are you Bud?
Speaker 3 (00:51):
I'm doing great, pal, just chilling out here. How are you?
Speaker 1 (00:55):
I am good. I'm in Nashville. We're doing some rehearsals
for some upcoming tours. Love it, love it, and so
far it's been pretty easy. We've just been kind of
like going through music and stuff. Tomorrow, Kristin Denahey, our
lovely choreographer, is going to be staging us.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
So she's so great. I haven't seen her for so long,
and we.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Haven't seen her in a long time either. The last
few things we've like done it just kind of via
video so this would be nice. Yeah, we'll take you
to hang out. She's the best, She is the best. Yep,
so excited to get going on that.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
And but yeah, is there is this like the choreo
heavy era for you guys, like we're really I can't imagine.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
We did get Adam bestie and who it can move
very well. That's true.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
So stuff where he does stuff and you guys look
at him.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Sure, yeah, yeah, she knows our limitations and there are
many many.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Like just uh, this is pretty much what we got
to offer you.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Maybe we can walk to that side of the stage
at this.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Part makes you guys look great. And you guys are
not bad dancers, You're just just not good dancers. That's
the one. That's the one.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah, anything else new and exciting?
Speaker 3 (02:14):
I don't know, man, it feels like fall. That's pretty exciting.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
And it has been kind of crazy. Yeah, and I guess.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Football will have started when they're listening to this.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
So so excited for that.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
I can't wait. That's kind of it. Yeah, I don't know,
I've just been been hanging out.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Right now is the time of the great Minnesota get together?
Are you going to make your way there? Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, no, I'm not going to do that. Well, I'm
leaving town tomorrow, so help either going north. But I
just haven't been very enthused to go to that the
last couple of years. I don't know why. I've just
been like, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Yeah, I mean there's a ton of pays.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
I would get in for free, sure, either with you
or with my own group.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Yeah. We haven't sung there in a long time.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Man, spend a minute, right and then you know, because
you'd just be there and then you would only have
to be there for a little bit. You could like
do the things and then skidatle Yeah, which I.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Could do, but it doesn't really excited me.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
All that much, if I'm honest.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Sure, Yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
They've had lovely weather though, so good for them.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Good for them. It's usually very very hot.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
I know, and it's so nice now, very cool. Nice.
Have you been seeing any movies my friends?
Speaker 4 (03:30):
You know?
Speaker 5 (03:31):
I have.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I have been seeing movies during the last part. I
recorded it up at our cabin because I was on
vacation with my family. You were, and that week my
dad and I went to the Park Rapids Theater. It's
very old, very cool, but they've they've redone something, so
it's like, sure, it wasn't like going back to the
nineteen fifties, which I was a bit. I was kind
(03:55):
of hoping for that a little bit, you know, like
a little bit of that would be nice. But it
was still like a great sco and all that. But anyway,
we went and saw Nobody Too.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Oh, how was it? I haven't seen that yet?
Speaker 5 (04:07):
Weird.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Oh, I thought for sure you would have seen it.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
I've seen other things for some reason.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Yeah, we had the best time. My dad really wanted
to see it. It is a ridiculous movie with all
of the violence and yeah, man, we just we were laughing.
We were we haven't had that much fun of the
movies in a very long time. That was very very
glad that he suggested that we go there. It was
(04:35):
between Nobody Too and The Naked Gun.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
I was.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
He was like, Nobody Too, we gotta go see it.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Wow, Yeah, yeah, called down.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
It was fun, man, it was all about it. I
would yeah, I was. I wouldn't say it's as good
as the first one, probably sure, And it kind of
turns like a little home alone eat a little bit,
which is so much fun.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
I would recommend watching it. You know, it's just it's
so much violence, So people that don't like that should
not watch it, right, But like, if you got some
buddies or something that you want to watch it with.
That's how I watched it the first time in the
first Nobody, and it was just so much fun. This
one will also do this for you if you're into it.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
I did just recently do a rewatch of the first one.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
I wish I would have done that before I saw it.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Yeah, that makes sense, that's kind of I was like,
you know, oftentimes I'm like, I should have watched this again,
so I'm just gonna do it preemptively. It was great,
So yeah, I'm excited to see the second one for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Yeah, dude, Yeah, it's a good time. You'll dig it.
What movie have you been watching?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
I went to the theater and saw Freakier Fried.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Wow, tell me all about it.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
We both went to the theater and saw very films.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
I liked it so much more than I ever thought
I would.
Speaker 5 (06:07):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
I liked the first one a lot back in the day.
I thought was super fun. Jamie Lee Curtis is great.
I had a huge crush on Lindsay Lohan back in
the day, so it was perfect back in the day.
This was really fun. I don't know, like it was.
It was a silly premise obviously, and it you know,
they replayed a lot of the same tricks, but those
(06:28):
two are super funny still. The two girls they get
because they're they're doing it's it's like their spin on it.
For the second one is the Lindsay Lohan and Jamie
Lee Curtis swap places with Lindsay Lohan's daughter and then
the like step daughter of her new bow basically, so
(06:50):
there's like some new blood in there as well, you
know and stuff. But yeah, it was it was cute.
It was it was dumb, right, but it had some
heart to it and it was really funny in spots.
I had a great time. I really liked it. Maybe
it was one of those where I was I went in,
I was like, I mean, I'm going to have a
good time, but this is stupid, and then I ended
(07:11):
up really liking it. I don't know, but it was fun.
The most off putting part though, was that Manny Jacinto
guy from Oh Yes, Isn't It and has an English accent,
and I was like, I can't. I'm having a hard
time with this.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Right is he British? Originally?
Speaker 3 (07:31):
I think like part of the plot is they're deciding
where the family's gonna go. Is it gonna be London
or stay in la And I was like, well, you
couldn't have just made it like New York. That's still
a big move.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Right Is he a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars in this?
Speaker 3 (07:47):
He's not? And I honestly I just wanted his character
Jason to be in this.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Movie because that was such a funny bit.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
It's so good. I'm actually trying to rewap because I
never finished good.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Play Oh Comte the whole way, so.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
I'm rewatching it a little bit right now. Cool, but
that's not what I can like hammer through because it's slow,
like philosophy heavy at points, like it is silly and
fun but also I don't know anyway, it was just
fun to see him. But Jamie Lee Curtis, dude, she
has still got it brother nice. She's the best. So
(08:22):
it was really fun. I had a good time. If
you're looking for something to watch with the kids, maybe
I think everyone would like it so cool here how
about streaming? Have you been streaming anything. Yes, so much.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
And we had mentioned before, but it's close to our
favorite time of year, the NFL season. Hell yeah, so
I went to Netflix and binged the second season of Quarterback.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Oh I haven't seen that? Okay, how was that?
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yeah? Man, another great season. This time they focused on
Jared Goff from the Lions, Joe Burrow from the Bengals,
and they just couldn't get enough for Kirko Chains from
last year. So yeah, they they brought him back while
he's on his new team, the Atlanta Falcon season. It was, yeah,
(09:11):
it was. It was pretty compelling because Jared Goff had
a great season, Joe Burrow played great on a bad team,
and Kirk Cousins ended up losing his job to the
rookie they drafted, which was pretty dramatic. So and like
that was the year where Burrow's house got broken into,
Like this was quite the year to film those guys. Yeah,
(09:36):
I love how they do these. Yeah, we got to
see a bunch of Vikings clips, although some not so
great ones since it was against the Lions. Yeah, but yeah,
it still got me, got me stoked for the NFL season.
It is. It is definitely worth checking out I was
just thinking.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
The other day. I was like, this is our podcast.
We should just do necessary roughness because we want to
do it it because.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Of course, yeah, let's do it. I know we talked
about that. No, let's do it. Let's do it. Love
to because we both love it. Let's do It's like
not a year, but who cares what that will be
the next thing.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
I hope you're into it because I'm incited.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Dude. I I loved that movie.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Though it comes up we know the time, Well, bne
of us, that's great, it's great, it's great. Yes, I
love it it. Okay, let's do it.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Well hey, no, no, no, I don't think you talked
to me about what you? Uh did you?
Speaker 3 (10:34):
And I might have been confused because I'm just going
to pick another theater movie because I've been a theater
going theend. I just saw last night, Honey, don't the
new Cohen philm the Cohen.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Wow. I really haven't seen much for this at all
because I've kind of been staying away.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
It's a Coen movie, so it's a it's got silliness
abound and like really dense. I don't know, it's very strange.
They they told the line, but I mean like silly
and also serious. So well, I don't know. They do
it a great job. This one is more.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Can you answer me one question? Is it Margaret Quality's
same character from Driveway Dolls or is it different?
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Different? Different? Gal Okay, really fun character though really interesting.
It's kind of a it's set in current day, but
it is kind of like film noirri as. You know,
they kind of like that style. I got that.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
From Aubrey Plaza in the In the trailer, I love
the clickity claffy heels.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
There's a lot of that stuff. Some great cast you know,
they can get whoever they want, probably at this point
to be in it. Some great cast members that I
don't want to ruin because a couple of them are
like kind of surprisy at least they were to me
anything about it.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
I guess the trailer, I think I only saw Aubrey Plaza,
Margaret Quality, Charlie Day. Those are only three that I
can remember.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah, yeah, and Charlie Days, right, and they are all
the people you saw are really really fun. But yeah,
it's it's a fun movie. It's so stylized, which is
really fun. It looks like an old movie that was
filmed today, you know, kind of deal. But yeah, it
was really fun. I had a great time with it.
We were giggling away in the old in the old
(12:17):
theater there and just having a grand time.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
That's fun.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
It's lovely. It was lovely.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
But now should we do some plugs?

movie we're talking about, and for this one, top five
favorite movie bus scenes really fun, really fun.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Harder than I thought to find enough, but fun but fun.
There was enough, but you know, they just definitely enough.
You had to kind of search a little bit for it.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
I thought it was gonna be harder, to be honest.
I had been like, we're gonna have to scour the internet,
and I feel like it didn't really take me that long.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Well, I'm a slow learner. I don't know what to
say to you. I don't know what you want from me.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
A lot of bus movies.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
There's lots a lot of bus movies, and we're here
today to talk about one of those bus movies. It
is the This is the anniversary twenty fifth.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Twenty fifth, two thousand. It was it was a two thousand.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
The twenty fifth anniversary of almost famous Rob and Quist story.
Now I'm just kidding, your famous.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
Famous adjacent you're there almost I'm almost almost famous.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
It is an app title for your work. It works well,
a lovely film and we had to get a guy
who just I think loves this movie more than most others.
I think a lot. So let's go up for Timmy
Saints Honor.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
What's up Timmy?
Speaker 5 (14:41):
Hey, guys, how are you doing? Oh?
Speaker 1 (14:44):
We're so good, so good?
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Oh are you?
Speaker 5 (14:48):
I'm really good? How are you? Guys?
Speaker 3 (14:50):
You are really good?
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Doing better now? I'll tell you that we're more handsome
every time I see you. I can't believe that you're
working on that.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
I don't like it. I mean, I mean, you look good.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
I'd like to say the same about you.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
I would too, I would just kidding you. Guys. Gosh, Oh,
we're so excited to have you pal.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Yeah, dude, we tried to do this one. We might
have tried to do this like five years ago, and
it just I couldn't get anybody to do this. And
then I was chatting to you about it, and You're like, oh, dude,
I love this movie.
Speaker 5 (15:26):
So I couldn't find anybody who wanted to tackle with this.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Nobody wanted to talk about almost famous.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
I remember we were surprised. We were like, what a
bunch of these musician people we know and no one cares.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
I think there were a few that really wanted to
But when we were trying to record the scheduling. Yeah,
but then uh, talking with you, I was like, we
got it.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
We gotta have Timmy on into it.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
It's all happening.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
It's all happening, man, Any excuse, all happening? Any excuse
we didn't ask before and you got anything? You want
to plug?
Speaker 5 (15:57):
Absolutely not. Nope. Okay, listen to.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Home pre music.
Speaker 5 (16:04):
We're doing that.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Sorry to jump a lot of it.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Yeah, we are going to be on the road pretty
much from September to January, so schedule it will be.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
So the question you're taking a bus? Are you fired?
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Well, we were going to do you know, both really,
but once you get onto the tour, it'll mostly be
on the bus.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Yeah, you take a play to our cities.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
I'm just saying yeah, true to make up the difference
on the back.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
I don't have that kind of budget. Let's just be
real that honest.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
People don't know how expensive the bus is a little.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Yes, but at least we're not in the conversion van
and trailer anymore.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
So things are good there. Yeah, well, very fun. We
should we just get right into our guys, I think so.
Should we start talking some almost famous let's do ro
will you get to start with the rough synopsis I Would.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Love To Set in nineteen seventy three, it chronicles the
funny and often poignant coming of age of fifteen year
old William, an unabashed music fan who is not uninspired.
He is inspired by the seminal bands of the time
when his love of music lands him an assignment from
Rolling Stone magazine to interview the up and coming band Stillwater,
(17:31):
fronted by lead guitar Russell Hammond and lead singer Jeff b. B.
William embarks on an eye opening journey with the band's tour,
despite the objections of his protective mother.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Done dune, dun nice, Nice to John.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Thanks.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
So let's see what Rotten Tomatos thinks of this one.
Critics have it coming in at a rock solid ninety.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
One boom boom.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
And then audience members have it at ninety two ninety
two and thinks this is fresh as pale baby love it.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
You know what's I was surprised by it not on
the IMDb Top two fifty.
Speaker 5 (18:11):
I'm right like shock and disappointed.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
But no, it's outside of it. Now. There's just too
many good movies.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Does it tell you like if it ever was on there.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
It had to have been on there.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
That's I assume. But you know, they just keep making
these movies, so I just.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Yeah, I don't. I don't have that information in front
of you.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
That's fair, that's fair. Wow, that's crazy. Well, let's talk
about what we think should we get into our hot.
Speaker 5 (18:37):
Ta ho take?
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Oh spicy, Ah, that's a hot take. That's a hot take.
Lightning on the Plane got my favor.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Yeah, Electricity, that's pretty spicy. Sure, certainly their interpersonal you
know interactions were pretty spicy. I will go first. Okay,
this movie a lot. This is not one that I've
seen like a ton of ton of times for some reason,
but I've seen it a handful and I really like it.
(19:09):
It's very fun. Obviously. I love that it features like,
you know, musicians on the road and a sort of
starting from when they're smaller up to when they're really
hitting it and band dynamics and stuff. That's all fun
and cool. I couldn't believe how many great comedic actors
are in this movie, Like, just in this movie.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
It blew my mind.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
It's insane. How many the Tucci is gonna be insane
for this one. And I have to admit something right
off the top, because I feel like it's gonna come
up a lot. I think I watched the director's cut.
Oh we usually that's not a big deal. It's like
forty minutes.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Yeah, it is forty minutes longer. I saw that and
I was like, I'm not watching it this time. Maybe
another time.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
I didn't realize until I already had started it and
was like quite a bit in, so I was like, oh, well,
so hopefully I don't say a bunch of stuff that's
not in the uh the actual film leg cut.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
I hope you do mention some things so I can
call it. One thing that's missing from the non director's
cut is they kill the wind scene Petty Lean dancing
in the gym.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
That's regular.
Speaker 5 (20:22):
It's there, but it's like abbreviat shorter.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
Yeah, so just bear with me if I'm talking about
lines or scenes or something that aren't in it. I
kind of didn't realize, like I said, until halfway through,
So I felt a little bad about that. But just
a super fun movie about like various people of various
ages coming of age in their own ways. I think
(20:51):
one thing that we learn as we get older is
there are different points of our lives where we're at
that sort of like coming of age, maturation points, you know,
various levels and for various reasons. But yeah, I just
I think this movie is super cool. It's very fun,
it's very hay up, and it's a fun like period
(21:12):
piece from you know, not a period that we cover
a ton, although I feel like we're doing it more
and more so maybe I'm wrong about that, but I
really like it. I really enjoy it. The music is amazing,
all the actors are great. But my hottest take is
hot take. It is a good thing that this kid
can write because he runs like a dork every time
(21:35):
he runs in this movie. I was just like, dude,
what are you doing? When?
Speaker 5 (21:40):
When does he run? In the movie?
Speaker 3 (21:42):
Well, in the director's cut at the very all, he's
constantly running.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
He's on the track team.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
He's just like un running down the street looking for
her cab, or like when he's just running to his
mom's car, he just runs like a door.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
I love that take. That's a hot.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Strong But the whole movie I was just like, what
is this kid doing? And yes, I understand it's weird
of me to say that. I get it.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
He's uncool man.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
That's he's uncool, We're uncool. That's why we're at home
or whatever. He's a book, but I love it.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
That's a hot take, bro. I have loved this movie
since the first time I saw it. It's written and
directed by the very talented Cameron Crow, who's given us
Say Anything, Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky, and a whole bunch more.
This particular film was nominated for four Oscars, only one
one of them for Best Writing. Francis and Kate both
(22:55):
were up for Best Supporting. I know might have been
just Best Picture too. I'm not sure. The cast that
he got together in this film is bonkers. So many
people who weren't big names before this movie have now
become huge names. And I did not remember some of
the smaller ones, so that was just so much fun
on this rewatch. So many things to love about this movie.
(23:19):
The characters he's created are all fascinating. It's a coming
of age story, which I tend to really enjoy those usually.
It's about a guy who's obsessed with music, which I
can appreciate. Shows life on the road, which I know
a bit about. Yeah, it's just a movie that makes
me feel good one that I'm so glad I got
(23:40):
to rewatch for this pod. The performances from everyone are incredible.
The music is great. Like you said, I can't he
tinied answer and not think of this movie. So yeah,
I love all that my hot take. A part that
ruined this for me is the running. No. A part
(24:03):
that ruined this for me was how young they made
Penny Lane And I didn't remember that she was that young.
She could have been. She could have been a care
free adult living this life. It wouldn't have changed anything.
It certainly didn't have to be a sixteen year old.
It grossed me out, and we confirmed she was sixteen.
Speaker 5 (24:20):
No, no, no, no, she she wasn't. So camera Crow has
said that he intentionally left her age ambiguous, but intentionally
made her not be young. I know that. The one
scene he describes it as like baiting him into telling
the truth, not her admitting.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
That was how I took it too, because she's like,
what are you six to? You know?
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Like like doesn't but she says, like doesn't the truth
just sound weird?
Speaker 5 (24:45):
Doesn't just sound different? Yeah? I researched it because it
also creeped me out, like why is no one how
rapey this movie is, yes, dude, and it was distracting,
and it led me to a rabbit not a fun
Google search, but gets you to cavern Crow, saying like
he intended it to be ambiguous and didn't want it
to be a distracting factor. Although I'm guessing you know,
(25:08):
it's semi out of my biographical which we haven't mentioned yet.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
But right, and a ton of these rock stars did
hook up with super young women, like I'm sure, but like.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
To make it like the heart of this movie and
to have it be someone that young. I love that
if that's the case. But that scene always made it
seem like she was sixteen years old to me. That's
how I've always taken it. I disagree.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
And also she's been on the scene for like several
years at this point as well. They make it seem
like so she had to be underage at some point.
So yeah, we had similar thoughts where I was like,
that's yucky.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
I don't like yeah, no, you know, she was twenty
one when she they came out, so like she was
already pretty young. Yeah, she could have just been that
age and that then I would have been like sweet, awesome, Yeah, cool, totally.
But it makes me very happy be if that is
the case, Tommy.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
That's how I'm going at it because it makes Russell
completely irredeemable. If yeah, if she like there's and part
of the movie that's so great is that he kind
of is redeemable, you know that, just like Francis mcgarmand
tells him he is that he can still become something.
So yeah, I read it that she's eighteen cool and it's.
Speaker 6 (26:25):
I would much rather believe that. Yeah, yes, okay, cool,
Well then is. But it's pretty hot, buddy, it's pretty hot.
I like, Okay, work, good work, tell me what you got, buddy.
Speaker 5 (26:38):
This movie is so good. I unlike you because I've
seen this. This is in my top five of movies.
I've watched everything about it, and it's it's so many movies.
Rob you kind of said that it's a great coming
of age story and a competently directed coming of age story,
like I'm in for. It always hits, like brings back
all the feels, but like the backdrop of it also
(27:01):
being kind of a sort of coming of age for
the band, and like having those two things happen in
parallel is just such a good way to frame the story.
You know, it's a love letter to rock and roll.
I said, it's a semi auto photographical movie for Cameron,
which is crazy. It's crazy that like reading about his experience,
(27:23):
like he lived a version of this movie, like he
went on the road as a teen with the Almond
Brothers and a bunch of Who.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
Yeah, he was on the plane with the Who that
had some issues apparently, So super just a fun movie.
And there's there's a threat through the movie about like artificiality,
like pennies always talking about in the real world this
and that. And there's a couple of different scenes where
it's why don't we say what we're what we've always
(27:54):
wanted to say, or why don't we say what we
actually mean? And there's this always this Yeah, just fun
a yeer people who are real And I love that
it frames William as you know, the enemy, but he's
also a journalist and kind of a mirror for all
the characters to like actually see who they are and
then how they react to that is It's such just
(28:14):
a fun way to tell tell a story and make
this kind of movie. So just love it. I love it.
I love this movie and this is this is when
Cameron curle Like, this is when I got into Cameron
Crow aggressively and went back. Obviously Jerry McGuire was big,
but that was just that was a Tom Cruise movie.
It wasn't a Cameron Crow movie. And this one very
much was a Cameron Crow movie. Like it's like, oh
(28:37):
who directed it? And you find out about his life.
So then I went back and like this was kind
of my gateway into say Anything and some of his
earlier stuff, and then I was along for the ride
for the later stuff, which kind of a dip after
this movie.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
This might have been peak Peete Cameron Crow.
Speaker 5 (28:53):
He wrote We Bought a Zoo, which there's I think
there might be some red pandas in the movie, which
I love. They're so cute there they get scared.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
They get scared. I love a red pantitituo preach, preach
into the choir.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Well, yeah, I love this movie. So I'm so happy
to again, Yeah, have the chance to rewatch it and
be here to talk about it.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Love it. Man, hot scorching.
Speaker 5 (29:20):
Hot, my hot take. I'm going to see me hot
take for actually the next category.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
Okay, cool, Well that's a great segue let's talk about
in the business. Absolutely we do in that that next
part is our favorite acting performance. We're going to pick
the dude, the dude, the dude.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
know that, or his dude or duder or you know,
el dude, a reno.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
If you're not into the whole brevity thing, what do you.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Got to me?
Speaker 5 (29:53):
This is the hardest I've done a few of these
now with you guys, And this was the hardest movie
by a mile. Like there wasn't a character that just like, oh,
it has to be this guy has to be one
of these two guys, Like it could have been so
many people, so many good actors in this movie. But
my hot take is that this movie is actually a
Penny Lane story more than it is a William story
(30:14):
more than it's a Still Water story. And without Penny
this this movie doesn't work. And it's all the heavy
lifting is done by Kate Hudson in this movie. She's
confident enough to walk in the room as a possibly
child but not confirmed child and kind of own it
with a bunch of rock stars, and you know, she
just exudes that confidence and that that coolness that that
(30:37):
William admires in her. But then she also has some
of the most vulnerable movie moments in the movie where
she's just completely you know, torn down, and you get
to see that whole range, and if it's anyone less capable,
it doesn't play like it's Yeah, it's Kate Hudson all
the way. There's a reason she's on the cover.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
The cover mm hmm, iconic movie cover. That would be
an interesting time. Five.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Oh, I like that.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
Keep them in the back pocket for some day.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
That's a cool idea, because yeah, one hundred percent agreed.
She's the heart of the movie for sure. Everyone falls
in love with her, uh, and that's why it was
such a bummer that she got treated so poorly by
by Russell, Like, we just wanted the best for you.
We wanted her to be happy because she's so wonderful.
(31:29):
But yeah, I'm definitely. I mean, I named my my
dog Penny Lane so great and it was a cool
Beatles thing too, but I just the Beatles.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
Y.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Yeah, so I agree with you, Timmy. I have picture
as well.
Speaker 5 (31:51):
That's crazy. I actually did not think either of you
would go there.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
So yeah, it's a clean sweep. Actually I went there
to clean sweep. I went there as well. I I
totally agree. And as we're talking about it, I'm realizing
there's a lot of similar Like she sleeps with various
members of the band, She like really owns the backstage,
she's friends with all of that. Like, I'm pretty close on.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
This one, Like where's he going with.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Penny Lane of Home Free? I guess around that bush.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
I don't know why I did that. She's stunning in
this movie. I think what both of you said is
absolutely true. I love that we see every like you said,
just like from her most vulnerable to her most invincible,
we see every portion of her personality, which I think
is so fun. She caretakes for the gals as well
(32:54):
as the band members. At points, she's friends with just
tons of people, like you guys have said, I just
think she's wonderful. And I think that's a great take
saying this is kind of her story.
Speaker 5 (33:03):
Really Yeah, but What's Invincible is a good way to
put it. And there's a great scene where she's talking
to William kind of early in the film about how
Russell's her last great project and like she you know,
all the guys are good, but he can be great
and she wants to make him great. And then from
that point on, William kind of becomes that champion four penny,
(33:27):
so like he's there for her to like tell her
the truth and kind of let her see that she
could be great and that, you know, get the very end,
gets her there or at least gets her to have
a chance to be there. I love it.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
Yeah, And how great is it that you know, he
tries to amend things with her and wants to see
in person, wants to like make things work. She's like, no,
you're gonna go and talk to this guy who you's
super wronged and still still made him her project. Still,
you know that was kind of cool.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
Yeah, so so great and didn't try to change him
at the end, which I also think is is good,
or didn't put herself through trying to change him. Maybe
it's the better way of saying it, but yeah, I
just I thought.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
She was amazing in this film and she was just wonderful,
which is nice. Like you said, so many people in
this movie, it's gonna be tough, but let's choose the Tucci.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
Chip for this one.
Speaker 5 (34:32):
There's so many people that deserve to be in serious consideration.
But just like this movie put uh camer and crow
for me on the map, just kind of this is
one maybe that the right age for me. But this
is when Philip Semar Hoffman became kind of the guy.
Like when he's in a movie, he's like the he's
(34:53):
so good at what he does, and at this point
in his career he wasn't, you know, leading a lot
of movies. But whenever he was in a movie, it's
like that that gay like he's it's gonna be funny,
well acted, and everything he says in this movie is perfect.
It is like going through quotes just at one point
is but everything that Phillips what happened says?
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Everything that says Lester Lester Banks. Is that a band name?
Because that really should be no, but I mean yeah,
but we should make Lester Banks uh band name?
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Yeah into it?
Speaker 5 (35:34):
I do it.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Anyway. He completely crushed. He crushes every time he's on
screen in every movie. One of my favorite actors of
all time.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
For sure. I found myself getting really sad watching him this,
I mean kind of and all the ones he shows
up in, but this one specifically, I was like, damn, it.
He could have done these little like go up to
these movies for three or four days or whatever he did.
We could have seen a hundred more of these performances
had things been different. And it is still around, you
know what I mean, Like, yeah, damn, you know, like
(36:11):
he's always just so good.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
He's so good.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
It's a great pick.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
He was my runner up because, dude, Francis McDormand in
this movie, it's so good, such a fun character. She
loves her kids so much and is trying to be
a supportive mom. She agrees to let her son follow
his dream, but also really wants him to not do
(36:35):
that and just graduate I'm a lawyer, become a lawyer.
The fact that she didn't tell him he was like
two years younger than he really was was pretty crazy.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
That's messed up, for sure.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
That's not great.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
Yeah, that's wild.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
But yeah, man, she also had some quotes where you're
just like whoa, Like she's she's bringing up Yeah. I
thought she was so great. I kind of felt like
in Lady Bird, I feel like they wanted Francis McDormand
to be that mom, you know what I mean, Like
I felt like they were taking it straight from this.
(37:15):
But yeah, she's always incredible and she's my teacher.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
I love that. Those were my top two. Also, Francis
McDermott was just beautiful in this movie. Yeah, she's so gorgeous.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Gorgeous, honey.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
I love both of those picks. Now I have to
go farther down.
Speaker 5 (37:39):
We're not allowed to repeat, or just for funis who
was your number one?
Speaker 3 (37:44):
My number one would have been philipsy Moore Hoffman. And
then yeah, for sure, Jason Lee love him. He's just
really good and this was a kind of a different
part for him, which was kind of fun. He got
to be a little bit more like leading man ish
almost or something, which maybe he's done, but he usually
(38:05):
like the comedic, you know, backup guy. But it was
it was fun to see him in this. Yeah, I
liked him a lot, but it.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Was good Billy Crudup too. I mean, this is this
was kind of how I Good Call got into Billy
crudeb was this movie and then kind of just realized
he changes so much in all of his roles. Yeah,
but man, he had some very memorable scenes in this
movie that I'm sure we'll be mentioned in the Dingis.
But I really enjoyed his performance as well.
Speaker 5 (38:33):
Yeah, I crewed up the point number two and I
love Billy Crudup.
Speaker 1 (38:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
Also that we haven't said the kid yet. He was
really good. Fugit, fugit. Yeah, he's great. I thought he
did a really good job of, you know, being sort
of the young person but with the brain that's you know,
maybe ahead of the rest of it.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
You know, range, maybe not as an actor, but certainly
as you know, as a character is so so small, ye,
Like for a couple of age movie, it's there's usually
the main character, you know, that we'd be talking about
as one of the top two guys, one of the
top characters, and usually you see like the most change
(39:17):
in that character that the story's falling. But like I said,
like he plays kind of that he plays the enemy
in this movie. He plays the watcher, the person who's
watching listening, And I think he probably changes, but you
don't see it a lot. Like what he wanted at
the beginning of the movie, like to get a microphone
in a rock star's face is what he wanted at
the end of the movie. It's an interesting uh arc
(39:41):
character arc that he just doesn't change a lot. It's
it's hard to it did ask a ton of him,
except to kind of be steady and consistent, and I
think that's why his mom's in the movie. I think
Francis McDormand was great too. And the only thing I
don't fully get outside of the auto biographical, please, is like,
how does that character fit in the larger story, because
(40:03):
really it's just it gives us a little back room
and ground on William, Like, you know, he comes from
a very strict home.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
Although well that's why he's so young when he goes
out there as well, because she's made him skip all
these grades and stuff, right.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
I also think maybe his story is to show that, like,
sometimes you don't have to change to also evolve into
who you need to be. And for him, you know,
it's funny and we were talking about the like what
the real world is, but for him, his entire life,
he had been told he was a different age than
he was too, so he really needed to like go
(40:39):
and live in the world to find out what the
real world was. And it turns out to be kind
of whatever he wants to go after is the answer
maybe to some degree, and just being kind of people.
Speaker 5 (40:50):
But yeah, it.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know, Like, maybe that's it, and
to know that he can hang in that world or
new world that he needs to as long as he's
not a dirt bag. Maybe that's the answer. I don't know.
It's interesting question though.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
It's interesting with him when this movie came out, is
I don't think I watched Days and Confused right away?
Or maybe I just relate these two but they're both
coming of age type stories with like really awkward male
leads who like are kind of out showing throughout the movie,
but everybody that surrounds him.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
Yeah, confused for sure.
Speaker 5 (41:25):
These two movies have always been like emotionally tied to me,
just because the male leads aren't like the typical lead
you expecting this kind of story.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
I guess that's a good point like that, but so many,
so many more people. I didn't really brank it anymore,
just just listed all the new people, you know what
I mean? Although I did. I did love Zoey de
Chanel and what she she brought. That was a cool
character in there, and uh, you know, gave him her
(42:01):
amazing album collection.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
I was like, damn, I want all those That.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
Was super cool and uh yeah, I mean that changed
his life completely, which I thought was really cool. All
the band aids were were cool, an a pack one
very young, and that Ferusa bulk is Sapphire. I thought
she was the funniest band aid. I thought she was
(42:29):
and she Yeah, she had some good moments.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
I liked her a lot. Yeah, I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (42:35):
Jimmy Fallon, it's his first thing.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
He was pretty good. I liked it.
Speaker 1 (42:41):
Yeah, he was okay. They gave him some really good
lines for sure. For sure. How weird was it seeing
Rain Wilson crazy?
Speaker 5 (42:50):
You know, he's he's like the Rolling Stone great handman.
Speaker 1 (42:56):
Yeah. Yeah. And the one that really blew me away
was Eric stone Street same. I was like, well, I
couldn't believe that. And he had a great line too.
Speaker 5 (43:09):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
And I did not remember Jay Bearshell as the like
other fanboy, and he looked young as.
Speaker 3 (43:15):
Hell he did Dale.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
Yeah, and it was funny because I just saw a
clip of Mark Maron too, and he was showing off
his acting in this movie. Yeah. And another crazy comedian.
Did you notice the Nick Watson David Bowie?
Speaker 7 (43:37):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (43:38):
Yeah, because he's it might be an extended scene in
the director's cut because he talks for he's got like
a few lines in the directors like, yeah, that's funny. No,
he's got a whole He like talks. He's like, well,
it's really you know, blah blah blah, and this is
people are just fan boys and it's whatever. And then
(43:59):
he goes oh and freaks out. So that's funny. He
gets like a line.
Speaker 5 (44:03):
It's funny to say another comedian, because I was thought
you were gonna say Mitch Hedberg, who doesn't have a line.
I don't think, or if he does his brief but
I don't think I was gonna that's Mitch Hedberg at
the poker table, right.
Speaker 1 (44:16):
I was going to ask if he had more in
the in the bootleg because now, yeah, okay, Because he
would always wondering about.
Speaker 3 (44:23):
Maybe that got cut completely from the right final edit,
you know, not knowing this movie super well.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
He would always talk about how he did a movie
with Peter Frampton and how he had to like smoke
fake weed with Peter Frants, like, oh, that's this movie.
But I mean you blink and you don't see ych Hadburg.
Speaker 5 (44:43):
Yeah him to circle back.
Speaker 3 (44:46):
Yeah, they don't even like linger. You know, sometimes they'll
linger on people to be like, yeah, you know who
this is, but him, he was just in the background.
Speaker 5 (44:53):
It's pretty crazy.
Speaker 1 (44:54):
Yeah, that's so nuts, way underutilized.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
Kyle Gas was really funny, and I don't know if
that we didn't get.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
An Kyle No, he's not in it.
Speaker 3 (45:08):
So he's a radio DJ. When they go, she says
at one point, come to the radio interview tonight or something. Oh,
maybe she doesn't say that in your cut. This is
so I don't know this movie.
Speaker 5 (45:22):
Whenny is gonna set up the interview, let William interview, Yeah,
sitting outside their room probably.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Yeah, uh, it's a it's actually a really funny scene,
but it's a it's interesting. I had a I had
a thought that that one might get cut because or
might have not been in the full as you know,
the movie release or whatever, because there's some weird like
like just the shots don't look quite as perfect, like
(45:55):
they're not quite as lined up as they maybe should
be or something. But it's a funny scene, is pretty funny.
Speaker 1 (46:02):
How much of a bummer would that be to be
Kyle Gas and just be like, I'm in this new movie.
Speaker 3 (46:08):
Is gonna be easy, and.
Speaker 8 (46:08):
Then you get cut out at least he's Kyle Gas
Like I think the folks that there one thing ever
gets cut, you know, yeah, or like we've heard about
people who go to the premiere and their scenes have
been cut, like right, that would destroy me.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
I would not do well with that.
Speaker 1 (46:28):
No, that would be such a bummer.
Speaker 3 (46:30):
But yes, I agree, that would just be the worst. Yeah,
the worst.
Speaker 1 (46:37):
Yeah, that was all the people I wrote down.
Speaker 3 (46:40):
I think so for me too.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
Okay, well, let's move on. Let's choose our favorite scene,
and let's choose the Dingus dings so is quite simple, really, dingus, Dingus.
Speaker 2 (46:51):
I could talk about my dingus all night long.
Speaker 3 (46:54):
What do you got for our favorite scene? This hard?
Speaker 5 (46:58):
Yeah, this is really hard. He's gonna sorry whatever you
guys say, No, I'm gonna go a little. Well, the
great answer is tiny Dancer.
Speaker 3 (47:10):
Yeah, but I would.
Speaker 5 (47:14):
Like the loading dock at the Sabage show at the
start of the movie, which kind of sets off the
entire movie. So you have William trying to get backstage
to interview Sabbath for Cream magazine and he can't get in,
and then still Water or not. Then Black Sabbath drives
by into the sweet car and then still Water comes
(47:35):
rolling up later our band aids probably first. Then they
get in, then Stillwater comes up, and it's just a
really good kind of like single location introduction to all
the key players in the movie, kind of their first
introduction to William and Williams first time interacting with them.
So it's just a fun five minutes of all right,
(47:56):
this this is the rest of the movie. Let's go.
Speaker 3 (48:00):
Yeah, it was.
Speaker 1 (48:03):
That's what I meant by I was going to cheat.
I was going to cheat, and I would cheat and
go with the Golden God scene. You do all of
that into into that.
Speaker 3 (48:16):
I like that, Come on, because.
Speaker 1 (48:21):
Those are two of the most iconic scenes in that movie,
and they're all within fifteen minutes. Yeah, he's at that party,
wanting to be with real people and just like how
cool would that be to like just have a celebrity
show up to your high school party. We'll be right,
(48:44):
save some of that for the rest of us, But
that scene was so funny, and then, you know, because
it came off of a pretty tense like argument that
they were having, so then we kind of get some
some comic relief and then it goes right back into
them on the bus and they're having to face each
(49:06):
other and all this, and yeah, that tiny dancer scene
is just magical.
Speaker 5 (49:11):
It's so good.
Speaker 3 (49:11):
That's it brought back together by the music.
Speaker 5 (49:14):
Slowly being peeled away with like one person start singing
and then acson eventually it's just the whole bus.
Speaker 7 (49:20):
Oh, it's so good, so good at that, like just
using music not just for like sweet needle draps, but like, yeah,
incorporating music into the scenes and the actual stories.
Speaker 5 (49:35):
Of his character. Yeah, characters.
Speaker 1 (49:37):
I do love that great use of song for sure.
Speaker 3 (49:41):
Yeah, uh well, I know, I said I was just
gonna agree, But do you guys picked most of the
ones I had.
Speaker 5 (49:48):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (49:48):
I liked the the I guess it's right before that actually,
now that i'm thinking about it. But the where they
fight about the T shirts, Yeah, that's the big fight
right before that. I liked that scene, and I thought
that was a good you know, maybe not to that degree,
but that's a good example of how like bands can
get into like a little like miss with these you know,
(50:10):
like little tips with each other, I guess I should say.
And I just thought that was very relatable from my
time in bands, where it's just like because you almost
come back to it later and you're like, why was
I so mad about that? Like that Obviously we didn't
decide that or you know, whatever the case may be.
But that's just a fun little thing. I would definitely
(50:32):
take the tiny dancer scene for sure. I'm cool with
us going for that. I wrote down the that first
scene when he meets still Water, like you said, I
love that so much. I also think it's so interesting
they are all so surprised that he at least this
is how I read it. He says all these compliments
(50:52):
about them and he's like, anyway, have a good night,
and they're kind of shocked. And I think it's both
because he's being super nice and they weren't expecting that,
but also he it wasn't transactional in that moment, and
I think they weren't used to that. Like he wasn't
saying that to get something from them. He was just
saying a real truthful, nice thing about them. And it
(51:13):
ended up being like it did work in his favor.
But I just thought it wasn't like that weird, you're
in a band, you can get me in the door,
you know. That's not why he said it, which I
thought was kind of fun. I don't know if that's true,
but that's how I wanted it.
Speaker 1 (51:25):
It was like, yeah, man, I'm incendiary too, come back.
Speaker 3 (51:31):
Don't stop now, you know, Like it's so funny and
just and I loved the That flight scene was crazy and.
Speaker 1 (51:39):
It was that's my runner up scene is incredible. And
then that button at the end.
Speaker 3 (51:49):
I also love that they're not like I'm sorry, man,
they were like, you suck. And I've always hated.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
Right, well, you think that at first because it's like
I just want you all to know I love it all.
And it does not stay there.
Speaker 3 (52:03):
I don't know, it.
Speaker 5 (52:05):
Turns and then an underrated funny perform. That scene was
rustless singing. He goes Peggy Sue into a big bobber.
Speaker 3 (52:12):
Oh yeah, just kind of.
Speaker 5 (52:17):
For sure.
Speaker 3 (52:18):
But you have the button to flay.
Speaker 1 (52:21):
And then it levels out. And there.
Speaker 5 (52:26):
Was so that scene, you know, with with him this
decoration and then the plane instantly leveling out. There's a
lot of time and like camera Crow wrote his asked
off in this movie and set things up the I'm uh,
what is a Greek god?
Speaker 1 (52:42):
I'm a golden I'm a golden god.
Speaker 5 (52:44):
That scene he's on the phone with the manager, he's
like I got him, he's safe, but he's on acid.
And then they don't show you the other part of
the conversation and he just says, I don't know how
to tell if it's too much, and then it cuts
right down. I'm a golden God. There's like six really
quick cuts in this movie where it's like, yeah, man,
this is this is tight.
Speaker 1 (53:04):
Yeah, dude, really fun.
Speaker 3 (53:08):
Version I watched was not as tight.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
I bet. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (53:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
When it's right at two hours, it's it's pretty tight.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong, but I was like,
oh boy, I really.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
Made another runner up I wrote was just all of
the chats with Philip Seymour Hoffman, but especially the last
scene when William is at his lowest and doesn't know
what to do and he gives him some some pretty
great advice and it's just really truthful with him. And yeah,
he threw some really great quotes at him, really good stuff.
Speaker 3 (53:41):
Yeah, like that a lot.
Speaker 5 (53:42):
Everything he says is so perfect. That's unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (53:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (53:47):
I had the entire start of the movie. I started
writing down scenes and I'm just the flashback sequence. So
it was young William eleven year old William we come
to find out, and uh, it starts with a hater
rating opening credit scene, Like that was the first thing
I wrote down, which is just a fun way to
do it.
Speaker 1 (54:04):
Yeah, francis wrong the first time.
Speaker 5 (54:07):
Yeah, yes, they raise it. And then you have the
scene where Francis McDormand confronts her daughter, and like it
just sets the character so well and kind of sets
the mood.
Speaker 1 (54:19):
Of the home.
Speaker 5 (54:19):
And William again is just kind of an observer in
that scene, which sets up the movie, and right through
when she leaves and she leaves all the records. Then
he's going through the records and there's a record that says,
listen to Tommy with the candle burning, and you'll see
your entire future, and it cuts to present day like
cuts to the future. I just thought it was a
perfect five minute opening the set of scenes.
Speaker 1 (54:43):
Love that.
Speaker 3 (54:44):
Also, love that end scene or towards the end when
the sister comes home with him and like the Francis
McDormand and Zoe are like kind of don't know how
to act and then he just sort of like pushes
them together and they just start giggling, and I don't know,
I just love that felt very cathartic to me to
be like, oh good, we can just get over our
(55:05):
bills and just enjoy each other's company. Again.
Speaker 5 (55:08):
It was very cute.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
It was just a lovely moment.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
I forgive you. I didn't apologize.
Speaker 5 (55:16):
I might have to edit my boohoo count here. What
do you what do you mean the cathartic moment?
Speaker 3 (55:23):
What do you mean?
Speaker 1 (55:25):
Dude, Timmy, we're gonna have to go with yours For
whatever reason, I skipped that all So Timmy, we're going
with yours.
Speaker 3 (55:34):
Done three hundred.
Speaker 5 (55:38):
I have to mention the wind as well. So the
scene with her dancing again, the scene with uh yeah
Penny dancing in the empty editorium and it plays Cat
Stevens the Wind, which that that song like it was forever,
like just.
Speaker 3 (55:57):
To yeah extended because there's a lot of her dancing around,
which is actually pretty great.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
Oh okay, there's too much like okay, okay.
Speaker 3 (56:08):
But that was another one. There's like if the focus
must have got weird, so you had to like re
wrack the focus in the middle of the scene. So
you see that a couple of times in there, and
I was like, I can't imagine that made the like
the you know regularly release at it. You know, I
can't imagine.
Speaker 5 (56:27):
So I'll step on the trivia. But that's Camera Crow's
favorite scene in the movie too.
Speaker 3 (56:31):
Oh fun, I don't so that's cool.
Speaker 1 (56:34):
Yeah, I was gonna say that for the trivia part,
but lovely, I was a.
Speaker 5 (56:40):
Crazy planted for trivia. He whoa sure shots?
Speaker 1 (56:48):
Can we say tiny Dancer.
Speaker 5 (56:49):
Is the is Yes, one of the best scenes.
Speaker 1 (56:55):
It's wonderful. It's so good, and that's why we're doing
our top five scenes. Stay Dune, Yes, sir, Let's let's
talk about some of these quotes.
Speaker 3 (57:06):
Let's show me the mo name, show me the money,
show me.
Speaker 1 (57:16):
Before we see it.
Speaker 5 (57:17):
Let me just say what no one else will say
to you. Your looks have become a problem. That's number one,
because it's just it's just a completely like I lost
this argument, but I'm just gonna go for a cut
and walk out.
Speaker 1 (57:31):
And especially since Billy Crudip is so.
Speaker 5 (57:36):
Attractive, he is not a bad looking person, so cute.
Speaker 3 (57:41):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (57:42):
Throw some more out man.
Speaker 5 (57:44):
That was one of my favorite I mean again, it's
everything Lester says. I think my favorite Lester quote is
the only true currency in this Baker that is what
you share with someone else when you're uncool, and he
had a ton about being uncool. My second favorite last
year was at the beginning, when they're walking away from
(58:04):
the radio station. He goes, okay, like it's great, it's
been great, but I can't just stand here chatting with
all my fans and it cuts just like a wide
open empty street.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
Well, and then then it's them eating.
Speaker 3 (58:17):
I'm sure you got some stuff to do.
Speaker 1 (58:19):
I really don't.
Speaker 3 (58:20):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was great, that's wonderful.
Speaker 5 (58:25):
Yeah, how do you know when it's kicked in and
I am a golden god.
Speaker 1 (58:28):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (58:30):
One of the one of the things I was talking
about the time is how old are you? Eighteen? Me too?
Actually I'm seventeen, me too. Actually I'm sixteen, me too.
The truth just sounds different in fifteen. It's just just
the way that that progressed. I thought was fun.
Speaker 1 (58:48):
Alright, now I think she's sixteen from that.
Speaker 5 (58:50):
Oh no, I swear she's I know.
Speaker 1 (58:53):
I'm just saying she's an.
Speaker 5 (58:54):
Appropriately aged lady for a rex star. It sounds bad.
It needs me. Yeah, well that's what I was.
Speaker 3 (59:03):
Yeah, I get you. I get you.
Speaker 5 (59:07):
In that opening sequence when he's eleven h she says
fuck you yea, and she goes, well, there it is.
Your sister used that word. And then William says, I
think she said pack and what's the difference the letter you.
Speaker 1 (59:23):
Yeah, that was pretty great.
Speaker 3 (59:24):
But he says it so happily, I know, and.
Speaker 5 (59:27):
She gets a little smirk when he says it. Great,
it's a fun Those are my favorites.
Speaker 1 (59:37):
It's all happening, man, it's happening. That's got to be
one of the cuts in the movie for sure. I
also had that Lester Lester Bangs one, The True Currency
one is so good. I love that. I love when
rustles on the roof. You can tell Rolling Stone Magazine
(59:57):
that my last words were I'm on drugs, Russell. I
think we should work on those last words. I got it,
I got it, last words. I dig music. It's just
like and they cut.
Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
To that one guy and he's like.
Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
I don't know, man, little drugs. Yeah, I go back
to that.
Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
That's pretty great.
Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
Oh, his ending with the so Russell, what do you
love about music? To begin with? Everything?
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
That is great?
Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
Rock stars have kidnapped my son. Yeah, it's pretty good.
Speaker 5 (01:00:35):
And then the girl just still taking notes.
Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
Yeah, one that was kind of funny, and it was
Jimmy Foullon. They gave it to Jimmy. Just if you
think Mick Jagger will still be out there trying to
be a rock star at age fifty, then you are sadly,
sadly mistaken. Meanwhile, he's like eighty years old.
Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
He was touring. I don't know if he's doing it
this year, but he did last year, right.
Speaker 5 (01:00:57):
So yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:00:58):
Yeah, why do you throw some up bukes?
Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
I love?
Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:01:03):
Don't you have any regular friends? Famous people are just
more interesting? Just like that line, And I wrote in
parentheses that's why I like Rob.
Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
Blanqust love it.
Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
Almost famous beat bold and mighty forces will come to
your aid. It is a cool lie. Yeah, I liked
that a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
Yeah, I think Gutha said that. She said it. Yeah, yeah,
I don't. I don't know that.
Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
Well you don't, I don't believe not.
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
Well, no, I can't. I can't. I can't quote them.
Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
That's fair.
Speaker 1 (01:01:40):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
What was Vicky Bellancourt's.
Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Name, Ferusa Usa, Bulpusa.
Speaker 3 (01:01:46):
I'm pretty sure it's her that says it. Oh no,
it's it's Anna Paquin. When she's talking to him and
she's like, you're really nice, and she's like, if only
you were taller, English rich could play guitar and we're older.
He just goes, I'd be someone else, and she was
like true.
Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
The only thing we really get from Annapac when she
says it's all happening at one point, but she also
does the act one she pretends like he's not there.
Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
That is great too.
Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
That's pretty much all we get from Anna Pac.
Speaker 5 (01:02:26):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
Well she had a great line there, but we've heard
about so that's fun on the plane okay, and then
immediately the you know, the turbulence sounds. It's really great.
Speaker 1 (01:02:41):
It is that love.
Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
When they're when they find out he's written like the
real account of them for Rollings Down and Uh at
one point just goes like you had the right idea
because the drummer never says anything the whole time except
I loved that. That was really fun.
Speaker 1 (01:03:00):
Yeah, is it so hard to make us look cool?
Speaker 5 (01:03:07):
Great?
Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
So great? Uh, I had to live with you and
now I might die with you and it's not fun there.
Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
Yeah, he really went off.
Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
That was really great. Also. I don't know if this
is in your version, but at some point they call
our young hero Williams sweet and he goes, where do
you get sweet? I'm done and mysterious and pissed off,
and it's yea.
Speaker 5 (01:03:37):
With Penny Lane at the end.
Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
Before that the New York So so great. Uh, and
a semi serious one was you see You're dangerous, You
see everything. Most people they're just talking or they're just
waiting to talk, but you you listen.
Speaker 5 (01:03:53):
And I thought that was pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
Yeah, that was cool. Just a clun one one that
isn't great that I used to like and now it's
just creepy. Is the I'm gonna go where many men
have been before? And then yeah, kisses her while she's
like passed out.
Speaker 5 (01:04:10):
Yeah, not great.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Not good, not pretty accurate to like the rock and
roll world, which but not great, not great.
Speaker 5 (01:04:19):
No, it's not in character, like it's not something he'd
say to himself.
Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
May then yeah, yeah, really taking advantage of that situation.
And it's just like it didn't seem again.
Speaker 5 (01:04:32):
I'm trying to watch it because I love the movies,
so you try to like explain the things that are.
I try viewed it as him trying to keep her
conscience conscious in any way possible until they got there
to save your life. Yeah, yeah, but yeah, it wasn't that.
That whole scene hit different in than it used to.
(01:04:53):
At least I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
Remember if I said this one, but it's another Phillipsy
more Hofman. The when they're talking at the very end
and it's like, I'm glad you were home. It's like
I'm always home.
Speaker 1 (01:05:06):
Cool, cool, for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
That's all the ones are around now.
Speaker 5 (01:05:16):
I had a couple more. I had go for it
to me's some some sweet ones. I like that I
have to go home. And Penny's looking at him and
he's like, you are home.
Speaker 1 (01:05:27):
You are home, kind of a poof you are home.
And then that's fun.
Speaker 5 (01:05:33):
If you ever need something, you know, a rescue, hit
me up. We live in the same city. Sometimes I
feel like I live in a different world.
Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (01:05:43):
And the last one from Leicester. To finish it off,
you'll meet them all again on their long journey to
the middle. That's his first kind of iconic.
Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
That's a really good one.
Speaker 1 (01:05:56):
Nice. Well, now we're going to go to a news section.
We've only done it a few times. I'm gonna go
to moments.
Speaker 3 (01:06:04):
Oh God, bless you for being so honest. I would
have just lied and been like.
Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
I just started saying, no, I'm blanked it. I'm not
at home, I'm on the road.
Speaker 3 (01:06:15):
I forgot.
Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
But Timmy, it sounds like you you rocked it out.
Speaker 5 (01:06:19):
I did it, actually, so I I didn't blak it
it just I prepared for this movie differently. I just
put everything down and I just watched the movie because.
Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
I remember version.
Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
Yeah, my god, it's almost a three hour movie I
had this year.
Speaker 5 (01:06:37):
Zero just gets too good and like it just it
makes me feel so good to watch this movie that
I couldn't imagine crying.
Speaker 3 (01:06:45):
It's not zero, I'll tell you that.
Speaker 5 (01:06:47):
And then then I changed it to one because of
uh the homecoming scene with the daughter. But I feel
like it's gonna be a little there's some sad parts
of this movie.
Speaker 1 (01:06:56):
But yeah, well, I mean that scene we're talking about
when he's like Ryan on the phone and talking to Lester,
I feel like that has to be one.
Speaker 3 (01:07:05):
I think he says, right, what you want? Oh no,
that's what That's what the other.
Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
Guy says to Billy. Krudep says that Lester says it too.
Speaker 3 (01:07:14):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (01:07:15):
He just tells him to write the merciful but yeah,
I would imagine, you know, Penny Lane getting her heart broken.
I would think would probably.
Speaker 5 (01:07:30):
Yeah, yeah up there, what kind of beer is a
heartbreaking line?
Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
Because that's pretty great that she was deflected.
Speaker 5 (01:07:40):
Yeah yeah, the way she said it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:43):
Yeah, but before that though, she because autely, kind of
makes it funny when he was I was there, I
was there.
Speaker 3 (01:07:50):
Yeah, Yeah, that totally got.
Speaker 1 (01:07:52):
I'd say you probably did it about five times in
this movie.
Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
That is exactly the correct number. I don't even have
to really have to try, he says. His mom says,
I miss you and I love you. Yeah, and she's
just really sad and scared because he's on the.
Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
Don't take drugs. We didn't say that one, but that's
all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:08:16):
Uh boohood. When mom tells russell Off, that's a great scene.
We should that is a great scene. And the line
that you did say, the line Tom but when she's
like you could still be something like him, and I
think that's pretty amazing. Who sold you to Humble Pie
(01:08:36):
for fifty bucks in the case of beer? That was something. Uh,
And then that the like write what you want into
the sad phone conversation. I kind of do that all
as one and then hugging the mom at the end.
So yeah, those five.
Speaker 5 (01:08:50):
I got one, five, I got five on it.
Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
Let's go to some movie truly, Yeah, let's see to
look like a real rock band before actors and still
Water rehearsed for four hours a night, five nights a
week for six weeks. But a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:09:09):
That's a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:09:10):
It went.
Speaker 1 (01:09:11):
It looked like a real rock band.
Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
Yeah, it's also not Jason Lee singing.
Speaker 1 (01:09:16):
Jason Lee singing.
Speaker 5 (01:09:19):
It shocked when I read that. Really, I can't tell you.
Speaker 1 (01:09:25):
I mean, I feel like a lot of times you
can just tell, you know, somebody's speaking voice. Usually you
can tell kind of if it's a similar singing voice.
But that one was bad. That's one of the worst ones.
Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
The one that still pisses me off is like the
Steel Dragon one with Marky Mark.
Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
Mark Mark like the singer what do we do? But
they used two different singers in that, which is really
like the dude from what was it called the Verve,
the guy who did we were only Freshman? He is
one of the guys maybe the Verve Pipe.
Speaker 3 (01:10:04):
Yeah, they don't remember, but I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
But it was the guy who did we were Only Freshman.
The gotcha okay, but then they got like a different
guy to do all like the screamy high stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:10:15):
Yeah that's crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
So anyway, sorry, that's a different movie of.
Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
The The film is director, what did you say, Timmy?
Speaker 5 (01:10:25):
That could have been the Tria, which could have been
the worst. Fake singers are the most obvious.
Speaker 3 (01:10:31):
It's probably not the worst, but they're not great. The
film is director Cameron Crows semi autobiography, Bigraphical Jesus. Yeah.
The whole time I was thinking, we already talked about this.
I think we said all the things except we didn't say.
Russell Hammond is partially based on Glenn Frey of Fry
(01:10:53):
Fry of the Let's Move On. Penny Lane asked William
if he'd like to go to Morocco with her. He says, yes,
ask me again. According to camera co that ask me
again was the actor stepping out of character and asking
Kate Hudson to repeat our lines for another take. What
Cameron liked it so much that he just kept it in.
(01:11:14):
And I thought that was interesting because I was like,
why did say that? That's weird? But it does fit somehow,
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
It's really interesting and Also, isn't that kind of like
ballsy for like an actor to like step on it
and be like okay, Like, isn't that the director's job
to be like okay, ask him again, because that didn't
really work, I know.
Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
Because it's his like his coverage, right, So maybe they
and stuff is filmed auto sequence, So maybe that was
like towards the end when they were comfy. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:11:41):
I mean, I'm not real upset about it, but no,
I yeah, I would be.
Speaker 3 (01:11:45):
Scared to do that, I know that. Yeah, especially the
Kate outs what happens. Let's see, most films have music
music budgets of less than one point five million. I'm struggling.
This film featured over fifty songs, and its music budget
was three point five million.
Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
For The Mugic Crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
When Cameron Crowe's mother appeared on the set for a cameo,
crow made every effort to keep her away from Francis McDormand,
who was playing a character based on her, and he
says it was so mcdormand's interpretation of the part wouldn't
be surveyed, but he ended up leaving the set for
a few minutes. On the first day of shooting and
(01:12:32):
he returned to find them having lunch together. So that
didn't work. O.
Speaker 1 (01:12:36):
That pretty great.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
Stillwaters songs were created by Peter Frampton, Love That, Cameron
Crowe and his ex wife Nancy Wilson of the rock
band Hearts.
Speaker 5 (01:12:53):
Life is just.
Speaker 3 (01:12:56):
Yeah are.
Speaker 5 (01:13:00):
And maybe my ex wife?
Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
This is crazy, crazy crazy. Uh So Crow sent the
script around town to see if he could get anyone
to respond to it. Steven Spielberg, founder of DreamWorks, read
Crow's hundred and seventy two page script over a weekend,
called Crow on Monday and said direct every word, and
(01:13:22):
Crowe said he filmed almost all of the script.
Speaker 5 (01:13:26):
It's the biggest waste of three words ever, adding the
common founder of DreamWorks after Steven Spielberg is that's how people.
Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
Oh, I was saying it, and I was like, I'm
just reading.
Speaker 1 (01:13:40):
I know. I didn't even catch.
Speaker 3 (01:13:44):
Jazz. That's so funny. You may not know his other work,
but he's.
Speaker 1 (01:13:48):
The found DreamWorks.
Speaker 3 (01:13:49):
I'll have.
Speaker 1 (01:13:51):
He created Amblin Entertainment. That's Steven Spielberg.
Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
All that guy, Yes, yes, talking about this movie called
at I didn't know what it was. Oh, this is fun.
The old records that William looks through that his sister
gave him. That those are actually Cameron Crow's saved from
his younger years.
Speaker 1 (01:14:12):
I believe it.
Speaker 3 (01:14:12):
That's pretty hot. I like that. The Golden God is
a reference to Robert Plant of led Zeppelin, who is
purported to have said the same thing whilst sober looking
over the sunset strip from a hotel balcony.
Speaker 1 (01:14:31):
That is douche here when you're sober, for.
Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
Sure, big time. Also, do we believe it? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
I don't know enough about rubber Plant.
Speaker 3 (01:14:39):
Yeah, me either, who knows. The legal disclaimer at the
end of the film, which for most films merely states
that all characters and events are fictional, with any real
life similarities being coincidence, notes that the character of Penny
Lane was loosely based on a real individual, and Crowe
has stated that Penny Lane is based on a real
(01:14:59):
life friend, Penny Trumbull, who goes by the name who
went by the name Penny Lane, and she lives in Portland,
Orgon and is involved in the music industry. So there
is a Penny Lane ish person out there.
Speaker 1 (01:15:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:15:12):
Interesting, interesting, interesting. Philips Y more Hoffman was only permitted
because of his schedule to be on set for four
days and he had the flu the entire time. So
in the sixth Rock for a Second.
Speaker 1 (01:15:28):
Crazy Wow, he was in the middle of filming something else.
Is that crazy?
Speaker 3 (01:15:33):
But it didn't say what look into it.
Speaker 5 (01:15:37):
I'm going to figure it out.
Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
We had that. Oh I didn't know this. So Les Harvey,
who was a guitarist for Stone that Crows, was actually
killed by grabbing a microphone that wasn't grounded in nineteen
seventy two. So that's scary.
Speaker 1 (01:15:58):
Yeah, that was a scary scene.
Speaker 3 (01:15:59):
That seemed scared. I didn't like that. I didn't like
that one bit. But we had the Mick Jagger I'm
not going to be doing on his fifty thing. That's funny.
Oh this is sad, but here we are the real
Lester Bangs died of a drug overdose at a fairly
(01:16:19):
young age. And then you'rely similar to Philip Seymour Hoffman
in the film, who later died of a drug overdose
as well. Yeah, that's kind of a bummer.
Speaker 4 (01:16:29):
Yeah, I'll leave you on that bummer.
Speaker 1 (01:16:32):
Thank you, thank you for that. I had a couple
of things. The roles of Russell Hammon and Penny Lane
were originally written for Brad Pitt and Sarah Polly, Polly
dropped out to work on her own project. It was
a low budget Canadian movie called The Lave of Enclosures.
The Lave of Enclosures, Yeah, so yeah, then Kate Hudson
(01:16:57):
got it. And then I saw that Jon Favreau and
Jack Black both auditioned for the role of Lester Banks.
Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:17:04):
They listed a ton of people who auditioned for uh
Penny Lane. It was like pretty much every actress it
seemed that. Yeah, so way to go for Kate Hudson
because that I mean, she wasn't a name at that point.
Speaker 5 (01:17:21):
She wasn't at all.
Speaker 3 (01:17:22):
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:17:23):
She rocked it out.
Speaker 5 (01:17:24):
Jack Black could have done a decent Lester Banks, who
was the other one.
Speaker 1 (01:17:28):
He would have been so young in that he would.
Speaker 5 (01:17:30):
Have That's the thing I'm thinking almost Jack Black now, yeah,
twenty years ago.
Speaker 1 (01:17:35):
John Favreau, who also would have been interesting. I can't
really see him as that.
Speaker 5 (01:17:40):
But maybe maybe a.
Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
Tougher Fitt have done it as good as h as
ps ps ah for sure.
Speaker 5 (01:17:50):
That almost every PSH rollo, Yeah, nobody can do it.
Speaker 1 (01:17:56):
Brad Pitt could have been the Billy Crudip character.
Speaker 3 (01:17:59):
Yeah, I think so. So you need to figured it
out for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:18:03):
Yeah, for sure five years old.
Speaker 5 (01:18:05):
Maybe maybe I worked out for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:18:10):
Did you come up with any other trivia we didn't hit?
Tim know?
Speaker 5 (01:18:14):
I mentioned the one earlier that the Petty Lane dancing
in the empty Degreas during Cleveland Auditorium is Cameron cross
favorite scene of the movie.
Speaker 3 (01:18:21):
That's great.
Speaker 5 (01:18:23):
Yeah, all the Peter Frampton.
Speaker 3 (01:18:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:18:30):
I always like a fictional band that actually has some
some good tunes.
Speaker 3 (01:18:34):
Yeah. Cool.
Speaker 5 (01:18:36):
Yeah, fear Dog was on my iPod for quite a fever.
Speaker 1 (01:18:40):
Dog was nice.
Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:18:42):
I did see somewhere that they went and did a
full on music video for that.
Speaker 3 (01:18:47):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (01:18:48):
Yeah, that's cool.
Speaker 3 (01:18:50):
That'd be fun to look up fun.
Speaker 1 (01:18:53):
Will there be a sequel Judgment Day?
Speaker 5 (01:18:56):
No? Maybe, no, there won't. I did it right after
my hot take that I would watch. I mean, I'd
watch anything that came recorded in this space again. But
I think it would actually be an interesting film to
tell the story from the Penny Lane point of view. Sure, oh,
which gets done from time to time and it usually sucks,
(01:19:18):
But I think sure the Penny Lane story would be interesting.
Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
I agree, that would be fun, cool, and they could
do that.
Speaker 3 (01:19:26):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:19:29):
Sweet, Do you guys want to play a game? Yes,
I made a starting five. I'm going to name five
actors from a film. When you know the film, You're
going to ring in with your name. If you get
it wrong, there's no negative points, but you won't be
able to guess again for that movie. Okay, if their
actors' names remaining, you can guess those for a point each.
The other person can steal if you get any of
(01:19:51):
those names wrong. All these films have something in common.
When you know the theme, you can ring in at
any time for a point. We feel good?
Speaker 5 (01:20:03):
