Can't be in two places at one time, Kyle No,

Speaker 6 (01:31):
NFL network knows where home is.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
They know this is this come.
Speaker 7 (01:34):
If you're a true professional, you would figure it out.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Listen. If I had double Jay's in check book, I
would figure yeah, get that helicopter going, Yeah, I get
the the private.
Speaker 6 (01:43):
Jet thing is like as soon as as soon as
our show starts here, like we are literally getting off
of our the main air right, this is the airwaves there,
So like, oh, so.
Speaker 7 (01:55):
You're not working seven o'clocking the time that this show starts.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Remember he's called in a couple of times after they
were filming. Yeah, yeah, see I'm.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Tapped in, buddy.
Speaker 7 (02:03):
But you know who was putting in work yesterday? Who's
that for Texas Legends? I saw him on the TV yesterday.
I saw him on the two.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
First first home game of the season for the Texas.
Speaker 6 (02:15):
It was a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Yeah, he was the kiss cam. I was on the
kiss cam.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Did you see that video? I feel like you out
of anybody, but I just put it up on X
last night, like late last night. My wife is the
MC of the Legends and she's been there longer than
I have. She's done a great job for a long time,
and she's one of the more entertaining and talented people
that I know. On a microphone, and as I'm like
getting my notes ready, I was trying to find a read.
Speaker 6 (02:40):
We had, like a read for a car dealership that.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
I was that I was trying to find coming out
of break And as I was looking for this read,
out of the background, I hear kiss cam. But I've
never heard, Like The reason it stuck in my head
was like, I don't think there's ever been a kiss can.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
You're in the booth and.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
I'm on the floor right right next to the Legends
bench on the floor, and I hear out of the
corner my my my headset and I've got my headset
on and looking down and I hear I'm gonna kiss
the guy on TV. And of course I know it's Lorena.
I know it's my wife. That's that You're like, yeah, hold,
(03:18):
was it like one of those slow like oh no?
She like legit like like reached around and planted one
on me.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Oh oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
I like, I had like the headset on, so I
have the microphone right here, and I had to flip
the microphone up before she like smashed.
Speaker 6 (03:34):
It into my face.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
So you prepared yourself just like I'm talking fraction fraction
of a second. It was real quick, and it was
funny because after the game, all the Legend staff was like.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Did you know it was her?
Speaker 3 (03:46):
And I'm like, yes, there's only one girl that speaks
on a microphone in the building. I knew she was coming.
I just didn't know what was happening or what it
was about. And then, of course, right as soon as
she's like done engaging lips with me on the the
kiss cam in house, our TV broadcast returns from break.
So I'm like fluster to get my my read back
(04:08):
in front of me, and I finished the read first, because.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
You know, I'm a professional. Absolutely she did.
Speaker 7 (04:14):
So we now have proof that Kyle has kissed a
woman before.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
I have done that.
Speaker 7 (04:18):
As to how he had triplets, we got there somewhere, buddy, what.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
But he was not the aggressor yeah exactly, yeah, but
it was It was a lot of fun last night
the Legends. Actually we got rings last night. We got
a Franchise of the Year. Last year the Legends did,
didn't win a championship. But like on the business side,
one of the big things was our broadcast, Like our
broadcast played a factory.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Congrats. But yeah, really cool to be a part of
that and get to celebrate that last year coming through,
you know, the young Legends. Yeah, we've we've got a
we've got a star studded family and it's not me.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
All right, let's get into a little bit of news
and notes. We're kind of stalling a little hit bit
here for Patrick. He was caught in traffic. He'll be
here any second. But I know one of the things
that he's going to talk about, and I'm going to
save it for when.
Speaker 6 (05:05):
He gets here.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Yeah, is they did activate a couple of cass.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
Oh my goodness, I've heard something about that.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Couple of activations, A couple of activations off of the
injured Reserve, a couple of big names on there.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
But while we're stalling, I guess per se just talk.
There's a game coming up, right, There is.
Speaker 6 (05:21):
A game coming up.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
There's a game coming up?
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Went on Monday night? Monday night?
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Hey, is there a game coming up this week? Next week,
this week, this week or next week?
Speaker 2 (05:29):
How would you consider that talking about the Cowboys?
Speaker 6 (05:31):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's Monday, Monday. That's this week, is it?
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (05:35):
It is this week?
Speaker 7 (05:36):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
How many days away is it?
Speaker 6 (05:38):
I mean it's yeah, I mean less than a week away.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
What do you consider the end of the week?
Speaker 7 (05:43):
This is for football? Yeah, that the NFL schedule is
different days.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
It's Monday night. It's the end of the NFL week.
Speaker 7 (05:50):
It is still technically week eleven, right.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Yes, yeah, that's that's.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Isaiah's Isaiah wants us to get into new using notes
real quickly, but he wanted you to be able to
deliver the great news you've been heating on for oh
so long, dude, dude, Well.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
First, do you want to go on the battles of
the good news?
Speaker 5 (06:10):
No, no, we're already on the good Don't do that
to us, Yeah, don't do that.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Let's go with the good news. Ah, those Agent zero
age zero? Who's that zero?
Speaker 8 (06:21):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (06:22):
I thought he were number thirteen?
Speaker 6 (06:23):
Here?
Speaker 2 (06:23):
What the heck?
Speaker 6 (06:23):
Can hear?
Speaker 5 (06:24):
No?
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Agent zero? Tomorrios show what about him? Keep back, keep back,
keep back?
Speaker 5 (06:28):
Like walking around?
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (06:30):
Yeah, yeah, nope, more than walking around running around, playing rounds, forwards.
Speaker 7 (06:35):
Backwards, sideways, stopping all the way starting hitting, oh.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Hit down all right, Hey, hey, hey, Tomorov has been
officially activated from injuries.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
Who in face? I like those words right there.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
It is so the.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Cowboys potential superstar linebacker. He is back from his torn
a c L that he suffered last season, and it
was just devastating in and of itself. But then when
you look at what he came from as far as
the first torn a cl which was non contact, he
was just lights out for the Cowboys human highlight reel
(07:14):
before he got his opposite knee rolled up on by
alignment and then that tour that a cl.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
But he is back. He's back to business.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
So he will he will be on the field against
the Las Vegas Raiders on prime time. But would you like, yes,
more good news, more good news? Yes, So we did linebackers,
So how about secondary Yeah? Okay, rookie throw round picks
vone Reveel sounds familiar. Yeah, he's also officially activated from
(07:44):
injured reserve by the Dallas Cowboy.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yes, revel is in business. That needs to be a
headline by the Does happen? Maybe for the not because
Overshown over Overshadows.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Oh no, seriously, man, all Joseph's uh, these two young
men have overcome. And and for those that I know
a lot of NFL fans, they're so used to hearing
the phrase torn a c L and they understand how
(08:27):
how bad of an injury that is. But because they
hear it so frequently, unfortunately that I believe it diminishes
a little bit as far as when a fan hears it.
But and Isaiah can and it tests when it comes
to recovering from one of those things, it's it's a pretty.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Big damn deal.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
So shouts out to Savone, Revel and de Marveo on overshown.
They are back and ready to go. Now we talked
about this yesterday, Isaiah. We know that it's barring anything
weird happening this week. Kno going all the wood overshown
his concrete. He is playing against the Raiders. But recent
comments from Stephen Jones to one oh five three the
Fan indicate that Revel may or may not be unleashed
(09:08):
on Monday.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
This is no indication.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Basically, yeah, this is not because there's been any kind
of setback. This is because their takeout for so many
fans that are saying, oh, we're hoping. They're not rushing
to him back. Do you see what they're doing. He
suffered the torn ACL fourteen months ago, and after now
activating him, they're still saying, we want to make sure
you're a good, good, good before we put you on
(09:33):
that field. So Stephen Jones told the fan, he said,
we'll see, quote unquote, we'll see how this week plays out,
and if we believe Reveel can help us win against
the Raiders, then he'll be activated, and if not, then
he'll be inactive.
Speaker 7 (09:45):
And that should tell you all you need to know
about their confidence and overshown returning into the build on
Monday night, that's how confident they are. I know a
lot of people are concerned about it, even how the
season's going, the record that it's like, okay, maybe just
save him for No. They feel really confident and they
wouldn't put an hit him out there without being one
hundred percent.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
You know what helps your secondary? What's that, Queen Williams,
who's that? That guy's going to make it? Oh on Monday,
there's a lot going on. There's a lot going on.
You got Logan Wilson, you got Quinn Williams. You got
tomory Ov shown more potential.
Speaker 7 (10:17):
Editions, new faces on defense for.
Speaker 6 (10:20):
Potentially new faces one how.
Speaker 7 (10:23):
Many guys are on defense? How do you call that
the fifth l l one.
Speaker 6 (10:30):
Of the.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
So yeah, so how you feeling?
Speaker 6 (10:35):
I feel pretty dark on good You guys know, last
time I was here, we were talking about.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
The i Q dub.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
Yeah, I was pretty excited about that. I also am
now excited about this Logan fellow.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
You know, I like his.
Speaker 6 (10:58):
Aspect that he asked. I think that he is a
very intelligent individual. When you listen to him talk, when
you listen to how he approaches the game, and then
you go off and you watch a little bit of film,
you understand the move. Originally I didn't understand the move.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
And and your criticism of him was he's more, say
anything different than what you already have in the linebacking or.
Speaker 7 (11:18):
Change your tune.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
And remember when I came back the day after we
had talked about it, after not watching him in Cincinnati,
watched a little bit of film, and I said, I
think he brings something else.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Have you seen the same thing?
Speaker 6 (11:29):
I have seen it, but it's also what you don't see.
And I truly believe that he is a highly intelligent individual.
And that's not to say that other guys aren't. But
there's levels of everything, let's be honest. I think that
he conducts himself as a leader, which makes sense as
to why he was wearing a sea on his chest.
I think that he prepares lights out, which is why
(11:52):
I understand now the comparison to some previous linebackers that
have been in the building that were held in higher
regard a lee. So I think that his ability to
put guys in the right place and to decipher what
offenses are doing to help.
Speaker 5 (12:11):
His guys have an edge and help his guys have.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
An early step. I like that.
Speaker 6 (12:16):
I like that move for this defense from that perspective,
not even just a physicality, like I'm taking the physical
out of it, right, I think that physically we have
probably one of the more athletic linebacker rooms in the league.
So I'm not taking I'm taking that out of it.
How can he helped this defense get an edge by
his preparation, right?
Speaker 2 (12:34):
And the expectation.
Speaker 6 (12:35):
Now as you start to see what this front office
is doing, whether it's for this year, people are talking
about it for next year. I don't really give a
dog on how you want to look at it. You
have a Kenny Clark who's regarded as a very important
person on the field and a leader. You have a
Quinn Williams who's a leader and works his tail off
both on the field and weight room and in the
(12:57):
film room. Then you have a osa that you already
rewarded right again, high character guy works his butt off
in all the elements, Solomon Thomas, high character guy works
his but like you know what I'm saying, You see
what I'm getting at there, And then behind it a
trend there, there's a trend going on here, okay. And
then you add a Logan Wilson to it. Okay, somebody
who's gonna again work to see on his chest, highly intelligent,
(13:19):
all these things. The maturity level that this defense is
starting to transform into. I like that direction because with that,
when you start inputting these individuals that are all highly
regarded for their physical attributes, highly regarded for their preparation,
highly regarded for their physicality and the impact to the
(13:40):
on the game, and you now start accumulating those guys
those stones per se, there's an expectation level that's now
raised there's an accountability level for that entire defense that's
now raised. So if I am of the sort that
I don't put in that kind of work or I
don't understand what hard work and preparation looks.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
Like, I now will see what that looks like.
Speaker 7 (14:02):
And I have the evidence.
Speaker 6 (14:03):
I compare it to my transition from Dallas to New England,
no disrespect. Dallas had their way of going about things,
which was, you know, highly competitive. We went thirteen and
three my first year, all those things. But then when
I went to New England, I thought I knew what
preparation looked like.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Right in my head.
Speaker 6 (14:21):
I've been on a successful team with the Cowboys, a
lot of talent, right, hard work, and everybody's doing their thing.
That's my perspective. That's all I understood aside from college.
But then I got there and my expectations flipped. Literally
had to change. Yeah, because of my environment. My environment changed,
and the people in my environment had substantially higher expectations,
substantially higher work ethics, essentially higher preparation. So I had
(14:45):
to adjust and I had to adapt, and I believe
that that's what this front office is doing on that
side of the ball.
Speaker 5 (14:51):
And I like the direction they're going.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
And they're building through the interior of your defense too.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
You've got playmate, like those words the spine of your defense, right,
which we've talked about so many times, so I know
spine though it does.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
It has a spine, it has a backbone, a little
bit to build from. I agree, I agree. We've had
this conversation before. Stop looking at me. I am happy
with what happens. Nate, you hear this.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
I'm so happy Ate, are you hearing this right now?
But it's it's not just Quinn Williams. It's the combination
of a middle linebacker and Quinn Williams. I wish they
would have had a safety to kind of complete that
tree all the way up to the top. Still, I
wish that would have been the one extra spot. Oh,
sign one, and you could go sign one real quickly
(15:34):
before we take our first break.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
There was a bad news in there. Well, the perfect
segue to the safety. Did you just do that? Actually, yes,
I did want to take it. And I have a question.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
Yeah, speaking to the safeties, they're they're in trouble because
one of you, Thomas, was moved to the reserve list
because the migraines are back. So he returned in week
nine and he played in that game, but they returned
during the BI week and so much so that they've
shut him down for at least four weeks. And now
there's there's very real concern as far as potentially this
(16:07):
being season ending.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
We just gonna have to wait and see how it goes.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
We're gonna have to wait to Malik Donald's not back yet,
but Stephen Jones did kind of throw out there that
Malik Hooker might be back this week even though his
window hasn't been opened yet. So but nonetheless, safeties are
in dire straits because one is definitely down.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
I have to go at least you.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
Justin who's available?
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Couple?
Speaker 5 (16:30):
Just in Yeah, just in Justin Simmons is available. That's one.
So just you know, know that he signed squad, he
signed yesterday. He's as strong though.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Yes, no hybrid. I'll give him hybrid.
Speaker 7 (16:51):
You need safeties period.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
Yeah, I now we're talking bigger questions. I mean, it
was ready stewart of safety because that's what was playing
out there.
Speaker 6 (16:57):
Before we go to break. What has to happened to
the roster to active roster. Now that you're bringing on
revel and over.
Speaker 4 (17:05):
I don't know how the how the NFL and the
Cowboys are going to handle Marshawn's spot. We don't know
if they're going to give them a roster exemption or not,
because you're bringing on revel and owayshowing effective as of yesterday,
one Ya is the minus one, so you gotta plus
two minus one, and you have that glaring hole that
you're talking about.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
So I don't have an You might not have to
do anything, may not.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
If they give them a roster exemption, then nothing, nothing
additional would need to happen.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Yeah, I don't know where.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
And I think the last time was that Sean Taylor
was the last active player.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Now it's probably.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
Happened, It's definitely happened. Fortunately has happened.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
Yeah, but it is. It's kind of it's up to
NFL rules and I haven't. I can't. I'm not giving
that exemption. That's what I would think. All right, let's
take our first break. When we come back, I say
it's back in the building.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
You know what that means.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
It's time for a little QB vision more talking Cowboys
right after this.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
I don't know why I went?
Speaker 1 (21:11):
Guy?
Speaker 5 (21:12):
Why why? It's time for QB vision.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
With Isaiah's standback, guys, we alive into the upanas.
Speaker 6 (21:25):
He was kelly stoked about this one.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
You were stoked about it.
Speaker 6 (21:29):
I'm stoked.
Speaker 7 (21:30):
He's rightfully stoked.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
How can I say this?
Speaker 7 (21:33):
This is before saying, Isaiah, say it with your chest.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
Get a little to be of this black dull.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Three hundred games three that's that's a lot.
Speaker 5 (21:46):
Or listen, how can I sell this politely?
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Say it with your chest?
Speaker 6 (21:52):
This Raiders defense is trysh who oh words, Oh, it's
the most plastics defense I've ever seen this ski Oh
my goodness, this is very simple.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
I don't somebody's gonna see you're glazing.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Listen here, you guys know I keep it one hundred
round here, Yeah you are. I like it.
Speaker 6 (22:14):
I appreciate your readiness because it's still factual. We always
keep it real with you guys here on talking Cowboys. True,
you guys can never say that.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
We lie to you.
Speaker 6 (22:21):
You can never say that we misled you. Whether you
like the way that it sounds, the real is there.
The real is This defense is trash. And the Dallas
Cowboys don't score forty four points and I have concerns
about our offense. This defense, there's nothing to really talk about, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (22:40):
I've watched multiple games. They run two.
Speaker 6 (22:43):
Coverages cover three, cover one, Cover three, cover one. They'll
show two high safeties. The safety that does not backpedal.
Let me tell you what, he's the one that's dropping.
There's one safety that will immediately backpedal if they show
too high. To other safety just literally stand still at
the snap of the ball. He is your down safety.
He is your flat defender, right, your hook defender. In
(23:05):
the in the cover three defense. This is a bind
but don't break type of defense. But they really can't
not break because there are only one safety. They're linebackers
and underneath defenders get a lot of depth. So they
really want to play the slow drip game, right, They
want you to take the five yards. We've seen this
somewhere before over the past few weeks. They we saw
(23:26):
it against Arizona. Yeah, on Arizona football, Yes, but Arizona
had two high safeties, right, so they made it very
difficult to not get over the top.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Dallas does a really good job of.
Speaker 6 (23:35):
Doing what taking ceedelandup, taking George Pickins, running over routes,
maybe per se. Those over routes typically find a hole
in the single high safety zones. How does the Raiders
come back that, Oh, well, they take a linebacker and
they match one of your one of their receivers or
tight ends. So they'll run cover three one safety deep
corners on the outside, playing thirds, one third, one third,
(23:57):
one third of the field. Those guys, those three guys
are responsible for the deep thirds of their portions and
fifty three and a half yards up with the field.
There's not a lot of guys to cover all that field,
but they take their middle linebacker or one of their
other flat defenders and they'll turn and match you if
you're trying to run across the field. So middle linebackers
there's usually unathletic guys.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Correct.
Speaker 6 (24:19):
Outside linebackers usually are semi athletic, but they don't usually
live in the realm of past twelve yards, So you
know how to what do they do about that? Somebody
who's one hundred and forty seven years old and still playing.
Where's number thirty three for them? Named Jamal Adams is
at the linebacker level one hundred and forty seven. He
plays linebacker that chicks out line backer for the Las
(24:43):
Vegas Raiders. He's listening to safety play linebacker guys, So
don't be surprised if you see Jamal Adams in there.
Speaker 5 (24:50):
He's only thirty.
Speaker 6 (24:51):
He's been around the league since he feels like sixteen.
He's been around sixteen years old. I swear he went
in the league like Lebron, so he's been around the
league for a very long time.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Injury. He's a box safety.
Speaker 6 (25:06):
Everybody who's ever talked about him has called him a
box safety, and now he's literally in a box playing
linebackers yeah, so he's that. So don't be surprised if
you see a thirty three in there. He's not a
true linebacker, but he's a He's a sure tackler. He
always has been a sure tackler. He's more of a
hitter than he is a tackler. He wants to thump you,
but they'll use him to cover to match some of
(25:26):
your underneath routes or your routes that are trying to
go across the middle. They have a dude, obviously on
the defensive line that you have to respect. He's one
of the best in the league. And Max Crosby I
have to mention his name of course.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Animal. Yeah, so the players that I would highlight, there's two.
Speaker 6 (25:42):
Okay, it's Max Crosby, which we all know and if
you don't know, then you probably don't watch football. But
at number ninety eight, he's one of the top three
defensive ends in the league.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
He just Mad Max. His name is mad Max for
a reason. He is, by the way, that's what Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Thought he said ninety three. Bad miss, you're good? Apologies?
Speaker 6 (26:00):
Sorry, all right, So Mad Max is a dominant player.
I give all the respect to him. He is as
dominant of a pass rusher that's out there. He has
the motor of a Solomon Thomas probably times two. Somehow,
he just doesn't stop. So I have nothing but the
(26:22):
highest of regard. Yeah, relentless. There's a reason why you
heard his name and potential trade talks. Everybody in their
mama was trying to get him because he changes your defense.
With that said, they're they're underutilizing him. I'll say that
that would, Yeah, they're underutilizing him. He has not been
as dominant as he can be. He's been more dominant
in the running game than he's been in the passing game. Okay,
(26:43):
so if that goes for anything. He usually is getting
locked up with a tackle or a tight end, he
usually sheds that person. He usually jumps and grabs a
guy swings his legs around, gets a tackle. Doesn't look
like much because he's in a cloud of dust, but
he's making those tackles. The only other person that I
would really highlight is somebody who plays with a chip
on his shoulder and don't try to tap him up
in the middle of the game. Don't try to show
(27:04):
him no love. He literally wants to rip your face
off and he's been around the league for a while
as well. His name is Devin White, linebacker number forty five.
I have a high regard for him as well. Super
Bowl champion, very much so. When I think about what
a linebacker looks like and acts like in the charisma
and the character of a linebacker, like h that's him,
Like that's in my eyes, that's the embodiment of a linebacker,
(27:27):
like don't talk to me, I just want to hit
you right, And you see it all the time.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
He doesn't stop, he runs, he hits. He's very physical.
Speaker 6 (27:34):
So those two Crosby at the defensive and position, Devin
White at the second level, those are your guys you
have to be concerned about. Jamal Adams is going to
be in there. I'm looking at it now. He's listed
as a SAM linebacker or whatever. Okay, outside of that, y'all,
I'm respectfully, respectfully, there's not much like it's really lineup.
(27:55):
We're gonna run the same plays over and over again
because we feel like we can communicate well on defense.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
We feel like we could pass off coverage.
Speaker 6 (28:01):
We feel like if we play this game, you're gonna
get greedy and try to take a shot and hopefully
we can take advantage of it. Yeah, but it's literally
the most simplistic defense that we've seen this year.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
One guy that I do want to highlight that I
thought looked good on film. It's kind of forgotten in
this because of everything that's kind of played out with
the Raiders. Specifically, say the name. I'm thinking it's one
of your dogs. His name is Eric Stokes. He's a corner.
This year, he's been putting some tough coverage situation, absolutely,
and I think he's done a pretty nice job across
(28:32):
the board. He did allow a touchdown last week against Denver,
the one touchdown in.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
That entire game.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Really on Thursday night against Denver, he did allow the
one touchdown there, so that wasn't great. But outside of that,
and I went back to look at his other numbers
because I only watched the Denver game and I watched
the Jacksonville game the last two for Las Vegas, and
I wanted to see where it's number stacked up. Fifteen
receptions allowed this year on twenty five targets, and he
had not allowed a touchdown all year until the Denver game.
(29:00):
And so I think he's playing pretty well despite being
placed in a tough situation, like you said, where they're
allowing receptions underneath.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
He's the one guy in their secondary that has not
been He ranks.
Speaker 7 (29:10):
Relatively high as far as past coverage goes. But the
one knock on him so far this season is his tackling.
Speaker 5 (29:15):
Which is probably fair.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
That's always got his red flag.
Speaker 7 (29:18):
Yeah, that hasn't been there. Another name, obviously, talking about
Devin White. I think he's he deserves more respect than
he's gotten. He signed a one year, one point two
million dollar contract.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
Almost that minimum.
Speaker 6 (29:30):
Phrase that is a Super Bowl champion, which means he's
available next year, and he's.
Speaker 7 (29:35):
Doing so much for that team. He's doing his best, obviously,
but he's a dog for sure, a guy that I
was curious about when I was looking at it. First
round pick, former first round pick twenty thirteen or sorry,
twenty twenty three, Tyree Wilson. Now, you'd expect the defensive
line around Mex Crosey to be cleaning up, but they
are simply not. You're not seeing any stats along the
(29:56):
defensive line, their interior defensive line. Sorry, guys, it's not
very good. It's not very good, and I don't mean
to be disrespectful by any means, But Tyre Wilson is
a guy that they expected as a first round pick.
I think picked seventh overall. They expected a lot of
things from Kyle. What was your evaluation?
Speaker 2 (30:11):
I loved Tyree Wilson. That was a big draft miss
for me.
Speaker 6 (30:14):
I thought he was a top four player.
Speaker 7 (30:16):
Are you saying bust?
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Huh?
Speaker 7 (30:18):
Are you saying bust?
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Absolutely?
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Wow, he just had He just doesn't have it, and
it it was pretty apparent right off the bat. I
don't know what changed from his time in Tech to
moving into the NFL, but it just never clicked. It
just never worked out before. Oh man, I loved him
out of college. That's why I was talking with Tommy off.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
The air the other day.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
There's a Texas Tech edge rusher right now that's really
good and we'll talk more. No for real, and you're
you're told you're taught not to scout the helmet, But
every time I look at him, I'm like, no.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
It's David Tyree Michigan exactly. It's the same thing again.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
But you can't do that, and the Texas Tech current
edge rusher deserves all the credit. Tyree Wilson. Man, it's
just not worked out there. I thought he would be
a perfect compliment, a developmental player that could be a
starter immediately and turn into a compliment for Max Crosby.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
That just never happens.
Speaker 5 (31:14):
He just doesn't happen.
Speaker 7 (31:14):
That's a whiff for sure.
Speaker 6 (31:15):
Yeah, it's and he's a guy that you really.
Speaker 7 (31:17):
Don't necessarily need to account for. Like I said, outside
of Max Crosby, that defensive line is not very good.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
What Kevon Thibodeau is now for the Giants where he
started immediately, but it was kind of right off the
jump and lack of production to start now is turning
into a game record type of edge rusher.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
That's what I expected David Tyree to be. And he's
not on the same trajectory at all.
Speaker 7 (31:38):
No, And it's two years in granted and there's more
time obviously, but it's just you're not seeing it right now.
Speaker 4 (31:43):
Well, I'll make a couple couple of points. One when
it comes to Eric Stokes Go Dogs. One thing I
can say is, like you said, he has an issue
with with wrapping up and getting getting his arm and
getting tackles.
Speaker 6 (31:55):
Basically, coverage is great. Yeah, coverage is unwilling or unable
I don't think that he's unwilling. I think that you say,
absolutely yeah, you can. I think his since his days
at Georgia. Through his days at Georgia, one thing that
I picked up on with him is it's it's technical
with him, right, it's functional with him, just just something
(32:15):
about he's just not the best at breaking down and
driving through his tackles. The effort is certainly there, it's
just that part of his game may not ever be a.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
Strong suit for him.
Speaker 6 (32:28):
So just for example, some corners that are currently playing
that do a really good job at that. Darron Blam
for your Dallas Cowboys does a really good job of
dropping his hips, setting his feet, and driving through Jayalen
Ramsey corner slash safety. However you want to look at him,
he does a really good job of dropping us, dropping
his weight, driving his hips. So those are guys that
are willing and capable doing it. And then you got
(32:48):
guys like, for instance, back in the day, nay Shon
right here wasn't it wasn't necessarily willing. Israel Macuamo wasn't
necessarily willing. I think all people are capable. That's the
willing part that gas Stokes is definitely willing. It's just again,
it might never be his strong shooting, and that's not
what got him to the league. We got him to
the league as his coverage skills, which you know, to
Kyle's point, this was the touchdown that he allowed against
(33:09):
Denver was his first allowed touchdown this season.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
So he's scrappy, He's excellent in coverage. And I say
all of that to say what I'm about to say
in that it won't matter Eric, but it won't matter
because of who you're going against. Number one, it's he's
the bright spot in their secondary. But as bright as
(33:34):
the bright spot is in their secondary being Eric Stokes,
it's not as bright as George Pickens bright spot. But
then there's also the other brighter spot CD Lamb there.
You can't be in two places at once off of
a bye, off of a bye, So not only can
Stokes not be in two places at one time, but
the one place that he needs to be in at
(33:56):
any given point in time, he's outmatched can't win with him.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
So there's that.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
And then when you talk about the middle of the
Raiders defense, when you like you said Jamal Adams linebacker,
when the more you say Jamal Adams. The more I
keep harkening to fans asking me, you know, no, see,
what does Jake Ferguson need to do to get back
on track Jamal Adams.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Yep, square up, Yeah, square up.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
Be on the field against Jamal Adams, because there's something
about that matchup that really lights the fire in Jake Ferguson.
And if you don't remember, please, by all means go
back and look at the last time Jamal Adams and
Jake Ferguson played here at at and T Stadium, uh
and Jamal got sunned. Basically he didn't want the gravy
from Yeah, Jake Ferguson was out there, just just little boys,
(34:44):
white gravy Adams. So if you're using if you're the
Raiders and you're using Jamal Adams in any type of
coverage capacity at all, whether it be box safety or linebacker,
that means he's to have to, you know, drag against
Jake Ferguson. And I'm taking Fergie every day of the
(35:05):
week against Jamal ever.
Speaker 7 (35:06):
And it's on the run now to talking about how
Jake Ferguson can kind of get back into rhythm.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
Which is what we're gonna talk about it. Whoa purpose?
Speaker 3 (35:16):
After the break here on talking by the way, shout
out to Charlie. I didn't even realize. I said David
Tyree and I said it twice. The helmet that's Tyree
Wilson as the edge rusher that I was talking about.
He said, lol, not Kyle, slipping up and saying David Tyree.
And then I said it again. Evil my bag. Guys,
it's early in the morning. The caffeine from Black Rifle

Coffee hasn't kicked.
Speaker 2 (35:39):

This segment of the show is brought to you by
and Visiline, the official Smile of the Dallas Cowboys, vis
a line helping Isaiah smile since nineteen eighty three.
Speaker 6 (38:07):
Y'all need to hit your boy up. You feel me?
You feel me?
Speaker 2 (38:10):
Isaiah's stand back.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
Josh Roderiguez, Patrick Nocy Walker, Chris Beam in the back.
All right, Patrick, you set it up. You tossed it up,
he got it ready to knock it out of a
two part Yeah, okay, you know you more familiar.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
Yeah, the offense, Yes, Jake Ferguson, how do you get
him back on track?
Speaker 4 (38:33):
Well, like I said, first and foremost, he's gonna, you know,
look across the line. He's gonna see Jamal Adams and
he's gonna get fired up because those two guys really.
Speaker 5 (38:40):
Really don't like each other.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
And I say, and I'd love that because Ferguson is
such a competitor that that's the type of stuff that
fires him up.
Speaker 5 (38:48):
It is, So that's one.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Two.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
You have to take advantage if you're Brian Schottenheimer, take
advantage of those seamros. I think this is a game
where the same route between Dak and Jake gets back
on track in some In some way, the Raiders just
simply can't and don't defend the seams well, they just don't.
So get Ferguson involved that way, get him in situations
(39:11):
where he can at least, you know, get some type
of yack. It seems like he's struggled this year with
the yack portion of his game. I've seen him have
better yak seasons than the season.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
I'm gonna get your an ac jackt Yeah, let me know, because.
Speaker 5 (39:22):
The eye test says he's struggling.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
With yack this. I I would agree with you. I
just I'm curious what the numbers.
Speaker 4 (39:27):
Yeah, So get him in situations where he can, you know,
make a move or two after the play, but nonetheless
attack the seam attack of attacker, attack it. And that's
also going to plan to the other thing, which is
the Cowboys need to get their run game established and
they can against this defensive front. But if you're dragging
linebackers out of the middle of the field on seam
(39:48):
routes and underneath and things like that, that should inherently
open well you're hoping that your offensive line opens up
lanes for Deavonte Williams. So then once he gets at
the second level, guess who's not there the linebacker, because
where are they They're chasing Jake Ferguson and maybe Cavante
Turpin and whoever else you might have underneath him.
Speaker 7 (40:04):
I may need to be a little schooled on this
one because I don't feel like the seam throw has
been there necessarily for Dak this year.
Speaker 5 (40:09):
Like I obviously he was there he just missed.
Speaker 7 (40:11):
Yeah, yeah, it's it's been improved. He's been improved overall.
I mean, he's playing the best football of his career.
But he seemed God, he was seen God before this
and I'm just not seeing it connected very well so
far this season. But if that's different, please let me know.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
Well, I think a couple of things going to that.
I think you're right, but I think with the context
of he's these guys have dropped a couple of those,
you know, So if they bring in a couple of those.
I know a Schoon had a drop, a ferg a
couple of those that he could have brought in, and
I think two or maybe all three of those could
have been touchdowns. So if they catch, if they catch
those passes, then maybe you feel differently. It's a different conversation.
(40:46):
But in all I do feel like they're attacking the
seam less. But I think they're attacking the seam less
because there have been some drops.
Speaker 7 (40:54):
It's definitely been less prominent there.
Speaker 3 (40:56):
I've got a I've got a number for you for here,
Jake Ferguson, uh Isaiah, what do you like to call Jake?
On our pregame coverage mister five yards. You like to
call him mister five yards. His yards per reception this
year is six point nine, six point nine, so.
Speaker 7 (41:11):
That rate sixty nine.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
Yeah, that rates dead last out of tight ends that
have at least fifty targets this year. Now, the yards
after the catch, which is a point that Patrick was
bringing up as three point seven out of the nineteen
tight ends who have had at least that number of
(41:33):
targets this year, he ranks sixteenth. So you're right, the
yards after the catch are about half of what he's
been given, but at least on average. But it's not
necessarily he's knocking it out of the park in either
one of those categories as he continues to try and
find a role on.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
This offense, but continue doing what he's doing.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
I just remember, you know, coming into the season when
you look at Jake Ferguson's body of work pre injury.
So last year he had the concussion, he had the
spray knee, but prior to those happening, Jake Ferguson would
he would get you some yards after the catch, you know, right,
whether it be big biscuits in the air with the hurdles,
or whether it be just kind of running away from
guys he was. He became what the Cowboys were hoping
(42:17):
Blake Jarwin would become. Before Blake Jarwin his career was
ended medically, right. So if you look, because remember like
the Blake Jarwin Jason Whitten dynamic where it's like Witten
was never going to get you yack, but he was
going to get you that catch. Blake Jarwin would get
you the catch less frequently than Jason Witten would, but
when he got it, he could make a guy miss.
(42:38):
So that's one of the reasons I believe that Jake
Ferguson was able to overtake Dalton Schultz because Schultz was
not a yat guy, but Jake Ferguson was the more,
more athletic yat guy.
Speaker 5 (42:50):
Yeah this season, it's just the yack has not been there.
Speaker 4 (42:53):
Yeah, he feels more Jason Witten this season and that
capacity stop it. It just the capacity of a shorthanded
guy late career Jason. Yeah, yeah, shorthanded. But didn't that
say that some time ago? You're almost flapping across the
table just lap is a stroke?
Speaker 2 (43:13):
Face? What the five face?
Speaker 4 (43:16):
But you're right, so again qualifying it because you qualified
yours a lot of this qualifying it.
Speaker 5 (43:21):
A lot of us is in the sea scheme, in
the system, so agreed.
Speaker 4 (43:24):
So that's what I mean when you pose the question
of how can the Cowboys get Jake Ferguson back on
track and level him up effective this week? You get
him not only down the scene so hopefully seeing God
and that that connection is back, but you put him
in situations with the play calling that gets him more
so in space as opposed to a five and in
(43:46):
where it's just like, okay, it's five and in, but
you know, the box safety is right there, the nickel
corner is right there.
Speaker 5 (43:52):
There is not any moved, any room to maneuver.
Speaker 2 (43:54):
So that's what I mean.
Speaker 7 (43:55):
Do you think if Brevin span Ford was given those
targets in those same routes he would have the same
yack at this point.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
I'm willing to see it, but I think I'm willing
to see it at the expense of I don't think
you take away from Jake. I think you figure out yeah,
and so my answer, I think you figure out what
the bread and schoon dynamic kids right, Because some of
the targets they're giving the schoon I think would have
(44:25):
been better served for Brevin span Ford maybe, So that's
where I stand. I do want to see more Brevin
span Ford. I just don't think it has to be
at the sacrifice of Jake, whom you're trying to get
back on track, and we were just talking two weeks
or so ago. Jay Ferguson was having a career season,
so I don't think you take away from that, But
I do think there's something to be said for Brev
having more reps when in a situation where Schoon is
(44:47):
just struggling.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
All right, that's gonna do it for us. You're oh god, boys,
I know we've had so much fun. Time flies when
you're having fun.
Speaker 7 (44:55):
This is a really fast episode. I guess we started
a little late.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
Started a little bit late, but because we're back, other
boys I know love it.
Speaker 5 (45:02):
Bands back to.
Speaker 3 (45:02):
Appreciate you boys, as always appreciates all of you listening
as well.
Speaker 2 (45:07):

a comment of the day just because it made me laugh.
Speaker 3 (45:14):

A F M R with the which I thought was
funny because the name was nerd girl.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
A S M.
Speaker 7 (45:27):
I just thought that was we need to do an
all a SMR episode one day.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
No, that's not happening now now, all right? That does
it for us?
Speaker 3 (45:39):

Beam in the background, Kyle Yeoman's will see you Tomorrow.
