#001 Intro Podcast – What Does God Want?

G'day and welcome to our very first ever episode! We kick off our introductory episode by briefly discussing what are The Ancient Pathways.The word 'ancient' refers to the original, the first and the earliest. In the Old Testament, God calls His people back to The Ancient Pathways. They are the original pathways of God. God has an original pathway that He intended for mankind and this was revealed straight up, right there in the Garden of Eden - a tree of Life for mankind's partaking.  In Jeremiah 6:16, God wanted His people to get back to knowing Him and following His ways for they had strayed far from Him. God told Israel that if they walk in the ancient pathways, they would find rest for their souls. (This indicates that God's original pathways are not burdensome and that it is burdensome to not walk those paths). In the book of Matthew, Jesus says that His yoke is easy and His burden is light! And that if we learn from Him, He will give us rest for our souls. Jesus said of Himself that He is The Way, The Truth and The Life. And we know that Christ is the fulfillment of the Law of the Old Testament and that all scripture points to Christ. You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! John 5:39 So, could the Ancient Pathways actually be Christ Himself? We believe so. As Jesus said, "No one comes to the Father except through Me". By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place...Hebrews 10:20 As we recorded this podcast episode it became apparent that God was making His appeal to be known. How can we truly love and serve a God we don't really know? God's will, His intention, His mystery, His eternal purpose, His high calling, has been made known to us through Christ. Have you ever asked the question, What Does God Want? Perhaps like many others including ourselves, you have spent many years as a Christian serving God according to what YOU think He wants.  God wants us to know what HE wants instead, but to do that, we have to really know Him.  Just like buying a present for a loved one, it's so much better when we know what they would really like because we truly know them. God's pathways speak of God's intent, His purpose and the delight of His heart. That indicates that God has desires, right?  We believe God is speaking to His church in these days, and saying again as He said in Jeremiah 6:1; This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. It's time the church got back onto those Ancient Pathways of discovery into truly knowing God, through His Son, Jesus Christ, and there discover what He wants and align ourselves to His eternal purpose.  Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. John 17:3
