wellcome welcome, welcome. How are you today, Bud?

Speaker 5 (00:55):
I'm doing pretty good.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Uh, doing an earlier one today. It's kind of fun.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
Earlier one. Yeah, it is nice. It's gonna be nice
to have the whole evening ahead of me, you know. Yeah, buddy,
sometimes I get sleepy, you know, by the time too.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
The last one we did went real late. Okay, we
gotta let's wrap it up.

Speaker 5 (01:15):
It was super super fun and then I was like,
I need to go to bed now. Thank you, thank
you so much.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
I'm so tirled.

Speaker 5 (01:23):
Be yea, how you doing. I'm doing good?

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Excited This weekend, I get to go up to the cabin, yeah,
which I'm very excited about. It will be our first
trip this year. And then and then I get to
see all the boys. We're going to shoot a music video.
We're going to open up for Clinton Black. It's it's
starting to.

Speaker 5 (01:44):
Starting to happen, starting to pick up a little bit nice,
starting to pick up where you where?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
We're doing that out in Morehead, Minnesota.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
It's called the Blue Stem Amphitheater. I don't think I know.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
I didn't know it either, but excited for that. But
as I'm talking about it, I don't know when we're
going to record the next two weeks.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
We'll figure we might have a week off pretty soon,
which might be okay. Yeah, you know things are happening
that the happening. Summertime gets a little it's a little
crazy for us, but yeah, figure out so we'll see nice.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
So be patient with us.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Well better more than less. Wait what uh? What the town?
You know? Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Yes, yes, definitely I'm with you.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Any who is all? Have you been watching any films lately?

Speaker 1 (02:36):
I have. I went to the theater and I checked
out the new Ryan Coogler film Sinners.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
He did it ladies and gentlemen. He wasn't sick. He's
ready here to tell me everything.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Yeah, you beat me to it. You talked about it
a couple episodes ago. But yeah, I was so happy
that I went into this movie cold. I had seen
images from trailers, but I never really knew what was
going on, and it was all a big surprise for me.
All that I knew was that there was fire involved
at some point, because there was that shot of Michael B.

(03:11):
Jordan looking at something on fire. Oh yeah, that was
about all I knew there.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
In this universe. That's about all I got.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
That's all I got, and I'm hearing it's amazing. I'm
not gonna look into it anymore. I thought it was incredible.
One thing I was super impressed with was the sound
design and the music stood out. Yeah, I loved it.
It is very violent, very bloody. If that is not

(03:44):
your thing, don't check it out. Yes, But if you
don't mind that stuff, it's really really awesome. It's a
fun original film with great performances from Michael B. Jordan
and Hailey Steinfeld. So I was stoked.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
I love it. I encourage everyone to go see it, unless,
like you said they don't like that kind of movie,
but it is.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah, I mean it's it's pretty graphic. It is pretty
and it's.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
Definitely like horror adjacent at the very least.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Right yep, but that was yeah, in to the gory
stuff for sure.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Yes, by the ways, it feels more kind of thrillery.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
But that's true. That's a good point.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
It does get there's some horror aspects for sure.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Yeah. Yeah, but I hope we do an episode on
it at some point. Yeah, that will be Yeah, that
would be fun, super super fun.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Love it for sure. What have you been watching?

Speaker 6 (04:37):
Ah?

Speaker 5 (04:37):
Well, funny that you bring up a great movie, because
I watched maybe the worst movie I've seen in a
few years. And you know, I don't often have hot
takes about how bad. I watched a movie just on
a whim called take Cover that was on Hulu. Yeah,
you've never heard of it. I never heard of it.
It turns out I wish i'd never heard of it

(04:59):
before I saw this cover. The reason I watched it,
Alice Eve is on the call. She's on the cover
like the title page or the get it and I
love her. Uh. And then it sounded cool. It was
like a burned out professional sniper finds himself trapped in
an all glass penthouse by a lethal competitor and must
find a way to survive. And I was like, well

(05:19):
that seems kind of interesting, like let's go for it.
It sucked. She's not even first build now, and I
don't know anybody else.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
In that movie.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
I don't either. She is mearely in it, yeah, which
made me sad on so many levels. I just think
she's really good. But yeah, this apparently this guy is
like an MMA fighter or something. I don't know. It's
just it's really like ham fistedly crafted. It's stupid.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
It's so bad you don't even have to keep going.
I will not watch it so to.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Save yourselves in general. Then, uh yeah, it just sucked.
And it was it's not rated, which I thought maybe
was like, oh, they're going to push the envelope. I
think it's just no one wanted to watch it to
rate it. Yeah, nobody rated it because they no one's
going to see this word. Okay, I don't care.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
I don't care enough to rate it. I rate it boring. Yeah, yeah, boring.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
I gave it a one on IMDb, but only because
I think you have. I think that's the highest you
can do, right, lowest, mean for the lowest you can
do while still marking rating it. Yeah, it sucked hard
and I'm sad, so it's too bad. But you know
it was short. I did have that going for it, Yeah,
which is nice. That's good. Yeah, don't watch it, gang,

(06:44):
What have you been streaming?

Speaker 1 (06:46):
I went and watched a newer Netflix series called Adolescence?

Speaker 5 (06:51):
Have you heard about this?

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (06:53):
This is a bummer, right, Like, isn't it? Kind of?

Speaker 1 (06:56):
It's a bummer heavy. It's sad, but so him and
Sammy were telling me a little bit about it. I
really hadn't heard anything about the show. But there's four
almost hour long episodes. I think the last episode is
over an hour, and each episode is shot in a
one take.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
That's like the one thing I've also heard about it
is it's one take city as well, which is crazy.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Yeah, so there must have been weeks of rehearsal. They
do some really amazing shots that span over great distances,
like all in one shot, which just blows my mind.
Really incredible. But like you said, the story is pretty depressing.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
It's like a teenager, right or something. Yep, Yep, a
teenager is a teenager is accused of killing a classmate.
That that's the main deal. OK.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
And so each episode they go from like different kind
of perspectives and but yeah, the act this is insane.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
That's cool.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Man Steven Graham, who's been in so many different things.
He's one of those actors where you're like, I know
that guy, but I don't know his name. He played
Capone in Boardwalk Empire. That's what stuck out to me.
But he's been in so many movies. Is just kind
of a small character role.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Oh yeah, wasn't he so many snatchtock snatch guy, richie guy. Yeah,
but he.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Is absolutely incredible in this. He also like wrote it
and created this, so he's going to be up. He's
going to be up for some awards for sure. But yeah,
I was very entertained. I certainly didn't leave the experience
super happy. But it is an amazing show and I
highly highly recommend it.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
Nice. I'll have to check that out for sure.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Yeah, you'll appreciate it, for sure. It Yeah, have you
been streaming anything?

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Yeah? I streamed a movie and I can't forgive me
if I've talked about it or just let me know
if I've talked about it. Angels and Demons I watched recently.
Did I say that one? You did?

Speaker 1 (09:10):
But that might have just been to our patrons.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
I couldn't remember that, so I'll just I'll just do
a two for one here. But I watched Da Vinci
Code and Angels and Demons. I watched Angels and Demons
because after the Pope had passed away, I was like, oh,
that'd be kind of fun to watch a movie about
Conclave and all those things. And I'd just seen Conclave,
so I wanted to watch something else, you know. But

(09:36):
I watched the Da Vinci Code as well. They're both
still really fun. They're not like perfect movies, but they
remind me of a fun time when we were reading
those books in the summers and stuff. Loved it. This
is a great time, And you know, they're still fun.
The movies they're just not like as good. I feel like,
you know, they're a little bit more like throwaway or something.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
It's funny whenever Tom Hanks comes up on those like
movie grid games that I play a lot of times,
I'll use those because people just kind of forget about
those movies.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
Yeah, that makes sense I can kind of understand why.
Although I think Angels and Demons is the better of
the two of them, I.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Think I liked I liked both of those. It was
more the third one that I didn't think was great.
And I love Ben Foster Inferno.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Oh I never actually even saw that. I don't think.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Yeah, it's not as good, that's as good as those two.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
That's probably why I didn't see And honestly, yeah, but yeah,
they're still fun. They're you know, suspensey kind of mystery
movies and a lot of like history stuff that may
or may not be true. I don't really you know,
I don't know enough about it, but really compelling books
that I really liked for like summertime reads. Like I said,

(10:49):
but you know, if you're into those movies, go check
them out. They were on yeah, very good time. I
think they were both on Hulu as well, so Hulu
Heavy week food. Yeah. So but yeah, that's fun.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
That's cool, man.

Speaker 5 (11:03):
Yeah, should we do if you plug runs? Yeah? Nice?
You guys can possess as always over on the Twitter

Speaker 5 (11:50):
You guys are great, you really are. I like you.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Hello, I like you. Another perk we like to give
to our patrons is an extended version of every episode
we put out. We'll usually do a top five draft
that pertains to the movie we're talking about, and we.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Thought it would be fun to do our top five.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
My good Cane comes for this one, which is fun.

Speaker 5 (12:15):
It is fun. Yeah, I had more than I thought too.
I wasn't too many behind you, which is pretty coo.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Yeah, I think I had counted twenty two. I think
I had missed one, and I realized I hadn't rated it,
so I think I had twenty three at you I
have eighteen. Still pretty good, pretty good. We could have
had another guest on for this.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
Yeah, I was wrong. I got scared. I got scared.
But instead we told everyone to stay the hell away,
stay away. We didn't. We have to ask them. We
have to ask a lot, a lot and plead and
just say maybe we'll work around whatever you have going on.
Please be with us. That is partially true, but yeah, true.

(12:59):
We will look forward to that. That'll be a ton
of fun coming attractions. Don't worry about it. We don't
know when we're going to record. We don't know what
we're going to record. Life is a buffet that we
will figure out when we get in line. We will.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
We're going to have to figure that out at some point.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
Great line by me. But we're here today to talk
about a lovely film called Miss Congeniality. Yay, and uh,
you know Rob and I were we're beauty pageant people.
You know, I'm sorry. We are a scholarship competition people.
I think it's one of the.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Sure we are and we're just so congenial.

Speaker 5 (13:38):
We're very congenial. I mean, yeah, people are always saying it.
They're always they're so congenial, so congenial. So we're going
to talk about that. I just realized I don't really
need like a ramp up into this because we're just
going to keep going. This is slating its twenty fifth
anniversary and.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Two in the two thousand.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
Yeah, oh yeah. But should we scare right into it?
You want to hit us with that rough synopsis?

Speaker 1 (14:07):
I would like to. That would be fun.

Speaker 5 (14:08):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (14:09):
When a terrorist threatens to bomb the Miss United States pageant,
the FBI rush is to find a female agent to
go undercover as a contestant. Unfortunately, Gracie is the only
female FBI agent who can look the part, despite her
complete lack of refinement and femininity. She prides herself in

(14:30):
being just one of the boys and is horrified at
the idea of becoming a girly girl.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
A girly girl. That's read, that's read.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
That's how they ended.

Speaker 5 (14:41):
Let's talk about miss.

Speaker 7 (14:44):
A terrorist that.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
I loved it. It's perfect and I loved it. Let's
go to Rotten to Models and hear what they have
to say. Critics have this coming in at our rock
solid for so that's pretty great. Not our wor far
from our best, you know, but they're dumb. What do
they know? Audience members have it coming in at a

(15:08):
cheeky sixty nine percent. Oh why is it cheeky? Tell
me dinner for two? That's what they say in bingo?
Have you ever heard that? Is so funny? I was
at like a pringo with some old people because it
was Bingo and they said that, and I I lost it.

(15:29):
I didn't rest the car. I was dying. I have
never heard it ever.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
That's so funn I am a big fan of that.

Speaker 5 (15:37):
It's real fun. Add it to the repertoire. Please, I
will insist sixty though not bad, certainly better than critics. Yeah, definitely, yeah,
twenty twenty eight better? Oh nice, good for you. He's
our math guy, which isn't saying a lot for us.

(15:59):
Let's go. No, it's not about our hot take.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Hot take.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
That's a hot take.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
That's a hot take, hot hot wax old. Yeah, yeah,
she used hot wax. Hot the crown blew up.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
Oh there you go in sundiary device. Yes, yes, ouch,
that's good. That's yeah, really good. I'll go first on
this one. I love this movie. I think it's a
ton of ton of fun. Uh, Sandy b what a delight, really,
my gosh.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Just really fun.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
It does play into sort of you know, like gender
role stuff that's you know, kind of like not great,
but it's mostly in a pretty like, you know, happy
go lucky kind of thing. They're not really trying to
say anything, you know, it's not like high brow at all.
I wouldn't say, but yeah, just a fun movie with

(17:00):
a lot there's some highbrows with a lot of a
lot of like mixture of physical comedy as well as
just silly moments. We have some great cameos and just
the camaraderie between the gals is all really fun and
silly and you know all that. Uh yeah, don't feel
like I have super hot takes for this movie. I

(17:21):
just really enjoy it. The music in it is way
cooler than I remember, like the soundtrack. I liked it
a lot. One in me. Yeah, I love that. We
have some trivia about the special song that they sing
for the ladies. Oh that'll come later, sticker. Oh what
a tease. I'm a big tease. Big tea's just like
they tease their hair. I don't know they do that great.

(17:46):
I think my hottest take is uh not the not
the whole contest. But I really think Miscongeniality is an
award I could win. I really think I could go
for that if I was in a competition. I'm a
real friendly, everybody's doing great kind of guy. I think
it would work.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
You'd be a lock, it would really work. So I
would for sure bet on that good call.

Speaker 5 (18:09):
So, yes, if we're ever in that scenario, I think
we can count on that. If nothing else, I think so.
I think you're right. Hot takes bruh, that's my hot take.

Speaker 7 (18:18):
That is hot.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
I thought that this was a very cute movie. It's
directed by Donald Peatree. I love his dishes. He has
made some other feel good comedies such as like Grumpy
Old Men, Richie Rich How to Lose a.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
Guy in Ten Days? Ever heard of it? I did
all these? Yes, Oh, no, wonder I love this movie
like all those. That's great.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
He knows his way around a comedy. Wonderful. It was
written by Mark Lawrence, who's done a few Sandy Bee
projects like Forces of Nature and after Miscongeniality, he wrote
and directed Two Weeks Notice with in Hugh Grant, and
he did mis congeniality too. And then he also did

(19:06):
another rom com that I love called Music and Lyrics.
Do you remember that one?

Speaker 5 (19:11):
Oh yeah, what was Hugh.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Grant and Drew barrymore More.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
Yeah yeah, yeah, he's like you would love that.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
It's exactly yea if you haven't seen.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
It, no, I definitely have because he has a huge
piano like in his cool apartment right and stuff. Yeah. Yeah, yeah,
that is a great movie. That was a fun forgot
about that movie a little bit.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
Yeah, it made When I looked at his credits, I
was like, oh, yeah, I really liked that one.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
That's great.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
But yeah, Sandy b makes this movie worth watching. She's
just an absolute treasure. I can't imagine I would have
been super into this movie without her as the lead role.
There are some funny lines, uh, there's some pretty okay performances.
Kind of a weak movie for like the bad guy
and their like motivation. It wasn't like.

Speaker 5 (19:59):
About No, not really at all.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
But I also don't have anything too profound to say
it was. It was pretty good and it made Sandra
Bullock shine even brighter.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
My hot take.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Yeah, they did their best to try and make Sandra
book unattractive and they just still failed miserably. The time
was one of those.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
Come on, man, she's still beautiful.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Right, I know, it's like the She's all that where
she just has glasses on and then takes them off
just like.

Speaker 5 (20:32):
Oh moment, Like oh my god.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
I always find that so silly, Like I feel like
you need to go way over the top to make
that like happen.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
But it was like, okay looking and then just gussy
him up a little bit.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
I don't know, but yeah, but she's just so stunning.
The big reveal though, was it was impressive, like they
really it worked, but she's still just so pretty, you know. Yeah,
that was my hoddest hot take.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
Hot should we talk about our favorite acting performance? The dude?
The dude?

Speaker 6 (21:15):
I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
know that? Or his dude or duder or you know,
el dud reno. If you're not into the whole brevity thing,
you want.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
To go first, Yes, I do, okay, because I got
a hot take Sandra Bullock Sander book.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
Can you believe are someone other than Sandy?

Speaker 1 (21:39):
She completely rocked this role out.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
You had kind of alluded to it in your your take,
but I was so impressed with her physical.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
Comedy, so funny at that stuff.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
Falling over a bunch, just being clumsy.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
All the fighting I was impressed.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
With, like all of the the self defense stuff was
looked like she was really doing it. And but yeah,
I mean she she can do funny, she can do
the the parts that get a little more heart stringy. Totally, well, totally,
She's just she's incredible. I've always enjoyed her since I

(22:20):
first saw her in Demolition Man in nineteen ninety three,
so I'm a big fan of her.

Speaker 5 (22:26):
Do you think like she was just kind of been
funny stuff the whole time, right, because she's really funny
in this movie. Oh yeah, I mean all of those,
all those action movies.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
She was like saying the funny quip.

Speaker 5 (22:42):
Yeah, you know, even Demolition Man, like you said like,
oh for sure, you can take this job and shovel
it and shovel it, just not quite doesn't quite get it.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
That's not right there. Yeah, yeah, Sandy b.

Speaker 5 (22:56):
A clean sweep. Totally agree. I'm kind of with you.
I don't know, other people could have absolutely been in
that part and it probably would have been okay, but
it wouldn't have been the same movie, I don't think,
and so good at this stuff, Like she is down
to earth but also like believable as the badass, but
also you know, so great. She looks great, she's friendly.

(23:19):
It's just wonderful. She's so good in this. I love it. Yeah,
I don't think I really have more than that. Honestly,
she's so funny. Like you said, her physical comedies was
the surprise at the time for me, and I still am.
Just like, she's just so effortlessly good at that is
what it feels like. I'm sure a lot of effort
and care goes into it. But yeah, I guess. So

(23:41):
she's my dude, she's your dude.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
Well, let's talk about some of these supporting roles and
let's choose the two gl what I'll give you the
easy one, you go first.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
Yeah, the Teacher Award could be called the My Cocaine Award.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
I think that would be pretty great. He was just
a leading man back in the day. So it doesn't
quite work.

Speaker 5 (24:03):
I mean, we were so smart calling it the Stanley Tucci.
We can all agree, I think, so we can all
think so.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
I mean, he almost never leads a film. He always
makes it better it's true.

Speaker 5 (24:13):
But Michael Caine is just he's so so great in
this Like he's the perfect amount of like snooty about
the competition, but also does a really good job bringing
her along. But you know, like and he's so funny
and so I don't know, he's just great, so charming.
I love him. He's just wonder He really is, man,

(24:34):
he really is. And he's just that guy. I don't know.
He's so believable in all these roles where he's just
like this kind of swave like debonair, dude. I love it.
It's really wonderful.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yeah, it was fun seeing him take because I've never
seen him do anything like this before.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
Yeah, he killed it. He knocked it right out of
the pack. Absolutely wonderful, wonderful.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
Obviously, Yes, I clearly picked him as well, stand out
for all the reasons you said. He's just wonderful. My
runner up when I think of this movie, Miss Rhode
Island is who I think is great because just that

(25:16):
voice is so silly. Her name is Heather Burns. She
did such a good job. I think of her one
I know it'll come up in quote.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
It's the one, the quote of the movie.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
It's incredible and she just yeah, she plays it's this
weird line of like super ditsy what you think of
for a pageant person, but then just so sweet, so sweet,
Like a lot of those people feel like you think
that it's more like backstabby and that they want to win,

(25:48):
but she's just so supportive of everybody and wants She's like, oh,
you're gonna win, you are, because you're just wonder Like
she just like love bombs people, which was yeah, just
fun to watch. I enjoyed her performance a lot.

Speaker 5 (26:03):
And I love too that you're just like, yeah, I
like her, Like immediately you're just like, yeah, she's cool.
I like her. Yeah, you know, like okay, yeah, she's
just a sweet lady. It's really fun. I love that pick.
Yeah shout out to I know her her character is
not all that great as a bad guy, but Candice
Bergen is just always great. I feel like it's just

(26:25):
wonderful to have her.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
You know, it was just the it was written, the
plot was exactly. She was great.

Speaker 5 (26:32):
I love her character, just not as a bad guy,
yeah exactly. She's just so snooty and you know, has
all her snide comments and I just love it. I
think it's kind of fun. She's like sort of the
pageant mom too, which is kind of William Shatner hilarious
so much. I kind of remembered him being in it more,
which maybe he's in the second one way more, I

(26:55):
guess or something. But he's really funny and the parts he's.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
In like he's dude whim. Shatner is also a treasure. Yeah,
it's so funny, Like what is what an interesting career
he's had to go from, like, you know, top of
the world, Captain Kirk. Everybody thinks you're the coolest. And
he did some other stuff too, like TJ Hooker and
like he was kind of mister TV guy. But then
I felt like he took a left and was just

(27:21):
doing like goofy silly kind of making fun of himself
kind of roles totally, which is so fun.

Speaker 5 (27:26):
And I love him. Yeah, yeah, me too, man. I
think it's great And he's really funny in this too,
And yeah, do you want to shout out anybody else specifically.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Yeah, Benjamin Bratt, another demolition man. I loved him in this.
He was pretty fun. He had some lines that weren't
super great, but.

Speaker 5 (27:47):
He kind of had to put it the like sort
of like machismo misogynist at point.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yes, yeah, but he was still good in that. I thought,
I've always liked him.

Speaker 5 (27:57):
I didn't make the connection that he's in modern family.
He's Manny's dad, and I've never like coupled together that
these were all the same, you know what I mean, Like, yeah, yeah,
because they were at such different points in his life
or whatever.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
But right, yeah, yeah, he's he's usually pretty solid. And
then a big shout out to Ernie Hudson love Ernie. Hell,
he was great as the guy in charge. He lives here.
Did you know that he's in Minneapolis.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
And he lives in Stillwater? Apparently that's what I've heard
for a number of years. Anyway, isn't that weird? I
have no idea from here. I don't think he's from
I think he married a gal from here or Somethingernie
on the.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Pop, Oh my god, that would be, wouldn't that be?
Just feel like, hey, we'll come out to still Water.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
We'll go wherever you need us to go, sir. Yeah,
but yeah, he's great anyway, I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Yeah, he was super fun and he's still so handsome because.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
He must be like a reasonably old guy in that
right at that point.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
Yeah, ish, I mean definitely now twenty five years later.

Speaker 5 (29:01):
Yeah, but he must have been like fifty or something, right, Yeah, handsome.
Good for him, yeah, good for him. For him.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
He was the only other person I wrote down though.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
Let me look at my left chairs or navigated away. Yeah,
me too. Great. The other guys were fun, but no
one else got really much screen time or anything. You know. No,
not a lot of character development in general in this movie.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
I would say the sun.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
Oh he is my least favorite part of the movie.
He did Monroe, Steve Monroe, sorry.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Steve Monroe, Frank Tobin. That didn't do anything.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
Now, that didn't make a lot of sense. No, yeah,
I'm with you, so whatever. Not a two CHI award.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Now, well, let's keep going. Let's pick our favorite scene.
Let's choose the dingo.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
Thank you sons is quite simple, really ingus. I can
talk about my dingas all night long.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I wrote down one, just one, but it's cheating because
it's a lot of the movie. So it's Yeah, it's
the meeting of my and I would like. I love
that meeting in the restaurant. It's so fun. And then
I'd also roll it into the makeover at the hangar, Yes,

(30:29):
with so many people.

Speaker 5 (30:31):
Yeah, dude, it's like.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
It's like the set of like et get all the
people and then just that reveal of her walking and
you're just like, holy you uh yeah you get you
get really nice looking. Yeah, but then she's like hilarious

(30:54):
and falls and it's.

Speaker 5 (30:55):
Just feels so many times in this movie. And they're
also good, all great, they're all great with you.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
But yeah, I just love how sassy he is to her,
well just straight up rude to her.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
Really.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Yeah, all of the transformation was just really fun.

Speaker 5 (31:13):
Yeah, I love that nice. That's really fun. So that's
a lot of the movie. It's a big chee. I
love that montage though, So I'm one hundred percent with you.
I had that written down. I also just enjoyed that
entire I also picked like a pretty big swath of
the movie, but that entire end night of the competition,
you know, when she's back and she's trying to do

(31:36):
the dance and like everyone thinks she lost and that's
why she's freaking out about don't take the crown. Oh
S's genuinely really funny to me. Shatner. Just Shatner just
keeps being like, Oh, he's just trying to make the
show go on, trying to suck.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Great, dude, did you ever know that home Free we
collaborated with him.

Speaker 5 (32:01):
What did you guys do a rocketman or something? No?

Speaker 1 (32:03):
Well, I mean he's kind of like speak singing.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
Yeah we did that. Yeah, And I.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Was like, we have to do a music video for this.
This was years ago.

Speaker 5 (32:15):
I probably can't even know now that you say that,
but I don't remember for sure.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
I can't even think of the name of it.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
That's was it released.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Yeah, it wasn't just lost in you know, we just
we never did a music video for it, Like we
could never connect with him, which makes sense.

Speaker 5 (32:32):
He'd be like, I'm okay.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
Yeah, I'm okay, I'm good.

Speaker 7 (32:39):
Why not me?

Speaker 1 (32:41):
And dude Neil McCoy was on it.

Speaker 5 (32:45):
We had gotten Uh.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
The reason that it even happened was it was through
Jeff Cook from Alabama.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
That makes sense.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
So those two and then he was like, well, I've
been kind of like working with these guys and so
it just kind of worked me. We were on on
his album. It's like the title track, why not me?

Speaker 5 (33:04):
Wow? No, I definitely didn't remember that. That's weird and fun.
I love that, and that's fun.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
I got one degree of separation even though I've never
met him.

Speaker 5 (33:15):
He like heard you guys. Seems like I'm done with them.
I don't need to do anythingmore.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
Yeah, I can't be free. I can't make them out.

Speaker 5 (33:21):
Of those guys. They're not home, nor are they free.
Bo hello, ah, that's really funny. Oh you said you
only wrote down one, right.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
Yeah, I mean I wrote on the pageant stuff too,
just because their pageant scenes are cute.

Speaker 5 (33:38):
This was a harder one to pick, like a scene,
because it does these comedies sometimes they just feel like
you're kind of going like little boop to boop, you know,
and a little bit.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
If I had to pick more, like like just a
scene like when Gracie and Rhode Island are kind of
having their heart to heart.

Speaker 5 (33:59):
Oh yeah, like that, Like.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
That was nice. That was good world building, character development.
And then I also liked when she got the award.

Speaker 5 (34:09):
It was really sweet. Yeah, really fun. I liked too
when the talent thing came up and Michael Caine is
just like, all right, well I'm out of here. I
was never told I had to do this so this
is over. Like that was just a fun little moment.
I liked that she has no talent.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Well, you don't have to say it right in front
of it, come on, she's right there.

Speaker 5 (34:31):
That's fun, fun, good clean fun. But I think for sure, yeah, god,
I'm downright. Yeah. It's so that walk out of the hangar,
and I like the pure number of people they bring in,
like as if it's this like industrial job. It's really
funny to me.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Yeah, and they're freaking out, just like I don't know
if I'm going to be able to get this tangle
out or whatever. I misquoted that, but yeah, I.

Speaker 5 (35:03):
Guess we're getting into some quotes here, so let's pick
that that's the dingus. Let's go into our favorite quotes.
Let's show me the money Show started off, buddy, it
was at the beginning. I didn't remember this line, but

(35:24):
it cracked me up. You're not killing anyone, you peanut
eating bastard. That just really struck me as funny. That
is funny. That that was fun. Let's see, Oh, Michael
Kain is talking about past years and he's like, that
year we lost to the winner who was a deaf
beat You can't beat that. You can't beat that. It's

(35:47):
almost like you can see him a thousand yards stare
in that moment of just like you can't do it,
you can't do it. And also when he's like telling
her how to glide, that scene was pretty funny too,
but he's telling her and he's like, it's all in
the buttocks, don't I look pretty really fun?

Speaker 1 (36:06):
It takes a very secure man, yes to watch.

Speaker 5 (36:08):
Yes, it's so fun. I just love that. Do you
want to do the line of the movie.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
No, I don't need to go for it, keep saying so.
I actually wrote down quite a few.

Speaker 5 (36:19):
Describe your perfect day. That's a tough one. I'd have
to say April twenty fifth, because it's not too cold
or not too hot, not too cold, and all you
need is a light jacket.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
I mean that line perfect is brilliant, it's perfect.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
It's so funny. I get it's really perfect, and she's
not wrong, that's a great day. But it's like, this
is not what they're asking you. Goofball. That's so wonderful.
I love that.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
And then she's like I even had an answer, and
then her answer is just super basic, like walking on
the beach and talking about music in movies.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
Yeah, it's like, okay, is so specific. That's just a good, good,
fun little joke there. I have more. But why did
you say a few years you think I'm.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
Going you want to kiss me?

Speaker 5 (37:19):
You want to hug me?

Speaker 1 (37:22):
That's That's one thing I think about with this movie.
I've definitely stolen that. One that I didn't remember that
I really enjoyed was when she's at the bar eating
the Ben and Jerry's and she says, I'm gonna get
chip faced.

Speaker 5 (37:36):
I didn't remember that either, and I loved it into it.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
I haven't seen a walk like that since Jurassic Park.

Speaker 5 (37:46):
That was good.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
Hey, I'm gliding here. When she's gliding the taxi, the
call out to what is that urban cowboy? The Dustin
Hoffman on Midnight Cowboys a taxi driver, it's definitely not
We've talked about Dustin hoff.

Speaker 5 (38:07):
And that one. I'm pretty sure.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
By the way, what are you planning to do for
your talents?

Speaker 5 (38:16):
Sing?

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Dance, chew with your mouth closed?

Speaker 5 (38:21):
Rude?

Speaker 1 (38:23):
He didn't like that. I'm sorry, what was the question?
I was distracted by the half masticated cow rolling around
in your wide open track.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
I mean that meal was a travesty. She had like
a steak and ketchup and spaghetti.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
I think there was spaghetti.

Speaker 5 (38:38):
What the hell is happening on this plate right now?
I get it.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
That deserves some judgment for sure, eyebrows. There should be two,
I should I like that.

Speaker 5 (38:51):
One really fun, really fun.

Speaker 1 (38:53):
One that I didn't remember that I really enjoyed was
what hemorrhoid ointment? You really think the judges are going
to be looking that closely?

Speaker 5 (39:00):
It's really good. It's really good. I don't think I
never did either, and I love it so much.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Oh that is because I'm a miserable, grumpy elitist and
that works for me. I like that you can keep going.

Speaker 5 (39:18):
I loved it at the beginning when she's like enter
performance in a little film called Arma, Get it on.
I love that. I love a good One of my
favorite parts about her character is she does the snort
when she laughs. She's just like, it's like, so cye,
I love that. Yeah, I'm in a dress, I have

(39:38):
gel in my hair, i haven't slept all night, I'm starved,
and I'm armed. Don't mess with me. Really, that's good.
I think I've used that for a game before at
some point or another. It feels like it. It feels
like it.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
I would have never gotten it.

Speaker 5 (39:52):
Yeah, I don't think anybody did that time, either of
that guy. So after she's seen with Brat right, yes,
she's like, they're like, who's this guy? You can't have
men in your room or whatever, She's like, oh that guy. Yeah,
I was dating him for a while because he had
an incurable disease. I didn't realize it was stupidity, stupidity.

(40:14):
She got him.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
Good, dude, you got him got You're like, his ego
is this?

Speaker 5 (40:21):
Yeah, it's really great. That was fun. I liked it.
Uh oh, little Alwick looks a widow scaled.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
In front of everybody. That wasn't nice.

Speaker 5 (40:36):
Do you have a few more.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
My teeth? What are you gonna do with my teeth?
Hopefully remove the beer stains and steak residue.

Speaker 5 (40:45):
I loved it so much.

Speaker 1 (40:47):
Yeah, one really sweet line and then it turned not sweet.
If I'd ever had a daughter, I imagine she might
might have been something like you, which is perhaps why I've.

Speaker 5 (41:00):
Never reproduced so good.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
That was good, and my last one was the last
time I was this naked in public. I was coming
out of a uterus.

Speaker 5 (41:11):
Hell right, you kind of expected so great. I love that. Also.
I think it's during it's one of the dance numbers
when she falls and Shatner just goes, oh, and it's
really funny. I liked that.

Speaker 1 (41:30):
It's when she moved on to the top five way there.

Speaker 5 (41:35):
Yeah, his little line reading of just oh shit is
so great. I love that so much. And then she
was like, I was like a female rain Man. Oh no,
that that definitely was a rain man. Definitely not rain man.
I thought that was pretty funny. I liked that. Oh,

(41:58):
and we'll be right back with our five or final
five Lesbians interviews. And then the in the equipment room
or the what do they call it, like the production room? Sure,
whatever it is. The one guy's like, can we say lesbians?
And the one just goes you got a problem with that?
You got a problem with that? Pretty fun? I liked that.

(42:19):
I thought that it was fun pretty good.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
Control room maybe I don't know what they.

Speaker 5 (42:23):
Call control room? There you go nice, nice, Yeah, I
think that was all the ones I had. Boom, that
was nice. Well let's go to the crying game Biggs
boo hooo movements.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
So yeah, there, I picked two, and I thought one
of them it was one that I just said in
my show Me the Money Fun. But I thought maybe
at the beginning of this was just the when Michael
Caine says, if you ever had a daughter, she would
be like her because it was sweet. Yeah, then it turned.

Speaker 5 (42:58):
I didn't cry there. I think he came in just
a little too quick with the yeah, yeah, that's why
I'll never have children.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
Yeah right, but then yeah, just the very end when
she cries because she's honored she got miscake.

Speaker 5 (43:13):
Yeah, that part is just sweet, like it's just nice's sweet, it's.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
Nice, and the world bees.

Speaker 5 (43:21):
Yeah, that's nice.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
But I don't think I'm like, maybe there was a
part with Miss Rhode Island during that, but nothing made
me get that close.

Speaker 5 (43:31):
So that was all I nice. So it is just one.
But can I tell you the other one? There was
one that I was kind of close and it was
a cute scene and I liked it. It was just
when all the other gals help her put on her
makeup when she comes like get ready in general, when
she comes back, and they're just like girls, and I
just thought it was actually kind of sweet. It was

(43:51):
just you know, they were all just trying to help.
It was cute.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
Yeah, that was nice.

Speaker 5 (43:55):
I didn't quite cry, but it was close. So just
one for this one. Yay, nicely done, nicely done. Let's
do a little movie trivia here. So miss Rhode Island's
answer to the question the perfect date question was actually
used as an answer in a real life beauty pageant.

Speaker 1 (44:13):
So that really is amazing.

Speaker 5 (44:16):
Wonderful love that.

Speaker 1 (44:18):
I hope that person got writing credit for this.

Speaker 5 (44:21):
So funny. God, that's such as she came up with
a great as such a great answer. I hope she
got extra points because they were like, that's not what
we meant, but good work. M Sandra Bullock purposely didn't
take part in the rehearsals for the first dance scene
so that it was more genuine that her character couldn't
follow the choreography and smart, what a wonderfully easy and

(44:44):
simple but brilliant solution. You know, that's just smart. I
love it. I think I would have opted for that
too and be like, oh, well, it'll make more sense.
The reason for sure.

Speaker 1 (44:55):
It'll make My character wouldn't know, so I shouldn't do
this extra work, right?

Speaker 5 (45:02):
I love it. I love it. Oh, Sandra Book and
Benjamin Bratt did all their own fighting throughout the movie.
Stunt doubles were brought in, but only to make sure
they were using proper form and at one point Bullock
accidentally injured him when she had to kick him in
the calves after after he said, yes, you have to
wear the bathing suit. So she heard him. She heard him,

(45:27):
But you were you were earlier. I think, you know,
Like they looked pretty good doing that. Apparently that was
all them they did.

Speaker 1 (45:34):
They looked really good. I mean those are some real
like wrestling grace. They were doing good.

Speaker 5 (45:38):
It was fun.

Speaker 1 (45:39):
It was fun and also it was very funny. I
should have mentioned it in one of the scenes, but
when they are wrestling and they're both talking, like she's
got two shoes, like her cheeks are pushed together and
he's like getting choked out with her lass and that
was pretty pretty good.

Speaker 5 (46:00):
It's pretty and her talent where she just like beats
the hell out of them basically as her talent after
the Girls, I'll Drink the Water was also pretty fun.
I thought that was pretty good. Oh, the scene with
Gracie coming home after the mission in the restaurant was
only scripted as to be. Gracie comes home and starts boxing,

(46:21):
but the rest, the tripping, the kicking, the bed, the microwave,
ove and all that was all ad libbed, which I
thought was pretty fun and just made for a better scene.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
I think overall, a lot showed out clumsy. She was
that she's like super alone a bachelor.

Speaker 5 (46:36):
Yes, yeah, apparently she kind of just is that clumsy. Though.
At the premiere of the movie, when she got out
of her car, she did actually trip and fall, just
like her character does a few times. Sandy b And
after watching the movie, many attendants thought that she was
she staged tripping out of the car as like a stunt. Funny,

(46:57):
so I think it's funny. There was a supposed to
be a story This is Crazy. Originally, there was supposed
to be a storyline which included Gracie's mother. In the
first scene, after she gets in trouble for beating up
the two boys, her mother was called into the school
to reprimand her. The story behind her mother is that
she's a top FBI agent and then eventually gets killed

(47:17):
in the line of duty. Gracie became an agent to
make her mother proud. This was cut because he thought
it was the Donald Petrie just thought it was too much,
and I agree, yes, too much, that's.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
Way too much.

Speaker 5 (47:31):
Less is more, gang less is more.

Speaker 1 (47:33):
Yeah, maybe let's spend more time on why this lady
is freaking out about getting kicked out.

Speaker 5 (47:42):
Of a patrick to kill people. This is her mom,
she got killed in the Like, what, no, too much?
Too much? Let's see Heather Burns had to learn how
to twirl the baton for her role. Oh, they drew
the line at the flaming baton and they had to

(48:03):
bring in a professional for that that scene.

Speaker 1 (48:05):
So I just thought that was kind of How great
was her reaction when Sandy b was like, at least
I'm not doing doing something stupid like baton twirling. So
then you see your face and she's just like, yeah,
it's such a bummer. Baton twirling can actually be really cool.
I felt so bad for it, right, Yeah, she was

(48:31):
really good. Has she done a bunch of other stuff
that Heather Burns?

Speaker 5 (48:34):
I think so? But yeah, okay, So the movie's theme
song for the Miss United pageant was written by screenwriter
Mark Lawrence and apparently his seven year old son, Clyde Lawrence.
Mark the lyrics and Clyde wrote the music ridiculous. Yeah,

(48:56):
so I guess.

Speaker 1 (49:00):
Was it that? No, it's probably not that. It's probably
the one that William.

Speaker 5 (49:03):
Shatt Yeah exactly, and I can't think.

Speaker 1 (49:06):
Yeah, okay, it's like but I was just like, well
he was like, speak, yeah, that's true.

Speaker 5 (49:10):
So yeah, it worked out. I guess I said that
was fun. We said the parody thing it is Midnight Cowboy.
You're totally right because I actually wrote that down. And
uh as Frank Tobin prepares the explosive crown in the
proper room, the Queen of the Night aria is being

(49:31):
sung on stage. This is from Mozart's Magic Flute, and
the Queen of the Night demands that her daughter kills
someone for her. So it was kind of a nice
little allusion to the pot.

Speaker 1 (49:43):
Just kind of fun.

Speaker 5 (49:44):
I think we all caught that. Yeah, certainly, you know me,
big magic flute guy. Oh, he loves the magic if
you know what I mean, I do love that. If
you know what I'm saying, It's what I have on
my tender profile. I don't know. That was all the
trivia I had, though, Did you have any other stuff that?
If I am?

Speaker 1 (50:05):
The only thing I saw was Matt Dillon was originally
cast as Eric Matthews as the Benjamin Brad part.

Speaker 5 (50:12):
He could have totally done it. He could have done it. Think,
so he's a little I can only ever think of
him as something about Mary though. So he's a little
It's tough. I mean he's been in a lot.

Speaker 1 (50:23):
I mean he wasn't that and you me and dupre
He's been in.

Speaker 5 (50:27):
A lot of movies. Yeah, for sure, for sure.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
But yeah, he would have done it fine. I thought
it worked well with Benjamin Brad.

Speaker 5 (50:34):
I liked Benjamin Brad. He was a little more believable
as like the kind of ladies manish.

Speaker 1 (50:39):
Yeah. I feel like I feel like Matt Dylan is
older than Sandy b but they probably are around the same.

Speaker 5 (50:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (50:47):
Yeah, hard to say anyway.

Speaker 5 (50:49):
Ah fun what about Judgment Day?

Speaker 1 (50:53):
Judgment Day, we know, we know there's a sequel.

Speaker 5 (50:56):
I believe it's armed and fabulous.

Speaker 1 (50:58):
You believe right in it.

Speaker 4 (51:00):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (51:02):
I don't think it was as good. However, they did
add Regina King, which is always always a good call
because she's wonderful, the best.

Speaker 5 (51:14):
Yeah. So yeah, I feel like it wasn't as good,
but it was fun. It was okay, Remember Yeah, Dietrich
Bader was in it. I think right. Oh, sure, I
watch tonight. That sounds pretty fun. Sounds pretty fun.

Speaker 1 (51:32):
Get caught in nice nice nice? Well, Uh, do you
want to do a last Man's stance?

Speaker 5 (51:40):
Of course I do. Of course did send out a
twe remember too, because I didn't think about it till
right now.

Speaker 1 (51:48):
I did think of it, and I was like, hey,
tell us, uh, tell us an actor or actress with
a large filmography that you enjoyed. To be real honest.
Didn't get a lot of responses. It's a little early
in the day, people are working. But I did get
a few, and some really really good actors. First, we

(52:13):
have Robert de Niro, which I don't know if we've
ever done. We have Nathan Fillion, who I love, but
that will be a quick game.

Speaker 5 (52:22):
Yeah, that would be He is great, though I agree.

Speaker 1 (52:25):
I do love him. Then we have Susan Sarandon, which
I know we've never done. I also don't think that
that would go super long, but.

Speaker 5 (52:37):
She's great.

Speaker 1 (52:37):
Then we have somebody gave us three options, Kate Blanchette,
Maherschela Ali and Paul Rudd. I do think we've done
Paul Rudd, but not sure.

Speaker 5 (52:48):
I have up here if nothing else.

Speaker 1 (52:52):
And then then we have John Goodman and Steve Buscemi.
So I think, out of all of the names that
I threw at you, I think I think i'd probably
between John Goodman and Yeah, and.

Speaker 5 (53:09):
I feel like you crushed me at Goodman. So let's
do de Niro.

Speaker 1 (53:14):
Let's do I'm just gonna double check. Also the Avid indoors. Oh,
I just reposted it. So yeah, those are our options.
So we're gonna say Robert de Niro.

Speaker 5 (53:28):
Yeah. Uh, then we have to say a big.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
Thank you to Marsha Greasiac for giving us Robert de Niro. Yeah.
De Niro's done some movies.

Speaker 5 (53:42):
Bro. Yeah, I feel like I'm gonna end up looking
like an idiot here.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
No, you stop it, don't you say that.

Speaker 5 (53:52):
I won't. I won't. I'll never say it.

Speaker 1 (53:57):
I'll never tell every day. Do you want to start
it off?

Speaker 5 (54:04):
Uh? Sure? The Irishman?

Speaker 1 (54:08):
The Irishman? You say sure, then I'll say the aforementioned
taxi driver.

Speaker 5 (54:16):
That's a kitten. Uh, raging ball, raging ball.

Speaker 1 (54:25):
I literally just wrote that down.

Speaker 5 (54:26):
Think I've ever seen that. I should really watch that one?

Speaker 1 (54:29):
That is a bomber of a movie.

Speaker 5 (54:31):
Is it Pops?

Speaker 1 (54:32):
Okay, it's well done, that's true. But Jake Lamatta wasn't
real great at least the portrayal.

Speaker 5 (54:41):
I don't know, Jake. Let's do uh, let's do heat
good one, good one. I almost just said a movie
that he's not in. That would have been silly.

Speaker 1 (54:57):
That would have been very silly.

Speaker 5 (54:58):
Don't know why. I thought, uh uh is it Awakenings.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
It is Awakenings.

Speaker 5 (55:08):
Okay, that one. I'm gonna say that one. I was thinking,
I was thinking that movie, but in my head I
said one flow over the Cuckar's Nest, and that was
I was like, oh, these are different. They are in
sort of.

Speaker 8 (55:19):
A facility, hospitally settings. Yes, so Awakenings, Awakenings. Let's do
The Deer Hunter. Another real uplifting film.

Speaker 5 (55:31):
Not great.

Speaker 1 (55:33):
Meet the Parents, Meet the Foxers, meet the kids.

Speaker 5 (55:39):
No, that's the next one. No, But isn't there four?
Is there only three? I thought there was just three.
I thought they did talk about the kids at one
point they do meet the kids. It's not it's not
what's it called them the parents?

Speaker 1 (55:55):
I'm going to use it for mine.

Speaker 5 (56:00):
Those kids. Uh damn it.

Speaker 1 (56:08):
I will get it.

Speaker 5 (56:10):
You are. I'll just say, men of honor, Men of honor.

Speaker 1 (56:14):
You could have held on too, That for sure, I
think that.

Speaker 5 (56:17):
But as we get lower on the list.

Speaker 1 (56:19):
I can't the movie you're thinking of his little blockers.

Speaker 5 (56:24):
Yeah, you're right, you're.

Speaker 1 (56:26):
Right, damn it, that was it?

Speaker 5 (56:29):
I get it. Wasn't he in the Night at the
Museum movies?

Speaker 1 (56:36):
No, And the only reason I know that is because
I watched all three of them like two weeks.

Speaker 5 (56:42):
Okay, well that's good, because I was. I could have
talked myself into that. I feel like, no, then I
will ignore that that was a test ignored you more
than wrong, guess certainly.

Speaker 1 (56:52):
I mean Robin Williams was in all those Yeah, that
might have been who you be? But either right not
to dirty Grandpa, Dirty Grandpa. I wrote that one down,
nice one that was fun, A little small role that
he did.

Speaker 2 (57:12):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (57:14):
I really liked this movie called star Dust and he
was kind of.

Speaker 5 (57:19):
He played this like, oh yeah, that was like.

Speaker 1 (57:23):
Would wear women's clothing and a fun time.

Speaker 5 (57:26):
But you must have watched that same kid, right, because
I feel like it cos.

Speaker 1 (57:30):
It's not that No. It came out when we were
kind of living in that same building.

Speaker 5 (57:34):
Really.

Speaker 1 (57:36):
That is when I watched it, I think, and it
stuck in my brain pretty good.

Speaker 5 (57:40):
I liked it cool.

Speaker 1 (57:41):
It's like the only thing I can think of that
Charlie Cox did outside Wait it.

Speaker 5 (57:45):
Starred us the like almost Fantasy one too. Okay, that's
funny because like Michelle Fifer love those, so that's kind
of fun.

Speaker 1 (57:54):
Yeah, but that one I really liked.

Speaker 5 (57:55):
Yeah, I like that. I'm gonna say limit now, good car.
I just thought of it just now. Yeah, and really
small role. Well, I didn't know he's like the main
bad guy of sorts. Oh.

Speaker 1 (58:14):
I thought that he like meets him at the very end.

Speaker 5 (58:18):
No, he works for him for a while. I think
maybe I'm conflating. Okay, he's definitely in it though, Okay
I say that.

Speaker 1 (58:29):
I won't say this. I have other ones. But was
he in Machete?

Speaker 5 (58:35):
Oh? I don't know that, I would remember.

Speaker 1 (58:37):
I think, do you care if I look up Machete
real quick?

Speaker 5 (58:41):
Don't care at all? A little bud that you're trying
to stunt on me like this, But yeah, go ahead,
come on, I more.

Speaker 1 (58:50):
I'm just curious. Yes, he's senator.

Speaker 5 (58:53):
That's a good call. I liked that silly and fun.
That was a good time for sure. Uh, silver Lining's playbook,
good call as the Papa with the gambling.

Speaker 1 (59:07):
Yeah, of course, I'm trying to think if he did
any of the other David or Russell.

Speaker 5 (59:12):
I know. I was trying to think of that too,
but I don't. Was he in the infomercial one? That
was the one I thought he might be in, but
I couldn't remember.

Speaker 1 (59:22):
No, he's not in Joy. Well maybe he is, I
don't remember.

Speaker 5 (59:27):
I don't really. I didn't like Joy as much as
the other.

Speaker 1 (59:30):
It wasn't as great. Yeah, okay, all right, I have
analyzed this.

Speaker 5 (59:42):
Oh nice, good call. Sorry, I was just thinking of
another movie while you said that. Analyzed this, that's great?
So then is he an analyzed that? Okay? I was like,
that's going to come right back at me. Fun, that's
Billy Crystal.

Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
Yeah. I think I think he did that before Meet
the Parents, and that was kind.

Speaker 5 (01:00:04):
Of like his lightning up. Yeah, that's fun.

Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
Well, okay, I'm gonna go with the Big Dog good Fellas.

Speaker 5 (01:00:16):
Oh yeah, we haven't said that. It almost was like,
oh well obviously that yeah, it's silly, okay, nice. Uh
a movie I really liked a lot. The Apprentice, I
think is what it's called the It's not the the Intern. Sorry,
the Intern.

Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
That was fun?

Speaker 5 (01:00:35):
Yeah, the Intern. Sorry, Yeah, I knew that's a fun movie.
I like that movie. That is a good time.

Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
That was it was super cute. I'm I'm gonna go casino.

Speaker 5 (01:00:47):
Yeah that makes sense. I feel like I'm running out,
which is probably not great. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
I mean he's done a ton of movies, but.

Speaker 5 (01:01:01):
Yeah, I feel like quite a few of them are
in that older period that we're just not great at either,
you know what I mean. Maybe they're not Oh, bring
a suit and something. Mm hmmm mm hmm. Is he

(01:01:24):
also in Oh, I would be the one to know that,
And I don't remember. I was thinking. Was in two
zach Efron movies? Was he Mike and Damny wedding dates too?

Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
No, I'm just thinking at Dirty Grandpa? Now, aren't I
Dirty Grandpa?

Speaker 5 (01:01:45):
Yeah? Mm hmmm, poops. I might be out buddy, I
might be out.

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
There. There's so many more. I'm having a hard time though.
That I thought of was one that I know we
both watched for the first time recently in the last
couple of years. It was called Midnight Run.

Speaker 5 (01:02:09):
Oh, good call. Yeah, yeah, totally.

Speaker 1 (01:02:12):
That one, and then the three that were I was
kind of holding on too because they're deep cuts. Is
a Showtime which a lot of people didn't see. It
was him and Eddie Murphy and Renee Russo. It came
out like two thousand and one through two thousand and
three ish.

Speaker 5 (01:02:30):
It was early college for me.

Speaker 1 (01:02:33):
I watched that one a lot. It was fun. Then
one that I didn't like very much with him and
Bill Murray and Uma Thurman called mad Dog and Glory,
which was early nineties.

Speaker 5 (01:02:45):
Mid You saw that one.

Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
It wasn't great. And then one that our UMD acting
professor was in was called Jackknife.

Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:03:00):
I forgot that movie existed.

Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
Yeah. Nice, But there's there's so many.

Speaker 5 (01:03:06):
Yeah, let me pull it up here. I was hoping
I might think of some more, but I haven't. Well,
the first one under his name is jack Jackie Brown.

Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
Jackie Brown.

Speaker 5 (01:03:14):
I thought, oh yeah, Jackie Brown, good call. Yeah. He
was in Cape Fear, which is the first one that
shows up. Yep, Cape Fear.

Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
He was terrifying in that.

Speaker 5 (01:03:25):
Sorry navigating movies.

Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Yeah, this new one. There's two new ones. Ten Soldier
in the Alto Nights. Oh yeah, that.

Speaker 5 (01:03:41):
Ezra movie which I haven't seen yet.

Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
Ye I saw that on a plane.

Speaker 5 (01:03:48):
The Far Moon that just came out.

Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
We should have gotten more Morri Scorsese.

Speaker 5 (01:03:53):
The Amsterdam. I never watched The War.

Speaker 1 (01:03:57):
With grand War with Grandpa, and I was that a sequel? Oh, Joker?
Forgot about Joker.

Speaker 5 (01:04:07):
He was the late night show guy.

Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
Huh exactly.

Speaker 5 (01:04:11):
I forgot about that comedian.

Speaker 1 (01:04:13):
The comedian Hands of Stone.

Speaker 5 (01:04:15):
He was in joy Oh dang nice? So you won twice?

Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
Called it the Intern like you said, grudge match, which
I never watched. He is he in Slide?

Speaker 5 (01:04:27):
I thought American Hustle? But I wasn't sure.

Speaker 1 (01:04:31):
Me neither, dude. I was like, was he in any
other David o' russell?

Speaker 5 (01:04:35):
But I guess it was uncredited, so it must have
been small, okay. Oh, last Vegas, Last Vegas.

Speaker 1 (01:04:42):
I never saw the Family Killing season, the Big Witning.
Oh my gosh, look at all.

Speaker 5 (01:04:46):
There's so many. I haven't seen a lot of these,
so that makes me New Year's Eve. Oh, chete, that's
a good pull. That was a good poll.

Speaker 1 (01:04:57):
I saw a righteous kill. Don't remembered at all. Him
and Pacinas seven crazy.

Speaker 5 (01:05:07):
I see the good Shepherd. Yeah, shark Tail. He was
a voice on the score. He was in.

Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
Yeah about Him and Norton and Brando and Angela Bassett
fifteen minutes.

Speaker 5 (01:05:23):
I saw.

Speaker 1 (01:05:26):
Roan gets brought up in like Car Chase, Copland, Copland,
Marvin's rom Sleepers, the Fan. I saw all of those.
Oh my gosh, a Bronx Tale back draft. I didn't
remember that.

Speaker 5 (01:05:46):
Either, The Untouchables, dude, he played.

Speaker 1 (01:05:52):
Wow, Once upon a Time in America, The King of Comedy.

Speaker 5 (01:05:58):
Wow, Oh my gosh. Come oh the Godfather part too, bro,
And now I've never seen that so oh, but still.

Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
You should have got The Godfather Part two. Okay, that's embarrassing.

Speaker 5 (01:06:11):
Well, it's old.

Speaker 1 (01:06:15):
I'm gonna tell you, yeah, I get to say what
our top five Michael Caine film's draft.
