Raised by his grandmother in South Carolina, he was nurtured in the ways of the Lord from an early age. After serving in the Army and building a career in Hawaii, he deepened his commitment to Christ under the mentorship of Bishop Michael Goings. In 1992, alongside his wife, Dr. Melrose, he established God’s Life Christian Church in New Jersey, a ministry focused on teaching believers their identity in Christ and empowering them to live victorious lives.

In 2018, Bishop Bethea returned to Hawaii to establish God’s Life Christian Church in Ewa Beach, answering a divine call to bring revival to the islands. The church emphasizes unity, strength, and transformation through Christ. In 2020, he expanded his ministry with Hawaii Christian Outlet in Waipahu, a resource center for spiritual growth. Through his teachings, publications, and outreach, he continues to inspire individuals in their faith journey.
