Outback Mind was founded by Aaron Schultz in 2019 and became a health promotion charity - The Outback Mind Foundation in 2022.
After more than 20 years managing male teams across construction, mining and manufacturing industries, Aaron recognised a lot of men struggle, no matter what role we have in life and that there was a huge need to provide guys with support and ongoing wellbeing solutions that help us stay socially connected, build capacity and keep physically and mentally well.
Aaron himself overcame huge self doubt, crippling anxiety and poor lifestyle behaviours caused by over work and burnout before turning his weakness into his strength becoming a teacher of meditation, yoga and anxiety management education, and now has over 7000 practical teaching hours. He has become a strong advocate for a preventative approach to mens health.
You can read more about his journey through his book A Wink from A Guru, forwarded by AFL great Paul Roos. The Outback Mind Foundation knows that many Aussie men have lost their way, their identity and sense of purpose.
Our vision is to empower men to take a smarter approach to our wellbeing, feel safe and supported to do so and help us to become better connected through the our Foundation. Its now more important than ever to help men overcome lifes challenges, manage ourselves better and learn positive ways to thrive.

The Male Room with Dr. Jesse Mills
As Director of The Men’s Clinic at UCLA, Dr. Jesse Mills has spent his career helping men understand their bodies, their hormones, and their health. Now he’s bringing that expertise to The Male Room — a podcast where data-driven medicine meets common sense. Each episode separates fact from hype, science from snake oil, and gives men the tools to live longer, stronger, and happier lives. With candor, humor, and real-world experience from the exam room and the operating room, Dr. Mills breaks down the latest health headlines, dissects trends, and explains what actually works — and what doesn’t. Smart, straightforward, and entertaining, The Male Room is the show that helps men take charge of their health without the jargon.
