're not we're not gas lighting.
Speaker 4 (20:44):
We're not trying to like make you feel better like

Speaker 5 (21:02):
We want to spread this infiment.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Spready.
Speaker 6 (21:06):
I like this from George in the chat, and there's
a lot of newcomers in the chat. By the way,
on YouTube, this is where a lot of the fun
happens because Twitter is down today, so welcome to the
YouTube chat. He said, the new season starts today, and
I like the way that's phrase. Okay, I like those
this conversation because it is it's.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
A new season from here on out.
Speaker 6 (21:29):
It's a season where you can't just go five hundred
no down the stretch. No, You're going to have to
win seventy or eighty percent of your games down the
stretch and you're doing it against the Eagles, the Chiefs,
the Lions, the Vikings, the Chargers, the Commanders, and the Giants.
So you're seeing there is a chance. But my god,
you gotta get going down. And so I do.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
I like that.
Speaker 6 (21:51):
The new season starts now and you've got the one
out of the way. You got your freebee win there.
Now it's it's Gauntlan from here on.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
Just is not just the Gauntlet.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
But what we pointed out last week is it's the
way it lays out on the calendar. So you're going
you're coming off of Monday night, flo all right, you
don't have time to see.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
I was like tomorrow, I think Eagles.
Speaker 7 (22:17):
As Ceedee Lamb.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
After the game yesterday, I said, normally, you guys have
twenty four hours to kind of enjoy a win or
to kind of work through a loss, and then you
got to turn the page. How quickly are you going
to turn the page? He said, We're already turned. We're
already on to the Eagles. You got a short week
from Monday night to Sunday, and then from Sunday to Thanksgiving.
Speaker 6 (22:35):
Then from Thursday to Thursday, and Thursday get a little
bit of a bye week like a mini bie.
Speaker 5 (22:39):
We three games, three games twelve days.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Yeah, you're going to earn that many buy. And you
gotta come out of that clean. And I don't just
mean injury wise. I mean you got to come out
of that profitably. You gotta get three and oh, come in.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
There's a chance that you can. I agree, there's a
real chance.
Speaker 6 (22:55):
So that brings me to the next point here. And
we talked a little bit about the defense. Will go
back to them in the next segment. But on the
offensive side of the football, did they do enough yesterday
to show that those last two games were a fluke that.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
The offense And then there's a reason why I.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Ask it that way.
Speaker 6 (23:13):
Did they show enough for your confidence level to return
entirely that this team and this offense is back to
the elite status that they were showing prior to the
game in Denver.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
That's a week the week thing for me, based upon
your opponent.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
It really really depends on your opponent, because the thing
is like you can't just look at teams say Okay,
well this team beat this team or this team lost
of this team, so that means that we're going to
do this. It's all about matchups. Week the week is
about matchups. That's why my analysis changes from week to week.
The Dallas Cowboys versus the Raiders are a completely different
matchup than the Dallas Cowboys versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 5 (23:47):
Right, what do you have to do in order to
beat the Eagles?
Speaker 4 (23:50):
I know we'll start talking about them tomorrow, but you
gotta outscore them. Kevin Patulo's offensive coordinated right now, they're
not doing well. Okay, it doesn't mean that the players
are trash. Players are amazing, but he's not putting his
players in position to be successful. So you're gonna have
to outscore those guys. The Raiders, you were able to
execute and dominate every aspect of the game. They had
good players. They had two dominant players on offense and
one dominant player on defense.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (24:10):
That's all you had to be concerned about with them,
So you weren't that concern right. It should have been
relatively easy to dominate, and they did. That's not the
cases coming week. You know the matchups are going to
be tougher. You're one on one matchups. You know, as
we saw last night, your one on one matchups, you
were able to dominate those Now your one on one
matchups are going to be real across the board, right,
all the way across the board, on both sides of
(24:31):
the ball, so that.
Speaker 5 (24:33):
Even though you're playing in NFL, you would think they
would be the same from week to week.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
It's not.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
It's just not. They're all professionals. They're all really good players,
the best in the world. Some teams just have better
players than others, and that's what you're about to face.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
So we'll get into that. But I was confident.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
I knew that there was going to be a get
right game for them on both sides of the ball.
I was excited to see all the additions. You had
two brand new players. You had two guys coming off
of injury that you hadn't seen all season long, one
of them being a rookie. And then you had two
other guys that were coming off off of injury, right
and and Emily Cooker and Donald I believe, right, So
you have those guys showing back up. So you had
(25:10):
a lot of brand new on the defense side of
the ball. And then offensively, you're just trying to get
back into the saddle running the ball. Yes, you checked
that box, passing the ball. Yes, you checked that box,
did you to your receivers yes? Ferguson Eh, but you
got him in the red zone, right, So like there's
there's still things that are unchecked that you have to
make sure that you get that. You know, pencil it
all the way in, don't don't pencil it in halfway
(25:32):
and to submit your your.
Speaker 6 (25:33):
Test offensive line. I still thought the offensive line was
spotty at times.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
Yesterday, I mean, your pants pro they were abstruction, attack,
they were moving guys.
Speaker 6 (25:42):
Even then, if they were really moving guys, I think
you would have seen more from Javonte Williams, who was
running the ball exceptionally.
Speaker 7 (25:48):
Well, yeah, he didn't run it was. It wasn't perfect, but.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
Behind the line of scrimage we had to shake off
a tackle.
Speaker 7 (25:55):
Let me let me qualify that comment. It was much more.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
They opened many more lanes than they did in the
two previous which I agree with completely.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
But I still want to see more.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
That's what you take it take But you have to
take into account who they were blocked, the opponent, right,
So so you take it with a grain of side.
I don't I don't take it away. I don't take
it away. But yeah, Max Crosby is a freaking dog,
right and he was a dog. Yeah, but he's one
of those he's one of those top three, he's one
of those top three, top four guys that you just
have to be like, that is what that is, you know.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
What I'm saying, Like he's gonna get he's gonna get
hit him.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
You know, Miles Garrett, you know Micah, you know obviously
there's a handful of dudes that you just gonna be like, yeah, sorry,
you know what I'm saying. We did our best, So yeah,
that's that. So I like the direction that they're heading.
I still think that they have to find a way
to get Ferguson going. Like for them to be the
office that they want to be, they have to find
(26:49):
a way to get.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Fergie get You're talking multiple riches.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
I'm talking about sixty or fifty fifty plus fifty yards
Fergny's plus fifty yards. He has to be a threat
in the middle of the field. You cannot continue to
rely upon George Pickens being your eighteen yard en route
guy in the backside of the other play. You can't
rely on Ceedee Lamb being your over route runner. You
saw that early in the game when the safety cut
on his over route and they simply just walled them off.
Speaker 5 (27:13):
Right.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
So people are starting to see the concepts that Dallas
is running and they're starting to try to predict some
of them, and they're.
Speaker 5 (27:18):
Being successful on some of them.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
But you have to get Ferguson going.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
You have to be able to line up and say, hey,
you want to take those guys away?
Speaker 5 (27:25):
All right, this dude can beat you. And we're not there.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
So I agree with Isaiah in that it's a week
to week answer for me because of who they win
against versus who they're going to go up against, and
on a short week, no list, and on another short
week after that, even shorter week. I will say the
only thing I disagree with with Isaiah everything else, I'm
right there with you. I do need Jake Ferguson to
be more involved or get more involved, or I should
(27:49):
say I need them to get Jake Ferguson more involved,
because he is mentally involved. R I mean, I saw
him out there on least one occasion. I think he
put a guy through the earth guy somewhere China right now.
Just nasty, nasty work. But that being said, my counterpoint
is you got to take what the defenses given. So
(28:10):
and that being said, last night, the Raiders were not
necessarily giving them Jake Fergus underneath, they were giving them
George Pickens. They were giving them Ceedee Lamb, And I
give versus take, I said, the Cowboys were taking, so
Ceede Lamb was taking on his routes and George Pickens
was taking on his right. George, and then the collecting
(28:31):
ankles like bottle caps and the yak yardage.
Speaker 7 (28:34):
I mean, what do we have from next gen stats?
Speaker 4 (28:36):
Pickens now owns two of the top ten yak performances
by wide receivers in twenty twenty five. After last night
he had eighty five and week six against the Packers
for its tackles d da dada. But last night nine
nine catches on eleven targets one hundred and forty four
total yards with the tuddy. So when that's happening, for sure,
and then you see Ceedee Lamb he gets a touchdown.
But Ceede Lamb also had some key possession catches that
(29:00):
kept the change move or I should say that moved
the change. When that's happening, you let those two guys, sure,
let me let me put the little context into it.
Jay Ferguson had two really good games in the first
three games of the season. Okay, Week two against the Giants,
he has seventy eight yards no touchdowns Bears, which was
the following week he had eighty two yards no touchdowns.
He's been getting touchdowns obviously since then. He's been your touchdown,
(29:21):
your red zone guy. But he's averaging six point seven
yards per reception including those two games.
Speaker 5 (29:28):
He has to be a threat in the middle, you know.
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
Like, I'm not saying that he's being unproductive. What I'm
saying is he has to be more of a threat.
He has to be able to demand the middle of
the field. I'm not saying that you're you're not getting there.
You are getting there with your receivers, but you need
to be able to run your receivers on their outside
routes and let your tight end work. And he's capable
of doing it. So I'm saying you're leaving a lot
on the table by only getting getting Jake four receptions
(29:55):
for sixteen yards last week Cardinals five for fifty. You
know that was one of his better games, right, Commanders
seven for twenty nine, three for thirty three, seven for
forty nine, seven for forty.
Speaker 5 (30:05):
You know what I mean, Like, Yeah, he's only.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
Had two games over fifty over fifty yards.
Speaker 6 (30:11):
Is it possible that you're telling me all this and
he's capable of doing so? Is it possible? And we've
been critical of past play callers for going too early
into their bag too often early in the season. If
he's capable and they've shown it, and he's still making
an impact for now on the offensive side, and there's
really only two games or maybe three games where you
(30:32):
haven't had the offensive performance sleeping, is it possible that
it's just a matter of time.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Yeah, that doubt that's why it happened.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
Is that what you hit?
Speaker 6 (30:42):
It's I don't want to say that they're sandbagging Jake
Ferguson because he's still being productive.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
He has seven touchdowns. I mean, that's really for sure,
great season, for sure.
Speaker 6 (30:51):
However, I agree with you, I don't think we've seen
the ceiling yet from what he can bring to the table.
But there's also a lot of football to go around,
or not a lot of football.
Speaker 5 (31:01):
To go around.
Speaker 6 (31:01):
There's only one per play that you can pass to somebody,
and you got all these other guys that have to eat.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
So is it possible that it just hasn't been unlocked
yet before?
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Yes, I say this with a sense of urgency understanding
the defensive coordinators that we're about the face. That's fair, okay,
I'm you don't think what the defense gives you though, right,
you take what the defense gives you. But these defensive
coordination you guys, well know as you look at the schedule, right,
the defensive coordinators that were about to face all right,
obviously you got you got your man mister uh where
(31:31):
we're about the face.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
What's his name?
Speaker 4 (31:33):
Uh Vic Fangio okay, and then we have spags right
and you got uh who else.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
Can't I'm blinking on the names right now.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
Well, you're thinking Detroit, and Detroit has two new.
Speaker 5 (31:45):
Co yes, But I'm thinking of Vikings though.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
Oh yeah, Brian Flores, Beflow.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
So three of those four decordinators they're gonna get after you.
And I don't want to see fer just being negated
to a.
Speaker 5 (31:58):
Blocker, you know what I'm saying?
Speaker 4 (31:59):
Like the way in which you can hurt a lot
of defenses when they're blitzing and getting after you is
working the middle of the field.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
I think Kelvin Shepherd is the Lions.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
Yeah, he's not as aggressive as these other three, but
I think we're all on the same page, just saying
it different ways because I'm with both of you in
different capacities. And the reason I have my hand raised
was for the point that Kyle made, which is basically,
this is an offense that when it's being called the
right way in a way that's explosive by shoddy. You know,
on any given week, you see a different one or
(32:28):
two guys show out, So I think that this not
even I think this works in the Cowboys favorite because
what you're going to have now is teams trying harder
to stop George Pickens and CD Lamb, and it's only
so much you can do there because you can't double
both the shape coverage one way or the other. But
as they try to do that, because I think the
Eagles are now, they're looking at George Pickens especially, and
they're seeing Ceedee Lamb and they're like, man, we got
(32:49):
to sell out to stop these guys, and then guess
who Jake Ferguson. That's what I'm saying because Javonte is
also going to get his from the running back position.
Shouts out to Gevonanta pass Pro as well. He Jay
Will he brings his big boy. Also, I know we're
going to break down. You got the old line is
going to have their hands full over these Oh, I agree.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
Next couple of games.
Speaker 4 (33:11):
Even even more of a reason that you would think
that Ferguson's production is going to be an uptick because
if Dak has a few or less time to throw
more checkdown happens.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
Carter and Jones coming up, coming up.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
I do want to put this stat out here.
Speaker 6 (33:26):
This is courtesy of the Dallas Cowboys Public Relations public
relations department that does a great job with these postgame notes.
I didn't see this stat until just now twenty twenty five.
Pickings has nine hundred and eight receiving yards seven receiving touchdowns.
He's just the fourth player in franchise history with at
least nine hundred receiving yards and seven touchdown catches through
ten games in a season.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
Where do you go to school?
Speaker 3 (33:48):
He's a former Georgia Bulldog.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Go to Hogs.
Speaker 6 (33:52):
These three names are really really good names to be with.
How about bullet Bob Hayes. Oh, he's one of them,
nineteen sixty six, favor of all time. Michael Irvin, the Playmaker,
my favorite, nineteen ninety five, so familiar. And then the
third one is t O Terrell Owens of the two
thousand and seven.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
He's our history. He's pretty good.
Speaker 6 (34:12):
He's a pretty goodlayer, pretty good player, so pretty good
company to be across the board with in Cowboys franchise history.
For George Pickens, it's been so much fun watching him play.
All right, when we come back, we've got smelly stickers to.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
Hand out a win for the Cowboys.

Back here with Patrick Nose Walker, Isaiah stand back with
Chris Beam in the back of Kyle Yeoman's time. Now
give out our players of the game. It's gonna be
a tough one.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Is it's gonna be tough if you guys know, don't
you ever? Don't you dare? Don't you dare? I kind
of want to go first, just to.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
Throw him, just to throw a wrene, just just to
mess with him a little bit, because I know exactly
where he's going.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
I just want to see where it would be.
Speaker 5 (37:31):
These are all new.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Look at this one. This was a cosmic brownie. That's awesome.
Speaker 6 (37:34):
These are the new stickers that were sent our way
a couple of weeks back, really really cool stickers, and
they're all like super random.
Speaker 3 (37:42):
So this will be fun to talk about. You guys,
got one yet?
Speaker 6 (37:47):
I'm looking man, Come on, guys, we gotta have one
ready to our laps.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Yeah, I mean, yeah, you're right. I'm sorry you run
up there in the middle.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
Of the We're used to the others. Let's see.
Speaker 5 (38:01):
Uh, here we go, I got my go for it.
Speaker 7 (38:06):
I got one, all right.
Speaker 5 (38:07):
Well, you gotta see this right here, drumsticks.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
I was about to say, what is that?
Speaker 5 (38:13):
Drumsticks? You can see one drumstick in the front.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Uh huh.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
I can't really see the other drumstick that well, you know,
so you kind of can see half of it.
Speaker 5 (38:20):
So it looks like one and a half.
Speaker 4 (38:22):
Drumsticks for one and a half sacks by Quinn Williams.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
That five hits on the QB. Oh you hit them
five times? Yeah, one TfL.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
Everybody got better.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
I love quinnen Willas. I'm glad that he's here. You
know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (38:39):
Half drumsticks, Okay, one and a half drumsticks, right, Quentin Williams,
first game.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
Getting it done.
Speaker 4 (38:45):
Boy, that guy was eating yeah he was Yeah, damn good,
he was eating some drumsticks.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
All right, I've got this one right here. I talked
about these being random. These are super random.
Speaker 6 (38:58):
This is a box of chicken nuggets. And the title
on the box says nugs not drugs.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
That's what it says.
Speaker 6 (39:07):
And there are four chicken nuggets in here, four of
them things. They're all nice and four chicken nuggets.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
It looks like it's like a half eaten pack or whatever.
Speaker 6 (39:17):
But since there's four in there, that's how many passing
touchdowns that Dak Prescott had to four different receivers. So
I'm going to give it to the passing attack. I'm
going to say that they were effective. They were throwing
it around. It wasn't just one guy eating. It was
Ceedee Lamb. Then it was George Picking going Picking's going
for a buck forty four. Then it was Ryan flinnoway
(39:38):
in the red zone. Then it was Erguson in the
red zone. Four tuddies for Dak Prescott the passing game
and just about as nice and savory as a little
bit of chicken nugget nugs not drugs.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
Baby, What would you have picked if he would have
completed that last pass.
Speaker 6 (39:55):
And I would have had the food line something else
he's eating. Yeah, it would have been we would have
had a burger or something that.
Speaker 4 (40:01):
Can see to you owe with some honey butter, biscuits,
water burger. That's true, you do, that's true. All right,
I got smelly sticker. I'm gonna give it to Melvin
and chat. No, I'm kidding. Welcome back, Welcome back. Melvin
told y'all we didn't block Melvin. It was just on Ptoh.
Let's see, I'm going with sunny side up? Who on
(40:24):
earth am I giving a sunny side up? You like
your eggs like that on a burger? Only on a burger.
This is going to not just quinnin not just Kenny,
not just Osa, not just Easy, not just Logan, not
just Demo, not just Kaitlin, not just Saphone, not just
(40:44):
the Run, not just Malik, not Marquise Canine with the
PBu that created the entire defense.
Speaker 7 (40:54):
It's been some.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
Dark days this year for you guys, some dark days.
But things are looking sunny side up. Hey, they're looking
sunny side up at the moment. Now keep in mind
as the parent as I hold yeah, hey, as I
hold the sign up, it's.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
A whole other side here you can disrespect.
Speaker 4 (41:15):
I just want everybody to understand that, yes, it was
the Raiders that they were up against, but considering that
the Cowboys have also struggled against bad teams, took them
to over them overtime, to beat the New York Giants,
they got toward the shreds by the Cardinals on their.
Speaker 7 (41:31):
Own fields, and so on.
Speaker 4 (41:35):
Seeing this defense do what they did last night against
anyone is progress.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Seeing it as a.
Speaker 4 (41:44):
An accessory of what Quinn Williams was able to do
in his debut O first game out? What what?
Speaker 5 (41:54):
What?
Speaker 4 (41:54):
How can you not not see this defense as on
a promising track?
Speaker 7 (42:00):
Now?
Speaker 4 (42:00):
Does that mean it'll be fixed? This season, and you
know you won't seem to replicate this. You absolutely do.
But when you look a little bit beyond this season,
oh man, No, really, I'm not looking beyond this week, buddy,
don't do it then, I'm not.
Speaker 7 (42:13):
I'm just saying for now and for later, this might
be very exciting.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
For the defense.
Speaker 5 (42:16):
See what you did.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
They're one of the best candies ever.
Speaker 10 (42:18):
There.
Speaker 4 (42:18):
You go, No, Cowboys, but you got to say the
right way. How you say it now on later? No,
you're from the Pacific, northen that's how you said.
Speaker 8 (42:25):
La.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
No, that's the later.
Speaker 3 (42:27):
No later, Like you're annihilating, But you're an annihilator.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
I went to George Washington University.
Speaker 4 (42:32):
Yeah, but you yourself now, buddy, you're in the South. Now, buddy,
it's not later.
Speaker 6 (42:38):
Cowboys Eagles coming up on Sunday, like we said it is.
It is a short week, so we get right in
the QB vision and a Cowboys preview on the offensive
side versus that Eagles defense. The Eagles defense looks nasty.
That Eagles defense is tremendous and change. Their offense hasn't
been playing at a super high level, but their defense
(42:59):
is real.
Speaker 3 (43:00):
We'll talk about it, so we'll talk about that tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (43:03):
We should have Josh Rodriguez back tomorrow as well. He's
enjoying his time in Las Vegas and one final day
in the Sin City and then he'll be back tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (43:13):
We'll be here for the rest of the week.
Speaker 6 (43:16):
That does it for us. You're on Talking Cowboys again.
A victory Tuesday for Dallas with a Monday night football
win over the Las Vegas Raiders thirty three sixteen the
final score special Thanks to all those who have tuned
in today for Patrick No, Si Walker, Isaiah standback, Chris
Beam in the back.
Speaker 3 (43:31):
I'm Kyle Yeoman saying.
Speaker 6 (43:32):
So long Cowboys Nation, thanks for watching Talking Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (43:35):
We'll see you tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Chris has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
